1 Los Angeles.
Tinseltown.
Nearly every action star got their start here.
Now three new teams hope to become stars in their own action/adventure "The Great Escape.
" Where there's a will, there's a way out.
My name's Dwight, and I'm from Altadena, California.
My name is Jared.
I'm a senior in high school, and I am 18 years old.
Our relationship is real easy to define son Father.
Because of how much camping, backpacking stuff we do, we have plenty of experiences in hairy situations.
We'll do okay.
Winning the prize money is not going to just help me and Jared.
I mean, there's five people that live in the house.
It's no secret business has been tough.
My mom, Dara.
This is my daughter, alix.
I'm a scrappy fighter, so the two of us Together, we can definitely kick Winning this money will change my life.
Having a fresh start right out of college would be a dream come true.
Had a rough few years, and it would really make a world of difference.
I'm Jevin Smith.
And I am Tasha Smith.
And we are happily married.
Anybody that come against us, just know you about to get dealt with.
I think we're a great team because we have an amazing bond better than most couples that I know of.
We have three kids, and We want to take home the money.
We're actually looking to move and get a bigger house.
We're here To crush the competition.
Guards, remove their blindfolds.
I see rich, and I have no idea where we are.
There's no turning back.
We're in this big, concrete tunnel.
What the heck? Welcome to Los Angeles.
You're standing deep underground in 11 Miles of cavernous tunnels that connect dozens of government buildings in downtown Los Angeles.
With 14 million residents crowding its streets every day, this is one of the largest cities in the world.
Tonight, you'll be trying to escape it.
But achieving that goal will be anything but simple.
You'll start in the detainment zone, restrained inside a cage deep beneath downtown Los Angeles.
After freeing yourselves, you'll need to find your escape-route map.
This map will guide you through four stages, and your final test is the transport zone on the way to making your great escape.
You cannot move on to the next stage until you have successfully completed each challenge and find a piece of the great escape key.
Only when all four pieces are found and the key is properly assembled will my whereabouts be revealed to you.
The first team that gets to me with the accurately assembled great escape key will unlock the box and instantly become $100,000 richer.
Green team! At various points during your escape, you may encounter patrolling guards who are on three designated routes and timed rotations.
If you're smart, you can plan your escape timing accordingly.
If you are caught, you must drop everything but your map, and you'll be escorted back to the detainment zone, where you'll be restrained once again and have to make your way back out to the game.
Good luck.
Guards, lock 'em up.
Blindfolds come back on, and I'm kind of freaking out at that point.
I didn't know we were actually gonna be, like, locked up.
I don't know what I've gotten me and my husband into.
Down in the tunnel, I know that alix is just ready to kill me.
I am scared out of my mind.
My heart is beating so fast.
When the city hall clock strikes midnight, the escape is on.
This game could go either way, but all I know is we gonna go get it.
All I saw was, like, a cage.
How do I get out? What the heck? You okay? Yeah.
You all right? Okay, let's do the right and then the left.
There you go.
There you go.
That's it.
We got it.
There it is, baby.
Go, go, go.
Okay.
This is for us to take.
This is something to carry stuff in.
Now we got to look for the map.
There.
That can be pushed open, dad.
No, it's locked right here, pal.
Kick it.
There may be a trick door.
Yeah.
Lift that up.
Lift it up.
Lift it up.
All right, take the bag.
Go, girl, go! There we go! There we go! We got it.
We got it! Go ahead, mami.
You guys, get me out! Get me out! Get me out! We can't be the only ones left in this thing.
Wait.
We got to get a map.
Okay, LA.
That works.
Go for it.
Do you want to go down here to check? What do you think? Storage.
Go.
Is this anything? Jare, look for a map.
I don't know, baby.
Okay, Tash.
Come on.
Start unrolling stuff.
We got blueprints.
These are huge.
I don't know.
We're looking for a map.
Dude.
Is it it's exactly what that guy showed us? Yeah.
We both realized the map has to be in the cage, so we book it back.
Now what? I got it.
I got it.
Go back in again.
