Secrets in Sisterhood (2025) Movie Script

[uplifting music]
[dramatic music]
[dramatic music continues]
[somber music]
I'm so sorry about Jennifer.
Thanks, Jared.
I still can't believe
she's gone.
[somber music continues]
You better go.
I'll see you at the memorial.
Thank you all for being here
today
to celebrate Jennifer's life.
She loved each
and every one of you.
And because you're here,
I know that you loved her, too.
To her sisters,
at MKA.
I want to thank you
for electing her president.
It meant more to her
than you could ever imagine.
She loved being a part
of Mu Kappa Alpha.
And she loved each of you
so very much.
Although Jennifer
was an only child,
my only child,
here at Chester University,
she finally had the
sisters she'd always dreamed of.
Jennifer's death is a tragedy,
which makes this so difficult.
I don't know
if I'll ever understand
how someone could do
something like this to her.
But I do know
that Jennifer would want us
to lean on each other
through this difficult time.
But most importantly,
you must always be careful.
So that nothing like this
ever happens again.
May we find the strength
to do so.
And the love that Jennifer
left behind.
Thank you.
[somber music continues]
You two were special
to Jennifer.
Promise me that you'll keep her
legacy alive.
[chain rattles]
My condolences on the
loss of your daughter.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
When you have the time,
please come down the station.
We'd like to talk with you.
What's Detective Blair
doing here?
Shouldn't he be trying to
figure out who killed Jennifer?
We can get
to the bottom of this.
Maybe that's what he's doing.
-God bless you.
-Thank you.
[gentle music]
[door knocking]
Come in.
How are you holding up?
Not great.
Jennifer
was one of my best friends.
My MKA big sister, and,
now she's gone.
I know.
We're all in shock.
Not all of us.
Chrissy's acting like
nothing happened.
Well, maybe that's
just how she's coping with it.
Doesn't she realize that
there's a killer on the loose
and that we could
all be in danger?
There you two are.
Everyone's downstairs waiting.
Layla called like, a house
meeting or something.
House meeting? What for?
Why don't you tell me?
Can't you, like,
tell the future or something?
Honestly, I'm not up for it.
I'm sure everyone will
understand if I skip this one.
But you're one of the people
who has to be there.
So you do know what it's about.
Layla mentioned something
about picking Jennifer's
replacement
for chapter president.
Already?
That's what I heard.
And I also heard...
Jennifer was trying to get Layla
fired.
That is not true.
Why do you always spread rumors?
-I share--
-Both of you!
Jennifer's funeral
was only a couple of hours ago.
It's too soon.
Okay, so why don't
you come downstairs
and tell Layla that
yourself then?
What is Layla thinking?
This is wrong.
I know,
but I think you should go.
I did a reading after
the funeral.
You're the one who should lead
-this chapter now.
-Raye.
-That's sweet, but--
-I know you don't believe in it.
But I do. Completely.
Maybe we should go down
and see what Layla has to say.
Yeah.
[gentle music]
So glad you could make it.
Brianna, I heard that you think
this meeting is too soon,
and I understand.
But, Detective Blair suggested
that we just continue on
with our normal activities.
I know it'll be hard,
but I agree.
We just need to carry on
because we don't know how long
the investigation will be.
I just don't see
how it would hurt to wait
at least a day.
Classes start tomorrow
and Rush is only two weeks away.
So I just thought
that it would be easiest
to meet today
while we're all here together.
So let's get started.
As all of you know,
Mu Kappa Alpha is the elite
sorority here
at Chester University.
[all clapping]
And if we intend
to maintain
that level of excellence,
we need to show
our new potential members
who we are.
We cannot let Jennifer's murder
be what defines us.
Yes, Alex.
I've been praying about it.
And I think we should consider
not taking
a pledge class this semester.
Well, I
understand your feelings, Alex.
That is absolutely not possible.
Excellence breeds excellence.
If we want to continue
to be the best sorority
here on campus,
we must recruit the best.
I know that it might sound cold.
[whispers] So I heard Layla on
the phone the other day
talking to somebody,
and she was saying that
she already thinks
we're behind the Deltas,
including the semester.
And she said she'd never let
that happen.
Heather.
Do you have something you'd
like to share with the group?
-No.
-Then I'll continue.
As most of you know,
our bylaws state that
in order to become president,
you must be an upperclassman
and you must have served
on executive council
for at least two semesters.
That leaves us with
three potential candidates.
And I must say that I do find it
fitting
that two of those candidates
were Jennifer's little sisters,
Brianna and Chrissy.
[Layla and Heather clapping]
Yay! Please, ladies,
come up and join me.
And our third candidate
would be Alex.
But considering
she doesn't think
we even need a pledge class
this semester,
I think we can all agree that
she isn't the best candidate.
Who does she think she is?
Would you want
to be president?
Does it matter?
Sounds like I'm
not even an option.
I don't fit the mold of who
Layla wants in charge of Rush.
It's not her decision.
Layla is House Mom.
She doesn't even get a vote.
I would like each of you
to consider
which of these two candidates
you think
best to lead us through these
very difficult times.
We will vote
at the end of the week,
and I am confident
that you girls
will make the right decision.
[eerie music]
-Hey.
-So...
What's
the word around the house?
Honestly,
like, everybody's scared.
You know, with the killer
still out there?
No one's talking about
the election.
That's what I was afraid of.
I need to try and change
the mood around the house.
I'll totally help you with that.
-We all know you're the fun tw--
-Ah.
You know, I hate
when people call us twins.
Just because Brianna and I are,
I mean, were,
both Jennifer's little sisters
doesn't mean we're
anything alike.
Plus, I am so sick of hearing
everyone say,
"Brianna was her
favourite twin."
Not everyone says that.
Okay. Some people like you
better because
you keep things exciting.
But then other people
like Brianna because,
you know, she's more organized.
She's more like Jennifer.
Might be harder than I thought
to be the next president.
[door clicks]
Donuts for everyone.
Thank you, Chrissy.
That's so thoughtful.
What can I say?
The last few days
have been tough, so
I just wanted to do something
nice for everyone
on our first day of class.
I got blueberry, Raye.
I know they're your favourite.
Are you trying to buy our votes?
Raye. I'm hurt.
I mean, can't a girl
do something thoughtful?
Oh, of course you can.
I mean, in that case,
I'll take one for Brianna, too.
I mean, you want to be
thoughtful to her, too.
Right?
Yeah. Of course.
Great. Well, thanks for
the donuts, but
I'm still voting for Brianna.
She really gets under my skin.
Don't worry about her. Okay?
Good morning. I got donuts
for everyone. Woo!
[Brianna] I hate this.
How can we just start classes
like nothing happened?
[Raye] I know, it's so weird
but saying that won't bring
Jennifer back.
[Brianna] You're right.
But I feel like I'm
constantly
looking over my shoulder
to see if someone's there.
[Raye] Me too.
But there's no reason for us
to think that we're targets.
Oh, nice. That's cool.
Brianna.
Traitor.
-What did I do?
-Fraternizing with the enemy.
-Chrissy's not the enemy.
-Rival?
Wait.
Am I missing something?
Either Brianna or Chrissy
will be replacing Jennifer
as the next MKA president.
Congratulations.
You'd be a great president.
Can you imagine how amazing
it will be
when you are the president
of Mu Kappa Alpha, and I'm
the president of Omega Gamma.
We will rule the Panhellenic
Council.
Don't you think you're getting
a little ahead of yourself?
There's no way
Chrissy gets elected over you.
Don't be so sure.
She can be pretty persuasive.
Oh, please.
Everyone can see
right through her.
"I bought your favourite donut."
I can't tell.
Do you even want it?
Maybe I do.
I definitely don't want Chrissy
ruining
everything Jennifer has worked
so hard to build.
I knew it. And you would be
so much better than Chrissy.
Well, no question there.
So what do I do?
Well, you got to fight for it.
Let everyone know that
you want it.
Shoot, I've got to get to class.
But Raye's right.
Let people know you want it.
You can start tonight
at the Omega Gamma party.
There would be lots
of people there.
All right, catch you later.
-Oh. He's cute, huh?
-Jared?
Come on. You know,
he's like my big brother.
-Our moms are best friends.
-So?
He even calls me his little sis.
Well, Madam President,
I hate to tell you this,
but that look he just gave you
is definitely not a look
a guy
gives to his little sister.
[bright music]
[door squeaks]
[door thuds]
Brianna.
I'm so glad you made it home
before I left.
Mrs. Stapleton, I didn't
realize you were coming
by today.
Please, call me Gayle.
It was a last minute decision.
I had a meeting at the police
station this afternoon,
so I thought I'd come by
and pick up some of Jennifer's
things while I was out.
So I called Layla.
And Layla asked
me to help Gayle.
Can I ask you girls something?
Of course.
Did Jennifer
mention anything about someone
wanting to hurt her
or her being afraid of them?
-No, not to me.
-Me either.
And she stopped by the coffee
shop in the afternoon
while I was working,
but she seemed fine.
I feel like I would have known
if she was scared.
I meant what I said
at the funeral.
Jennifer loved all of you girls.
But you two were her favourites.
[somber music]
She was really proud
to be your big sister.
We loved her too.
Promise me
if either of you need anything,
that you'll call?
My cell is on this.
I mean it.
Call me.
-We will.
-Promise.
-I'll take this.
-Yeah.
I can't even imagine
what it must be like
to lose your only child.
[dramatic music]
[door squeaks]
I'm so excited we're heading
to the party, girl.
You can beat Brianna
at some campaigning.
Oh, I swear,
this is just like last year
when we both
wanted to be Social Chair.
And you got it.
So can you stop worrying?
Thanks to me,
the MKA's did have
all the best parties on campus.
You know what? We totally did.
Heather.
Hey, you forgot your purse.
[eerie music]
Thank you.
You girls be careful tonight.
We will.
[dramatic music]
[eerie music]
[dramatic music]
-Gayle.
-[Gayle shrieks]
Oh, my gosh.
I am so sorry.
It's fine. It's fine. I just...
Sorry.
That's okay.
I just didn't
expect to see you in my house.
I didn't mean to scare you.
I just wanted to put some dinner
in your oven to stay warm.
-Dinner?
-I'm worried that you're not
eating,
so I brought over a casserole.
Oh. Hope you don't mind.
I used your hidden key
to let myself in.
Thanks.
You probably shouldn't
hide a key outside.
You know, Gayle.
As much as I love
having you as my neighbour.
Do you think that maybe
you should consider
putting your house on the market
and getting a fresh start?
No, I can't.
At least not yet.
I feel close to Jennifer here.
I understand.
Yeah, well,
I'm gonna get out of your hair.
Have a good dinner.
[curious music]
[eerie music]
[dramatic music]
[door thuds]
[phone dialling]
[phone chimes]
[curious music]
[upbeat party music]
I got a fever
It's running
through my veins
I'm in the mood to
Dance the night away
Can't keep my feet from
chasing the groove
Stand back and
give me some room
I knew I shouldn't have let you
two talk me into coming tonight.
