Heavy (2011) s01e06 Episode Script
Ronnie
I feel like I'm gonna die.
[Panting.]
Frozen pizzas are snacks.
That's about a day's worth of food right here.
Feel like my life has ended.
I go to bed at night, I'm like, "I wonder if I'm gonna wake up tomorrow.
" I just feel like my body's just disgusting.
This is how I normally put on my socks.
I played football my whole life.
I'm supposed to be everybody's hero around here, but I feel like nothing but a loser.
Here I am at 44.
I never had sex, I'm still a virgin.
My fear is that Ronnie's gonna die.
Yeah, I want two number ones.
Mm-mmm! De-licious! When you're sitting there crying 'cause you can't stop eating, it's like rock bottom.
I just eat till I'll throw up.
Several time's Kara's had to call 911 'cause I couldn't breathe.
If I don't get my weight under control, I mean, my life span will be shortened.
I feel like my life's over.
I'm tired of living like this.
I ache.
I hurt.
This is no vacation.
You're here to push yourself.
Come on, don't quit! Don't quit! You know how to lose weight, but you don't know [Bleep.]
About keeping it off.
It's easy for people to give up and say, "that's the way I am.
" I can't, not yet.
I'm not ready yet.
There's no "not yet.
" It's now.
Come on.
I know there's something wrong.
There's something broke in me that needs fixed.
I don't know how to fix it.
I'll make my family proud of me.
I'll be the hero that all my friends have always thought I was.
Cheeseburgers are my weakness.
My name is Ronnie, and I'm 44 years old.
Okay, so now a plate and cheese.
Ronnie and I have been together for three years now.
We've got a beautiful home, beautiful family.
Hey, will you get your dad a plate, hunter? Ronnie and I together have six kids total.
He has three, I have three.
It's the most rewarding relationship I've ever been in, and I'm just I'm very lucky.
And I absolutely adore him.
I look at him, and I could just cry I love him so much.
He's really just the strongest person I know.
Let's go for it again.
At this weight, I just I can't do nothin'.
In High School, I was always the popular, always went out with the you know, the cheerleaders, you know, and I played football my whole life.
I was all-American in college and everything, and I won many championships, many state championships, and just three years ago, I was voted north Georgia youth football coach of the year, and I can't do it anymore.
And everybody around here knows me as coach Ronnie.
[Panting.]
I'm supposed to be everybody's hero around here.
And I feel like nothing but a loser.
I'm not even a hero to my kids anymore.
He has got to find out why he got fat and fix it.
My fiancee, Kara, is a She's a group fitness manager at the gym that I work out at.
I can't get him to go to the gym anymore.
I mean, he'll literally say, "when I lose weight, I'll go to the gym.
" And I'm like, "you need to go to the gym to lose the weight.
" Her dream has always been a beach wedding.
I can't marry her like this.
I get angry.
The kids and I are We're tied to what he can't do versus what all of us can do.
Oh! Wait, all right! Every [kids laughing.]
Oh, let me finish this off! He's my best friend, my soul mate, my everything, but I don't want to be stuck in the house taking care of a fat man.
This is it.
If this doesn't work, then it will probably be over.
My name's Debbie.
I'm 44 years old, and I live in Wilmington, north Carolina.
I'm killing myself slowly.
Sometimes when I go to bed at night, I'm like, "I wonder if I'm gonna wake up tomorrow.
" Fourth grade, I think that's when I started packing on the pounds.
When High School came, I took gym class in the summertime instead of in school 'cause I was just so embarrassed.
These are really good.
With relationships, you know, I shy away of any possibility.
I've never had sex.
I'm still a virgin.
I just feel like my body's just disgusting.
This is the weight I need to say good-bye to.
Deb, I mean, I can't wait till we can actually do all the stuff I know.
Go skiing, go waterskiing, doing biking, all that stuff.
I know.
I'm tired of it being involved around food.
She's at the bottom.
She has nowhere else to go, and she knows it.
Oh! Who's got it? You know, it's a thin world out there.
Thin girl's world, and I'm sitting on the sidelines, and I'm just trying to be a part of everything.
Come on, Debbie! One of the things that keeps us bonded was golf.
And Debbie had to stop playing golf three or four years ago because of her weight.
She just simply couldn't walk, and she couldn't swing a golf club.
