Murderville (2022) s01e06 Episode Script
The Cold Case
1
Meet Terry Seattle,
Homicide Division.
For Terry, every day means a new murder case, and a new celebrity guest star as his partner.
Today's guest: actor and comedian Ken Jeong.
But here's the catch.
Ken isn't being given a script.
He has no idea what's about to happen.
Together, he and Terry will have to improvise their way through the case.
But it'll be up to Ken alone to name the killer.
So join them as they punch a one-way ticket to Murderville.
There's an ancient saying, "Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.
" I always remember that quote because of how stupid it is.
Preparation is for losers.
Dumb luck is where it's at.
Big news, everyone! We just got a break in Lori's cold case! Yes! Right there, right there, right there, right there, come on, come on, come on, get in, get in here, get in here, you dawg, get in here, Daz didn't realize it was you.
Might have to take that hug back later when I don't like you again.
Ah, you can't take hugs back, Terry.
Nobody owns hugs.
Okay.
Whatever, weirdo.
Why were you just hugging Daz? Did you plant drugs on him? Chief, remember how my partner Lori was murdered fifteen years ago, and her case has haunted me ever since, and it eventually ruined our marriage? Yes? Last night, the phone on Lori's desk.
This desk that I've left completely untouched for fifteen years, that phone rang.
And a man on the other end of that phone, he said that he had something very important to tell me about Lori.
What was it? That her dry cleaning needed to be picked up.
That's right.
Apparently they have a very strict policy about items left over fifteen years or something.
Anyway, I went there to pick it up and guess what I found in her jacket? Tommy Tune? Oh, sorry, wrong pocket.
This.
A notebook.
In Lori's handwriting.
Written entirely in code.
Yeah, let me see that.
I mean, I knew that Lori was working on an investigation off the books at the time of her death, I just If we could crack that code, Chief, we might be able to find out who killed her and why.
It could be something, it could be nothing.
I'll look into it.
In the meantime I've got you a new partner.
What? No, no.
Chief, not today.
Come on, you're kidding me.
Today of all days? Come on in, Ken! - Hey.
- Hi, how are you doing? Ken.
This is Senior Detective Terry Seattle.
Terry, this is your new partner.
- Ken Jeong.
- Well.
- Hi.
- No offense, Ken, but I already got myself a partner.
It's called my gun.
- Jeez.
- Wait a second.
Where's my gun? Hold on.
Hold on one second.
Hey, can you get me Dennis in Firearms? Hey, listen, it happened again.
I don't know, maybe like on a tray at Panda Express.
Or try Ruby Tuesday's.
Okay.
- Have fun, you two.
- Thank you.
Pop a seat.
Okay.
Ken Jeong.
Tell me about yourself.
Married, two kids.
I love to solve puzzles.
What kind of vocation are you in? Before, actually, I used to have a day job.
I used to be a doctor.
- I used to be a physician.
- Wow! Yeah.
But it wasn't really my calling and I wanted to do something else.
What else? Doctor? Oh, well, I also wanted to go into entertainment and the arts and Why? Why would you think you could do that? To me, it's just something I've always wanted to do.
Now, that's funny.
Very funny.
I wanted to go to space.
- But, you know - Right, right.
Right, right.
So that didn't pan out.
Yeah, so right, and But I do love to push myself and I would love to assist you in any way I can.
I like the cut of your jib, Ken Jeong, and I tell you what, I'm gonna let you in on a little trade secret.
Okay.
When you want to keep a suspect off balance, the best thing you can do is constantly change the tone and also the volume of your voice.
- Do you understand me? - Yes.
Yes, sir.
Do you get that? - That shocked you.
- Yeah.
Okay.
Now, I want you to tell me the story of Little Red Riding Hood, keeping that in mind.
Go.
I'll be coaching you.
- Little Red Riding Hood - Lower.
was going on her way - Happy.
- to give - Louder.
