two-year-old just got hit by a car off Pailet.
man.
That's very bad news.
It doesn't matter how long you've been on the force or how bad you are.
It never gets any easier seeing children get hurt.

Lord, have mercy.
We're up the street from it, and we're en route to see if we can render assistance, any kind of first aid.
where it at, guys? Where it at? Is the baby all right? Where the baby got hit? this is him? Is he hit? who was driving the car? how far you hit her? Well, they say you hit the kid.

I need him checked.
My baby.
that's your baby? Where mama? come on, piggy.

I think if that damage would have come from hitting a two-year-old child no, I'm talking about the little marks on the dirty spot.
Well, he would have went under that car.
yeah, he would have went under that car.
what the lady just told the head E.
M.
S.
on scene, the baby ran out in the street and ran straight into the car.
And that would make sense 'cause all he's got is a bruise on his forehead.
right.
she's the mama.
are you the mama? yes.
E.
M.
S.
, what you think? you better get him looked at, you hear? okay.
all right.
And these little children, they fast, boy.
Somebody got to keep an eye on them, You know what I'm saying? You just really never let them out your sight.
So at this point, I'm pretty convinced that the baby wandered out into the street in front of the car, So the driver's free to go.
Luckily this time, the baby's okay.
So I'm happy this one worked out okay.
Tomorrow we're going to be visiting New Orleans Children's Hospital, and those children need our help more than ever.
Well, this is New Orleans Children's Hospital.
For about 25 years, I've gone to children's hospitals all over the world.
As long as I'm alive, I'll keep doing this.
How y'all doing? all right.

for me, this is the hardest thing in the world to do.
What do you think about that? Yet you don't want to let them see you cry or break down or feel disturbed or anything, Because that would then upset them.
thank you, everybody! so you have to wear sunglasses and really make a strong face all the time.
Look at those faces.
You know, it's a good chance for many of them that there'll be more happy times.
Can I sit right here? yeah.
what you got, brother? uh-huh, well, it sounds to me like you're going to be doing good, brother.
Everybody need time for a break sometime, so you taking yours now.
That just mean later, you'll be busy all the time, You know what I mean? Yeah.
so what we're going to do is, I'm gonna clean your brush.
Try that.
I think if we can make one child smile, we did something.
okay, you can't go in.
Carl, you need to close the door, buddy.
unfortunately, me and my team can't fight disease.
What's going on, baby? But we, at the same time, can make their suffering A little bit easier by coming down and spending time with them.
So we're proud to get the chance to be able to do that.
That's our girl.
What's going on, sister? That's the girl.
what girl? that's the girl we pulled over for driving backwards.
did those guys just drop something? Johnny, put your lights on.

Go get him.
Go get him.
The one in the middle, right there.
which one? him, him.

And all of a sudden, it's a sawed-off shotgun.
Then I got a little bit unhappy.
Back him up a little bit.
To police officers, a shotgun is the ultimate nightmare.
You can blow somebody in half.
what you doing with the shotgun? Hello? What you doing with the shotgun? Just found it on the ground.
How y'all be finding guns? Boy, I never saw no like that.

