Lost in Oz (2015) s01e01 Episode Script
Extended Adventure
1 [birds tweeting.]
Woman: Rise and shine, kiddo.
Girl: I'm up.
[footsteps approaching.]
- The bus will be here in 20.
- [groaning.]
- Some help here, Toto.
- [toy squeaks.]
Huh? [groans.]
- [toy squeaks.]
- [panting.]
- Sell out.
- [whimpers.]
I'm serious, Dorothy.
I can't take you to school today.
I'm on it, Mom.
I fixed it up last night No.
No machines, no shortcuts.
Just keep it simple today.
- Wait! - [zipping.]
[popping.]
- I need to fix that.
- Yes.
Later.
- Now, get to school.
- Ugh! Mom! - [water running.]
- Mother: Bye, Dorothy.
Love you.
Love you, too.
[spits.]
Right there.
Mm-hmm.
[gasps.]
Ha! - [zipping.]
- [popping.]
[grunting.]
Yes! [water running.]
[gasping.]
[faucet squeaking.]
[sighs.]
I'm gonna miss the bus.
- [water dripping.]
- Huh? - [barking.]
- Hmm.
[sniffs.]
[water dripping.]
[straining.]
[sniffing.]
Whoa.
What is this? There's nothing in here.
[gasping.]
Hmm? Yeah.
I'm trying.
"You must actually say 'Go Forth.
'" [gasping.]
Wow.
[gasping.]
[growling, barking.]
Ohh! - [barking.]
- [grunting.]
- Toto, get back here.
- [barking.]
[wind blowing.]
[screaming.]
[whooshing.]
Man: [on radio.]
What up, Kanzaniacs! Hey, it's another beautiful morning out there.
Oh, this just in.
Storm watch.
[cellphone rings.]
You're still home? Dorothy.
- Dorothy: The house is flying! - What? Ahh! I found this book! - [tires squealing.]
- Tell me you didn't say "Go Forth"? - Mom, what's happening? - Of course, you did.
How could you not.
Okay, listen.
Where's the book? [creaking.]
[clattering.]
[grunting.]
[gasping.]
- Okay, I got it.
- Find the map.
- [thud.]
- Ahh! [grunting.]
[grunting.]
- Found it! - Good.
Now, listen carefully.
- When you land in Emerald City - Tell me how to make it stop.
You can't stop it, Dorothy.
You are going to Oz.
Oz? What is Oz? Listen to me.
Use the map, find the Yellow Brick Line, and take it to 41st and Infinity.
- What are you talking about? - You can do this, Dorothy.
- [horns honking.]
- Do what? I am in a tornado.
Get back to me, Dorothy.
Yellow Line.
41st and Infinity.
Find your way home! [grunting.]
[eerie quiet.]
Mom? [tires squeal.]
I know it's been a long time, but I really need your help.
- [wind blowing.]
- [house creaking.]
- [thudding.]
- [screaming.]
[wind blowing.]
[grunting.]
[door creaks.]
[gasping.]
Wow.
[whimpering.]
- Come on, Toto.
- [growling.]
Man: Freeze right there! Ahh! Bureau of Magic.
You're coming with me.
Ahh! Dorothy: Wait.
How did you How did we - Weren't you just - You just flew into Emerald City on an unauthorized inter-kingdom tornado.
Where'd you get the magic? I don't know anything about magic.
All I want is to take my home back home.
[gasping.]
Open your eyes, Futz! Uh, it's Fitz, sir.
- Uh, sorry.
- Hey, what is that? That's how we got here.
No way! I haven't seen one of these since I was a kid.
There used to be so much magic around here they'd use it to jazz up lunch boxes, jean jackets, scrap books like this.
You know, this would be worth something in good condition.
Can it still get me home? [sighs.]
And here I thought you were a criminal mastermind.
Inter-kingdom travel requires a combination of every magical element on the periodic table.
Mm, this one's empty.
So I need every magical element.
- Wait, what's a magical element? - Quit getting her hopes up.
We're in the middle of the worst magic crime wave in eons.
Oh, there's always magic out there, if you know where to look.
Enjoy Emerald City, Miss Gale.
Or at least get used to it.
You're not goin' anywhere.
[chatter.]
Huh.
We are not in Kansas anymore.
Okay, find the Yellow Brick Line.
[sighs.]
Now what? [straining.]
[gasping.]
- [sighs.]
- [Toto barking.]
Oh, now you strike me as an expert when it comes to magic.
Um, excuse me.
Woo, woo, slow down there.
I'm not gonna bite.
See? No teeth.
I thought there was a magic crisis? That's right, you are very observative.
Supply is down and business is up, up, up, making it a true stoke of luck that you found me when you did.
What do they do? Ooh, future, past, present.
Taller, shorter, meaner, nicer.
That right there is a genuine echo jar from the hills of Quadling Country.
Which one makes you bug off? Ah-ha! A cynic.
I welcome the challenge.
Keep an amphibian honest and you keep the industry honest.
