The Getaway (2024) s01e04 Episode Script
As Loyal As Can Be
- MS. TERRY:
Last time, on The Getaway
- Oh, nice! Okay.
Okay, so it's just me.
It's just— There's no others.
- I hope they forgive us.
- I just wanna check,
what are your feelings
on Georgia right now?
- I think that Georgia is
the perfect player,
and I'm scared of her.
- Yesterday, I said,
I basically said
I'd take a bullet for you guys.
You gotta be kidding me
if you're telling me
I'm gonna take a bullet
from you guys.
- MS. TERRY: Players, thank you
for casting your votes
for the first half
of this elimination vote.
Tomorrow, all four of you will
complete another challenge
with safety on the line.
And winning it will protect you
from elimination tomorrow.
(Georgia sighs)
- Holy jeez.
- I feel pretty pissed off actually.
Yeah, I mean, it's really
hard to play a game
when the rules
of the game change.
Puts me in a weak position.
I don't like that.
- I feel like Judas himself
after voting my only
verbal ally out of the game.
That's it.
(stammers, laughs)
- You have gotten rid
of someone
that you enjoy and you're close to,
and now they look at you
like the villain.
And I am.
In more ways than one.
- But the big priority now is
to talk to Georgia
and say what I did.
I will say, if she is playing me,
what a great way to lose.
It will be a satisfying defeat
if she's 4D chess'd this thing.
- GEORGIA: Oh, hi.
- STEVEN: (giggles) Hello.
- (laughs) You're good.
I didn't know you were a part of it.
- You were like, "Leave."
So when I was talking to Foreign,
I asked him what
he thought about you.
And the reason I did that
is not to pitch you two
against each other,
but I thought that if he
If Foreign thinks that
we are super aligned
- No, no, I think
you're brilliant, smart.
I'm with you.
- So you can do the same thing,
but I wanted you to know,
I promise you,
I back you till the very end.
- I don't think that anyone
should think that we're aligned.
- Exactly, that's why I said it, so—
- I think that's a brilliant move.
And I actually was
going to say to you,
make sure that
we don't chill too much.
And they already think
that we're too close,
and we'll be voted out,
because right now—
- You feel free
to do the same thing,
and go for it, but I'm still
- And what we will—
- Pinky swear?
- You don't even have to.
You don't even have to.
I totally
It'll be interesting tomorrow.
- Yeah, I'm gonna have to
make sure he doesn't get safety.
- Yeah, yep, yep, yep.
- I'll try and
get it myself, I guess.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, you wanna go back,
and then I'll come back
in a second?
- I mean
Everything's still working.
I especially feel good
that our magician hasn't
seen all our misdirection.
Onward?
Yes.
♫ (bluesy big-band music)
- Let's address
the elephant in the room.
- Alright, yeah, guys.
We're playing a game.
It is 100% fine.
- No, but I mean—
- That was like, "Sorry, pause."
Stop being so polite.
You wanna have some
tension in the car.
- Yeah, it's okay, it's okay.
(Georgia giggles)
It'll come, don't worry.
(others laughing)
- "It's a game, but fuck you!"
- SAM: We know that Patch is,
you know
decently suspicious.
Maybe less so today, but
- Yeah.
Although I will say,
Steven took me aside
earlier today
to be like,
"Is there going to be a twist?
Is there going to be"
He clearly is thinking.
And I think all of them
are thinking
There's something
There's something else.
- SAM: Yeah.
- So going into day four,
I think we all agree that
we can get a little
a little weird with it.
Because you know, again,
we think that they are all
expecting some kind of twist,
but none of them
really know what.
And we can keep misdirecting
them if we want.
- Okay, okay, okay, okay.
This is enough.
Let's be real here.
- We can be real.
We can be real.
- I ain't gonna lie,
if this was me,
it would have been a totally
different tone we was taking.
- Okay, perhaps.
You are the one
I wanted to ask the most.
Okay, you, I've been like,
your best friend
the whole time.
I thought we were
rock solid, bro.
What happened?
Tell me, please.
- Honestly, the reason why
is because I knew that there was
a bona fide alliance against you.
And I truly, after considering
what both of them were saying
I really was trying to figure out
if you were the Snitch or not.
- Okay.
- And that maybe
you played upon our friendship
to insulate yourself.
- Okay.
- And disguise what
I should probably say,
your deception, as bluntness.
- Okay.
How do you feel now?
- Knowing that we still have
a whole challenge that
will decide the fate
where you could
still get security
Yeah, yeah, it makes me
extremely uncomfortable.
- Mhm.
- So, we do need to
feed their suspicions
that there is something
going on with this game.
Because otherwise, I think that
they're going to piece it together.
- Yeah, they're going
to think it's too simple
- Yeah.
- and get suspicious.
- And I think that
we just need them
to think that there's
something going on
that they just can't
possibly figure out.
- So we've been planting
the Snitches for a while
with the whole Ms. Terry
thing here.
- Which, to be clear
Not— That doesn't matter.
- ADAM: It's a clear red herring.
- Yeah, yeah.
- There's no Ms. Terry.
- So Amy, in the
first prep meeting,
did a massive presentation
about the lore of Ms. Terry,
that is all just random stuff
that she made up
to throw them off.
- AMY: The first known crime
attributed to Ms. Terry
was in 1979.
It was a vending machine theft
at a high school in
Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She stole the
Declaration of Independence.
No, she didn't.
But most people assume
that National Treasure
was based on her.
A previous accomplice of hers
did have an engineering background
and built her the phone.
They had a falling out.
On a potentially related note,
he is now dead.
- They were taking notes.
(Adam chokes laugh)
- Yeah.
- Here's the thing.
So in movies,
the best way to hide a twist
is to have them ask
another question.