You know
parties aren't my thing.
Come on.
You're already here.
[upbeat party music continues]
Hey, what's up ladies?
I'm surprised to see you
here, Alex.
I don't think I've ever seen you
at one of our parties before.
It's my first one.
Well then, welcome to your
first Omega Gamma party.
Relax.
Enjoy yourself.
That's why we're all here.
Thanks, Jared.
There's some drinks at the bar,
and you might want to
stay a while.
You guys,
your competition's out here,
and she's been campaigning
since they got here.
Jared's right.
Let's go get you a drink.
I think you're going to need it.
[man] Hey, Jared.
[upbeat party music continues]
Cheers.
Are you guys going
for points?
I just keep getting better.
Well just go talk to people
like you--
-Everybody--
-Shh. Hey, April.
Hi.
I was hoping to see
some of the MKA's here tonight.
I wanted to let you know
that the members of Delta Iota
are sorry about
what happened to Jennifer.
We're all so shocked.
I certainly hope
her killer is brought to justice
so it doesn't happen
to anyone else.
Thank you.
It's been a difficult time
for all of us
at the MKA house.
I'm sure.
Do you think you'll have a
new president in time for Rush?
You might be looking at her.
Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Wait, wait.
I want to hear this.
Congratulations.
I think you'd be great.
Thanks.
I think that Jennifer
would approve of
her as her replacement, too.
Don't you think?
Sure, I guess.
I'm gonna go mingle.
Why would you say something
like that?
Because it's true. Look,
Jennifer and I had gotten,
like, pretty close lately.
She even told me something
that no one else knows.
Now I'm interested.
Spill it.
[Heather] No. Look,
I swore on my mother's life
that I wouldn't say anything.
Now I don't know, okay. Like,
maybe the statute of limitations
ran out when Jennifer died?
You know, I agree with that.
-Let's hear it.
-Stop.
Stop trying to milk
attention out of tragedy.
You and Jennifer weren't
even close.
She would have never confided
in you.
Actually, she did confide in me.
And it's like
a really big secret.
As a matter of fact,
Brianna, it's
something that you would find
especially interesting.
What's that supposed to mean?
How about you stop being
so self-righteous, Brianna.
You're not the
only one Jennifer liked.
Hey.
Girls, might want
to keep it down.
People are watching.
Jared's right.
This isn't the time or place
for this.
Tell that to Heather
and Chrissy.
They're the ones spreading lies.
If Jennifer did, in fact,
confide a secret in you,
I suggest
you tell the police about it.
So I wonder if the saying, like,
"Taking a secret to your grave"
means
my grave or Jennifer's?
You are so bad. [chuckles]
Also, like total sidenote,
Jared would be a lot hotter
if he wasn't so obsessed
with Brianna.
I know, it's kind of weird.
Really weird.
[both laughing]
I just,
I really thought I saw someone.
[Margaret] Don't worry about it.
Police are going to check on it
right now.
Maybe I'm going crazy.
You can't be so hard
on yourself, Gayle.
I mean, you have been
through the unimaginable.
I'll be right back.
[eerie music]
Aren't you relieved?
They didn't find anything
unusual, but they're still going
to increase surveillance
around the house.
Yeah. Yes.
You still need to
be careful, all right?
No more leaving keys outside.
This is serious.
I know.
You should keep this, though.
Just in case.
Okay.
Come on.
[upbeat party music]
April. Hey.
You seen Heather?
The last time I saw her,
she was going into the bathroom.
That was a while ago.
-[door knocking]
-Heather?
[door knocking]
Heather, come on. If you're in
there this isn't funny.
[door knocking]
Heather, what are you doing?
[phone dialling]
[phone faintly rings]
[phone dialling]
Hey, we have other bathrooms.
Heather's in there.
I just called her.
I can hear her phone ringing,
but she's not answering,
and the door's locked.
-Hairpin, please.
-Um.
Oh.
[dramatic music]
[suspenseful music]
Oh, no.
I'm sorry, Chrissy.
Don't worry. I got this.
I'll call the police.
I'd like to speak
to Luke Baines next, please.
Everyone listen up.
We have a few more interviews,
and then we'll let you all go
home.
[Brianna] How'd it go?
Okay, I guess.
They asked
mostly standard questions.
Like, how well did I know
Heather?
And did she have any enemies?
Enemies?
Like, do
they think this was on purpose?
I don't know, I guess after
what happened to Jennifer,
they need to be thorough.
Did you know Heather used drugs?
I had no idea.
They asked about you.
They asked about me
specifically? Why?
I don't know.
I guess someone said
that they heard the two of you
fighting earlier tonight.
Heather and I didn't fight.
I was just simply reminding her
to keep quiet.
Don't worry.
I told them exactly
what happened.
I'm ready to leave.
I know I shouldn't
have come here tonight.
Beats
staying at the sorority house.
I'm beginning to feel like
the MKA's are cursed.
Don't say things like that.
The MKA's are not cursed.
Two people have
died in the past week,
and one of them was murdered.
Feels cursed to me.
These reveal all I need to know.
No, the Bible says trust in God
and he will
reveal everything
we need to know.
I'm sorry.
I didn't do that on purpose.
We shouldn't put our faith
in these dumb cards.
Alex, wait.
Oh, this isn't good.
[dramatic music]
These three cards together
show a strong influence
of negative energy.
-More death to come.
-More death?
Stop it, Raye.
We don't need any more negative
attention on us, or the MKA's.
Really?
I'm not the one who argued
with Heather before she died.
So you're the one who
told the police
we were fighting?
Why would you tell Detective
Blair they were fighting?
She's your friend.
He asked.
Thanks for bringing us
back, Detective Blair.
Of course.
I appreciate you
two staying later
to discuss the situation.
Make sure all your members
take this serious.
Drugs are dangerous.
Girls.
I'm so glad you're back safely.
Thank you.
Can you and I have a word
in private?
Oh. Sure.
Alex and Raye, they're
waiting for you in the kitchen.
I can't believe this happened.
My girls,
they've been through so much.
They certainly have.
There's something
I need to ask you.
One of the girls mentioned
you were in possession
of Heather's purse
earlier tonight.
Chrissy. Is there a problem?
We found a bottle
of drugs in Heather's purse.
Can't be certain
till the coroner's report
comes back, but we suspect
it was laced with fentanyl.
I don't think I like
what you're insinuating.
I didn't look in her purse.
I only handed it to her.
I can assure you,
I know nothing of any drugs.
Now, if you will
excuse me,
my girls need me.
I have what I need for now.
I know where to find you
if I need anything else.
[girls arguing faintly]
[Alex] I don't want to keep
talking about this.
Heather just died
a few hours ago.
[Alex and Raye speaking
over each other]
-And you're--
-It's not real!
-Girls! Stop!
-Yes, it is!
Stop the fighting!
What is going on here?
Alex is upset
because Raye decided
to tell everyone at the party
our sorority is cursed.
Raye, how do you expect us
to get a decent pledge class
if our own members are spreading
wild rumors like that?
Talk to her. She's
the one who pulled the cards
suggesting more death to come.
No, I did not pull anything.
Well,
you knocked them out of my hand
and they spoke loud and clear.
Please, hand me the cards.
Raye.
I'm sure you won't mind
if I hold on to these
for a few days
until things settle down.
No. My grandmother
gave those cards to me.
They were the first deck
she ever owned.
Figures.
Let Layla keep them.
It would bring some peace
to the house.
Even if it's just
for a little while.
I'll keep them safe.
All right everybody, off to bed.
I will discuss this
with you tomorrow.
[gentle music]
[birds chirping]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[eerie music]
-[Brianna] Chrissy.
-[Chrissy gasps]
What the heck?
Sorry, but have you seen this?
You knew
people would be talking.
So you're just going
to ignore it?
Layla is going to freak.
Then don't tell her.
I'll see if I can get
the picture taken down.
That would help.
I'm sure a lot of people
have already seen it.
Are you girls fighting again?
I had no idea that this election
would cause
so much drama
between the two of you.
-We're fine.
-Yeah. We're fine.
Layla, you look great.
Thank you. [giggles]
Big meeting this morning.
And you two are exactly
who I wanted to talk to.
So, the president
of the university called me this
morning, and she suggested
that we hold a campus
wide candlelight vigil in honour
of Heather and Jennifer.
That's a great idea.
[Layla] It really is.
It's so important for us to come
together at times like this.
And the fact
that she would like it to be
campus wide is a true testament
to our members
and our contributions
to the student body.
Yeah, Chrissy and I can let
the members know.
There's more.
So, President Arnold asked that
the women of Mu Kappa Alpha
hand out the candles.
And I expect each of you
to take this seriously.
In all my years
working here at Chester,
I've never even spoken
to President Arnold,
much less been asked
to be in charge of something.
-We'll be happy to help.
-Oh, great.
I will tell her
that we won't let her down.
Wish me luck.
Is it
just me, or did that seem odd?
Definitely odd.
It's almost as if she's happy
about all this.
Well, you know there's
no explaining Layla.
Yeah, but that was over the top,
even for her.
It's like the attention
she's getting from President
Arnold is more important
than the sisters we lost.
Can we talk about this later?
I have to go.
Yeah, I guess.
I'll text you when I find out
what time we need to be there
to set up for the vigil.
Thanks. And do you think
that you can get that picture
taken down before class?
I'll be surprised
if anyone wants to Rush MKA
-this semester.
-Stop worrying.
I'll get the picture
taken down ASAP,
and I'll help Layla
set up until you can get there.
[soft music]
Hi, Jared.
Hey. I didn't
know if you'd be working today.
It's actually nice
getting out of the house.
It's starting to feel
small these days.
Thanks for the heads
up on our socials.
Chrissy was able to get that
picture taken down.
It's on the house.
Oh, thanks. Good.
How are you feeling?
Did you
get any sleep last night?
Not much.
Raye and Alex started arguing
again
once we got back to the house.
-About Raye's tarot cards?
-Yeah.
Layla
finally took them away, and Raye
didn't take that too well.
She carries them everywhere
for guidance and clarity.
I have to admit,
Raye even spooked me
with the more death reading.
I have to get back to work.
Sorry.
Want to meet me for lunch later?
I can't today.
I work again tomorrow.
But maybe you can bring me
some lunch on my break at noon?
Sounds good.
I wish you'd let me help
out more.
Bye.
Oh, gosh.
I hope we have enough candles.
Me too.
President Arnold sent an email
to all students and faculty,
so we're expecting
a really big turnout.
Gayle.
So nice to see you.
Chrissy, would you mind
giving us a minute?
No problem.
Is everything all right?
I'm just concerned
about the safety of the girls.
Oh, well, I can assure you
that their safety is
my number one priority.
Is it?
-Sorry.
