["House Of Refuge"
by Maynz plays]
[woman vocalizing]
Hi, hello
How do you do?
This is my house
A refuge
[bird chirping]
[suspenseful music playing]
[reporter] Again,
you are looking at footage
from what was
a pretty heated scene
outside of the West Covina
Police Department
this afternoon,
where friends and family
of eight missing women of color
gathered to protest
what they say
is the inaction
and the [indistinct]
of the detectives
at the Department
and Department as a whole.
-Take a look.
-[woman groans in pain]
[woman]
We've been asking for help.
We've been calling
and showing up.
We've been asking.
If they were white girls,
you know they'd be looking
if they were white.
[reporter] That last plea,
if you will,
was from Melissa Irby,
mother of missing
college student Samantha Irby,
thought to possibly be a victim
or one of eight missing women
whose last known whereabouts,
I-- I guess
that would be the [indistinct],
the last known whereabouts
was the West Covina Motel
parking lot.
Now, long-term residents
of that motel
and those who live
in nearby say
they have been reporting
strange goings on,
like screams, and other
odd sounds in the night,
but they have been
ignored by police.
In fact, two neighbors
that wish to remain anonymous
for fear of retribution
say that they were threatened
with nuisance tickets
from police
if they continue
to call about [indistinct].
So they stopped.
The friends and family
that gathered today
accused the Department
of ignoring the victims
because six of the eight
were confirmed sex workers
and all were women of color.
The Department denies
those allegations
but is providing
little other information
on the potential of finding
any of these women alive.
And neighbors are terrified
because police
are also not denying
that there may be a danger
to the community at large.
Now, all of this came to
a head yesterday afternoon
when Samantha Irby was taken,
and that is the word used
by lead detective Michael Ho
at today's news conference.
I quote,
"Video evidence has surfaced
indicating
that Samantha Irby was taken,
not of her own free will,
from a motel parking lot
in West Covina."
Again, this was one
of many shocking revelations
from today's sort of impromptu
news conference
on the steps of the West Covina
police station.
Police say
up to eight women are presumed
to have been taken.
Investigators did not comment
on what kind of video evidence
they had obtained,
or how or from what source,
or whether that evidence
would be made public.
There was also no response
when asked
if they expected to find
any of those
missing women alive.
They answered
very few questions,
in fact, leaving many...

[groans] Something? Look.
[exhales sharply]
That was a close one.
You telling me.
Let's get the hell out of here.
Get the fuck out of here.

O-- okay. It's-- it's okay.
-It's okay, it's okay.
-[woman groaning]
Okay. [panting]
I'm not gonna hurt you.
[woman shivering]
Okay. I'm not gonna--
I'm not gonna hurt you.
Okay, okay.
[woman groans in pain]
-What happened?
-I don't know.
[dramatic music playing]
[both panting]
-[groans in pain]
-Okay.
Okay, [indistinct].
Okay. I'm gonna be right back.
[woman panting]
[ominous music playing]
[kid] Mommy.
Mommy.
[kid humming]
[kid crying]
[woman groaning in pain]
[kid crying]
[woman panting]
[woman screaming]
[grunts] I'm com--
I'm coming! I'm coming!
-[woman groaning in pain]
-[panting] Okay.
[sighs] Just-- just relax, okay?
Just breathe
through your-- your nose.
[woman groaning in pain]
-[woman screaming]
-Oh, I'm sorry.
-Ow, ow, ow.
-I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
-Ow, ow. [cries]
-[woman grunts]
Oh, my God. I'm so sorry.
Just breathe [indistinct].
-Okay.
-[woman crying]
[woman panting] Oh, my...
-[woman hissing]
-Oh, my God.
What happened?
Who did this to you?
[crying in pain] I don't know.
I don't know. I don't remember.
I just remember
walking to my car.
That's the last thing
I remember.
I was at the mall.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
I know it hurts but I--
I have to put pressure on you.
-[woman screaming]
-I know. I know.
I'm sorry, honey. I'm sorry.
-Shh. Shh.
-[woman crying]
-Shh. Shh.
-[woman panting]
Shh. Shh. Okay.
Okay. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
That's looking better.
It's not as deep
as I thought, okay?
-[woman panting]
-Good. Good. Yeah.
Breathe in. You just relax.
What's your name?
What's your name?
-Huh?
-Samantha.
-Hi, Sam.
-Yeah, you can call me Sam.
-Good. Good, Sam.
-Ooh.
Okay, so you're just gonna relax
and breathe
through your nose, okay?
The calmer you are-- the calmer
you are, the better, okay?
What are you?
Are you a doctor
or a nurse or something?
[Sam groaning]
-I don't know. I don't think so.
-[Sam groaning]
What-- what does that mean?
-How did you get here?
-I don't know.
I, um...
I don't know.
I don't remember
anything.
I don't know my name.
You said-- you said you were
at a mall, though, right?
-Yeah.
-Yeah.
Then I see, like, a motel.
Yeah, there was--
there was a motel
across the street
from where I parked my car.
-[Sam grunting]
-Yeah.
Yeah, that's--
that's what I remember.
-Ow!
-Okay, pressure.
Okay. [groaning in pain]
Ow!
[Sam crying]
What is it?
Shoes.
It's-- it's women's shoes.
[woman sniffles]
We gotta get
the hell out of here.
-[Sam grunts]
-We are trapped. [sniffles]
[sighs]
All the doors are locked.
There's wood on all the windows.
Fuck that, there's gotta be
a way out of here.
No, I even--
even screamed at the--
some paintballers in the woods.
-They can't hear us.
-What?
They didn't hear me.
One of them fell into,
like, a dead fall and then...
[Sam screaming]
Sam. No. No, Sam.
-[Sam groans in pain]
-Sam, where are you going?
Sam! Oh, no.
Over there, in the living room.
They're-- Sam, they're gone.
They're...
-They didn't hear me, Sam.
-Hello?
-Sam, Sam.
-Hello?
-[Sam screaming]
-Okay, okay.
-Hello?
-Okay. Come on.
Come on. Please.
[both breathing heavily]
Oh.
[groaning in pain] Ow.
-Sam, it doesn't work.
-Ooh.
It-- Okay.
It doesn't work.
There's more
in the drawer over there.
They don't work.
They don't work, Sam.
-Okay.
-This is mine. [panting]
[indistinct]
They don't work.
They don't work!
-They don't-- Sam.
-Come on. No!
Okay, okay, okay, no.
Done, done, done.
-Come on. Come on.
-Okay.
[grunts] Okay.
[groaning in pain]
[panting]
What are we in,
a fucking time warp?
[both panting]
Was your phone in there?
-[grunts] What?
-What happened to your neck?
-Um, I don't-- I don't--
-What's that on your hands?
[woman] I don't know.
Um...
you should elevate
your feet, though.
Okay. Let's--
Sam, let's...
-[Sam] Ow!
-Oh, let's--
let's elevate your feet.
Okay.
[both breathing heavily]
Help!
[eerie music playing]
[panting]
[Sam groaning]
-What is it?
-Nothing.
[woman panting]
What the fuck?
Oh, is that blood?
[both breathing heavily]
[high-pitched tone playing]
[door clicks open]
Jesus!
[door shuts closed]
[gasps]
-[Sam grunts]
-What is that?
[saw scraping]
What is that?
Sam, it's too dull.
That's not gonna work.
Sam, you're gonna hurt yourself.
-[Sam screaming]
-Sam, it's...
-It's-- it's too dull, Sam.
-Fine!
I'll try one
of the other windows
in the other room, then.
[woman]
What is that gonna do, Sam?
Sam.
[both panting]
Sam, listen, okay? Please.
Sam, it's not gonna work!
[chain rattling]
[chuckles]
[panting] Hello? Hello?
Hello?
Help! Help! Help! Help! Hello!
-Ow!
-Sam!
Sam! Sam, Sam!
-Sam!
-Okay!
-I'll try the living room then.
-No!
No, if whoever
brought us here comes back,
they will see you.
There's glass everywhere!
[distorted]
They're gonna see us!
Yeah. Yeah.
You're right,
I'll cl-- I'll clean it up.
What is-- what is with you?
[panting] I'm fine.
I'm fine.
[woman whimpering]
[dramatic music playing]
[panting]
[grunting in pain]
Those yours?
[somber music playing]
I don't know.
They fit.
Maybe you should...
I'm good.
[saw scraping]
[grunts]
[glass clinking]
[breathing heavily]
[ominous music playing]
[woman choking]
[panting]
-[Sam grunts in effort]
-[saw scraping]
[screaming]
[whining]
[screaming]
[thudding]
Sam? Sam?
[thudding]
What? What happened?
-Sam, what-- what happened?
-I see it.
I just need
a-- a rope or a hook.
Sam, it's not working.
Okay, fine.
You do what you want.
I'm gonna get
the hell out of here.
[dramatic music playing]
Oh, my God,
that's not long enough.
That's not gonna work, Sam.
Look, okay, that's not...
Sam.
Sam.
Goddammit!
-Look what you made me do!
-I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
[indistinct]
[cutlery clattering]
[groans in effort]
-Trisha.
-What?
I think that's my name.
-Trisha.
-[Sam grunting]
So now you remember your name.
Sam, I just remember
someone calling me that.
Okay, Trisha, well,
why don't you go get a knife
and help me with this door?
That's not gonna work, Sam.
Oh, so you remember your name,
now you know everything?
No, I've tried it before,
it doesn't--
that's-- that's
not gonna work, okay?
Fine. Maybe this will.
[Sam panting]
-Sam, don't.
-[Sam screaming]
Sam, you have
to control yourself.
-[Sam screaming]
-Sam! Stop, please. Stop.
-[Sam groaning in pain]
-Okay? Stop.
Sam! Sam, oh, my God!
[indistinct] hiding
inside a fucking wall
in here for all I care!
[indistinct]
[groans in pain]
[grunting]
[sighs]
[somber music playing]
[Sam breathing heavily]
[Sam groaning in pain]
[sighs] Let me see it.
[sighs] Oh, God.
[door creaking]
Are you ready?
[Sam yelling] Fuck.
[Sam groaning in pain]
Okay. [grunts]
[Sam shivering]
How you doing?
-[Trisha sighs]
-Just peachy.
How'd you get here?
[sniffles] You said
you were starting
to remember things.
-Who brought you here?
-I don't know, Sam.
Look, if you're starting
to remember things,
then you need to say something.
