Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends (1984) s01e02 Episode Script
Edward & Gordon (7 min)
Edward was in the shed with the engines.
They were all bigger than him and boasted about it.
"The driver won't pick you," said Gordon.
"He wants strong engines.
" The driver felt sorry for Edward.
"Would you like to go out?" "Yes, please!" said Edward.
They lit his fire and Edward puffed away.
The other engines were very cross at being left behind.
(Toots) Edward worked hard all day.
The coaches thought he was very kind and the driver was pleased.
"l'm going out again tomorrow," said Edward.
"What do you think of that?" But he didn't hear what they thought for he fell asleep at once.
Next morning, Edward found nothing had changed.
"You watch me with the express!" said Gordon.
"Goodbye, little Edward.
Look out for me!" Edward went to do some shunting.
He liked playing with the trucks.
He would give them a push and the silly trucks would bump into each other! Edward played till there were no more trucks then he stopped to rest.
He heard a whistle.
Gordon was very cross.
He was pulling a lot of dirty trucks! "A goods train!" he grumbled.
"Oh, the shame of it.
" Edward laughed.
There was trouble.
"Gordon can't get up the hill," said the porter.
"Take Edward and push him.
" They found Gordon very cross.
His driver was cross too.
"You're not trying!" "l can't do it," said Gordon.
Edward's driver said, "We can push.
" "No use," said Gordon.
"You wait," said the driver.
They took the train down the hill.
"l'm ready," said Edward.
"No good," grumbled Gordon.
"l can't do it! l can't do it!" puffed Gordon.
"l will do it!" puffed Edward.
Edward pushed as hard as ever he could.
Suddenly, Gordon was at the top of the hill! "l've done it!" he said proudly.
He forgot all about Edward.
Edward was left out of breath and far behind.
At the next station he found that the driver was very pleased with him.
"l'll get out my paint and give you a beautiful coat of blue "then you'll be the smartest engine in the shed.