- her - Loud! - Grandma something! But But she hesitated - Normal.
- and wanted to - French.
- Allons allez-vous - Whisper.
- Maintenant.
In English.
Now.
What happened to Little Red Riding Hood? - She died! - That got me.
Okay.
And then, big maniacal laughter for the wolf.
You're facing the wolf - turned out to be you! - Tears.
All along.
- And scene.
Great job, Ken Jeong.
- Thank you.
I don't know what this is, Detective.
But you're going to get your chance to find out.
I'm reopening Lori's murder investigation.
Yes! Chief! Oh! And also, you're gonna have to stop living out of your office, Terry.
We're getting a rodent problem.
- So you've been living out - I tell you what, joke's on her, 'cause I am about to close on a very sweet condo down at the Monterey Towers by the Esplanade.
- Congratulations.
- Yup.
And they got a honor bar and they got all-nude sundaes.
What does all-nude sundaes mean? Like just sundaes but without any of the hot sauce or caramel.
Basically just ice cream.
All right.
We are about to investigate the murder of my former partner Lori.
And if we discover the killer, we may not just avenge her murder, we may also unravel a vast conspiracy.
Are you ready to unravel a vast conspiracy? Yes, I am.
I am ready to unravel a vast conspiracy.
- When are we ready to do it? - Now! - Let's go! - Let's go! Lori had died in 2006, so to solve this case, Ken and I were going to have to go back in time.
This is the site where my former partner Lori was murdered fifteen years ago.
It's crazy that her chalk outline is still here.
Amber just traced that.
We're recreating the crime scene.
Right.
Right, I know, of course.
Of course.
Hey, welcome.
I'm Daz.
Welcome.
- Ken.
Nice to meet you.
- Don't Ken Jeong is my partner, okay? Not yours.
And he and I have a very special bond that can't be broken.
If you become friends with him, I'm going to burn down your house.
So.
When paramedics arrived, they found Lori face up, two stab wounds in her upper back.
I'm having a tough time imagining with just the outline.
Daz, you're pretty good at stabbing people in the back.
Do you wanna pop down there and take Lori's spot? Terry! Well, okay, fine.
Ken, you do it.
Just jump down there and take Lori's spot.
Are you on my side or not? No, I'm on your side.
So just jump down and Get in the position so we can get a full sense of it.
Yup.
Get right in there.
Obviously you're not going to be able to do her clubfoot.
She had a terrible clubfoot, which was maybe slowly be dying, too.
You know what I mean? I'm also gonna need you to take a bunch of notes too, 'cause you gotta keep track of the evidence.
Do you have a notepad? - Okay.
- Yeah.
All right, so we pulled all of the evidence from the original crime scene.
CSI recovered this cracked lens from a pair of eyeglasses.
Strong prescription, right? Lori didn't wear glasses so this must have belonged to the killer.
They also recovered a ticket stub from a James Taylor concert.
Ooh.
Oh, wow! I hate James Taylor.
I hate North Carolina.
Oh, I was raised in that state along with James Taylor, but Keep dying, Ken.
- What else, Amber? - If you look right above you, a four-leaf clover pin.
Ah - You see it? - Yeah.
Is it just me or did this killer leave a lot of evidence by the way? I mean, how did How did we not solve this after 15 years? There's a ton of evidence.
And then, there's the murder weapon.
A professional-grade hunting knife, yeah.
- There it is.
- Wow.
How are we doing on the dying, Ken? You dying over here or what? Okay, that's pretty good.
Oh.
And there's this infamous mystery card.
You know, we found this in Lori's pocket.
Three rectangles cut out.
We've never been able to figure out what it was.
Wait, hey! Give me this.
What are you doing, Terry? It's Lori's book, I just No.
I knew it.
Look at this.
This highlights three names.
Seamus Doyle.
Rebecca Hendricks, and Donald Barton.