Because sooner or later,
someone is gonna
come through that door,
and I wanna know
what we're up against.
Yeah, so do I.
S-- [sighing]
I remember
driving in a car, Sam.
And pulling into a parking lot.
[Sam] How did you--
how did you get there?
-How did you get in the car?
-I-- I don't know!
-Who was driving?
-I don't know!
-Well--
-I don't know!
-Trisha.
-Mmm.
What made you
remember your name?
I-- I-- I just remember
someone saying it in a car.
[distorted voice] Trisha.
It's a whisper, okay?
It's a voice.
Yeah, a phantom shadow
that neither of us can remember,
so maybe we were drugged.
Fucking asshole!
-Sam--
-Fuck you, fucking asshole!
Fuck you, you fucking pervert!
Probably watching us right now.
Probably watching this!
You're probably recording this!
Son of a bitch.
Ha!
The Collection.
I know this book.
It's about a man
who kidnaps a woman
and forces her
to fall in love with him.
Fuck this.
Fuck this shit. Huh.
[sighs]
Hey. Hey, Sam.
We are gonna get out of this.
You hear me? We are.
He-- he probably
isn't even coming back.
I mean, he's left us here.
Right?
He's left us here.
I mean, he's not-- he's--
he's not gonna come back.
-Maybe.
-Are you k-- kidding me?
Look around you.
Somebody clearly
fucking lives here.
The girl in that book dies.
It's been a long time, okay?
He's probably
on his way back now!
-Sam--
-He could come back any minute!
The police
are gonna be here, okay?
They're looking for us.
Police? Yeah.
Two brown girls go missing?
We're on our fucking own.
[scoffs] Yeah.
Nah!
I'm fine.
[Trisha sobs]
[birds chirping]
[crying]
[grunting]
[panting]
[ominous music playing]
[paper rustling]
What's that?
What is it?
[woman shuddering]
[woman breathing heavily]
Well, uh...
I guess that answers, um...
our question about a phantom.
The answer was
right under our fucking faces.
[panting]
We're gonna figure it out.
Figure what out? We've been...
kidnapped by
a fucking serial killer.
What is there to figure out?
[Trisha sobbing]
Trisha.
Trisha.
[Sam grunts]
-Trisha.
-[woman crying]
Um...
I'm-- I'm sorry.
[woman sighs]
We're trapped in here like...
mice in a cage
waiting for a fucking snake.
[sighs] Maybe not.
[laughs]
Sam!
Maybe not. [sniffles]
[groans in effort]
Come on, Sam, come on!
-Up, up, up!
-What, are we gonna dig?
[both grunting]
[suspenseful music playing]
Look at this.
We tunnel out under the house.
Tunnel?
Yeah.
What? Yeah, all right.
Uh, whatever.
Let's do it!
Sam.
What? I-- I love this plan.
-Okay. No, no, no, no.
-Let's go.
What if they come back
and we're digging
and we don't have
a chance to hide [indistinct]?
We would literally be
stuck in here.
We'll be done
before they get back.
You just said they could be
coming back any second.
Okay. Then do we chill here?
I mean,
where do you want to die?
[Sam coughs]
[both grunting in effort]
-It's too deep.
-Yes, yes, it's a little deeper.
It's-- it's a little deeper.
Okay.
[Trisha grunting]
Fine, let's keep going.
[ominous music playing]
[Sam screaming] I-- I'm--
[shudders]
I need to get-- I need to--
I need to get out of here.
-I have to get out of here. I--
-Sam.
[breathing shakily]
[groaning in pain]
Put pressure on it, Sam.
Did you hear me?
Yeah, I fucking heard you.
[sighs]
[groans] It's really...
[sighs] It's nothing
to be ashamed of, okay?
Ashamed?
What the fuck does that mean?
You know what? Leave me alone.
I don't need any more
of your know-it-all bullshit.
You and this asshole
can go to hell.
[Trisha scoffs]
You know what, Sam?
This.
This is who we're fighting.
And if we keep
at each other's throats,
then this fucker's
gonna kill us.
[Trisha sighs]
[Sam grunting in pain]
[panting]
-Something's not right.
-What?
There's three people
in this photo.
This is a selfie.
No, there's a third person
in the-- in the window.
[Trisha exhales sharply]
[distorted] So,
we're dealing with...
two people?
[birds chirping]
What if [indistinct]?
There's only one set
of tire tracks.
So they're probably together.
[Sam stuttering]
Sam?
Are you okay?
[Sam retching]
[Trisha] Oh.
Oh, my God, Sam. Oh, my God.
-[Sam shivering]
-Oh.
-Oh, my God. Okay.
-[Sam groaning in pain]
Oh. Okay, okay.
Stay with me,
stay with me. [grunting]
[Sam breathing heavily]
Sam, move your hands.
-Move your hands, Sam.
-Okay.
[Sam screaming]
[panting]
Oh, my God.
So sorry [indistinct].
I'm so sorry. [panting]
[groans]
You know it's bad luck
to wear a dead person's shoes.
I stopped the bleeding, okay?
Just lay still. [grunts]
I'm going
to take care of everything.
[Trisha breathing heavily]
-What time is it?
-[Trisha sighs]
Don't worry about that. Come on.
This is gonna take the edge off.
-Oh, I hate beer.
-Come on.
[Sam slurping]
-Okay.
-Oh, God.
You spilt it on me
like a frat bro.
You're welcome.
I need to sleep.
Sam, you need
to stay awake, okay?
-You have a fever.
-I'm tired.
Leave me alone.
Okay, Sam.
Can you just keep
talking to me, though?
-Can you just keep talking?
-Mmm.
Sam?
Still trapped
in this creepy fucking house
And I'm still stabbed
[chuckles]
[dramatic music playing]
You don't sing?
[smacks lips]
I don't know that song.
[Sam scoffs]
Are you always
this much of a goody-two-shoes,
or is that just
when you're kidnapped?
What's your problem?
I'm... just trying to help you.
You're actually getting
on my damn nerves.
Wh-- what's my problem?
What's your problem?
Why don't you feel things?
Why don't--
why aren't you angry?
Why don't you get mad
or something?
Like, do something like
a normal human being.
Be a normal person.
[groaning]
Okay, because the best thing
that we can do
-in this situation...
-Ow!
...would be to stay calm...
so we can figure out
how to get out of this.
And by the way, I'm just trying
to save your life, okay?
And you're getting
on my damn nerves, too.
Is that real enough for you?
Huh?
[mouthing words silently]
What are you doing?
Looking for something.
A key, uh, more cell phones,
I don't know.
[screams]
What?
[scoffs] What the fuck?
Why do they even have that?
This must have been
some old lady's house.
I wonder what happened to her.
Those motherfuckers.
[Trisha] I know.
Everything's okay.
We're getting out of this.
We're getting out of here.
Okay? I promise you.
You sound like my mother.
[somber music playing]
Your mother?
Yeah, she's always
trying to get me
to see the world differently.
I'm sure she's just trying
to protect you.
But I don't need protection.
-I'm fine.
-Yes.
Tough guy like you,
Sam, obviously.
But you know you're always
gonna be her baby.
Yeah, but we haven't spoken...
I mean, we haven't seen
each other in over a year.
We speak, we speak all the time.
She calls me every weekend,
like clockwork,
to tell me about some vision
that she had or some dream or...
to warn me about
some impending doom, uh...
[Sam sighs]
You haven't seen your mother
in over a year?
It's complicated.
You're starting to remember.
Yeah, I'm starting
to remember that
I'll probably
never see her again.
Don't say that, Sam.
Don't say that.
Stay positive, okay?
Why?
Because what is the alternative?
Seeing things
for actually how they are
instead of through
rose-colored glasses?
Okay.
Well, I see this as two options.
We sink or we swim,
and I'm going to do the latter.
[Trisha panting]
All right. What do we do?
I don't know.
Just tell me more
about your mother.
-Is she psychic?
-What? No. She's not.
She j--
she honestly just does it
for attention ever since my...
my brother died.
Um, she's always claiming
to see him in visions and...
dreams and shit.
And you don't believe her.
Would you?
Impending doom.
This all seems pretty terrible.
Maybe she's on to something.
What else did she say?
What else did she say?
What else?
That there was an evil
coming after me
and I needed to run from it.
Yin and yang are bleeding.
Blood everywhere.
Blood, blood.
So much blood everywhere.
Yeah, and a clock
is right twice a day.
It doesn't help us.
Okay. I guess I'm just reaching.
Tell me more about your mother.
She hates me.
Uh, no, she...
she doesn't hate me.
Um, she just...
my mom is a good person.
She's just...
a smotherer.
[chuckles]
Yeah, I get that.
What? You get that?
Like, is your mom a smotherer?
Are you remembering?
Are you a mother?
I have a daughter.
You do?
Where is she?
-[box thudding]
-[woman screaming]
[eerie music playing]
[woman screaming]
[Sam] Oh, fuck.
Are those dildos?
[Trisha whining]
You know what?
I think you're right.
I think the only way
that we're getting out of here
is if we break
the-- the fucking wall!
-Ow!
-Help! Help!
[screaming]
[thudding]
[wood cracking]
Trisha!
[screaming]
It's-- it's okay.
-[screaming]
-No! Oh, it's okay, it's okay.
[crying]
How can we be okay?
We're stuck in this house
and my kid
is out there somewhere!
[Trisha screaming]
Help! Help!
[Trisha crying]
[tense music playing]
[indistinct]
I feel like I've...
I've been here before.
Here?
I just can't explain it, but...
Like camping or something?
I-- I don't know, maybe.
Maybe.
Oh, so that means
that there's houses.
So we could probably start,
like, a smoke fire.
You know? Smoke signal.
-Outside the window.
-We're stuck in here.
We'll burn ourselves up.
[crying]
No, the only way that
that door is opening
is when they come back.
[sobbing]
-Right.
-[Trisha panting]
With whatever fucking weapons
that they use to...
murder us.
[playing an ominous piano chord]
Sorry.
So we get 'em first.
How?
We kill them
when they walk in the door.
[dramatic music playing]
We'll start with these.
Catch them by surprise
when they walk through the door.
We might get the first one,
but the second one
could get away.
We can't chance it, we need
to get them in the house.
-Then we bum-rush them.
-Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Let's be smart.
We draw them to us.
I need to be
in the same position
I was when they left.
Okay, so I'm lying
on the floor over there.
Right?
Okay.
The first guy
comes through the door.
