Explorer from Another World (2024) Movie Script
Black, a perfect black.
For eons, there was a silence.
..
Such silence was
impenetrable and universal,
all consuming and
unchallenged in its authority.
Nothing stirred, and nothing would.
It had been so that
all was perfect and still
since the start of creation itself.
And yet, it was simply in a
blinding, instantaneous flash
that the silence was broken.
The universe was born, and
there would never be a moment
of total silence ever again.
And it was only with the passage of time
that the first planets began to form.
It was on one such planet
that life too eventually
formed, planet Earth.
With great canyons and
valleys for creatures to inhabit,
the world began transforming
in unprecedented ways,
until eventually, man was born.
By the 20th century, man had
long oversaw his own progress.
Electricity, the automobile,
the telephone,
atomic bombs, then, a man in outer space.
Evolution was ours.
By the 20th century, we had determined
that no other planet in our
solar system was fit for life.
However, this determination
does not exclude other planets,
the many, many planets
buried in the furthest recesses
of outer space, places
free from human awareness.
Could there be life out there?
Could there be life
beyond our solar system?
And if so, could they pose a threat to us?
The neon lights are calling
The city, she's alive
I'm feeling good, let's stomp some wood
Let's boogie and let's jive
The band sure is a playing fast
And the beer is oh so cold
What's your
favorite monster, Eddie?
Um, say Frankenstein.
What about you?
Wolfman.
He's cool.
I like him.
Wanna put that right there?
And, finished!
Looks nice.
Can we do another one?
You sure?
It's kinda late, isn't it?
Yeah.
Okay.
Sorry to break up the party,
but it's time for bed, Cindy.
Aw!
It's okay, we can do
another one tomorrow night,
all right?
It's Friday night and you're
putting puzzles together
with your sister?
Nothing to do, I guess.
You could always come
watch "Rawhide" on the television
with your father and I.
It's about to start, Helen!
Okay, dear!
Think I'll just stay here
and read some comics.
Well, the offer still stands
if you change your mind.
Night, Mom.
In this dance hall
where dreams take flight
You're the star of my Saturday night
Underneath that old moon filled night
And that was Big Todd McGee
with, "Going out Tonight."
And what y'all doing out
tonight, Beutter County?
Wait, Frank just handed me some adverts.
Now, for a special announcement,
folks, may I have the pleasure of unveiling
to all of you,
the grand opening of Dario's Pizza.
That's right, traditional,
genuine, Italian pizza
just down...
Jesus, Cullpepper!
Sorry.
Well, are you ready?
Ready for what?
It's Friday night!
Did you forget already? - Forget what?
"The Atomic Creature"
playing at The Exeter tonight.
Remember?
I just feel like staying in the night.
Well, what do you
want me to tell Mary Beth?
You know Mary Beth would
never go see a picture like that.
Eddie Joseph Makielski!
How do you know which
kind of picture I wanna go see?
The moon is so bright
Are you going to the Out of
the World Dance next Friday?
Well, Donald Gleason asked me to go.
Oh.
But I haven't said yes yet.
Oh, why is that?
Well, he's not the one I want to go with.
Hmm. - What about you?
If you're interested, I mean, I'm going.
I don't wanna be a burden or anything.
I mean, I like... - Mm.
Like, I mean, I don't
want to be like a problem,
but would you ever-
Who cares about some crummy dance?
We're gonna be late and get
stuck with some lousy seats.
Fine, we'll take the shortcut
through Farmer Gibbon's place,
save us some time.
Fine.
Evening, Professor.
Evening, Mary Beth, boys.
Oh, oh, darling
Soft, gentle breeze Curious.
Professor Farnsworth speaking.
I hope I'm not interrupting your evening,
Professor Farnsworth.
Oh, that's quite all right, Jean.
Mark Taylor just phoned
me from the observatory,
and he said that he saw
a peculiar incoming object
through the telescope.
And I thought you ought to know.
I saw it as well.
Probably just a meteoroid.
Possibly.
But he insisted its movements
were entirely erratic.
See if you can track it.
Maybe we can get a group together Monday
and search for any remnants.
Sure thing, Professor. - All right, then.
See you Monday.
So what did the Mrs. have to say?
