Sea Patrol (2007) s01e01 Episode Script
Welcome Aboard
Fishing vessel on my port bow, this is an Australian warship.
Stop or heave to or I will fire upon you.
XO, one round only, Gunner, action.
Instant.
One round only, Engage! (Fires single shot) Vessel not stopping, sir.
XO, one short burst, Gunner, one short burst, Engage.
(Fires repeatedly) (Men speak Asian language) Foreign fishing vessel is slowing, sir.
Slow ahead, both engines.
Slow ahead, both engines.
Clear.
Clear.
Clear.
Clear.
Clear.
Clear.
Slew outboard.
Down on one.
Holster.
Check primaries and secondaries.
Do us a favour, mate.
Don't throw up in the RHIB on your first day.
Ease off, Jaff - you've only been at sea half a dog watch yourself.
Well, four weeks is a long time in the navy.
Seasick pills.
He's yanking your chain, mate.
They don't work.
Thanks, Jaff.
It's my first day on a patrol boat too.
So we'll do this together, hey? We'll do it well.
Let's go.
What is that foul smell? Trochus shell, ma'am.
They rot out the fish to get at the shell.
Stop there.
Stop there, sir.
I've got some seasick pills here, man.
Told you they didn't work.
Buffer, find me the master, please.
Master? Who is the master of this vessel? Are you the master, sir? Are you the master of this vessel? OK, Buffer, get the others for'd.
Sir.
Sir.
Back, sir.
Check the paperwork.
Move back.
Are you aware you are illegally fishing in Australia's Economic Exclusion Zone? Where have you come from? Where have? Buffer! Ma'am? (Retches) (Kate over radio) Charlie 2, this is X-ray 2.
Over.
This is Charlie 2.
This is X-ray 2.
Master of vessel denies knowing they're in our EEZ.
A full load of trochus on board.
Recommend apprehension and tow back to base.
Over.
(Over radio) NAVCOM has agreed, X.
Leave two of our guys on the FFV as a steaming party.
Charlie 2 out.
Buffer? Two men to stay on board.
ET.
Jaffah.
Good experience for him, ma'am.
Yeah, well, four weeks is a long time in the navy, I guess.
X? Sir.
Just finished unpacking.
Great.
We don't dress for dinner on patrol boats.
Oh, I'm sorry.
I didn't know.
Talk with the navigator.
She'll get you up to speed on our little ways.
I'm sure I'll pick these things up as I go along, sir.
Uh, look, Kate.
I haven't had a chance to talk with you privately since you joined us.
No.
When we last met, on the course, I never expected we'd end up on the same ship - you being a big ship sort of person and me being wedded to patrol boats.
Yes, you're right.
I am a big ship sort of person.
Well, 'Hammersley' has just only got six months left in her, so As for anything else that may have happened between us, I'm sure two professionals can work together.
Sir? Yes.
I'm sure.
Seaman Webb? Stay where you are.
How are you feeling? Um, fine, sir.
That's interesting.
You look like death warmed up.
That's actually how I feel, sir.
First time away from home? Yeah.
I know how it feels.
Lying in this same rack, thinking about Mum's roast dinners.
This was once your rack, was it, sir? Carved my initials there somewhere.
I understand you did very well today on your first boarding party.
Yeah.
Keep it up.
Thank you, sir.
ET: There ever any trouble with these blokes? JAFFAH: Now, you'd be referring to that petty officer that got eaten.
Yeah.
(Sharply) Hey! Sit down.
Hey, hey.
Easy, mate.
He's only taking a leak.
Looks like you could use one yourself.
Turn my back on that lot? No way.
(ENGINES CHUG) Revolutions 320.
Revolutions 320.
Run then repeated, ma'am.
Very good.
You know, if you go that way through the channel, you'll find that it's, um It's just a suggestion.
Well, I'll be in the wardroom updating the operations plan.
Oh, Nav, when you get a sec, will you move your things to the top rack? Seniority.
Better rack.
Right.
Come on up, Charge.
I'm just leaving.
Ma'am.
You've got the ship? I have.
We're currently doing six knots, so I'd like to take down the port engine for some maintenance.
Sure.
Why not? Go right ahead.
Aye, ma'am.
Word is you haven't been saluting the ship's mascot.
I'm supposed to salute it? Who is he? It's Thor - the thunder god.
Oh, my mum wouldn't like me saluting him, then.
We're Presbyterian.
Oh.
Well, if you don't, you're gonna bring bad luck onto the ship.