And as he approaches me,
I'm gonna stab him in the foot.
But why would he approach you
if he already knows
to expect you there?
Okay. Right.
I'm gonna make
a slight movement.
A sound.
-[Trisha exclaims]
-[man groans]
[screaming]
What about the other guy?
He's gonna be coming in
right behind his buddy,
and this is where you come in.
As soon as this guy goes down,
you just-- you jump out
and you kill
the motherfucker, okay?
[Sam exclaiming]
I had to really make sure
he was dead.
Nice.
Wait. What if they have guns?
It's not gonna work.
We have to disarm them.
We have to get them
off balance and get their guns
or we're never getting out
of this house.
-[Sam grunts]
-Sam, you okay?
Yeah, I'm fine.
The baby's kicking.
You ever wonder
what's really going on here?
Why us?
Did we do something
to deserve it?
No one deserves this.
Yeah, but like, why you?
Why me?
Why anyone?
Why a little, innocent kid
walking home from school?
I don't know.
Maybe we're not so innocent.
I don't know.
I don't-- I-- I-- you're right.
All right, we should
really keep our heads on,
um, if we're gonna
get through this thing.
I must really be tired.
[exhales sharply]
Oh, if only I could just sleep.
No.
You know you have to stay awake.
And I have to pee.
I can't hold it. I'm going.
[Trisha] Oh, my God.
The toilet is filthy!
What did you expect?
Put some toilet paper
on the seat.
[Trisha] No. No,
I'm not sitting, I'm hovering.
You know, maybe they--
we're worrying for nothing.
I mean, how long has it been?
Like, like three or four hours.
Maybe no one's coming back.
Maybe they left us here.
They will.
They will.
And we don't have a plan yet.
[gasps]
What?
The fucking mannequin
just scared the shit out of me.
Wait.
Maybe there's a way
to get them both
to rush into the bedroom.
When they open the door,
instead of seeing you
on the floor...
they hear this door close.
[woman]
What if they go looking for me?
We'll have bait.
Then, you take the first one,
I'll take the second.
[exclaiming]
[both women exclaiming]
Oh, my God, that's gonna work.
That's gonna work.
We have to make this place
look exactly like it did
when they left.
But this is gonna work!
You got him.
I got him.
I got him.
There's not much we can do
about this chair.
When they see it,
they're gonna panic.
What if we use it
as part of the distraction?
Like we set it up--
Um, I got it, I got it.
[Sam]
Like we set it up over here.
Yeah, and that draws them
towards the mannequin.
Yeah.
I'll clean the utensils.
Yeah, okay. Uh...
[Trisha groans]
[panting]
Hey, you okay?
I'm fine.
[both groan]
Let's see.
It's okay.
[Sam whimpers]
Okay, okay, pressure. Pressure.
-[Trisha groaning]
-Is it bad?
Okay, I'll be right--
be right back.
I'm coming, Sam.
Okay. You ready?
-Yeah.
-One, two, three.
[Sam groans]
You're getting better at this.
Yeah, yeah.
I heard somewhere
that if I stay calm,
the pain is less intense.
Okay. We have to do this.
Sam, are you gonna be able
to do this?
Give me that.
Let's go.
[Sam groans]
[Trisha] Let me help.
-You ready?
-Yeah.
[Sam groaning]
-[Trisha] One more.
-Yeah.
-[Sam groans]
-One more.
Okay. [screams]
You're a fucking superwoman,
you know that?
Thanks.
We gotta hurry, okay?
[Trisha groans]
That's good.
Turn the mannequin head
a little bit away from me.
[groans]
Yeah, that should work.
[clattering]
[whispering] Is that them?
[Trisha shushes]
[clattering]
-What is that?
-[clattering]
[ominous instrumental]
What is that?
Oh, no! [groans]
I can't hear anything.
I don't see anything.
I don't see any lights,
I don't see any tracks.
Oh, my God, Sam.
I'm okay. I'm okay.
[door creaks]
-[clattering]
-[Trisha exclaims]
[Trisha gasps]
Oh.
It's a fucking branch.
[Trisha screaming]
[Sam groans]
[dramatic music plays]
-No, I don't want it.
-Okay, you can do it.
-No.
-You're okay.
-Okay.
-No.
Leave me alone.
No! No!
No! No, no! Leave me alone!
Leave me alone!
Just let me die!
Just let me die, please!
I didn't save him!
-Him?
-Just let me go.
Please let me go.
[sobs] I deserve to die.
What are you talking about?
No. Sam.
I let him die.
My brother.
He fell into a drainage pipe
when we were walking home
from school.
I was on my phone.
I wasn't paying attention.
-That's an accident.
-No.
I froze.
I froze.
All I had to do was reach out.
Okay, that's panicking.
I freaking froze.
How old were you?
I was 13.
I was old enough.
Please just...
-Trisha, please just let me die.
-Please don't.
-Please don't.
-I want to die.
Listen to me.
No, you're gonna make it.
No! Trisha!
Just let me die, please!
Just let me fucking die!
Shut the fuck up!
Shut the fuck up, bitch!
Shut the fuck up!
-[indistinct]
-No!
Let go of me! Let go of me!
Please, you have
to forgive yourself.
You have to.
Let go of me!
-Just let me go.
-No!
I wanna die.
I have so much sadness
inside of me.
I hate myself.
Listen to me.
You're gonna make it, okay?
You can make it.
You're gonna forgive yourself.
Okay? You're gonna
forgive yourself.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please, please.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please don't leave me
here alone, Sam.
Please, you have to fight.
You have to stay.
Please, Sam. Please.
Okay.
Yeah?
Okay.
Okay, please bite this.
[Sam groans]
Okay. Okay, here we go.
[groans]
[Trisha] Oh, yeah.
Yeah. That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Okay, okay.
Here we go, here we go.
[Sam] Oh, my God!
Sam?
Sam?
Yeah--
Hey, Sam? Sam? No.
[inaudible praying]
[Trisha gasps]
[indistinct]
She's back.
You just lay there, okay?
I'm gonna take care of you.
No, you...
you need me too.
You need us both.
So we'll just go back
to our original plan.
No, but we already
talked about it.
How are you going to be able
to take both of the guys?
We'll have two diversions.
Sam.
We'll set up the second body
in the living room.
How do you know
they're still going to split up?
They won't go
into two separate rooms.
I kill the first guy.
Then you create
a diversion out there.
And I kill that motherfucker.
Then we'll walk out of
here together.
Fuck yeah.
Yeah. I'm gonna move you.
[both groan]
You got it. Here we go.
-Ready?
-[both groan]
As soon as
I kill the first guy...
you're hiding behind that chair
and you make a noise.
Then I should bring
the second guy to you
and I pop out and I kill him.
Okay?
Sam.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Let's do it. [groans]
Sam.
Don't panic.
Don't panic, okay?
I promise this is going to
work out just like we think.
[Trisha screams]
[both gasping]
Let me get it.
Let me get it.
-Oh, no.
-Let me get it.
Dim the lights.
Dim the lights.
Sam, dim the lights.
-Dim lights.
-Okay.
[inaudible]
[indistinct]
[Trisha] You can do it.
Stay low. Stay low.
Oh, my God.
Fuck. Fucking crap.
[indistinct]
Oh, my God. Where's the knife?
[Trisha screams]
I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
[indistinct]
As soon as he comes in,
as soon as you hear that door.
Okay?
You're going to go in that room
and you're going to
break a window.
And then you hear the fucking...
Sam, break the window
and fucking hide.
Hide in the closet.
Hide in the closet, Sam.
Go!
-Sam!
-Okay. Okay. Okay.
[Trisha] Go!
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Okay.
[glass shatters]
[man grunts]
-[Sam exclaims]
-[man screams]
No, wait!
[man groans]
Please! [groans]
Where's the other guy, huh?
Where's the other guy?
What other guy?
Where's your
fucking partner, asshole?
Where's your
fucking partner, huh?
Is he waiting for us?
He's waiting?
Where's your
fucking partner, asshole?
You're my partner, baby.
You're my fucking partner.
You're my hope and devotion.
We're lifers, baby. It's me.
It's me. It's me.
What is he talking about?
He's fucking full of shit.
He's trying to trick us.
Don't go out there.
Hey. Hey. Hey.
I went to get your meds.
We had sex on the piano.
-Hey.
-You fucking liar.
Where did we fuck?
Where did we fuck?
[indistinct], remember?
We-- we came so hard
in each other.
We were so beautiful.
And I went to get your meds.
You forget sometimes.
You forget because
all your brain is mushed up.
How was that for you?
I don't feel good, baby.
I need my-- [clears throat]
I need my pills, baby.
Where is it at?
In my purse.
I'll be your Dr. Feelgood.
Oh, baby.
Baby, it's empty.
Why are you doing this to me?
I know.
I'm sorry, I forgot
to fill my prescription.
-Okay.
-Hey.
Come here, come here.
Huh?
Do you know how far we are
from the fucking town?
Can you do anything?
I'll get it.
-I'll get it myself.
-Yeah, you'll get it?
-I'll get it.
-You'll get it yourself.
[Valerie screams]
Oh, I'm sorry.
I don't mean to hurt you.
I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
[indistinct] like this.
I'm not letting you
go back into town.
Not letting
this gorgeous baby ass.
-Huh?
-[indistinct]
You're not gonna
go anywhere, baby.
No, you ain't
going anywhere, baby.
No, you're not gonna
go anywhere.
No.
I'm not letting you
go into fucking town.
Where's the money?
-Skeleton.
-Where's the money?
It's in the skeleton's head.
The last [indistinct].
Cheers. Nice.
I am totally parched.
Oh, my God.
[flies buzzing]
Ugh. Refreshing.
Oh, hey.
While I'm gone, my darling,
do not forget,
there's a dead whore
bleeding out right there, okay?
Just keep tabs, okay?
Spit spot.
Home sweet home.
Keep a fucking eye on things!
Love you.
[indistinct chatter over TV]
Your memory isn't so good,
that's why I had to go
get your meds.
Shut up! No, shut up!
Where is he?
What the hell
is he talking about?
What the hell
is he talking about?
No, no, no.
-[Trisha] Don't fucking move.
-No!
No, don't fucking move.
My back pocket.
Check my back pocket.
Fuck him. Fuck him. Let's go.
Please, I beg you. My ass.
-Back of my ass.
-Don't fucking move.
I swear to God,
I will fucking kill you.
I'll prove it to you.
