Please, just take my college fund.
You cannot tell your dad.
Let's just get it out of the way.

REBEL: Helen made it
through her surgery.
Misha noticed deterioration
on the valve.
There could be something leaking
into the bloodstream.
Misha's gonna study it.
You think he's settling, Luke?
Oh, come on. Cruz is going broke.
You think he's settling,

Hey, Cruz. What's the word?
CRUZ: No deal.

The office could be bugged, too.
I checked. They didn't find anything.
You used the cheap guys.
We need the expensive guys.
Yeah, of course.
You really think Stonemore's
spying on us?
Don't you?
How'd they know about Helen's surgery?
I think Amir might've told ssy.
[SCOFFS] He said he didn't.
Not intentionally. Accidentally.
He said he didn't.
Okay, whatever. It's chilly, I'm tired.
What's the news?
For the past two weeks,
we've been investigating
everyone that could have
stolen Helen's valve.
It's gotta be one of these three people.

Maybe Ziggy mentione Helen's s.
SEAN: Uh, who's Helen?
She's a client, Sean,
and something went missing
after her surgery,
so we're wondering if you were
at the hospital that night.
Hang on. Are you accusing Sean
of stealing Helen's heart valve?
No, no, no, no.
Nobody's accusing anybody of anything.
What if I stole it?
You couldn't have.
You were helping deliver
Maddie's baby until 7:00.
You investigated me?
We investigated everyone.
Helen's heart valve went missing
sometime between 4:00 and 6:00 P.M.
A car with your license plate
was in the hospital parking lot
between 5:00 and 6:00.
So we need to ask yo once again
Were you at the hospital that night?

Oh. Hello. You're in my office.
I'd say make yourself at home,
but you already have.
Got a minute?
I'm just getting off call
d was gonna go home
and take an Epsom salt bath,
but you look serious and scary
Did something bad happen?
That's what we want to know.
Hospital call logs show that
in the past two weeks,
seven separate calls
were made from your office
to the offices of
the Stonemore Corporation.

[SIGHS]

I need to show you something.
Okay.
- [KEYBOARD CLACKS]
- This is footage
from a video camera outside the hospital
the night that my ient
valve went missing.
[KEYBOARD CLACKS]
When Rebel showed me this,
I was shocked.
This case is worth a lot of money,
and I don't put it past
Stonemore to hire someone
to get inside to get information.
And you think that's me?
I don't know, but I gotta ask.
What were you doing in
the hospital that night?
He was at the hospital to pick me up,
and I texted him that I got
a ride from one of you guys.
Can I see the texts?
I don't have it anymore.
Zig, we found out some other
stuff that makes us nervous.
Like what?
Well, Sean,
you said you were from Encino,
but there's no record of you
at Encino High.
There is, however, a record
of you at Hollywood High,
and not a very good record.
You were expelled for stealing
equipment from the computer lab.
And the home address that
you gave Hollywood High
is actually a weed dispensary,
which I'm assuming is not your home.
So, as Ziggy's parents,
we need to know some truth,
because there are
an awful lot of lies here.
Wow.
Okay.
I've been so nervous to tell you this
that I even practiced with my therapist,
and this is not how we planned,
but here goes.
I had breast cancer five years ago.
I'm in remission, but I have BRCA,
and I'm planning on getting
a double mastectomy,
and I was at the hospital for
a consultation with my surgeon.
And I was gonna tell you tonight
before we went to bed together,
but that is not gonna be
happening anymore,
'cause trust is a big deal with me.
Kinda out the window.
I'm gonna go now.
What's the name of your oncologist?

Ziggy said you used to be a cop,
but you aren't anymore.
That's right.
But I assume you have a gun.
So if I get up and walk out
that door right now,
you're not gonna shoot me?
[SCOFFS] No, of course not, Sean.
Cool.
Nice, guys.
Really nice.
I went to medical school and
then did five years of residency
and two years of a fellowship,
and you think I'd go through all that
but really be on the take from a company
that's trying to hurt people?
Well, what were those calls about?
I'm not a spy.
I can't believe you'd question
my integrity like that.
Misha, I investigated my husband,
and my own daughter,
but none of them made
seven calls to Stonemore.
I know this is terrible and intrusive,
but so are people dying because
we can't win a damn lawsuit.
I don't understand the corrosion
I saw on Helen's valve,
so I've been calling colleagues
trying to figure it out.
No one has any answers,
but a few people did say
that about two years ago,
there was a woman,
a Stonemore sales rep,
who was calling around
warning surgeons not to use
the valve, that it was flawed.
A whistle blower?
Her name's Kate Foster.
I called Stonemore to get
her contact number.
First person I spoke to
said there was no ex sales rep
by that name,
so I called again and again and again
and again and again and again.
Was that six "again" s?
Finally, someone admitted that, yes,
there was a woman named
Kate Foster who was a sales rep
who was fired for failing a drug test,
and she lives in Long Beach now.
So I called Kate Foster,
but she wouldn't talk to me.
She accused me of working for Stonemore
and trying to ruin her life.

Mr. Duncan, do you know the whereabouts
of every heart valve Stonemore

The company keeps records of that, yes.
Do you know the whereabouts
of the heart valve
removed from Helen Peterson?
No.
Did you or anyone in your employ
cause that valve to be removed
from California Midland Medical Center?
As a rule, when a valve is explanted,
it comes back to the manufacturer.
That valve is my property,
so if you're asking if I stole it,
how could I?
I own it.
But do I know where
it currently resides?

led to the death of a baby, he might
Get a conscience all of a sudden

I created a valve that's killing babies.
I knew it, and I'm sorry"?
- I don't think so.
