[BRIDESMAID] I know, I know.
Oh, my God. I know. So pretty.
- I just feel like I can't breathe.
- Okay.
- All right, well
- A little bit.
maybe just take small
breaths. Just like In and out.
Dress is compressing
my diaphragm, you guys.
- It's like somebody stole my oxygen.
- [BRIDESMAID] Just breathe. Small breaths.
[CLASSICAL MUSIC PLAYING]
Okay. Okay, Amber, you are
perfect, and it is three o'clock.
I need a Valium.
[BRIDESMAIDS LAUGHING]
Actually, I need my brother.
- Oh, okay. R Really?
- We can do that.
Yeah, I just need a second
Need a minute with my brother.
- [BRIDESMAID] Yeah, let's do it.
- We'll be right there.
- [BRIDESMAID] Let's go, girls.
- Thank you.
- All good?
- Yeah. I mean
- They're always late.
- [CHUCKLES]
[CLASSICAL MUSIC PLAYING]
[WHISPERING INDISTINCTLY]
Give me a minute. All good.
- Everything all right?
- Yeah.
[EXHALES DEEPLY]
[SIGHS]
[SIBLING] Wow.
Thanks.
Whoo!
I just need you to tell me
this is real. It's gonna last.
Well, nothing lasts forever,
and he is your first husband.
[CHUCKLES] That's a good point. Yeah.
But it's real. It's
love. It's happiness.
[INHALES DEEPLY] That's
it, Bug. You did it.
I know.
But, like, I'm not
missing something, right?
Yeah, we're different. Our values
Prince doesn't like family. He
only sees his dad once a year.
He hasn't talked to
his mother in forever.
Amber, baby
I'm not worried for you two.
I mean, he's good to you, no?
Prince is a guy who's used
to getting what he wants.
You've got spine.
It's gonna be a real marriage of equals.
You know how much I love you, right?
Nothing's gonna change here.
It's always been you and me.
- Yeah.
- Yeah. [CHUCKLES]
And Mom.
Okay. If I throw you over my
shoulder, this dress will wrinkle.
- Okay. [CHUCKLES]
- Okay?
- Let's go.
- [SIGHS]
Oh. [CHUCKLES]
Whew. [BREATHES SHAKILY]
Wait.
What?
One thing's different.
He's not just another guy in your unit.
You need to bring him back to me.
He comes home.
Yes or no?
I hear you, Bug.
- Okay.
- Okay.
["BRIDAL CHORUS" PLAYING]
- [ORCHESTRAL SONG PLAYING]
- [CHAMPAGNE CORK POPPING]
What can I tell you, son?
Happy wife, happy life.
- Isn't that right?
- Mm-hmm.
- Congratulations, bud. Great ceremony.
- Hey. Thanks, man.
Well, that's pretty
rich coming from you.
Well, after three tries,
trust me, I'm an expert.
- [PRINCE] Yeah.
- Yeah. [LAUGHS]
Yeah, man. Welcome to the family.
I know I'm not your father,
but I would like the honor
of stepping in for him today
and having this dance.
- Would that be possible?
- Yes.
- I'll be back, hon.
- [WIFE] Excellent.
[CHUCKLES]
Anything you need today,
- I'm your man, okay?
- Thank you.
[ORCHESTRAL SONG ENDS]

- [VEHICLE ALARM CHIRPS]
[VALET] Hey, John, I need
the keys to number two.
[JOHN] Yeah, we got that
up here for him already.
What's going on, Mom?
Fresh air. Taking it all in.
Enjoying the party?
[CHUCKLES] Not my people. They
don't want me to participate.
Maybe for your daughter's sake,
fake it as a normal person.
Lay off the drugs.
Or maybe you have a drink.
Might improve your personality.
Now get back in there and do your
job. Take care of your sister.
You're probably boiling up inside.
She married your rich friend.
You still got a job to do.
You make sure he doesn't start
treating her like a piece of property.
[COUNTRY SONG PLAYING]
Is it, uh, too soon
to talk about a baby?
- It probably is, right? Yeah, maybe
- Maybe wait till after the wedding?
Or maybe we should Yeah,
we can wait till tomorrow.
I mean, I-I'm kidding.
I mean, I'm not
- He's a deliberate man.
- Yeah.
He likes to think it through.
But the clock is ticking
on the Senate run too.
There's nothing more irresistible
than a war hero with a young family.
I don't want the window to
close on that opportunity.
- Does this remind you of our wedding?
- Nope. A lot of important people here.
- [FRIEND] You're pretty important too.
- Yeah?
You're their leader. All
your boys are growing up.
[COUNTRY SONG CONTINUING]
Son, cut in.
Can I get some water, please?
- Brother-in-law, right?
- [CHUCKLES] I am now.
Yeah, Roy Leonard.
Alex Chesborough. Call me "Bambi."
- Bambi?
- That's right.
[CHUCKLES]
Prince tells me you're,
uh, ex-New Zealand group?
Yeah, yeah. Oh, that was
back in the day, mate.
You know the story. We ate,
uh, snakes in the jungle.
Ah, yeah. Heard that one. It
tastes like chicken, right?
[CHUCKLING]

[ROCK SONG PLAYING]
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
It's an important step in a man's life
when you take a wife and
start a family. Right?
Nurturing others, not just yourself.
That's the true mark of manhood.
- Yeah. Cheers to that.
- [FRIEND] Huh? But remember,
this is the only family you can
call at two o'clock in the morning,
say, "I'm fucked up, I crashed the car,
and there's a body in the trunk."
And we're not gonna ask why. We're
gonna say, "What do you need?"
Unless you split with my sister.
- Nah, then we'll just shoot you.
- [ALL CHUCKLE]
[SOLDIER] A couple times. [CHUCKLES]
Well, to murder.
- Murder.
- Murder.
[GLASSES CLINKING]
[ROCK SONG CONTINUING]
[ALL CHEERING, LAUGHING]

see you in the morning.
Love you, brother.
[SIGHS]
[ROCK SONG CONTINUING]
[ROCK SONG ENDS]
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
Listen up. [CLEARS THROAT]
We gotta be wheels up in eight hours.
We're gonna grab a couple
of our own. No more boozing.
- Yes, sir.
- [SOLDIER 1] Copy.
[SOLDIER 2] Let's roll.
[AMBER MOANING]
[PRINCE, AMBER MOANING]
Hey, now you are my North Star.
- Like a navigation point?
- [CHUCKLES]
- Like a GPS?
- [CHUCKLES] No.
- A nice human computer bringing you home.
- No. No. Like the sun. Like the moon.
You're the whole universe.
I love you.
I love you.
- Babe?
- Hmm?
We have a flyaway
tomorrow.
Tomorrow? [SCOFFS]
- [PRINCE] Yeah.
- It's already tomorrow.
I'm so sorry. Hostage rescue.
I'm so sorry.
[AMBER EXHALES SHARPLY]
[PRINCE SIGHS]
I have to be on base at 0800.