He had the gun and the dope.
on your knees, on your knees.
Cross your legs.
Just like that.
every single person I've ever caught, I said, "why did you run?" "because you scared me.
" Almost everybody I find with a gun, they found it.
mm, mm, mm.
Boy, you just throwed your little life away.
You know that, huh? You got a shotgun, sawed-off at that, in your possession, concealed.
I had just found Lord, have mercy.
I'm just telling you, You can say you found it all day.
It's under your clothes.
It's concealed.
A sawed-off shotgun, shh.
You just ain't ready for life yet.
It's a damn shame.
all right, sheriff, what do you want to do with these kids? how old is he? he's 17.
how old is he? 17 as well.
call his parents.
Tell them to come down here.
we're gonna charge the other young man with the possession of the sawed-off shotgun.
Both of these young men are still in high school.
So I decided to call their parents and have them come pick them up and counsel and release.
That's your mama? yeah.
oh, you the luckiest man on the face of the earth.
I'm praying for them every day that they will realize that hanging around with bad people, slinging guns, Is going to take them to the graveyard or the hospital or to prison.
I understand this is your son? Well, he's hanging with this boy here.
You don't know him? This is what he's got on him.
And let me tell you something.
This is a road to nowhere right here.
you got your whole life ahead of you, partner.
Sergeant Matthews is gonna take you all home.
all right.
okay, thank you.
good luck to you.
it don't have to be like this, y'all.
You know what I'm saying? It could be easy.
Just watch who you hanging out with.
Think about it, you hear? All right, mama.
all right, thank you.
don't whup him too hard when he get home.
in both of these cases, the moms are hardworking moms Trying to do the right thing, And they're having to deal with all the issues of raising young males.
You know, and it's not easy.
watch your head getting in.
So this individual that we have in the back of the car, he's being transported over to the correctional facility, Where he'll be booked.
let's roll! yeah, let's go.
saddle up.
Go! get the horses ready.
are we ready? I mean, you just never know in situations when you ain't that right, boy? you know, they can up with a pistol sawed-off shotgun down his leg suddenly you're faced with A life-and-death decision on what to do.
what I did was, I shoved his face down to the car and said, "don't make one false move.
" I think your verbiage was a little different.
was it? yes, sir, I think it was.
I think you used the "f" word.
did I say, "don't f-ing move?" I think you used the m-f and the f-s and the m-m-f.
do you think I said, "don't move mother" it was along those lines.
⪠⪠there we go.
all right, y'all.
Everybody ready? ⪠⪠A lot of people know me as an actor, But I've been playing the blues all my life.
⪠⪠After seeing these children in the hospital, I was really moved and asked my band to get together To try to do a concert to raise money for the families in this hospital.
⪠⪠⪠now from Boston down to Austin ⪠⪠Austin to L.
A.
⪠⪠L.
A.
on to Thailand ⪠⪠all the girls, they know my name ⪠⪠I'm a love ⪠⪠I'm a love doctor, baby ⪠give it to me from the top again.
Maybe about two clicks faster.
What do you think? yeah.
Yeah, I like that.
⪠⪠Nietzsche said life would be a mistake without music.
I'm born and raised around people singing, Playing guitar on the porch.
⪠⪠⪠whoa, yeah, love doctor ⪠⪠love doctor, yeah, yeah ⪠I just love music.
I love the blues.
I wouldn't be able to breathe if I couldn't play music.
Also, it feels very, very good to be able to help the children with the music.
⪠oh, yeah ⪠⪠talkin' about the l-l-l-love doctor ⪠⪠⪠⪠love ⪠⪠⪠that'd be a good place to go out, just like that.
Thank y'all.
thank you.
see you tomorrow.
Come on down here.
Yeah, right there.
There's a car up ahead there.
He got no lights on.
He's just turned without signaling.
I don't know what he's doing.
We're gonna go pull him over and see what's happening.
Routine traffic stops are a lot more dangerous than you might think.
They never know why you're stopping them, and you never know who they are or what they might be wanted for.
So you've always got to really stay on your toes.
Did he turn on his lights just now? yeah, we're gonna stop him.
just like that.
Ooh, he's gonna run on us? they running.
Watch out.
this guy's got no lights on.
yeah, we're going to stop him.
just like that.
Ooh, he's gonna run on us? Looks like he's pulling over.
okay, what side you want? I'm just not sure if he's going to get out and run.
step out of your vehicle.
Come over here, man.
Got anything in your pockets? You made a left turn down there with no signal, and then you were driving down this roadway with no lights on.
Then you turned again No, sir, your lights were not on.
he just didn't signal, and then he shut his lights out.
You know, when people act funny, when they don't signal, When they turn out their lights, usually it means something.
can I get an 84-85 on a white van? And if you can copy, I need a 86-87 on the driver.
if we see something suspicious, We're going to see what's going on.
That's our job.
That's how we keep the streets safe.
all right, 10-4, thank you.
is there a warrant? it's 74, criminal neglect of children.
juvenile neglect can a 4th district unit Come meet me at Newton and Cumberland? we determined that he had an outstanding warrant for juvenile nonsupport.
So we'll stand by and wait for a beat car, which is the car that normally handles this area in and around here.
He'll come over and transport the individual to our correctional facility.
how much money is owed? $1,200? yeah.
Ohh, man.
you have to understand children need to be taken care of.
They need a father, and they need child support.
You just--you got to do it.
You got to do it.
appreciate you all coming out.
all right, I got you.
Beautiful.
all right, let's roll.
are we ready? yeah, let's go.
we're getting ready to wrap it up for the night.
boys, come on over here.
Let's have a little talk.
pretty good night, man.
boy, don't touch me.
are you tired, Lawrence? no.
My body tired.
all right, well, tomorrow night, I wanted to invite all my team to the show.
I got tickets for everybody.
that sounds good, chief.
appreciate it.
I'll definitely be there.
yeah, I'd say.
excellent, well, thank you all for the hard work tonight, and I'll see y'all tomorrow night.
Thanks, guys.
see you later.
thank you, sir.
all right, Lawrence, thank you.
thank you, Lawrence.
We in the great State of Louisiana check, check, check, check, check, check.
and we fixin' to do a concert to benefit the Children's Hospital here in New Orleans.
I love children.
The people who love me and know me know that.
Come here.
We're fixing to do a little prayer here.
heavenly father, let us be entertainers tonight.
Father, let us bless the people.
Let us make them happy.
Amen.
All: Amen.
let's knock 'em dead.
all right, amen.
I want y'all to make a bunch of noise for this man.
Y'all please put your hands together for Steven Seagal! thank you for that.
I'm so happy to be back in Louisiana.
Sheriff Newell Normand is here tonight and all of my boys.
Thank y'all for coming tonight.
⪠⪠⪠⪠⪠I went down to Mississippi ⪠⪠and I tried to beg a ride ⪠⪠I saw Jesus and the Devil ⪠⪠they were walkin' side by side ⪠⪠then someone took me to a restaurant ⪠⪠and I had to eat somethin' fast ⪠⪠I ordered me some chicken, they gave me ⪠⪠alligator ass ⪠⪠all right ⪠⪠⪠I really think it's through kindness and generosity That Steven's willing to give back to the community.
and I can tell you I've been friends with Steven Seagal for about He can truly play a guitar, but I'm not so sure he knows how to dance.
⪠⪠I'd never seen Steven perform before, and it was awesome.
He did a real, real great job.
We had a lot of people here tonight, and I think he did very good for the Children's Hospital.
you know, I love police work because I get to give back to the community.
But putting on a concert like this and being able to raise money for the children's cancer ward is one of the greatest feelings you could ever have.
And I know how hard it is for families to deal with this illness, And they really need all the help they can get.
⪠⪠⪠yeah ⪠⪠⪠thank you!
Yeah.

Beautiful.
all right, let's roll.

pretty good night, man.

are you tired, Lawrence? no.
My body tired.
all right, well, tomorrow night, I wanted to invite all my team to the show.
I got tickets for everybody.

thank you, Lawrence.
