And what makes this game different is Alice hattley is a local community leader, But due to an unfortunate turn of events, She could sure use a helping hand.

My mom moved to south central l.

And soon after, she met my dad and they were married.
Growing up, my mom and my dad Opened up our house as a shelter.

She's someone that I look up to.
My mom really wasn't around, So it's a blessing to have her be a part of my life.
In 1993, my mom and dad started a nonprofit out of the church, Where they would give away food and clothes To those in the community.
I'm feeding four people at home and without her She's keeping us alive.
If it wasn't for places like this, I don't know how my family and I Would get through the rest of the month.

Uh, three years ago, life got a lot more difficult When my dad passed away.
They went from both of their small incomes To only her income.
She didn't have enough coming in to support the church Where hundreds of families depend on her every day And And to support her own household.
She just couldn't do it by herself.
It was more important to my mother That she continue to feed the people in the community, So she--she lost the house.
I walked in the kitchen And I actually saw my mother crying.
Um, she said, "I'm just so tired, kia.
"as soon as I think I have everything worked out, "something else happens and I'm just tired.
" In the last couple years, my mom has lost her husband And most recently, her house, But she continues to give And just work nonstop to help others.
She needs a place, a place to stay Where she could feel safe And she can go outside and enjoy the--the night air.
I pray every day that My heart will be as big as my mother's.
That's just how great of a person that she is.
I am here today because, mommy, You deserve it.