I've been married to that
woman for over 20 years.
She makes the same damn
meal every Friday night,
Chipped beef on toast and stuffed celery.
Sounds like she needs some new recipes.
You wanna know what
she's making for dessert?
Frosted ham ribbon loaf.
You wanna stop by my
place tonight, Sheriff, for dinner?
Why?
What's Maybelle making?
I bet it's something good.
Her slow cooked pot roast with carrots
and potatoes garnish.
Fill you up like a tick.
Well, I'd love to Tommy,
but if the Mrs. found out
I have supper with y'all,
I'd be sleeping on the
Chesterfield for a week.
Just so you know, Sheriff,
the offer stands anytime.
That's awful kind of you, Tommy.
Sheriff's Office.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
A glow?
In the woods,
south of Lakewood College.
I'd be happy all my life
With that aggravating
beauty, Lulu Walls
Sweet Jesus!
The commies have finally done it!
It's a God damn invasion!
Not today, Nikita Khrushchev!
Who's out there?
What was that?
Was that Gibbons?
Probably just an owl
No, I think I heard it too.
You know that drunk has a shotgun, right?
Yeah, I'm aware.
What the shit is this?
Ah, shit, he spotted us.
God damn commies are invading!
You got five seconds to get off my land
and 10 seconds to get out of my country
before I shove two barrels
of American freedom up your head!
Can you see him? - Yeah, I can see him.
He's screaming, but not at us.
Well, who's he screaming at then?
I don't know.
He seems pretty worked up about it.
What the shit Jesus?
Who's out there?
The hell kind of mutant cosmonaut are you?
Oh, shit.
All right.
And Loraine
is wrapping her around-
There we go. - the ropes,
and she's really giving her the works.
Come on, now!
Socked
between the shoulder blades-
Rip her top off!
Rip her top off!
on those
ropes and.
The referee is stopping the match!
Disqualifying the... Aw, hell!
The
referee has disqualified
Lorraine Johnson, and
we'll be right back, folks.
Breweries is the beer
with the one big difference.
It's Drewrys for you
It's Drewrys for me
I'd sure like to wrestle her.
That's a big difference
in beer is Big D
So much more flavor
And less filling too
Professor Farnsworth,
there was a man, and then, he had a pack.
And he was near Gibbons
on a farm and it was night.
Okay, calm down!
Now, what's all this excitement about?
Farmer Gibbons is dead.
You gotta call Sheriff Wilcox now!
Dead?
Well, what happened to him?
His head is just blown clean off!
By a creature from another world.
Look, we don't know what we saw,
but someone or something just shot him.
Now, this wouldn't be some sort of prank,
Mary Beth? - No, honest!
Just-
You wouldn't want me calling your folks.
Call Sheriff Wilcox, please!
There's something strange going on here!
What are you waiting for?
Clarence Gibbons is dead!
Well, I'm sitting on the porch
with my heart in my hand
Watching the sunset
over this lonely land
I've been a drifting and a rambling
Through dust and through rain
But I can't seem
To shake off this heartache and pain
Why did you lead me in
I've searching for solice
Sheriff's Office.
Hold on, Professor.
Okay, they saw what now?
Clarence Gibbon?
Well, I admit, that damn
drunk's as crazy as a dog
in a hubcap factory.
But I reckon he was just
taking pot-shots at coons again.
I think you have some excited
kids with wild imaginations.
Look, I got Tommy out
on another call right now,
but if it makes you feel better,
I'll have him swing by
and take a look when he's
done with that en, all right?
Go on and send them kids home.
And I've left you to roam
In this lonesome old world without
Tommy, come in.
Yeah, Rossy here, come back.
Listen, I need you to
swing by the Gibbon's place
and check on that old fool.
He's shooting that damn shotgun again.
Roger that, Sheriff.
I just pulled into the
Marko place out here.
I'll get on that as soon as I get done
with barnyard mystery.
Standing by.
I ain't never gonna get
home for dinner tonight.
Lord above.
Why?
And my chickens!
What's this European
Clydehopper up to now?
Mr. Marko?
Mr. Marko?
Hey, Sheriff!
It's Deputy, thank you.
You made a call on the Sheriff's Office?
No, sheriff, I didn't call, no.