- Yes.
- Right?
So you don't want them asking,
"How many Snitches are there?"
You want them asking,
"Who is Ms. Terry?"
And I think we want to feed that.
I think the best way to
do that is to use Matt.
- Yeah.
- As a little prop.
- So I think we were thinking of
putting him in a costume, basically.
And letting the cast
"accidentally" see him.
- Just something totally nuts,
like we dress Matt as a chicken,
as an astronaut, and we
just send him out there.
- But I think that the
most logical thing would do
is to dress him as Ms. Terry.
- That's true.
- But it's like, if they
pull up to a thing
Matt's already there
in a dress, and he sees them,
and then panics, scurries off.
- BEN: Go away.
- The obvious conclusion
is it's a Ms. Terry thing.
- Yeah.
- BEN: But they don't know what.
- And they don't know why.
'Cause we've been planting
the seed of Ms. Terry.
I think we need to
keep pushing that.
- SAM: For sure, for sure, agreed.
- We're gonna drive them nuts.
(Adam giggles)
- That's the goal.
- Oh man.
- STEVEN: We made it to day
The second last day.
Day four?
We made it to day four.
- GEORGIA: (applauds)
Amazing, congratulations.
- PATCH: You should all be
proud of that by itself.
- It is kind of wild
that, you know, Patch
- And I'm still here.
- You're here.
(Georgia and Steven crack up)
We're all very disappointed.
- You can't get rid of me
that easy, okay?
- You're very hard to kill.
But I think you're
the underdog in this
right now, because
- Does that mean
you're rooting for me?
I'm going to take that as a yes.
(scattered laughter)
- I mean, I know
What is your strategy
going into this?
Because the only way that you—
- So we can thwart it.
- Yeah, and just, hypothetically
- Tell us all your strategy.
- Hypothetically tell us all your
- Because I mean,
you already got all the
votes headed your way.
And the only way that
you're going to stay here
is if you get safety.
- Is if I'm good at the game?
- I actually don't know—
- That seems
like a safe bet to me.
- To win, is your strategy to win?
- My— As it always has been
my strategy is to be
a good team player,
win the challenges for us.
That's all we gotta do, okay?
I think I will prove to you
that I am as loyal as can be.
(door rolls open)
(phone ringing)
- Damn, it's hot out here!
- MS. TERRY: Good morning,
and welcome to the site
of your fourth challenge:
the city of Moab.
Today, you will randomly
split into two teams
by drawing chips out of a bag.
You will then have
30 minutes and $100
to buy everything
on my shopping list.
For every dollar
you spend or lose,
$10 will move
into the Snitch Stash.
For every dollar you bring back,
$10 will be kept safe
in the Loyal Loot.
Any item you do not
acquire in 30 minutes
will count as 20 spent dollars.
And, to up the stakes,
the team that keeps the
most money in the Loyal Loot
will earn safety from
tonight's elimination
for both team members.
Good luck.
- Gosh, okay.
- Oh, wow.
- Oh my gosh,
two people get safety?
That's absolutely wild.
- Oh my god.
Okay, who wants to—
I'll hold the bag.
Who wants to choose?
Do you want to choose?
- PATCH: I'll go for it.
Okay.
(Foreign Man whistles)
- Oh my god.
- Okay.
- Yeah.
- Chip one.
Oh, I got two, okay.
I guess it's us, alright!
(laughs) Let's get it!
Okay.
- Alright. Let's do it.
- Alright.
- MS. TERRY:
Three, two, one
Go!
- Yeah, this way.
- STEVEN: Let's go, let's go!
- Alright!
(Georgia eeps)
- Go, go, go!
- Okay, let's take a look.
- What's it say?
- Okay.
- What do we got?
What do we got?
- We have something
that bears the name of a place
that is not/is not in Utah.
- Okay, perfect.
- Something with
one of your teammate's
first or last names on it.
- Something with a VW bus on it.
Something battery powered.
- A pen that writes in any colour
other than blue, red, or black.
- Okay.
- A rock the same color
as the pen.
- A food Dan has never eaten.
- Okay.
- A food Dan has never eaten?
- Dan?
- How the hell do
we know what Dan's diet is?
- Okay, we gotta go.
Electronics, electronics.
Battery powered is easy.
Can we jaywalk, are you ready?
- Yeah, I'm ready to jaywalk.
- After this RV.
D'aah!
- Oh, come on!
- Okay, what's the strategy?
- Okay, so one
of the things is that
I think that it's really amazing
that we are doing a challenge
that is really made
for Scottish people.
I've got this.
I really think I've got this.
- Well, let's walk and talk.
- Let's do it, okay.
- Let's go.
- Okay, what do we have here?
Easy to find names in here.
- [The] T-Shirt Shop?
- Easy, let's do names.
There's guaranteed
to find names here.
- Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
And there's also got
locations on this as well?
- PATCH: Yes, true, true, true.
- STEVEN:
I'm finding it very difficult
to figure out whether
or not going for safety
is optimal or not.
But in that moment
I'm too in my head about
getting the challenge done
and getting safety.
Even though getting safety
isn't my number one priority.
Jeep, wait, hold on.
Something that has
a VW bus on it.
- No names, no names.
Okay, we have names.
I don't know what
these cards are, even.
Giving it my all was the only
thing I could possibly do,
because suspicion is already
basically at its maximum for me,
and I needed to win that safety.
Patrick, okay, okay.
Steven!
- Yes?
- I have my name.
- You got your name?
- I have my first name.
- Great, awesome.
There might be something
with a VW bus here.
It's just hard to see,
but there's lots of options.
Okay, great.
Oh, we can't buy something else
from the same shop.
- We can't do it.
- Okay, so we can only get
one thing per store.
- Let us take a look.