Mmm.
They let me have the night.
Well [CHUCKLES]
gives us six hours.
[AMBER LAUGHING]
[PRINCE CHUCKLES]
- [COPILOT] Systems are good.
- [PILOT SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY] good.
[COMMAND] Copy. LZ is three minutes out.
[PILOT SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[COMMAND] If it gets much
worse then we have to abort.
- [PILOT] Copy.
- [COPILOT] Starting our approach.
[COMMAND SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
[CAPTOR 1 BREATHES SHARPLY]
[COPILOT] ISR has the LZ.
[COMMAND] Copy. LZ is clear.
- [PILOT] One minute out.
- [COPILOT] One minute!
- One minute.
- One minute.
[ALL] One minute.
[COPILOT] Starting our approach.
We're approaching the LZ.
[COMMANDER] Roger. You should
have ISR coverage in 30 seconds.
- [COPILOT] Have eyes on in 30 seconds.
- [DRIFTER] Thirty seconds!
[ALL] Thirty seconds!
[COPILOT] Three, two, one. Doors open.
Doors open.
Anything?
Visibility is degrading.
[COPILOT] Lay low.
[DRIFTER] Ropes, ropes, ropes.
[COPILOT] Copy. Ropes
coming out on the left side.
- First rope is going out.
- [DRIFTER] Copy.
[DRIFTER] Prince, wait.
This isn't right. Something's wrong.
The drone is over the wrong
mountain. This LZ is not clear.
Get that fucking drone
over the right mountain.
[DRONE PILOT] Yes, sir. Moving in now.
- [COPILOT] Moving down.
- [COMMAND] There's movement on the ground.
[CAPTORS CLAMORING]
[PILOT] Taking fire! We're taking fire!
- [SOLDIERS SHOUTING]
- [COPILOT] Ridgeline. Ridgeline!
Prince is on the rope!
Prince is on the rope!
[COPILOT] Okay, we still
have an operator on the rope.
He's off. He's off.
[GRUNTS, GROANS]
[DRIFTER] Prince, are you all right?
[BREATHES HEAVILY] I'm good.
- [PILOT] Abort! Abort!
- [SOLDIER] We've got a man down there!
[PILOT] The bird's damaged. We've
gotta go back to base and transload.
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
Then put me down right here!
[PILOT] You're 1,000 feet of elevation
and half a klick from the target.
[COPILOT] The snow looks pretty soft.
[SOLDIER] Roger that.
[SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[COPILOT] Troops are
clear. Troops are clear.
[DRIFTER] Copy that. Let's go.
What's the plan? Do you have me?
[DRIFTER] We're being
reinserted half a klick away,
and we're climbing back up.
[PRINCE] Roger.
[DRIFTER] Good thing we left
our snowshoes on the bird.
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
[CAPTORS SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
The hostages are coming down to you.
[DRIFTER] They're coming down to us.
Might have to choose between getting
the hostages and going for Prince.
That's easy. We get our guy.
No, mission first.
Prince will have to wait.
Let's set up right here.
They'll walk right to us.
[DRIFTER] Prince, you good?
I'm good, but not for much longer.
[PANTING, GRUNTING]
This is bullshit. We're
sitting here, playing commando,
while Prince is up there by himself.
[GUNSHOTS]
[PRINCE GRUNTS]
- [DRIFTER] Prince?
- [PRINCE] I'm good. I'm good.
Hang tight.
[HOSTAGES SOBBING, BREATHING HEAVILY]
[MUFFLED GUNSHOTS]
Journalists! Don't shoot! [GASPING]
Don't shoot! Journalists!
- US rescue force!
- USA! We're rescue force. You're safe.
Command, package secure.
Roger. Gunship had to pull
off because of daylight.
Stand by for QRF inbound.
[DRIFTER] Get 'em down to the bird.
[COMMAND] We also have
movement coming up the mountain.
- Drifter, I gotta get Prince.
- Okay.
[DRIFTER] We're going for Prince.
Drifter, we cannot get any
fixed-wing support in there right now.
[DRIFTER] Prince is alone up there.
On me.
[GRUNTING, PANTING]
[DRIFTER] I got eyes on our guy.
Prince, we have a
visual on you, brother.
[CAPTORS SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[PANTING]
Guys, we've got a bunker up
there with a heavy machine gun.
I'm not going to be able to get to you.
You've gotta clear that first.
[DRIFTER] Triple, we gotta
leave our own base and fire
so we can get him across.
- We've gotta flank 'em.
- Copy that.
- Bambi, you cover our movements.
- [BAMBI] Copy that.
- [DRIFTER] Stay there, Prince.
- [PRINCE] Roger.
[GUNSHOTS FIRING]
[GUNFIRE CONTINUES]
[BAMBI] Drifter, you're clear.
[GUNSHOTS FIRING]
[BREATHING HEAVILY]
Bunker's cleared.
[PRINCE] Roger. Moving across.
[DRIFTER] Bambi, I'm
coming back down to you.
[GUNSHOT]
[GRUNTS]
- Drifter!
- [SPEAKS FOREIGN LANGUAGE]
[BAMBI] We got another fighter up there.
Drifter is down.
- [PRINCE] Bambi, go to him. Go to him!
- [BAMBI] I'm moving!
[GUNSHOT]
- [GUNSHOT]
- [PRINCE GRUNTS] I'm hit!
[GRUNTS, GROANS] Oh, fuck.
[BAMBI] You okay?
[PRINCE] I'm good,
I'm good. Help Drifter.
- Prince is hit.
- Fuck!
Foot patrol leaving the target area.
Six or seven fighters
going down to the tree line.
[COMMAND] You gotta move.
You don't have much time.
- Drifter!
- [BREATHING HEAVILY]
[BAMBI] You okay?
Just key in the comms, "I'm here."
Just move your head. Move your foot.
- [GROANS]
- [PANTING]
[SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[TRIPLE] Bambi, this is Triple.
I can't get back to you, brother.
I'm stuck. I'm at least ten minutes out.
[COMMAND] You've got fighters closing in
on Prince's position. Thirty seconds.
[BAMBI] Just move
your foot or your head.
Just key in the comms, "I'm here."
[COMMAND] Taliban on you in 20 seconds.
[GRUNTING]
[BAMBI] Triple, get back to the
bird. I got Prince. I'm headed down.
[DRIFTER BREATHING SHARPLY]
[PRINCE GRUNTING]
Drifter is dead. We gotta go down.
- Are you sure?
- Drifter is dead. We gotta go.
[PRINCE] Fuck! Are you sure?
[PRINCE WHISPERING] You feel so good.
[AMBER WHISPERING] So do you.
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
Hey.
What's wrong?
Is it Drifter?
Why don't you talk to Bambi about it?
Hey, can I ask you
something about the mission?
I'm trying to piece it together,
but he's not talking to me about it.
He got jammed up, but I was
already over the X by that time.
I was doing my thing. He was doing his.