I don't think your mum would want that, would she? Yeah, that's much better.
Now, as the ship's most recent member, you gotta do that every time you come on board.
NAV OVER P.
A: Commanding officer requested, Bridge.
A signal in from NAVCOM, sir.
Medical emergency on Bright Island.
Uh, currently 70 miles away.
It's a marine biologist, Dr Lisa Holmes.
She set off an emergency beacon.
She was talking on her satellite phone to NAVCOM when communication ceased.
Sat phone broke down? Well, it seems not, sir.
They can still hear her breathing.
They believe she's unconscious.
OK.
We'll break off towing the FFV.
They can follow us under their own steam.
Sir, are we leaving our two men aboard? FFV's sound.
We won't be far away.
MCR, Bridge.
Start port main engine in MCR control.
Bridge, port engine's still down.
She'll be good to go in about 30 minutes.
Who the hell gave you permission to take that engine down? KATE: It's OK, Charge.
I'll deal with it.
What is it I don't know, X? Charge asked permission to take down the port engine.
And since we were towing and only doing six knots You thought you could give permission without consulting me? Get that engine back on line ASAP, Charge.
We've got a medical emergency on Bright Island.
Nav, take the ship.
X, we need to talk.
Now.
You were asleep! Where my ship's concerned, I am never asleep.
We were to be towing all the way to base.
And now we're not.
No-one could've predicted that.
Good planning means being able to deal with the unpredictable.
It's basic to the running of the vessel.
It's about teamwork.
It's about consultation.
It's about not taking over my ship.
Teamwork, but it's YOUR ship? Damn right it's my ship - my responsibility.
And teamwork's there to achieve that result.
Very good, sir.
Excuse me.
(Slams door) (Sighs) (INDISTINCT P.
A.
ANNOUNCEMENT) MAN ON RADIO: Sierra 2, this is Charlie 2.
Over.
This is Sierra 2.
Over.
Follow us to Bright Island and we'll pick up the tow again once this medical emergency's dealt with.
Over.
This is Sierra 2, confirming we're following 'Hammersley' to Bright Island.
Over.
Maintain one-hourly sched.
We'll see you later.
Out.
How often does this happen? Oh, makes for a bit of a change, don't you think? (PHONE RINGS) 'Hammersley' Lieutenant Commander Flynn.
Lieutenant Smith, NAVCOM, sir.
Commander Marshall wants a word with you.
Mike.
Are you at Bright Island yet? We had certain operational difficulties, sir.
We should be there at 1300.
Operational difficulties? Something I need to address? No, sir.
All sorted this end.
Alright.
Keep me posted.
Yes, sir.
Operational difficulties - ETA 1300.
Operational difficulties, aka 'balls-up' He does have a bit of a cowboy reputation, right? Oh, he gets things done his way.
Sir, I feel that My ship, my responsibility, X.
Thank you.
Let's just hope we get to Bright Island in time.
RO, set up a sat-phone link with the doctor at base hospital.
Yes, sir.
Way things are going today, we might need it.
Bright Island? People die there.
The locals won't go near it - say it's taboo.
Tell him about the Japanese, mate.
They had a post there in World War II.
When the navy came to collect 'em and tell 'em the war was over, the last five were raving mad, saying the place was cursed.
(imitates pirate) Nar! People do say there be demons there.
You can joke all you like.
No good's ever come out of the place.
Your average Jack Tar's a very superstitious animal.
Don't listen to him, Spider.
Oh, my name's Billy.
Billy Webb.
Yeah, that's right.
'Spider' Webb.
No, I had that all through school.
I joined the navy to get away from it all.
Good luck with that, Spider.
NAV OVER P.
A: Hear there, the following personnel have been nominated for shore party and are to muster at the armoury for issue of equipment - XO, Buffer, Swain, Chefo, Seaman Webb.
That's all.
(Sighs) Alright, that's it.
Galley's closed.
I'm off to save the world, mate.
OK, listen up.
Civilian marine biologist, a Dr Lisa Holmes, is working alone - broke off partway through a sat-phone call.
Let's move it.
Spider, take these smokes.
Don't give 'em back to me, no matter what I say.
You giving up again, are you, Buffer? Looks that way, Chefo.
Sit down there, Spider.
OK.
Able, you stay with the tinnie.
We're gonna do two search teams, one medic each.
Team Alpha - Swain with me - that way.
Team Bravo - Buffer, Chefo, Seaman Webb - that way.