Hi.
- Top of the morning.
- Could I ask you
a very strange question?
- Spelt the same way
as your name?
- Yep, Patrick.
Howdy, could I purchase this card?
How much for it?
Perfect!
(laughs) You keep this.
- Thank you.
- Thanks so much, okay.
Alright, one down.
Excellent.
- Okay, let's figure out
what— okay.
Should we just see
what the next shop is,
and then see if there's an option?
- Yeah, yeah.
We're by electronics.
That'll be a piece of cake.
- Do you have
any unusual foods here?
The stranger, the better.
- All-natural raspberry hard candies.
- Can we take one
all-natural raspberry candy?
Would that be possible?
Yes!
I tried as hard as I can to win
because there's a chance
that I could get voted out.
And then it doesn't matter
how much money I have,
because I'm no longer
here to claim it.
So I actually had to win.
- Can we purchase that
from you for—
- No, no, we're going to
get it for free.
She's giving it to us.
- You are the kindest.
I didn't have to try
that hard of a challenge
given that Georgia is honestly
the Swiss army knife
of being cheap.
Honestly, even if
I tried to sabotage it,
Georgia wouldn't let me.
It was just too obvious
if I tried to sabotage it.
- Thank you so very much.
- You're welcome, have fun.
- Okay, one, let's go.
- FOREIGN:
Alright, that's one down.
- Jewelry, let's do jewelry.
Jewelry has a lot
of ornamental stuff.
Let's check it out.
Might be expensive, though.
- Oh, it really could be.
- Okay, it'll be
something small like this.
VW bus, VW bus.
- GEORGIA: Oh, this is it.
Hi!
- Hi!
I was wondering—
- Sorry, we're doing
a little bit of a hunt.
So we may ask you
some questions.
- Do you have anything here
with a VW bus logo on it?
- SHOPKEEPER:
We've got the mugs.
- The mugs.
- Mugs?
- Oh, perfect.
- (gasps)
Yes, yes, yes, yes!
- Yeah! Nice, nice!
Let's get it, let's get it, okay.
- 30 bucks though.
- It's 30 bucks, though.
It'd be cheaper—
- We only have seven items.
- It'd be cheaper
just not get it, you know?
- Oh, because if we lose time,
we get fined $20.
- Not getting it is only $20.
- Very good catch.
- Okay.
- STEVEN: I didn't realise
it would be so difficult
in these challenges to sabotage.
When you learn
the rules of a challenge,
you're thrown into it,
and you have to strategise
whilst you're on a time pressure.
Not or is not Utah.
Do you have anything that
bears the name of a place
that is not or is not in Utah?
(shopkeeper and Patch laugh)
Yes?
- Okay, light bulb.
Turkey?
- Wait, that technically counts.
It bears the name.
That absolutely counts.
Let's just find something made
in China, and we're golden.
What about these hats?
I probably
shouldn't have suggested,
"What about the
made in wherever label?"
Which I think was
the first thought I had.
But it's a really weird thing.
You're sort of trying to do
two things at once,
which is like, play the game,
but then not play it quite well,
and then think about
how to not play the game
whilst looking like
you're playing the game
being a team player.
- It says California.
It says California on it.
- I'm down for this if you want,
but there'll be literally
a million things
that say "made in China".
You wanna do it and
just get it done?
- I think, yeah, I think
that's all we're getting here.
- No, no, no, that's fine.
- Okay.
- $14.14.
- Thanks a bunch,
really appreciate it.
- Okay.
(Steven grunts)
Right, we're good.
Okay, so
- Is there anything
that is free or almost free?
It's a money-based challenge.
- FOREIGN: Or that you
A free bin?
- Where's the free bin?
Where's the— Oh, I love you.
- FOREIGN: Thank you!
- Vermont, Vermont!
Vermont's not in Utah.
- Absolutely.
(Georgia laughs)
We did it. Thank you!
- I love you.
I love you!
- Alright, thank you.
- Right. Next.
Let's do this, come on.
- Hi.
- Sorry!
- Sorry, sorry!
- Excuse me!
- Okay.
- T-shirts.
- T-shirt.
- This is amazing.
- Hi.
- Hi, we're doing a
little bit of a treasure hunt.
- SHOPKEEPER: Okay.
- Moab Made.
This'll have trinkets.
We could look for a pen
or look for rocks.
What do you think?
- Yeah, well,
let's look for rocks first,
because finding a rock
might be hard.
- Well, I don't know.
If we find a rock,
we have to make sure
the pen matches the rock.
- That's what I mean, yeah.
But I mean, it might be
just hard to find a rock.
- But finding a pen
that doesn't have the color.
- Oh, here's some rocks.
These gotta be—
- But we need the pen first.
- Yes, I know, I know, but—
- Otherwise we spend the money.
- Yeah, I know.
- Bailey, Derek, Erica.
Oh, I'm doing this bad.
I'm sorry.
B, C
- Patrick.
- H, H.
So it's already—
- Patrick definitely—
- Goddess.
They didn't know my name
really is Goddess.
Did no one say?
My name really is
actually Goddess.
- Howdy, do you have anything
that bears the image
of the VW bus?
- Sticker?
- Anything?
Yeah, a sticker
would be perfect.
- Only vans.
Do you know anywhere else
that's within a very short walk
that might have something like this?
- You can check
our sister store, Arteesian,
- across the—
It's just in the corner here.
- Arteesian? Thank you
so much, appreciate it.
Have a nice day.
- I think we gotta just roll with it.
Oh man, we're probably
one-third through it already.
- It's okay, because we're
gonna get electronics nailed.
We can get a pen, no bother.
And any shop that sells
a bunch of sweets
What do you call it in America?
Candy.
- Yeah.