I didn't really see Prince
on the op once it started.
[AMBER] Yeah. Okay.
Thank you.
Thank you both for having dinner
with me. It means a lot to me.
- Of course.
- We're here for each other. Right?
That's right.
- [SERVER] How are we this evening?
- Three specials,
and get us a bottle of your
most outrageous cabernet, please.
And some water for this guy.
[BAMBI CHUCKLES] Turned your back
on him and your meal was gone.
- [LAUGHS] Really? That's funny.
- [CHUCKLES] Oh, yeah. Every time. Yeah.
[BAMBI] Took Drifter's boys
to hockey practice today.
First time they'd been back on the ice.
- Jason got into a thing with the coach
- [AMBER] Ah.
but he handled it well.
They're They're solid boys.
They're so strong.
Yeah. Well, they had their
dad for ten, 12 years.
I don't understand. You think it's okay
for a ten-year-old
to not have his dad?
[BAMBI] No.
I'm saying they got a lot of
substance from their father already
that'll help 'em.
What What the f
People surviving hardship,
Prince. It's pretty common.
Right. I guess you're the best example.
[BAMBI] Well, I'm just a hard dog.
[SNICKERS]
What are we gonna do, bub?
Maybe you made a mistake.
Maybe.
You did.
Maybe not.
Maybe on the next op, I get
smoked for something you do.
- [BAMBI] You're running loops.
- Don't put this on me.
- [BAMBI] You're "hypotheticalizing"
- I'm not the problem.
and it doesn't work. You hear me?
And it's gonna get you
jammed up next time we're out.
[PRINCE SIGHS]
- I'm sorry.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
I'm sorry too. But he needs to own
this, otherwise we can't move on.
Accountability is a bitch, man.
[BAMBI] God.
Denial is gonna tear you
up. It's gonna fuck you up.
Is that right?
Drifter is dead. Your friend is dead.
- Do we have to make it about this?
- [PRINCE] Grieving widow.
There's two kids.
We just need to agree on this,
man, and come clean about it.
I'm gonna go.
I'm sorry.
[AMBER SIGHS]
You watch your six down there if I
don't see you before you go, okay?
Okay.
[JAZZ MUSIC PLAYING]
[DOOR CLOSES]
[PRINCE] I'm sorry I was hard on him.
I was just trying to tell the truth.
[AMBER] I don't
understand you sometimes.
[PRINCE] He would do
exactly the same to me
if he thought I'd screwed up.
No, he wouldn't.
He didn't have to leave him behind.
[BREATHES SHAKILY]
Well, maybe it's a good
thing you're getting out now.
What's that supposed to mean?
Maybe it's not what you're meant to do.
- I don't know, jump to politics.
- What?
Whatever it is, you're taking
out your frustrations on Bambi.
You were there too. You
didn't save Drifter. Hmm.
This whole thing falls apart if
we can't be honest with each other.
And you're sure this isn't about
competition between you guys?
- Is that what you really think of me?
- Just asking.
That's a gross question.
I'm in pain too, but
instead of thinking of that,
all you can do is revert
to your redneck loyalty.
Okay, I'm sorry, I know
that's a shitty thing to say,
but you always take your brother's
side, no matter how horrible.
Why did you even marry me if
we're not gonna be a family?
[BREATHING HEAVILY]
[PRINCE BREATHES DEEPLY]
- I shouldn't have said that.
- Admit it.
- I was way out of
- You like it.
You like my redneck fucking loyalty.
[PRINCE CHUCKLES]
- That's true.
- [AMBER CHUCKLES]
[AMBER MOANING]
[AMBER SIGHS]
What is this doing here?
It's a beacon. It's to keep you safe.
Come on. It's the same as we
carry. It's military grade.
No, thanks.
- You're going to Colombia.
- Right. I've been all around the world.
Your phone isn't gonna
work in the jungle.
- This is just basic safety.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
[PRINCE] Now you think
I'm being controlling?
This is protection against
an emergency. Come on.
- I'm concerned is all.
- [AMBER] Yeah, well,
you promised me when we got
married you wouldn't do this shit.
All right, so what if
something happens to you?
What is this? What are you doing?
- You're going out for a run now?
- [AMBER] Yeah.
[PRINCE] Isn't that a little dangerous?
[SCOFFS] T-Take the dog at least.
[AMBER] I need time alone.
[DOG BARKING IN DISTANCE]
[BAR PATRONS CHATTERING]
[DEVICE BEEPS]
[SIREN BLARING IN DISTANCE]
[HORNS HONKING IN DISTANCE]
[BIRDS CHIRPING]
[CHUCKLES]
We're fine, right?
Yeah.
Hey. Hey.
Should I stay and take care of you guys?
No, come on. We're big boys.
Relax. Everything's fine. Come on.
[AUDIENCE CHEERING, APPLAUDING]
- Good morning, y'all. [CHUCKLES]
- [AUDIENCE] Morning.
How is everybody today?
- [AUDIENCE] Yeah. Good.
- Good.
Has anyone taken drugs today?
Come on. What about, um,
coffee? 'Cause caffeine counts.
Uh, nicotine?
How about a little
spoonful of sugar? It is.
Sugar affects the brain in the
same way as substances of abuse.
You see, the truth is we
all take drugs every day,
but I am here to talk
about the heavy hitters.
Here's a number for you.
Twenty-three million.
That's the number of Americans
who struggle with drug addiction.
We're a nation in pain.
And this is very personal for me,
because my mother is a drug addict.
And it's frustrating,
because the cure for addiction
is right in front of our faces,
but the scientific community,
we don't want to admit
that there's a cure.
And we don't want to admit it
because then we would be admitting
that these guys were right.
You see, neuroscience tells us
that addiction is a problem of
the brain not being able to change
once it is hooked onto a substance,
yet we have decades of
research that tell us
psychedelics are the most powerful
mind-altering compounds on this planet.
Now, I am not suggesting we all
drop acid, and we're cured. No.
You need to be in a therapeutic
setting, and you need to be guided.
Fortunately, there are people
that exist on this planet
who know how to use
psychedelics therapeutically.
We call them "shamans."
He must be doing something right,
because addiction is essentially
unknown in his community.
In fact, it does not exist.
[SCIENTIST] Hmm. Touch
of ginger, bit of soy.
Yeah, that's magic. You are a magician.
- [AMBER] Nah, I'm just one of the elves.
- [SCIENTIST CHUCKLES]
- That's good. We're done.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
[SCIENTIST] Bye-bye.
[AMBER] Okay, Arthur, lay it on me.
It's our last day in the lab.
I am wide open for advice.
Ooh, we're gonna have
one of those moments
where the the mentor encourages
his star student to
believe in her vision.
I believe.
It's everybody else who thinks I'm
crazy for going to South America
to study plants and rituals all to
find, you know, cures for addiction.
Yeah, well, we talked
about frontier science.
You're gonna get a lot of
skepticism and ridicule,
but I can see the future,
and in it, you help.