-Don't worry. We're done.
President Arnold's assistant
just dropped these off.
Good. Real good.
All right.
-Why don't you,
-[car engine revs]
make some more room
for it right here.
-You can set them there.
-Okay.
[somber music]
[eerie music]
[Alex shrieks]
Raye.
This isn't funny, Raye.
It wasn't me.
But these are my cards.
Layla was supposed to have them.
Who did this?
You're the clairvoyant.
Why don't you tell us?
Oh. You're hilarious, Chrissy.
I have no idea.
But I would never disrespect
my cards like this.
I thought I heard something out
here.
What's going on?
Who did you give my cards to?
Nobody.
So you did this?
Of course not.
Are you sure those are yours?
-I'm positive.
-But they can't be.
I put yours in my dresser.
[dramatic music]
See? They're here in my dresser,
right where I left them.
This isn't all of them.
The three cards stuck
to the front door are missing.
And those are the same
three cards
that Alex pulled the other night
at the party.
Maybe it's a coincidence.
No. No, there's, there's no way.
Did one of you girls take them?
Don't look at me.
Those things are freaky.
Yeah,
I wouldn't mess with them.
Or, Raye, for that matter.
[dramatic music]
Who cleaned up the front door?
Not me.
The lipstick's gone.
That's a good thing, right?
We don't need any more
bad publicity.
I woke up this morning thinking
we should call the police
after everything
that's been happening.
Why?
So you can throw me
under the bus again?
Blame this on me, too?
Sounds like someone's
having some trouble
with their BFF.
She'll get over it.
And for the record, I didn't
throw her under the bus.
The police asked me a question,
and I answered it honestly.
I know you think
it was one of the sisters,
but they're not
the ones who had the cards.
Why? Do you think
Layla might have done something?
Good morning ladies.
I'm going to make
some breakfast.
Do either of you want anything?
I see Raye's
still upset about last night.
I think we're all still upset
about everything that's
been happening around here.
-Hey, Jared.
-Hey.
I got us burgers and fries.
I hope that's okay.
Sounds great.
I'm starving.
No tomatoes?
[Jared] Of course not.
You hate them.
How's everything?
How's everyone at the MKA house?
Honestly? Terrible.
We found this
on the front door of the house
last night
when we got back from the vigil.
That's crazy.
Mh-hm.
Any idea who did it?
We don't know.
But don't tell Raye
I took that picture.
This morning she said we should
have called the police.
Shouldn't you?
This might have been a warning
to shut her up.
Who knows?
I just want this all to be over.
Do you want me to try and
talk to Raye?
You're sweet. But,
I don't think that would help.
Well,
I'm hoping that you're still
planning to run for president.
Your sorority needs you.
Thank you.
I am.
I don't want to let them down.
[soft music]
You won't.
[suspenseful music]
Raye! Raye! Open up!
What's going on? You're going
to wake everyone up.
I'll show you.
These weren't here
when I left for my run.
Something's wrong.
I just know it.
-Raye wouldn't have done this.
-I know.
She was so upset when you
knocked them out of her hands.
I feel like
we need to find her.
Oh, sometimes
Raye goes to the quad
to do her morning meditations.
Yeah. Let's go.
-[dramatic music]
-[Raye screams]
[Layla] It's okay.
We're going to figure this out.
[gentle music]
Why are you looking at me
like that?
If I'm honest?
Seems like tragedy follows you.
What's that supposed to mean?
You tell me.
You argued with Jennifer,
Heather, and now Raye.
-All before they died.
-Chrissy!
[whispers] That is enough.
Did you push Raye?
No, I don't--
I was with Brianna
when we heard someone scream.
We weren't even near her.
Chrissy, you need to stop.
This is ridiculous. I expected
more out of the two of you.
Well talk to Chrissy.
She's
the one accusing me of murder.
That was low.
Why would you
say something like that?
I'll go tell the other sisters
about Raye.
Actually, I think it'd be best
if you let me handle it.
Would you like to help me
tell the other girls?
Me?
I think that your faith would be
comforting at a time like this.
Yeah, if you think it'll help.
Time to call a meeting.
[Layla] I know.
I can't believe
that we've lost somebody else.
I wanted to let you know that
we're in the process of hiring
additional campus security.
We will have
someone posted outside the house
24 hours a day.
I think that will make us all
feel better.
I assure you,
with the death of three women
living in the same house,
police are making this
investigation our top priority.
I'm very grateful for everything
that you're doing.
Please keep a close eye out
and let us know
if you see anything unusual.
I will.
Layla. Hi.
I just heard what happened.
-Can I help?
-No.
I'm sorry, Gayle,
I think that seeing you alone
might upset the girls further.
Why don't you go home
and lock your doors.
[door clicks]
[door shuts]
There you are.
Now's not a good time.
I just want to be alone.
Well, everyone is
about to meet in the common room
to talk about
what's been happening.
Why?
You girls need to do some
bonding, some rebuilding
and grab your pillow.
I'd like everyone
to stay together tonight.
I'm not sure Chrissy and I could
ever rebuild.
About that.
Several of the members
have come to me
and asked that Alex
be our president.
At least temporarily,
through Rush.
I think that's a great idea.
Really? You mean that?
Yeah.
I think you're exactly
what we need right now.
I'm so relieved.
Chrissy wasn't exactly receptive
to the idea.
Don't worry about Chrissy.
She'll come around.
I'm not so sure about that.
So, you'll join us?
Yeah.
Great.
I think this is a
really good idea.
Brianna.
I'm really glad you're here.
I don't know what to do.
Layla wants me
to start this discussion.
The members are scared.
Just tell them
everything is going to be okay.
It's such a waste.
She doesn't even want to be
president.
So, first of all,
I just wanted to thank everyone
for agreeing to this.
I know we're all scared, but
I'm hoping tonight
will bring us closer together.
I mean, we're sisters, right?
You need to be there for each
other at times like this.
So, I was thinking
that we could open up the floor
to anybody who wanted to share
how they're feeling.
This is a safe space.
And as you can see,
it's set up in here
so we can all spend
the night together.
I think
we'll all feel safer that way.
Brianna, could you please start?
[soft music]
I love being an MKA.
You are all the sisters
I've always wanted.
I'm scared.
What if something happens
to another one of us?
To keep the MKA
as the best sorority on campus,
we need to recruit the best
pledge class this year.
[dramatic music]
[door squeals]
-[dramatic music continues]
-[Layla shrieks]
Help!
[Layla's screaming muffled]
Layla?
Layla.
Layla, I'm sorry,
I don't mean to wake you--
[Alex screams]
Hey, brother.
[door clicks]
Alex?
[door slams]
What's going on?
I need everyone to stay right
here.
We'll send someone out to
explain things as
soon as we can.
Chrissy. Detective
Blair says to stay right here.
I'm still in the room.
Does anybody know
what's going on?
I was asleep until I heard
the banging on the door.
I think we all were.
Except Alex.
She knows what's going on.
Alex is
giving her statement right now,
so I would ask for everyone
to be patient.
However,
if anyone heard anything
unusual last night,
we'd like to speak to you now.
Give it some thought.
We are interested
in hearing about anything
out of the ordinary
that happened last night.
-Yes?
-Is Layla okay?
No, I'm afraid she's not.
All I can tell you
is that we believe Miss
Anderson was murdered sometime
in the middle of the night.
How could this have happened?
We were all together.
I mean, somebody would have
heard something.
That's what
we are investigating now.
This house is now an active
crime scene.
No one is allowed to leave
until we speak to everyone.
Do we have to stay
in this room?
No. You can move around the
house, but there are some rules.
No one goes
inside Miss Anderson's room.
No one goes outside.
No one leaves the house
for any reason.
We will have
officers posted by every door.
For your safety.
What about classes?
We're going to contact
the university here shortly
to explain the situation.
You will all be excused
from classes today.
For now,
I need you all to be patient.
What are we supposed to do now?
I think we would all feel better
if we take our stuff
back to our rooms
and get this room cleaned up.
Chrissy's right.
Everybody grab your stuff.
Did you just tell everyone
you thought I was right?
I'm just trying to get through
this.
Don't let it get to your head.
So, what happened?
I don't know.
I woke up early,
and I thought
I heard someone scream, so.
I went to check on Layla.
That's when I found her.
I'm so sorry.
That must have been awful.
Yeah.
I just don't understand how
this could have happened with
all of us sleeping out there.
Are you sure?
Was everyone asleep
when you came back to the room?
[curious music]
My gosh.
You think it could have been
one of our members?
Police
are currently investigating yet
another death here at the Mu
Kappa
Alpha House
at Chester University.
This time, we have learned
it is not a student.
Police suspect
foul play was involved.
Stay tuned to Channel
5 for your up to the minute
reporting on this tragic news
at Chester University.
This has been Cynthia Lawson
reporting to you live
from the Mu Kappa Alpha House.
This has to be
related to Jennifer's death.
What are you doing?
I want to lay out
where all the sisters were
when each of
the deaths happened.
I don't think this is all
a coincidence.
Will you ask all the others to
check in with me by
the end of the day?
Yeah, but
you really think
it might have been one of us?
I'm hoping this proves
it's not one of us.
[dramatic music]
But I can't just sit around
while the police investigate.
Someone else could be dead
before they find the killer.
We have house lock down.
Layla, MKA, not alone.
Yeah, we got it.
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[dramatic music continues]
Your diagram
makes it look like I was alone.
Jared was with me
when I found Heather.
I didn't think of it like that.
I was only doing this
for the members.
But, yeah, I'll add him.
Yeah.
He's the
one who got the door unlocked
and found her.
[Brianna] This place
feels like prison.
Have you heard back from Jared?
Can his dad
help us get out of here?
He's working on it.
Hopefully we'll hear something
in the morning.
I feel like I'm missing
something.
I mean, you've been at it
for hours.
You're right.
Maybe if I take a break
and look at it with fresh eyes
I'll see something.
Do you think we're safe?
Detective Blair said there are
are cops at all the doors.
But I'm sleeping with one eye
open, just in case.
[phone vibrating]
[phone vibrating]
[phone vibrating]
Hello?
[Jared] What are you doing?
-Sleeping.
-[Jared] Well, wake up.
I've got good news.
Your dad's gonna help us?
[Jared] He's meeting with the
Chief of Police as we speak.
They can't keep holding all of
you there without evidence.
Thank you.
Everyone's
so scared and keeping us
locked in here is just making
everything worse.
[Jared] Any leads on
who killed Layla?
The police didn't
tell us anything last night.
[door knocking]
Come in.
[door clicks]
Detective Blair wants everyone
in the common room
in 15 minutes.
Did you hear that?
I have to go.
[Jared] Okay. Let me know
what happens.
I will. Thanks.
First, I want to thank everyone
for your cooperation yesterday.
We've had the chance
to speak to each of you.
Now we're going to close down
the MKA house
to complete the investigation.