- We can find some obscure candy
Dan hasn't eaten, no bother.
- I don't see any Ps.
- Anything that
might have 'Peter' on it?
- SHOPKEEPER: We can check
back in the card book.
- A book?
One that says Peter?
- Peter. Is it very affordable?
Is it very expensive for these?
- Excellent.
- Love you.
- Thank you.
(Georgia cackles)
Okay.
- Let's do this!
Oh, this is so awesome.
- Here we come.
You are amazing.
- SHOPKEEPER:
It's gonna be one dollar.
- Thank you.
Okay, we have to go hurry up.
- Have a good one.
- The VW bus is tricky though.
It, maybe, you want
to deprioritise.
We need to, if we just go to—
If we go to any shop that sells—
What?
Did we take something?
Hey, how's it going?
(gasps) You're a genius.
- Oh, yes!
- Yes, please.
- Oh, god bless you.
(both chuckle exhaustedly)
- Van life.
It even says van life.
- It does, it does.
- That's VW, right?
- We're on it.
- $4.35.
- Oh, perfect, thank you.
- SHOPKEEPER: Here you go.
- Thank you so much!
- Oh, you're an absolute hero.
- Alright, alright,
keep it moving, keep it moving.
Okay, rocks will be common.
We need to find a pen that's
not blue, black, red, right?
- Hi.
- FOREIGN: Hi.
- Do you have anything
with a V8—
VW bus on it perhaps?
- Keychain?
- We have a mug?
Oh, that's perfect.
- Alright, how much are we talking?
- How much is it? 'Cause we're on a—
Is there any chance that
we could have a discount on it?
You don't do any discounts?
- Should we try Arteesian
and see if they have a pen?
- Yeah, good idea.
- It's probably
an expensive pen,
but they'll be cheap anyway.
- Okay, go ahead.
- Hello, do you have
any pens for sale?
Okay.
- Well, they do rocks here,
so we can find a pen.
- Okay, we'll come back.
We have to buy a pen first. (laughs)
Thank you!
- Love ya.
Oh books!
Books will have pens, right?
- Books will have pens.
- You write on paper.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Howdy, any chance that there
are pens for sale in here?
- Do you happen to sell pens
that has any color, like
an orange or a green pen?
- SHOPKEEPER:
We have black, that's it.
- Okay, thank you.
- FOREIGN:
So here we were, at this point,
I'm seeing that Georgia's
getting everything for free.
I was just like, damn.
As a Snitch, the scoreboard
is looking hideous for me.
I gotta find a way to go and
get a little bit of something.
You know what I'm saying?
- Okay, and this is good
for a bus place.
- Okay. Alright, so the bus—
- Or do you wanna just get it?
- Let's just get it.
- Okay, go get it, go get it.
'Cause I don't think
that we're gonna find
anything else for the bus.
- FOREIGN:
I was like, alright.
It seems like she's forgetting
that there's a $20 penalty
for anything that we don't do.
But, she actually got something
that cost more than the penalty.
Which was just my little bit
of way of getting back
some money
into the Snitch Stash.
$30.
- I know, it's so much, god.
This goes against my nature, but
(Foreign Man snickers)
I'm going to put
the change in here,
because it might be the—
It might be what saves us.
I don't think
that I paid attention enough
when the description
of what was happening
in the game
that it was $20.
So definitely that was
a huge error on my part
not to pay attention to
the rules of the game.
- Alright.
Thank you.
- Thank you so very much.
(whispering)
Okay, let's go, let's go.
What— We have the names.
We need to get something
that's battery powered.
- Oh, the pens in your pen jar,
are there any that
you're not attached to,
that you could part with
for like a dollar?
- Wait, this—
- STEVEN: We can have it?
Thank you so much.
We got a free pen.
- A free pen? What color is it?
- It's— Oh yeah, it has to—
Yeah, sorry.
I go into the shop,
and I see that there's pens,
and I'm trying to get
the pen that's just in the pot
that the storekeeper owns.
I'm there not even realising
that the pen colour
has to be different.
There's just a lot that
has to be factored in.
And unluckily,
Patch does realise
that I'm about to get a pen
that isn't helpful.
Oh gosh, I totally forgot
about the colour of the pen.
Good catch.
- You said $5.50?
- SHOPKEEPER: $5.82.
- Okay, there you go.
I think that's $6.
- Electronics store across the road.
- Oh, electronics store where?
- It's only right there.
- Okay, we have to do
a thing, come on!
- Yeah, we need
to get onto the crosswalk.
- I'm just gonna
ask here for a pen!
Okay, just in case,
because we're here.
Hi, do you work here?
- SHOPKEEPER: I do.
- Do you have
any colored pens?
Perhaps in a green
or an orange
or any color that's not
black, blue, or red?
I'm going into the store,
and when I open the door,
I'm hoping to find that
there's some sort of pen.
So I'm like, "Hey! Can I look
through the box of pens?
And can I take
the pen that's there?"
Because I'm sure I saw
a pen that's there.
And luckily, she called it a pen.
Oh, dry erase pen?
That's okay.
Dry erase pen will count.
- FOREIGN: Okay.
- I will bring it back, I promise.
Thank you!
- FOREIGN: Thank you so much.
- It means so much to us.
Come on, let's go!
- Thanks so much.
- Back to the rock place, right?
- Yeah.
- Thank you! Ooh, god.
- Okay, very nice.
- Hello, nice to see you again.
About those
green rocks you have
- Okay, my thoughts?
We get a rock,
we make it green.
- Good idea.
Right here.
Rocks.
- Okay, come here.
- Take the smallest rock.
- Come here,
take a tiny, tiny rock.
Find a tiny rock.
- Right here.
- GEORGIA:
Small? How small is it?