Police Commissioner Donald Barton? I bet they were involved in whatever Lori was investigating.
Yeah, duh! These are our three main suspects.
Get up, Ken Jeong.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
- Good job.
- Thank you.
If we're gonna crack this case, we're gonna need to go deep undercover.
The only question is: How deep are you willing to go, Ken Jeong? I'm willing to go very deep, Terry.
I felt like you were so close to saying you were going to go balls deep.
- I will go balls deep, Terry.
- Oh, God.
That's what I wanted to hear.
Let's go crack this case.
Our first suspect was Seamus Doyle, former enforcer for the Irish mob, current inmate at City State Penitentiary.
Don't worry, they're fine.
Okay, now listen, Seamus will never talk to a cop, but he may confide in a fellow prisoner.
So you're gonna go in there and be his new cellmate, all right? Okay.
Now I want you to gain his confidence and find out everything he knows about Lori's death before he murders you.
Okay, and do me this favor, put this earpiece in and I'm gonna be feeding you lines and you say exactly what I tell you to say.
Trust me.
Okay? On your feet, Seamus! Who the hell are you? Are you new? No.
I mean I'm like a substitute correctional officer.
Sort of like a substitute teacher but for jail.
And this is Victor "Boomboom" Santiago and he is a bad dude.
Say something really tough, Boomboom.
What's up? Ugh.
Well, anyway, I'll just leave you two to it.
Remember, Boomboom, say everything I tell you to say exactly.
You got it.
- My cell, my rules.
- Yep.
Right.
- We're doing pushups.
- Okay.
- Down there.
- Oh, now? - Let's go.
- Okay.
Down! I just do it on the weekend, that's why I'm tired.
- Six.
- I just do it on the weekend, that's why - I'm tired.
- Seven.
I can do one more.
Hey, I know a fun game.
Hey, I know a fun game.
Let's talk about some crimes we've committed.
Let's talk about some crimes we've committed.
I'll tell you the name of someone I've murdered I'll tell you the name of someone I've murdered And then you tell me the name of someone you've murdered.
And you tell me the name of someone you've murdered.
- I'll go first.
- I'll go first.
- I murdered - I murdered - Santa Claus.
- Santa Claus.
Look, you listen to me, Boomboom! You leave me be! You leave me alone! Or you'll get the fire and the rain.
He's not warming up.
Some people are just cold and unapproachable.
I guess that's you.
I'm going to Plan B.
I'm coming in.
Oh, you're laughing? You won't be laughing till this is Come in.
Well, if it isn't the substitute.
Well, I've got to level with you, Seamus, I'm not a real substitute corrections officer.
I knew it! My name is "Fancy" Clancy O'Malley and this is me best mate Liam Neeson.
Well, that makes much more sense.
And we came here to bust you out.
- Right now? - That's right.
But we need to ask you some questions first, just to prove your identity.
- Fire away! - Here.
Liam, I need you to ask these questions in your natural Irish lilt.
Go ahead.
Uh What is your full name, son? Seamus Flannery O'Connell O'Sullivan Murphy Doyle.
Of the Dublin Doyles.
I'm Irish.
I'm from Ireland, like you, fellas.
What kind of soap do you use? Irish Spring.
How many people have you murdered? I have to clarify, between like killed and murdered, because I was a sniper in the army so I did a boatload of totally above board, legal killings.
Have you ever Have you ever sniped anyone, Liam Neeson? I don't think so.
Oh, it's the best.
Literally, the only way to kill.
Liam Neeson, I think you'd be quite taken by sniping someone.
Ah, you'd be taken, too.
What were you doing on the night of August 12th, 2006? Oh, that's How the hell am I Listen, I don't know what I was doing but I'm the man for you, all right? Seriously, I've extorted, I've murdered.
One time, I even terrorized an entire community into just abandoning their homes.
They just fled in the night! Now, no one but Seamus could have pulled off a thing like that.
