[StoryBots groaning.]
At this rate, we'll never find an answer for Caitlyn.
- [owl.]
Who? - Caitlyn.
- [owl.]
Who? - Caitlyn.
The girl who wants to know how airplanes fly.
We didn't say anything, Bo.
- [all gasp.]
- Then who keeps asking "Who"? Who? - [all exclaim.]
- Where did you come from? Where do any of us come from? [all exclaiming.]
Wow Who are you? Who are any of us? [all exclaim.]
Wow.
That's deep, man.
Something seems to be troubling you, young StoryBots.
We need to find out how airplanes fly for a girl named Caitlyn.
To understand that you must first understand the Forces! Ooh, ooh, I love the forces.
Wait.
What are the forces? Thrust, Drag, Weight, and Lift.
[chanting.]
Om Uh, what's he talkin' about? Did he just fall asleep? [chanting.]
Om Cha! A vision has come to me.
Come, climb aboard.
I will show you [chime.]
The Forces.
Cool.
Come on, guys.
Hop aboard.
[StoryBots clamoring.]
Let's find out how airplanes fly.
Yeah! [Bo.]
Let's go.
- [giggling.]
- [machine whirring.]
[Hub.]
Hey! [person.]
Hey! - [Bub.]
Hut! - [boing.]
[both giggling.]
[both giggling.]
Airplane.
- Here we go! - Hooray! Airplane, airplane, airplane Up in the sky! [robotic voice.]
Up in the sky! We can fly if we try So high in an airplane [robotic voice.]
Oh, my! So far, far, far up Above the trees Way above the trees! We can cross oceans And the seas If you please in an airplane [robotic voice.]
Yes, please! Looking down on roads and towns Baseball fields, barnyards and cows Canyons, Castles, Camping grounds Swimming pools grammar schools Come along! It's super cool Yeah! Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
Look at all of those ants! Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
That's a football team.
Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
Touchdown! Airplane, airplane, airplane up In the sky! Up in the sky! We can fly if we try So high in an airplane We can fly In an air [robotic voice.]
Airplane! [robotic voice.]
It's an airplane! Plane! [propeller whirring.]
[Bing.]
Wow! Look at all these planes! - [Bo.]
Oh, my goodness! - [Beep.]
They're so cool! Prepare yourselves, young StoryBots.
You are about to observe the power of [gong crash.]
The Forces! Observe the engine.
It will create the force called thrust, that pushes the plane forward.
Drag, it's counter force, wants the plane to stand still.
When Thrust overcomes Drag, the plane moves forward! Uh, that's all well and good, Mr.
Wise Old Owl Dude, but even a car moves forward.
Yeah, we need to know how a plane goes up when there's nothing underneath it.
Are you sure there's nothing underneath it, young StoryBot? Look closely.
Feel the Forces.
[chanting.]
Om - Did he fall asleep again? - I hope not.
[chanting.]
Om Cha! [StoryBots.]
Wow.
[StoryBots mumbling.]
Did you see that? It's incredible.
What are all these tiny specks? Air molecules, young StoryBots.
Invisible to the eye, but around us all the time.
[Bang.]
Whoa Why are there so many more of them under the wing than above them? Observe the wing's shape, young StoryBot.
They slant down.
Yeah, and they're curved in front! Precisely.
This shape causes air molecules to bunch up under the wing, while the air molecules on top speed by.
[StoryBots.]
Whoa! As the plane moves faster, more and more of them gather, creating pressure under the wings, that pushes the plane up.
This is the force called Lift.
[StoryBots in jumble.]
Wonderful! Awesome! And when Lift overcomes the force of Weight, which holds things down, the plane will rise.
[StoryBots exclaiming.]
Wow! Awesome! So cool! Sweet! Thrust, drag, weight, and lift! Four forces that make the airplane fly.
[chanting.]
Om Cha! Well, it looks like we got our answer.
[StoryBots cheering.]
All right.
Whoo-hoo.
Thanks, Mr.
Wise old owl dude.
- Parachutes ready? - Ready! - Let's go.
- All right.
- Whoo-hoo.
- Boop.
[Bo screams.]
[owl.]
Farewell, young StoryBots! May the forces be with you Cha! [robotic voice.]
StoryBots Fun Fact number 999 million, 999 thousand, 952.
Did you know that radishes are one of the fastest growing vegetables? Some can grow to full size in just three weeks! [jazz music playing.]
Hey, Mom? Dad? Can I have the car? We've told you.
Not until you're grown.
OK.
[straining.]
[gruffy voice.]
How 'bout now? Well, we promised.
Sweet! - [car engine revving.]
- [screams in excitement.]
[sighs.]
They grow up so fast.
Yes, dear.
[rock and roll music playing.]
Radishes! Radishes! One, two, three, four! Radishes! Radishes! Radishes! Radishes! Radishes! Radishes! [phone rings.]
- Paris, France! - [phone rings.]
Happenstance! Russian Dance! What the [StoryBots grunting.]
[Bing.]
Hi, Boss! What're you StoryBots doing back here? I told you to get an answer! Not dillydally! We got the answer, boss.
We know how airplanes fly! Yeah.
There're like these forces in the universe.
Thrust is the force that pushes planes forward.
Drag is the force that wants to make 'em stop.
Weight is the force pulling them down.
And lift is the force that pushes them up! Pushes them up? Against what? There's nothing underneath 'em! But there is! They're called air molecules! You can't see them, but they're all around us, man.
And the shape of the wings make more air molecules go beneath 'em then above 'em Those air molecules smush together and push the plane up.