what both of them were saying
I really was trying to figure out
if you were the Snitch or not.
- Okay.
- And that maybe
you played upon our friendship
to insulate yourself.
- Okay.
- And disguise what
I should probably say,
your deception, as bluntness.
- Okay.
How do you feel now?
- Knowing that we still have
a whole challenge that
will decide the fate
where you could
still get security
Yeah, yeah, it makes me
extremely uncomfortable.
- Mhm.
- So, we do need to
feed their suspicions
that there is something
going on with this game.
Because otherwise, I think that
they're going to piece it together.
- Yeah, they're going
to think it's too simple
- Yeah.
- and get suspicious.
- And I think that
we just need them
to think that there's
something going on
that they just can't
possibly figure out.
- So we've been planting
the Snitches for a while
with the whole Ms. Terry
thing here.
- Which, to be clear
Not— That doesn't matter.
- ADAM: It's a clear red herring.
- Yeah, yeah.
- There's no Ms. Terry.
- So Amy, in the
first prep meeting,
did a massive presentation
about the lore of Ms. Terry,
that is all just random stuff
that she made up
to throw them off.
- AMY: The first known crime
attributed to Ms. Terry
was in 1979.
It was a vending machine theft
at a high school in
Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She stole the
Declaration of Independence.
No, she didn't.
But most people assume
that National Treasure
was based on her.
A previous accomplice of hers
did have an engineering background
and built her the phone.
They had a falling out.
On a potentially related note,
he is now dead.
- They were taking notes.
(Adam chokes laugh)
- Yeah.
- Here's the thing.
So in movies,
the best way to hide a twist
is to have them ask
another question.
- Yes.
- Right?
So you don't want them asking,
"How many Snitches are there?"
You want them asking,
"Who is Ms. Terry?"
And I think we want to feed that.
I think the best way to
do that is to use Matt.
- Yeah.
- As a little prop.
- So I think we were thinking of
putting him in a costume, basically.
And letting the cast
"accidentally" see him.
- Just something totally nuts,
like we dress Matt as a chicken,
as an astronaut, and we
just send him out there.
- But I think that the
most logical thing would do
is to dress him as Ms. Terry.
- That's true.
- But it's like, if they
pull up to a thing
Matt's already there
in a dress, and he sees them,
and then panics, scurries off.
- BEN: Go away.
- The obvious conclusion
is it's a Ms. Terry thing.
- Yeah.
- BEN: But they don't know what.
- And they don't know why.
'Cause we've been planting
the seed of Ms. Terry.
I think we need to
keep pushing that.
- SAM: For sure, for sure, agreed.
- We're gonna drive them nuts.
(Adam giggles)
- That's the goal.
- Oh man.
- STEVEN: We made it to day
The second last day.
Day four?
We made it to day four.
- GEORGIA: (applauds)
Amazing, congratulations.
- PATCH: You should all be
proud of that by itself.
- It is kind of wild
that, you know, Patch
- And I'm still here.
- You're here.
(Georgia and Steven crack up)
We're all very disappointed.
- You can't get rid of me
that easy, okay?
- You're very hard to kill.
But I think you're
the underdog in this
right now, because
- Does that mean
you're rooting for me?
I'm going to take that as a yes.
(scattered laughter)
- I mean, I know
What is your strategy
going into this?
Because the only way that you—
- So we can thwart it.
- Yeah, and just, hypothetically
- Tell us all your strategy.
- Hypothetically tell us all your
- Because I mean,
you already got all the
votes headed your way.
And the only way that
you're going to stay here
is if you get safety.
- Is if I'm good at the game?
- I actually don't know—
- That seems
like a safe bet to me.
- To win, is your strategy to win?
- My— As it always has been
my strategy is to be
a good team player,
win the challenges for us.
That's all we gotta do, okay?
I think I will prove to you
that I am as loyal as can be.
(door rolls open)
(phone ringing)
- Damn, it's hot out here!
- MS. TERRY: Good morning,
and welcome to the site
of your fourth challenge:
the city of Moab.
Today, you will randomly
split into two teams
by drawing chips out of a bag.
You will then have
30 minutes and $100
to buy everything
on my shopping list.
For every dollar
you spend or lose,
$10 will move
into the Snitch Stash.
For every dollar you bring back,
$10 will be kept safe
in the Loyal Loot.
Any item you do not
acquire in 30 minutes
will count as 20 spent dollars.
And, to up the stakes,
the team that keeps the
most money in the Loyal Loot
will earn safety from
tonight's elimination
for both team members.
Good luck.
- Gosh, okay.
- Oh, wow.
- Oh my gosh,
two people get safety?
That's absolutely wild.
- Oh my god.
Okay, who wants to—
I'll hold the bag.
Who wants to choose?
Do you want to choose?
- PATCH: I'll go for it.
Okay.
(Foreign Man whistles)
- Oh my god.
- Okay.
- Yeah.
- Chip one.
Oh, I got two, okay.
I guess it's us, alright!
(laughs) Let's get it!
Okay.
- Alright. Let's do it.
- Alright.
- MS. TERRY:
Three, two, one
Go!
- Yeah, this way.
- STEVEN: Let's go, let's go!
- Alright!
(Georgia eeps)
- Go, go, go!
- Okay, let's take a look.
- What's it say?
- Okay.
- What do we got?
What do we got?
- We have something
that bears the name of a place
that is not/is not in Utah.
- Okay, perfect.
- Something with
one of your teammate's
first or last names on it.
- Something with a VW bus on it.
Something battery powered.
- A pen that writes in any colour
other than blue, red, or black.
- Okay.
- A rock the same color
as the pen.
- A food Dan has never eaten.
- Okay.
- A food Dan has never eaten?
- Dan?
- How the hell do
we know what Dan's diet is?