With your grasp of alkaloids, you
could be the next Timothy Leary.
I do like to do good,
but maybe that's vanity.
- No.
- Hmm.
It's who you are.
[BIRDS SINGING]
[BLADE SLICING THROUGH UNDERBRUSH]
[SCIENTIST 1] I read your
study before you came.
We all did.
"Not all frontiers are in outer space.
Alkaloids are the last great black
holes. They must be explored."
Thanks.
- [SCIENTIST 2] Hey, Amber.
- [AMBER] Yeah?
[SCIENTIST 2] We got enough.
[AMBER] No, no, keep going.
[SCIENTIST 2] Be careful.
[AMBER] This is why we came here.
[SCIENTIST 2] Yeah.
[SCIENTIST 1] Oh, nice. [SPEAKS SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2] Okay,
guys. Let's go to work.
- Oh, nice.
- These are all mature.
[AMBER] See?
[CHICKENS CLUCKING]
[SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2 SPEAKING SPANISH]
[ELDER SPEAKING SPANISH]
[AMBER] We need your knowledge for,
um for our for lots of stuff.
[ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
[VILLAGER SPEAKING SPANISH]
[AMBER] I have to. I've
got too much work to do.
My family. They're home, waiting for me.
- [ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
- [CHILD WHIMPERING]
[AMBER] Always.
[ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
[DUCKS QUACKING]
[MOTHER] Is this one?
Don't rob Peter to pay Paul. Is it?
Yeah. I think so.
[MOTHER] You wanna
know what else I think?
[BAMBI] No.
[MOTHER] You wanna be the
boss, you've gotta pay the cost.
Don't do the crime if
you can't do the time.
Well, some people don't have a choice.
[MOTHER] Hmm.
A man's character is his destiny.
That's not bad. I like it. Is it Greek?
- Maybe.
- Hmm.
[BAMBI] You heard from Amber?
She hasn't called me in a few days.
I knew she'd get in trouble.
Just hope she wasn't
eaten by an alligator.
You know they have 'em
all over the jungle.
Or get bitten by a Zika insect and
she can't have a baby for ten years.
How does your brain even do that?
I read a lot.
They have human slavery
and whore tents in banana fields
where they get you hooked on heroin.
Do they?
Open your eyes.
You better go down there. Take
care of your sister, buster.
Why can't we just talk without you
turning everything into the apocalypse?
We don't know nothing
about the dark side, do we?
[THUNDER RUMBLING]
[SIGHS]
[SHEEP BLEATING]
[IN SPANISH] Hello.
Welcome.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
[SCIENTIST 1] Yeah,
they're from the town.
- [AMBER] Mmm.
- [GUERRILLAS SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 1] I don't
know why they're here.
[GUERRILLA SPEAKS SPANISH]
[AMBER] All right. Looks
like they wanna talk.
[AMBER CLEARS THROAT]
[IN SPANISH] What's up?
What are you doing out here?
Scientific research.
I talked to the commander.
We already have permission.
[LEAD GUERRILLA] We have
to check all your equipment.
[SCIENTIST 2] Gentlemen,
we are here to work.
I already talked to your
guys back at the village,
the letter is authentic.
Here.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
Take everything out.
Check it all.
- [SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2, IN SPANISH] Hey,
be careful with the equipment.
Gracias.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
God, please help us. Please, God.
Dear Heavenly Father, please
[SCIENTIST 2 SPEAKING SPANISH]
[LINE RINGING]
[CELL PHONE RINGING]
- Yeah?
- Where are you?
Lakewood.
[PRINCE] Have you heard from Amber?
[BAMBI] Not in a few days.
We need to meet. How fast
can you be at my house?
[TIRES SQUEALING]
[PRINCE] You need context.
Before she left, I put a
tracking beacon in her bag.
I've been following it daily.
She goes into the jungle for her
research and back out to this camp,
but in the last 24 hours, the
signal hasn't moved. It's been here.
- [BAMBI] New camp?
- [PRINCE] There's no way to camp here.
You see, the signal is
at the bottom of a cliff.
[PRINCE] There you go.
She got separated from her
beacon, that's what happened.
It was in her backpack.
- Maybe she tossed it.
- Yeah.
I'm surprised she
agreed to carry a beacon.
She's supposed to be sterile.
I just I just put in her
bag. I mean, she didn't want it.
Why Why would she have to be sterile?
- For her work.
- What are you talking about?
She doesn't need to be sterile,
she's a fucking scientist.
I don't know what to tell you, man.
What? What the fuck are you talking
about with her being sterile?
That makes no sense.
Uh, there's things you
don't know, I guess.
Well, go on.
[SIGHS] She's got a side thing she's
doing for the Agency down there.
A little work for Mitch. She's
supposed to be sterile for that.
- [SIGHS] Is she a field officer?
- No, she's a subcontractor. Small fry.
How it works is they got thousands
and thousands of people
all over the world
- collecting information
- Yeah, I know how the CIA works.
- So it's not that big a deal.
- It's not a big deal?
They put it in a file. Big
data. Nobody looks at it.
You are both fucking liars.
She works for the CIA in whatever
capacity, she should have told me.
And you should have told
me at the very least.
Oh, this is delicious.
Where did you get it?
- You fucking serious?
- Yeah, where did you get it?
They don't sell this
imported shit in my store.
Where did you get it?
At a high-end, overpriced
market for rich people.
[SCOFFS] Exactly.
This started when we were
poor, before she even met you.
Oh, that's such a touching story.
No money, no daddy, so
you both became liars.
How did they do it? Did they
recruit her outta college?
They get her fellowships,
money, support.
Well, what about Colombia? Is she
Is she taking pictures
of sensitive sites?
- I'm calling Mitch. No, she does not.
- That's really fucking dangerous.
- [LINE RINGING]
- Yeah.
[CELL PHONE RINGING]
[CELL PHONE STOPS RINGING]
- I was just about to call you.
- [BAMBI] Well, go.
[MITCH] She and two scientists
got rolled up by an ELN guerrilla
group operating in the area.
We have contacts into them.
We know the leadership. She
had permission to be there.
It was a mistake, it'll get sorted.
Now, the other two scientists may
have been executed, but she's okay.
- American, special status.
- [PRINCE SIGHS]
I need you to call me every
30 minutes, give me an update.
[MITCH] Roger. I got this. Hang tight.
[SIGHS]
I'm gonna ask you a question.
I want you to really think
about this before you answer.
How much do you trust
the CIA at this point?
[HELICOPTER BLADES WHIRRING]

[HORSE BLUSTERS]
God, please help us. Please, God.
Dear Heavenly Father, please
[GUNSHOT]
[PEOPLE CHATTERING INDISTINCTLY]
[BRIDESMAID] I know, I know.
Oh, my God. I know. So pretty.
- I just feel like I can't breathe.
- Okay.
- All right, well
- A little bit.
maybe just take small
breaths. Just like In and out.