So we need each of you
to get everything you need for
the next few days.
If you don't have family
or friends
you want to stay with,
the university
will provide on-campus housing.
My family's out of state and all
my friends are in this house.
Mine too.
Looks like on-campus
housing for us.
We have all your cell phones
here, so we will keep
you updated on when you will be
allowed back in the house.
Thank you again.
You're free to go.
[dramatic music]
[camera shutters]
Girls. Girls,
do you have any information on
what's been happening today
inside the house?
What did they say to you
before you left?
Did you know anything
that was happening earlier?
Girls,
do you have any information?
Just one minute of your time.
Girls,
do you have anything to say?
[trunk slams]
[Brianna] I appreciate you
offering to let us stay here.
Yeah. I wasn't excited about
going to on-campus housing.
[Gayle] It's my pleasure.
[ominous music]
[door clicks]
-[door shuts]
-You two are welcome
to stay here
as long as you need.
That's so nice.
But I just realized
we don't have our cars.
And you live too far from campus
for us to walk.
Don't worry about that.
You can use Jennifer's car
while you're here.
Her keys
are just in the kitchen.
I know my house is small, but
it's all we could afford after
Jennifer's father passed away.
Thankfully, Jennifer's job
at the library really helped
cover a lot of her expenses.
And I'm rambling.
You two must be exhausted.
I'll show you to your room.
[door clicks]
You two can share
the guest room.
That's Jennifer's room.
-I'm just not ready--
-We're happy to share.
Right Chrissy?
Um, yeah, sharing is great.
It's perfect,
Mrs. Stapleton.
-Call me Gayle.
-Thank you. Gayle.
It's gonna be really nice
having the two of you there.
I'm regretting
not staying on campus.
Sleeping across the hall
from Jennifer's room,
gives me the creeps.
Yeah,
I didn't think about that when
Gayle offered us to stay here.
It's got to be better than
on-campus housing.
Maybe.
Brianna,
there's someone here to see you.
Who knows we're here?
It's got to be Jared.
I texted him on the way over.
You invite him over?
No, I'm sorry.
Well, he's waiting for you.
Hope this isn't like,
a date thing.
Because I'm coming with you.
I'm not staying here alone.
You know what I mean?
I understand.
And it's not a date.
Everyone knows
Jared and I are just friends.
Yeah, I heard that before.
[Jared] So how are you two?
[Brianna] Honestly,
we're a little freaked out.
The police
haven't said anything.
All we know is that there's
a murderer on the loose.
Well, at least
you still have a safe place
to stay here
with Mrs. Stapleton.
Yeah, I hope so.
I'm here for you as well.
Always.
Well,
I should probably get going.
Do you guys you mind if
I use the restroom real quick?
Sure. It's just
across the living room.
Okay.
He is so cute.
He's definitely into you.
Yeah, like a big brother's
into his little sister.
What a waste.
I swear, you're the only
person who doesn't see it.
Oh, shoot.
I left my phone.
Did you by chance
leave it in the bathroom?
Chrissy.
Your loss.
[door creaks]
[door clicks]
[eerie music]
Ladies, I think I'm gonna take a
bath and head to bed early.
You should.
-Thanks for dinner.
-And for letting us stay here.
Of course.
Oh, please, let us clean up.
Yeah,
it's the least we could do.
Thank you.
Have a good night.
[door shuts]
Can I ask you something?
It's probably nothing.
Sure. What is it?
Can you think of
any reason Jared would have gone
into Jennifer's room today?
Jared went into Jen's room?
Maybe he went in
there by mistake.
Thought it was the bathroom.
No, he was inside her room
with the door closed.
I don't think it was a mistake.
Jared and Jen were friends.
Maybe
he just was saying goodbye.
Maybe.
But I think I may want to go
take a look for myself.
Maybe I can learn something
about the secret
Jen told Heather.
I mean, she said
it had something to do with me,
and I feel like
I should know what it is.
Are you saying
you want to go into Jen's room?
You do realize that
the only two people
that know that secret are dead?
Maybe you don't want to know.
Four people have died.
And it started with Jennifer.
What if we're all missing
something?
I'll just go take a quick
look once Gayle is asleep.
Okay.
Let me know what you find
because I'm not going in there.
No way.
Okay.
[Chrissy] Please stop
pacing and go already.
I'm sure she's asleep.
Okay.
You're right.
[door clicks]
[suspenseful music]
What are you doing?
I didn't like being alone.
So you decided to come in here
and scare me instead?
I came
to help. What are you doing?
Why would Jennifer
hide her computer?
Let's see if we can find out.
[curious music]
Fingers crossed.
How do you know her password?
Jen lent me her iPad last month
for a project.
Most people use the same
password for all their devices.
What is SlutNTie?
I've never heard of it.
"I haven't seen any new videos."
"Don't make me cancel
my subscription."
Subscription?
"When are you dropping
this week's video? Can't wait!"
What are they talking about?
Oh my gosh.
I think SlutNTie
is a fetish video site.
Jennifer must have been
a content writer.
No, that can't be.
It's got to be a mistake.
A scam or something.
[keyboard clacking]
Okay, we shouldn't be looking
at this.
It's too late now.
Besides, you're the one
who wanted to come in
here in the first place.
What were you up to Jen?
You definitely
weren't a librarian.
Brianna.
Come look at this.
I've seen enough.
No, you have to see this.
Jennifer's site was attached
to her cloud storage.
A video was uploaded on the day
she died,
but it wasn't published.
I think we should watch it.
I don't think that's
a smart idea.
Brianna. Come on.
There.
Now say something.
[distorted] Testing.
See?
You have nothing to worry about.
No one will have any idea
who you are.
I really appreciate
you doing this for me.
I didn't want to tell you
about it.
But you've
been so understanding.
Not everyone has a secret
boyfriend
who would do this sort of thing.
[distorted] You know I'm not
happy about this.
I know, but it's a lot of money.
And don't forget,
you get me and half the money.
[distorted] Is your mom
okay with all of this?
She thinks I'm at the library.
I have a studio set up
in a storage unit
where I shoot all my videos.
I've never done anything here
before, but a subscriber
wanted a home invasion
video of me as a cheerleader,
and I couldn't
pull that off there.
Plus, I need a sexy attacker
to break in.
So here we are.
Let's do this.
Before my mom gets home.
And remember, for what he's
paying, it's got to look
believable.
[distorted] Remember
on our first date
when I asked you how many guys
you've been with before?
Me is it three?
Of course.
[distorted] You didn't mention
you have 500 subscribers
paying you to
take your clothes off.
I believe that counts
as a 503 body count.
You know
subscribers don't count.
I don't
actually do anything with them.
Now come on,
you're in my shot.
Go get the yearbook.
[dramatic music]
[suspenseful music]
[Jennifer choking]
[dramatic music]
He, he killed her.
-Who was that?
-I don't know.
Jen said it was her
secret boyfriend.
I'm sending this to
Detective Blair.
-You carry his card around?
-Yeah.
With everyone dropping dead
like this, I keep it close.
I know where
her storage unit is.
I've been there.
-You've been to her studio?
-Yeah.
Did you know
she was making these videos?
Of course not.
I was in the car with her
when she dropped a box off.
My God, now it makes sense.
It was heavy, and she didn't
want me to help her.
It's right by campus.
That's it.
I'm calling Detective Blair.
[phone dialling]
It's late.
What did you expect?
I think we should go
and take a look for ourselves.
No. I think we should wait
until morning.
Are you
going to be able to sleep?
That's what I thought.
Come on.
[keys jingle]
[eerie music]
Lock yourself in the car
and stay down.
I'll be right back.
[door shuts]
[eerie music]
Detective Blair?
Are you okay?
Did you get the text
that Chrissy sent you?
Then how did you know
to come here?
I followed...
No, Detective Blair,
followed who?
[door rumbles]
Followed me.
Why would you put my name down
on the board, Brianna?
I was just...
listing everyone's alibis.
When Detective
Blair saw my name,
he did some digging
and realized that
my alibis didn't hold up.
You pointed him right at me.
It was you.
In that video, you,
you killed Jennifer.
And Detective Blair--
Did you know I was Jennifer's
little secret?
No, not until tonight.
Is that why you were in
her room tonight?
Yeah. I needed to find this unit
to be sure that it wouldn't
lead anyone back to me.
The first time
I went into Jennifer's house,
her mom came home
and interrupted my search.
You were the one who broke in?
Why?
At first, I was just
trying to protect myself.
But then everyone started
blaming you.
And that was even worse.
I had to protect you too.
Are you talking about Heather?
Jennifer told her
that we were dating.
I don't know why
she trusted her.
And then when I overheard
the two of you talking,
I knew she was close to telling
you our secret.
Technically,
it was an accidental overdose.
I thought if she was caught
with drugs,
then she would get kicked
out of the sorority.
I didn't know
the drugs were tainted.
The thing is,
once you've killed once,
it just gets easier and easier.
Like with Raye?
Did you kill her, too?
It's
nice of you to join us, Chrissy.
Well, since you've asked.
Raye started
pointing fingers at Brianna,
and then she started telling
everyone, including the police,
that Brianna was fighting with
Heather the night Heather died.
All I've done
is try to protect you.
And you didn't
even have the decency to tell me
that Chrissy was here with you.
You want to play games, Jared?
Let's play.
Oh, Chrissy.
[dramatic music]
[Jared] There's nowhere
for you to go.
Chrissy. Behind you.
[door rumbles]
[door slams]
[door rumbles]
-Game over.
-[Brianna] My thoughts exactly.
[body thuds]
Help me.
I already called the cops.
[door rumbles]
I was lonely, Brianna.
Then why did you date Jennifer?
I don't understand.
You admired her.
I figured, when she told you
what a good boyfriend,
I was, you'd see me differently.
But that all changed when
she got me into her sick world
of fetish videos.
We could have been great
together, Brianna.
[sirens blare]
[sirens blare]
[door shuts]
[handcuffs rattle]
[dramatic music]
[all laughing]
-Can you grab the plates?
-I've got them right here.
Oh, perfect.
I think we're ready.
Thanks so much for stepping in
to be our new house mom.
Of course.
When Chrissy told me
the university was considering
shutting your chapter down,
I knew I needed to help.
This place
meant the world to Jennifer.
Just like it does all of you.
All the potential new members
should be here any minute.
You're right. Let's give them
all a grand MKA welcome.
I'm so glad the two of
you decided to be co-presidents.
I'm better suited as chaplain.
[all laughing]
Jennifer would be proud of
both of you.
[doorbell rings]
Looks like Rush is officially
about to start. Come on.
It's gonna be a good day
[upbeat music]
It's gonna be a good day
It's gonna be a
damn good day
It's gonna be a
damn good day
Yeah, here's to a
damn good day
[upbeat music continues]
It's gonna be a good day
It's gonna be a good day
[dramatic music]
[dramatic music continues]
[dramatic music continues]
[dramatic music continues]
[uplifting music]
[dramatic music]
[dramatic music continues]
[somber music]
I'm so sorry about Jennifer.