My wife, she called.
Okay, and what is this pertaining to?
This guy, guy is killing my chickens.
He's ripping the head off.
Your chicken.
Who did this?
This guy.
He look like a underwater Olympic gymnast.
And he did what now?
Killing my chicken with like instrument.
An instrument?
Yeah, it's not like tuba, Sheriff.
It's more like bicycle pump, okay?
It look like a, it's got a
pointy thing on the end.
It shoot like red light, maybe blue light.
No, Sheriff, it's red light.
I don't think the color matters, sir.
No problem, okay?
I'll take care of it, eh? - No, no, no.
Wait, sir, please!
I will investigate the
situation on your property.
Please, you can rest here.
I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Are you sure?
Yes, sir.
Okay, well, hold on, Sheriff.
Hold on!
Let me put the gun away.
I'm gonna go with you, okay?
I have Fox Deluxe, eh?
No, I cannot partake
while I'm on duty, sir.
I appreciate the offer.
Oh, okay, if you're sure.
I wait here.
I drink.
When you come back, we drink together, huh?
Thank you, Mr. Marko.
I will get right back to you.
Okay, Sheriff.
Good luck, eh?
All right, thank you.
And it's Deputy, thank you.
What?
Good luck, Sheriff!
There's nothing we can do, Eddie.
Yeah, we'll just let the
grownups handle this one.
Besides, do you wanna
get vaporized or something?
I don't want anyone
to get vaporized, Chuck!
Who knows who could be next?
It could be us, friends, family.
You saw what happened to
Gibbons, and he had a shotgun!
I wouldn't mind if he
vaporized my step daddy.
Chuck, you need to take
this a little more seriously.
Well, what are we
supposed to do then, huh?
Kindly ask them to not
decapitate the good people
of Beutter County?
That's enough, Chuck!
He's right though, Eddie.
What can we do?
I don't know.
We don't do something now,
there won't be nobody
left to do something later.
Excuse me, sir?
Can you stand up, please?
Sir, I'm gonna have to ask
you to turn around, please.
We're gonna have a little talk here.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
I need you to put that away.
I need you to put that away now,
so we can have a discussion,
like two normal gentlemen.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate that.
Now, is that a dead chicken you have there?
What is going on here?
Do you understand me now?
What are you wearing on your head?
Boy, are you some sort
of pilot or something?
Did you have a crash? whoa!
My bowling hand!
Why'd you have to do that, mister?
Gibbon!
Is that you?
Poor bastard.
Drunken hillbillies
and shotguns are not a good combination.
Even a hillbilly like you
couldn't be that drunk.
Curious.
Jesus, Mary, and-
Joseph?
You're fourth in line right now.
I've been getting whack a
doodle calls all damn night!
Now, you sit tight.
I'll send Rossy by just as soon as I can.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
You tell Erdle May I said bye to you.
Rossy, come back now.
Rossy, you out there?
Tommy, pick up the damn radio!
Going after him, aren't you, Sheriff?
Going after who, Hank?
The God damn spaceman!
It's like I told Tommy
earlier, I saw a green man
with a fish bowl on his head,
digging the hole off the back
of Montgomery Lawson's place.
Then, he jumped into some sort
of flying space capsule and flew off!
Hank, I believe the only
thing you've seen tonight is
the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Well, I do like to
drink a little, Sheriff.
Okay, a lot.
But I know what I saw!
Well, what you say is
true, make room in there.
I always get my man.
Ain't no man, Sheriff!
Well, hot dog.
Ruby Jean?
What a God damn waste.
Did you do this to Ruby Jean?
You bastard!
Curious.
Remarkable!
They travel the universe
seeking new life forms!
They're explorers!
Jean?
Jean!
Jean!
Jean!
Jean!
I'll get you out, Jean.
Hold on tight, Jean!
Jean!
Rossy, come in.
Tommy, come in.
Jean!
They're not explorers.
They're conquerors!
Wait one moment, Jean!
I'll get you out of there.
Hold tight, Jean.
I will return.
I'm going.
I'm going with you.
You're outta your minds.
Then stay.
Well, I'm obviously going with you.
Professor?
What are you doing out here?
And what was that bright light I saw?
There's no time to explain.
