When the ARVs arrived, he decided there was no way out.
How come he didn't see you? I was observing from a covered position.
Why did he turn the pistol on himself? As you'll know from my statement, I attempted to arrest him.
I called, "Armed police" and ordered him to surrender his firearm.
He chose not to comply.

So he didn't say anything that might reveal a motive? In firing on the Home Secretary's vehicle, I mean.