Real magic doesn't need batteries.
Well, how about you keep that and uh [chuckles.]
we just keep this to ourselves.
You can't just listen to anyone on the street here, Dorothy.
Whoa.
How do you know my name? Your mom called my mom, and then my mom totally jacked my entire day, and made me come look for you.
So [singsongy.]
Found you.
Wait, our moms know each other? I was supposed to take the Yellow Line to an address.
Yeah.
Mine.
Try to keep up, Dorothy.
Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Wait.
You're taking me to school? - No, I should be finding my way home.
- Okay, one: My life doesn't start and stop for you.
And two: Go.
Do whatever you want to do.
I was told to find you, not restrain you.
- And three - Ahh! Uh, anyone else breathe fire that I should be aware of? - [sighs.]
- Hey, West, who's your friend? I don't vouch for her.
[Toto whimpers.]
Don't worry, Toto.
I'll get us home.
- Where's home? - Um, Kansas.
Whoa.
Sounds exotic.
I've never met anyone from Kansas.
- I'm Ojo.
- I'm Dorothy.
That's Toto.
So, what do you eat in Kansas? - Corn.
- That's messed up.
My neighbors are corn.
So, Ojo, if there's, like, this huge magic shortage, then how is West doing that? [girls giggling.]
My magic could take on any one of yours in a fair fight.
There are over 100 different known magical elements in Oz.
And I need one of each to get home.
Tell me everything you know.
Okay.
On the outer levels, you have your basic gases, plasmas, metals, non-metals, dark matter, doesn't matter, and so on.
- There's magic you're born with - You wish you were born with it.
And then there are top shelf elements.
Levitationals, hyper-gravitationals, telekinetics, the kind of magic you just can't pick up at the corner alchemist.
And then there's Ozonium.
The rarest magic in Oz.
Awesome.
Where do I get that? You know, Dorothy, there are way worse places to be stuck for the rest of your life.
- [whimpers.]
- [sighs.]
Man, she's pretty upset, huh? [whimpers.]
It's physically impossible to not smile when you eat the kaplooeylooey fruit.
My entire life has been uprooted, but I'm sure a piece of fruit [laughing.]
Thanks, West.
You're welcome.
Man: Look out! [groaning.]
- [barks.]
- Ahh! Toto, no! Let me go! Toto.
Drop him.
Whoooa! [grunting.]
- [gasping.]
- [laughing.]
I'm sorry.
I'm so, so sorry.
Does it hurt? No.
But it's terribly inconvenient.
If you'd just hold still I can fix it.
I've lost a leg before, I'll find another.
Please, help me.
I know how to find the missing magic.
They're coming.
Dorothy.
What are you doing? - [growling.]
- Just stay cool.
Some help here, Toto.
[grunting.]
[explosion.]
Meet me back here tonight when the sun dips below the Lookout.
And bring the box.
Magic to the people! [grunting, growling.]
What box? [sniffing.]
- [whimpering.]
- [beeping.]
It's a whistle lock.
Yeah, right.
It's a total knockoff.
[whistling.]
Hmm.
[whistling.]
- Whoa.
What is it? - It can't be.
It's impossible.
But then again, I've never seen it in person.
Hello? What do you guys think it is? Or isn't? Ojo/West: Ozonium.
You mean the center of the periodic table Ozonium? Impossible to get Ozonium? The biggest step in getting me home Ozonium? You still have your Ozzopotomus? Don't judge, Munchkin.
- You're a Munchkin? - I'm big for my age.
- Nothing happened.
- Dorothy! Ahh! [oinking.]
Please tell me that was real magic.
Um, yeah, that's the real deal, all right.
Both: This changes everything.
[tones.]
Huh? - Both: Hey! - I don't know about you two, but I'm just fine not having a box full of magic - that has started more than one war.
- That's my ticket home.
Pucker up and whistle, Munchkin.
Whoa.
A witch could witch her entire life, and never see more than a grain of Ozonium.
And I've got a whole box.
The monkeys were after that box.
We keep it, they're coming after us.
Those monkeys have no idea who we are.
- [screaming.]
- Both: West! Help me! Hold on, West.
We'll find you.
We'll never find her.
Then we need to find that doll.
You lost it! That box is the key to everything.
I left it with you to keep it safe.
Well, the monkeys took it, and they took our friend.
So where is West? Where is West.
This is bigger than your friend! We're talking about all the missing magic of Emerald City.
And he is the only one who knows where to find it.
You were gonna use the Ozonium to bring the Lookout back to life.
That was the plan, until somebody's dog ripped off my leg! [whimpers.]
A statue knows where the magic is? It's not a statue.
That is the guardian of Emerald City.
The Lookout sees everything.
When the crooked magician stole his magic, and turned him to stone, there was no one left to protect us.
Dorothy? [grunting.]
[gasps.]
Dorothy! [grunting.]
Let.
Me.
Down! [grunting.]
[grunting.]
[gasping.]
Whoa.
You're sure he knows where to find West? We don't call him the Lookout for nothing.