Dress is compressing
my diaphragm, you guys.
- It's like somebody stole my oxygen.
- [BRIDESMAID] Just breathe. Small breaths.
[CLASSICAL MUSIC PLAYING]
Okay. Okay, Amber, you are
perfect, and it is three o'clock.
I need a Valium.
[BRIDESMAIDS LAUGHING]
Actually, I need my brother.
- Oh, okay. R Really?
- We can do that.
Yeah, I just need a second
Need a minute with my brother.
- [BRIDESMAID] Yeah, let's do it.
- We'll be right there.
- [BRIDESMAID] Let's go, girls.
- Thank you.
- All good?
- Yeah. I mean
- They're always late.
- [CHUCKLES]
[CLASSICAL MUSIC PLAYING]
[WHISPERING INDISTINCTLY]
Give me a minute. All good.
- Everything all right?
- Yeah.
[EXHALES DEEPLY]
[SIGHS]
[SIBLING] Wow.
Thanks.
Whoo!
I just need you to tell me
this is real. It's gonna last.
Well, nothing lasts forever,
and he is your first husband.
[CHUCKLES] That's a good point. Yeah.
But it's real. It's
love. It's happiness.
[INHALES DEEPLY] That's
it, Bug. You did it.
I know.
But, like, I'm not
missing something, right?
Yeah, we're different. Our values
Prince doesn't like family. He
only sees his dad once a year.
He hasn't talked to
his mother in forever.
Amber, baby
I'm not worried for you two.
I mean, he's good to you, no?
Prince is a guy who's used
to getting what he wants.
You've got spine.
It's gonna be a real marriage of equals.
You know how much I love you, right?
Nothing's gonna change here.
It's always been you and me.
- Yeah.
- Yeah. [CHUCKLES]
And Mom.
Okay. If I throw you over my
shoulder, this dress will wrinkle.
- Okay. [CHUCKLES]
- Okay?
- Let's go.
- [SIGHS]
Oh. [CHUCKLES]
Whew. [BREATHES SHAKILY]
Wait.
What?
One thing's different.
He's not just another guy in your unit.
You need to bring him back to me.
He comes home.
Yes or no?
I hear you, Bug.
- Okay.
- Okay.
["BRIDAL CHORUS" PLAYING]
- [ORCHESTRAL SONG PLAYING]
- [CHAMPAGNE CORK POPPING]
What can I tell you, son?
Happy wife, happy life.
- Isn't that right?
- Mm-hmm.
- Congratulations, bud. Great ceremony.
- Hey. Thanks, man.
Well, that's pretty
rich coming from you.
Well, after three tries,
trust me, I'm an expert.
- [PRINCE] Yeah.
- Yeah. [LAUGHS]
Yeah, man. Welcome to the family.
I know I'm not your father,
but I would like the honor
of stepping in for him today
and having this dance.
- Would that be possible?
- Yes.
- I'll be back, hon.
- [WIFE] Excellent.
[CHUCKLES]
Anything you need today,
- I'm your man, okay?
- Thank you.
[ORCHESTRAL SONG ENDS]
[GUESTS CHATTERING]
[ENGINE REVS IN DISTANCE]
[VEHICLE APPROACHING]
- [VEHICLE DOOR SLAMS]
- [VEHICLE ALARM CHIRPS]
[VALET] Hey, John, I need
the keys to number two.
[JOHN] Yeah, we got that
up here for him already.
What's going on, Mom?
Fresh air. Taking it all in.
Enjoying the party?
[CHUCKLES] Not my people. They
don't want me to participate.
Maybe for your daughter's sake,
fake it as a normal person.
Lay off the drugs.
Or maybe you have a drink.
Might improve your personality.
Now get back in there and do your
job. Take care of your sister.
You're probably boiling up inside.
She married your rich friend.
You still got a job to do.
You make sure he doesn't start
treating her like a piece of property.
[COUNTRY SONG PLAYING]
Is it, uh, too soon
to talk about a baby?
- It probably is, right? Yeah, maybe
- Maybe wait till after the wedding?
Or maybe we should Yeah,
we can wait till tomorrow.
I mean, I-I'm kidding.
I mean, I'm not
- He's a deliberate man.
- Yeah.
He likes to think it through.
But the clock is ticking
on the Senate run too.
There's nothing more irresistible
than a war hero with a young family.
I don't want the window to
close on that opportunity.
- Does this remind you of our wedding?
- Nope. A lot of important people here.
- [FRIEND] You're pretty important too.
- Yeah?
You're their leader. All
your boys are growing up.
[COUNTRY SONG CONTINUING]
Son, cut in.
Can I get some water, please?
- Brother-in-law, right?
- [CHUCKLES] I am now.
Yeah, Roy Leonard.
Alex Chesborough. Call me "Bambi."
- Bambi?
- That's right.
[CHUCKLES]
Prince tells me you're,
uh, ex-New Zealand group?
Yeah, yeah. Oh, that was
back in the day, mate.
You know the story. We ate,
uh, snakes in the jungle.
Ah, yeah. Heard that one. It
tastes like chicken, right?
[CHUCKLING]

[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
It's an important step in a man's life
when you take a wife and
start a family. Right?
Nurturing others, not just yourself.
That's the true mark of manhood.
- Yeah. Cheers to that.
- [FRIEND] Huh? But remember,
this is the only family you can
call at two o'clock in the morning,
say, "I'm fucked up, I crashed the car,
and there's a body in the trunk."
And we're not gonna ask why. We're
gonna say, "What do you need?"
Unless you split with my sister.
- Nah, then we'll just shoot you.
- [ALL CHUCKLE]
[SOLDIER] A couple times. [CHUCKLES]
Well, to murder.
- Murder.
- Murder.
[GLASSES CLINKING]
[ROCK SONG CONTINUING]
[ALL CHEERING, LAUGHING]
[CELL PHONE RINGING]
Yes, sir?
Roger that.
Prince!
Yo, Drifter. Brother!
- [DRIFTER] We got a flyaway.
- Fuck.
You have fun tonight. I'll
see you in the morning.
Love you, brother.
[SIGHS]
[ROCK SONG CONTINUING]
[ROCK SONG ENDS]
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
Listen up. [CLEARS THROAT]
We gotta be wheels up in eight hours.
We're gonna grab a couple
of our own. No more boozing.
- Yes, sir.
- [SOLDIER 1] Copy.
[SOLDIER 2] Let's roll.
[AMBER MOANING]
[PRINCE, AMBER MOANING]
Hey, now you are my North Star.
- Like a navigation point?
- [CHUCKLES]
- Like a GPS?
- [CHUCKLES] No.
- A nice human computer bringing you home.
- No. No. Like the sun. Like the moon.
You're the whole universe.
I love you.
I love you.
- Babe?
- Hmm?
We have a flyaway
tomorrow.
Tomorrow? [SCOFFS]
- [PRINCE] Yeah.
- It's already tomorrow.
