[narrator] In the year 2009,
the human race
made first contact with aliens.
Pushed into a war in space
with this army of giants
known as the Zentradi,
Earth was brought
to the brink of destruction.
March 2010. The war ends.
That April, the New U.N. Government
was established,
ushering in a new era
of peaceful coexistence
between humanity and the Zentradi.
Zentradi who wished to reduce themselves
to human size were able to,
via a process called "miclonization."
September 2011.
The New U.N. Government
devises the Humanity Emigration Plan
with the purpose of
preserving the human race.
September 2012. The first
Super Long-Range Emigration Fleet,
the Megaroad-01, is launched.
September 2030.
The first New Macross Class
emigration ship is launched.
Dwarfing its Megaroad predecessors,
this new class can carry
one million people.
In 2038, the Seventh New
Macross Class Ship and flagship
to the 37th Super Long-Range Emigration
Fleet, Macross 7, is launched.
Its destination: the Galactic Core.
The year is now 2045.
These symptoms are unprecedented.
I'm saying that there's
no known treatment, for now.
Why'd you do it?