Let's hope one's enough.
[screaming.]
[gasping.]
[laughing.]
[laughs.]
I'd like to see those witches gang up on me now.
- Not bad.
- Huh? Not bad at all.
You're a natural.
Here.
Let me show you something.
[hissing.]
- Dude.
- [chuckles.]
Right? You know, we could make a good team.
With my resources and your raw talent, we can do some serious damage.
[hissing.]
[gasping.]
The Lookout! Yah! - What? - [hissing.]
[groans.]
We need to work on your focus.
Monkeys! Fly.
Whoa.
[gasping.]
[growling.]
Go after your friend.
We'll cover you.
Ahhh! [grunting.]
Ahh! [whimpering.]
Whoa! Toto! Don't let go.
[grunting.]
[Ojo groaning.]
[growling.]
Dorothy.
Look.
What are all these statues doing down here? They aren't statues.
Their magic was stolen.
They were turned to stone.
Just like the Lookout.
We just found the missing magic of Emerald City.
Ahh.
Fitz: You woke the Lookout? The only one who could find me.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a decent secret lair around here? And I tried to help you.
- Fitz? - You know this guy? That's what I get for being nice to a tourist.
[growling.]
Let's go, West.
West! I hope you get home, Dorothy.
- You don't belong here.
- [gasping.]
Oh, they're not going anywhere.
Though I'll hardly get any magic out of a Munchkin, and a Dorothy.
West.
[gasps.]
This isn't me.
I won't let you do this.
You can't turn them into statues.
Oh, can't I? Excuse me.
Does anyone here think that I can't turn them into statues? [chuckles.]
Anyone? Anyone?! What? You got nothin' to say because you don't talk! Pucker up and whistle, Ojo.
Fitz: Because you're statues.
- Because I turned you into - West: Let me guess.
- What? - Statues? Let's see what magic I can get out of you! [groaning.]
Whoooa! Hold on, Toto.
Ahhh! - [groaning.]
- [whimpering.]
[grunting, growling.]
Three of you, but only two crystals.
Oh, that's right.
You're not magic.
But your friends sure were.
[chuckles.]
Look at this Ozonium.
West had some serious witch potential.
I think I'll [straining.]
keep it in my new box.
You're right, Futz.
I'm not magic.
And neither is this.
[grunting.]
[whistling.]
Yes! No! Good luck getting home now! [evil laugh.]
- All that magic.
- Dorothy, come on.
Let's get out of here.
[whimpers.]
[barking.]
- [laughing.]
- Dorothy.
I guess I lost myself there for a minute.
Found you.
[laughing.]
Magic to the people! - Hey, West! - [gasps.]
Look at this.
That's my mom.
And that must be your mom.
Yeah, that's her all right.
But who's that? Wait a second.
She looks exactly like her.
That's Glinda the Good.
If anyone can get you home, she can.
So let's go find Glinda.
[grunt.]
[growling.]
[grunting.]
[horn blowing.]
- [barking.]
- Whoa! - What? You don't have trains in Kansas? - Not like this.
I remember taking this picture like it was yesterday.
Glinda always insisted on being in the middle when we took pictures.
She never wanted your mom and me to forget that she brought us together.
Okay.
Time out.
Are you seriously telling us that you're BFFs with Glinda? No, I'm telling you that I used to be.
What?! Mom, how come I don't know that? Well, nipkit, because it was a long time ago, - and it's complicated.
- Complicated how? And don't just say I'll totally get it when I'm older.
Sometimes there are forces way beyond your control, and no matter how hard you try Uh, you try harder? I mean, come on.
- It's Glinda the Good.
- Even if you try your hardest, there are times when nothing you do can change what happens.
- I think I'm gonna cry.
- I think I'm gonna puke.
So, it's perfect.
Let's use me being stuck here as an excuse to get back in touch.
You, my mom and Glinda, we can all get on the smart ball, and discuss the best way to send me home.
Oh, honey, this is Glinda the Good we're talking about.
And, yes, she's very powerful.
And, yes, we were once very close, but this city's also in the middle of a very unfortunate magic crisis, so she doesn't have time to do favors for old friends.
But maybe if you told her I'm Evelyn Gale's daughter I've tried to get in touch with her many times before.
It's harder than finding Ozonium these days, and that, I'm sure the kids have told you, is impossible.
But of course, who am I kidding? You're Evelyn Gale's daughter.
I say "impossible," and you hear "worth a shot.
" [sighs.]
What else is in this book that you haven't told me about? Hey, check it out.
That's Dorothy.
Last night when she was Helping me study for my doesn't matter exam, Ojo.
Man: [on PA.]
Next stop, Emerald City Square.
Hey, look! Here's our stop.
[fireworks exploding.]
[brakes squealing.]
[fireworks exploding.]
[barking.]
[whining.]
See you kids for dinner.
Ojo, you're more than welcome to join us.
- No, he's not.
- Enjoy the celebration.
It's exactly what this city needs.