I'm so sorry. Hostage rescue.
I'm so sorry.
[AMBER EXHALES SHARPLY]
[PRINCE SIGHS]
I have to be on base at 0800.
Mmm.
They let me have the night.
Well [CHUCKLES]
gives us six hours.
[AMBER LAUGHING]
[PRINCE CHUCKLES]
- [COPILOT] Systems are good.
- [PILOT SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY] good.
[COMMAND] Copy. LZ is three minutes out.
[PILOT SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[COMMAND] If it gets much
worse then we have to abort.
- [PILOT] Copy.
- [COPILOT] Starting our approach.
[COMMAND SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
[CAPTOR 1 BREATHES SHARPLY]
[COPILOT] ISR has the LZ.
[COMMAND] Copy. LZ is clear.
- [PILOT] One minute out.
- [COPILOT] One minute!
- One minute.
- One minute.
[ALL] One minute.
[COPILOT] Starting our approach.
We're approaching the LZ.
[COMMANDER] Roger. You should
have ISR coverage in 30 seconds.
- [COPILOT] Have eyes on in 30 seconds.
- [DRIFTER] Thirty seconds!
[ALL] Thirty seconds!
[COPILOT] Three, two, one. Doors open.
Doors open.
Anything?
Visibility is degrading.
[COPILOT] Lay low.
[DRIFTER] Ropes, ropes, ropes.
[COPILOT] Copy. Ropes
coming out on the left side.
- First rope is going out.
- [DRIFTER] Copy.
[DRIFTER] Prince, wait.
This isn't right. Something's wrong.
The drone is over the wrong
mountain. This LZ is not clear.
Get that fucking drone
over the right mountain.
[DRONE PILOT] Yes, sir. Moving in now.
- [COPILOT] Moving down.
- [COMMAND] There's movement on the ground.
[CAPTORS CLAMORING]
[PILOT] Taking fire! We're taking fire!
- [SOLDIERS SHOUTING]
- [COPILOT] Ridgeline. Ridgeline!
Prince is on the rope!
Prince is on the rope!
[COPILOT] Okay, we still
have an operator on the rope.
He's off. He's off.
[GRUNTS, GROANS]
[DRIFTER] Prince, are you all right?
[BREATHES HEAVILY] I'm good.
- [PILOT] Abort! Abort!
- [SOLDIER] We've got a man down there!
[PILOT] The bird's damaged. We've
gotta go back to base and transload.
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
Then put me down right here!
[PILOT] You're 1,000 feet of elevation
and half a klick from the target.
[COPILOT] The snow looks pretty soft.
[SOLDIER] Roger that.
[SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]
[COPILOT] Troops are
clear. Troops are clear.
[DRIFTER] Copy that. Let's go.
What's the plan? Do you have me?
[DRIFTER] We're being
reinserted half a klick away,
and we're climbing back up.
[PRINCE] Roger.
[DRIFTER] Good thing we left
our snowshoes on the bird.
[CAPTORS SPEAKING PASHTO]
[CAPTORS SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
The hostages are coming down to you.
[DRIFTER] They're coming down to us.
Might have to choose between getting
the hostages and going for Prince.
That's easy. We get our guy.
No, mission first.
Prince will have to wait.
Let's set up right here.
They'll walk right to us.
[DRIFTER] Prince, you good?
I'm good, but not for much longer.
[PANTING, GRUNTING]
This is bullshit. We're
sitting here, playing commando,
while Prince is up there by himself.
[GUNSHOTS]
[PRINCE GRUNTS]
- [DRIFTER] Prince?
- [PRINCE] I'm good. I'm good.
Hang tight.
[HOSTAGES SOBBING, BREATHING HEAVILY]
[MUFFLED GUNSHOTS]
Journalists! Don't shoot! [GASPING]
Don't shoot! Journalists!
- US rescue force!
- USA! We're rescue force. You're safe.
Command, package secure.
Roger. Gunship had to pull
off because of daylight.
Stand by for QRF inbound.
[DRIFTER] Get 'em down to the bird.
[COMMAND] We also have
movement coming up the mountain.
- Drifter, I gotta get Prince.
- Okay.
[DRIFTER] We're going for Prince.
Drifter, we cannot get any
fixed-wing support in there right now.
[DRIFTER] Prince is alone up there.
On me.
[GRUNTING, PANTING]
[DRIFTER] I got eyes on our guy.
Prince, we have a
visual on you, brother.
[CAPTORS SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[PANTING]
Guys, we've got a bunker up
there with a heavy machine gun.
I'm not going to be able to get to you.
You've gotta clear that first.
[DRIFTER] Triple, we gotta
leave our own base and fire
so we can get him across.
- We've gotta flank 'em.
- Copy that.
- Bambi, you cover our movements.
- [BAMBI] Copy that.
- [DRIFTER] Stay there, Prince.
- [PRINCE] Roger.
[GUNSHOTS FIRING]
[GUNFIRE CONTINUES]
[BAMBI] Drifter, you're clear.
[GUNSHOTS FIRING]
[BREATHING HEAVILY]
Bunker's cleared.
[PRINCE] Roger. Moving across.
[DRIFTER] Bambi, I'm
coming back down to you.
[GUNSHOT]
[GRUNTS]
- Drifter!
- [SPEAKS FOREIGN LANGUAGE]
[BAMBI] We got another fighter up there.
Drifter is down.
- [PRINCE] Bambi, go to him. Go to him!
- [BAMBI] I'm moving!
[GUNSHOT]
- [GUNSHOT]
- [PRINCE GRUNTS] I'm hit!
[GRUNTS, GROANS] Oh, fuck.
[BAMBI] You okay?
[PRINCE] I'm good,
I'm good. Help Drifter.
- Prince is hit.
- Fuck!
Foot patrol leaving the target area.
Six or seven fighters
going down to the tree line.
[COMMAND] You gotta move.
You don't have much time.
- Drifter!
- [BREATHING HEAVILY]
[BAMBI] You okay?
Just key in the comms, "I'm here."
Just move your head. Move your foot.
- [GROANS]
- [PANTING]
[SHOUTING IN PASHTO]
[TRIPLE] Bambi, this is Triple.
I can't get back to you, brother.
I'm stuck. I'm at least ten minutes out.
[COMMAND] You've got fighters closing in
on Prince's position. Thirty seconds.
[BAMBI] Just move
your foot or your head.
Just key in the comms, "I'm here."
[COMMAND] Taliban on you in 20 seconds.
[GRUNTING]
[BAMBI] Triple, get back to the
bird. I got Prince. I'm headed down.
[DRIFTER BREATHING SHARPLY]
[PRINCE GRUNTING]
Drifter is dead. We gotta go down.
- Are you sure?
- Drifter is dead. We gotta go.
[PRINCE] Fuck! Are you sure?
[PRINCE WHISPERING] You feel so good.
[AMBER WHISPERING] So do you.
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
[NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE]
Hey.
What's wrong?