- Okay, we gotta go.
Electronics, electronics.
Battery powered is easy.
Can we jaywalk, are you ready?
- Yeah, I'm ready to jaywalk.
- After this RV.
D'aah!
- Oh, come on!
- Okay, what's the strategy?
- Okay, so one
of the things is that
I think that it's really amazing
that we are doing a challenge
that is really made
for Scottish people.
I've got this.
I really think I've got this.
- Well, let's walk and talk.
- Let's do it, okay.
- Let's go.
- Okay, what do we have here?
Easy to find names in here.
- [The] T-Shirt Shop?
- Easy, let's do names.
There's guaranteed
to find names here.
- Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
And there's also got
locations on this as well?
- PATCH: Yes, true, true, true.
- STEVEN:
I'm finding it very difficult
to figure out whether
or not going for safety
is optimal or not.
But in that moment
I'm too in my head about
getting the challenge done
and getting safety.
Even though getting safety
isn't my number one priority.
Jeep, wait, hold on.
Something that has
a VW bus on it.
- No names, no names.
Okay, we have names.
I don't know what
these cards are, even.
Giving it my all was the only
thing I could possibly do,
because suspicion is already
basically at its maximum for me,
and I needed to win that safety.
Patrick, okay, okay.
Steven!
- Yes?
- I have my name.
- You got your name?
- I have my first name.
- Great, awesome.
There might be something
with a VW bus here.
It's just hard to see,
but there's lots of options.
Okay, great.
Oh, we can't buy something else
from the same shop.
- We can't do it.
- Okay, so we can only get
one thing per store.
- Let us take a look.
Hi.
- Top of the morning.
- Could I ask you
a very strange question?
- Spelt the same way
as your name?
- Yep, Patrick.
Howdy, could I purchase this card?
How much for it?
Perfect!
(laughs) You keep this.
- Thank you.
- Thanks so much, okay.
Alright, one down.
Excellent.
- Okay, let's figure out
what— okay.
Should we just see
what the next shop is,
and then see if there's an option?
- Yeah, yeah.
We're by electronics.
That'll be a piece of cake.
- Do you have
any unusual foods here?
The stranger, the better.
- All-natural raspberry hard candies.
- Can we take one
all-natural raspberry candy?
Would that be possible?
Yes!
I tried as hard as I can to win
because there's a chance
that I could get voted out.
And then it doesn't matter
how much money I have,
because I'm no longer
here to claim it.
So I actually had to win.
- Can we purchase that
from you for—
- No, no, we're going to
get it for free.
She's giving it to us.
- You are the kindest.
I didn't have to try
that hard of a challenge
given that Georgia is honestly
the Swiss army knife
of being cheap.
Honestly, even if
I tried to sabotage it,
Georgia wouldn't let me.
It was just too obvious
if I tried to sabotage it.
- Thank you so very much.
- You're welcome, have fun.
- Okay, one, let's go.
- FOREIGN:
Alright, that's one down.
- Jewelry, let's do jewelry.
Jewelry has a lot
of ornamental stuff.
Let's check it out.
Might be expensive, though.
- Oh, it really could be.
- Okay, it'll be
something small like this.
VW bus, VW bus.
- GEORGIA: Oh, this is it.
Hi!
- Hi!
I was wondering—
- Sorry, we're doing
a little bit of a hunt.
So we may ask you
some questions.
- Do you have anything here
with a VW bus logo on it?
- SHOPKEEPER:
We've got the mugs.
- The mugs.
- Mugs?
- Oh, perfect.
- (gasps)
Yes, yes, yes, yes!
- Yeah! Nice, nice!
Let's get it, let's get it, okay.
- 30 bucks though.
- It's 30 bucks, though.
It'd be cheaper—
- We only have seven items.
- It'd be cheaper
just not get it, you know?
- Oh, because if we lose time,
we get fined $20.
- Not getting it is only $20.
- Very good catch.
- Okay.
- STEVEN: I didn't realise
it would be so difficult
in these challenges to sabotage.
When you learn
the rules of a challenge,
you're thrown into it,
and you have to strategise
whilst you're on a time pressure.
Not or is not Utah.
Do you have anything that
bears the name of a place
that is not or is not in Utah?
(shopkeeper and Patch laugh)
Yes?
- Okay, light bulb.
Turkey?
- Wait, that technically counts.
It bears the name.
That absolutely counts.
Let's just find something made
in China, and we're golden.
What about these hats?
I probably
shouldn't have suggested,
"What about the
made in wherever label?"
Which I think was
the first thought I had.
But it's a really weird thing.
You're sort of trying to do
two things at once,
which is like, play the game,
but then not play it quite well,
and then think about
how to not play the game
whilst looking like
you're playing the game
being a team player.
- It says California.
It says California on it.
- I'm down for this if you want,
but there'll be literally
a million things
that say "made in China".
You wanna do it and
just get it done?
- I think, yeah, I think
that's all we're getting here.
- No, no, no, that's fine.
- Okay.
- $14.14.
- Thanks a bunch,
really appreciate it.
- Okay.
(Steven grunts)
Right, we're good.
Okay, so
- Is there anything
that is free or almost free?
It's a money-based challenge.
- FOREIGN: Or that you
A free bin?
- Where's the free bin?
Where's the— Oh, I love you.
- FOREIGN: Thank you!
- Vermont, Vermont!
Vermont's not in Utah.
- Absolutely.
(Georgia laughs)
We did it. Thank you!
- I love you.
I love you!
- Alright, thank you.
- Right. Next.
Let's do this, come on.
- Hi.
- Sorry!
- Sorry, sorry!
- Excuse me!
- Okay.
- T-shirts.
- T-shirt.
- This is amazing.
- Hi.
