[crowd] Defense!
[commentator] Jokić.
Backdoor, Holiday throws it down.
Now that's gonna do it.
The Denver Nuggets beat the Lakers
for the third time.
Good one. Stay healthy.
[Davis] You gotta stop breaking records.
Every time you break one, we lose.
[LeBron] Every time, bro.
Every fucking time.
This shit is disgusting.
It's not a record.
[man] As long as you tell us when it's
your last game. That's the record.
I'm not I'm not telling nobody.
- [Davis] You tell me.
- No, I'm not telling nobody.
I won't Nobody know.
I just won't show up at work the next day.
[Davis laughs]
Nobody's gonna know.
[Davis] He get 45.
[man] If you got 45,
you might as well get 46, to double 23.
If he get 46, shit,
he might as well go to get 50.
[laughs]
[sighs]
I low-key wanna see him get 50,
but that's tough.
That's tough. That's a lot of buckets.
[LeBron] To play this game
at this highest level, I mean,
I think back to when I was a kid
and grew up watching the NBA
and wanted to be a part of this league
and watching all the greats,
knowing some of the things
that the greats did in this league
in order to become,
like, you know, forever known and
Some of this shit don't even
it don't even make sense, to be honest.
Don't even feel real.
It's like I'm living in a dream.
I really be trippin' sometimes.
- Man
- [man] March 2nd.
Yeah, March 2nd, 2024,
the first player ever
to score 40,000 points.
It's pretty cool, man. It's pretty cool.
I just wanna get home
and get out of this shit,
put some shorts and a T-shirt on,
drink some wine,
and relax. That's it.
[LeBron] I've never set out a record goal
or things like that in my in my career.
I've had a goal of, like,
winning Rookie of the Year,
being the MVP of the league,
winning a championship, making All-Stars.
- [Zhuri] I wanna eat!
- I'm I'm starving.
You ate today. Listen, I'm starving too.
Hopefully, being
the greatest that ever played the game.
Like, those are
some of the goals that I had.
I never set out, like, scoring records
or things of that nature.
It just kind of organically happened.
I don't think no one's gonna beat it
because I've seen a lot of players
like, have, like, a lot of points
in their games and everything,
but, like, 40,000 is crazy.
- [LeBron] Sleepy?
- [Zhuri] Mm-hmm.
- [LeBron] You wanna go night-night?
- Mm-hmm. I'm starving.
- [LeBron] You got school tomorrow.
- No, I don't.
What's up? I like how you look.
Know what I'm sayin'?
- Doin' that thang, huh?
- [squeals]
To be there and experience that with him
and to kind of have
an understanding of the names below him
and how this is really a historic moment,
like, happening in front of me,
I I was just My heart was full.
Like, I was just super happy for him.
And, I mean, I couldn't bel
I couldn't believe it,
but I could believe it.
Savannah has allowed me to,
basically,
be as great
as I wanted to be with my career
and my journey
'cause she knew I wanted to be
the greatest of all time.
And Savannah allowed me to do that
by basically saying, "I got this,"
at the house.
"Don't worry about it. I got it."
That is, um
Fuck, she's, uh
she's the greatest.
You get lost in your own journey
because you're trying to,
like, push the limit,
push the throttle, see how far you can go.
"Oh shit. That's the sky.
Oh, what's beyond that?"
I'm trying to go, pfft, past that.
"Oh, that's What's up there?"
I'm trying to go, you know
I wanna go beyond that.
Like, there's no ceiling,
you know, and while you're
on that trajectory, you know,
you're you know, you're at times,
you're looking down like, "Oh shit."
"My family's down there. Oh, I gotta"
You know?
And they're like, "Go."
Savannah's like, "Go."
"Fuck it. Go."
"We know you coming back. Fuck, just go."
"I I got Bronny.
I got Bryce. I got Zhuri."
"I got 'em."
And you just like
You trying to say thank you,
but you're so fucking high at that point
that she don't even hear you.
My heart is full to know
that he sees the work on the other side,
even though I'm not like, you know,
pumping and sweating
and doing all the things.
Like, it looks easy, but it's definitely,
um, nice for that to be noticed.
I don't see anybody else
that would allow me to do that.
I don't see
any other partner or best friend
that would allow me to do that.
[commentator] A beautiful sight.
Welcome into the Twin Cities.
Tonight, it's the Timberwolves
taking on the Sacramento Kings.
Could this be a playoff preview?
[Edwards] I love playing Sacramento.
It's always a good game.
I'm super competitive. I love to compete
when I see them on the schedule
'cause they got DFox and Sabonis,
and, you know,
I don't wanna be interrupted.
I wanna play the full game.
Anthony Edwards is having
a phenomenal year this year.
They're number one in the West now.
[commentator] Edwards. Pull-up for three
- Bottoms!
- [commentator 2] A funny move.
[commentator] Edwards.
- Around the Gobert screen.
- [commentator 2] A long two.
[commentator] Freed up. Hits the J.
[commentator 2] It's because
he's productive most nights.
- [commentator] Edwards, hard drive
- [phone ringing]
[commentator] What we were talking about.
A matter of time.
[commentator 2] A matter of time!
- [man] Go ahead, Shannon. What's up?
- [Shannon] Where are y'all?
[man] I'm sitting in
the players' garage in drive, ready to go.
[Shannon] Well, y'all probably
finna miss this shit.
[man] Hell nah, we not.
[commentator] Edwards out
for the remainder of the game
Are you leaving now?
due to personal reasons.
[man] Come on. Ant ain't got no shirt on.
We coming right now.
- [man] I'm on the way.
- [Edwards] I'm sweaty as a motherfucker.
- [man] I'm on the way, bro.
- [Edwards] God, crazy.
We on our way!
[tires squeal]
[horn beeping]
[energetic music playing]
