- Plane
crash, which struck
the town's main water treatment facility
has now obviously resulted
in a complete quarantine
of the small town.
Now many houses in the area are linked
to an underground aquifer,
which is still considered safe to drink,
however, if you are on city water,
it's most certainly contaminated.
The crew of the aircraft, no doubt,
perished in the crash itself.
Fortunately the military
were able to act quickly
on the incident and were
able to successfully evacuate
approximately 95% of the
roughly 1,800 resident,
leaving approximately
90 souls unaccounted for
at this point.
We are also being told that
those who were affected
are extremely contagious.
Even a simple touch can
pretty much guarantee
transfer of this illness.
And unfortunately, things are
looking down at this point
on the possibility of finding
any unaffected residents
or survivors.
And we're continuing to bring you coverage
of the quarantine effort as
officials have now confirmed
that all major roads leading
in and out of the town
have successfully been shut down,
meaning no entry or exit from those roads.
Now, as you can see on the
map, highlighted in yellow,
that represents that five roads
that have been closed and barricaded.
Now, these five roads are the only way
in or out of Raccoon Valley
and the closure means nobody gets in,
nobody gets out, at least by means
of vehicle transportation, that is.
Since then, the military has begun
to tighten security around
the remaining border,
having military personnel approximately
every 30 feet, around the county's border.
That equates to roughly 9,000 soldiers
guarding the perimeter.
Now, focusing on those five roads,
we know that two of the roads
head in a westerly direction,
while the remaining three
go south to southeast.
The two roads going west
are Branch Road and SR60
and the three to the south, southeast
are Forsyth and the 713 and the other side
of SR60, coming out the east side.
So, that leaves no other
roads leading in or out
of the town and we're being told each
is heavily barricaded
and unpassable by means
of vehicle transportation.
- I just talked to the doctor.
He said you should start
committing sounds to memory,
music, voices.
Maybe you should watch
those tapes of your family.