Anybody want to try the shrimp? Why do I let little, stupid things emotionally affect me that I have to run to food to eat? Why can't I control it somehow? She has to finally decide that she wants to change her lifestyle.
It's now or never.
If I don't get my weight under control, I mean, my life span will be shortened.
I need to get the weight off, stand on my own two feet, feel worthy enough to have somebody love me.
I mean, just control my life again.
Welcome.
Thanks.
I'm here to check in.
Hi, I'm Beverly.
Nice to meet you, Beverly.
I'm Debbie.
Nice to meet you.
Welcome.
- Hi.
- Hello.
This is your bag.
Inside, you'll find a binder with the schedule.
And then right now, Kim's gonna take you to your villa.
Ready? By coming here to Hilton head health, Ronnie and Debbie are making the first ste in really transforming their lives.
I'm so happy you're here.
I know, I'm so excited.
I can't wait.
How was your flight? Somewhere along the line, they've gotten lost.
Here at Hilton head health, it's our job to stop the downward spiral and get them headed in the right direction.
So I'm taking you to your villa.
Okay.
We've paired Ronnie and Debbie together as a team.
They've agreed to leave the distractions of home behind and spend the next six months focusing solely on themselves.
- Hi.
- Hi, Debbie.
I'm gonna take your weight today.
Okay.
My first weigh-in.
It's a little nerve-racking, because I can't remember the last time I weighed myself, so I have no clue what I'm going into.
Go ahead and step on the scale.
401.
4.
I was like, "ooh.
" It's just too big of a number to even comprehend that I let myself get to be that weight.
Okay, you ready? Do you have a number in your mind? I mean I want to push myself as much as I can.
- All right.
- I see what's gonna happen to me if I don't get this weight off.
And I always wondered what it would take.
Was it gonna be getting a disease you know, diabetic? If something happens and you go in the hospital, and they're not equipped for somebody as big as me, and you get an infection or something Scary.
Hi, Ronnie.
Last time I weighed, I was probably 320 or something like that, so I'm really nervous to see what the scale says.
Take a step up.
437.
6.
Oh.
What do you think? It was really embarrassing to me.
That's the most I've ever weighed in my life.
Let's turn your palm open.
Deep breath.
Have you thought a little bit about your goals for this next six months? My goal is 200.
What if I say to you there's no way you're gonna lose 200 pounds the next six months? - I'll just show you.
- Does that piss you off? I'm real competitive.
I want to lose as much as I can.
I'm on a mission.
I want to be healthy.
I want to live a healthy life.
Stepping with your heel.
Today, I'm training Ronnie and Debbie for the first time.
I need to be sure tha@ I'm pushing them more than what they can push themselves.
Get that butt under on the squat.
Down.
Exercise? It's new.
I hate pushing myself too hard.
Six.
Get those elbows in.
Seven.
Failure is not an option for me here.
There's a whole lot of people, including myself, that are counting on me for this.
I'm not here just playing around.
I'm on a mission.
These are plank climbers here.
Okay, you're here, pressing up to high plank, back down to low.
One.
Two.
I'm thinking, how am I gonna do that? [Ronnie grunting.]
Yes.
Two.
Forced height.
Three.
Just five, just five.
Four.
Come on.
Five.
Good.
Oh ho ho! I'm very impressed with the way that Ronnie is pushing himself, but he is a lot heavier than what he used to be when he played football, and I want him to kind of view that weight as a limitation.
That way, he does not injure himself.
On your elbows.
On your elbows.
Okay.
And come back up.
One.
- All right, I can't.
Not yet.
- You did it! No, I'm not ready yet.
My first impression of Debbie is that she's scared of failure.
She's not willing to push herself, because she thinks if she pushes herself, she's gonna fail.
Come on, you can do this.
Not yet.
I'm gonna get hurt.
I don't want to get down on my knees, because it's hard to get back up.
I just can't support myself to get up.
Deb, I would not put you in any situation where you're gonna hurt yourself.
I can't.
No, not yet.
No "not yet.
" It's now, come on.
Now.
Coming up on heavy I'm looking at the people sitting on their couches, and it pisses me off.
I'm doing what I can do.
- You ready for your weigh-in today? - Weigh-in days can be nerve-racking.
I was shocked when I saw that number on there.
Okay, let's bump it up to 2.
4.
Go, go, go, go.
I know it's their first week here, but I think this is really gonna put their abilities to the test.