- Hi, we're doing a
little bit of a treasure hunt.
- SHOPKEEPER: Okay.
- Moab Made.
This'll have trinkets.
We could look for a pen
or look for rocks.
What do you think?
- Yeah, well,
let's look for rocks first,
because finding a rock
might be hard.
- Well, I don't know.
If we find a rock,
we have to make sure
the pen matches the rock.
- That's what I mean, yeah.
But I mean, it might be
just hard to find a rock.
- But finding a pen
that doesn't have the color.
- Oh, here's some rocks.
These gotta be—
- But we need the pen first.
- Yes, I know, I know, but—
- Otherwise we spend the money.
- Yeah, I know.
- Bailey, Derek, Erica.
Oh, I'm doing this bad.
I'm sorry.
B, C
- Patrick.
- H, H.
So it's already—
- Patrick definitely—
- Goddess.
They didn't know my name
really is Goddess.
Did no one say?
My name really is
actually Goddess.
- Howdy, do you have anything
that bears the image
of the VW bus?
- Sticker?
- Anything?
Yeah, a sticker
would be perfect.
- Only vans.
Do you know anywhere else
that's within a very short walk
that might have something like this?
- You can check
our sister store, Arteesian,
- across the—
It's just in the corner here.
- Arteesian? Thank you
so much, appreciate it.
Have a nice day.
- I think we gotta just roll with it.
Oh man, we're probably
one-third through it already.
- It's okay, because we're
gonna get electronics nailed.
We can get a pen, no bother.
And any shop that sells
a bunch of sweets
What do you call it in America?
Candy.
- Yeah.
- We can find some obscure candy
Dan hasn't eaten, no bother.
- I don't see any Ps.
- Anything that
might have 'Peter' on it?
- SHOPKEEPER: We can check
back in the card book.
- A book?
One that says Peter?
- Peter. Is it very affordable?
Is it very expensive for these?
- Excellent.
- Love you.
- Thank you.
(Georgia cackles)
Okay.
- Let's do this!
Oh, this is so awesome.
- Here we come.
You are amazing.
- SHOPKEEPER:
It's gonna be one dollar.
- Thank you.
Okay, we have to go hurry up.
- Have a good one.
- The VW bus is tricky though.
It, maybe, you want
to deprioritise.
We need to, if we just go to—
If we go to any shop that sells—
What?
Did we take something?
Hey, how's it going?
(gasps) You're a genius.
- Oh, yes!
- Yes, please.
- Oh, god bless you.
(both chuckle exhaustedly)
- Van life.
It even says van life.
- It does, it does.
- That's VW, right?
- We're on it.
- $4.35.
- Oh, perfect, thank you.
- SHOPKEEPER: Here you go.
- Thank you so much!
- Oh, you're an absolute hero.
- Alright, alright,
keep it moving, keep it moving.
Okay, rocks will be common.
We need to find a pen that's
not blue, black, red, right?
- Hi.
- FOREIGN: Hi.
- Do you have anything
with a V8—
VW bus on it perhaps?
- Keychain?
- We have a mug?
Oh, that's perfect.
- Alright, how much are we talking?
- How much is it? 'Cause we're on a—
Is there any chance that
we could have a discount on it?
You don't do any discounts?
- Should we try Arteesian
and see if they have a pen?
- Yeah, good idea.
- It's probably
an expensive pen,
but they'll be cheap anyway.
- Okay, go ahead.
- Hello, do you have
any pens for sale?
Okay.
- Well, they do rocks here,
so we can find a pen.
- Okay, we'll come back.
We have to buy a pen first. (laughs)
Thank you!
- Love ya.
Oh books!
Books will have pens, right?
- Books will have pens.
- You write on paper.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Howdy, any chance that there
are pens for sale in here?
- Do you happen to sell pens
that has any color, like
an orange or a green pen?
- SHOPKEEPER:
We have black, that's it.
- Okay, thank you.
- FOREIGN:
So here we were, at this point,
I'm seeing that Georgia's
getting everything for free.
I was just like, damn.
As a Snitch, the scoreboard
is looking hideous for me.
I gotta find a way to go and
get a little bit of something.
You know what I'm saying?
- Okay, and this is good
for a bus place.
- Okay. Alright, so the bus—
- Or do you wanna just get it?
- Let's just get it.
- Okay, go get it, go get it.
'Cause I don't think
that we're gonna find
anything else for the bus.
- FOREIGN:
I was like, alright.
It seems like she's forgetting
that there's a $20 penalty
for anything that we don't do.
But, she actually got something
that cost more than the penalty.
Which was just my little bit
of way of getting back
some money
into the Snitch Stash.
$30.
- I know, it's so much, god.
This goes against my nature, but
(Foreign Man snickers)
I'm going to put
the change in here,
because it might be the—
It might be what saves us.
I don't think
that I paid attention enough
when the description
of what was happening
in the game
that it was $20.
So definitely that was
a huge error on my part
not to pay attention to
the rules of the game.
- Alright.
Thank you.
- Thank you so very much.
(whispering)
Okay, let's go, let's go.
What— We have the names.
We need to get something
that's battery powered.
- Oh, the pens in your pen jar,
are there any that
you're not attached to,
that you could part with
for like a dollar?
- Wait, this—
- STEVEN: We can have it?
Thank you so much.
We got a free pen.
- A free pen? What color is it?
- It's— Oh yeah, it has to—
Yeah, sorry.
I go into the shop,
and I see that there's pens,
and I'm trying to get
the pen that's just in the pot
that the storekeeper owns.
I'm there not even realising
that the pen colour
has to be different.
There's just a lot that
has to be factored in.
And unluckily,
Patch does realise
that I'm about to get a pen
that isn't helpful.
Oh gosh, I totally forgot
about the colour of the pen.
