Okay.
Wait.
I don't want to do this anymore.
I'm serious.
That's it.
We're done.
No, you should have taped off the whole road, so start from the corner, and you got to tell the camera guys to park over at the gas station.
- Yep.
- Okay? You look weary.
There's coffee in the van.
I told you not to bring them in.
One day after you interview them, he gets shot at close range? Somebody's getting nervous about Cora Tannetti.
Like a spider in your brain, that woman.
And the worst part is, you feed it.

You still have the DA's offer.
I'm not confessing to something I don't remember.
Look, the DA's not working with me without a confession, and unless we've got some significant new evidence, we can't reverse your plea and go to trial.
I think we got to be realistic and work with what we got.
I want to speak to Detective Ambrose.
You really think he has your best interests in mind? At least he's doing something.
Cora, I want to help you, but there's only so much I can do.
I don't know what his angle is, but I am trying to offer you real options.
[EXHALES.]
Look, if you need anything Something to read, somebody to talk to call.
We found a natural gas tank with a security camera right down the block from the victim's house.
Mason Tannetti? An air conditioning service man offs a guy because his wife dated him before they got married? It doesn't add up.
Maybe your math is better than mine.
July 3, 2012.
Cora goes out to meet JD Lambert, who she's seeing at the time, and she doesn't come home that night.
In fact, she isn't seen again until two months later, September 5th, when she shows up at the Riverside Wellness Clinic, and then working with a therapist in the medical unit.
She remembers meeting a young woman, Madeline Beecham, JD's ex-girlfriend, and now she's been missing for five years, and then Cora remembers some landmarks in the woods, which leads us to a body that's found near the Beverwyck Club, a club that has a history of sexual allegations and huge settlements.
But whatever happened to her there, it's kept secret by the Beverwyck lawyer, which is the same guy that repped JD Lambert, and now, shortly after, JD Lambert is dead.
That's the math on this.
All I heard was missing women, drug addicts, sexual allegation, and a private club.
Nothing about the one question that matters, which is why did Cora Tannetti kill Frankie Belmont? I don't know.
[INHALING DEEPLY.]
[SOFT CLASSICAL PIANO MUSIC.]
I wish I could just live in your body for one night.
Drive it all over town.
I wish you could too, though I, uh I don't think I would make it back in one piece.
But it would be a night to remember.
Do you even want to go to Florida anymore? Of course I do.
You never talk about it.
We're not saving any more money.
I've just been busy.
Yeah.
[EXHALES.]
With JD and his micro-penis.
It's not micro.
It's not like I would know.
Well, maybe I don't want to share every detail of my sex life.
So you have a sex life now? [EXHALES SOFTLY.]
My head's killing me.
I don't have to go if you don't want me to.
I can stay.
Yes.
[CHUCKLES.]
No.
God, I hate Schubert.
[TENSE ELECTRONIC MUSIC.]
[WOMAN SIGHS.]
You like that? You want it? Yeah.
Yeah.
Ohh.
Don't stop.
You have to ask for it.
Please.

[DOOR CLOSES.]

No.
I just went there to tell him to back off, and that's all.
Were you armed? Yes.
[RAIN FALLING.]
[UMBRELLA CLICKS OPEN.]
Harry, what are you doing? I'm fertilizing the dogwoods.
It's raining.
They needed it, and nobody was getting to it, so I'll be gone in five minutes.
You can't just show up whenever you want.
I planted these trees.
I'm not gonna let them die.
Then put 'em in your car and take them.
They're rooted already.
They can't be moved.
Well, then that's too bad.
You decided to do this now.
It's not their fault.
So I'm fertilizing them.
You need to leave.
Right now.
It's not fair.
You don't get to just decide.
