are the power source
of all the magic in Mertropia.

Barbarossa's sea monsters
are too dangerous.
Wait, Barbarossa, the legendary
evil, immortal pirate, is real?

and watch my father risk his life.
I had to do something.

[sighs]

I lost the map,
so I have no way to find the pearls.
I got separated
from my two best friends.
And I'm really worried because
my communication bracelet won't work
and I can't contact them.
Definitely cooler than a smartwatch.

mixed in with its magic,
we have a friend with a big brain
who may be able to help.
But first
we might need to do something
about your clothes.

is a good place
to start looking for clues
about your Pearls of Neptune.
I work in the basement archives
for school credit.

-[horn beeps]

[tires screeching]

There's one pirate guarding the gate.

So, all these things
belong to real pirates?

Morton Bay was founded by pirates.
But there were good pirates too,
like our ancestor, John Silver.
He robbed from the rich
and took care of the poor.
He's kind of my role model.
He lived at Pirate's Cove.
Our rescue center is built
right where his house used to be.
We have books that say
he and Barbarossa
were mortal enemies.
Which would make him an ally.
The basement is down this way.
This place is crawling with pirates.
Maybe that's why
it's called a pirate museum.
This way.
There's a lot of old books
and documents down there.
There might be something
about the pearls.
Don't worry.
It's just the show starting.
[man] Whoa! Here it comes.
[woman] Wow!
[excited reactions]
[gasping]
Mommy! Mommy! Look at that!
[kid] Is it a mermaid?
-So, what do you think?
-Huh! A mermaid prisoner?

Merlinda, wait. It's not real.

have captured merpeople.
We've got to get her out of there.

[grunts]
[audience member]

way better than the last show.

[grunts]
[audience gasps]

[straining]
[laughter]
[gasps]
-[coughing]

[screams]

-[gasps]
-[roars]

Okay, everybody. Show's over.
We're having a little technical issue,
so please head to your closest exit.
Everybody run!
-[gasps]
-[growling]
[both gasp]

Don't mess with the bubbles.

Nice move with the rope slide.
Princess, I was supposed
to protect you.
I feel terrible that you had to deal
with all these pirates by yourself.
It wasn't your fault.

And I wasn't alone.
I had Celia and Tyler.
-[Sasha laughs]
-Um, pause button.
You're a princess?
Oh, did I leave that part out?
[Sasha laughing]
[evil laugh]
[grunting]
Merfolk!
Your pathetic magic will not stand
in my way much longer.
I will find a way to discover
what secrets are hidden on this page.
[growling]

[Nerissa] Merlinda, behind you!
[gasping]
Mermaids on the surface, unprotected.
I'll track you down
soon enough, Merlinda.
[evil laughter, seagulls cry]
You don't remember
breaking through the blockade?
I remember the sea monster
grabbing the map.
The rest is blank.
You were so amazing.
You did this huge new magic.
This pretty blue light shot out of you.
It knocked out every monster in sight.
-Also us.
-[Merlinda sighs]
I wish I knew
what was happening to me.
Maybe then I could use this new power
to help find the pearls and save my dad.
Right now, I have no way
of saving anything.
My trident ring doesn't work.
The magic map
to the oyster beds is gone.
You still have us.
We came through the portal
because we believe in you.
-Mermaids swim together.
-[all] Forever.
I'm glad the new clothes worked out.