I'll prove it to you, baby.
My back pocket.
Open the-- open the phone.
Hit redial.
What's that noise?
That's your phone.
In the purse.
I took the purse
with me to the store.
Trisha, what the hell
is he talking about?
-Call the police.
-[Trisha] This isn't me.
[Sam] Call the police.
She's not Trisha.
You're not Trisha!
You're Val.
You're Valerie.
You're Val.
You're Valerie, baby.
Don't you remember?
The memories.
-You found her.
-No.
-Yeah, baby.
-[Valerie] No.
I don't know you.
No, baby, please.
Trisha's that little whore
you picked up for me
at the bar last month.
Remember?
Remembers.
Hey, what's your name,
baby doll?
I'm Trisha.
[man] Trisha.
She was a little cutie
whoresy whores.
Trisha, fuck him.
Shut up, you cunt!
-No.
-Please put the knife down.
Don't fucking move.
I-- I'm just-- I'm gonna get
a picture from my wallet.
Look.
Look.
It's Nana.
Hey, hey.
It's Nana.
Nana, me and you.
Happy families.
Be-before she died,
left us the house.
How many legs does she have?
Just the one.
Poor Nana.
I miss her so much.
Baby.
Val.
Ray.
Ray, baby, that's right.
You remember.
Huh?
It was me and you, baby.
Me and you against the world.
I took you away from
all the bedpans
and bullshit, right?
What about your daughter?
[Ray mockingly]
"What about your daughter?"
I saved you.
I saved you, my love.
Because you
and your little fantasies...
We're both in fantasies.
Both of us, baby doll.
But how do we get out
of our fantasies?
How do we release them?
Daddy's got...
When everything gets too much,
look what Daddy's got.
Look what Daddy's got.
To get you straightened out.
[Valerie whines]
[Sam yelps]
-[Sam groans]
-Where do you want to go?
-Where do you want to go?
-[Sam groans]
-Okay, go.
-[Sam screams]
[groans]
Well, looky, looky.
We created quite the scene
here today, didn't we?
It's possibly outrageous.
Quite the party scene,
like a baby shower.
A dead baby shower,
don't you know?
It's a curse.
We don't need a fucking baby.
It's a curse, it's a curse.
[indistinct], please.
[incoherent mumbling]
Just get on with it!
-Get on with it!
-[Valerie screams]
I got you, baby.
-Trisha! Trisha!
-[Valerie sobbing]
[mockingly] "Trisha! Trisha!"
Me and you, baby.
Me and you.
Me and you against the world.
We are team number one.
Right?
Where you going?
Come on, baby.
-Yeah, come on.
-No.
-[indistinct]
-Yeah.
[Ray moaning]
Oh, yes, baby.
[indistinct]
Is that what you want?
Mmm. Yeah, I fucking want it.
Let's go out there, okay?
Let's go out there.
You're my baby, me and you.
Me and you against
all the bullshit.
Fuck.
I can't fucking get it off.
It's your fault!
I didn't like it.
I told you I didn't like it.
I didn't like it.
It's not my choice.
It's your choice. [screams]
Kill.
You're a fucking dead weight.
You're gonna be
a real dead weight in a minute.
A real dead weight.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
Bye.
Where's the fucking knife?
But, Ray, we just got this one.
Mm-mm. That was a mistake.
I don't like it.
You chose it.
I'm gonna get rid of it.
[indistinct]
Let me do it.
-You wanna do it?
-I wanna do it, baby.
[Ray] Mmm.
This hot?
Let's just take a little time.
-[smacks skin]
-[Valerie chuckles]
Go do your business.
I'm gonna take a shit.
I'm sorry.
[screaming]
Shh.
Shh.
Now kill her.
-Yeah.
-[Valerie] No.
-What?
-Fucking kill her.
-Now!
-[Valerie yelps]
[Valerie sobbing and mumbling]
[Ray] You can't stab her, right?
So...
so why not shoot her?
[Valerie breathing heavily]
We don't have time
to muck about, though.
It's all over the news, right?
It's all over the news.
Little Miss Prissy's been
spreading fucking
vicious gossip.
Now they're looking for
all these fucking girls.
It's okay.
-[Sam exclaims]
-[Ray whoops]
[Sam grunts]
[yelps]
[screams]
Baby...
Baby,
go pack what you can, my love.
[groaning]
I'm gonna take care of
little Miss Prissy.
-[Sam] Move.
-Move.
-[Sam exclaims]
-Oh. Ouchie.
That's all we got?
Come on, then.
-[Sam screams]
-Hey!
Have a fucking party,
you stupid bitch.
-[Sam exclaims]
-Ooh.
Good job, baby.
[both scream]
Pervert!
[groans]
Go get her!
Wait!
Come here, you piece of shit.
Where y'all going?
[exclaims] Come here.
I will get you.
[Sam grunts]
Fuck.
Where you at?
Where you at?
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya!
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya!
[indistinct]
Fuck!
Don't you stop her!
-[Valerie yelps]
-[indistinct]
Run away, little Miss Prissy.
Hey!
Coming! Coming!
Let's split up now.
You go that way.
Hey, fucking give me that.
I can't trust you with that.
Go on, then!
-It's your fucking mate!
-[Valerie screams]
Sam. Sam.
I'm not gonna hurt you.
Where are you?
[Ray] I'm coming for you, bitch!
I'm coming for you, bitch!
Where are you?
I'm gonna find you,
little Miss Prissy!
Samantha!
[whispering] Sam.
[Ray] Oi!
What you got there?
It's just blood.
-Blood?
-It's blood.
She's not here, though.
It's fucking blood, though.
Circle back.
Fu-- fuck off.
Looks like half an abortion.
Huh. Huh.
Huh, Sa-- Samantha Irby!
2719,
West Oakland Avenue,
Californi-a.
Which is weird, because, uh,
I perused
[indistinct], right?
It says you live in a flat.
A flat!
In West Covina!
How'd you work
that one out, then?
Oh, wait, I know. I know.
Maybe-- maybe
you didn't change your address
when you left
the family abode, right?
Yeah! So now I know
where your mama lives!
Eh? Eh?
And I'm fucking
going to your mama, right?
Yeah!
Fucking get stuck in there!
I love moms!
I love an old bird!
Knows a thing or two
about a thing or two,
and they know
their fucking goddamn place!
Not some prissy
little fucking bitch like you!
Stuck-up cunt!
Yeah!
Yeah, oh!
I told Val, I said, "Valerie,
I do not want that girl!
I don't want her!"
Oh, Sammy!
[unhinged laughing]
Sammy! Oh! Oh!
Oh, it's gonna fucking suck
when I finally get
my hands on you, baby!
It's gonna fucking suck!
[gasps]
Oh, baby.
You're making it
too fucking easy, huh?
[muttering indistinctly]
Baby, let's go.
Let's fucking go.
Let's leave her.
-Let's--
-No!
I'm not going anywhere
until that bitch is dead.
She dies.
She fucking dies tonight!
[screams]
[groans]
[Ray laughs]
Gotcha!
Yeah.
We got her, baby.
Come here, darling.
Isn't that the kind of
piece of shit
that always kept you down,
made you feel small?
Now it's your turn.
No, no, Valerie, I--
Your turn, baby.
Finish it.
-I never hurt you, remember?
-[Ray] Do it.
-Come on, baby.
-Please, don't.
No. Don't.
[Ray] Do it.
I remember.
I fucking remember everything.
Of course you do.
[Valerie] Being used.
Being treated,
fucking made to feel like trash.
To feel like fucking nothing!
Not human.
No.
-Ray?
-Yeah.
Are you mad?
Not anymore.
You made me kill my baby.
-[gunshot bangs]
-[Sam yelps]
[dramatic instrumental]
-[kid yelps]
-Oh, I got you, I got you.
-Are you okay?
-I'm fine.
It's you I'm worried about.
What? But we're together.
I'm not leaving you.
You remember
what Mom used to say?
"Wherever you are, be there."
I'm where
I'm supposed to be, sis.
It's not your fault.
And it's not your time.
[Valerie groans]
[yelps]
[Valerie groaning]
[Sam groaning]
Sam.
No. No.
No.
Is he gone? Is he gone?
You can make it. [indistinct]
You have to make it, okay?
-[Sam sobbing]
-Okay.
Come with me.
Come with me.
No.
Come on.
No.
Go. Go!
[Valerie groans]
[panting]
-Hello?
-[woman over phone] [indistinct]
You're calling from Box 633.
-Yeah.
-[woman] Oh,
you're pretty far out there.
-Is this an emergency?
-[sobs]
Hello?
Okay, help is on the way.
Can you tell me what happened?
["House Of Refuge"
by Maynz plays]
Hi, hello
Hi, hello, and who are you?
Is this your house,
a refuge
What force do you
belong to?
Oh, please, I need to start
A new foundation for
a sturdy home
A place
I'm proud to call my own
I'll build the walls
and over stone
Oh, please,
I can't stay here alone
She listens close
when you don't know
And you're behind
a haunted door
It's not my soul
she's looking for
The one
who lived here long before
Hi, hello, we meet again
Inside the box
that you sent
An old address, an accident
You're half alive
without a vent
My heart, it aches
I feel it last
A love was here
and made to last
A trauma spread
like broken glass
I still find
pieces in the grass
You listen
close when we don't know
And you're
behind a haunted door
And in our dreams,
you're screaming for
The bedroom
that you once adored
Hi, hello
["House Of Refuge"
by Maynz plays]
[woman vocalizing]
Hi, hello
How do you do?
This is my house
A refuge
[bird chirping]
[suspenseful music playing]
[reporter] Again,
you are looking at footage
from what was
a pretty heated scene
outside of the West Covina
Police Department
this afternoon,
where friends and family
of eight missing women of color
gathered to protest
what they say
is the inaction
and the [indistinct]
of the detectives
at the Department
and Department as a whole.
-Take a look.
-[woman groans in pain]
[woman]
We've been asking for help.
We've been calling
and showing up.
We've been asking.
If they were white girls,
you know they'd be looking
if they were white.
[reporter] That last plea,
if you will,
was from Melissa Irby,
mother of missing
college student Samantha Irby,
thought to possibly be a victim
or one of eight missing women
whose last known whereabouts,
I-- I guess
that would be the [indistinct],
the last known whereabouts
was the West Covina Motel
parking lot.
Now, long-term residents
of that motel
and those who live
in nearby say
they have been reporting
strange goings on,
like screams, and other
odd sounds in the night,
but they have been
ignored by police.