Wish I could join you, but I've got appointments all day, starting with a very crabby squid with a joint problem.
He has joints.
It's a problem.
See ya! What is that? Whoa.
How did that get in here? That picture doesn't even make sense.
Dorothy, if my mom finds out we were running around with Ozonium, she'll never let me out of the house again.
Why? What does she have against Ozonium? It's the rarest magic in Oz.
Obviously, she doesn't think I'm ready for that yet.
You're not.
- So, who took the picture? - Maybe the dog did.
[bark.]
Who cares? We need to tear it out.
It's the journal.
Just like it recorded your mom's experiences, now it's recording yours.
I mean, obviously, right? That's how journals work.
It also transported you through time and space on a tornado.
Don't think about it too much.
[growling.]
- [growl.]
Huh? - Dorothy: Come on, Toto.
[growling, barking.]
[cheering.]
Citizens of Emerald City, today we celebrate the return of our watchful protector.
All: [chanting.]
Look Out! Look Out! Look Out! Look Out! Now, I might be made of brick, but I'll take a flesh and blood look out over a stone statue - any day of the week.
Am I right? - [cheering.]
The only question left is who do we have to thank for bringing the big guy back to life? Well, big guy, can you show us? [murmuring.]
[grunting.]
He just saw us.
I saw him see us.
Why doesn't he just point us out? [grunting.]
[crowd gasping.]
[gasping.]
[panting.]
Huh? Eh [microphone feedback.]
Mm-mm.
Eh [clears throat.]
The Look Out is sad, ladies and gentlemen.
The Look Out is disappointed.
The citizen responsible for his awakening is not among us.
- I'm right here! - Who said that? - [gasping.]
- Come closer so we can all see you.
No? My, uh, boss, Glinda the Good, would like to personally shake your hand.
- Dorothy: It was me! - All: It was me! - [door opens.]
- Huh? Oh, come on! It was me and I can prove it.
You woke the Look Out.
With the help of my friends.
Pugmill: You, Dorothy Gale from Kansas.
Dorothy: Here, let me show you.
If you woke the Look Out, then you're under arrest.
- For what? - Well, let's start with theft of very powerful magic, trespassing on a public monument, destruction of civic property, and, don't forget, the wasting of my time! You said Glinda wanted to personally shake my hand.
Yeah, yours and all the other crackpots claiming responsibility.
[gasping.]
Tell me about it, everyone and their mother.
- No, it's Fitz.
- Where? Does he have my concrete? I'm dying of thirst.
You mean he still works here? He's the one you should arrest.
Who, Fitz? Arrest him for what? Did I say arrest? I meant promote.
Promote Fitz to agent at once! What are you, nuts? Yes, I am.
Nuts for Fitz.
[gasp.]
Yow! - [grunting.]
- What are you doing? - [gasping.]
- Yah! [grunting.]
- Whoa! - Hey, cut it out! That's government property.
I think his talent is bar none.
One of a kind.
A genius, genius G-g-g-genius in his field.
Ooh.
Fitz is the one stealing all the Best creamer from the break room, so your concrete's extra smooth.
[Toto barking.]
[grunting.]
What did you do to the Look Out? [grunting.]
[barking.]
- [grunting.]
- [barking, growling.]
- [grunting.]
- Whoa! [grunting.]
Cease! Desist! Heel! - Whoa! - [grunting.]
- Oh! Sorry.
- Okay, that's enough! Everybody out! Um, everything okay in here, boss? Finally! [grunting.]
[gasping.]
Ugh! That Dorothy.
Poor kid.
She's way out of her element.
This city is gonna chew her right up.
Agreed, sir.
She's doomed.
Which is why I want you to keep an eye on her.
Make sure she doesn't cause any more trouble.
Oh, it would be my absolute pleasure.
Thank you, sir.
And, uh, while you're at it, top me off.
No! Oh! I am your humble servant.
Next! - [electricity crackling.]
- [drill whirring.]
Ahh.
[grunting.]
[hammering.]
[wheezing.]
Your secret lair could use an elevator.
I get enough exercise livin' a double life.
Hello! Come on.
Time to go to work.
- [slurping.]
- [grunting.]
Ugh.
Huh? Monkeys! [beeping.]
The witch, the munchkin, and the Dorothy and that dog, they know too much.
Make them forget I exist! Make them forget everything they've ever known! [evil laugh.]
- Fitz is more powerful than I thought.
- If I can just show Pugmill the picture of me waking the Look Out, then he'll believe me.
No, Dorothy, it's too dangerous.
- We need to lay low.
- Fitz is not gonna let this slide.
He just saw us try to blow his cover.
But it's my only shot at meeting Glinda.
How else am I supposed to get home? [barking.]
Man: What is up in the sky? [screaming.]
- Man: Run! Run! - [screaming.]
[grunting.]
[panting.]
"Acts of Love" is by far the Tin Man's best movie.
Disagree.
He's a robot.
A romantic lead with no heart.
[grunting.]