You know, so come on, let's get out of here, boys! Wait! What's happening? Thanks for the evidence, Seamus.
Right here.
Is this part of it? Are you coming back for me? Are you coming back for me? They're not coming back for me, are they? Who are you talking to, Seamus? Suspect number two was Rebecca Hendricks.
She was the developer of the new Monterey Towers condo project, but had become famous as one of the stars of the investment competition show "Den of Snakes".
Okay, listen, I've figured out a way for us to interrogate Rebecca Hendricks and make it look like we're pitching a new product.
Doesn't matter what the product is, just pitch the hell out of it.
Just pitch it, don't think.
You guys are on.
- Okay.
- Okay.
Hello, snakes.
I'm Lincoln Jillcream and this is my partner Phil Danger.
- Say hi, Phil.
- Hi.
Hi, snakes.
We are about to introduce you to a revolutionary new product.
Check it out.
Introducing Ice Breakerz! Tell 'em our slogan, Phil.
Okay.
Oh, boy, you're shy at a party? Well, we'll improve it, and then we'll give you an ice breaker, literally.
Enjoy.
Jesus Christ.
Ice Breakerz combines the fun of ice cubes with the thrill of small talk.
And each cube contains a really fun little "get to know you" question.
But you can only get to it - If you - If you - Break the ice! - The ice! My kids Taylor and Jimmy would love this, they love strangers.
They got kidnapped twice is the downside but in general it's a positive.
Go ahead.
Would you like to see a demonstration? Yes, please.
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, Phil.
And slam it.
Ice Breakerz! Oh, well, Rebecca.
This first question's for you.
Phil, you want to do the honors, here? Rebecca! Where were you on the night of August 12th, 2006? Uh I don't remember, I'm sorry.
Come on.
A young Rebecca Hendricks, you were probably out on the town, having fun.
My maiden name was O'Leary so I know my way around a bar These guys know.
But, no, no, I'm sorry, I don't recall.
Let's try another.
- Yeah! - Yes! Let's do another one.
- You'll love this.
- Here we go.
Here we go.
All right.
The question! Ice Breakerz! - Here we go! - It's another one for Rebecca.
Rebecca, have you ever seen James Taylor in concert? I'm so confused.
Are all the questions for me? I don't understand.
Yeah, I think the kids are gonna love this, but I worry about limiting your market reach by only asking questions of people named Rebecca.
So I'm gonna have to pass.
Okay, hold on, hold on.
We're just starting to have fun.
We're having fun here.
We're gonna One more.
- One more.
Just a limited sample size.
- Here we go.
Break the ice! - I'm sorry.
- Ice Breakerz! - Here we go! - Okay.
Oh Rebecca, what is your eyeglass prescription? Okay, that seems very intrusive of a question.
For that reason, I'm gonna have to pass.
That's two passes.
The pitch has failed.
- Oh, throw us a bone here.
- Throw us a bone.
Just a couple more questions, maybe.
I don't know if you've ever watched the show, but I invest in products, I don't do handouts, okay? I earned my money the old-fashioned way.
I inherited a chain of hunting supply stores, so If you'd just help us Help? That's all I do is help.
I once took an entire neighborhood of low-income housing and flipped it to be high-end real estate for rich people.
Helping! - Okay.
Thank you.
- Great.
Thank you, snakes.
I airdropped ten thousand Sodastreams into Africa with the press of a button.
Helping! Our investigation was hitting dead ends left and right.
But the real crisis was still to come Oh, it's Monterey Towers calling.
My condo down the Esplanade must have closed.
Here we go.
Go for Terry.
Detective Seattle, it's Scott McCarley from Monterey Towers.
Scotty Ballgame, what's happening? I'm sorry, what was that? It's just a fun nickname that I made up for you.
I don't enjoy it.
Well, I'm calling you actually because your application hit a bit of a snag.
None of the people you used as references are willing to well, say anything nice about you.
