[Efrén] The five shadows of Therion
that attracted the curiosity
of those who made
a habit of practicing the dark arts.
[ominous music playing]
Wizards and necromancers
traveled the world far and wide
following their trail,
inevitably leading them to another place
that had been struck by tragedy.
On this particular occasion,
it was to a village where five youths
had recently kidnapped a newborn baby.
Where did they bring him?
To the lake.
- [baby crying]
- [water gurgling]
[Efrén] The shadows first had to
evacuate the soul of the newborn child
in order to offer
a new body as a host their master.
I will serve the master.
[man] It is a long journey
that has brought you here.

half the world in search of him.

A darkness.
They were searching through the bodies
and clinging to the people
who seemed to still be alive.
I panicked and I started running.
And then I fell through a crevasse.
[water dripping]
[Martín] The next thing I remember,
I was waking up in a cave.
The floors and the walls
were all tinted red.
And there was some kind of altar.
Made from these animal bones
and human skeletons.
There was something in there with me.
- [eerie buzzing]
- It was alive.
I could feel it.
Just patiently waiting for me.
[indistinct growling]
I don't know how long I was in there,
I only know I was getting weaker.
Until one day it
it made its move.
- [creature growling]
- [screaming]
The pain was unbelievable.
Almost like it was attaching to my spine.
It was stealing my life from me.
I swear I was so scared that I thought
dying would be better than being
trapped down there with that thing.
I panicked and
I managed to drag myself
through a passage.
At the end there was
just an abyss of darkness.
So I let myself go
and fell into the water.
[splash]
The current carried me
until I got to a rock
and could get myself out of the river.
I was screaming
at the top of my lungs
hoping someone would hear me.
But it just made it
easier for that thing to find me.
And then I sank.
I thought I had died and was in hell.
Until I saw your light.
The shadows seemed to hear the sound
of your footsteps and disappeared.
- The rest you already know.
- [Efrén] Listen, do you hear that?
It's circling the house.
Keep your guard up, all of you.
It won't give up.
[eerie music playing]
It's like thunder and lightning.
But in reverse.
First you hear them
and then you see them.