Thanks, Jared.
I still can't believe
she's gone.
[somber music continues]
You better go.
I'll see you at the memorial.
Thank you all for being here
today
to celebrate Jennifer's life.
She loved each
and every one of you.
And because you're here,
I know that you loved her, too.
To her sisters,
at MKA.
I want to thank you
for electing her president.
It meant more to her
than you could ever imagine.
She loved being a part
of Mu Kappa Alpha.
And she loved each of you
so very much.
Although Jennifer
was an only child,
my only child,
here at Chester University,
she finally had the
sisters she'd always dreamed of.
Jennifer's death is a tragedy,
which makes this so difficult.
I don't know
if I'll ever understand
how someone could do
something like this to her.
But I do know
that Jennifer would want us
to lean on each other
through this difficult time.
But most importantly,
you must always be careful.
So that nothing like this
ever happens again.
May we find the strength
to do so.
And the love that Jennifer
left behind.
Thank you.
[somber music continues]
You two were special
to Jennifer.
Promise me that you'll keep her
legacy alive.
[chain rattles]
My condolences on the
loss of your daughter.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
When you have the time,
please come down the station.
We'd like to talk with you.
What's Detective Blair
doing here?
Shouldn't he be trying to
figure out who killed Jennifer?
We can get
to the bottom of this.
Maybe that's what he's doing.
-God bless you.
-Thank you.
[gentle music]
[door knocking]
Come in.
How are you holding up?
Not great.
Jennifer
was one of my best friends.
My MKA big sister, and,
now she's gone.
I know.
We're all in shock.
Not all of us.
Chrissy's acting like
nothing happened.
Well, maybe that's
just how she's coping with it.
Doesn't she realize that
there's a killer on the loose
and that we could
all be in danger?
There you two are.
Everyone's downstairs waiting.
Layla called like, a house
meeting or something.
House meeting? What for?
Why don't you tell me?
Can't you, like,
tell the future or something?
Honestly, I'm not up for it.
I'm sure everyone will
understand if I skip this one.
But you're one of the people
who has to be there.
So you do know what it's about.
Layla mentioned something
about picking Jennifer's
replacement
for chapter president.
Already?
That's what I heard.
And I also heard...
Jennifer was trying to get Layla
fired.
That is not true.
Why do you always spread rumors?
-I share--
-Both of you!
Jennifer's funeral
was only a couple of hours ago.
It's too soon.
Okay, so why don't
you come downstairs
and tell Layla that
yourself then?
What is Layla thinking?
This is wrong.
I know,
but I think you should go.
I did a reading after
the funeral.
You're the one who should lead
-this chapter now.
-Raye.
-That's sweet, but--
-I know you don't believe in it.
But I do. Completely.
Maybe we should go down
and see what Layla has to say.
Yeah.
[gentle music]
So glad you could make it.
Brianna, I heard that you think
this meeting is too soon,
and I understand.
But, Detective Blair suggested
that we just continue on
with our normal activities.
I know it'll be hard,
but I agree.
We just need to carry on
because we don't know how long
the investigation will be.
I just don't see
how it would hurt to wait
at least a day.
Classes start tomorrow
and Rush is only two weeks away.
So I just thought
that it would be easiest
to meet today
while we're all here together.
So let's get started.
As all of you know,
Mu Kappa Alpha is the elite
sorority here
at Chester University.
[all clapping]
And if we intend
to maintain
that level of excellence,
we need to show
our new potential members
who we are.
We cannot let Jennifer's murder
be what defines us.
Yes, Alex.
I've been praying about it.
And I think we should consider
not taking
a pledge class this semester.
Well, I
understand your feelings, Alex.
That is absolutely not possible.
Excellence breeds excellence.
If we want to continue
to be the best sorority
here on campus,
we must recruit the best.
I know that it might sound cold.
[whispers] So I heard Layla on
the phone the other day
talking to somebody,
and she was saying that
she already thinks
we're behind the Deltas,
including the semester.
And she said she'd never let
that happen.
Heather.
Do you have something you'd
like to share with the group?
-No.
-Then I'll continue.
As most of you know,
our bylaws state that
in order to become president,
you must be an upperclassman
and you must have served
on executive council
for at least two semesters.
That leaves us with
three potential candidates.
And I must say that I do find it
fitting
that two of those candidates
were Jennifer's little sisters,
Brianna and Chrissy.
[Layla and Heather clapping]
Yay! Please, ladies,
come up and join me.
And our third candidate
would be Alex.
But considering
she doesn't think
we even need a pledge class
this semester,
I think we can all agree that
she isn't the best candidate.
Who does she think she is?
Would you want
to be president?
Does it matter?
Sounds like I'm
not even an option.
I don't fit the mold of who
Layla wants in charge of Rush.
It's not her decision.
Layla is House Mom.
She doesn't even get a vote.
I would like each of you
to consider
which of these two candidates
you think
best to lead us through these
very difficult times.
We will vote
at the end of the week,
and I am confident
that you girls
will make the right decision.
[eerie music]
-Hey.
-So...
What's
the word around the house?
Honestly,
like, everybody's scared.
You know, with the killer
still out there?
No one's talking about
the election.
That's what I was afraid of.
I need to try and change
the mood around the house.
I'll totally help you with that.
-We all know you're the fun tw--
-Ah.
You know, I hate
when people call us twins.
Just because Brianna and I are,
I mean, were,
both Jennifer's little sisters
doesn't mean we're
anything alike.
Plus, I am so sick of hearing
everyone say,
"Brianna was her
favourite twin."
Not everyone says that.
Okay. Some people like you
better because
you keep things exciting.
But then other people
like Brianna because,
you know, she's more organized.
She's more like Jennifer.
Might be harder than I thought
to be the next president.
[door clicks]
Donuts for everyone.
Thank you, Chrissy.
That's so thoughtful.
What can I say?
The last few days
have been tough, so
I just wanted to do something
nice for everyone
on our first day of class.
I got blueberry, Raye.
I know they're your favourite.
Are you trying to buy our votes?
Raye. I'm hurt.
I mean, can't a girl
do something thoughtful?
Oh, of course you can.
I mean, in that case,
I'll take one for Brianna, too.
I mean, you want to be
thoughtful to her, too.
Right?
Yeah. Of course.
Great. Well, thanks for
the donuts, but
I'm still voting for Brianna.
She really gets under my skin.
Don't worry about her. Okay?
Good morning. I got donuts
for everyone. Woo!
[Brianna] I hate this.
How can we just start classes
like nothing happened?
[Raye] I know, it's so weird
but saying that won't bring
Jennifer back.
[Brianna] You're right.
But I feel like I'm
constantly
looking over my shoulder
to see if someone's there.
[Raye] Me too.
But there's no reason for us
to think that we're targets.
Oh, nice. That's cool.
Brianna.
Traitor.
-What did I do?
-Fraternizing with the enemy.
-Chrissy's not the enemy.
-Rival?
Wait.
Am I missing something?
Either Brianna or Chrissy
will be replacing Jennifer
as the next MKA president.
Congratulations.
You'd be a great president.
Can you imagine how amazing
it will be
when you are the president
of Mu Kappa Alpha, and I'm
the president of Omega Gamma.
We will rule the Panhellenic
Council.
Don't you think you're getting
a little ahead of yourself?
There's no way
Chrissy gets elected over you.
Don't be so sure.
She can be pretty persuasive.
Oh, please.
Everyone can see
right through her.
"I bought your favourite donut."
I can't tell.
Do you even want it?
Maybe I do.
I definitely don't want Chrissy
ruining
everything Jennifer has worked
so hard to build.
I knew it. And you would be
so much better than Chrissy.
Well, no question there.
So what do I do?
Well, you got to fight for it.
Let everyone know that
you want it.
Shoot, I've got to get to class.
But Raye's right.
Let people know you want it.
You can start tonight
at the Omega Gamma party.
There would be lots
of people there.
All right, catch you later.
-Oh. He's cute, huh?
-Jared?
Come on. You know,
he's like my big brother.
-Our moms are best friends.
-So?
He even calls me his little sis.
Well, Madam President,
I hate to tell you this,
but that look he just gave you
is definitely not a look
a guy
gives to his little sister.
[bright music]
[door squeaks]
[door thuds]
Brianna.
I'm so glad you made it home
before I left.
Mrs. Stapleton, I didn't
realize you were coming
by today.
Please, call me Gayle.
It was a last minute decision.
I had a meeting at the police
station this afternoon,
so I thought I'd come by
and pick up some of Jennifer's
things while I was out.
So I called Layla.
And Layla asked
me to help Gayle.
Can I ask you girls something?
Of course.
Did Jennifer
mention anything about someone
wanting to hurt her
or her being afraid of them?
-No, not to me.
-Me either.
And she stopped by the coffee
shop in the afternoon
while I was working,
but she seemed fine.
I feel like I would have known
if she was scared.
I meant what I said
at the funeral.
Jennifer loved all of you girls.
But you two were her favourites.
[somber music]
She was really proud
to be your big sister.
We loved her too.
Promise me
if either of you need anything,
that you'll call?
My cell is on this.
I mean it.
Call me.
-We will.
-Promise.
-I'll take this.
-Yeah.
I can't even imagine
what it must be like
to lose your only child.
[dramatic music]
[door squeaks]
I'm so excited we're heading
to the party, girl.
You can beat Brianna
at some campaigning.
Oh, I swear,
this is just like last year
when we both
wanted to be Social Chair.
And you got it.
So can you stop worrying?
Thanks to me,
the MKA's did have
all the best parties on campus.
You know what? We totally did.
Heather.
Hey, you forgot your purse.
[eerie music]
Thank you.
You girls be careful tonight.
We will.
[dramatic music]
[eerie music]
[dramatic music]
-Gayle.
-[Gayle shrieks]
Oh, my gosh.
I am so sorry.
It's fine. It's fine. I just...
Sorry.
That's okay.
I just didn't
expect to see you in my house.
I didn't mean to scare you.
I just wanted to put some dinner
in your oven to stay warm.
-Dinner?
-I'm worried that you're not
eating,
so I brought over a casserole.
Oh. Hope you don't mind.
I used your hidden key
to let myself in.
Thanks.
You probably shouldn't
hide a key outside.
You know, Gayle.
As much as I love
having you as my neighbour.
Do you think that maybe
you should consider
putting your house on the market
and getting a fresh start?
No, I can't.
At least not yet.
I feel close to Jennifer here.
I understand.
Yeah, well,
I'm gonna get out of your hair.
Have a good dinner.
[curious music]
[eerie music]
[dramatic music]
[door thuds]
[phone dialling]
[phone chimes]
[curious music]
[upbeat party music]
I got a fever
It's running
through my veins
I'm in the mood to
Dance the night away
Can't keep my feet from
chasing the groove
Stand back and
give me some room
I knew I shouldn't have let you
two talk me into coming tonight.