I will lose the weight, but I want to take my time, and I want to be comfortable.
We're pushing it, come on.
Let's go.
What do you think you're here for? Huh? You think you're on vacation? This is no vacation.
You're here to push yourself.
Debbie does need to push it.
She doesn't get too engaged inln really intensive exercise.
So how long you staying on this thing? - I'm getting off.
- When? When you leave.
I don't know if she thinks that she can't do it, but she's got to try.
This is her one place where she can come and try and see how far she can push herself.
One of the things we teach is after every bite just go ahead and set it down.
Yeah.
Can I have some more water, please? - Mm-hmm.
- Thank you.
So is it just water, or what else do you have to drink? Hello.
Look at this.
The first meal gets down there, and I'm looking at it wait a minute.
This can't be it.
How in the world am I surviving on that? I ordered the cheeseburger.
I want I'll make me a fajita.
[Laughs.]
One tortilla.
I've never eaten one tortilla in my life.
Are you kidding me? Go, Ronnie! I love beach boot camp.
This is more like a football practice.
- Listen, guys, we're gonna do some dynamic warm-up.
That's what I'm used to, just challenging.
Two, three.
Ride those knees up.
10, 11.
20, 21, 22.
Come on! Good job.
My knee is My knee's jacked up.
Don't hurt your back.
Squat.
I just gotta keep pushing, though.
I can't stop.
[Panting.]
I can't bend my knee like that.
That's what I was trying to tell you.
I couldn't squat down like that.
He has his football mentality of no pain, no gain, when in reality, there really is no gain, because it's gonna create long-term, you know, problems with his body.
Put it on there.
I've always pushed through injuries, and it's just something I've got to do.
He's continuing to try to be the hero that he is in his hometown.
You all right? Yeah, I'm all right.
And he needs to stop or he's gonna hurt himself seriously.
The pain is just Just about unbearable.
But I can't quit.
Failure is not a option.
My goal is to lose 200 pounds, and I'm gonna do it if it kills me.
Come on, let's go! Come on! Ronnie and Debbie have survived the first week, and now it's time to see what the scale says.
- Hi, Debbie.
- Hi, Jessica.
Good to see you again.
You ready for your weigh-in today? - Absolutely.
- Okay, good.
388.
2.
So let's figure for your first week, that's 13.
2.
Okay, that seems unreal.
- It seems unreal? Okay.
- Yeah.
Well, it might start to get a little harder, but we're gonna enjoy this first week and the success that you've had.
- Hi.
- Hey, Ronnie.
Good to see you.
Great to see you.
- You ready for your weigh-in today? Yeah, I guess.
Wow.
Let's just do the math real quick.
23.
6.
- Nice.
- That's awesome.
Great job.
How do you feel about that? That's good.
At first, I was kind of, like, shocked when I saw that number on there.
- Feel stronger? - Oh, gosh, yeah.
I'm ready to go.
All right.
We'll see you out there.
I didn't think I could lose that much weight right off the bat.
I've worked as hard as I could, and, um And it And when you see that number, it was like, you know what, I feel like I'm gonna live.
I didn't feel that way before.
I didn't want to live like that anymore.
- Hey, Debbie.
How are you? - Hey.
Good.
Even though Debbie had really good weight loss this first week, she doesn't seem to be pushing herself as hard as she could be, so we really need to talk about what's holding her back.
Tell me a little bit about what it was like for you growing up.
Um, I think it was, like, junior high that I started packing on the pounds.
Eating a lot of bad choices as far as food and stuff.
I wasn't thinking about my health.
Then when we got to, like, High School, the boys thing started coming into play, you know.
- Okay.
- And I felt like, you know, I don't look like my friends.
Were your friends dating in High School? - Yeah.
- Yeah? - Yeah.
- Okay.
Were you at all? Um, no, because of my body image.
Was there a boy who rejected you? Um, I didn't want to open any doors to allow that to happen.
Instead of wanting a boyfriend or this or that, there's no rejection in the food.
When friends would go home with their boyfriend after the bars and stuff, you know, my boyfriend was like Ronald McDonald or burger king, you know what I mean.
That was just the ha that's the cycle.
So today we're gonna work on the ellipticals.
Debbie's kind of used to doing her own thing, and she's got that in her mind that that works.
She's never been athletic, never been a tea kind of player, and the way I do it is the way the coaches put it into me.