- What were we just arguing about? - No idea.
Water balloons of oblivion? Those haven't been around in years.
That's why the Look Out didn't point us out.
He couldn't point us out because he couldn't remember us.
Fitz is wiping witness memories.
- Ahh! - Ohh! - [grunting.]
- [barking.]
- [gasping.]
- [grunting.]
West, look out! - [grunting.]
- Hey! [growling.]
- [gasping.]
My backpack! - [evil laugh.]
Ohh! [gasping.]
Ahh! Wait! You still have my backpack! [barking.]
[panting.]
- Whoa! - Ahh! [panting.]
Dorothy, stop! He's headed for the Night Market.
The Night Market? [gasping.]
A kid from class came here once.
We never saw him again.
Oh, poor Tiff.
I heard they found his shoes.
With his socks still inside.
[grunting.]
[groaning.]
[barking.]
- Stop! - Let me go! Dorothy, seriously, off limits.
- Says who? - My mom! She forbid me from ever going anywhere near here.
But Toto's in there, my journal's in there, and I'm not going home without them.
Don't look at anything, don't touch anything.
And remember, all the magic is fake.
Let's find them and get outta here.
Ojo: Dorothy! Toto! Toto.
- [squeaking.]
- Welcome! Toto! Toto, where'd you go? - [gasping.]
- Oh, you looking for Toto? - Uh, yeah.
- Oh, well, me and Toto go way back.
- Not the same Toto.
- Why, sure it is.
Toto, right? Tall, short, slimy, furry, old, young, smart, dumb.
[blows horn.]
Everybody around here knows Toto.
He's one of my bestest customers.
Pretty sure he'd want you to check out my current inventory.
Bonsai bread tree? Magic carpet swatch? Shrinking powder? Oh, come on, whaddaya say? Toto! [sniffing.]
[barking.]
[barking.]
[yelp.]
Toto, where'd you go? [whimpering.]
Toto? [panting, grunting.]
You think that's funny? Toto, don't run off like that.
We need to stick together.
You okay? [barking.]
Portable Portals.
"Powered with genuine-ish dark matter"? "Go from here to there in no time at all.
" Oh, Toto, these portals can take us anywhere.
- Maybe even home.
- [barking.]
"Portal travel only works within Emerald City limits.
" - [whimpering.]
- Ojo: Where could they be? [indistinct chatter.]
Man: See your future.
Will you be a best witch in Emerald City? Woman: Go back in time.
Meet your ancestors.
Man: Kissing charms.
Buy two, get one free.
Both: No thanks.
- No thanks, right? - West: Eww.
Dorothy: We're never getting home if we don't find that journal.
Where could he be? Anybody seen a lion? He's about this big, sometimes visible, - sometimes not.
- Uh-uh.
[barking.]
[shouting.]
Stop! Thief! All: [gasping.]
Him! No, please.
I can explain.
[gasping.]
Monkeys.
Come on, come on! - [shouting.]
- [gasping.]
- [barking.]
- Please, you don't understand.
I [gasping, screaming.]
[screaming.]
Look out! My apologies.
Whoa! Sorry! Comin' through! [grunting.]
[panting, grunting.]
Batteries.
I need batteries.
- Hey! - I can see how this looks.
Thief! But I promise I'll pay you back! - Give me my pack back! - [bark.]
Backpack back! He knows what I mean.
Our journal's in there, Toto.
[panting.]
[grunting.]
[barking.]
[grunting.]
Whoa! Who-o-o-o-a! Ah! Ahh! [thudding.]
- [sighing, yelp.]
- Drop the backpack.
- It belongs to me.
- [barking.]
There's been a mistake.
I'm not a thief.
Technically, you kind of are.
There's a reason for everything.
Wait! [barking, growling.]
Dorothy, Dorothy, Dorothy.
For once, you're making my life easier.
I mean, the Night Market? Really? These are my people.
- [whimpering.]
- You know, Dorothy, in the short time you've been here, you've gone places you shouldn't have gone.
And seen things you shouldn't have seen.
Which means you've made memories you never should have made.
So now, I gotta wipe that memory clean.
If Dorothy loses her memory, she'll never get home.
And I'll be stuck with a roommate forever.
You know, Fitz, in the short time I've been here, I have made a lot of new memories, but the only one I want to forget is you.
It's kind of an all or nothing deal.
Yah! [grunting.]
Whoa.
Did you hear what I said? You're not erasing my memories.
Wait, I think she's got this.
More balloons.
I need more balloons! [grunting.]
[barking.]
- [groaning.]
- [blows raspberry.]
- Yeow.
- [grunting.]
[grunting.]
What the Don't just Stand there.
Monkeys.
Finish.
The job.
[electronic blips.]
It would be an honor to assist you, oh, great one.
My liege? What do you prefer? - [barking.]
- Original.
Dorothy! Wait! Someone.
Please.
Make.
It.
Stop.
No problem.
[barking.]
[gasping.]
Ahh! [grunting.]