Shoot! My dad yells at me, "go, go.
Go back in the cage," so here I've got to break back into the cage we just broke out of.
Look inside that pipe.
Keep looking, mom! I'm looking! I'm looking! Blue team has escaped detainment zone.
Give me the map! Whoo! I don't think it's down here, unless I'm just missing it.
Go back in.
Check in there.
Look inside, on the floor.
Yeah.
It's got to be there.
Let's get this off.
I bet it's in this.
Come on.
There it is.
There we go, LA.
There we go, baby.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
Go.
We got it! All right.
Let's look at it.
We need a game plan.
What do you think? I couldn't believe that I couldn't find it.
I don't know what to do.
Tell me what to do! Son of a where is it? I don't know what to do.
Tell me what to do! Son of a where is it? Okay, "stage 2 ramp and through sewage pipe.
" Jared.
What? Okay, we're in the storage room.
Come on.
Freaking hot.
We were in the detainment zone, right? Yeah.
And we ran this way.
"Stage 1 highway patrol storage room.
" We forgot that.
Shoot.
Blue and green teams have made it out of the detainment zone.
The blue has reached the storage room, but the green team has just realized they misread their map and must make their way back, while the red team remains in the detainment zone, frantically looking for their map that will lead them to stage 1.
"Stage 1.
" "Detainment zone.
" "Open the safe by using" Stage 1.
We got to go.
"dates on the calendar.
" This is stage 1, the storage room.
Here, teams will have to use the calendar to find three circled dates that make up the numerical combination to open one of the large safes.
Inside, they'll find a flashlight they'll need later and the first piece of the great escape key.
"Open the safe by using dates on the calendar.
" Dates on the calendar.
So, 1-19.
1-19-68.
Try it.
Stage 1.
Storage room.
That's the storage room.
"Open safe by using dates on calendar.
" There's steam coming down on us.
It's crazy! It's got to be in plain sight.
I cut myself.
I'm trying to stop the blood, and I don't want to stop.
But it's like, "let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
" December, so 12.
She told me the combination, which was December 1977.
So I'm like, "oh, yeah.
"We got this.
We got this.
" And we didn't have it.
There's just three numbers.
I was afraid to untwist the pipe, because I was afraid steam would come out and I would get burned or something.
Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.
Turn the whole thing.
Go, go! You got it! You got it.
Whoo! We got it! We got it! We got it! Red team has escaped detainment zone.
We tried January 1968 50 different times.
Yeah.
That was my next move.
Let's go! Let's go! Hey, you're welcome!! "Stage 1 highway patrol room.
" Come on, mom! I'm coming.
Pick it up! Mom, down here.
"Dates on calendar.
" 1, 1983.
Shh! Nope.
It's not opening.
"Step 1 dial to the left.
" Okay, that's why, 'cause it's January 6th.
There's circled dates and numbers, and Jared figures out, like, April 17 would be 4-17.
6-3-8.
6-3-8, okay.
Right.
Now 42.
That's not the first one.
Okay.
To the right, 19.
We got it.
We got it.
We got it.
Second number, 8-3.
Ah, come on! Let me do it.
Do it.
Clear it.
Clear it.
Take the tools.
Oh, that's a light.
A light.
Take that.
Go.
Blue team has completed stage 1.
We can't let blue team beat us, baby.
It says, "run up the ramp and through the sewage pipe and take a cellphone.
" In stage 2, teams will reach these sewer pipes.
They'll have to climb up this slippery ramp, open up one of three manhole covers, and crawl into a long pipe filled with sludge to search for a cellphone and the second piece of the great escape key.
Want to leave it? I'm bringing the saw.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, that's awesome! I stepped on the ramp, and it's slick.
I don't know what's on it.
So I went back about 20 feet and ran forward, and I just figured I'm gonna go for it.
Aw, now there's pressure.
My dad's able to push the grate through and climb through, and then I come in after him.
There's a manhole right in front of us.
We pry the manhole up, and we look in, and sewer.
Oh, that's nice.
That's just straight-up crap, huh? Oh, my gosh.