Let's go.
You can do it.
There you go.
Come on.
And he's working with a bad knee.
My knee hurts so bad, you know, I can hardly sleep, but I've always pushed through injuries, and it's just something I've got to do.
Ok, 100 strides a minute.
Let's go, let's go.
- It's all good.
- 70.
Okay, start smoothing it out.
He wants to go faster.
I'm warming up.
Excuses.
That's how we got that way.
Let's go.
Right now, we need to go.
I'm giving you what I can give you.
- So is that your motto? - It is now.
- Yeah? - I'm doing.
Coming up on heavy What about relationships when you get back home? I haven't met the right guy yet.
You know how to lose weight, but you don't know [Bleep.]
About keeping it off.
I don't have an issue.
- And later - I'm ready to get home and be a dad and a husband.
[Screams.]
- He wants to go faster.
- I'm warming up.
Debbie could do a lot better.
I don't think she's putting forth 110% effort like she could.
Excuses.
That's how we got that way.
I'm giving you what I can give you.
So is that your motto? - It is now.
- Yeah? I can do what I can do.
I think we have different goals on how we want to lose it and what we want out of the experience.
I don't want to hold him back, and at the same time, I don't want to feel like he has to push me to his level.
The way you work out may not be the way I work out, Ronnie.
I like going to Beth's and sitting down and talking.
You don't like doing that part, but I don't rag you on that.
I'm not ragging you.
I'm looking at the people out there who are sitting there on their couches about to die, their family's sitting there watching them die, and it pisses me off.
Work it out.
Do what you need to do to get that out of your head.
I'm trying to get you with that mentality.
I'm doing what I can do.
Do you feel like you're giving it 100%? Yes, I feel yes.
Debbie and Ronnie are two opposite people.
Okay, let's take it up to 110.
110 strides a minute.
Ronnie needs to concentrate on himself, instead of worrying about Debbie.
Come on, come on.
And Debbie has a lot more lax attitude, but I think she's getting motivated.
Debbie, excellent, excellent.
You are going faster than I've ever seen you go.
I'm proud of you.
I'll get there.
I'll get there.
One.
Two.
[Panting.]
Ronnie and Debbie are halfway through their six-month weight loss journey.
While Ronnie's knee is getting better, the stress of being away from his home is getting to him.
Really starting to feel the pressure of being here, of being away from my family.
I'm missing all my kids and Kara.
Unlike Debbie, Ronnie's not attending the therapy sessions to address his emotional issues.
- Hello.
- Ronnie.
Good to see you this morning.
Today, 340.
4.
97.
2.
Dang.
Almost topped the 100-pound mark.
I'm right there at it, and it feels so good.
My goal is 100 pounds by the time Kara gets here Monday.
I'm really homesick.
I've been waiting three months.
She's finally gonna be here, and I'm so excited.
What's happening? I'm nervous.
Weigh-in days can be a little nerve-racking.
See where we are today.
345.
4.
Okay.
I'm only down a couple of ounces.
I'm a little disappointed, but for what I'm eating and the exercises I'm doing, I know I'm building muscle.
I can feel I'm getting stronger.
I'm extremely excited to see Ronnie.
I can barely breathe, I can't eat, I haven't slept.
Seeing him, this is the minute I've been waiting for.
Hey, honey.
You look so good.
[Crying.]
I was so overwhelmed in that moment.
Look at you.
You don't look like the same person.
He just looks so much better than I even expected.
I was absolutely shocked.
You look beautiful.
How much have you lost? - 100 pounds.
- Really? It looks like more than that.
When I saw her face and the way she squeezed me, I knew it validated everything that I've done so far.
Okay, it's time to come home now.
You're skinny.
[Laughing.]
We're gonna talk about an environment that may have been uncomfortable when you were back at home, and that is meeting new people and striking up a conversation.
Debbie's 44 years old, and she's never had a romantic relationship with a man.
One of the reasons Debbie wants to lose weight is so that she can have a relationship with someone in the future.
So I'm gonna take her to the golf course so that we can work on our social skills.
Maybe the best way that we could do this is I'll just be hitting some golf balls, and you're gonna come up and introduce yourself and do whatever you would plan on doing.
- Okay, absolutely.
- That sound good? - Yep.
- All right, great.
- Hey, Adam.