Is it Drifter?
Why don't you talk to Bambi about it?
Hey, can I ask you
something about the mission?
I'm trying to piece it together,
but he's not talking to me about it.
He got jammed up, but I was
already over the X by that time.
I was doing my thing. He was doing his.
I didn't really see Prince
on the op once it started.
[AMBER] Yeah. Okay.
Thank you.
Thank you both for having dinner
with me. It means a lot to me.
- Of course.
- We're here for each other. Right?
That's right.
- [SERVER] How are we this evening?
- Three specials,
and get us a bottle of your
most outrageous cabernet, please.
And some water for this guy.
[BAMBI CHUCKLES] Turned your back
on him and your meal was gone.
- [LAUGHS] Really? That's funny.
- [CHUCKLES] Oh, yeah. Every time. Yeah.
[BAMBI] Took Drifter's boys
to hockey practice today.
First time they'd been back on the ice.
- Jason got into a thing with the coach
- [AMBER] Ah.
but he handled it well.
They're They're solid boys.
They're so strong.
Yeah. Well, they had their
dad for ten, 12 years.
I don't understand. You think it's okay
for a ten-year-old
to not have his dad?
[BAMBI] No.
I'm saying they got a lot of
substance from their father already
that'll help 'em.
What What the f
People surviving hardship,
Prince. It's pretty common.
Right. I guess you're the best example.
[BAMBI] Well, I'm just a hard dog.
[SNICKERS]
What are we gonna do, bub?
Maybe you made a mistake.
Maybe.
You did.
Maybe not.
Maybe on the next op, I get
smoked for something you do.
- [BAMBI] You're running loops.
- Don't put this on me.
- [BAMBI] You're "hypotheticalizing"
- I'm not the problem.
and it doesn't work. You hear me?
And it's gonna get you
jammed up next time we're out.
[PRINCE SIGHS]
- I'm sorry.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
I'm sorry too. But he needs to own
this, otherwise we can't move on.
Accountability is a bitch, man.
[BAMBI] God.
Denial is gonna tear you
up. It's gonna fuck you up.
Is that right?
Drifter is dead. Your friend is dead.
- Do we have to make it about this?
- [PRINCE] Grieving widow.
There's two kids.
We just need to agree on this,
man, and come clean about it.
I'm gonna go.
I'm sorry.
[AMBER SIGHS]
You watch your six down there if I
don't see you before you go, okay?
Okay.
[JAZZ MUSIC PLAYING]
[DOOR CLOSES]
[PRINCE] I'm sorry I was hard on him.
I was just trying to tell the truth.
[AMBER] I don't
understand you sometimes.
[PRINCE] He would do
exactly the same to me
if he thought I'd screwed up.
No, he wouldn't.
He didn't have to leave him behind.
[BREATHES SHAKILY]
Well, maybe it's a good
thing you're getting out now.
What's that supposed to mean?
Maybe it's not what you're meant to do.
- I don't know, jump to politics.
- What?
Whatever it is, you're taking
out your frustrations on Bambi.
You were there too. You
didn't save Drifter. Hmm.
This whole thing falls apart if
we can't be honest with each other.
And you're sure this isn't about
competition between you guys?
- Is that what you really think of me?
- Just asking.
That's a gross question.
I'm in pain too, but
instead of thinking of that,
all you can do is revert
to your redneck loyalty.
Okay, I'm sorry, I know
that's a shitty thing to say,
but you always take your brother's
side, no matter how horrible.
Why did you even marry me if
we're not gonna be a family?
[BREATHING HEAVILY]
[PRINCE BREATHES DEEPLY]
- I shouldn't have said that.
- Admit it.
- I was way out of
- You like it.
You like my redneck fucking loyalty.
[PRINCE CHUCKLES]
- That's true.
- [AMBER CHUCKLES]
[AMBER MOANING]
[AMBER SIGHS]
What is this doing here?
It's a beacon. It's to keep you safe.
Come on. It's the same as we
carry. It's military grade.
No, thanks.
- You're going to Colombia.
- Right. I've been all around the world.
Your phone isn't gonna
work in the jungle.
- This is just basic safety.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
[PRINCE] Now you think
I'm being controlling?
This is protection against
an emergency. Come on.
- I'm concerned is all.
- [AMBER] Yeah, well,
you promised me when we got
married you wouldn't do this shit.
All right, so what if
something happens to you?
What is this? What are you doing?
- You're going out for a run now?
- [AMBER] Yeah.
[PRINCE] Isn't that a little dangerous?
[SCOFFS] T-Take the dog at least.
[AMBER] I need time alone.
[DOG BARKING IN DISTANCE]
[BAR PATRONS CHATTERING]
[DEVICE BEEPS]
[SIREN BLARING IN DISTANCE]
[HORNS HONKING IN DISTANCE]
[BIRDS CHIRPING]
[CHUCKLES]
We're fine, right?
Yeah.
Hey. Hey.
Should I stay and take care of you guys?
No, come on. We're big boys.
Relax. Everything's fine. Come on.
[AUDIENCE CHEERING, APPLAUDING]
- Good morning, y'all. [CHUCKLES]
- [AUDIENCE] Morning.
How is everybody today?
- [AUDIENCE] Yeah. Good.
- Good.
Has anyone taken drugs today?
Come on. What about, um,
coffee? 'Cause caffeine counts.
Uh, nicotine?
How about a little
spoonful of sugar? It is.
Sugar affects the brain in the
same way as substances of abuse.
You see, the truth is we
all take drugs every day,
but I am here to talk
about the heavy hitters.
Here's a number for you.
Twenty-three million.
That's the number of Americans
who struggle with drug addiction.
We're a nation in pain.
And this is very personal for me,
because my mother is a drug addict.
And it's frustrating,
because the cure for addiction
is right in front of our faces,
but the scientific community,
we don't want to admit
that there's a cure.
And we don't want to admit it
because then we would be admitting
that these guys were right.
You see, neuroscience tells us
that addiction is a problem of
the brain not being able to change
once it is hooked onto a substance,
yet we have decades of
research that tell us
psychedelics are the most powerful
mind-altering compounds on this planet.
Now, I am not suggesting we all
drop acid, and we're cured. No.
You need to be in a therapeutic
setting, and you need to be guided.
Fortunately, there are people
that exist on this planet
who know how to use
psychedelics therapeutically.
We call them "shamans."
He must be doing something right,
because addiction is essentially
unknown in his community.
In fact, it does not exist.
[SCIENTIST] Hmm. Touch
of ginger, bit of soy.
Yeah, that's magic. You are a magician.
- [AMBER] Nah, I'm just one of the elves.
- [SCIENTIST CHUCKLES]
- That's good. We're done.
- [AMBER SIGHS]
[SCIENTIST] Bye-bye.
[AMBER] Okay, Arthur, lay it on me.
It's our last day in the lab.
I am wide open for advice.
Ooh, we're gonna have
one of those moments
where the the mentor encourages
his star student to
believe in her vision.