- What are you so afraid of? - Uh, sudden moves, unexpected arrivals, swinging monkeys, you name it.
But enough about my issues.
You're here.
How'd you find me? Never underestimate the power of a dog's nose.
[barking.]
Just as I suspected.
Olfactory powers, too.
You really are a great sorcerer.
If that dog's a great sorcerer, then I'm Glinda the Good.
Sorry, not possible.
Shape shifting's not Glinda's MO.
Come in, honored guest and cynical friends.
- Whoa.
- Huh.
[stammers.]
I never meant to run.
Or steal your assistant's backpack.
At first, I was just observing, looking for a way to make contact.
I don't meet people well, let alone a savior from another dimension.
Look, uh Ray.
Oh My name's Ray.
Sorry, I I should have mentioned that.
And you're Dorothy, you're Ojo, you're West, and the great one is Arf.
Am I pronouncing that correctly? No.
His name's Toto.
Toto.
Hm.
Is that short for something? Totonimous Awesomus.
Or Totally Virtuoso.
- Toto's a dog.
- Yeah, but, like I'm a lion.
- We're animals plus.
- Nope.
Just a dog.
I would know.
He's my best friend.
Oh, yeah No.
Oh, yeah, no, I I get it.
[chuckles.]
I mean, knowing what I know about the magic crisis, you can never be too sure who might be listening in.
Why? What do you know about the magic crisis? What do I know? Only everything.
See? West: Glinda.
Glinda looks exactly the same here as she did in the picture with our moms.
Oh, no! The water of oblivion.
It ruined my journal.
Now I'll never be able to prove it to Agent Pugmill.
- Prove what to Pugmill? - That I woke the Look Out, so he'll introduce me to Glinda.
He can't introduce you to Glinda.
He doesn't even know where she is.
No one does.
But, Dorothy, look.
He's got Glinda's stuff all over the place.
There's got to be clues here, right? - I mean, it can't all be nonsense.
- I heard that.
Making sense of this is going to be impossible.
Well, it's worth a shot.
Oh, please! I was lying! You got to believe me.
So you didn't wake the Lookout.
Oh, I wish I had that kind of magic.
Then how do you explain this? I'd say it puts you at the Yellow Brick Line on the same night the Lookout was brought back to life.
No, no, no.
You got it all wrong.
I gave that echo jar to a couple of tourists.
A girl and her dog.
[whispering.]
She's the one you're after.
She's the one you're after.
She's the one you're after.
Wait.
You've got Dorothy and Toto on your insane conspiracy theory wall? - They're kind of like the stars of it.
- "Conspiracy theory" brings up so many negative connotations.
I prefer to call it my Magic Crisis evidence collage, which proves everything is interconnected and out to get us all.
Uhh.
And of course Toto and Dorothy are here.
They're here to save us.
And just like that, poof, your credibility has disappeared.
Reigh, sweetie pie, I'm doing a load of light.
How are you on undies? I've given them up, but thanks, Mom! Who exactly do you think we are? Great wizards from another dimension here to end the Magic Crisis and usher in a new golden age of Oz.
He's the brains, you're the muscle.
And I am your humble servant.
[ruff.]
Heh heh.
All hail Dorothy and Toto.
Great sorcerers from Kansas.
But they're not magic.
They can't be sorcerers.
- No offense.
- None taken.
Not magic? [cough.]
Look at the facts, man.
Dorothy and Toto flew a house into Emerald City on a magic tornado.
They used ozonium to wake up the Lookout.
They trapped the Crooked Magician and the Winged Monkeys in an infinite portal loop, inspired the Phanfasms to lay down their wands - and sign the Growleywog Peace Accord.
- Wait.
We didn't do that.
Yes, you did.
Phanfasm President First and Foremost is one of the statues you brought back to life.
You liberated him, and he signed the treaty.
And now you're here in my room.
[gasp.]
This is, like, the most magical thing - that's ever happened to me.
- Dude, you need to get out more.
Let's not forget that I was in the train station, too.
I think any notable witchcraft should be attributed to the actual witch in this crew.
What is that? Uh - So we're a crew now? - You wish.
Hey, careful with that.
It took me a lot of time to - I mean - You guys have been telling me that Glinda is impossible to find.
That sure looks like Glinda to me.
Don't even get me started on Glinda.
Why? What do you know? Oh, not much.
Only that Glinda is at the heart of the Magic Crisis and flying around the city inside her castle filled with more magic than she could use in her entire lifetime.
You got him started on Glinda.
Glinda flies her castle around the city? And it's filled with magic? When's her next appearance? Where's it gonna be? We have to get there.
These are all from before, when Glinda used to make totally random photo ops, grace us regular Ozians with a second of her time, and now she doesn't bother showing her face at all.
She's completely fallen off the map.
A map.
That's it.
If we can map out where Glinda's been, maybe we can figure out where she's going next.
I think you missed the point of my rant there.
Can someone talk some sense into her? - Nope.
- Not a chance.
- [ruff.]
