MAN [ON RADIO.]
: and the criminal in the series of recent hit-and-run cases is still at large and the police are stepping up [STATIC CRACKLING.]
[SIGHS.]
[CRASHING.]
Hey! What the hell? [WOMAN WHIMPERING.]
[WOMAN SCREAMS.]
So we've got a murder-for-insurance case and a car accident.
I don't think we have any incidents requiring hunters here.
And no clues for Dad's whereabouts either.
Hmm.
I wonder where Dad is now.
[GRUNTS.]
- What the hell was that for? - You're making a mess of my Impala.
SAM: That doesn't mean you can throw away my food.
[SIREN WAILING.]
OFFICER 1: You in the Impala, pull over now.
What the hell? SAM: Because you threw my food out the window.
DEAN: I'm sorry.
I'll go pick it up.
OFFICER 1: Put both hands on the hood.
Listen.
You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Hey, wait a minute.
OFFICER 2: The two suspects are in custody.
DEAN: What the? I'm Rod, the chief of police.
Hit-and-runs and rear-end collisions.
Thirty-six residents in this town were killed by a black Impala this past year.
Why do you only target the residents of this town? It wasn't us.
We've never been to this town before.
ROD: Don't play dumb.
You think there are many cars like yours out there? - Same year, same model? - That doesn't prove anything.
- Put them in jail.
- Yes, sir.
DEAN: Hey.
OFFICER: Come this way.
DEAN: So, Sam, did you meet the police chief? Yeah.
He's impossible.
DEAN: They're gonna hang us if we can't get through to them.
SAM: Well, let's hope for a trial at least.
Otherwise, if it's up to them they'll come up with the most outrageous accusations.
You gotta be kidding me.
[DOOR OPENS THEN CLOSES.]
Hmm.
MAN: Hello.
What are you doing? - Deputy chief, sir.
- Your tie is crooked.
Oh, thank you.
As I always say, well dressed and well groomed at all times.
- I'm so sorry.
- Pay attention, all right? Yes, sir.
- Well? - Not making any headway.
MAN: What are you doing? What makes you think you can burn through with that? Just wait.
I'm getting you out.
Mm.
Who are you? MICHAEL: Michael.
I guess you could say I'm the chief's younger brother.
- Chief? You mean? MICHAEL: Now.
Quickly.
[FOOTSTEPS RECEEDING.]
MICHAEL: I really have to apologize for him.
We lost our parents when we were young, so it's been just the two of us.
I've been really fed up with all the selfish things my brother does.
I didn't want to become a cop to begin with, you know but he forced me because it's been the tradition of the McGregor family.
So I asked him to let me be a female officer.
But then I thought I'd get killed.
Don't you think that's just mean? Sorry to interrupt.
Thanks for the help and all but can we get going? MICHAEL: Oh, dear.
I'm so sorry.
- Thank you, Michael.
But why are you letting us go? MICHAEL: We can't just keep innocent people in jail, can we? The killer may not even be human anymore.
- What do you mean by that? MICHAEL: I'm just joking.
It's just, you two are yummy and my type.
Farewell.
Promise me you won't ever come back to this town.
- Now, hurry on, boys.
DEAN: All right.
[ENGINE REVVING.]
What are you doing in my room? ROD: I got a call from the station.
They said the two suspects escaped.
Really? You let them go, didn't you? - Didn't you? MICHAEL: So, what if I did? You know as well as I do that they're not guilty.
ROD: Come again? You don't want the truth to come out, so you're blaming it on someone else.
That is so lame.
Don't tell me you told them about it.
No, I didn't.
How could I? MICHAEL: The killer may not even be human anymore.
Let's go back.
It's been bugging you, hasn't it? But Michael went through all that trouble to break us free.
True.
Let's just stand by and watch more people fall victim to that Impala.
[TIRES SCREECHING.]
[GROANS.]
Hey, take it easy.
I'm not doing this for you, okay? Yeah, yeah.
What are we gonna do with our car? If we take it back there, we'll just get caught again.
It'll be fine.
I have a plan.
DEAN: This is not fine.
This is so not fine.
SAM: The paint is water-based.
It'll be fine.
- That's not the point.
Let me tell you something.
A car is We need to meet up with Michael and talk to him in person.
How can we get in touch with him? MICHAEL: I told you not to come back.
So, what did you wanna talk about? You may not realize this, but I'm very busy.
SAM: We're sorry.
- What is it? - Michael, I'll get right down to it.
Could you tell us everything you know about the Impala murders? MICHAEL: What do you mean? You can read all about them in the paper or online.
DEAN: "The killer may not even be human anymore.
" Isn't that what you said? MICHAEL: Did I? Really? SAM: Michael.
We may be able to stop the tragedies that are happening around here.
We're good at dealing with those who are not human.
- Meaning? - Michael, we are MICHAEL: Wait.
Oh, no.
My brother and the others.
[DOOR OPENS.]
MICHAEL: Don't turn around.
Is it really true what you say? ROD: Move it.
[DOOR CLOSES.]
ROD: Did you see the Impala out there? OFFICER: Impala? ROD: The white one.
- Come with me.
OFFICER: Yes, sir.
We feel bad, Michael.
Now that you've done this, you're in deep.
MICHAEL: Forget it.
Now, tell me more about what you were saying.
DEAN: I don't know where to start.