I believe.
It's everybody else who thinks I'm
crazy for going to South America
to study plants and rituals all to
find, you know, cures for addiction.
Yeah, well, we talked
about frontier science.
You're gonna get a lot of
skepticism and ridicule,
but I can see the future,
and in it, you help.
With your grasp of alkaloids, you
could be the next Timothy Leary.
I do like to do good,
but maybe that's vanity.
- No.
- Hmm.
It's who you are.
[BIRDS SINGING]
[BLADE SLICING THROUGH UNDERBRUSH]
[SCIENTIST 1] I read your
study before you came.
We all did.
"Not all frontiers are in outer space.
Alkaloids are the last great black
holes. They must be explored."
Thanks.
- [SCIENTIST 2] Hey, Amber.
- [AMBER] Yeah?
[SCIENTIST 2] We got enough.
[AMBER] No, no, keep going.
[SCIENTIST 2] Be careful.
[AMBER] This is why we came here.
[SCIENTIST 2] Yeah.
[SCIENTIST 1] Oh, nice. [SPEAKS SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2] Okay,
guys. Let's go to work.
- Oh, nice.
- These are all mature.
[AMBER] See?
[CHICKENS CLUCKING]
[SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2 SPEAKING SPANISH]
[ELDER SPEAKING SPANISH]
[AMBER] We need your knowledge for,
um for our for lots of stuff.
[ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
[VILLAGER SPEAKING SPANISH]
[AMBER] I have to. I've
got too much work to do.
My family. They're home, waiting for me.
- [ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
- [CHILD WHIMPERING]
[AMBER] Always.
[ELDER CONTINUES SPEAKING SPANISH]
[DUCKS QUACKING]
[MOTHER] Is this one?
Don't rob Peter to pay Paul. Is it?
Yeah. I think so.
[MOTHER] You wanna
know what else I think?
[BAMBI] No.
[MOTHER] You wanna be the
boss, you've gotta pay the cost.
Don't do the crime if
you can't do the time.
Well, some people don't have a choice.
[MOTHER] Hmm.
A man's character is his destiny.
That's not bad. I like it. Is it Greek?
- Maybe.
- Hmm.
[BAMBI] You heard from Amber?
She hasn't called me in a few days.
I knew she'd get in trouble.
Just hope she wasn't
eaten by an alligator.
You know they have 'em
all over the jungle.
Or get bitten by a Zika insect and
she can't have a baby for ten years.
How does your brain even do that?
I read a lot.
They have human slavery
and whore tents in banana fields
where they get you hooked on heroin.
Do they?
Open your eyes.
You better go down there. Take
care of your sister, buster.
Why can't we just talk without you
turning everything into the apocalypse?
We don't know nothing
about the dark side, do we?
[THUNDER RUMBLING]
[SIGHS]
[SHEEP BLEATING]
[IN SPANISH] Hello.
Welcome.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
[SCIENTIST 1] Yeah,
they're from the town.
- [AMBER] Mmm.
- [GUERRILLAS SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 1] I don't
know why they're here.
[GUERRILLA SPEAKS SPANISH]
[AMBER] All right. Looks
like they wanna talk.
[AMBER CLEARS THROAT]
[IN SPANISH] What's up?
What are you doing out here?
Scientific research.
I talked to the commander.
We already have permission.
[LEAD GUERRILLA] We have
to check all your equipment.
[SCIENTIST 2] Gentlemen,
we are here to work.
I already talked to your
guys back at the village,
the letter is authentic.
Here.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
Take everything out.
Check it all.
- [SPEAKING SPANISH]
[SCIENTIST 2, IN SPANISH] Hey,
be careful with the equipment.
Gracias.
[HORSE WHINNYING]
God, please help us. Please, God.
Dear Heavenly Father, please
[SCIENTIST 2 SPEAKING SPANISH]
[LINE RINGING]
[CELL PHONE RINGING]
- Yeah?
- Where are you?
Lakewood.
[PRINCE] Have you heard from Amber?
[BAMBI] Not in a few days.
We need to meet. How fast
can you be at my house?
[TIRES SQUEALING]
[PRINCE] You need context.
Before she left, I put a
tracking beacon in her bag.
I've been following it daily.
She goes into the jungle for her
research and back out to this camp,
but in the last 24 hours, the
signal hasn't moved. It's been here.
- [BAMBI] New camp?
- [PRINCE] There's no way to camp here.
You see, the signal is
at the bottom of a cliff.
[PRINCE] There you go.
She got separated from her
beacon, that's what happened.
It was in her backpack.
- Maybe she tossed it.
- Yeah.
I'm surprised she
agreed to carry a beacon.
She's supposed to be sterile.
I just I just put in her
bag. I mean, she didn't want it.
Why Why would she have to be sterile?
- For her work.
- What are you talking about?
She doesn't need to be sterile,
she's a fucking scientist.
I don't know what to tell you, man.
What? What the fuck are you talking
about with her being sterile?
That makes no sense.
Uh, there's things you
don't know, I guess.
Well, go on.
[SIGHS] She's got a side thing she's
doing for the Agency down there.
A little work for Mitch. She's
supposed to be sterile for that.
- [SIGHS] Is she a field officer?
- No, she's a subcontractor. Small fry.
How it works is they got thousands
and thousands of people
all over the world
- collecting information
- Yeah, I know how the CIA works.
- So it's not that big a deal.
- It's not a big deal?
They put it in a file. Big
data. Nobody looks at it.
You are both fucking liars.
She works for the CIA in whatever
capacity, she should have told me.
And you should have told
me at the very least.
Oh, this is delicious.
Where did you get it?
- You fucking serious?
- Yeah, where did you get it?
They don't sell this
imported shit in my store.
Where did you get it?
At a high-end, overpriced
market for rich people.
[SCOFFS] Exactly.
This started when we were
poor, before she even met you.
Oh, that's such a touching story.
No money, no daddy, so
you both became liars.
How did they do it? Did they
recruit her outta college?
They get her fellowships,
money, support.
Well, what about Colombia? Is she
Is she taking pictures
of sensitive sites?
- I'm calling Mitch. No, she does not.
- That's really fucking dangerous.
- [LINE RINGING]
- Yeah.
[CELL PHONE RINGING]
[CELL PHONE STOPS RINGING]
- I was just about to call you.
- [BAMBI] Well, go.
[MITCH] She and two scientists
got rolled up by an ELN guerrilla
group operating in the area.
We have contacts into them.
We know the leadership. She
had permission to be there.
It was a mistake, it'll get sorted.
Now, the other two scientists may
have been executed, but she's okay.
- American, special status.
- [PRINCE SIGHS]
I need you to call me every
30 minutes, give me an update.
[MITCH] Roger. I got this. Hang tight.
[SIGHS]
I'm gonna ask you a question.
I want you to really think
about this before you answer.
How much do you trust
the CIA at this point?
[HELICOPTER BLADES WHIRRING]