Marine research - she'll be camped on the beach.
Let's go.
Chefo, take the beach, look for signs of a recent landing.
Spider, with me.
(Spits) Got to admit she's effective.
Oh, she's always been effective.
I'm agreeing - she's effective.
Yeah.
And on a big ship, where you're not all joined at the hip, do you think she'll fit in? Did you two have a problem at HMAS 'Watson' She ran a short course I was in - Intermediate Navigation.
And? She was a hard taskmaster.
(SWAIN SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY THROUGH RADIO INTERFERENCE) KATE ON RADIO: Move inland Swain and join me.
Over.
X-ray 2, this is Charlie 2.
I'm not receiving.
Over.
Chefo.
KATE: This is X-ray 2.
Team Bravo, I've found her.
Swain! (Gasps) (Distorted) Charlie 2 X-ray 2.
I've found her.
Over.
X-ray 2, this is Charlie 2.
(Distorted) I'm not receiving you.
Over.
You're breaking up.
Say again.
Over.
(MIKE SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY THROUGH RADIO INTERFERENCE) (Lisa gasps for breath) Lisa, can you tell us what happened? OK, can you squeeze my hand? What about your toes? Try wiggling them for us.
It's alright.
We're going to take care of you, OK? Um, we could have a spinal injury here.
So we can't just take her back to the ship? No, ma'am, we don't dare move her.
We need a doctor on the radio, find out what to do.
Charlie 2, this is X-ray 2.
Over.
(MIKE SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY THROUGH RADIO INTERFERENCE) Oh, great.
Team Bravo, this is X-ray 2.
Over.
X-ray 2, this is Bravo 2.
Over.
We're in a dead spot for the ship.
Send Chefo to us and you and Seaman Webb find high ground.
Roger that, X-ray 2.
Chefo, you heard that? Spider.
Spider! Come on.
Coming.
Charlie 2, this is Bravo 2.
Over.
MIKE: This is Charlie 2, loud and clear.
This is Bravo 2.
Request you raise base by sat phone.
We need to talk to a doctor immediately.
Over.
(Vomits) Roger.
Charlie 2 out.
Walk it off.
MIKE ON RADIO: Dr Poulos, are you online? The patient can't move her limbs and is having trouble breathing.
We're reluctant to move her.
What do you advise? Dr Poulos wants a nose-to-toes examination - any sign of a spider bite or a snake bite.
Tell him she's in crisis.
Team Bravo, this is X-ray 2.
Over.
BUFFER: This is Bravo 2.
Patient appears to be paralysed.
She's having trouble breathing.
We could lose her.
Over.
(Breathes heavily) Can I help you there, mate? Oooh.
Not every day we get a visit from the navy, eh, Sam? Not every day, Carl, no.
(Chuckles) Seaman Bosun's Mate Webb.
How are you going? There's a medical emergency.
A woman scientist.
Oh, she'd be the one camping down near the beach there? Yeah, that's the one.
And she's in trouble? Oh, everything's under control now.
CARL: Ah, good.
He's wondering what we're doing here, Sam.
Mate, we're in the fishing business.
Specialty crustacean for fish markets and quality restaurants.
Go on! Really? Yeah.
Cool.
Is there any money in it? Making a motser, mate.
(Chuckles) You, uh, care to buy a bag? Yeah, alright.
Yeah? Er Ciggies? Done, mate.
Awesome.
Cheers, guys.
What do they call you? Uh, Spider.
Spider, eh? I'm Carl.
Carl.
This is Sam.
Sam.
(Man speaks Asian language) Charlie 2, this is Sierra 2.
Over.
(Speaks frantically in Asian language) Charlie 2, this is Sierra 2.
Over.
I can't understand you.
Do you know what he's trying to say? (Speaks Asian language) He's probably not too stoked about going to Bright Island, on account of the curse.
Oh, don't you start.
Charlie 2, this is Sierra 2.
Nothing heard.
Out.
We're out of contact, aren't we? Oh, these things need line-of-sight at the best of times.
Yeah.
All we need.
Don't worry, mate.
It's probably just the curse of Bright Island.
(imitates pirate) Arr! We're all doomed.
You're really enjoying this, aren't you? (Pirate voice) Yes.
Yes! BUFFER: Sir, they reckon she's getting worse.
Her neck's swelling up and she's gasping for air.
Roger.
Dr Poulos, is there anything they can do for her breathing? Swain, Dr Poulos says you need to get air into her lungs and for that she needs an emergency tracheo tracheotom tracheostomy.