SAM: Basically, we're hunters who specialize in everything other than humans and animals.
[TIRES SCREECHING.]
[SAM GRUNTS.]
SAM: Don't stop so suddenly! MICHAEL: Are you being serious? Don't you believe that the killer is not human? I DEAN: Michael.
It may attack someone else tonight.
Before it comes to that I understand.
I'll tell you everything.
MICHAEL: One day, two summers ago a call came in to the station.
[RINGING.]
We were told that a man had robbed a New Orleans bank and had just escaped to our town driving a black Impala.
Under my brother Rod's command the police set up a checkpoint on the highway.
Lo and behold, a young man in a black Impala showed up.
Everybody was excited.
We'd never dealt with a vicious felon like that before.
We pursued him.
The young man was cornered.
He took a wrong turn, crashed through the guardrail and plunged off the cliff to his death.
My brother and the others thought he deserved it.
But immediately after that, we received some unexpected news.
Turned out the real felon had been caught in another town.
The young man in the black Impala, whose death we caused was just some innocent guy passing through town.
Afraid that their blunder might get exposed the police, including my brother, buried the case.
And not just the police.
The entire town buried the incident.
Ever since then only the residents of this town have been targeted by that Impala.
I don't like this town, or Rod, but It'll be fine.
We'll take care of it.
First, we need you to take us to the place where the young man died.
MICHAEL: Salt? DEAN: Yeah.
We have to pour salt on the body and the car, and then burn them.
- That's kind of underwhelming.
- Well, that's how we put the spirit to rest.
- But that makes it all the more real.
- Like we said, we're the real deal.
MICHAEL: That makes sense.
Oh, I know.
We can get salt at the store up the street.
Listen, Michael, can we go back to pick up my Impala? MICHAEL: What? We have our tools and stuff in there, you know, for the job.
But you said you just needed salt and fire, didn't you? It's too risky to go back.
Come on, Dean.
Give it a rest.
We'll get it after we do this thing, okay? Damn it, man.
I just can't stand imagining what those barbarians might be doing to my beloved car.
- It's not your girlfriend.
- No.
She's far more than that.
That's exactly why you can't hold a relationship with a real girl.
DEAN: Hey, don't treat me like a geek.
SAM: You are a geek.
DEAN: I'm not a geek.
[MICHAEL CHUCKLES.]
I'm sorry.
You two remind me of Rod and I.
- In that case, you're Michael.
- Why am I Michael? You're younger.
Now, that's rude.
Don't shove me around like that.
Anyway, brothers are wonderful, aren't they? No matter how much they fight, in the end, they still love each other.
- Oh, no.
Don't take it the wrong way.
DEAN: Yeah, we know.
Damn it.
MICHAEL: Please.
Hear me out, Rod.
These boys are hunters who specialize in demons and evil spirits.
They can help us.
Aah! Out of the car.
[CAR DOOR OPENS.]
[SOBBING.]
[ENGINE REVVING.]
MICHAEL: What the? [LAUGHS.]
It's totally useless.
MICHAEL: You in the Impala, hold it.
Those two are innocent.
SAM: Michael.
Come on.
I'll take you on.
- Michael.
- A decoy? [PANTING.]
DEAN: Hey.
Take us to where you buried the Impala, now.
ROD: This is quite an elaborate prank.
But don't you dare think you can make me talk that easily.
What is it you're really after? Money? [SIGHS.]
- You're dumb as hell.
- Why, you [TIRES SCREECHING.]
[CRASHING.]
What the hell are you thinking? You saw that Impala show up, didn't you? We know for a fact that it was a ghost.
SAM: You're gonna keep doing this even after you got your brother killed? ROD: I'm gonna go blast the hell out of that Impala.
Then you're definitely gonna need our help.
What makes you think I trust occult crazies like you bastards? You don't need to trust us.
We're not doing it for you.
We're doing it for Michael.
ROD: That's it over there.
No mistake.
SAM: Where's the driver? ROD: In the car.
[ROD PANTING.]
ROD: Are you sure this is going to do it? We cleansed him with salt and fire.
Let's just hope this will calm him down.
[ANIMAL HOWLING.]
[ENGINE REVVING.]
Guess not.
DEAN: What the hell? SAM: I don't get it.
DEAN: Let's get out of here.
[ALL SCREAM.]
Damn it.
The gas tank is busted.
What's going on? We burned the car and the body.
Sam.
That's it.
We're not done yet.
The skid mark the driver left just before he died.
SAM: Dean, get the gasoline ready.
Come back.
No.
There's no time.
DEAN: Damn it.
Holy shit.
We'll never make it beyond this curve.
SAM: That's him! Watch out! [ALL SCREAM.]
- Slow down.
- Why? There's a sharp curve ahead.
It's where Michael was killed.
[TIRES SCREECHING.]
You should've told me that a long time ago! [GRUNTING.]
[MOANS.]
ROD: Is that you, Michael? - That spot is - Yeah.
The exact spot where Michael died.
What are you doing over there? Quit smiling and come home with me.
Listen, you can quit the police force.
You can even quit being a guy.
Without you, I'd have no one to fight with.
That would be boring.
Too boring.
I wouldn't be able to stand it.
[GASPS.]
ROD: Hey.
Are you sure? Won't you get fired for letting us go? ROD: Then so be it.
I'll go pay my dues.
Is that so.
Farewell.
Yeah.
