alone to the park near your home.
You don't remember where your home is
or what it looked like.
You remember a story about a girl
whose shadow was stolen
and the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty.
You remember your mother used to say
that if you didn't brush your teeth,
they would fall out.
[spits]

You remember that, as a child,
you didn't want to wear dresses
and that under no circumstance
would you perform publicly.

although you can't remember

in the Second Chance amnesia clinic.

that happens with things
that are happening now.