There's a spaceship from
another world in that clearing,
and if I'm correct,
they intend to take over the Earth!
Spaceship?
You're starting to sound like Gibbons.
You've been sampling his corn liquor?
This is no time for jokes.
We need to act fast!
What on earth?
I can assure you, Sheriff,
that sound you're
hearing is not of this earth.
Now, we must move quickly!
Well, lead the way.
Is that Gibbons?
What's left of him.
Where in the hell's his head?
You haven't been listening. Sheriff.
Under no circumstances
must we allow that ship
to leave this planet.
And if I'm correct,
they won't be able to.
Well, what's that supposed to be?
I think it's some sort of fuel cell.
I'm not gonna wait and find out.
No, no, it's too risky!
From what you've told me,
that ship is nothing but
bad news in every direction.
My assistant, Jean
Lockyear, is on that craft.
Okay, Wernher von Braun,
what are we gonna do
about it?
We need to come up with a plan
to get that alien off that
ship.
Quick, Sheriff, take your shot!
We may not get another chance!
Only need one shot, Professor.
Sheriff!
Professor!
You must get that fuel cell!
Get that fuel cell!
Go for it, Eddie!
I've got you covered.
- Why do I gotta go?
- You're faster than me.
And besides, I got a supinated gait.
What does your front
gate gotta do with anything?
What? - What?
You said front gate? - I'll do it.
What? - No, I'll do it.
I got it, okay?
I got it.
I'll distract him.
On three.
One,
two,
three!
Oh, sh-
Chuck!
No!
Eddie!
What are we gonna do, Eddie?
Where's it at?
Where's my slingshot?
Where's it at?
Okay, okay, okay.
We got one shot, okay.
Okay, I need another rock or something.
Hurry!
Here!
Take this.
Eddie, hurry!
You must act now.
Steady.
Come on.
Steady.
I hope you enjoyed your
time here in Beutter County,
but now, it's time for you to go.
Bingo.
Nice shot, Sheriff.
Couldn't have done it
without the help of these kids.
Where do you think
he came from, Professor?
He came from another world, Eddie.
But he underestimated
our ability to fight back.
Come, Sheriff,
let's get Jean off that ship.
Poor Chuck.
I'm sorry for your loss, Eddie.
Uh-huh.
I saw you shining in the night
A silver hue
Bright like a dream
Oh, how you gleam
What makes me gaze
You wanna go to the dance?
The way that I do
It took you long enough to ask.
Oh, I'm so in love with you
With every twinkle
My heart sighs
In your glow, the world feels new
So close, yet far
My evening star
Holding me tight the way lovers do
Old fool, my heart belongs to you
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town
What on earth could go wrong
Run around
Hope I'm not coming off strong
Feel the sound, boogie down
Dance to the very last song
So let's run, run all night long
Run around all night long
Well, we'll hop in my car
It's a shiny new thing
We'll cruise on down the avenue
Just you and me
While the neon signs flicker
Do like this all night
I'll pull you close
Yeah, you feel so right
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town, fool around
What on earth could go wrong
Run around, hope I'm
not coming off strong
Feel the sound, boogie down
Dance to the very last song
So let's run around all
night, run around all night long
You can give me the shakes
Oh, yes, kissin' at the drive in
We'll be out past midnight
Oh, a tank full of gas
Ooh, yeah, let's go everywhere
We got no where to be
So let's run, run around all night long
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town, fool around
What on earth could go wrong
Run around, hope I'm
not coming off strong
Feel the sound
One, two, three!
Run around all night long
Go!
Get back, Dan. - Fuck!
Holy shit!
The neon lights are calling
The city, she's alive
I'm feeling good, let's stomp some wood
Let's boogie and let's jive
The band sure is a playing fast
And the beer is oh so cold
I'm feeling tight, we're
going to swing all night
Get hotter than that
stove
We're going out tonight,
'til the morning light
Gonna paint this town red
We're going to have a ball
Stomp the wall, get
liquored and get fed
For eons, there was a silence.

I just pulled into the
Marko place out here.
I'll get on that as soon as I get done
with barnyard mystery.
Standing by.
I ain't never gonna get
home for dinner tonight.
Lord above.
Why?
And my chickens!