- Um I'm noticing your, um Let's back up a second.
Um, let's imagine that you don't know my name, okay? - Okay.
- You don't know I'm Adam.
How would you first approach me? Do you know what I mean? What would you say? Would you say That was a good swing.
Okay, okay, that's cool.
Try it again.
- Okay.
- [Laughs.]
Excuse me.
That was a good swing.
[Laughs.]
Thanks.
I'm having a little trouble here.
You think you might be able to give me some pointers? Yeah, no problem I'm Adam.
Hi, I'm Debbie.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, too.
So, um, you said you haven't been playing very long? - No.
- Okay.
Um So, all right, you just met me, right? - Yes.
- Okay.
Now, how do you take it from there, right? I'm trying to give you pointers, but how do we develop more of a friendship? What do you think? Well, I mean, when you're golfing, you concentrate on golfing.
You don't want to talk a lot, so Yeah.
Some guy's gonna be like, "leave me alone.
" Okay, that's possible.
Debbie's really trying to make things work, but she just could not figure out what to say.
Well, what about relationships when you get back home? I mean, is that gonna be a priority? Is that something you're thinking about when you get back? I'm open to it, yeah, because I haven't met the right guy yet.
You know, if I had at my weight, then I'd be with him now.
Well, how can we find that person? 'Cause that's gonna be important, don't you think? Oh, yeah.
Oh.
I'm hoping he'll find me.
Yeah.
Well, just like you've practiced your physical exercise and eating habits and that kind of stuff while you're here, you've also got to practice your social habits.
Clearly, Debbie, she's got a long way to go, but she's gaining confidence that's gonna help her get there.
Being more secure with my body and more comfortable with my body just in my own skin, anything's possible.
One, get your heels on.
Step down or jump down? Three.
Jump down.
I took Kara to the gym, because I wanted to show her, you know, "hey, look, my man's getting strong.
" Squat.
Seven.
Stick that butt out, butt out.
Ronnie's progress he's made here is just huge.
Before I got here, I worked out with Kara, and I felt like I was gonna die.
I couldn't do anything.
- Go, Ronnie! - Nine! Today, he was so strong and really pushed himself, like, beyond where I thought he could go.
You're so strong.
When Ronnie finally saw Kara's reaction to him, she sees the changes.
People around me see the changes.
It's hard when you're in it every day.
Good work, guys.
It really sparked that motivation for him.
Kara, my name's Beverly, and I've been Ronnie's life coach while he's been here, and so my job is to try and find out why he's put on this much weight.
Ronnie, you're very headstrong.
Oh, yeah - and being an ex-athlete, you've learned how to drop weight really quickly, but you've never dealt with any of the emotional and mental issues behind it.
I don't think I have an issue.
I'm here to lose weight, and that's what I'm doing.
You're in complete denial.
I'm hoping Kara will have more influence on Ronnie in getting him to attend some of the therapy sessions he's been resistant to take.
The angle his mind's going at is the same angle he went at it before.
My focus is the eating and the working out, that's it.
Well, obviously, that don't work 'cause you've done it that way.
You know how to lose weight, but you don't know [Bleep.]
About keeping it off.
And that's what these sessions with me or Beth every week is gonna help you with.
I really don't think I'm an emotional eater.
They can help you figure it out.
That's as big a part of losing the weight as it is what you're eating.
I mean, it is bigger probably.
It is bigger.
I've always been the big, tough, strong person, and it just makes me feel like I'm weak if I have to go to somebody else and tell them my issues.
I don't want to be the person trying to get in your head and trying to figure out what triggers things.
I mean, you're here.
Talk to somebody.
He feels he doesn't need them.
- I don't.
- Well, you go or she's gonna call me.
[Laughs.]
I feel like that's a slap in my face.
Coming up on heavy It seemed like they ambushed me.
Don't stop.
She's had this spiritual awakening.
I'm gonna run for every pound that I've lost.
100 pounds down.
If he's able to complete it, it will be astounding.
The meeting with Beverly yesterday, it seemed like they ambushed me, but they're right.
I mean, I should be going, talking with people and trying to get in depth, 'cause it's gonna be hard to keep the weight off.
Couple of months isn't that long - For you maybe.
- For a lifetime.
Yeah.
- Love you.
- Love you too.
Well, tell me a little bit about what it was like having Kara here for a couple days.