In fact, two neighbors
that wish to remain anonymous
for fear of retribution
say that they were threatened
with nuisance tickets
from police
if they continue
to call about [indistinct].
So they stopped.
The friends and family
that gathered today
accused the Department
of ignoring the victims
because six of the eight
were confirmed sex workers
and all were women of color.
The Department denies
those allegations
but is providing
little other information
on the potential of finding
any of these women alive.
And neighbors are terrified
because police
are also not denying
that there may be a danger
to the community at large.
Now, all of this came to
a head yesterday afternoon
when Samantha Irby was taken,
and that is the word used
by lead detective Michael Ho
at today's news conference.
I quote,
"Video evidence has surfaced
indicating
that Samantha Irby was taken,
not of her own free will,
from a motel parking lot
in West Covina."
Again, this was one
of many shocking revelations
from today's sort of impromptu
news conference
on the steps of the West Covina
police station.
Police say
up to eight women are presumed
to have been taken.
Investigators did not comment
on what kind of video evidence
they had obtained,
or how or from what source,
or whether that evidence
would be made public.
There was also no response
when asked
if they expected to find
any of those
missing women alive.
They answered
very few questions,
in fact, leaving many...
[breathing heavily]
[suspenseful music playing]
[doorknob rattling]
[panting]
[groans in pain]
[panting]
[door thudding]
[panting]
Oh.
[whining] No!
[groaning in pain]
[groaning in effort]
[breathing heavily]
[grunts]
[light switch clicks]
[grunting]
[panting]
[ominous music playing]
-[distorted voice muttering]
-[gasping]
[panting]
[groaning in pain]
[glass shattering]
[somber music playing]
[sobbing]
[tense music playing]
[groaning in pain]
[panting]
[grunting in pain]
[breathing heavily]
[flies buzzing]
[cutlery clattering]
[groaning]
[scissors rattling]
[breathing heavily]
[ominous music playing]
[grunting]
[phone rings]
[breathing heavily]
[groaning in pain]
-[phone ringing]
-Uh...
[clears throat]
[operator] 9-1-1,
what's your emergency?
Hello, hello, I'm-- I'm-- I'm--
I'm stuck in a house that--
[line distorting]
[phone chimes]
[panting]
[screaming]
[gunshot popping]
[gunshots popping]
[ominous music playing]
[breathing heavily]
[gunshots popping]
[birds chirping]
[leaves rustling]
[gunshot popping]
[woman gasping]
[dramatic music playing]
[man grunting]
You all right? Yeah? Come here.
[both grunting]
[both panting]
What the hell?
Must be for pigs or something.
[groans] Something? Look.
[exhales sharply]
That was a close one.
You telling me.
Let's get the hell out of here.
Get the fuck out of here.
[sniffles]
[exhales sharply]
[ominous music playing]
[breathing heavily]
[shouting]
-[glass shattering]
-[screaming] Ow! Ow!
[sobbing]
[panting]
[woman] Hello?
[suspenseful music playing]
Hey.
[breathing heavily]
[sniffles]
[clears throat]
Hey.
[panting]
[woman groans]
Uh, h-- hello? [panting]
[glasses clattering]
[groans in effort]
[panting]
[dramatic music playing]
[gentle music playing]
[woman breathing heavily]
[woman] Okay.
-[clears throat] Hello?
-Hello?
O-- okay. It's-- it's okay.
-It's okay, it's okay.
-[woman groaning]
Okay. [panting]
I'm not gonna hurt you.
[woman shivering]
Okay. I'm not gonna--
I'm not gonna hurt you.
Okay, okay.
[woman groans in pain]
-What happened?
-I don't know.
[dramatic music playing]
[both panting]
-[groans in pain]
-Okay.
Okay, [indistinct].
Okay. I'm gonna be right back.
[woman panting]
[ominous music playing]
[kid] Mommy.
Mommy.
[kid humming]
[kid crying]
[woman groaning in pain]
[kid crying]
[woman panting]
[woman screaming]
[grunts] I'm com--
I'm coming! I'm coming!
-[woman groaning in pain]
-[panting] Okay.
[sighs] Just-- just relax, okay?
Just breathe
through your-- your nose.
[woman groaning in pain]
-[woman screaming]
-Oh, I'm sorry.
-Ow, ow, ow.
-I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
-Ow, ow. [cries]
-[woman grunts]
Oh, my God. I'm so sorry.
Just breathe [indistinct].
-Okay.
-[woman crying]
[woman panting] Oh, my...
-[woman hissing]
-Oh, my God.
What happened?
Who did this to you?
[crying in pain] I don't know.
I don't know. I don't remember.
I just remember
walking to my car.
That's the last thing
I remember.
I was at the mall.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
I know it hurts but I--
I have to put pressure on you.
-[woman screaming]
-I know. I know.
I'm sorry, honey. I'm sorry.
-Shh. Shh.
-[woman crying]
-Shh. Shh.
-[woman panting]
Shh. Shh. Okay.
Okay. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
That's looking better.
It's not as deep
as I thought, okay?
-[woman panting]
-Good. Good. Yeah.
Breathe in. You just relax.
What's your name?
What's your name?
-Huh?
-Samantha.
-Hi, Sam.
-Yeah, you can call me Sam.
-Good. Good, Sam.
-Ooh.
Okay, so you're just gonna relax
and breathe
through your nose, okay?
The calmer you are-- the calmer
you are, the better, okay?
What are you?
Are you a doctor
or a nurse or something?
[Sam groaning]
-I don't know. I don't think so.
-[Sam groaning]
What-- what does that mean?
-How did you get here?
-I don't know.
I, um...
I don't know.
I don't remember
anything.
I don't know my name.
You said-- you said you were
at a mall, though, right?
-Yeah.
-Yeah.
Then I see, like, a motel.
Yeah, there was--
there was a motel
across the street
from where I parked my car.
-[Sam grunting]
-Yeah.
Yeah, that's--
that's what I remember.
-Ow!
-Okay, pressure.
Okay. [groaning in pain]
Ow!
[Sam crying]
What is it?
Shoes.
It's-- it's women's shoes.
[woman sniffles]
We gotta get
the hell out of here.
-[Sam grunts]
-We are trapped. [sniffles]
[sighs]
All the doors are locked.
There's wood on all the windows.
Fuck that, there's gotta be
a way out of here.
No, I even--
even screamed at the--
some paintballers in the woods.
-They can't hear us.
-What?
They didn't hear me.
One of them fell into,
like, a dead fall and then...
[Sam screaming]
Sam. No. No, Sam.
-[Sam groans in pain]
-Sam, where are you going?
Sam! Oh, no.
Over there, in the living room.
They're-- Sam, they're gone.
They're...
-They didn't hear me, Sam.
-Hello?
-Sam, Sam.
-Hello?
-[Sam screaming]
-Okay, okay.
-Hello?
-Okay. Come on.
Come on. Please.
[both breathing heavily]
Oh.
[groaning in pain] Ow.
-Sam, it doesn't work.
-Ooh.
It-- Okay.
It doesn't work.
There's more
in the drawer over there.
They don't work.
They don't work, Sam.
-Okay.
-This is mine. [panting]
[indistinct]
They don't work.
They don't work!
-They don't-- Sam.
-Come on. No!
Okay, okay, okay, no.
Done, done, done.
-Come on. Come on.
-Okay.
[grunts] Okay.
[groaning in pain]
[panting]
What are we in,
a fucking time warp?
[both panting]
Was your phone in there?
-[grunts] What?
-What happened to your neck?
-Um, I don't-- I don't--
-What's that on your hands?
[woman] I don't know.
Um...
you should elevate
your feet, though.
Okay. Let's--
Sam, let's...
-[Sam] Ow!
-Oh, let's--
let's elevate your feet.
Okay.
[both breathing heavily]
Help!
[eerie music playing]
[panting]
[Sam groaning]
-What is it?
-Nothing.
[woman panting]
What the fuck?
Oh, is that blood?
[both breathing heavily]
[high-pitched tone playing]
[door clicks open]
Jesus!
[door shuts closed]
[gasps]
-[Sam grunts]
-What is that?
[saw scraping]
What is that?
Sam, it's too dull.
That's not gonna work.
Sam, you're gonna hurt yourself.
-[Sam screaming]
-Sam, it's...
-It's-- it's too dull, Sam.
-Fine!
I'll try one
of the other windows
in the other room, then.
[woman]
What is that gonna do, Sam?
Sam.
[both panting]
Sam, listen, okay? Please.
Sam, it's not gonna work!
[chain rattling]
[chuckles]
[panting] Hello? Hello?
Hello?
Help! Help! Help! Help! Hello!
-Ow!
-Sam!
Sam! Sam, Sam!
-Sam!
-Okay!
-I'll try the living room then.
-No!
No, if whoever
brought us here comes back,
they will see you.
There's glass everywhere!
[distorted]
They're gonna see us!
Yeah. Yeah.
You're right,
I'll cl-- I'll clean it up.
What is-- what is with you?
[panting] I'm fine.
I'm fine.
[woman whimpering]
[dramatic music playing]
[panting]
[grunting in pain]
Those yours?
[somber music playing]
I don't know.
They fit.
Maybe you should...
I'm good.
[saw scraping]
[grunts]
[glass clinking]
[breathing heavily]
[ominous music playing]
[woman choking]
[panting]
-[Sam grunts in effort]
-[saw scraping]
[screaming]
[whining]
[screaming]
[thudding]
Sam? Sam?
[thudding]
What? What happened?
-Sam, what-- what happened?
-I see it.
I just need
a-- a rope or a hook.
Sam, it's not working.
Okay, fine.
You do what you want.
I'm gonna get
the hell out of here.
[dramatic music playing]
Oh, my God,
that's not long enough.
That's not gonna work, Sam.
Look, okay, that's not...
Sam.
Sam.
Goddammit!
-Look what you made me do!
-I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
[indistinct]
[cutlery clattering]
[groans in effort]
-Trisha.
-What?
I think that's my name.
-Trisha.
-[Sam grunting]
So now you remember your name.
Sam, I just remember
someone calling me that.
Okay, Trisha, well,
why don't you go get a knife
and help me with this door?
That's not gonna work, Sam.
Oh, so you remember your name,
now you know everything?
No, I've tried it before,
it doesn't--
that's-- that's
not gonna work, okay?
Fine. Maybe this will.
