A Million Little Things (2018) s01e03 Episode Script
Save the Date
1 Previously on "A Million Little Things" Yes! You're not gonna believe this.
Jon killed himself.
If you hadn't called to tell me about Jon, I would be dead right now.
I had a mouthful of pills when I answered that phone.
- I don't know anything about you.
- I know.
Isn't it great? Ohh! Here's the lease.
Sign here.
Wait, why do I have to sign? Didn't Jon tell you? He left the restaurant to both of you.
- I'm in love with someone.
- What? She's the mom of one of my students.
He found your necklace.
It was in his nightstand.
Jon knew about us.
We can't do this.
Think about it There must be higher love Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above Without it Life is wasted time Look inside your heart I'll look inside mine Things look so bad everywhere In this whole world, what's fair? - We walk blind - [PHONE VIBRATES.]
We try to see Falling behind in what could be Bring me a higher love Where's this higher love I've been thinking of? KATHERINE: The deposition is Monday at noon.
Tell him I need him all morning to prepare him for cross-examination.
- Okay.
- [PHONE CHIMES.]
[GROANS.]
It's not even 7:00.
How long have you been up? Long enough to bill two hours.
[PHONE VIBRATES.]
It's not me.
Ah, believe it or not, that one's for me.
[SIGHS.]
It's from Jon.
It's an auto-reminder.
Oh, Gary's birthday.
He had us all save the date.
[CHUCKLES.]
God, he thought of everything.
So, what was he planning this time? I'm not sure.
[SCREAMS, LAUGHS.]
[CHUCKLES.]
Uhh, we should probably get up.
[CHUCKLES.]
Yes, I agree.
I was being polite.
I thought you were catching your breath.
Uhh, nope.
My heart rate is totally normal.
Well, now it is.
Oh, you are so proud of yourself.
- [PHONE VIBRATES.]
- I I am just gonna go out on a limb and say that I am the best sex that you've ever [PHONE CHIMES.]
Wow.
Something shut you up.
Oh, my gosh.
Can you please send me a link to whatever that is so that I can save it for future use? I will send you the link right now.
No! No! [LAUGHING.]
Whoa! Ow! Oh! [THUD.]
Sorry.
[CHUCKLES.]
Ughh! [DOOR HINGES CREAK.]
Uh would you care to explain this? Uh, p-put him back.
Oh, "him.
" He's a boy panda.
What is his name? His name is none of your business.
This poor little guy has spent the last three months trapped in a box w-with What else do we have here? - My goodness, we have a belt.
- Okay.
Just stop.
- Let's just - I'm serious.
[LAUGHS.]
Hey, what what happened to Fun Maggie? Uhh, she got driven away by Nosy Gary.
Just stay out of my stuff.
Whoa.
[EXHALES SHARPLY.]
What's with her, huh? I bet you know stuff, don't you? You've got to stop this, Reg.
REGINA: I know.
I'm sorry.
I just I can't absorb any more food.
Let's go check out the restaurant.
I don't know.
Did you read? They might finally approve the subway stop two blocks from us.
Do you know what that would do for business? No, look, I appreciate all of this.
Not the cookies, but your kindness.
It's just, I think right now I'm better off alone.
No, you're not.
You need to lean on me.
Bother me.
Call me.
That is what I am here for.
Otherwise, all I've done is make you fat.
[CHUCKLES.]
Mm.
Did you make Gary cookies? It's his birthday.
Mm.
[CHUCKLES.]
I saw the reminder on Jon's phone.
Still checking his phone, huh? Yeah, I guess I'm just hoping someone's gonna call with an answer.
[PANTING.]
- Hey.
- Hey.
What are you doing here? That's not another smoothie, is it? Nah, nah, cookies.
Gina made 'em, and they're amazing.
Ahh.
You know, this is not a barter system.
I charge money for therapy, which I already told you, I am not offering you.
Did you call Dr.
Heller? I'm more comfortable with you, and and depression's your specialty.
I can't be your therapist and your friend at the same time.
That's not how it works.
What about friends with benefits? - Okay, that that that came out wrong.
- [SCOFFS.]
Yeah, everything about this is wrong.
Okay, wait a minute.
Please.
Do Do you have any idea what it took for me to come here today? [SIGHS.]
I mean, I I tried to keep it light, with the cookies and everything, but I-I don't have the courage to talk to anyone else about it.
[SIGHS.]
Please.
Whenever you can [SIGHS.]
All right.
Okay.