And when the force of lift is greater than the weight of the plane That's how airplanes fly! Just just gimme that tape! When there's a push or a pull On an object's course That's a force And there are four We've got to identify If you wanna know How airplanes fly They're thrust, Drag, weight, and lift Thrust, drag, weight, and lift Thrust is the force Of forward motion And move forward you will As long as you overcome The force of drag That can keep you Standin' still The other part is the Upward part Which starts with The shape of the wings If you compare the air Above and beneath 'em You'll find a big Difference between 'em The air on bottom gets All bunched up creating pressure While the air on top Speeds quickly along So its force On the wing is lesser That creates A force called lift Which lifts you Off the ground As long as it's stronger Than the force of weight Pullin' ya' down Thrust, drag, weight, and lift Thrust, drag, weight, and lift Thrust, drag, weight, and lift Take you to the sky! Thrust, drag, weight, and lift Is how airplanes Fly, fly, fly! Whoa! I actually understand that.
I think that was a compliment? Hey, look.
It's Caitlyn! Hi, StoryBots.
[StoryBots all in a jumble.]
Hey, Caitlyn! Caitlyn! Hi, Caitlyn, did you see how the air molecules - crowd under the wing? - And lift the plane up? Thanks, StoryBots.
That's kinda cool.
Did you hear that, guys? She said, it's "kind of cool"! [StoryBots cheering.]
That's awesome.
We totally did it.
That's enough dillydallying.
There's questions to answer! Get back to work! Move! Go! Now! [Hap.]

[StoryBots grunting.]
I think we need a new plan, dudes.
[StoryBots groaning.]
At this rate, we'll never find an answer for Caitlyn.
- [owl.]
Who? - Caitlyn.
- [owl.]
Who? - Caitlyn.
The girl who wants to know how airplanes fly.
We didn't say anything, Bo.
- [all gasp.]
- Then who keeps asking "Who"? Who? - [all exclaim.]
- Where did you come from? Where do any of us come from? [all exclaiming.]
Wow Who are you? Who are any of us? [all exclaim.]
Wow.
That's deep, man.
Something seems to be troubling you, young StoryBots.
We need to find out how airplanes fly for a girl named Caitlyn.
To understand that you must first understand the Forces! Ooh, ooh, I love the forces.
Wait.
What are the forces? Thrust, Drag, Weight, and Lift.
[chanting.]
Om Uh, what's he talkin' about? Did he just fall asleep? [chanting.]
Om Cha! A vision has come to me.
Come, climb aboard.
I will show you [chime.]
The Forces.
Cool.
Come on, guys.
Hop aboard.
[StoryBots clamoring.]
Let's find out how airplanes fly.
Yeah! [Bo.]
Let's go.
- [giggling.]
- [machine whirring.]
[Hub.]
Hey! [person.]
Hey! - [Bub.]
Hut! - [boing.]
[both giggling.]
[both giggling.]
Airplane.
- Here we go! - Hooray! Airplane, airplane, airplane Up in the sky! [robotic voice.]
Up in the sky! We can fly if we try So high in an airplane [robotic voice.]
Oh, my! So far, far, far up Above the trees Way above the trees! We can cross oceans And the seas If you please in an airplane [robotic voice.]
Yes, please! Looking down on roads and towns Baseball fields, barnyards and cows Canyons, Castles, Camping grounds Swimming pools grammar schools Come along! It's super cool Yeah! Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
Look at all of those ants! Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
That's a football team.
Pa-pa-pa-pa [robotic voice.]
Touchdown! Airplane, airplane, airplane up In the sky! Up in the sky! We can fly if we try So high in an airplane We can fly In an air [robotic voice.]
Airplane! [robotic voice.]
It's an airplane! Plane! [propeller whirring.]
[Bing.]
Wow! Look at all these planes! - [Bo.]
Oh, my goodness! - [Beep.]
They're so cool! Prepare yourselves, young StoryBots.
You are about to observe the power of [gong crash.]
The Forces! Observe the engine.
It will create the force called thrust, that pushes the plane forward.
Drag, it's counter force, wants the plane to stand still.
When Thrust overcomes Drag, the plane moves forward! Uh, that's all well and good, Mr.
Wise Old Owl Dude, but even a car moves forward.
Yeah, we need to know how a plane goes up when there's nothing underneath it.
Are you sure there's nothing underneath it, young StoryBot? Look closely.
Feel the Forces.
[chanting.]
Om - Did he fall asleep again? - I hope not.
[chanting.]
Om Cha! [StoryBots.]
Wow.
[StoryBots mumbling.]
Did you see that? It's incredible.
What are all these tiny specks? Air molecules, young StoryBots.
Invisible to the eye, but around us all the time.
[Bang.]
Whoa Why are there so many more of them under the wing than above them? Observe the wing's shape, young StoryBot.
They slant down.
Yeah, and they're curved in front! Precisely.
This shape causes air molecules to bunch up under the wing, while the air molecules on top speed by.
[StoryBots.]
Whoa! As the plane moves faster, more and more of them gather, creating pressure under the wings, that pushes the plane up.
This is the force called Lift.
[StoryBots in jumble.]
Wonderful! Awesome! And when Lift overcomes the force of Weight, which holds things down, the plane will rise.
[StoryBots exclaiming.]
Wow! Awesome! So cool! Sweet! Thrust, drag, weight, and lift! Four forces that make the airplane fly.
[chanting.]
Om Cha! Well, it looks like we got our answer.
[StoryBots cheering.]
All right.
Whoo-hoo.
Thanks, Mr.
Wise old owl dude.
- Parachutes ready? - Ready! - Let's go.
- All right.
- Whoo-hoo.
- Boop.
[Bo screams.]
[owl.]
Farewell, young StoryBots! May the forces be with you Cha! [robotic voice.]