[Sam panting]
-Sam, don't.
-[Sam screaming]
Sam, you have
to control yourself.
-[Sam screaming]
-Sam! Stop, please. Stop.
-[Sam groaning in pain]
-Okay? Stop.
Sam! Sam, oh, my God!
[indistinct] hiding
inside a fucking wall
in here for all I care!
[indistinct]
[groans in pain]
[grunting]
[sighs]
[somber music playing]
[Sam breathing heavily]
[Sam groaning in pain]
[sighs] Let me see it.
[sighs] Oh, God.
[door creaking]
Are you ready?
[Sam yelling] Fuck.
[Sam groaning in pain]
Okay. [grunts]
[Sam shivering]
How you doing?
-[Trisha sighs]
-Just peachy.
How'd you get here?
[sniffles] You said
you were starting
to remember things.
-Who brought you here?
-I don't know, Sam.
Look, if you're starting
to remember things,
then you need to say something.
Because sooner or later,
someone is gonna
come through that door,
and I wanna know
what we're up against.
Yeah, so do I.
S-- [sighing]
I remember
driving in a car, Sam.
And pulling into a parking lot.
[Sam] How did you--
how did you get there?
-How did you get in the car?
-I-- I don't know!
-Who was driving?
-I don't know!
-Well--
-I don't know!
-Trisha.
-Mmm.
What made you
remember your name?
I-- I-- I just remember
someone saying it in a car.
[distorted voice] Trisha.
It's a whisper, okay?
It's a voice.
Yeah, a phantom shadow
that neither of us can remember,
so maybe we were drugged.
Fucking asshole!
-Sam--
-Fuck you, fucking asshole!
Fuck you, you fucking pervert!
Probably watching us right now.
Probably watching this!
You're probably recording this!
Son of a bitch.
Ha!
The Collection.
I know this book.
It's about a man
who kidnaps a woman
and forces her
to fall in love with him.
Fuck this.
Fuck this shit. Huh.
[sighs]
Hey. Hey, Sam.
We are gonna get out of this.
You hear me? We are.
He-- he probably
isn't even coming back.
I mean, he's left us here.
Right?
He's left us here.
I mean, he's not-- he's--
he's not gonna come back.
-Maybe.
-Are you k-- kidding me?
Look around you.
Somebody clearly
fucking lives here.
The girl in that book dies.
It's been a long time, okay?
He's probably
on his way back now!
-Sam--
-He could come back any minute!
The police
are gonna be here, okay?
They're looking for us.
Police? Yeah.
Two brown girls go missing?
We're on our fucking own.
[scoffs] Yeah.
Nah!
I'm fine.
[Trisha sobs]
[birds chirping]
[crying]
[grunting]
[panting]
[ominous music playing]
[paper rustling]
What's that?
What is it?
[woman shuddering]
[woman breathing heavily]
Well, uh...
I guess that answers, um...
our question about a phantom.
The answer was
right under our fucking faces.
[panting]
We're gonna figure it out.
Figure what out? We've been...
kidnapped by
a fucking serial killer.
What is there to figure out?
[Trisha sobbing]
Trisha.
Trisha.
[Sam grunts]
-Trisha.
-[woman crying]
Um...
I'm-- I'm sorry.
[woman sighs]
We're trapped in here like...
mice in a cage
waiting for a fucking snake.
[sighs] Maybe not.
[laughs]
Sam!
Maybe not. [sniffles]
[groans in effort]
Come on, Sam, come on!
-Up, up, up!
-What, are we gonna dig?
[both grunting]
[suspenseful music playing]
Look at this.
We tunnel out under the house.
Tunnel?
Yeah.
What? Yeah, all right.
Uh, whatever.
Let's do it!
Sam.
What? I-- I love this plan.
-Okay. No, no, no, no.
-Let's go.
What if they come back
and we're digging
and we don't have
a chance to hide [indistinct]?
We would literally be
stuck in here.
We'll be done
before they get back.
You just said they could be
coming back any second.
Okay. Then do we chill here?
I mean,
where do you want to die?
[Sam coughs]
[both grunting in effort]
-It's too deep.
-Yes, yes, it's a little deeper.
It's-- it's a little deeper.
Okay.
[Trisha grunting]
Fine, let's keep going.
[ominous music playing]
[Sam screaming] I-- I'm--
[shudders]
I need to get-- I need to--
I need to get out of here.
-I have to get out of here. I--
-Sam.
[breathing shakily]
[groaning in pain]
Put pressure on it, Sam.
Did you hear me?
Yeah, I fucking heard you.
[sighs]
[groans] It's really...
[sighs] It's nothing
to be ashamed of, okay?
Ashamed?
What the fuck does that mean?
You know what? Leave me alone.
I don't need any more
of your know-it-all bullshit.
You and this asshole
can go to hell.
[Trisha scoffs]
You know what, Sam?
This.
This is who we're fighting.
And if we keep
at each other's throats,
then this fucker's
gonna kill us.
[Trisha sighs]
[Sam grunting in pain]
[panting]
-Something's not right.
-What?
There's three people
in this photo.
This is a selfie.
No, there's a third person
in the-- in the window.
[Trisha exhales sharply]
[distorted] So,
we're dealing with...
two people?
[birds chirping]
What if [indistinct]?
There's only one set
of tire tracks.
So they're probably together.
[Sam stuttering]
Sam?
Are you okay?
[Sam retching]
[Trisha] Oh.
Oh, my God, Sam. Oh, my God.
-[Sam shivering]
-Oh.
-Oh, my God. Okay.
-[Sam groaning in pain]
Oh. Okay, okay.
Stay with me,
stay with me. [grunting]
[Sam breathing heavily]
Sam, move your hands.
-Move your hands, Sam.
-Okay.
[Sam screaming]
[panting]
Oh, my God.
So sorry [indistinct].
I'm so sorry. [panting]
[groans]
You know it's bad luck
to wear a dead person's shoes.
I stopped the bleeding, okay?
Just lay still. [grunts]
I'm going
to take care of everything.
[Trisha breathing heavily]
-What time is it?
-[Trisha sighs]
Don't worry about that. Come on.
This is gonna take the edge off.
-Oh, I hate beer.
-Come on.
[Sam slurping]
-Okay.
-Oh, God.
You spilt it on me
like a frat bro.
You're welcome.
I need to sleep.
Sam, you need
to stay awake, okay?
-You have a fever.
-I'm tired.
Leave me alone.
Okay, Sam.
Can you just keep
talking to me, though?
-Can you just keep talking?
-Mmm.
Sam?
Still trapped
in this creepy fucking house
And I'm still stabbed
[chuckles]
[dramatic music playing]
You don't sing?
[smacks lips]
I don't know that song.
[Sam scoffs]
Are you always
this much of a goody-two-shoes,
or is that just
when you're kidnapped?
What's your problem?
I'm... just trying to help you.
You're actually getting
on my damn nerves.
Wh-- what's my problem?
What's your problem?
Why don't you feel things?
Why don't--
why aren't you angry?
Why don't you get mad
or something?
Like, do something like
a normal human being.
Be a normal person.
[groaning]
Okay, because the best thing
that we can do
-in this situation...
-Ow!
...would be to stay calm...
so we can figure out
how to get out of this.
And by the way, I'm just trying
to save your life, okay?
And you're getting
on my damn nerves, too.
Is that real enough for you?
Huh?
[mouthing words silently]
What are you doing?
Looking for something.
A key, uh, more cell phones,
I don't know.
[screams]
What?
[scoffs] What the fuck?
Why do they even have that?
This must have been
some old lady's house.
I wonder what happened to her.
Those motherfuckers.
[Trisha] I know.
Everything's okay.
We're getting out of this.
We're getting out of here.
Okay? I promise you.
You sound like my mother.
[somber music playing]
Your mother?
Yeah, she's always
trying to get me
to see the world differently.
I'm sure she's just trying
to protect you.
But I don't need protection.
-I'm fine.
-Yes.
Tough guy like you,
Sam, obviously.
But you know you're always
gonna be her baby.
Yeah, but we haven't spoken...
I mean, we haven't seen
each other in over a year.
We speak, we speak all the time.
She calls me every weekend,
like clockwork,
to tell me about some vision
that she had or some dream or...
to warn me about
some impending doom, uh...
[Sam sighs]
You haven't seen your mother
in over a year?
It's complicated.
You're starting to remember.
Yeah, I'm starting
to remember that
I'll probably
never see her again.
Don't say that, Sam.
Don't say that.
Stay positive, okay?
Why?
Because what is the alternative?
Seeing things
for actually how they are
instead of through
rose-colored glasses?
Okay.
Well, I see this as two options.
We sink or we swim,
and I'm going to do the latter.
[Trisha panting]
All right. What do we do?
I don't know.
Just tell me more
about your mother.
-Is she psychic?
-What? No. She's not.
She j--
she honestly just does it
for attention ever since my...
my brother died.
Um, she's always claiming
to see him in visions and...
dreams and shit.
And you don't believe her.
Would you?
Impending doom.
This all seems pretty terrible.
Maybe she's on to something.
What else did she say?
What else did she say?
What else?
That there was an evil
coming after me
and I needed to run from it.
Yin and yang are bleeding.
Blood everywhere.
Blood, blood.
So much blood everywhere.
Yeah, and a clock
is right twice a day.
It doesn't help us.
Okay. I guess I'm just reaching.
Tell me more about your mother.
She hates me.
Uh, no, she...
she doesn't hate me.
Um, she just...
my mom is a good person.
She's just...
a smotherer.
[chuckles]
Yeah, I get that.
What? You get that?
Like, is your mom a smotherer?
Are you remembering?
Are you a mother?
I have a daughter.
You do?
Where is she?
-[box thudding]
-[woman screaming]
[eerie music playing]
[woman screaming]
[Sam] Oh, fuck.
Are those dildos?
[Trisha whining]
You know what?
I think you're right.
I think the only way
that we're getting out of here
is if we break
the-- the fucking wall!
-Ow!
-Help! Help!
[screaming]
[thudding]
[wood cracking]
Trisha!
[screaming]
It's-- it's okay.
-[screaming]
-No! Oh, it's okay, it's okay.
[crying]
How can we be okay?
We're stuck in this house
and my kid
is out there somewhere!
[Trisha screaming]
Help! Help!
[Trisha crying]
[tense music playing]
[indistinct]
I feel like I've...
I've been here before.
Here?
I just can't explain it, but...