The Friday at 1:00.
It's my lunch hour.
I will have lunch with you as a friend, but you have to promise to call Dr.
Heller.
- I promise.
- All right.
- Thank you.
- Yeah.
And whoa, whoa.
Leave the cookies.
Oh, right.
Wait a minute.
What, I get one? No, no, no, no.
Just saving one for Gary.
It's for his birthday.
His birthday.
Right.
I'm sure he's told you how much he hates it.
[SIGHING.]
Yeah.
Friday! [DOOR CLOSES.]
[NOISEMAKER HONKS.]
There he is! Have you been drinking again? I just wanted to show you how much I care, dude.
I know that scares you.
You have any idea what Jon had in mind? No.
Pretty sure it didn't involve recycled decorations from Theo's fourth birthday party.
Look at you, doing the walk of shame! Shame? No, I just had morning sex.
This is a victory lap.
You are in a broken marriage having an adulterous affair with one of your guitar students' mothers.
Yeah, well, that's done.
"Done"? What are you talking about, "done"? I thought you said you were just pumping the brakes a little.
Man, you were gushing about it at a hockey game.
It just wasn't meant to be.
I'm sorry, Ed.
But it's tough to feel bad for you, because I missed the whole thing.
Happy birthday Oh, come on.
- Nice! - EDDIE: Dude.
[BOTH CHUCKLE.]
You too, huh? Go, Gary.
It's your birthday.
You know, the one good thing about Jon being gone is that whatever he had planned, we're not doing.
Which is why I brought love and a cookie.
Oh, one cookie? For the three of us? It's yours, Ed.
The cookie's all yours.
[VEHICLE HORN HONKING.]
Which one of you is the birthday boy? Damn it, Jon.
What do you think Jon planned? I don't know, but whatever it is, we shouldn't be doing it without him.
Totally.
He should be here.
Just doesn't feel right without him.
[SIGHS.]
That's because it's wrong.
- I knew it.
- No, that's Rome, don't.
- What is he doing? - Don't get inside.
Gentlemen! Larry is it Larry? - LARRY: Yes, sir.
- Yep.
Larry and his limo are about to drive us to Wait for it Bruins Fantasy Camp! We will be on Bruins ice playing hockey with some of the greatest players of all time.
Jon would still want us to do this, right? I think he would come back from the dead and kill us if we didn't.
We got to do this.
This feels very right.
Yes! So, they ran out of money and had to stop construction, which is fine, because we have to make it our own anyway.
Mm-hmm.
I don't know, maybe paint some of the brick white? Could be nice.
DELILAH: Yeah.
Well, I defer to you.
You are the designer.
This is your space.
You could do whatever you want.
So what do you want? I don't get it.
He makes sure that you get the restaurant.
He makes sure that I'm on the lease.
But he doesn't leave a note to explain it? Or tell me why he did it.
Yeah, I don't know, D.
[DOOR OPENS.]
Hello? Oh, who's that? [GASPS.]
Maggie! Hi! I was just in the neighborhood.
Wow.
Hey.
I I just I don't think that this is really I'm sorry.
D, wait.
We're just trying to help.
- DELILAH: I know.
- And keep you company, you know? And cards on the table, she may have made mani/pedi appointments followed by deep-cleansing facials and then lunch reservations at a place that's really hard to get into.
If you want to help, I do need to go to Jon's office and and, uh, go through his stuff.
I just I haven't been able to face it alone.
But, uh Then that's what we'll do instead.
[REGINA AND DELILAH CHUCKLE.]
Ed, I told you.
The camp supplies all the gear.
But what if Katherine asks you to do s She's gonna want you to do something.
- I have to get my lucky skates.
- How lucky are they gonna feel when you get stuck making chicken tenders for Theo? Oh.
Wait here.
I'm coming with you 'cause I don't trust your process.
What part of the chicken does the tender come from? GARY: Here's a radical thought.
When you ask, why don't you pretend you have more balls than a Ken doll? What are you talking about? You, your marriage, the way you walk through it Like you need a permission slip to do anything.
Hey, guys.
Katherine.
Hello.
Great sweatpants.
They look great.
You look great.
Together? Forget about it.
- I'll take it from here.
- Mm-hmm.
[CLEARS THROAT.]
Hey, hon.
Remember how I got that, um, auto-reminder from Jon this morning? Happy birthday.
I know you hate it.
I do! I normally do.
But then we found out what he had planned.
It's hockey fantasy camp with the Bruins at the Garden! Oh, my God.