That's delicious! Pull me out.
Pull me out.
Can you grab the side? Yeah.
Pull me up.
You want to come facefirst.
It's crucial for teams to remember that guards are patrolling the underground tunnels on designated routes and timed rotations.
If teams are not careful, they will be sent back to detainment.
So, the message is simple don't get caught.
Let me tell you what I'm thinking.
I'm thinking that this is wrong.
Ready? Come on We've already tried it your way.
Let's try it mine now.
This has got to be it.
Yeah, that don't work.
Wait a minute.
Oh, that's one.
Facefirst? We noticed that there were certain things on the calendar that were circled in red, which let us know that there were clues to let us know what the combination was.
Go 2-5-9.
I'm trying to crack the code, and it's hot.
I am sweating more than I have ever sweated in my entire life.
Okay.
6-4-8.
Yes! Bam! See, there? Yes, yes, yes.
Okay.
I would say get the flashlight.
What else, baby? Get the you got the map.
Oh, my God.
I dropped it.
I'm trying to help out.
Don't get mad at me.
Okay.
Let me hold the map, then.
Then hold the map and don't be mad at me.
Green team has completed stage 1.
I'm having fun when I win.
Yolo.
There you go! You're the man! I tossed the key up so I could use my hands.
Where'd my key piece go? Swear to God, the key piece just disappeared.
Oh, nope it's down there.
Where? Where? It went in the next manhole.
Here we go.
Pull.
Bend your knees.
You got the edge? Lift up your leg.
You're good.
Ha ha! I'm gonna go get it.
But you're gonna have to pull me up.
It fell down there? Yeah.
At that point in the game, I think that was pretty much where we just go.
Let's go, dad.
Okay.
Okay, wait.
Whew, I am filthy! You're good, man.
Blue team has completed stage 2.
Oh Oh I don't like you.
Okay, so, being first not always a good thing.
We got to do it all over again.
So, the blue team got captured after completing stage 2 and is being led back to detainment.
The green team is making their way to stage 2 while the red team is stuck in stage 1, trying to crack the combination to the safe.
"Stage 2 sewage pipes.
"Run up ramp and through sewage pipe.
Take cellphone.
" You got it? Yeah.
It said "take a cellphone" on there, didn't it? Come on! All right.
Here we go.
Come on, come on, come on.
Run! Run fast.
Shoot! You got to run.
February, may, September, or 3-9-7.
Not it.
Give me another one.
Grab my hand.
Grab my hand.
Okay.
All right.
Blue team has escaped detainment zone.
Ah, man! I look down in there, and it's like, "ugh!" Okay, look we're gonna come up, and you pass me.
Oh, man.
This is crazy.
We got to go through it, don't we? Yeah, we do.
Oh, found a cellphone! You found a cellphone? Thank you, lord.
Oh, my God.
Come on.
- Hold on.
- Okay.
Hold on.
All right.
Go up, baby.
Try to get out.
Where you at? I'm right here.
Where you at? Tash, I'm right here! Are you getting out? I can't get out! You just get out! Get out which way? Baby, the way you are.
It felt like I was in there suffocating in mud.
I'm really stuck in here.
Somebody help! Please help me! Can't nobody help us, baby.
You got to get out of there first.
Green team they look like they're really struggling with the hole.
And we're just like, "sucks.
" We just keep going.
Two is may 9th.
Wait, 59.
23-59.
February 3rd 23.
It had to be that.
23.
Okay.
Next one.
We finally got it.
Just the flashlight.
Just the flashlight.
We don't need the boots or anything? Well, hello? We need this.
Put it in the satchel.
Let's go.
Red team has completed stage 1.
Sorry.
Go.
You got it.
You got it.
You got it.
Run up it.
Give me your hand.
Oh I'm okay.
Come on.
You got this.
I'm out.
You got to give me your hand.
Aah! Okay.
Throw me the satchel.
- Thank God.
- Give me your hand.
All right.
Here I come, baby.
Okay.
Get over here.
Move, 'cause I need to get through there.