Like camping or something?
I-- I don't know, maybe.
Maybe.
Oh, so that means
that there's houses.
So we could probably start,
like, a smoke fire.
You know? Smoke signal.
-Outside the window.
-We're stuck in here.
We'll burn ourselves up.
[crying]
No, the only way that
that door is opening
is when they come back.
[sobbing]
-Right.
-[Trisha panting]
With whatever fucking weapons
that they use to...
murder us.
[playing an ominous piano chord]
Sorry.
So we get 'em first.
How?
We kill them
when they walk in the door.
[dramatic music playing]
We'll start with these.
Catch them by surprise
when they walk through the door.
We might get the first one,
but the second one
could get away.
We can't chance it, we need
to get them in the house.
-Then we bum-rush them.
-Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Let's be smart.
We draw them to us.
I need to be
in the same position
I was when they left.
Okay, so I'm lying
on the floor over there.
Right?
Okay.
The first guy
comes through the door.
And as he approaches me,
I'm gonna stab him in the foot.
But why would he approach you
if he already knows
to expect you there?
Okay. Right.
I'm gonna make
a slight movement.
A sound.
-[Trisha exclaims]
-[man groans]
[screaming]
What about the other guy?
He's gonna be coming in
right behind his buddy,
and this is where you come in.
As soon as this guy goes down,
you just-- you jump out
and you kill
the motherfucker, okay?
[Sam exclaiming]
I had to really make sure
he was dead.
Nice.
Wait. What if they have guns?
It's not gonna work.
We have to disarm them.
We have to get them
off balance and get their guns
or we're never getting out
of this house.
-[Sam grunts]
-Sam, you okay?
Yeah, I'm fine.
The baby's kicking.
You ever wonder
what's really going on here?
Why us?
Did we do something
to deserve it?
No one deserves this.
Yeah, but like, why you?
Why me?
Why anyone?
Why a little, innocent kid
walking home from school?
I don't know.
Maybe we're not so innocent.
I don't know.
I don't-- I-- I-- you're right.
All right, we should
really keep our heads on,
um, if we're gonna
get through this thing.
I must really be tired.
[exhales sharply]
Oh, if only I could just sleep.
No.
You know you have to stay awake.
And I have to pee.
I can't hold it. I'm going.
[Trisha] Oh, my God.
The toilet is filthy!
What did you expect?
Put some toilet paper
on the seat.
[Trisha] No. No,
I'm not sitting, I'm hovering.
You know, maybe they--
we're worrying for nothing.
I mean, how long has it been?
Like, like three or four hours.
Maybe no one's coming back.
Maybe they left us here.
They will.
They will.
And we don't have a plan yet.
[gasps]
What?
The fucking mannequin
just scared the shit out of me.
Wait.
Maybe there's a way
to get them both
to rush into the bedroom.
When they open the door,
instead of seeing you
on the floor...
they hear this door close.
[woman]
What if they go looking for me?
We'll have bait.
Then, you take the first one,
I'll take the second.
[exclaiming]
[both women exclaiming]
Oh, my God, that's gonna work.
That's gonna work.
We have to make this place
look exactly like it did
when they left.
But this is gonna work!
You got him.
I got him.
I got him.
There's not much we can do
about this chair.
When they see it,
they're gonna panic.
What if we use it
as part of the distraction?
Like we set it up--
Um, I got it, I got it.
[Sam]
Like we set it up over here.
Yeah, and that draws them
towards the mannequin.
Yeah.
I'll clean the utensils.
Yeah, okay. Uh...
[Trisha groans]
[panting]
Hey, you okay?
I'm fine.
[both groan]
Let's see.
It's okay.
[Sam whimpers]
Okay, okay, pressure. Pressure.
-[Trisha groaning]
-Is it bad?
Okay, I'll be right--
be right back.
I'm coming, Sam.
Okay. You ready?
-Yeah.
-One, two, three.
[Sam groans]
You're getting better at this.
Yeah, yeah.
I heard somewhere
that if I stay calm,
the pain is less intense.
Okay. We have to do this.
Sam, are you gonna be able
to do this?
Give me that.
Let's go.
[Sam groans]
[Trisha] Let me help.
-You ready?
-Yeah.
[Sam groaning]
-[Trisha] One more.
-Yeah.
-[Sam groans]
-One more.
Okay. [screams]
You're a fucking superwoman,
you know that?
Thanks.
We gotta hurry, okay?
[Trisha groans]
That's good.
Turn the mannequin head
a little bit away from me.
[groans]
Yeah, that should work.
[clattering]
[whispering] Is that them?
[Trisha shushes]
[clattering]
-What is that?
-[clattering]
[ominous instrumental]
What is that?
Oh, no! [groans]
I can't hear anything.
I don't see anything.
I don't see any lights,
I don't see any tracks.
Oh, my God, Sam.
I'm okay. I'm okay.
[door creaks]
-[clattering]
-[Trisha exclaims]
[Trisha gasps]
Oh.
It's a fucking branch.
[Trisha screaming]
[Sam groans]
[dramatic music plays]
-No, I don't want it.
-Okay, you can do it.
-No.
-You're okay.
-Okay.
-No.
Leave me alone.
No! No!
No! No, no! Leave me alone!
Leave me alone!
Just let me die!
Just let me die, please!
I didn't save him!
-Him?
-Just let me go.
Please let me go.
[sobs] I deserve to die.
What are you talking about?
No. Sam.
I let him die.
My brother.
He fell into a drainage pipe
when we were walking home
from school.
I was on my phone.
I wasn't paying attention.
-That's an accident.
-No.
I froze.
I froze.
All I had to do was reach out.
Okay, that's panicking.
I freaking froze.
How old were you?
I was 13.
I was old enough.
Please just...
-Trisha, please just let me die.
-Please don't.
-Please don't.
-I want to die.
Listen to me.
No, you're gonna make it.
No! Trisha!
Just let me die, please!
Just let me fucking die!
Shut the fuck up!
Shut the fuck up, bitch!
Shut the fuck up!
-[indistinct]
-No!
Let go of me! Let go of me!
Please, you have
to forgive yourself.
You have to.
Let go of me!
-Just let me go.
-No!
I wanna die.
I have so much sadness
inside of me.
I hate myself.
Listen to me.
You're gonna make it, okay?
You can make it.
You're gonna forgive yourself.
Okay? You're gonna
forgive yourself.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please, please.
Please don't leave me
in this house alone.
Please don't leave me
here alone, Sam.
Please, you have to fight.
You have to stay.
Please, Sam. Please.
Okay.
Yeah?
Okay.
Okay, please bite this.
[Sam groans]
Okay. Okay, here we go.
[groans]
[Trisha] Oh, yeah.
Yeah. That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Okay, okay.
Here we go, here we go.
[Sam] Oh, my God!
Sam?
Sam?
Yeah--
Hey, Sam? Sam? No.
[inaudible praying]
[Trisha gasps]
[indistinct]
She's back.
You just lay there, okay?
I'm gonna take care of you.
No, you...
you need me too.
You need us both.
So we'll just go back
to our original plan.
No, but we already
talked about it.
How are you going to be able
to take both of the guys?
We'll have two diversions.
Sam.
We'll set up the second body
in the living room.
How do you know
they're still going to split up?
They won't go
into two separate rooms.
I kill the first guy.
Then you create
a diversion out there.
And I kill that motherfucker.
Then we'll walk out of
here together.
Fuck yeah.
Yeah. I'm gonna move you.
[both groan]
You got it. Here we go.
-Ready?
-[both groan]
As soon as
I kill the first guy...
you're hiding behind that chair
and you make a noise.
Then I should bring
the second guy to you
and I pop out and I kill him.
Okay?
Sam.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Let's do it. [groans]
Sam.
Don't panic.
Don't panic, okay?
I promise this is going to
work out just like we think.
[Trisha screams]
[both gasping]
Let me get it.
Let me get it.
-Oh, no.
-Let me get it.
Dim the lights.
Dim the lights.
Sam, dim the lights.
-Dim lights.
-Okay.
[inaudible]
[indistinct]
[Trisha] You can do it.
Stay low. Stay low.
Oh, my God.
Fuck. Fucking crap.
[indistinct]
Oh, my God. Where's the knife?
[Trisha screams]
I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
[indistinct]
As soon as he comes in,
as soon as you hear that door.
Okay?
You're going to go in that room
and you're going to
break a window.
And then you hear the fucking...
Sam, break the window
and fucking hide.
Hide in the closet.
Hide in the closet, Sam.
Go!
-Sam!
-Okay. Okay. Okay.
[Trisha] Go!
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Okay.
[glass shatters]
[man grunts]
-[Sam exclaims]
-[man screams]
No, wait!
[man groans]
Please! [groans]
Where's the other guy, huh?
Where's the other guy?
What other guy?
Where's your
fucking partner, asshole?
Where's your
fucking partner, huh?
Is he waiting for us?
He's waiting?
Where's your
fucking partner, asshole?
You're my partner, baby.
You're my fucking partner.
You're my hope and devotion.
We're lifers, baby. It's me.
It's me. It's me.
What is he talking about?
He's fucking full of shit.
He's trying to trick us.
Don't go out there.
Hey. Hey. Hey.
I went to get your meds.
We had sex on the piano.
-Hey.
-You fucking liar.
Where did we fuck?
Where did we fuck?
[indistinct], remember?
We-- we came so hard
in each other.
We were so beautiful.
And I went to get your meds.
You forget sometimes.
You forget because
all your brain is mushed up.
How was that for you?
I don't feel good, baby.
I need my-- [clears throat]
I need my pills, baby.
Where is it at?
In my purse.
I'll be your Dr. Feelgood.
Oh, baby.
Baby, it's empty.
Why are you doing this to me?
I know.
I'm sorry, I forgot
to fill my prescription.
-Okay.
-Hey.
Come here, come here.
Huh?
Do you know how far we are
from the fucking town?
Can you do anything?
I'll get it.
-I'll get it myself.
-Yeah, you'll get it?
-I'll get it.
-You'll get it yourself.
[Valerie screams]
Oh, I'm sorry.
I don't mean to hurt you.
I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
[indistinct] like this.
I'm not letting you
go back into town.
Not letting
this gorgeous baby ass.
-Huh?
-[indistinct]
You're not gonna
go anywhere, baby.
No, you ain't
going anywhere, baby.
No, you're not gonna
go anywhere.
No.
I'm not letting you
go into fucking town.
