confessed that he'd killed Marta,
I spoke to the Secretary to the Interior
and told them that I was going to ask
the army to get involved.
We initiated perhaps
the biggest search operation
that's ever been done.

that this version of Marta's death,

they could have disposed of the body.

The confessed murderer of the young girl
now says that they disposed
of the body in a dumpster
almost a hundred yards from the flat
where she was supposedly murdered,
and that they did not
throw her in the river.

has been a highly unusual situation,

THE MARTA CASE: ONE CRIME, TWO TRIALS

there were two trials,
one for "El Cuco," who was a minor then,
and another for the adults.
The legal process,
legislation, sentences
everything is different
when it comes to the trial of a minor.

It's the first day of the trial
in the disappearance and death of Marta.

to the court in Seville at 8:00 a.m.,
from the juvenile unit.

a maximum penalty of six years in prison,
plus three years of probation.

The lawyer for Carcaño's brother,