What's this European
Clydehopper up to now?
Mr. Marko?
Mr. Marko?
Hey, Sheriff!
It's Deputy, thank you.
You made a call on the Sheriff's Office?
No, sheriff, I didn't call, no.
My wife, she called.
Okay, and what is this pertaining to?
This guy, guy is killing my chickens.
He's ripping the head off.
Your chicken.
Who did this?
This guy.
He look like a underwater Olympic gymnast.
And he did what now?
Killing my chicken with like instrument.
An instrument?
Yeah, it's not like tuba, Sheriff.
It's more like bicycle pump, okay?
It look like a, it's got a
pointy thing on the end.
It shoot like red light, maybe blue light.
No, Sheriff, it's red light.
I don't think the color matters, sir.
No problem, okay?
I'll take care of it, eh? - No, no, no.
Wait, sir, please!
I will investigate the
situation on your property.
Please, you can rest here.
I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Are you sure?
Yes, sir.
Okay, well, hold on, Sheriff.
Hold on!
Let me put the gun away.
I'm gonna go with you, okay?
I have Fox Deluxe, eh?
No, I cannot partake
while I'm on duty, sir.
I appreciate the offer.
Oh, okay, if you're sure.
I wait here.
I drink.
When you come back, we drink together, huh?
Thank you, Mr. Marko.
I will get right back to you.
Okay, Sheriff.
Good luck, eh?
All right, thank you.
And it's Deputy, thank you.
What?
Good luck, Sheriff!
There's nothing we can do, Eddie.
Yeah, we'll just let the
grownups handle this one.
Besides, do you wanna
get vaporized or something?
I don't want anyone
to get vaporized, Chuck!
Who knows who could be next?
It could be us, friends, family.
You saw what happened to
Gibbons, and he had a shotgun!
I wouldn't mind if he
vaporized my step daddy.
Chuck, you need to take
this a little more seriously.
Well, what are we
supposed to do then, huh?
Kindly ask them to not
decapitate the good people
of Beutter County?
That's enough, Chuck!
He's right though, Eddie.
What can we do?
I don't know.
We don't do something now,
there won't be nobody
left to do something later.
Excuse me, sir?
Can you stand up, please?
Sir, I'm gonna have to ask
you to turn around, please.
We're gonna have a little talk here.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
I need you to put that away.
I need you to put that away now,
so we can have a discussion,
like two normal gentlemen.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate that.
Now, is that a dead chicken you have there?
What is going on here?
Do you understand me now?
What are you wearing on your head?
Boy, are you some sort
of pilot or something?
Did you have a crash? whoa!
My bowling hand!
Why'd you have to do that, mister?
Gibbon!
Is that you?
Poor bastard.
Drunken hillbillies
and shotguns are not a good combination.
Even a hillbilly like you
couldn't be that drunk.
Curious.
Jesus, Mary, and-
Joseph?
You're fourth in line right now.
I've been getting whack a
doodle calls all damn night!
Now, you sit tight.
I'll send Rossy by just as soon as I can.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
You tell Erdle May I said bye to you.
Rossy, come back now.
Rossy, you out there?
Tommy, pick up the damn radio!
Going after him, aren't you, Sheriff?
Going after who, Hank?
The God damn spaceman!
It's like I told Tommy
earlier, I saw a green man
with a fish bowl on his head,
digging the hole off the back
of Montgomery Lawson's place.
Then, he jumped into some sort
of flying space capsule and flew off!
Hank, I believe the only
thing you've seen tonight is
the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Well, I do like to
drink a little, Sheriff.
Okay, a lot.
But I know what I saw!
Well, what you say is
true, make room in there.
I always get my man.
Ain't no man, Sheriff!
Well, hot dog.
Ruby Jean?
What a God damn waste.
Did you do this to Ruby Jean?
You bastard!
Curious.
Remarkable!
They travel the universe
seeking new life forms!
They're explorers!
Jean?
Jean!
Jean!
Jean!
Jean!
I'll get you out, Jean.
Hold on tight, Jean!
Jean!
Rossy, come in.
Tommy, come in.
Jean!
They're not explorers.
They're conquerors!
Wait one moment, Jean!
I'll get you out of there.
Hold tight, Jean.