That is all you guys ever talk about.
Yeah! So, here's the thing.
I'm supposed to pick up Theo from his swim lesson later on today.
But, you know, since this is obviously super important to Jon I can totally get him.
Jon planned this.
Of course you should go.
Thank you.
I'm gonna get my lucky skates! [FOOTSTEPS DEPART.]
KATHERINE: So, Gary? Are we good? Or do you need me to sign his permission slip? [TAPS WALL.]
EDDIE: [IN DISTANCE.]
Thanks, hon! See you later! [DOOR CLOSES.]
[PEN SCRATCHING, HITS TABLE.]
[PHONE VIBRATES.]
Hello? Oh, I'm sorry, this is my husband's Necklace? Got my lucky skates.
Got the green light.
Nothing can stop us now.
[ENGINE TURNS OVER.]
ROME: Guys.
According to this, chicken tenders are made from the breast.
It's the nuggets you got to worry about.
Three words for you Mechanically separated meat.
You ain't feeding that to Theo, huh? GARY: Rome, put your phone away.
EDDIE: Ooh, stop! I'm sorry.
- [BRAKES SQUEAL.]
- I forgot my phone.
- Eddie - I'm sorry.
I'll be back in a jiff.
God.
"Jiff.
" Where's the word "jiff" come from? No.
I'm not doing a whole day of this.
[DOOR CLOSES.]
Ah! There it is.
Thanks, babe.
You're the best.
Hey, what were you doing at the Hotel Loncar? [CHUCKLES.]
What are you talking about? Hotel manager just called to let you know they couldn't find your necklace.
What were you doing there? Oh, the Hotel Loncar? Yeah, no, I had lunch there last week with a friend of mine from my band days.
He's a drummer.
Never worked with him.
He's too much drama.
His name's Blaze.
Yeah, you get it.
They have a great restaurant.
We ate by the pool.
Really? Are you Are you sure it wasn't room service? 'Cause the manager wanted me let you know that they searched room 312 and your necklace wasn't there.
So, were you with someone? No, it wasn't like that.
Are you having an affair? Katherine, there's so Who is it? It doesn't matter who.
My God.
Is it someone I know? [INHALES SHARPLY.]
Trust me.
I'm an attorney.
I can find out who this is by lunch.
Okay.
Listen, just sit down.
I don't want to sit down.
At least give me the respect of telling me who it is.
[BREATHING HEAVILY.]
"He coined the unit of time called the 'jiffy' What is taking him so long? He just went in for his phone.
which was approximately 33.
35 picoseconds.
" We were inches away from a clean getaway.
[SIGHS.]
"Inches away from a clean getaway.
" - What movie is that? - Stop it.
So, every time I was with her, you were humiliating me.
Acting like we were all friends when you and Delilah were having sex.
Who else knows? No one knows.
[GASPS.]
EDDIE: Katherine.
Katherine.
- Get out! - Katherine, please.
Go! Get out! Hey, Gary! - [EXHALES SHARPLY.]
- Gary.
- I can't believe you, man.
- Gary, please! Wait! Stop.
- Just stop! - Get away from that car.
- Let me talk, please! Please! - Move, man.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Gentlemen, what's going on? Easy.
[BREATHING HEAVILY.]
Ask him.
No, Gary.
I just need a second here.
All right, I'll tell you.
The guitar student's mom that he has been f It's Delilah! Rome.
Please.
Give me a second to explain.
You can't explain that.
You can't explain that.
GARY: Let's go, Rome.
Guys.
Please drive.
[ENGINE REVS.]
You just need to calm down.
We both do.
What are you doing? I am sending an e-mail to Eddie.
He needs to see this.
No, wait, wait, wait.
Don't act out - Don't touch me.
- Don't act out of anger, man.
Oh, that is exactly my plan, and I encourage you to get on board.
- Why aren't you mad at Delilah? - Because! She's not here! You don't think I'm pissed? Huh? You don't think I'm destroyed by this? Great.
I will sign the e-mail from both of us.
No, no, don't send anything, because you're gonna make a terrible situation worse, and I can't afford to do that anymore.
Hey! It's too late.
Oops.
Eddie slept with one of his best friends' wives, Rome.
Why don't you call Regina and see what he did to her? - Dude, there you go! That's good.
- Oh, oh, I know.
Oh, my joke about Eddie sleeping with your wife - Oh, you're sharp.
- That's inappropriate.
This sucks! I get it.
But we have to push through.