Good catch.
- You said $5.50?
- SHOPKEEPER: $5.82.
- Okay, there you go.
I think that's $6.
- Electronics store across the road.
- Oh, electronics store where?
- It's only right there.
- Okay, we have to do
a thing, come on!
- Yeah, we need
to get onto the crosswalk.
- I'm just gonna
ask here for a pen!
Okay, just in case,
because we're here.
Hi, do you work here?
- SHOPKEEPER: I do.
- Do you have
any colored pens?
Perhaps in a green
or an orange
or any color that's not
black, blue, or red?
I'm going into the store,
and when I open the door,
I'm hoping to find that
there's some sort of pen.
So I'm like, "Hey! Can I look
through the box of pens?
And can I take
the pen that's there?"
Because I'm sure I saw
a pen that's there.
And luckily, she called it a pen.
Oh, dry erase pen?
That's okay.
Dry erase pen will count.
- FOREIGN: Okay.
- I will bring it back, I promise.
Thank you!
- FOREIGN: Thank you so much.
- It means so much to us.
Come on, let's go!
- Thanks so much.
- Back to the rock place, right?
- Yeah.
- Thank you! Ooh, god.
- Okay, very nice.
- Hello, nice to see you again.
About those
green rocks you have
- Okay, my thoughts?
We get a rock,
we make it green.
- Good idea.
Right here.
Rocks.
- Okay, come here.
- Take the smallest rock.
- Come here,
take a tiny, tiny rock.
Find a tiny rock.
- Right here.
- GEORGIA:
Small? How small is it?
- It's really small.
- That's not gonna show green.
We need a white one.
- This is technically—
This is green.
- Yeah.
- This is, you call this
the colour green?
- SHOPKEEPER:
I think so.
- You think it's green?
- No, no, we need confidence.
(group laughs)
- It's the greenest one,
for sure.
- Yeah, it's like four bucks.
Five bucks? Four bucks?
Three bucks?
$4.34.
- That's right, colour that rock.
- Okay, okay.
Pen that writes in
any color, not in that.
Rock, the same color.
Battery powered!
Where's the electronics store?
- Across the road,
and all the way down there.
- Okay, so we have the pen,
we have the rock.
So all we need now is something
that's battery powered,
and a food that
Dan has never eaten.
- Okay, let's look for the food,
and then we can just
swing by the electronics.
- Thank you, have a nice day.
Thank you, appreciate it.
Okay.
Alright, so the next food place
that sells candy, I guess.
- Let's keep going.
- Maybe—
- Do you want to see if
there's anything in this one?
- Well, there's
electronics right here.
Arches Electronics.
Hi.
- GEORGIA: Hi.
- SHOPKEEPER: Hey.
- Do you have anything that's
the cheapest thing you have?
Or free?
- Or free?
Nothing's free?
- Not free?
- Anything free?
- How much?
- With a battery?
- Oh, that's a lot.
- What do you think?
What do you think?
- They might have
something, real fast.
Okay, they have gecko poop.
- Okay, there's no way
he's eaten
- But it's chocolate,
chocolate panned peanuts.
- PATCH:
He's probably had that.
I think the buttermints.
- Yeah?
- Those prickly pear—
Specifically prickly pear
flavored buttermints.
There ain't no way.
- What was that,
five bucks, six bucks?
- This was seven, yeah.
Plus tax, so it'll be—
- Should we leave it,
come back?
We still have loads of time.
- Let's see our time check.
Because that's the last
thing that we have.
- Ten minutes.
Why don't we go around here
- just to see if there's
anything cheaper?
And if there is, we get it.
If not, we come back here.
- Okay, alright.
- Sounds good.
- Thank you very much.
- Okay.
- Okay, let's do the
Did we do that store there?
- Where?
- "Gifts, toys"?
Toys. Lots of toys have
battery power.
The kids ones.
- That's right, that's right.
- Prickly pear buttermints.
Prickly pear is extremely uncommon.
- I know, I'm all about price.
I'm all about just
getting every dollar down.
- Okay, okay, okay.
That's, yeah.
I think any other ten,
we're pretty safe with it.
- We can always take it back.
Cookie Crunchers.
Dog treats he's never
eaten for $1.99.
(Patch laughs)
Hold on.
- I mean, he's probably
never eaten a shoe either.
- I need a ruling.
Amy, a dog treat is food?
- AMY: Dog food is food.
- Dog food is food?
(Patch wheezes)
- He might have—
He's a comedian though.
He might have eaten dog food.
- He's never had the
Cookie Cruncher dog treat,
cheddar and bacon flavour.
- Okay, I believe you,
I believe you.
- There's no shot.
- Okay, okay.
- Can I buy
a dog treat please?
- Oh, sorry. Ah.
- Sorry!
- Sorry.
- Do you have— Oh!
Look at this.
Volkswagen, $1.99.
- Can we return it?
I think we can return it.
- Do you have the receipt?
- We do. It's right in here.
- Okay, so why don't we see
if we can return it.
- Thanks a bunch. Gotta run.
- Thank you!
- Can I toss it in your bag?
- Yeah, sorry.
Did you hear that?
Dog food is food?
- Dog food is food.
- Okay, good.
I just don't want you
not believing me later.
Electronics!
- This might be a bait.
You want to ask? I'll look.
- Can I purchase this,
or do you give them away ever?
Yeah, ever.
I would be really happy,
and we're at a—
(Georgia squees)
- Okay. You're off the chain.
- I love you! Thank you!
- You have beautiful lashes.
You're amazing.
- Okay, let's return it.
- FOREIGN: I was like, damn!
This must be what it
feels like to be pretty.
Because she could just go
into anything, anywhere,
and just get anything free.
When I ask for things for free,