I can't.
Oh, God.
I think it's the salmon I ate for lunch.
I just see my mom kind of turn green.
Go! Just go.
We got to get through here.
Come on.
You got it? My pants are weighing me down.
It's wet and cold.
Okay, I'm coming.
You got it? Come on.
As the guard says, "red team, stop," I just want to cry.
Green and red team have been captured.
It was like a movie.
He turns and goes the other way, and we're like, "go!" This sucks, man.
I was like, "okay, I really don't want to do it, but I guess, you know, I can do it again.
" Red team here, green team here.
Having green team right next to us, it felt better that we weren't the only ones being detained.
So, listen to me.
You think we can take them? Come on, baby.
Now give me your hand.
Red team has escaped detainment zone.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
Aah! She just hits the ramp Mom? facefirst, and my heart drops.
All I want to do is lay there.
Here I come, baby.
Okay.
Come on.
Oh! Come on! There you go.
Look.
There we go.
When my mom makes it to the top of this ramp, I am so proud of her.
You got it.
You have it! You got it! I think I fell like maybe two or three times, but, you know, I was still gonna keep going.
Don't stop.
Thank you.
There you go.
Now I'ma go in.
You go take a breather, all right? Okay, mom.
You need to turn around, mom.
Oh, God.
I can't! I'm so afraid that as she was turning herself around, she was gonna get stuck.
You got it.
There you go.
Yoga seemed to be her savior.
I knew you could do this.
Look at you.
Green team has completed stage 2.
We can't let them get us.
Red team has completed stage 2.
Ooh! Pole up my ass.
He's going down that way.
We come to the loading dock, and now we're on we're outside.
We're on street level.
Check the map.
What building are we going to? City hall.
Go, go, go! Come on.
I can't run.
It's only a half a mile.
Let's go.
Get back.
Get back! Green team, stop! Red team, stop! He said, "green team," and I was like, "man, you know what? I'm not going back.
" If I got to go all the way back down there, I quit.
If I got to go all the way back down there, I quit.
I felt like if I kept going, I was gonna keep getting caught.
What do you want to do? I was super frustrated.
I just didn't want to go back in the sewer.
Red and green teams were captured while making their way through the tunnels, trying to reach the surface streets, while the blue teams has already made it above ground and is nearing the city hall landing at stage 3.
Go.
Quietly.
They're still shh, shh, shh.
Come back.
There's a guard behind us.
There's a guard in front of us.
Oh, God.
Okay.
Look.
I just dropped my bag down there.
The guards are coming, and I froze up, and I dropped the bag that had our key pieces in it.
So, we go back to detainment again! We're gonna do this one more time, and we're gonna give it our all, and we're gonna push it, because, you know, I know we can beat the red team by this time.
We can catch up to the blue team, and we can do this.
Come on, LA.
Come on, LA.
Come on.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
Red team has escaped detainment zone.
At this point, I'm kind of seeing the money just fly out the window.
It became more of a personal challenge to finish.
Got to watch for the guy when we get through.
Ready? You can do it.
Grab my hand.
There you go.
Come on.
There you go, baby girl.
All right.
This is my last time doing this.
Me too.
All right, baby, we got it.
All right.
I got it.
Got it? We can see city hall right there, but crap there's a guard on the street in between us and city hall, and behind us, there's a guard coming.
We were starting to freak out a little bit, 'cause we know if we get caught this late, someone's gonna pass us up.
Very bad.
Ooh.
Sorry.
Grab my hand.
I can't do it.
Mama, you can do it.
I know you can do this.
Think about it.
Look at how far we've come.
Where's our map? Now, we have to watch out for this guy, 'cause I am not crawling through this mud again.
Let's go.
Come on.
We have to figure out what was the next move.
How do we exit? Grab our bag.
Go, go! Go, jare, go! Go get it.
That's it.
I end up ducking underneath the stairs, roll over to the bag, grab it, roll back all trying to avoid two guards.
- Jared? - Yeah? When I say go, go that direction, toward those stairs.
Okay.