- Nothing's totally random.
There's got to be a pattern here.
We need to find the exact location of each sighting, plot them on a map, and they'll show us the pattern.
They'll show us the way to Glinda.
I got one.
Right there.
The Fish Face Fountain matches.
Mark it down, Ojo.
On Glanduary? On Glandjuary 14, Glinda was spotted above New Winkie Town.
That's one down and 136 to go.
See? We can do this.
Uhh.
[ding.]
Dorothy: Little Utensia.
Glinda was here.
But she's gone now.
If I was behind the Magic Crisis, I'd hide, too.
You kind of hide as it is.
So once we crack the pattern, we'll be able to predict the time and location of Glinda's next appearance and get inside her flying castle - before it vanishes again.
- And finally expose Glinda for the elitist, opportunistic magic thief she really is.
- Who's with me? - [ruff.]
- [yawn.]
- Uhh.
We're finally getting somewhere.
We got ourselves a plan.
- [sigh.]
- Oh.
Reigh: Yeah, that even looks crazy to me.
[sigh.]
That's it.
I'm out.
This isn't going anywhere.
Wait a second.
If we line up the New Winkie Town sighting with the last Dunkatin Grove report - She's right, Dorothy.
It's late.
- And we've got school tomorrow.
I have school tomorrow, too, you know, in Kansas.
We got to Emerald City on our own, Toto.
- We'll get home on our own, too.
- [ruff ruff.]
That's strange.
The Lookout is in different spots in different pictures.
How did a giant statue move across the city? - [yawn.]
- I know there's a pattern here.
We just need some way to see the bigger picture.
[barking.]
If I had Grandpa's surveying scope back home, - maybe I could - [ruff.]
[ruff ruff.]
[ruff.]
Toto, our home is in Kansas, but our house is at the airport.
[grunt.]
Just [grunt.]
Uhh.
Dorothy.
- Huh? - Hmm? [squeak.]
Surveying scope.
Surveying scope.
It's got to be here.
Hey, Mom [sobbing.]
[whimpering.]
I want to go home.
[clatter.]
What exactly are you? Feathosphorus? Levitational magic? Whoa.
Uhh Oh! Hey! West? No! [sigh.]
Haven't we seen each other enough for one day? Look, I'm worried about Dorothy.
I don't feel right about the way we left things.
You and I are the only friends she's got here.
We need to What's that? Nothing.
You were saying that you're an insensitive friend? Please, go on.
Uh - You stole that magic from the train! - It was already stolen.
Dorothy needs that more than you do.
She needs magic to get home.
We all need magic for something, Ojo.
[sobbing.]
[ruff.]
Thanks, Toto.
Hmm.
Mom: Dorothy! Come outside! You've got to see this.
Mom, where did the moon go? It's a lunar eclipse.
As we spin around the sun, the moon spins around us.
And every once in a while, the pattern lines up just right.
So the moon is still there, even if you can't see it.
- I don't get it.
- Close your eyes.
Now where am I? I'm right here, too, Dorothy, even if you can't see me.
Honk.
[both giggling.]
[whistling.]
All right, Toto! Let's go, boy! Hey, you guys found me.
Not many mid-century ranch houses on the tarmac.
You didn't think I'd let you find Glinda on your own, did you? We're sorry we left you.
My magic collection.
I want you to have it.
It's not much, but it's the real thing.
I even have a piece of lardonium.
I mean, you have a piece of lardonium.
That's hypergravitational magic.
Wow.
Thanks, Ojo.
West, anything you'd like to add? Ehh, strange place you got here.
I'm happy to see you, too, West.
I think I'm on to something, and I'm gonna need your help, both of you.
I know the pattern is there, even if we can't see it.
Check this out.
On this map, Lookout Plaza is here on 135th and Track, right? But on the map in my book, it's over here on Track and 90th.
Reigh, in all your Glinda sighting data, is the Plaza ever in the same place twice? Nope.
Different spot each time.
Mm-hmm.
That's what I thought.
So the Plaza used to move.
Big deal.
I could have told you that.
It's a huge deal.
I think the movement of Glinda's castle is directly related to the movement of the Plaza.
Ojo, help me out.
I think it works just like this drawing kit.
You're the track.
I'm the Plaza.
Hold this steady.
- It's awesome.
- It's beautiful.
It's genius! You're a magical genius.
It's not magic.
It's mechanical, and I'm pretty good with machines.
One question.
The castle is still invisible.
This tells us where it's going, but how do we know when it gets there? Oh, you guys, look.
If we follow Dorothy's pattern, Glinda's castle shows up every Six and a third turns.
It's predictable.
But it only works when the Plaza is moving.
So we'll find Glinda if we can find a stuck enormous city plaza.
Exactly.
The Plaza is directly above us.
We have to get into those gears to see how they move.
Uh, oh, no.
- Aah! Don't drop me! - Gotcha.
I don't like heights.
I don't like tight spaces.
I don't like anything about this situation! Looks like these gears haven't turned in forever.