Fuck! What? There are a ton of people who would vouch for me.
In fact, I'm here right now with the President of Finland.
You're with Finnish President Sauli NiinistÃ, right now? That's the guy.
He'd love to vouch for me if You've gotta pretend to be the President of Finland right now.
Say hi, Mr.
President.
Hello.
Oh, my God, it is such an honor to speak with you, Mr.
President.
I mean, I am actually, you know, a Finland buff myself.
Ah, you know, I spent some time in Hämeenlinna, a couple days in Kristiinankaupunki.
What's your favorite city? Aside from Helsinki.
Oh, it's my favorite place is kind of a deep cut.
It's a small town called Greensboro.
How do you spell it with all the dots and so forth? If you could take me through that? Oh, uh Well, uh, putting me on the spot, it's Un, a G Yeah.
Sure.
Well, it sounds like you're on the right track on that one.
I don't need to belabor it, but well, I certainly don't want to keep you.
Could you just tell me briefly why you think Detective Seattle would be a productive member of the Monterey community? In my dealings with him, he's always been a stand-up guy.
A real friend to the people of Finland.
He's a real friend to the people of Finland.
He was In fact, we have Terry Seattle Day in which we close the town of Helsinki and Greensboro.
Don't work.
Don't worry.
It's Terry Seattle Day.
Wow.
I think we're all set.
You know, a reference from the President of Finland is all I need.
We're gonna finalize the paperwork and we'll have it sent over.
- Oh, good.
Good.
- Yay! Hurray! This is great! Thank you, Scotty Ballgame.
Don't call me - Phew.
We barely got by.
Are you - What's - Yay.
- You gotta control yourself.
- Sorry.
- You're out of control.
I'm sorry.
With my real estate woes finally behind me, Ken and I set our sights on suspect number three: Police Commissioner Barton.
And to find out what he knew, I was going to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Putting Ken Jeong in harm's way.
Can you hear me? Yes.
Now, according to Barton's schedule, he's attending a horse diabetes fundraiser, so you got plenty of time to search his office, all right? Okay.
Now go take a look at his desk.
I got eyes on you the whole time, don't worry about it.
What do you see at the desk over there? Anything? I see glasses.
Glasses.
Cracked lens.
All right, check the drawers.
There's a taser.
Look to your left.
- What do you see? - Stapler.
- And daily planners.
- Perfect.
Look for 2006.
August 12th.
Yes.
Yes.
2009, 2008, 2007, 2000 There's no 2006.
2001, 2, 3, 4, 5 Oh, God.
It's Barton.
He must have left the horse diabetes event early.
Go, quick, behind the couch - Behind this couch? - Yes, yes, hide right down there.
Get down, get down, get down.
Get down.
Hmm hmm.
He's coming in, he's coming in.
Don't worry.
- Just do exactly what I say.
- Yes.
- Do not deviate.
- I'm sorry, dear.
I I had to get out of there.
You know I can't handle large crowds.
Why are you getting mad at me? I'm not the one who gave the horse diabetes.
Stay down low.
No, no, no, no.
I can't stand it when you cry.
What do you want me to do? Buy the horse? Yeah, yeah, stay low, stay low.
Sure they'll sell it to me.
People will do anything for the right amount of money.
Okay.
Love you too.
Stay low, stay low.
- Great.
Now I own a broken horse.
- Okay.
Stay there, stay put.
Now look His jacket is on the couch.
Can you reach it? Rifle through the pockets, see if there's anything in there.
I see a wallet.
A wallet.
Hunting license Hunting license.
Hunting license? Okay, he's working at his desk.
You'll be safe as long as you don't make any loud noises.
Hello? Oh, boy.
Ken what did you do? I didn't do anything, I swear.
Ken, I'm sorry, it's only you in there, so I mean, look, if you want me to play along, fine, if it's that important to you.
Who's there? Are you kidding me, Ken Jeong? That's disgusting.