I will return.
I'm going.
I'm going with you.
You're outta your minds.
Then stay.
Well, I'm obviously going with you.
Professor?
What are you doing out here?
And what was that bright light I saw?
There's no time to explain.
There's a spaceship from
another world in that clearing,
and if I'm correct,
they intend to take over the Earth!
Spaceship?
You're starting to sound like Gibbons.
You've been sampling his corn liquor?
This is no time for jokes.
We need to act fast!
What on earth?
I can assure you, Sheriff,
that sound you're
hearing is not of this earth.
Now, we must move quickly!
Well, lead the way.
Is that Gibbons?
What's left of him.
Where in the hell's his head?
You haven't been listening. Sheriff.
Under no circumstances
must we allow that ship
to leave this planet.
And if I'm correct,
they won't be able to.
Well, what's that supposed to be?
I think it's some sort of fuel cell.
I'm not gonna wait and find out.
No, no, it's too risky!
From what you've told me,
that ship is nothing but
bad news in every direction.
My assistant, Jean
Lockyear, is on that craft.
Okay, Wernher von Braun,
what are we gonna do
about it?
We need to come up with a plan
to get that alien off that
ship.
Quick, Sheriff, take your shot!
We may not get another chance!
Only need one shot, Professor.
Sheriff!
Professor!
You must get that fuel cell!
Get that fuel cell!
Go for it, Eddie!
I've got you covered.
- Why do I gotta go?
- You're faster than me.
And besides, I got a supinated gait.
What does your front
gate gotta do with anything?
What? - What?
You said front gate? - I'll do it.
What? - No, I'll do it.
I got it, okay?
I got it.
I'll distract him.
On three.
One,
two,
three!
Oh, sh-
Chuck!
No!
Eddie!
What are we gonna do, Eddie?
Where's it at?
Where's my slingshot?
Where's it at?
Okay, okay, okay.
We got one shot, okay.
Okay, I need another rock or something.
Hurry!
Here!
Take this.
Eddie, hurry!
You must act now.
Steady.
Come on.
Steady.
I hope you enjoyed your
time here in Beutter County,
but now, it's time for you to go.
Bingo.
Nice shot, Sheriff.
Couldn't have done it
without the help of these kids.
Where do you think
he came from, Professor?
He came from another world, Eddie.
But he underestimated
our ability to fight back.
Come, Sheriff,
let's get Jean off that ship.
Poor Chuck.
I'm sorry for your loss, Eddie.
Uh-huh.
I saw you shining in the night
A silver hue
Bright like a dream
Oh, how you gleam
What makes me gaze
You wanna go to the dance?
The way that I do
It took you long enough to ask.
Oh, I'm so in love with you
With every twinkle
My heart sighs
In your glow, the world feels new
So close, yet far
My evening star
Holding me tight the way lovers do
Old fool, my heart belongs to you
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town
What on earth could go wrong
Run around
Hope I'm not coming off strong
Feel the sound, boogie down
Dance to the very last song
So let's run, run all night long
Run around all night long
Well, we'll hop in my car
It's a shiny new thing
We'll cruise on down the avenue
Just you and me
While the neon signs flicker
Do like this all night
I'll pull you close
Yeah, you feel so right
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town, fool around
What on earth could go wrong
Run around, hope I'm
not coming off strong
Feel the sound, boogie down
Dance to the very last song
So let's run around all
night, run around all night long
You can give me the shakes
Oh, yes, kissin' at the drive in
We'll be out past midnight
Oh, a tank full of gas
Ooh, yeah, let's go everywhere
We got no where to be
So let's run, run around all night long
So let's run, run around all night long
Hit the town, fool around
What on earth could go wrong
Run around, hope I'm
not coming off strong
Feel the sound
One, two, three!
Run around all night long
Go!
Get back, Dan. - Fuck!
Holy shit!
The neon lights are calling
The city, she's alive
I'm feeling good, let's stomp some wood
Let's boogie and let's jive
The band sure is a playing fast
And the beer is oh so cold
I'm feeling tight, we're
going to swing all night
Get hotter than that
stove
We're going out tonight,
'til the morning light
Gonna paint this town red
We're going to have a ball
Stomp the wall, get
liquored and get fed