"Scrub brick tiles on landing.
" Here he comes.
Get in there.
Get in there now.
Get in there now.
Okay.
We have to get up those stairs, and he comes down here.
But how far down does he go? Not far only to about that first light post.
The guard is coming around the corner.
We jump into some lockers and hide.
Don't get caught.
Now.
And as we're coming out, I'm thinking, "we can do this.
" This is stage 3, the steps of city hall, and it'll be the first time our teams will be above ground.
Using the mops and buckets they find here on this landing, teams will have to start scrubbing until they uncover a phone number.
Then they'll have to find a mat cutter and a third piece of the great escape key.
Okay.
Flashlight.
I just whacked my knee.
Flashlight.
I really whacked my knee.
Sorry.
Okay? It's not much.
Stay right here.
I remember it said "wash the tiles to get a number.
" Here, hold this.
We were here.
We got to get out of here somehow.
Is there guards here still? Let's go hide.
Come on.
Hide behind this trash can.
Do you see his light? No, let's go! I need to know where we're going.
Look for a number.
I don't know where we're going.
Look, there's an arrow.
Let's go.
You know, I spent a summer doing this.
Come on, mom.
It's cooler! I know.
It said, "take a mat cutter from the cleaning supplies.
" There's no mat cutter in there.
There is in there.
I need the number, though.
Come on.
Look, we made it out.
Come on.
We got to go to the steps.
Wait, watch for guards.
Shh! Look around.
No, baby.
No, come on.
I don't even know if we were actually focused on the map.
We were just trying to get out.
This is why I had children.
You're supposed to do this.
Do you know what the landing is? Up here, I hope.
"Scrub bricks on landing.
" Guard, guard, guard.
Where? Get over here.
I mean, I feel like I'm by myself.
This is so ridiculous.
This can't be.
Jared, could this possibly be it? Let's go.
Go now.
I want to say something brilliant right now and go, "oh.
" "Oh, duh!" "Scrub brick tiles on landing.
" On the landing.
These are brick tiles on the landing.
Do you agree these are brick tiles? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It just says "stage 3 city hall steps.
" Okay.
That's got to be city hall.
It shouldn't be taking this long.
We're missing something.
Totally.
We're frustrated.
The edge that we have is going to quickly vanish.
We must have washed those bricks 20 times.
We can't get caught again, sweetie.
Let's go around this way.
We're walking around in circles.
There's no number on the tiles.
I feel like a doofus.
And time is tick-tick-ticking away.
Red team has made their way out of stage 2 and is catching up to the blue team, who's been stuck, mop in hand, in stage 3, struggling to uncover the hidden phone number, while the green team remains in the underground levels of downtown Los Angeles, desperately trying to find their way out.
So, all the brick is here.
Right.
If we could just get out to the street, we'll be able to find city hall.
We were here.
I'm thinking it's down this way archives, court records.
You want to try down there? Come on, mama.
Downhill.
Right here, right here, right here! Oh, yeah.
I don't know what it is that caused me to scrub a particular brick.
Can you remember that? 3-0-8-6? 3-0-8-6.
3-0-8-6.
Here, do you want to put it in the phone right now? Come on.
We're right here! You're in charge of the phone.
I hope everyone else struggles as much as we did.
Just think massages in Hawaii.
We see it, and we are just booking it.
City hall.
You were so right, mom! Come on! Red team, stop! Oh! Drop what you're carrying.
God dang it! Take your map.
When the guard says, "red team, stop," my heart drops.
I didn't see him.
I was looking for him.
And the guard catches us again.
All right, really? Really? The red team has been captured.
Shoot, man! I'm getting tired! Yeah, come on! Dial it.
Blue team has completed stage 3.
Wait, dad.
Look for guards.
Look for guards.
Look for guards.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
In stage 4, teams will be led here the rotunda at city hall.
Using the cellphone teams retrieved in stage 2, they'll dial the phone number they just uncovered on the steps and slice open the portrait that is ringing, because hidden inside that portrait is a key to a Volvo s-60 and the fourth and final piece of the great escape key.