Where's the money?
-Skeleton.
-Where's the money?
It's in the skeleton's head.
The last [indistinct].
Cheers. Nice.
I am totally parched.
Oh, my God.
[flies buzzing]
Ugh. Refreshing.
Oh, hey.
While I'm gone, my darling,
do not forget,
there's a dead whore
bleeding out right there, okay?
Just keep tabs, okay?
Spit spot.
Home sweet home.
Keep a fucking eye on things!
Love you.
[indistinct chatter over TV]
Your memory isn't so good,
that's why I had to go
get your meds.
Shut up! No, shut up!
Where is he?
What the hell
is he talking about?
What the hell
is he talking about?
No, no, no.
-[Trisha] Don't fucking move.
-No!
No, don't fucking move.
My back pocket.
Check my back pocket.
Fuck him. Fuck him. Let's go.
Please, I beg you. My ass.
-Back of my ass.
-Don't fucking move.
I swear to God,
I will fucking kill you.
I'll prove it to you.
I'll prove it to you, baby.
My back pocket.
Open the-- open the phone.
Hit redial.
What's that noise?
That's your phone.
In the purse.
I took the purse
with me to the store.
Trisha, what the hell
is he talking about?
-Call the police.
-[Trisha] This isn't me.
[Sam] Call the police.
She's not Trisha.
You're not Trisha!
You're Val.
You're Valerie.
You're Val.
You're Valerie, baby.
Don't you remember?
The memories.
-You found her.
-No.
-Yeah, baby.
-[Valerie] No.
I don't know you.
No, baby, please.
Trisha's that little whore
you picked up for me
at the bar last month.
Remember?
Remembers.
Hey, what's your name,
baby doll?
I'm Trisha.
[man] Trisha.
She was a little cutie
whoresy whores.
Trisha, fuck him.
Shut up, you cunt!
-No.
-Please put the knife down.
Don't fucking move.
I-- I'm just-- I'm gonna get
a picture from my wallet.
Look.
Look.
It's Nana.
Hey, hey.
It's Nana.
Nana, me and you.
Happy families.
Be-before she died,
left us the house.
How many legs does she have?
Just the one.
Poor Nana.
I miss her so much.
Baby.
Val.
Ray.
Ray, baby, that's right.
You remember.
Huh?
It was me and you, baby.
Me and you against the world.
I took you away from
all the bedpans
and bullshit, right?
What about your daughter?
[Ray mockingly]
"What about your daughter?"
I saved you.
I saved you, my love.
Because you
and your little fantasies...
We're both in fantasies.
Both of us, baby doll.
But how do we get out
of our fantasies?
How do we release them?
Daddy's got...
When everything gets too much,
look what Daddy's got.
Look what Daddy's got.
To get you straightened out.
[Valerie whines]
[Sam yelps]
-[Sam groans]
-Where do you want to go?
-Where do you want to go?
-[Sam groans]
-Okay, go.
-[Sam screams]
[groans]
Well, looky, looky.
We created quite the scene
here today, didn't we?
It's possibly outrageous.
Quite the party scene,
like a baby shower.
A dead baby shower,
don't you know?
It's a curse.
We don't need a fucking baby.
It's a curse, it's a curse.
[indistinct], please.
[incoherent mumbling]
Just get on with it!
-Get on with it!
-[Valerie screams]
I got you, baby.
-Trisha! Trisha!
-[Valerie sobbing]
[mockingly] "Trisha! Trisha!"
Me and you, baby.
Me and you.
Me and you against the world.
We are team number one.
Right?
Where you going?
Come on, baby.
-Yeah, come on.
-No.
-[indistinct]
-Yeah.
[Ray moaning]
Oh, yes, baby.
[indistinct]
Is that what you want?
Mmm. Yeah, I fucking want it.
Let's go out there, okay?
Let's go out there.
You're my baby, me and you.
Me and you against
all the bullshit.
Fuck.
I can't fucking get it off.
It's your fault!
I didn't like it.
I told you I didn't like it.
I didn't like it.
It's not my choice.
It's your choice. [screams]
Kill.
You're a fucking dead weight.
You're gonna be
a real dead weight in a minute.
A real dead weight.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
Bye.
Where's the fucking knife?
But, Ray, we just got this one.
Mm-mm. That was a mistake.
I don't like it.
You chose it.
I'm gonna get rid of it.
[indistinct]
Let me do it.
-You wanna do it?
-I wanna do it, baby.
[Ray] Mmm.
This hot?
Let's just take a little time.
-[smacks skin]
-[Valerie chuckles]
Go do your business.
I'm gonna take a shit.
I'm sorry.
[screaming]
Shh.
Shh.
Now kill her.
-Yeah.
-[Valerie] No.
-What?
-Fucking kill her.
-Now!
-[Valerie yelps]
[Valerie sobbing and mumbling]
[Ray] You can't stab her, right?
So...
so why not shoot her?
[Valerie breathing heavily]
We don't have time
to muck about, though.
It's all over the news, right?
It's all over the news.
Little Miss Prissy's been
spreading fucking
vicious gossip.
Now they're looking for
all these fucking girls.
It's okay.
-[Sam exclaims]
-[Ray whoops]
[Sam grunts]
[yelps]
[screams]
Baby...
Baby,
go pack what you can, my love.
[groaning]
I'm gonna take care of
little Miss Prissy.
-[Sam] Move.
-Move.
-[Sam exclaims]
-Oh. Ouchie.
That's all we got?
Come on, then.
-[Sam screams]
-Hey!
Have a fucking party,
you stupid bitch.
-[Sam exclaims]
-Ooh.
Good job, baby.
[both scream]
Pervert!
[groans]
Go get her!
Wait!
Come here, you piece of shit.
Where y'all going?
[exclaims] Come here.
I will get you.
[Sam grunts]
Fuck.
Where you at?
Where you at?
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya!
I'm coming to get ya.
I'm coming to get ya!
[indistinct]
Fuck!
Don't you stop her!
-[Valerie yelps]
-[indistinct]
Run away, little Miss Prissy.
Hey!
Coming! Coming!
Let's split up now.
You go that way.
Hey, fucking give me that.
I can't trust you with that.
Go on, then!
-It's your fucking mate!
-[Valerie screams]
Sam. Sam.
I'm not gonna hurt you.
Where are you?
[Ray] I'm coming for you, bitch!
I'm coming for you, bitch!
Where are you?
I'm gonna find you,
little Miss Prissy!
Samantha!
[whispering] Sam.
[Ray] Oi!
What you got there?
It's just blood.
-Blood?
-It's blood.
She's not here, though.
It's fucking blood, though.
Circle back.
Fu-- fuck off.
Looks like half an abortion.
Huh. Huh.
Huh, Sa-- Samantha Irby!
2719,
West Oakland Avenue,
Californi-a.
Which is weird, because, uh,
I perused
[indistinct], right?
It says you live in a flat.
A flat!
In West Covina!
How'd you work
that one out, then?
Oh, wait, I know. I know.
Maybe-- maybe
you didn't change your address
when you left
the family abode, right?
Yeah! So now I know
where your mama lives!
Eh? Eh?
And I'm fucking
going to your mama, right?
Yeah!
Fucking get stuck in there!
I love moms!
I love an old bird!
Knows a thing or two
about a thing or two,
and they know
their fucking goddamn place!
Not some prissy
little fucking bitch like you!
Stuck-up cunt!
Yeah!
Yeah, oh!
I told Val, I said, "Valerie,
I do not want that girl!
I don't want her!"
Oh, Sammy!
[unhinged laughing]
Sammy! Oh! Oh!
Oh, it's gonna fucking suck
when I finally get
my hands on you, baby!
It's gonna fucking suck!
[gasps]
Oh, baby.
You're making it
too fucking easy, huh?
[muttering indistinctly]
Baby, let's go.
Let's fucking go.
Let's leave her.
-Let's--
-No!
I'm not going anywhere
until that bitch is dead.
She dies.
She fucking dies tonight!
[screams]
[groans]
[Ray laughs]
Gotcha!
Yeah.
We got her, baby.
Come here, darling.
Isn't that the kind of
piece of shit
that always kept you down,
made you feel small?
Now it's your turn.
No, no, Valerie, I--
Your turn, baby.
Finish it.
-I never hurt you, remember?
-[Ray] Do it.
-Come on, baby.
-Please, don't.
No. Don't.
[Ray] Do it.
I remember.
I fucking remember everything.
Of course you do.
[Valerie] Being used.
Being treated,
fucking made to feel like trash.
To feel like fucking nothing!
Not human.
No.
-Ray?
-Yeah.
Are you mad?
Not anymore.
You made me kill my baby.
-[gunshot bangs]
-[Sam yelps]
[dramatic instrumental]
-[kid yelps]
-Oh, I got you, I got you.
-Are you okay?
-I'm fine.
It's you I'm worried about.
What? But we're together.
I'm not leaving you.
You remember
what Mom used to say?
"Wherever you are, be there."
I'm where
I'm supposed to be, sis.
It's not your fault.
And it's not your time.
[Valerie groans]
[yelps]
[Valerie groaning]
[Sam groaning]
Sam.
No. No.
No.
Is he gone? Is he gone?
You can make it. [indistinct]
You have to make it, okay?
-[Sam sobbing]
-Okay.
Come with me.
Come with me.
No.
Come on.
No.
Go. Go!
[Valerie groans]
[panting]
-Hello?
-[woman over phone] [indistinct]
You're calling from Box 633.
-Yeah.
-[woman] Oh,
you're pretty far out there.
-Is this an emergency?
-[sobs]
Hello?
Okay, help is on the way.
Can you tell me what happened?
["House Of Refuge"
by Maynz plays]
Hi, hello
Hi, hello, and who are you?
Is this your house,
a refuge
What force do you
belong to?
Oh, please, I need to start
A new foundation for
a sturdy home
A place
I'm proud to call my own
I'll build the walls
and over stone
Oh, please,
I can't stay here alone
She listens close
when you don't know
And you're behind
a haunted door
It's not my soul
she's looking for
The one
who lived here long before
Hi, hello, we meet again
Inside the box
that you sent
An old address, an accident
You're half alive
without a vent
My heart, it aches
I feel it last
A love was here
and made to last
A trauma spread
like broken glass
I still find
pieces in the grass
You listen
close when we don't know
And you're
behind a haunted door
And in our dreams,
you're screaming for
The bedroom
that you once adored
Hi, hello