Somehow, you and me are gonna get in this car, - and we're gonna have a great day.
- How can you say that? How are we gonna have a great day? Are we gonna go to the Garden and pretend like nothing happened? Yeah! That's what I do, Gary.
That's how I get through every day.
Come on, man.
I can't lose another friend.
Let's go.
[VEHICLE DOOR CLOSES.]
Well, you heard him, Larry.
We're going to the Garden.
- [ENGINE STARTS.]
- Have the best day ever.
Look, I know I have given you no reason to believe me, but I am so sorry.
I don't have time for sorry.
I have to finish my brief because someone has to pay our mortgage.
I have to pick up Theo.
- No, let me get Theo.
- I'm gonna pick up Theo.
You're gonna go somewhere else.
Anywhere else, and figure out how the hell you could've done this.
[SIGHS.]
[VOICE BREAKING.]
Forget me.
How could you do this to Theo? [FOOTSTEPS DEPART.]
[SIGHS.]
[SIREN WAILING IN DISTANCE.]
Oh, my God.
Are you seeing this? [INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
Oh, my God.
We are standing right where Bobby Orr changed after scoring the winning goal to win the 1970 Stanley Cup.
Actually, they tore that Garden down to build this one, but the point is, it was probably in a room just like this.
Dude, look at this! Personalized jerseys.
[CHUCKLING.]
It's like Christmas, man.
Yeah, if just before you opened your presents, you found out Santa had sex with your mother.
No, I understand.
I Listen.
Just don't liquidate anything yet.
- Okay, the subway's back on.
- [ELEVATOR BELL DINGS.]
[QUIETLY.]
I have to call you back.
[RECEIVER CLICKS.]
- Hey.
- DELILAH: Hey.
Sorry I-I didn't call.
No, it's okay.
What are you guys doing here? Just here to help her pack up Jon's stuff.
Of course.
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS, RINGING.]
[PHONE VIBRATING.]
[PHONE CHIMES.]
[DOOR OPENS, HINGES CREAK.]
Why's that still up? The police never came back to get it.
Ah.
I didn't know what to do.
I'm sorry.
I-I'll take it down.
No, I'll do it.
[SIGHS.]
[SIREN WAILS IN DISTANCE.]
ASHLEY: I'll go get some boxes.
[CAR ALARM BLARING.]
[SIGHS.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
[TAPE TEARING.]
How great is it to be wearing a pair of skates that haven't been worn by a hundred people before you, huh? [SIGHS, SNIFFS.]
We were supposed to do this the four of us.
[EXHALES SHARPLY.]
Now I got one friend who can't be here.
Hey, guys.
[SCOFFS.]
And another friend who I don't want here.
How great are birthdays? Guys, please.
I need to talk to you.
Did you check your e-mail? - What? - I sent you something.
You should watch it.
What you already sent this to us.
Why is he sending this to me again? GARY: Oh, what's that? Is that Katherine calling to check on your balls? When does she need those back? JON: Guys, wives are off-limits.
[SIGHS.]
Got to go.
This is breaking my heart.
Can't imagine what it's doing to hers.
[WHISTLE BLOWS.]
COACH: Bring it in, boys! All right, well done.
Let's line up here, and we're gonna work on the face-off.
Birthday boy, why don't you go center, huh? And I'm gonna need a couple of wingers here.
All right, you ready? You're seriously still here? You've given me no other choice.
Now, remember, games are won or lost on the dot.
All right? Hey, cinch it in.
Smell the puck.
Here we go.
[STICKS CLACK.]
EDDIE: Gary.
Hey, come on, man.
Don't do this to me.
- [STICKS TAPPING.]
- Don't do this to you? What about what you did to Jon?! [GRUNTS.]
COACH: Guys, you're on the same team, here! Guys! Seriously.
Get off me! Don't touch me.
[INDISTINCT SHOUTING.]
[WHISTLE BLOWING.]
COACH: Guys.
Hey, guys! [BOTH GRUNTING.]
How?! How could you sleep with her, Ed? How could you sleep with her? How could you do this to Jon? [PHONE RINGING, BEEPS.]
[SIGHS.]
EDDIE: Hey, it's me.
I've tried you a couple times, but you're not picking up.
Look, I didn't want to do this over voicemail.
Katherine found out about us.
Gary and Rome know, too.
Yeah, I just called Rome to see how the day's going.
How could you? Maybe I should leave you guys No.
Don't.
Let's just do this.
