Today I brought you to an area Near the lost canyon.
Your job is going to be to descend over 200 feet Into the depths of the canyon, Retrieve a wooden artifact, And make your way back to me at the finish line.
On my mark, you'll be taking off Down this track.
At the very end of it, You'll find a wooden box.
It has a combination lock on it.
Three digits.
I'm gonna give you the first one now.
It's 6.
The other two it's up to you to figure out.
Once you're inside the box, You'll find yourselves maps.
You're gonna follow the instructions on the map.
You'll make your way to the lost canyon, Where you'll retrieve the artifact And make your way back to the finish line to see me.
As always, the first-place couple Is going to have a night of indulgence and romance At the oasis, While the rest of you are back at the cabins.
Sound easy enough, guys? All: Yeah, yes.
- Yeah, I thought so, too.
So I've added in a couple of little extras To spice things up.
Number one, The first-place couple Will not get a guaranteed switch And can be eliminated with everyone else.
And a second thing is That it seems most of you have formed Some pretty strong connections.
Let's put that to the test And see if absence really does Make the heart grow fonder.

Every single person here will be doing this adventure With a different partner today.

So I'm gonna try to keep an open mind with ben.

- So we opened the boxes.
Inside was a helmet and a harness.
We had to go to our next stop and rappel.

I've never rappelled before in my life.
I was gut-wrenching scared.
- Holy - Coming up - I really wanted to be first So that I'd have that opportunity To get back with theresa.
- I had to pass skip in order for ben and I to do well.

I'm gonna beat skip! - Watch out, skip! - There was no shortage of blood, That's for sure.

So the chance of infection is quite high.
So unfortunately, derek will be eliminated Because he's no longer able to compete.

- This experience has been unlike anything I've ever been part of in my whole life.
And through all of that, Derek has been like that rock That I can always go back to, And I know I can count on him.
I'm so happy and grateful That I was able to come here And meet someone like derek.
He has helped push me to my full potential That I didn't even know I had in me.
It's nice that it's not the end for us.
There's that spark.
There's that little something That it's hard to put your finger on, But it's there.
It'll be cool to see where we take that.