You know
parties aren't my thing.
Come on.
You're already here.
[upbeat party music continues]
Hey, what's up ladies?
I'm surprised to see you
here, Alex.
I don't think I've ever seen you
at one of our parties before.
It's my first one.
Well then, welcome to your
first Omega Gamma party.
Relax.
Enjoy yourself.
That's why we're all here.
Thanks, Jared.
There's some drinks at the bar,
and you might want to
stay a while.
You guys,
your competition's out here,
and she's been campaigning
since they got here.
Jared's right.
Let's go get you a drink.
I think you're going to need it.
[man] Hey, Jared.
[upbeat party music continues]
Cheers.
Are you guys going
for points?
I just keep getting better.
Well just go talk to people
like you--
-Everybody--
-Shh. Hey, April.
Hi.
I was hoping to see
some of the MKA's here tonight.
I wanted to let you know
that the members of Delta Iota
are sorry about
what happened to Jennifer.
We're all so shocked.
I certainly hope
her killer is brought to justice
so it doesn't happen
to anyone else.
Thank you.
It's been a difficult time
for all of us
at the MKA house.
I'm sure.
Do you think you'll have a
new president in time for Rush?
You might be looking at her.
Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Wait, wait.
I want to hear this.
Congratulations.
I think you'd be great.
Thanks.
I think that Jennifer
would approve of
her as her replacement, too.
Don't you think?
Sure, I guess.
I'm gonna go mingle.
Why would you say something
like that?
Because it's true. Look,
Jennifer and I had gotten,
like, pretty close lately.
She even told me something
that no one else knows.
Now I'm interested.
Spill it.
[Heather] No. Look,
I swore on my mother's life
that I wouldn't say anything.
Now I don't know, okay. Like,
maybe the statute of limitations
ran out when Jennifer died?
You know, I agree with that.
-Let's hear it.
-Stop.
Stop trying to milk
attention out of tragedy.
You and Jennifer weren't
even close.
She would have never confided
in you.
Actually, she did confide in me.
And it's like
a really big secret.
As a matter of fact,
Brianna, it's
something that you would find
especially interesting.
What's that supposed to mean?
How about you stop being
so self-righteous, Brianna.
You're not the
only one Jennifer liked.
Hey.
Girls, might want
to keep it down.
People are watching.
Jared's right.
This isn't the time or place
for this.
Tell that to Heather
and Chrissy.
They're the ones spreading lies.
If Jennifer did, in fact,
confide a secret in you,
I suggest
you tell the police about it.
So I wonder if the saying, like,
"Taking a secret to your grave"
means
my grave or Jennifer's?
You are so bad. [chuckles]
Also, like total sidenote,
Jared would be a lot hotter
if he wasn't so obsessed
with Brianna.
I know, it's kind of weird.
Really weird.
[both laughing]
I just,
I really thought I saw someone.
[Margaret] Don't worry about it.
Police are going to check on it
right now.
Maybe I'm going crazy.
You can't be so hard
on yourself, Gayle.
I mean, you have been
through the unimaginable.
I'll be right back.
[eerie music]
Aren't you relieved?
They didn't find anything
unusual, but they're still going
to increase surveillance
around the house.
Yeah. Yes.
You still need to
be careful, all right?
No more leaving keys outside.
This is serious.
I know.
You should keep this, though.
Just in case.
Okay.
Come on.
[upbeat party music]
April. Hey.
You seen Heather?
The last time I saw her,
she was going into the bathroom.
That was a while ago.
-[door knocking]
-Heather?
[door knocking]
Heather, come on. If you're in
there this isn't funny.
[door knocking]
Heather, what are you doing?
[phone dialling]
[phone faintly rings]
[phone dialling]
Hey, we have other bathrooms.
Heather's in there.
I just called her.
I can hear her phone ringing,
but she's not answering,
and the door's locked.
-Hairpin, please.
-Um.
Oh.
[dramatic music]
[suspenseful music]
Oh, no.
I'm sorry, Chrissy.
Don't worry. I got this.
I'll call the police.
I'd like to speak
to Luke Baines next, please.
Everyone listen up.
We have a few more interviews,
and then we'll let you all go
home.
[Brianna] How'd it go?
Okay, I guess.
They asked
mostly standard questions.
Like, how well did I know
Heather?
And did she have any enemies?
Enemies?
Like, do
they think this was on purpose?
I don't know, I guess after
what happened to Jennifer,
they need to be thorough.
Did you know Heather used drugs?
I had no idea.
They asked about you.
They asked about me
specifically? Why?
I don't know.
I guess someone said
that they heard the two of you
fighting earlier tonight.
Heather and I didn't fight.
I was just simply reminding her
to keep quiet.
Don't worry.
I told them exactly
what happened.
I'm ready to leave.
I know I shouldn't
have come here tonight.
Beats
staying at the sorority house.
I'm beginning to feel like
the MKA's are cursed.
Don't say things like that.
The MKA's are not cursed.
Two people have
died in the past week,
and one of them was murdered.
Feels cursed to me.
These reveal all I need to know.
No, the Bible says trust in God
and he will
reveal everything
we need to know.
I'm sorry.
I didn't do that on purpose.
We shouldn't put our faith
in these dumb cards.
Alex, wait.
Oh, this isn't good.
[dramatic music]
These three cards together
show a strong influence
of negative energy.
-More death to come.
-More death?
Stop it, Raye.
We don't need any more negative
attention on us, or the MKA's.
Really?
I'm not the one who argued
with Heather before she died.
So you're the one who
told the police
we were fighting?
Why would you tell Detective
Blair they were fighting?
She's your friend.
He asked.
Thanks for bringing us
back, Detective Blair.
Of course.
I appreciate you
two staying later
to discuss the situation.
Make sure all your members
take this serious.
Drugs are dangerous.
Girls.
I'm so glad you're back safely.
Thank you.
Can you and I have a word
in private?
Oh. Sure.
Alex and Raye, they're
waiting for you in the kitchen.
I can't believe this happened.
My girls,
they've been through so much.
They certainly have.
There's something
I need to ask you.
One of the girls mentioned
you were in possession
of Heather's purse
earlier tonight.
Chrissy. Is there a problem?
We found a bottle
of drugs in Heather's purse.
Can't be certain
till the coroner's report
comes back, but we suspect
it was laced with fentanyl.
I don't think I like
what you're insinuating.
I didn't look in her purse.
I only handed it to her.
I can assure you,
I know nothing of any drugs.
Now, if you will
excuse me,
my girls need me.
I have what I need for now.
I know where to find you
if I need anything else.
[girls arguing faintly]
[Alex] I don't want to keep
talking about this.
Heather just died
a few hours ago.
[Alex and Raye speaking
over each other]
-And you're--
-It's not real!
-Girls! Stop!
-Yes, it is!
Stop the fighting!
What is going on here?
Alex is upset
because Raye decided
to tell everyone at the party
our sorority is cursed.
Raye, how do you expect us
to get a decent pledge class
if our own members are spreading
wild rumors like that?
Talk to her. She's
the one who pulled the cards
suggesting more death to come.
No, I did not pull anything.
Well,
you knocked them out of my hand
and they spoke loud and clear.
Please, hand me the cards.
Raye.
I'm sure you won't mind
if I hold on to these
for a few days
until things settle down.
No. My grandmother
gave those cards to me.
They were the first deck
she ever owned.
Figures.
Let Layla keep them.
It would bring some peace
to the house.
Even if it's just
for a little while.
I'll keep them safe.
All right everybody, off to bed.
I will discuss this
with you tomorrow.
[gentle music]
[birds chirping]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[eerie music]
-[Brianna] Chrissy.
-[Chrissy gasps]
What the heck?
Sorry, but have you seen this?
You knew
people would be talking.
So you're just going
to ignore it?
Layla is going to freak.
Then don't tell her.
I'll see if I can get
the picture taken down.
That would help.
I'm sure a lot of people
have already seen it.
Are you girls fighting again?
I had no idea that this election
would cause
so much drama
between the two of you.
-We're fine.
-Yeah. We're fine.
Layla, you look great.
Thank you. [giggles]
Big meeting this morning.
And you two are exactly
who I wanted to talk to.
So, the president
of the university called me this
morning, and she suggested
that we hold a campus
wide candlelight vigil in honour
of Heather and Jennifer.
That's a great idea.
[Layla] It really is.
It's so important for us to come
together at times like this.
And the fact
that she would like it to be
campus wide is a true testament
to our members
and our contributions
to the student body.
Yeah, Chrissy and I can let
the members know.
There's more.
So, President Arnold asked that
the women of Mu Kappa Alpha
hand out the candles.
And I expect each of you
to take this seriously.
In all my years
working here at Chester,
I've never even spoken
to President Arnold,
much less been asked
to be in charge of something.
-We'll be happy to help.
-Oh, great.
I will tell her
that we won't let her down.
Wish me luck.
Is it
just me, or did that seem odd?
Definitely odd.
It's almost as if she's happy
about all this.
Well, you know there's
no explaining Layla.
Yeah, but that was over the top,
even for her.
It's like the attention
she's getting from President
Arnold is more important
than the sisters we lost.
Can we talk about this later?
I have to go.
Yeah, I guess.
I'll text you when I find out
what time we need to be there
to set up for the vigil.
Thanks. And do you think
that you can get that picture
taken down before class?
I'll be surprised
if anyone wants to Rush MKA
-this semester.
-Stop worrying.
I'll get the picture
taken down ASAP,
and I'll help Layla
set up until you can get there.
[soft music]
Hi, Jared.
Hey. I didn't
know if you'd be working today.
It's actually nice
getting out of the house.
It's starting to feel
small these days.
Thanks for the heads
up on our socials.
Chrissy was able to get that
picture taken down.
It's on the house.
Oh, thanks. Good.
How are you feeling?
Did you
get any sleep last night?
Not much.
Raye and Alex started arguing
again
once we got back to the house.
-About Raye's tarot cards?
-Yeah.
Layla
finally took them away, and Raye
didn't take that too well.
She carries them everywhere
for guidance and clarity.
I have to admit,
Raye even spooked me
with the more death reading.
I have to get back to work.
Sorry.
Want to meet me for lunch later?
I can't today.
I work again tomorrow.
But maybe you can bring me
some lunch on my break at noon?
Sounds good.
I wish you'd let me help
out more.
Bye.
Oh, gosh.
I hope we have enough candles.
Me too.
President Arnold sent an email
to all students and faculty,
so we're expecting
a really big turnout.
Gayle.
So nice to see you.
Chrissy, would you mind
giving us a minute?
No problem.
Is everything all right?
I'm just concerned
about the safety of the girls.
Oh, well, I can assure you
that their safety is
my number one priority.
Is it?
-Sorry.
-Don't worry. We're done.
