Flowers in Bloom

[tense music playing]
[man on radio] The family
is walking out the door.
[Lisa] Shut the door behind you, baby.
[Nasyah] Can you give me my book bag?
[man on radio] Wheels up, eastbound.
[Danielle] Here we go!
Lisa Flowers has no idea 200 people
are about to take over her home.
By now, she's forgotten that months ago
her friend Lori submitted her
for a home makeover show.
What Lori didn't tell her
is that we picked her.
I'm nominating Lisa for this renovation
because she deserves this.
We do this every day for homeowners.
We take care of veterans,
seniors, disabled individuals
that don't have the resources
to take care of themselves,
and keep them warm, safe, dry.
I work for a small nonprofit
called HouseProud Atlanta.
We do no-cost repairs
for seniors and the disabled.
So anything that's
gonna help them stay in their homes.
It was just a perfect fit for me
because I really love seniors,
I really love veterans.
[Lori] She puts everybody else first.
And Lisa deserves to have somebody
take care of her for a change.
[Lisa] This is a two-bedroom,
one-bath house.
[Tristan laughing]
[Lisa] I am a proud mother of two kids,
Tristan and Khalil.
I'm sharing a room with that guy.
We always messing with each other.
We share a desk.
There's a lot of junk
from both of us on it.
His markers and then my books.
[Lisa] And now
I have my goddaughter, Nasyah.
She lost her mom a few years ago,
then she moved in with us.
[Nasyah] I really like galaxies.
I really like looking at it a lot.
And I didn't want her to ever feel
like she was an afterthought,
so I gave her my room,
and I took what used to be the dining room
that doesn't have a closet.
Time to brush your teeth.
The thing that I need the most
is a second bathroom.
If nothing else, a second bathroom
[Nasyah] Are you guys done yet?
I need to use the bathroom.
would totally transform my life
and my kids' lives.
Ooh!
My cabinets, they're so old and outdated,
it's ridiculous.
And the dishwasher
gave up on life years ago,
but I just made the kids
be the dishwashers.
I put this house on the back burner.
It is very expensive in this market
to be able to do the type
of renovations that I would need,
especially being a single mom
kinda on a non-profit salary.
She deserves to have a place
to come home to
that we try to provide to our homeowners
on a regular basis.
[Danielle] Lori's only job today is to
keep Lisa away from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Any longer than that and those kids
are gonna have a million questions.
They think they're
just celebrating a birthday.
But really,
the team has been rehearsing for months
to pull this off in 12 hours.
The time is now ♪

there's a lot of shade in here.
[Adair] I like it a lot.
Now I know the family
loves watching movies together.
We can actually take

more like home for the boys.

this used to be the dining room,

We're gonna build out some armoires
so that Nasyah has storage in the room,
and she can put all of her things away.
And then remember the old kitchen?
-And it had that butcher block?
-[Paige] Yes!
[Adair] Lisa hated it?
It's gonna be so much better.
The kitchen is getting a complete refresh.
So all new kitchen cabinets,
countertops, appliances,
and then open shelving for storage.
Okay, so Lisa doesn't exist
currently in this house.
I don't see her personality reflected.

This isn't even a bedroom,
it's a dining room.
Her clothes and her belongings
are on the ground in suitcases

Lisa share a bathroom,
she's getting her own.

square footage to a house.
B, can we do this in the time allotted?
Because this is a lot.
Erik and I collaborated on this idea
that what if we pre-built a bathroom,
brought it on over,
and attached it to the house?
How is this happening?
All right, so we're
gonna test it out like we always do.