- Not since the Plaza stopped moving.
We have to find the engine.
What's strong enough to power these giant gears? It looks like those big beveled gears somehow connect way up there.
I want to see what's up at the top.
- Uhh! - [ruff.]
Aah! Toto, be careful.
[ruff.]
[panting.]
No, no, no.
A kiss of encouragement.
Toto believes in me.
You can do this, Reigh.
Mind over matter.
Mind over ridiculously terrifying matter.
Yaah! I did it! Did you see that? I totally overcame my fear of Aah! Heights.
- [ruff.]
- Don't look at me.
- It's a free wheel.
- It's a fear wheel.
This gear above us drops down to connect with the free wheel, and that moves the drive train It's like a giant version of the clutch in my mom's station wagon.
Whatever is directly above us must be the engine.
- [panting.]
- The Ferris wheel.
The Ferris wheel is the engine.
Oh, that is so cool.
So if we can start the Ferris wheel, we move the Plaza.
If we move the Plaza, we reveal the castle.
If we reveal the castle, we find Glinda.
And I thought the lion was crazy.
It sounds insane, but it makes sense.
The Ferris wheel shot down the same day the Plaza stopped moving.
That's right, when Glinda declared mandatory rations on recreational magic.
It's all connected, man.
Yeah, well, it's not connected yet.
We have to get this wheel to turn.
Guys, this thing runs on magic.
Levitational magic, to be exact.
Pretty hard to come by.
If only someone we knew had a little feathosphorus in their possession, some close friend.
I'm not that close.
I mean, what would be the chances that someone we know personally has the very magic we need? And not even something she worked for.
Just something she had absolutely no right to take yet still somehow has on her.
Who, West? All right! Fine! Take over my bedroom! Take over my magic! Take over my life! Oh, that's so sweet, in your Westy kind of way.
[whining.]
Toto, drop it.
- West, you sure? - No.
Yes.
Take it.
- Thank you, seriously.
- This better work, Munchkin.
Guys, only magically trained personnel should operate machinery.
- Me? - [ruff ruff.]
No way.
I've never driven anything like this.
- There's no way.
- None of us have the same command of magic that you have.
What are you talking about? You're an encyclopedia of magic.
I'm merely an aficionado.
You're a practitioner.
It's got to be you.
Guys, we're all fantastic.
Now can someone please give it a shot? [sigh.]
Yes.
Huh? No, no.
Oh.
Oh.
No.
West? This isn't some little classroom experiment.
I told you.
I can't do this.
You totally can.
You got this.
Just ease into it.
[exhale.]
That's it.
Slow.
You're doing great.
Easy does it.
Yeah! What It's working.
You got it, West.
Huh? [shouting.]
Ha! Good with machines.
Dorothy, you are a genius! - Keep going, West! - [ruff ruff.]
Oh, my Glinda.
Glinda! We need to get to higher ground fast.
Wait! Safety first! All right, Toto, we have to jump on.
Stay with me.
1, 2 Wait.
West, slow it down.
I can't! I I can't stop! Good.
Don't.
We can't risk stalling out again.
- Ready? - [ruff.]
Wait.
It's moving too fast.
Use the lardonium.
Its gravitational field will pull you in.
[gasp.]
It's only enough to last a couple minutes.
We only have a couple seconds.
Hurry, Ojo.
The castle is coming.
Got it! Go! Go! - Aah! - [Toto howling.]
Whoa! Toto, I think we're going to make it! [engine running.]
Fitz.
Ha ha ha! Beautiful night for a ride of amusement, eh, Dorothy? Monkeys, fly! Toto, we're stuck! The lardonium has our feet glued down.
- Whoa! - [howling.]
Ohh! Monkeys, practice round is over! This time, we take the tourists out! [gasp.]
The hat controls the monkeys! Get them back down here! Whoa! Hey.
I admire a fighter who goes down swinging.
Then you're gonna love us.
Here we go, Toto.
Just like playing catch in the park.
You got this, Toto! Yes! Nice grab, Toto! Aah! You missed them! What's the matter with you monkeys? Turn around! [grunt.]
Lose something? Aah! Oh, whatever.
It's just a hat.
I'm still your boss.
Now fly! Fly! W-W-Wait.
Aah! [grunting.]
Clean yourself up, Futz.
You work for the Bureau, for crying out loud.
- [laughing.]
- [ruff ruff.]
Toto! You moved your paw! The hypergravitational field is disappearing! And so in Glinda's castle! Whoa! Toto! Whoa! Monkeys, fly! Huh? Ruh.
Aah! Go, Dorothy! Ha! Still think they're not magic? Ha! The magic's almost gone! Hurry, Dorothy! Giddy up! Hyah! This is it, Toto.
All the magic we need is inside that castle.
Glinda! - Yes! - She's in! Toto, we made it.
We're going home.
[ruff ruff.]
Aah! - Hi, there.
- [gasp.]
It's me.
Scarecrow.
Uh Wonderful to see you again! Again?
Again?