[NIGHT FLIGHT'S "STORM" PLAYS.]
[SIGHS.]
Order, order, nobody can see All the leaves are falling from her authenticity - [DOORBELL RINGS.]
- Corner, corner, everything you know Stick it in a pile where the innocence of love can grow [DOOR OPENS.]
Katherine! Oh, you're home.
I was running errands on my lunch break, and I wanted to return this.
Thank you for lending it to me.
Oh, no, it's fine.
I told you to keep it.
It looks beautiful on you.
That is so sweet.
Is Eddie here? Yes! He's, uh Eddie! He's here for, um, Sophie's guitar lesson.
Standing by the pillars of dishonesty and greed Hey, hon.
And greed [TAPE CREAKING.]
[CREAKING CONTINUES.]
Say it.
Why won't somebody just say it? Just say it! Say what? I need to know where it is.
Delilah.
Delilah.
What are you looking for? Maybe I can help you find it.
He must've left something, right? - Where is it? - Delilah, where's what? The note.
The note.
The note that tells me to go to hell! So I know that's why he did it.
[BREATHING HEAVILY.]
That's what you're all thinking, isn't it? Right? Isn't it? That I killed him? Say it.
Just say it.
Say it! [BOXES CLATTER.]
[FOOTSTEPS DEPART.]
[SIGHS.]
Look, I screwed up.
I know.
Yeah, royally.
Even for you, Ed, this is a it's a big one.
I know what I did was wrong.
I-I broke the biggest guy code there is.
And I am so sorry.
And there's nothing I can say, except I wish it didn't happen, but it did.
- [STICK THUDS.]
- And believe me.
We fought it every single day.
[INDISTINCT SHOUTING IN DISTANCE.]
Until Until what? Until we fell in love.
And we were gonna tell everybody.
I swear to you.
And then And I can't help but think that maybe he already knew.
That maybe that's why.
I hope that's why he killed himself.
Oh, damn, Gary.
At least then I'd know why.
Ashley, did Jon know about this? I mean, did he ever say anything to you? No.
He didn't know.
At least, I don't think he did.
[SIGHS.]
I don't know.
People make mistakes.
This is not a mistake.
Mistakes are things that happen by accident.
Gina.
I mean, it makes a big difference, though, doesn't it? I mean, he killed himself.
All right, fellas, we're gonna play a little four-on-four.
Where's your fourth? We're down a man.
Do you want a sub? No, we'll be fine.
This one brought his lucky skates.
[INDISTINCT CHATTER.]
MAN: Let's go.
[STICKS CLACKING.]
Come on.
Get your butts in gear.
Let's go! ROME: Eddie, stay with him.
Stay with him! MAN: Hey, play a little defense, why don't you? - [BUZZER.]
- MAN: Well done, boys.
Well done! [CHEERING.]
So glad we stopped by to get those.
[VEHICLE APPROACHES.]
[SIGHS.]
I'm so sorry, Katherine.
I was in a bad place in In my marriage, in my life, but I shouldn't have complicated yours.
I didn't mean to hurt anybody, but [SNIFFLES.]
All I've done is is hurt everybody.
You know, when I found out today, I just felt so alone.
And I wanted to call the one person who understood me, who understood why I worked so hard, why I'm not always home.
I wanted to call Jon.
I don't work hard because I want to.
I work hard because I'm making a sacrifice for my family.
And Jon understood that.
I came here today to yell at you.
But I can't because I think you've already paid the ultimate price.
- MAN: Good, good.
- MAN #2: Come on.
Come on.
[INDISTINCT CHATTER.]
Ohh! Yeah, Gary! [INDISTINCT SHOUTING.]
[BUZZER.]
Whoo! [CHEERING.]
All right, fellas.
We're tied at two up.
Next goal wins.
[INDISTINCT CHATTER.]
Let's thank him for your birthday present.
Now! Ed, put it in! Yeah! [BUZZER.]
[CHEERING.]
Aah! Whoo! [LAUGHS.]
Fellas! Sauce and all! Good pass.
[LAUGHS.]
[SIGHS.]
[SNIFFS.]
Hey, Gare, where you going? What do you think this is, Ed? The end of some sports movie where we all come together, beat the other guys, and everything's healed between us? I don't think so.
This is real life.
What you did is unforgivable.
[SIGHS.]
Good game, gentlemen.
I'll find my own way home.
Listen, Eddie.
People have affairs all the time.
And people find out about 'em.
They don't usually kill themselves.