Having her here just reassured our commitment for each other, andAnd, uh And motivated me more.
You said in the past you take care of your family.
What were the things that you were doing to take care of everybody? My mom had cancer for ten years, and, um, I mean, this lady wasSorry.
She was, uh She was our everything.
My mom was one of these caring people, the caretaking kind of people, and then when she got sick, I did that for her.
I sold everything house, everything, and moved in with her.
I did all the cooking, and I just kept on putting the weight on.
And then they gave her, like, three months to live, and she, um She just fought it.
And, uh, she finally passed away, and Kara, her mom had cancer, too.
And I ended up taking care of the kids while she was taking care of her mom.
Wow, so you've done a lot of caregiving in the past.
It changed my life.
It turned me into a450 pounds.
Sometimes people are using the food to cope with what's going on in their life, right? Yeah.
Sounds like you haven't had a lot of time to take care of Ronnie in the midst of all this.
- No.
- Right? Yeah.
And what I'm hearing is that that's what Kara wants for you now.
- That's exactly what she wants.
- Right? Yeah.
She wants you to take care of you.
Ronnie surprised me.
He was open.
He was willing to talk a little bit about some painful experiences in his life.
He was able to get in touch with his feelings, and, to me, that was a big step for him.
Beverly and Kara said I would get something out of that, and they were right.
Learning how to let my guard down is just as important as losing this weight.
When you're losing weight, you get a bigger return by cutting back on calories.
It's actually easier to cut back 500 calories than it is to exercise those 500 calories off.
Good! Come on! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Harder! Take the wall down! Come on! Debbie has changed.
There's been a definite change in her.
Don't stop.
We got ten seconds.
Come on.
- Okay.
- Go.
When she arrived here, Debbie's attitude was so bad.
She didn't like anything about anyone, including herself.
Come on, don't quit.
But now, she's had thus spiritual awakening.
She's so much more positive, and that is what's gonna change her in the long run.
Three, two, one.
Excellent! Yeah? - Oh, I'll yeah.
- Okay.
Six months is a long time half a year and I'm going to my final weigh-in, and I feel excited.
- Hey, Debbie.
- Hi.
- You ready for this? - Yes, I am.
- Last weigh-in.
- I know.
It's bittersweet.
Your starting weight is 401.
4.
269.
8.
That puts you at 130.
6, and that's over 30% of your total body weight.
That's great.
I know.
I'm excited.
If somebody told me six months ago I would be losing 130.
6 pounds, I would have been like, "no, you're crazy.
No way.
There's no way I can do that.
" I am so happy with my results.
I've left 131 pounds of baggage here, and that's a lot of baggage to leave, and it feels really good.
I'm going to my final weigh-in, and I feel it's been a real learning experience for me, and I feel great.
Hey.
Hey, hey.
- Last one.
- Yep.
Let's do it.
Your starting weight is 437.
6.
264.
8.
Let's see your total.
172.
8.
You know, that's about 40% of your body weight? - That's great.
- That's amazing.
I'm walking out of here almost 180 pounds down, and I feel like a champ.
I feel like I'm ready to take on the world.
180 pounds.
My 16-year-old son weighs 135 pounds, so I've lost more than that.
My confidence level is so high, and I'm ready to get home and be a dad and a husband to Kara and take care of my family the way I should.
I'm gonna run a minute for every pound that I've lost.
Thing I wanted to do at the end is I wanted to run a minute for every pound I lost, so 180 pounds is three hours.
Ronnie's telling me that he's planning to do this 180-minute run, and I'm thinking, he's gotta be out of his mind.
Ronnie, where you at now? 2 1/2 Miles.
31 minutes.
31 pounds, huh? - First week.
- One week down.
How crazy is that? When Ronnie first got here, he could barely move.
And now he's planning to run for 180 minutes.
If he's able to complete it, it will be simply astounding.
We are an hour into this, and I feel great.
Good.
You're the man.
I'm there to support him 100% on this.
Just to cheer him on, and I'm gonna see him through it to the end.
100 pounds down right there.
I didn't celebrate the first time I hit the 100 pounds.
This time I did.
100 pounds down.
80 more to go, and it's worth it.
Ronnie inspired me so much that it made me want to jump on the treadmill and run next to him for the last bit.
Awesome! There you go.
Go strong now.
Last minute! Come on, Ronnie! Push, buddy.
Three, two, one.
