Hunter Street (2017) s01e05 Episode Script
Rinus
Great, we're all here.
What's this all about? We're gonna look at everything we know about Erik and Kate's disappearance, and try to make sense of it all.
Sal helped me put this together.
Yay, Sal.
Why is it doing that? I found it on your phone, and I thought everyone should see it.
Boy's got moves! No! Just go! Come on, hey, make it stop, this is serious.
All right, Erik and Kate were last seen at the opera house.
We found a note there in Kate's handwriting that said one word "Saganash.
" A family that the Hunters did business with centuries ago.
Tess talked to an old guy named Rinus who used to work here.
But he kind of got mad at her before she could learn anything.
Wasn't my fault, and I did learn something.
The Saganash family is still around, and they're dangerous.
Rinus said we shouldn't get involved.
And then we got a message on the telegraph machine signed "E & K," said they needed help.
How does it all fit together? Well, it all has to be connected, but there are too many gaps to pull anything together.
I hate this! I don't wanna be talking about clues and connections.
I just want Erik and Kate back.
I miss them too, Nika.
We all miss them.
I miss doing experiments with Erik.
He's the best lab assistant I've ever had.
I miss how Kate would always have a fruit shake waiting for me after I'd go running.
Now, I never even run anymore.
I just to laundry and clean toilets.
Yeah, but hey, no one cleans toilets like you, Beef.
Sorry, dude.
We all appreciate how you've been taking care of everything, right, guys? Yeah.
Yeah, sure.
You know what I think? We're gonna keep looking for Erik and Kate, but we're also gonna do stuff that makes us happy.
What do you mean? I mean, like like your room.
Remember how you said you and Kate were gonna paint it purple? Luscious lavender! We already bought the paint.
It's so pretty.
It's not as fun as blowing stuff up with science! But it's something to do.
And you, you're gonna go for a nice long run this afternoon.
What are you saying? That Do I look out of shape? No! You gotta do something for you, man.
What are you gonna do for you, Max? Maybe work on my steps or something.
I know what you should do! Buy some new shoes! What's wrong with my shoes? They stink.
They're falling apart.
They have, like, no support.
You're lucky you haven't rolled your ankle.
What? Ankle support is, like, really important for an athlete.
Okay, okay.
Guess I'm getting new sneakers.
I'll take you shoe shopping.
"Hunters" on three, everybody.
All right.
One, two, three, Hunters! Hello? Oh, hey, Tim! We're all good.
How are you? Erik and Kate, um Hold on.
Erik? Kate? Erik! They just walked out the door.
Max? He's doing great! Kate just said she's so happy that he's here.
And what a worker, too.
He vacuumed the whole house.
And he did all his homework too.
And he cleaned all the toilets.
Yes, yeah, that Max.
I know, it is hard to believe.
Oh, no, no.
No need to come over.
Why make a special trip when everything's going so well? I gotta run.
Bye bye.
Whew.
Going running was a great idea.
I can't wait to hit the pavement.
Um new shorts? No, why? Oh, I I washed 'em with Anika's red jeans.
I guess I shouldn't have used hot water.
They're not so bad, right? I mean they're the only clean pair I've got.
No, they look good on you.
You've got great legs.
I do have nice legs.
Well later.
So, why can't a guy wear pink shoes? I don't know, I just don't think pink shoes on a guy is, like, the cutest thing ever.
But it's like the best color, it's so colorful.
What about, like what about, like, black ones or It's a happy color.
Pink is not a happy color.
It's a happy color.
Oh, the opera house? The last time I was here, I was almost arrested.
Is there really no shoe store closer to home? This is the best one.
Just chill, we're almost there.
I wonder what type of shoe I should get though? I mean, I wanna get high tops, but, I mean, what color? That's the question.
Pink is always really great Tess? Over here.
What are you doing? Rinus is over there.
What's he doing? I don't know.
Maybe it's a coincidence.
Maybe fish can climb trees.
I knew something was funny about him.
We have to find out what he knows.
Yeah.
What are you doing?! You said you wanted to find out what he knows.
If he didn't tell me anything, why would he tell you anything? Look, sometimes you gotta shake the jar before you spill the beans.
Uh, settle down, tough guy.
How 'bout we just follow him? Yeah, let's let's do that.
Hey, Si Have a great day.
You're welcome.
You too.
Hey! Daniel! Hi, Simone.
So, what are you up to? I I'm just out for a shorts run.
I mean, a short run.
Cool, well, don't let me hold you up.
Yeah.
See ya.
He's talking to that taxi driver over there.
Yeah, but is he really a taxi driver, or is that just his cover? Dude, you've been watching too many movies.
You'll see.
For Erik and Kate to disappear without a trace, there must be a lot of people involved.
I'm thinking a massive conspiracy going all the way to the top.
The top of what? What do you think? The government.
He's coming this way.
Quick, we gotta hide! Come on, come on, go, go, go! Come on, let's go.
We're never going to be able to reach the ceiling.
It's way too high.
Yes, we will.
I'll stand on your shoulders.
What? Are you crazy? We'll fall and break our necks.
Does this mean we can't paint my room? Not necessarily.
Do you want everything the same color? The ceiling too? Yeah.
Luscious lavender everything.
I know what to do.
Yay! What? You'll see.
Just put plastic over anything you don't want purple.
I'll be right back.
Okay.
What's in there? That place looks like it's abandoned.
Must be a secret hideout.
They always look like that on the outside, but on the inside, it's all super high tech.
That's how super villains keep a low profile.
Come on.
Come on, where? Where else? Inside.
I'm not going into a super villain's hideout without backup, okay? If we go in, we might never come out.
Max, Erik and Kate might be in there.
All right, you're right.
Let's do it.
This is so cool.
Do you really think it's gonna work? No reason it shouldn't.
But there's only one way to find out.
I guess it sorta works.
The concept works.
Now, it's just a matter of execution.
It's locked.
Are you sure you're not a detective? Looks pretty rickety.
We can probably just pull it open.
Come on, let's just leave.
Why? Every movie I've ever seen, something bad always pops up when you open a closed door.
In a movie? Yeah.
This is not a movie, this is real.
Erik and Kate are really missing, and I'm not leaving here until I know they're not being held here.
Tess? We'll do it together.
Rinus was wearing that.
What are you doing? Not taking any chances.
It could be booby-trapped.
This is Kate's necklace.
She was wearing it the day they went to the opera.
So, how many loops of the park are you doing? Five.
Just ten miles.
That's a light day, huh? I guess.
How 'bout you then? I do about 400 of these every day.
Every day.
Keep it up, man.
Yeah.
I don't like the look of this.
Somebody was tied up in here.
Two people.
Back up, old man! I know karate and jiu jitsu and a few other Japanese words.
You You're the Hunter girl.
That's right.
And you're Rinus.
What are you doing here? Where are Erik and Kate? You tell me.
What? You're not holding them prisoner? Why should I do something like that? Would you mind not shining that thing in my eyes? Well, how did you get this? You searched my coat? So, if you didn't take Erik and Kate, what are you doing here? The same as you.
I'm looking for them.
How do you even know they're missing? After your little visit, I tried to call Erik a bunch of times.
His phone was dead.
So, I watched the house, but I didn't see them there.