Swain? Swain, are you still there? Yeah, I'm still here.
I've just never done one of those.
Well, you've got to do one now or we could lose her.
I'm going to talk you through it, mate.
OK.
Roger.
I've got to give her a tracheostomy.
Is that the cutting-the-throat-open thing? (Gasps for air) Lisa, we've got a doctor online and he's gonna be talking us through it, OK? OK, you're gonna need a scalpel or a very sharp knife.
Onya.
We got a scalpel.
After you make the incision, you're gonna need to insert a tube.
He's asking whether or not there's something called a trache tube in the first-aid kit.
No.
Are you sure? Ma'am, I check those kits every time we go to sea and I've never even heard of a trache tube.
What's a trache tube? It's any thin piece of tubing.
Chefo, check her gear.
Maybe there's something there we can cannibalise.
Anything, mate, OK? We're running out of time.
MIKE: What's happening, Buffer? They're still looking for a tube, sir.
Tell X she's got a pistol.
Use it.
You want him to shoot her? Tell X to break down her Browning, remove the 9-millimetre barrel, use it as a tube - over.
Got it.
(Chuckles) "Shoot her!" Well, that's one way of ending a crisis.
OK, got it, Buffer.
Can you take the radio? Go ahead.
OK, the doc says you're looking for an indentation just below where the Adam's apple would be on a bloke.
(Gasps for breath) Yeah, OK.
Got it.
OK, got it.
Right, you need to make a one-centimetre horizontal incision about one centimetre deep.
(Pants fearfully) Just do it, mate.
Think like you're filleting a fish.
(Grunts) OK.
OK.
Alright, pinch the incision to open it.
Insert the tube half an inch to an inch deep.
(Gasps hoarsely) (Wheezes) OK.
Charlie 2, this is Bravo 2.
Patient's breathing again.
We're leaving the ridge now to transport her back to the 'Hammersley' Roger.
Well done, Buff.
Out.
Where have you been? Shopping or what? Oh, I ran into some fishermen.
Scored some crabs for Chefo.
Nice work.
Come on, let's go.
(Both speak Asian language) (Speaks Asian language) What's all that about? Oh, he just said he was hungry and you look delicious.
I could do with some scran myself.
Where the hell's 'Hammersley' They might have forgotten about you, Jaff.
But there's no way they're not coming back for me.
You reckon the X and Nav both want your body, don't you? Oh, that'd be the natural order of things, yeah.
(Laughs) Hey.
Look, they gotta eat, but I want you to keep an eye on 'em.
You right? Yep.
OK, let's lower her down now.
Just be really careful with her neck, guys.
We haven't ruled out spinal.
I'm really sorry, ma'am.
I can't give you anything for the pain - it might affect your breathing.
Just try and relax, OK, 'cause we're doing everything we can.
Just moisten her lips or something, just to keep her comfortable.
I'm gonna go and tidy up.
OK.
How's Swain doing? He did a first-rate job in adverse circumstances.
Just what was going on on the island? Well, she was camped there with scientific and diving gear, which I've sent the tinnie back to collect.
But what she was doing working there on her own, I have no idea.
(Knocks) Swain? How are you feeling? I was out of my depth, sir.
If you were a fully qualified doctor, you wouldn't be on a patrol boat.
No, but The XO said you did a first-rate job.
I never had any trouble using appropriate force when I was a copper, but putting that knife into that lady's throat (Sighs) You saved her life.
Yeah.
But I nearly froze out there, sir.
I'd rather you did that than enjoy it.
(Chuckles) Yeah.
How's the wife? How's Sal? She's glowing, sir.
Second trimester.
Halfway through.
You'll make a good dad.
You reckon? Yes, I do.
(Nav knocks) Uh, sir? We still can't get radio contact with our guys on the fishing boat.
(Speaks Asian language) What's up? He can't get the gas lit.
You should see this thing he's gonna try and cook on.
Well, they don't live in the lap of luxury like we do.
There's no chefs for them.
You feeling sorry for 'em now? Yeah.
But they're scooping up fish out of our reserves.
And we need them there for our kids, and their kids.
(Man speaks Asian language) (Cries out) Get back! Get back! (Men shout in Asian language) ET! Get down here, quick! What's going on?! (Men shout in Asian language) Smother it.
The gas bottle, the gas bottle, the gas bottle! Open your mouth.
Open your mouth.
Jaff.