City hall.
Cleaning supplies.
I'm not feeling like we're gonna win this one.
"number, take a cutter from the cleaning supplies.
" Take a cutter.
Help me, baby.
It just didn't seem like we were gonna be able to conquer.
Well, these are cleaning supplies, but I was angry.
We had come so close to stage 3.
It was really hard, being back.
It's a lot harder than I know we expected this to be, but we can do it, okay? Okay.
Go.
Red team has escaped detainment zone.
What are we doing, baby? I'm letting you check.
There's these huge portraits everywhere on easels, just covering the room.
So, I'm thinking, "that's kind of weird.
" So, I hit "send" real quick on the phone.
I'm listening to it, and there's nothing on the other end except ringing, and all of a sudden, in the room, we hear ringing.
Wait a sec.
I'll resend it, too.
Okay, well, let's go to wherever that is.
The sound is echoing all over the place.
We didn't know where exactly it was coming from.
So, we're searching around, and it stops.
Like, crap.
This doesn't seem like this would be the right way to go.
You might be on to something.
Okay.
We make it out to the street, right? We made it out.
Whoo-hoo! You might be on to something, baby.
Read what street city hall's steps is on.
We made it out.
We're home free, okay? Spring And main.
Okay.
Let's see what this is.
That's what we thought.
Shh, shh, shh! I just jumped into bushes 'cause I wasn't getting caught, 'cause I wasn't going back to the sludge.
Right.
I just wasn't gonna do it.
Same number? Yeah.
3-0-8-6.
I know you're trying your best.
I can't ask for anything more than that.
I honestly am trying.
I know.
I'm really trying.
Is there anything I can do for you right now? You know what? It's not game over yet.
I got it.
Is he coming? Nope.
Go.
Game is still in play.
Go.
Do it.
Come on.
You can do this.
Baby.
Baby.
The times is down this way.
What's this street? Which way you want to go? I don't know.
I'm thinking, "let's run across the street.
" L.
A.
times.
L.
A.
times on the map? Look.
The times is right there.
Is it on the map? Here's L.
A.
times.
Okay, so we know it's that way.
Okay.
So, if L.
A.
times is that way, city hall Is there.
It's over there? Yeah, probably.
I don't see the flashing blue lights or anything like that.
Green team! Stop! He calls, "green team!" It's like, "oh, hell, no.
" It's time to go home.
Leave your bag here.
Yes, sir.
Going back to detainment.
He's like, "green team, you're going to detainment.
" I was like, "no, we're not.
We're going home.
" You don't even have to take us that far.
We're done.
All right.
We're done.
We're gonna go home.
We're gonna quit.
With the green team now out of the game, that means the red and blue teams have a 50/50 shot at winning $100,000.
The blue team continues to search for the fourth and final piece of the great escape key, but red team is not far behind.
They're making good time to get back to city hall.
You're gonna quit? Yes.
It was kind of like the hamster on the wheel.
You know, you keep going, and it feels like you're going nowhere.
And I'm like, "I'm not gonna do that.
" Green team has quit the game.
We're so close.
It's dialing.
We hear it again.
I put my ear up to one of the canvases, and it's coming from one of the portraits.
Hold the bag.
We busted thorough stage 2.
We booked it.
We knew exactly where we were headed.
He's coming.
He's behind us.
Let's go.
My dad's cutting it up.
He reaches inside and pulls out the next part of the key.
Jare, jare.
What? I got it.
I got it.
Okay.
Out the front door.
Come on.
We have in our hands all the key pieces.
All we got to do is get to the transport zone.
"On spring street, press your key to find the hole.
" Blue team has completed stage 4.
So, when we get there, our bag is on the right.
We need to scrub a tile.
There's gonna be a number on that tile.
Jare, where do you want to go? The car's outside.
The guard is outside.
We've got to get to the car.
Let's just relax.
The car's gonna be on spring street.
This is the transport zone.
Once teams have correctly assembled the great escape key, it will reveal my location.