And And even even if it was a part of it, it wasn't the whole thing.
You can You can take that from me.
It wasn't one thing.
It was probably a million things.
[SIGHS.]
[BUZZER.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS IN DISTANCE.]
[SIGHS.]
Hey.
Thought you could use a little cheering up.
That's very sweet.
Although, people have got to stop coming by my place just because it's my birthday.
Well, maybe next time you should let people know it's your birthday so they don't have to make a separate trip.
Really? I didn't tell you about my birthday? Yeah.
[CHUCKLES.]
That's funny.
You haven't told me anything.
Except to keep my hands off your panda.
What are you so scared of? Okay, this is not about me.
This is about you.
This is just supposed to be fun.
Yeah.
Well, right now, this is not fun, so maybe come back when it is.
[MAN SPEAKING INDISTINCTLY IN DISTANCE.]
All right.
[PHONE VIBRATING.]
[PHONE CHIMES.]
Hello? [SIGHS.]
[WHISPERING.]
Why are you calling this number? [SIGHS.]
Uh, I needed to hear his voice.
[SNIFFLES.]
How you doing? Not great.
Yeah, me neither.
He left me a voicemail.
What? At the hotel When we didn't pick up.
[INHALES SHARPLY.]
Wait, you're just telling me this Wh [SNIFFLES.]
What did he say? He said "Do me a favor.
Love each other.
" "Love each other"? That's it? Did he mean Did he mean you and me? Maybe.
Maybe he meant all of us.
[SNIFFLES.]
Regina won't even talk to me.
[SIGHS.]
I'm so sorry.
I have to go.
Okay.
[ELBOW'S "JESUS IS A ROCHDALE GIRL" PLAYS.]
I have a single heartbreak [PHONE BEEPS.]
I celebrate and mourn - [PHONE CHIMES.]
- A single shining sister And all the tricks of dawn [SIGHS.]
A single yellow duvet A single switch to flick [SIGHS.]
But a thousand boxes yet to take [SNIFFLES.]
[WATER RUNNING, DISHES CLINK.]
I know it doesn't help, but just so you do know, it's over.
I'll do whatever you want.
Do you love her? [SIGHS.]
[DOORBELL RINGS.]
DELILAH: Hey.
[INSECTS CHIRPING.]
Why wasn't he enough? He was enough for me.
Yeah.
That's just it, Gary.
He was there for everybody.
He was everything to everyone.
Which was great, except that I I just got forgotten.
I really hate my birthday.
I know.
I didn't used to.
I remember that feeling, waking up and realizing, "Today's the day.
Today is my birthday," especially as a kid.
[EXHALES SHARPLY.]
When I was 7, my parents threw this huge party.
Whole grade came over.
Not just my class The whole grade.
And they hired a magician.
You hate magicians.
Now I hate magicians.
- [CHUCKLES.]
- But back then, maa-aan.
That morning, my parents got into a huge fight.
It was a real blowout.
In their bedroom, and all those kids could hear them.
And I guess they stayed together for a couple months after that, but that was the day that I knew that my parents' marriage was over.
And when I blew out my candles, I didn't wish for them to stay together.
I just wished for us to be happy.
And then I promised myself that I would never get married, because that is not what I wanted.
But then I saw you and Jon, and damn it, D, you made me believe in it all over again.
Jon and I, we were We were that amazing couple.
Until we just we weren't.
And that That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get that.
If I If I could fall in love with him all over again I would.
[RYAN ADAMS' "LUCKY NOW" PLAYS.]
Can I show you something? I don't remember, were we wild and young? [DOOR CLOSES.]
- [SIGHS.]
- All that's faded into memory I feel like somebody I don't know Come on, D.
What is this? Just it got here a couple of hours ago.
Apparently, the limo driver was gonna drop you guys off here and And the dark will bring you down And the night will break your heart But only if you're lucky now What are you doing? Just got to light the candles.
[CHUCKLES.]
Waiting outside while you find your keys Five.
It's all I got.
Like bags of trash in the blackening snow City of neon and toes that freeze You know, not for nothing How upset should I be that you picked Eddie and not me? - [CHUCKLES.]
- We've got nothing and nowhere And the lights will draw you in And the dark will take you down Make a wish.
- [SIGHS.]
I don't wanna.
- The night will break your heart Come on.
Only if you're lucky now What are you gonna wish for? If the lights will draw you in And the dark will take you down The same thing I've been wishing for since I was 7.
But only if you're lucky now Damn it, Jon.