Damn.
Easy, easy, easy, easy, easy.
- [Groans.]
- Easy.
- Hot damn, Ronnie.
- Good job.
Here, walk around a little bit if you can.
I ran just over 15 Miles.
When I finished the 180 minutes, three hours, my body felt strong, and I feel a sense of pride to know that, uh That I can do that now just after this short time.
- Ready for a marathon now.
- Yeah, I'm ready.
What kept you going? I had to.
I I promised when I came down here that I was gonna do everything I could to do it.
And if it wasn't for a lot of support from y'all and my family back home, I couldn't have made it.
I couldn't have done this.
I wouldn't have done this myself.
Really impressive.
Great job.
Ronnie and Debbie are leaving today.
If they can do this much in six months, it will be amazing to see what those two will be able to have done in a year.
I know it.
A lot of sweats.
Even the three of us side by side six months ag this was one of us.
That's what I'm saying, look at that.
You know you can call me any time you need me.
- I will, Ronnie.
- Love you, I'm proud of you.
I'm proud of you, too.
I'm going home.
I just can't wait to see everybody.
Just, oh It's gonna be great.
Thank you so much.
Aw, love you, all right? Keep it up.
Keep everything going.
I'll be able to play with my nephews now, you know, golf with dad, you know.
Go kayaking with friends.
You know, I've got my life back now, and now I can share it with them.
- Man, it's tough to say good-bye.
It is.
I tell you what, though, you can keep that 180 pounds I left you.
I've still got work to do.
I'm not done yet, but I'm leaving here with just all the confidence in the world.
And I feel like that athlete agate.
I'm ready for anything.
Coming up on heavy I'm going home.
I just can't wait to see everybody.
Oh, my God! It's not even the same guy anymore.
She always wanted a beach wedding, and I want to tell you, I'm ready for that.
You guys ready to do this? We're giving you a beauty makeover.
- It's been six months.
- It's a whole new life.
- Uh-huh, it is.
I cannot wait for my friends and family to see me.
My life's totally changed now, and I feel very confident.
- We're so proud of you.
- Thank you.
I'm so proud of myself.
I can't even express it.
I'm just so emotional, because we've been keeping in touch, like, through texting and email, but now I'm gonna see how she's physically changed.
[Cheers and applause.]
- Ah-ahh! Hey.
Dad.
Debbie, you look so good.
I'm so proud of you.
Thank you.
Ahh! - You look so good.
- Thank you.
It's just been a remarkable transformation.
Amazing.
I have to admit I teared up a little bit.
It was it was really emotional.
I literally worked my ass off.
F.
[Laughter.]
Aah! You look great! Look at you! I know.
What I thought of Debbie when she walked through the door is unbelievable.
She now has a chance to live, to have a life she didn't think she had.
Lookin' good, Deb! Oh, thank you.
[Applause.]
Here we are at salon lotus.
'Cause I feel like a different person.
I've changed inside and out.
[Knock at door.]
Is it the door? Is it the door? Is it him? [Laughing.]
- Hey! - Aah! Oh, my God.
Oh, my God! I'm in shock.
It's not even the same guy anymore.
He looks completely different.
That is the thinnest he's ever been in his life, ever.
Ever, High School, college.
That is the smallest he's ever been.
While I was gone, y'all motivated me every day.
I had to do everything I could [Crying.]
Don't start crying! [Crying.]
Your mascara will run.
You can see, my family won't let me get emotional.
I about lost it in there, and they brought me back down to earth.
Oh, it's great being home, but it's time to party.
It's been six months, and I'm ready to go meet my friends, and I'm excited to show them all the work I've done.
[Group chanting "Ronnie!".]
I couldn't have done it without all of y'all's support.
It was hard, but I lost 180 pounds in six months.
[Cheers and applause.]
I love you, Kara.
Look, everybody knows we've already made a vow of how much we love each other, and we want to be married, but she told me since the first time we were together she always wanted a beach wedding, [tearfully.]
T I was too embarrassed to do it.
But I picked this little shell up here, and I want to tell you, I'm ready for that beach wedding.
[Applause.]
This is a picture of our - I love you.
- I love you.
It was awesome seeing him really make the difference and my wheels are spinning and min my head.
I just I can't believe that Ronnie lost weight and that we're really gonna get married.
This is amazing.
[Applause.]
[Applause.]