President Arnold's assistant
just dropped these off.
Good. Real good.
All right.
-Why don't you,
-[car engine revs]
make some more room
for it right here.
-You can set them there.
-Okay.
[somber music]
[eerie music]
[Alex shrieks]
Raye.
This isn't funny, Raye.
It wasn't me.
But these are my cards.
Layla was supposed to have them.
Who did this?
You're the clairvoyant.
Why don't you tell us?
Oh. You're hilarious, Chrissy.
I have no idea.
But I would never disrespect
my cards like this.
I thought I heard something out
here.
What's going on?
Who did you give my cards to?
Nobody.
So you did this?
Of course not.
Are you sure those are yours?
-I'm positive.
-But they can't be.
I put yours in my dresser.
[dramatic music]
See? They're here in my dresser,
right where I left them.
This isn't all of them.
The three cards stuck
to the front door are missing.
And those are the same
three cards
that Alex pulled the other night
at the party.
Maybe it's a coincidence.
No. No, there's, there's no way.
Did one of you girls take them?
Don't look at me.
Those things are freaky.
Yeah,
I wouldn't mess with them.
Or, Raye, for that matter.
[dramatic music]
Who cleaned up the front door?
Not me.
The lipstick's gone.
That's a good thing, right?
We don't need any more
bad publicity.
I woke up this morning thinking
we should call the police
after everything
that's been happening.
Why?
So you can throw me
under the bus again?
Blame this on me, too?
Sounds like someone's
having some trouble
with their BFF.
She'll get over it.
And for the record, I didn't
throw her under the bus.
The police asked me a question,
and I answered it honestly.
I know you think
it was one of the sisters,
but they're not
the ones who had the cards.
Why? Do you think
Layla might have done something?
Good morning ladies.
I'm going to make
some breakfast.
Do either of you want anything?
I see Raye's
still upset about last night.
I think we're all still upset
about everything that's
been happening around here.
-Hey, Jared.
-Hey.
I got us burgers and fries.
I hope that's okay.
Sounds great.
I'm starving.
No tomatoes?
[Jared] Of course not.
You hate them.
How's everything?
How's everyone at the MKA house?
Honestly? Terrible.
We found this
on the front door of the house
last night
when we got back from the vigil.
That's crazy.
Mh-hm.
Any idea who did it?
We don't know.
But don't tell Raye
I took that picture.
This morning she said we should
have called the police.
Shouldn't you?
This might have been a warning
to shut her up.
Who knows?
I just want this all to be over.
Do you want me to try and
talk to Raye?
You're sweet. But,
I don't think that would help.
Well,
I'm hoping that you're still
planning to run for president.
Your sorority needs you.
Thank you.
I am.
I don't want to let them down.
[soft music]
You won't.
[suspenseful music]
Raye! Raye! Open up!
What's going on? You're going
to wake everyone up.
I'll show you.
These weren't here
when I left for my run.
Something's wrong.
I just know it.
-Raye wouldn't have done this.
-I know.
She was so upset when you
knocked them out of her hands.
I feel like
we need to find her.
Oh, sometimes
Raye goes to the quad
to do her morning meditations.
Yeah. Let's go.
-[dramatic music]
-[Raye screams]
[Layla] It's okay.
We're going to figure this out.
[gentle music]
Why are you looking at me
like that?
If I'm honest?
Seems like tragedy follows you.
What's that supposed to mean?
You tell me.
You argued with Jennifer,
Heather, and now Raye.
-All before they died.
-Chrissy!
[whispers] That is enough.
Did you push Raye?
No, I don't--
I was with Brianna
when we heard someone scream.
We weren't even near her.
Chrissy, you need to stop.
This is ridiculous. I expected
more out of the two of you.
Well talk to Chrissy.
She's
the one accusing me of murder.
That was low.
Why would you
say something like that?
I'll go tell the other sisters
about Raye.
Actually, I think it'd be best
if you let me handle it.
Would you like to help me
tell the other girls?
Me?
I think that your faith would be
comforting at a time like this.
Yeah, if you think it'll help.
Time to call a meeting.
[Layla] I know.
I can't believe
that we've lost somebody else.
I wanted to let you know that
we're in the process of hiring
additional campus security.
We will have
someone posted outside the house
24 hours a day.
I think that will make us all
feel better.
I assure you,
with the death of three women
living in the same house,
police are making this
investigation our top priority.
I'm very grateful for everything
that you're doing.
Please keep a close eye out
and let us know
if you see anything unusual.
I will.
Layla. Hi.
I just heard what happened.
-Can I help?
-No.
I'm sorry, Gayle,
I think that seeing you alone
might upset the girls further.
Why don't you go home
and lock your doors.
[door clicks]
[door shuts]
There you are.
Now's not a good time.
I just want to be alone.
Well, everyone is
about to meet in the common room
to talk about
what's been happening.
Why?
You girls need to do some
bonding, some rebuilding
and grab your pillow.
I'd like everyone
to stay together tonight.
I'm not sure Chrissy and I could
ever rebuild.
About that.
Several of the members
have come to me
and asked that Alex
be our president.
At least temporarily,
through Rush.
I think that's a great idea.
Really? You mean that?
Yeah.
I think you're exactly
what we need right now.
I'm so relieved.
Chrissy wasn't exactly receptive
to the idea.
Don't worry about Chrissy.
She'll come around.
I'm not so sure about that.
So, you'll join us?
Yeah.
Great.
I think this is a
really good idea.
Brianna.
I'm really glad you're here.
I don't know what to do.
Layla wants me
to start this discussion.
The members are scared.
Just tell them
everything is going to be okay.
It's such a waste.
She doesn't even want to be
president.
So, first of all,
I just wanted to thank everyone
for agreeing to this.
I know we're all scared, but
I'm hoping tonight
will bring us closer together.
I mean, we're sisters, right?
You need to be there for each
other at times like this.
So, I was thinking
that we could open up the floor
to anybody who wanted to share
how they're feeling.
This is a safe space.
And as you can see,
it's set up in here
so we can all spend
the night together.
I think
we'll all feel safer that way.
Brianna, could you please start?
[soft music]
I love being an MKA.
You are all the sisters
I've always wanted.
I'm scared.
What if something happens
to another one of us?
To keep the MKA
as the best sorority on campus,
we need to recruit the best
pledge class this year.
[dramatic music]
[door squeals]
-[dramatic music continues]
-[Layla shrieks]
Help!
[Layla's screaming muffled]
Layla?
Layla.
Layla, I'm sorry,
I don't mean to wake you--
[Alex screams]
Hey, brother.
[door clicks]
Alex?
[door slams]
What's going on?
I need everyone to stay right
here.
We'll send someone out to
explain things as
soon as we can.
Chrissy. Detective
Blair says to stay right here.
I'm still in the room.
Does anybody know
what's going on?
I was asleep until I heard
the banging on the door.
I think we all were.
Except Alex.
She knows what's going on.
Alex is
giving her statement right now,
so I would ask for everyone
to be patient.
However,
if anyone heard anything
unusual last night,
we'd like to speak to you now.
Give it some thought.
We are interested
in hearing about anything
out of the ordinary
that happened last night.
-Yes?
-Is Layla okay?
No, I'm afraid she's not.
All I can tell you
is that we believe Miss
Anderson was murdered sometime
in the middle of the night.
How could this have happened?
We were all together.
I mean, somebody would have
heard something.
That's what
we are investigating now.
This house is now an active
crime scene.
No one is allowed to leave
until we speak to everyone.
Do we have to stay
in this room?
No. You can move around the
house, but there are some rules.
No one goes
inside Miss Anderson's room.
No one goes outside.
No one leaves the house
for any reason.
We will have
officers posted by every door.
For your safety.
What about classes?
We're going to contact
the university here shortly
to explain the situation.
You will all be excused
from classes today.
For now,
I need you all to be patient.
What are we supposed to do now?
I think we would all feel better
if we take our stuff
back to our rooms
and get this room cleaned up.
Chrissy's right.
Everybody grab your stuff.
Did you just tell everyone
you thought I was right?
I'm just trying to get through
this.
Don't let it get to your head.
So, what happened?
I don't know.
I woke up early,
and I thought
I heard someone scream, so.
I went to check on Layla.
That's when I found her.
I'm so sorry.
That must have been awful.
Yeah.
I just don't understand how
this could have happened with
all of us sleeping out there.
Are you sure?
Was everyone asleep
when you came back to the room?
[curious music]
My gosh.
You think it could have been
one of our members?
Police
are currently investigating yet
another death here at the Mu
Kappa
Alpha House
at Chester University.
This time, we have learned
it is not a student.
Police suspect
foul play was involved.
Stay tuned to Channel
5 for your up to the minute
reporting on this tragic news
at Chester University.
This has been Cynthia Lawson
reporting to you live
from the Mu Kappa Alpha House.
This has to be
related to Jennifer's death.
What are you doing?
I want to lay out
where all the sisters were
when each of
the deaths happened.
I don't think this is all
a coincidence.
Will you ask all the others to
check in with me by
the end of the day?
Yeah, but
you really think
it might have been one of us?
I'm hoping this proves
it's not one of us.
[dramatic music]
But I can't just sit around
while the police investigate.
Someone else could be dead
before they find the killer.
We have house lock down.
Layla, MKA, not alone.
Yeah, we got it.
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[phone chimes]
[dramatic music continues]
Your diagram
makes it look like I was alone.
Jared was with me
when I found Heather.
I didn't think of it like that.
I was only doing this
for the members.
But, yeah, I'll add him.
Yeah.
He's the
one who got the door unlocked
and found her.
[Brianna] This place
feels like prison.
Have you heard back from Jared?
Can his dad
help us get out of here?
He's working on it.
Hopefully we'll hear something
in the morning.
I feel like I'm missing
something.
I mean, you've been at it
for hours.
You're right.
Maybe if I take a break
and look at it with fresh eyes
I'll see something.
Do you think we're safe?
Detective Blair said there are
are cops at all the doors.
But I'm sleeping with one eye
open, just in case.
[phone vibrating]
[phone vibrating]
[phone vibrating]
Hello?
[Jared] What are you doing?
-Sleeping.
-[Jared] Well, wake up.
I've got good news.
Your dad's gonna help us?
[Jared] He's meeting with the
Chief of Police as we speak.
They can't keep holding all of
you there without evidence.
Thank you.
Everyone's
so scared and keeping us
locked in here is just making
everything worse.
[Jared] Any leads on
who killed Layla?
The police didn't
tell us anything last night.
[door knocking]
Come in.
[door clicks]
Detective Blair wants everyone
in the common room
in 15 minutes.
Did you hear that?
I have to go.
[Jared] Okay. Let me know
what happens.
I will. Thanks.
First, I want to thank everyone
for your cooperation yesterday.
We've had the chance
to speak to each of you.
Now we're going to close down
the MKA house
to complete the investigation.
So we need each of you
to get everything you need for
the next few days.