Using the car key that they got from across the street, they'll unlock one of these Volvo s-60s, hop in, and drive to me.
But to get there, they'll first have to find a secret entrance to the final building and climb 14 stories to the rooftop, where I'll be waiting with $100,000.
This would be a bad place to get caught.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Do you want to cross here, or do you want to cross there? No.
So, we book it towards the cars.
No guards we're in the clear.
Get in the car, and we're off.
All right, buddy.
Now, look.
Look at the map.
We knew where city hall was.
We knew how to get there.
We knew how to get around the guards.
Grab the bag.
It's back there.
Second street.
Which way on second street? Uh Turn left.
Left on second street.
We have to go there's helipads marked three places.
Okay.
Look for that.
I'm gonna try to put together this puzzle.
All right.
Where's the stupid hidden door? For crying out loud, it's like that crazy scrub that stupid thing! Let's scrub the tiles.
There's cleaning supplies here.
I like this car, man! Pretty fast, huh? There's also another tool in here.
It's right here.
It's right here.
Caltrans.
Caltrans.
Okay, get me to the caltrans helipad.
You have the map.
We got to make a left on first.
Okay, this is first.
Know what I'm thinking of as I'm turning left? Winning? We're gonna win 100,000 bucks.
Duck, duck, duck.
There it is.
Park, park, park, park! Do it! Go! Now we got to find the hidden door.
Let's go.
Do you have the key? Yeah, I got the key.
It says, "hidden door," though.
Scrub harder.
It's right there.
Try up here? 555-434 Look, there's stairs there.
This is the caltrans building? Yeah.
The hidden door.
Find the hidden door.
Crap! We can't find the hidden door 'cause, you know, it's hidden.
City hall, main lobby.
Right there.
Watch for the cop.
All right.
"Canvas.
" I don't know where the freaking canvas are these canvas? Yes! I want to know which one to cut! Let's try along this wall down here where those it says, "dial number and listen to find next clue.
" Dial it again.
Okay, okay, okay.
Do you remember the number? Hit re-dial! There's a door here.
There we go! Yeah, baby! Whoo! Shh! Guards! Whoo! I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it! Okay.
Okay! Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh I am so excited at this point because we have a chance.
There he is.
Get right here.
Stiff! Stiff! I think my knee's gonna explode.
We only have six more flights to go.
Oh, yeah.
Helipad.
That's a good sign.
Go, go, go! We better actually win so I can buy some new lungs.
Okay.
Our key says, "Cal pad trans heli," and there's a caltrans helipad here.
"Drive yourself to second street and find hidden door.
" One more.
One more.
That building right there.
See those stairs? Oh, that's what we're going up.
There it is! There he is! Money, money, money! Jare! You give it to him.
I have something for you.
Well, hold on a minute.
I need to inspect your work.
Dwight, Jared, you fought, you fled, you found your way through the concrete jungle that is Los Angeles.
Oh, God.
I'm gonna throw up.
You won "the great escape" and $100,000.
It's all yours.
Oh, I love you.
Whoo! You the man! You're the man! What are you gonna do with the $100,000? Well, I'd really like to fix the roof on our house.
On your house? Yeah, yeah, we got to fix the roof.
And you know what? We're gonna have a party.
We've got a special ride home for you.
And the best part about it? No traffic.
Let's go.
Blue team has won.
Blue team has won.
I was so upset.
We were so close.
Just the fact that we pushed through dirt and mud and sweat and steam and guards really made me realize how strong we both are.
All I could do was just hug my mom and thank her for doing this with me.
Sorry I got sick.
It's all right, mom.
It happens.
It's all good.
I'm sorry.
No, baby.
It's not your fault.
I've been married to this woman for a long time.
I don't want her getting banged up.
We went through it, but I felt like I needed to stop.
After the third detainment, it just didn't seem like we were gonna be able to win this thing.
No regrets.
No regrets.
Ahh! $100,000.
It really is such an amazing feeling.
It's a very big deal.
And we're so happy, and we're just so proud of ourselves.
Like, "holy crap, we did it.
"
"