Come on, mate.
Just smother it.
Contain it.
It's spreading too fast! Towards the edge! Over this side.
Near the edge.
(Man yells in Asian language) ET: Jaff, move it.
Come on, move it.
Get 'em out of here.
We're gonna have to abandon ship.
What have we got on radar, Nav? Nothing remotely near where the fishing boat ought to be.
It doesn't make sense, unless They're almost impossible to sink.
Get us there as fast as we can.
Roger, sir.
Revolutions 880.
(Shouts) RO! There's such a thing as a pipe, sir.
Keep trying to raise ET and Jaffah.
As I was doing when you shouted, sir.
How are we going, Nav? I've factored in their speed from the last known position.
The foreign fishing vessel's got a compass, so they should be on course.
Yet still nothing on radar.
How's our patient? Not good, sir.
(PHONE RINGS) Take it, X.
It should be NAVCOM.
'Hammersley' Lieutenant McGregor.
Right.
(Knocks) Swain.
NAVCOM have been in touch with her firm.
Her boss is a Dr Ursula Morrell, and says that Dr Holmes has been running tests on the waters off Bright Island.
So, what's that tell us? Speculation, but we could be looking at a seaborne toxin or even an allergic reaction.
And that's as specific as they got? Except it's clearly poisoning of some kind.
Is there any treatment they say we should be administering? Dr Poulos says to continue as you are - manage the symptoms, keep her breathing and, uh he said get her back to base ASAP.
And when is that going to be, ma'am? As soon as we find ET and Jaffah.
Swain, we're all doing the best we can.
I know, ma'am.
Sorry.
(Gasps for breath) Relax.
Relax.
Can I do anything? It's gonna be OK.
Just bring some gauze here.
It's in there.
It's fine.
We're gonna get you back there as soon as possible.
OK, relax.
Shh.
Are you OK? Just keep our arms linked.
Are you OK? You OK, guys? Good.
It's freezing.
No, it's not.
We're too close to the equator.
Do we have any sharks in these waters? No.
The saltwater crocodiles scare 'em away.
Crocodiles? I'm joking.
No, we'll be fine.
Why? How? I grabbed a flare.
What? Why didn't you tell me? Let's use it! I doubt we'll need to.
They'll see the smoke.
Where are they? Mate, they'll find us.
Alright? SPIDER: I hope they're OK.
I hope there hasn't been, like, a mutiny or anything.
No, they're just skinny little fishermen, Spider.
You got my smokes? Eh? My smokes.
You got 'em? You said not to give them to you.
That was then, this is now.
Yeah, but you said even if you asked.
Spider, I'm a gentle man.
Don't tempt me to violence.
I can't.
I swapped them for some crabs.
You what? I told you on the island, I met those fishermen.
And you gave them MY smokes? Yeah, it was a pretty good deal.
Sorry, sir.
Don't call me 'sir' I work for a living.
Sorry, Buffer.
What happens if we don't find them? We'll find them.
Yeah, but what if we don't? We keep looking.
How long do we keep looking? Until we find them.
It's gonna be alright.
JAFFAH: ET? You OK, Jaffah? What? ET, something just touched my leg.
It's probably my foot.
Ah! No, there it is again.
Just settle down.
Settle down.
No! Oh, no, it did! I promise! I swear! Something's touched my leg.
(All yell and scream) Alright, settle down! Jaff, settle down.
Alright? Look at me.
Look at me.
Breathe.
Breathe.
Now, we're gonna be fine.
Alright? OK.
We OK? (Buff continues tapping legs) You know, I'm all for giving up the smokes, Buff.
But on the other hand maybe you should start again.
Buff, I've got some chewy here.
Give it here.
Buff.
Chefo.
We'll get out of your road, sir.
No, you're right.
Anything, Buff? Nothing, sir.
ET? Hmm? Look, I'm not really one for speeches, but, um you know, in case anything happens to us I just want you to know it's been a real honour serving with you.
Yeah? You're a great seaman and, um you're a good bloke too.
And, uh, I think I've learnt some really important stuff from you, like Oh, mate, just calm down.
No, let me finish.
No, calm down.
I think I can see the top of a mast.
What? I see it! I see it! Here goes.
Sir! Flare, green.
9-0.
Let's get there, Nav.
Prepare the ship for man-overboard recovery.
Aye, aye, sir.
Spider, let's go! Nice work, Navi.
NAV OVER P.
A: Hear, hear there.
Navigator speaking.
