Inside The Expanse s01e04 Episode Script
Episode 4
I hope you enjoy the show.
Oh, my god.
Episode four.
Fun episode, big episode.
I love this episode! Sometimes you have to kill.
That is probably gotta be one of the most exciting pieces of television that I have been a part of or seen.
Max burn.
Do not let anyone stay on our tail.
Yes, sir.
It was a massive, massive visual effects extravaganza and I mean, we planned it that way.
Ready? Go! We had gunfights and corridors and zero-g, and wire work and tons of visual effects and massive space battles and huge blue-screen sets.
It was incredibly challenging.
I think they're diverting power to the rail guns.
That means we're in CQB.
- What the hell is CQB? - A close quarter battle.
Who would be insane enough to take on the Donnager in CQB? I remember the scene where we lose our beloved Shed.
Uh, guys Oh, this ain't good at all.
I remember even reading it in the book.
I have never seen that happen on TV, or anywhere.
This is going to calm you right down.
That type of accident, and then that kind of zero gravity reality with the blood, it's just so unbelievably real and disturbing.
And then going even further when the gravity kicks back in again.
That was really a startling chapter from the book that we really wanted to bring to the screen and not screw it up and I hope we've done that.
You know, the number of things that have to happen, it was extremely difficult.
When the round goes through the ship, I mean, that took untold hours to do.
Dominique must have been on the wire for forever.
We aren't even given the opportunity to react to it, because we're being bombarded at the same time, so we have to deal with these realities that are happening, but we can't acknowledge them Damn it.
because we're in the process of being killed.
The Captain has set Condition Zero.
At the end, when we are running across the crossway, the gravity stops and we start floating up, and then I kind of kick Naomi up into the air and then pull her back down.
Those bloody space suits they look fantastic, but they were so uncomfortable.
A good few hours of hanging in the air by my private parts.
But yeah, it was a great episode to shoot, and it was like, back to the action, back to episode four, back to kickin' ass again, it was great.
Go! It was an unbelievable marathon of technical logistics that had to be choreographed like a like a beautiful ballet.
So fun, I mean you know, for that to be what we do for a living.
It was incredible.
I don't think I'm in any condition to - Get us out of here! - You got it.
I'm looking for a girl, her name is Julie.
She discovered something.
Something big.
If Mars and Earth get into a throw down
Oh, my god.