The question is

We gotta just make sure that

-My mom was a single mom too.
-Mmm.
Raising one daughter and two boys.
-Oh, wow! Wow!
-Right?
We only had one shower,
we only had one main bathroom.
Like, if anybody deserves their own space

This one does, right?
Now let's sacrifice to the gods and hope
that this thing doesn't take more damage.
-'Cause we ain't got the time!
-[Danielle muttering]
Adair, Paige, Nick!
-We got a bathroom coming in!
-[Paige] Yes!
I need you guys to make sure the runners
we have underneath line up in there.
[intriguing music playing]
[Erik] The bathroom.
Assuming it gets there in one piece,
assuming it gets there without any damage,
then we actually have
to attach the bathroom,
and the electrical,
and the plumbing in fashion,
which could affect
the entire back half of the day.
[Nick] If this takes
any longer than an hour,
then this whole living wall is toast.
At a certain point, we're gonna have
to prioritize the pergola,
because if the pergola doesn't get up,
we're gonna have a thousand plants there
that are just sitting there
with nowhere to go.
[Erik] We might have to steal these
design guys and turn them into build guys
and have them
jump on that project as well.
My suggestion is that
you guys start thinking about
maybe like a luxury port-a-potty,
because if this hole is open
and there's no bathroom,
where's Lisa going?
She's gonna have the same problem
that she started with.
-[Nick] Erik, this is really steep.
-I know.
[Danielle] Very muddy.
The floor is not solid at all.
So we could get stuck, number one.
We could get stuck in the mud.
I'm less worried about getting stuck.
See this bouncing happening
and we're not even off the street?
[Danielle] No, we're not.
If this thing continues to bounce,
my worry, my concern at the moment,
is that those other two slabs
take damage the same way.
Then we have to deal with the entire
shower stall instead of just the one wall.
No, no, no! This cannot happen!
-Not today.
-[Erik] It's not ideal.
Once it's attached to the house,
we can reassess the damage.
Then we can decide what we
need to do in order to make repairs.
[Danielle] OMG.
This really makes me nervous.
[suspenseful music playing]
[all exclaiming]

None of this was tested.
What was tested was flat residential road
on the back of a truck trailer.

This is the priority. Let's make sure
we can get that down afterwards.
Yeah. All right.
The team is crushing it.
Nick is ahead in the front yard,
and Erik is getting the pergola up

But we're still a half hour behind.
[upbeat music playing]
[Adair] Remember, this split

He's bringing a whole new slab.

And he's not here.
And he's not answering the phone.
So there's a strong possibility
that Lisa Flowers could come in here
I don't wanna even think about that.
-We have so many things to do.
-Okay. Okay.
[upbeat music playing]
Talk to me. Where y'all at?
The mural in Lisa's bedroom is finished.
The artist got it done in the hour,
which is great.
The slab is on the way.
It just hasn't gotten here yet.
This is a huge problem!
Yeah. We also have the problem
of Lisa and the family coming home,
potentially,
and there not being furniture.
[Nick groaning]
-[Adair] The trailer's not here yet.
-[Erik] We still don't have the trailer?
The trailer has all the furniture
and it just hasn't gotten here yet.
Okay, okay, okay.
We also have a whole backyard that,
yes, the pergola's done,
but there's currently no sod down there,
and we haven't finished
putting the living wall on the pergola
or the home theater.
We got a lot to do! What's the plan?
Since you're waiting on things
for the inside,
I'll hop out back with you
so we can double time it.
As soon as that trailer comes,
we can get inside
and start hanging things up.
Yeah, 'cause it's gonna be
all hands on deck.
-Yes.
-[Erik] Anything else?
Yeah. Let's go.
[dramatic music playing]
-[Adair] Nick.
-Yeah?
-[Adair] I have a problem.
-[Nick] The pergola's beautiful, right?
It looks amazing with the living wall.
I'm really happy about it.
[Adair] Yeah, this is my first time
seeing it, and then I saw this.
See how bad that looks?
-[groaning] That plywood. That was missed.
-Yep.
So now we have to very quickly
come up with a solution
to make this beautiful.
'Cause it can't just be plywood.
We could stain the plywood.
Same color as the window boxes
and the awnings.
-Can we go darker stain?
-Yeah, that's an option.
All right.
I'm gonna leave it to you to get it done
Yep.
in the timeliest fashion.
-I have so many things inside

-[man] It'll be all right.
But where is that trailer?
I keep looking at my phone