We have sighted personnel in the water.
Stand by to recover by seaboat.
They've found ET and Jaffah.
You'd better go, ma'am.
X she's stopped breathing.
And there's no pulse.
We're gonna have to perform CPR.
I'll give her two breaths.
You need to give in the middle of her chest, both palms.
Here? Yep.
You ready? (Exhales twice) One, two, three, four, five, six, seven 26, 27, 28, 29, 30.
(Exhales twice) One, two, three, four, five Told you.
Couldn't do without me.
G'day, boys.
Next time you have a pool party, boys, why don't you invite the rest of the class? Your hand, sir.
Yeah, get him in.
26, 27, 28, 29, 30.
Have you got a pulse? OK, go again, Swain.
I want to go again.
Go again.
Two breaths.
Yes, ma'am.
(Exhales twice) BOTH: One, two, three, four, five Sorry, guys, that's all we can fit on.
There's no more room.
Sorry.
(Chuckles) Come on! Alright.
Ladies first, Jaff.
25, 26, 27, 28, (Pants) Is there a pulse? (Breathlessly) Is there a pulse? I'm sorry.
JAFFAH: Hey, what's this? Soup.
I hate soup.
Drink it or I'll get Buffer to throw you back where we found you.
Hey, not bad.
Hey, the woman you got off Bright Island - is she alright? She didn't make it.
Hey, Swaino.
What'll it be? Soup it is.
Mate, I heard about the woman.
Yeah, well, maybe we did something wrong.
Dunno.
Mate, you can't think like that.
You did the best you could.
So, ET, who set the FFV alight? You or Jaff? Jaff.
Yeah, that figures.
I picked him for an arsonist the moment he came aboard.
Hey, you OK? Yeah, fine.
Bit cold, but fine.
MIKE OVER P.
A: Clear lower deck, clear lower deck.
All personnel not on watch, muster fo'c' sle.
Sorry, Jaff, but he's going to have you flogged as an example.
I want to congratulate you all for the professionalism with which you've handled the events of the past few days.
We've had a death on board, but it was unavoidable.
At least we know we did our best.
When we hit port, there will be a critical incident stress management team available for counselling services.
Nav, set course for home.
That's all.
So, you gonna buy me a drink when we get back to shore, ma'am? Haven't you heard about the non-fraternisation rule for shipmates? Oh, yeah, I've heard about it, but, you know Alright, then.
You OK? Not really, no.
No? I've never been present when anyone's died before.
Right.
She just went.
She was, um She was there and then she was gone.
It can be like that.
When we get to base, there's one last thing we have to do.
Lisa Holmes.
She needs to be ID'd.
(REVERSE ALARM BEEPS) Greg Murphy, Federal Police.
Lieutenant Commander Mike Flynn.
This is Lieutenant Kate McGregor.
How do you do? The identification's going to be done by Dr Holmes's employer.
Not family? Her family's in Melbourne.
Dr Morrell? Lieutenant Commander Flynn, Lieutenant McGregor.
Hello.
Were you with Lisa when she died? I was.
With our coxswain, Petty Officer Blake.
What did she? Did she say anything to you? When we found her on the island she was conscious, but she was unable to speak or move.
I should never have let her go there alone.
Can we do this? Yes.
We need a formal statement.
This is the body of Lisa Jane Holmes.
(Sobs) I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm Oh.
I'm usually under much better control than this.
It's understandable.
And you're sure Lisa said nothing? I mean, about what happened? I'm sure.
What do you make of all that? I really feel for her.
Do you? She made a command decision that went very bad.
Yes.
Lost a team member as a result.
The sort of thing that could happen to us.
You didn't think that? Sir, she is a very striking woman and I wouldn't blame you if you were a little smitten with her, but (Chuckles) Excuse me? The moment that she leant against your chest for support.
You didn't find that to be a little calculated? No.
(Chuckles) No.
You've got to be another woman to see it, I guess.
And she really wanted to make sure that Dr Holmes hadn't said anything.
I think we'll leave it there.
Sure.
It's it's a feeling thing.
Feminine instinct, if you like.
I'm getting the impression we can really make this work.
You? I don't see why not.
I mean, I understand that patrol boats are just a stepping stone on your way to being rear admiral Chief of Navy.
Chief of Navy? (Chuckles) But I think we can put that other thing behind us.
Other thing? Yeah, that's what I'd call it.
"Other thing.
" You've been on 'Hammersley' now? Welcome aboard.