I practically raised him.
You know, Kate and Erik, they mean everything to me.
And you kids, you mean everything to them.
So, we're in this together.
So, let's help each other find them.
I believe him.
The note on the photo we found did say he was almost a Hunter.
Yeah, I guess I believe him too.
Max! Oh, sorry.
I've searched the place, but my eyes aren't what they used to be.
What's this? A notebook? It's blank.
This is interesting.
Hi again.
S-sorry.
Here you go.
Thanks, Simone.
It was either this or arrest you for indecent exposure.
Guess I'll be heading home.
I'll walk with you.
I'm gonna need my jacket back.
Right.
You actually look pretty good in a skirt.
I've been told I have really nice legs.
Come on.
We just needed more pressure! 12 bars ought to do it! Ma'am, I'm on my way, but I might be five minutes late.
Just have to make a quick stop to check on the kids.
Shouldn't it be doing something besides making noises? Pressure needs to build.
I guess I just like helping people.
That's not good.
Max? Max? Are you here? Here it comes.
Three two one Max? Is everything all right in here? Why is our front door open? Is is that Simone's bike? Well, it was nice knowing you.
What? Would someone please tell me where your parents are? I want some answers! Are they even here?! Daniel?! Well? Tim's a pretty sharp guy.
I'm sure by now, he's found out the truth about Erik and Kate.
I'm gonna go pack my bags.
Stop overreacting.
I'm not overreacting! I've been down this road before, okay? I'm history.
We all are.
They wouldn't just split you kids up like that, would they? Mister, these guys may act all nice and concerned, but at the end of the day, it's all about covering their backs.

Erik's older brother.
Much older, I'd say.
Yes, yes, yes, it's true I'm no spring chicken.

Well, I'm glad somebody is looking after them.
Yes, well, of course.
You don't think Kate and Erik would leave them all alone, do you? No, of course they wouldn't.
I don't know what I was thinking.
Yeah.
Thanks for letting me borrow these.
No worries.
Anything for the Timster.
Are you sure you don't want me to wash your clothes? Um I wouldn't.
Laundry isn't exactly Daniel's strong suit.
It's okay.
I should get moving.
I've got an appointment in 20 minutes, and have to bike all the way across town.
I'm gonna be seriously late.
Why don't you let me give you a ride? I can get a car from the station.
It's just around the corner.
I don't wanna put you out.
You're not.
I'm almost off duty anyway.
