What does she mean to you?
She means what I let her mean.
She's an actress.
That's her job.
Why don't you want to tell me?
Okay.
I have a story for you.
This was 900 years ago or so.
Pretty far south.
In the rainforest. Your neck of the woods.
Back then, I was a man. You know, a man.
Let's call him James Dean,
because he was beautiful and strong and
hungry.
He's in the forest one day and encounters
this huge, stunning, white jaguar.
Like, the mother jaguar.
A spirit living in an animal body.
And he thinks she's gonna kill him.
Instead, she takes a liking to him.
So the white jaguar and James Dean fuck.
And instead of killing him, she leaves him
with a little bit of her power as a gift.
And he goes home.
And he becomes this great leader.
He becomes a king.
And he marries this princess
and she's exquisite.
He has everything.
However, the mother jaguar
still expects something in return:
an offering every now and then.
Like a sacrifice?
Yes.
Like a sacrifice.
Then one day, he hears that an army
is headed toward his city,
and they're killing and enslaving
everyone in their path.
But he doesn't know where they are
or how far away they are.
So the white jaguar teaches him
about this ritual
that will show him where his enemies are.
He would need to find and capture
a specific toad.
That toad, actually.
The he would lick the sweat
off of its back.
And when this is done,
he can sense
exactly where his enemies are.
So he sets a trap.
He waits for them and slaughters them all.
But for the toad ritual,
the mother jaguar wants a big offering.
She tells him to bring her his wife.
[Mary clears throat]
Second time I've been here today.
Hello.
Can I help you?
Oh. It's you again.
Hi.
Hi. Sorry.
This is your place?
Are you looking for Lisa?
She in there?
Yes.
Well, I'm going in to see her.
Why don't you come along
and show us exactly where she's at?
[dramatic music playing]
Is there a machete in your bag?
Huh?
You can't have her just yet.
I'm in the middle of a story.
What?
She's not ready
for you to break her again.
Why don't you go back to her apartment
and wait there,
and I'll send her to you when I'm done.
Huh? And don't use a machete.
What, are you gonna put on
a hockey mask too?
Okay, go. Go.
See you around.
[croaking]
[Lisa sighs]
Did he feed his wife to the jaguar?
No.
I tried to trick the jaguar
by offering up a different woman.
But she came in the night and
she ate his wife anyway.
Fuck.
Then she bit off his balls
and bit off his hands. [chuckles]
And she dragged him around
and played with him.
She was really pissed.
Then she just left him there.
For dead.
He lied there in the forest dying,
until a young girl happened upon him.
Without knowing how
or even if he could, he
with his last bit of strength,
he jumped into her body.
I've been jumping ever since.
What happens to the people?
After their bodies get taken?
They all away.
Until you can almost
not hear them anymore.
And the jaguar?
What happened to the jaguar?
I think she was killed by the Spanish.
Eventually made into a couch.
She's still alive.
She's just on the other side.
So she's still after you, huh?
Sit up.
You're healed.
And stronger than before.
My gift to you.
[Lisa] Thanks.
My friends should be here soon
to pick me up.

I just have to keep them supplied
with a certain substance,
or else they'll slide apart.

Can they talk?
Do they have wants?
Or are they just slaves?
They can talk, follow instructions,
sometimes at first
though, they'll try to wander home
or call their loved ones.

what happened in the woods.

What does she mean to you?
She means what I let her mean.
She's an actress.
That's her job.
Why don't you want to tell me?
Okay.
I have a story for you.
This was 900 years ago or so.
Pretty far south.
In the rainforest. Your neck of the woods.
Back then, I was a man. You know, a man.
Let's call him James Dean,
because he was beautiful and strong and
hungry.
He's in the forest one day and encounters
this huge, stunning, white jaguar.
Like, the mother jaguar.
A spirit living in an animal body.
And he thinks she's gonna kill him.
Instead, she takes a liking to him.
So the white jaguar and James Dean fuck.
And instead of killing him, she leaves him
with a little bit of her power as a gift.
And he goes home.
And he becomes this great leader.
He becomes a king.
And he marries this princess
and she's exquisite.
He has everything.
However, the mother jaguar
still expects something in return:
an offering every now and then.
Like a sacrifice?
Yes.
Like a sacrifice.
Then one day, he hears that an army
is headed toward his city,
and they're killing and enslaving
everyone in their path.
But he doesn't know where they are
or how far away they are.
So the white jaguar teaches him
about this ritual
that will show him where his enemies are.
He would need to find and capture
a specific toad.
That toad, actually.
The he would lick the sweat
off of its back.
And when this is done,
he can sense
exactly where his enemies are.
So he sets a trap.
He waits for them and slaughters them all.
But for the toad ritual,
the mother jaguar wants a big offering.
She tells him to bring her his wife.
[Mary clears throat]
Second time I've been here today.
Hello.
Can I help you?
Oh. It's you again.
Hi.
Hi. Sorry.

Huh?
You can't have her just yet.
I'm in the middle of a story.
What?
She's not ready
for you to break her again.
Why don't you go back to her apartment
and wait there,
and I'll send her to you when I'm done.
Huh? And don't use a machete.
What, are you gonna put on
a hockey mask too?
Okay, go. Go.
See you around.
[croaking]
[Lisa sighs]
Did he feed his wife to the jaguar?
No.
I tried to trick the jaguar
by offering up a different woman.
But she came in the night and
she ate his wife anyway.
Fuck.
Then she bit off his balls
and bit off his hands. [chuckles]
And she dragged him around
and played with him.
She was really pissed.
Then she just left him there.
For dead.
He lied there in the forest dying,
until a young girl happened upon him.
Without knowing how
or even if he could, he
with his last bit of strength,
he jumped into her body.
I've been jumping ever since.
What happens to the people?
After their bodies get taken?
They all away.
Until you can almost
not hear them anymore.
And the jaguar?
What happened to the jaguar?
I think she was killed by the Spanish.
Eventually made into a couch.
She's still alive.
She's just on the other side.
So she's still after you, huh?
Sit up.
You're healed.
And stronger than before.