What's wrong with you? Scoot behind the chairs.
Go to the chairs.
Now, listen, I'm coming to save you, but you need to stall.
Just do and say exactly what I tell you and you may just get out of this thing alive.
Reveal yourself! Stand up.
Sorry about the farts.
Sorry about the farts.
- Don't be alarmed.
I'm here to help.
- Don't be alarmed.
I'm here to help.
Who are you? And what are you doing in my office? I'm you from the future.
I'm you from the future.
You don't look like me.
See, in the future you can look like whoever you want.
In the future you can look like whoever you want.
- And you - And you - Wanted to look like - Wanted to look like A middle-aged Korean-American doctor.
A middle-aged Korean-American doctor.
You know, I always suspected something like this could happen.
That's why I came up with a code word to prove that future me was really me and not a terminator.
So I'm going to need you to give me that code word.
- Gosh, that was so long ago for me.
- Gosh.
That was so long ago - For me anyway.
- For me anyway.
Give me the code word.
- I'm just trying to remember - I'm just trying to remember.
Code word or you're a terminator.
- Uh, pancakes.
- Pancakes.
- Tommy Tuxedo.
- Tommy Tuxedo.
- Sloparita.
- Sloparita.
- Sludge.
- Sludge! - Tittynope.
- Tittynope.
- Wetzel's Pretzels.
- Wetzel's Pretzels.
- Tommy Tune.
- Tommy Tune! - Tommy Tune.
- Tommy Tune! Detective Seattle? What the hell is going on here? That's Senior Detective Seattle.
And what's going on is you're a suspect in the murder of my former partner Lori.
You do not waltz in here and accuse the Police Commissioner of murder.
Tough luck.
Just did.
Well, I don't believe in luck, so you better have evidence or your career as a detective is over.
I lost nine firearms in the last six months, so I'm probably my career is coming to an end anyway.
- Let's get out of here, Ken Jeong.
- Yeah.
What was the code word by the way? - It was Tommy Tune.
- It was Tommy Tune! It was Tommy Tune! What a showman.
After wrapping up our investigation, we lured all three suspects to Monterey Towers where Condo President Scott McCarley was hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
But the only thing that was gonna be cut was a plea deal for murder.
But anyway, thank you all for coming.
What a treat.
You know, this thing has been fifteen years in the making and right at the start of it I said to myself, I said, "You know, Scotty Ballgame, this is your chance to shine.
" "You're gonna make a speech that's gonna blow everyone away.
" "You got a decade and a half to get to it.
" And I don't really know how to explain what happened, but the time got away from me and I did not do it.
Stop! Before we christen this beautiful tower that I'm about to call home myself, my partner Ken Jeong and I have some unfinished business.
Ken? You've gathered all the evidence, you've looked at the clues.
Now it's time for you to decide who did it.
Was it Rebecca Hendricks? Seamus Doyle? Or Police Commissioner Barton? I want you to take those novelty scissors and I want you to hand them to the person you think killed my former partner Lori.
Go ahead.
Be careful, they're oversize.
Arrest that man for murder.
What is going on here? Chief, Ken Jeong did it.
He solved Lori's cold case murder.
It was Police Commissioner Barton.
Ken Jeong, why do you think Police Commissioner Barton was the killer? Because all the clues add up.
Number one: The lens that was cracked at the crime scene.
Commissioner Barton, in his office, has a pair of glasses.
Number two: The date in question was 2006.
The day planner that was missing was the year 2006.
And number three: There was a professional hunting knife at the scene of the crime.
And out of his wallet, I managed to get his professional hunter's license.
So in my mind, I know exactly who this is, and it is Commissioner Donald Barton.
Ken Jeong, your undercover work was incredible.
You completely lost yourself in the characters and you also completely chose the wrong suspect.
Agh! The killer was Rebecca Hendricks.