If you don't have family
or friends
you want to stay with,
the university
will provide on-campus housing.
My family's out of state and all
my friends are in this house.
Mine too.
Looks like on-campus
housing for us.
We have all your cell phones
here, so we will keep
you updated on when you will be
allowed back in the house.
Thank you again.
You're free to go.
[dramatic music]
[camera shutters]
Girls. Girls,
do you have any information on
what's been happening today
inside the house?
What did they say to you
before you left?
Did you know anything
that was happening earlier?
Girls,
do you have any information?
Just one minute of your time.
Girls,
do you have anything to say?
[trunk slams]
[Brianna] I appreciate you
offering to let us stay here.
Yeah. I wasn't excited about
going to on-campus housing.
[Gayle] It's my pleasure.
[ominous music]
[door clicks]
-[door shuts]
-You two are welcome
to stay here
as long as you need.
That's so nice.
But I just realized
we don't have our cars.
And you live too far from campus
for us to walk.
Don't worry about that.
You can use Jennifer's car
while you're here.
Her keys
are just in the kitchen.
I know my house is small, but
it's all we could afford after
Jennifer's father passed away.
Thankfully, Jennifer's job
at the library really helped
cover a lot of her expenses.
And I'm rambling.
You two must be exhausted.
I'll show you to your room.
[door clicks]
You two can share
the guest room.
That's Jennifer's room.
-I'm just not ready--
-We're happy to share.
Right Chrissy?
Um, yeah, sharing is great.
It's perfect,
Mrs. Stapleton.
-Call me Gayle.
-Thank you. Gayle.
It's gonna be really nice
having the two of you there.
I'm regretting
not staying on campus.
Sleeping across the hall
from Jennifer's room,
gives me the creeps.
Yeah,
I didn't think about that when
Gayle offered us to stay here.
It's got to be better than
on-campus housing.
Maybe.
Brianna,
there's someone here to see you.
Who knows we're here?
It's got to be Jared.
I texted him on the way over.
You invite him over?
No, I'm sorry.
Well, he's waiting for you.
Hope this isn't like,
a date thing.
Because I'm coming with you.
I'm not staying here alone.
You know what I mean?
I understand.
And it's not a date.
Everyone knows
Jared and I are just friends.
Yeah, I heard that before.
[Jared] So how are you two?
[Brianna] Honestly,
we're a little freaked out.
The police
haven't said anything.
All we know is that there's
a murderer on the loose.
Well, at least
you still have a safe place
to stay here
with Mrs. Stapleton.
Yeah, I hope so.
I'm here for you as well.
Always.
Well,
I should probably get going.
Do you guys you mind if
I use the restroom real quick?
Sure. It's just
across the living room.
Okay.
He is so cute.
He's definitely into you.
Yeah, like a big brother's
into his little sister.
What a waste.
I swear, you're the only
person who doesn't see it.
Oh, shoot.
I left my phone.
Did you by chance
leave it in the bathroom?
Chrissy.
Your loss.
[door creaks]
[door clicks]
[eerie music]
Ladies, I think I'm gonna take a
bath and head to bed early.
You should.
-Thanks for dinner.
-And for letting us stay here.
Of course.
Oh, please, let us clean up.
Yeah,
it's the least we could do.
Thank you.
Have a good night.
[door shuts]
Can I ask you something?
It's probably nothing.
Sure. What is it?
Can you think of
any reason Jared would have gone
into Jennifer's room today?
Jared went into Jen's room?
Maybe he went in
there by mistake.
Thought it was the bathroom.
No, he was inside her room
with the door closed.
I don't think it was a mistake.
Jared and Jen were friends.
Maybe
he just was saying goodbye.
Maybe.
But I think I may want to go
take a look for myself.
Maybe I can learn something
about the secret
Jen told Heather.
I mean, she said
it had something to do with me,
and I feel like
I should know what it is.
Are you saying
you want to go into Jen's room?
You do realize that
the only two people
that know that secret are dead?
Maybe you don't want to know.
Four people have died.
And it started with Jennifer.
What if we're all missing
something?
I'll just go take a quick
look once Gayle is asleep.
Okay.
Let me know what you find
because I'm not going in there.
No way.
Okay.
[Chrissy] Please stop
pacing and go already.
I'm sure she's asleep.
Okay.
You're right.
[door clicks]
[suspenseful music]
What are you doing?
I didn't like being alone.
So you decided to come in here
and scare me instead?
I came
to help. What are you doing?
Why would Jennifer
hide her computer?
Let's see if we can find out.
[curious music]
Fingers crossed.
How do you know her password?
Jen lent me her iPad last month
for a project.
Most people use the same
password for all their devices.
What is SlutNTie?
I've never heard of it.
"I haven't seen any new videos."
"Don't make me cancel
my subscription."
Subscription?
"When are you dropping
this week's video? Can't wait!"
What are they talking about?
Oh my gosh.
I think SlutNTie
is a fetish video site.
Jennifer must have been
a content writer.
No, that can't be.
It's got to be a mistake.
A scam or something.
[keyboard clacking]
Okay, we shouldn't be looking
at this.
It's too late now.
Besides, you're the one
who wanted to come in
here in the first place.
What were you up to Jen?
You definitely
weren't a librarian.
Brianna.
Come look at this.
I've seen enough.
No, you have to see this.
Jennifer's site was attached
to her cloud storage.
A video was uploaded on the day
she died,
but it wasn't published.
I think we should watch it.
I don't think that's
a smart idea.
Brianna. Come on.
There.
Now say something.
[distorted] Testing.
See?
You have nothing to worry about.
No one will have any idea
who you are.
I really appreciate
you doing this for me.
I didn't want to tell you
about it.
But you've
been so understanding.
Not everyone has a secret
boyfriend
who would do this sort of thing.
[distorted] You know I'm not
happy about this.
I know, but it's a lot of money.
And don't forget,
you get me and half the money.
[distorted] Is your mom
okay with all of this?
She thinks I'm at the library.
I have a studio set up
in a storage unit
where I shoot all my videos.
I've never done anything here
before, but a subscriber
wanted a home invasion
video of me as a cheerleader,
and I couldn't
pull that off there.
Plus, I need a sexy attacker
to break in.
So here we are.
Let's do this.
Before my mom gets home.
And remember, for what he's
paying, it's got to look
believable.
[distorted] Remember
on our first date
when I asked you how many guys
you've been with before?
Me is it three?
Of course.
[distorted] You didn't mention
you have 500 subscribers
paying you to
take your clothes off.
I believe that counts
as a 503 body count.
You know
subscribers don't count.
I don't
actually do anything with them.
Now come on,
you're in my shot.
Go get the yearbook.
[dramatic music]
[suspenseful music]
[Jennifer choking]
[dramatic music]
He, he killed her.
-Who was that?
-I don't know.
Jen said it was her
secret boyfriend.
I'm sending this to
Detective Blair.
-You carry his card around?
-Yeah.
With everyone dropping dead
like this, I keep it close.
I know where
her storage unit is.
I've been there.
-You've been to her studio?
-Yeah.
Did you know
she was making these videos?
Of course not.
I was in the car with her
when she dropped a box off.
My God, now it makes sense.
It was heavy, and she didn't
want me to help her.
It's right by campus.
That's it.
I'm calling Detective Blair.
[phone dialling]
It's late.
What did you expect?
I think we should go
and take a look for ourselves.
No. I think we should wait
until morning.
Are you
going to be able to sleep?
That's what I thought.
Come on.
[keys jingle]
[eerie music]
Lock yourself in the car
and stay down.
I'll be right back.
[door shuts]
[eerie music]
Detective Blair?
Are you okay?
Did you get the text
that Chrissy sent you?
Then how did you know
to come here?
I followed...
No, Detective Blair,
followed who?
[door rumbles]
Followed me.
Why would you put my name down
on the board, Brianna?
I was just...
listing everyone's alibis.
When Detective
Blair saw my name,
he did some digging
and realized that
my alibis didn't hold up.
You pointed him right at me.
It was you.
In that video, you,
you killed Jennifer.
And Detective Blair--
Did you know I was Jennifer's
little secret?
No, not until tonight.
Is that why you were in
her room tonight?
Yeah. I needed to find this unit
to be sure that it wouldn't
lead anyone back to me.
The first time
I went into Jennifer's house,
her mom came home
and interrupted my search.
You were the one who broke in?
Why?
At first, I was just
trying to protect myself.
But then everyone started
blaming you.
And that was even worse.
I had to protect you too.
Are you talking about Heather?
Jennifer told her
that we were dating.
I don't know why
she trusted her.
And then when I overheard
the two of you talking,
I knew she was close to telling
you our secret.
Technically,
it was an accidental overdose.
I thought if she was caught
with drugs,
then she would get kicked
out of the sorority.
I didn't know
the drugs were tainted.
The thing is,
once you've killed once,
it just gets easier and easier.
Like with Raye?
Did you kill her, too?
It's
nice of you to join us, Chrissy.
Well, since you've asked.
Raye started
pointing fingers at Brianna,
and then she started telling
everyone, including the police,
that Brianna was fighting with
Heather the night Heather died.
All I've done
is try to protect you.
And you didn't
even have the decency to tell me
that Chrissy was here with you.
You want to play games, Jared?
Let's play.
Oh, Chrissy.
[dramatic music]
[Jared] There's nowhere
for you to go.
Chrissy. Behind you.
[door rumbles]
[door slams]
[door rumbles]
-Game over.
-[Brianna] My thoughts exactly.
[body thuds]
Help me.
I already called the cops.
[door rumbles]
I was lonely, Brianna.
Then why did you date Jennifer?
I don't understand.
You admired her.
I figured, when she told you
what a good boyfriend,
I was, you'd see me differently.
But that all changed when
she got me into her sick world
of fetish videos.
We could have been great
together, Brianna.
[sirens blare]
[sirens blare]
[door shuts]
[handcuffs rattle]
[dramatic music]
[all laughing]
-Can you grab the plates?
-I've got them right here.
Oh, perfect.
I think we're ready.
Thanks so much for stepping in
to be our new house mom.
Of course.
When Chrissy told me
the university was considering
shutting your chapter down,
I knew I needed to help.
This place
meant the world to Jennifer.
Just like it does all of you.
All the potential new members
should be here any minute.
You're right. Let's give them
all a grand MKA welcome.
I'm so glad the two of
you decided to be co-presidents.
I'm better suited as chaplain.
[all laughing]
Jennifer would be proud of
both of you.
[doorbell rings]
Looks like Rush is officially
about to start. Come on.
It's gonna be a good day
[upbeat music]
It's gonna be a good day
It's gonna be a
damn good day
It's gonna be a
damn good day
Yeah, here's to a
damn good day
[upbeat music continues]
It's gonna be a good day
It's gonna be a good day
[dramatic music]
[dramatic music continues]
[dramatic music continues]
[dramatic music continues]