What? She wore prescription lenses, she inherited a hunting supply store.
I inherited a chain of hunting supply stores.
And she had Irish heritage.
My maiden name was O'Leary.
Obviously, it couldn't have been Commissioner Barton.
He only wore reading glasses, and he'd never attend a concert because as he told his wife You know I can't handle large crowds.
- Oh - Seamus meanwhile told you he only liked killing with a rifle.
Oh, it's the best.
Literally, the only way to kill.
And as a sniper, he had to have perfect eyesight.
But the clue that sealed Rebecca's fate, the James Taylor concert ticket.
She loved James Taylor.
How do we know? She named her kids after him.
My kids Taylor and Jimmy would love this.
Rebecca Hendricks was the killer.
Take her into custody.
Ken Jeong you're fired.
Wait, before you take her away, I need to know.
Why'd you kill Lori? I couldn't let her ruin all this.
This? This.
This is my life's work.
There is no higher calling than helping rich people live wherever they want.
Wait a second.
Wait a second, I get it! Now I know why Lori died.
Fifteen years ago, Rebecca Hendricks had a dream to develop Monterey Towers, but there was one problem, there was a working-class neighborhood that was in the way and she needed to clear them out.
I once took an entire neighborhood of low-income housing and flipped it to be high-end real estate for rich people.
So she enlisted Irish mobster Seamus Doyle to scare them into selling.
One time, I even terrorized an entire community into just abandoning their homes.
They just fled in the night! And she paid off Police Commissioner Barton, so he would make sure that the police would look the other way.
People will do anything for the right amount of money.
Lori had figured it out.
That's why their names were in her secret notebook.
Rebecca put the knife in Lori's back, but all three suspects were part of the conspiracy that led to Lori's death.
Arrest 'em all.
I'm already in prison.
Then you're going to a bigger one.
Oh, that'll work.
Then you're going to a smaller one.
You did it, Terry.
You avenged Lori's death.
And you uncovered the biggest corruption scandal in the city's history.
I'm so proud of you.
You did it.
Ken, could you provide a little background music, something a little sexy, - a little vibey for me? - Okay.
I got something I need to say.
Look, Rhonda, I know I've really made a mess of things in the last few years.
But this, what's happened here today has changed everything, and I just Now I know what my future needs to be.
No.
Chief Rhonda Jenkins-Seattle, will you do me the honor of not divorcing me? Ken, stop.
Get up.
You're making a fool of yourself.
Terry, I I will always care about you, but I'm with Daz now.
And we're moving in together, in fact, right here.
Wait.
You're moving into the Monterey Towers? Yeah.
A unit just opened up today.
Turns out the original applicant somehow had a negative credit score and pretended to be friends with the President of Finland.
- A total nut job.
- Stupid.
And the good news is I'm moving out of our house, so once the divorce is finalized, I'll rent it to you.
Oh, that'd be great.
That sounds very healthy.
I appreciate it.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes.
Please get out of here soon.
Yup.
Come on.
Aw Hey, bud.
Sorry about your life.
Thanks, Amber.
Chief invited me to her housewarming, so Are you gonna Yeah, yeah.
- Right in there.
Yeah.
- Definitely, yeah, why would you Beautiful Monterey Towers is a gorgeous place to, not just live, but also party.
Well, we did it, Ken Jeong.
No, you did it.
No, we did it.
We solved Lori's murder, and they'll never be able to take that away from us.
I mean, at least until, you know, obviously they find all the procedural mistakes that we made and they throw it out of court, but We'll leave that for another day.
No, I think there's just one thing left to do.
I think you probably know what it is.
Further investigating getting Ice Breakerz off the ground.
- Don't you think? - Yes! Yes! - It's a heck of an idea.
- I'm on it.
Yeah, we just need to be able to break the ice cubes a little easier.
- Right.
- Smash them
For Terry, every day means a new murder case, and a new celebrity guest star as his partner.
