Wolf Watch (2014) s01e06 Episode Script
Riddled
1 [Cheers and applause.]
Hey, everyone, I am your host, Jill Wagner, and welcome to Wolf Watch.
Now, each week, we bring together cast members and celebrity fans who can't stop talking about Teen Wolf.
And I've got some very special guests tonight.
Please welcome the man who makes the wolves howl, Teen Wolf creator, Jeff Davis.
Oh, yeah, - Hey! - Big round of applause for him.
And with Valentine's Day coming up, who better to celebrate with than this adorable duo, Carly Aquilino from Girl Code and Chris Distefano from Guy Code? There you go.
Thank you so much for being here, guys.
- Thanks for having us.
- Thank you.
Okay, let's just get right into this last episode.
Jeff, what is the basis for let me see if I say it right - "Nujitsune"? - Nogitsune.
- Nogitsune.
- Yes.
Okay, what is the basis for this character? The nogitsune is translated literally as "field fox," and it is the dark kitsune.
So this is all straight out of Japanese mythology, and hopefully we do a good job of translating it to screen.
But it's our way of giving a new bad guy to Teen Wolf.
All right.
I want to know why he's all bandaged up.
- You'll find out.
- Oh! - Yeah.
- It's in an episode coming up.
It has to do with Japanese internment camps, actually, that were in California and around the U.
S.
During World War II.
He was scaring the crap out of me.
I have to be honest with you.
I'm gonna have nightmares about him tonight.
- Right.
- Because I just feel like at first, like, I was like, "who is this guy?" "You know, did he just get, like, his wisdom teeth pulled? Like, why is face all bandaged? No teeth.
He looks like his breath smells like death.
" [Laughter.]
Um, okay, so, um, Stiles has taken a dark turn.
I don't know if I like this or not.
But I want to know how long it's gonna last.
It's gonna last a little while.
With an actor like Dylan O'Brien, we knew he was funny in the first season.
We knew we had our comedic character, we had our comedic sidekick.
But when we saw just how good he was at drama, we knew we were gonna have to take him down a dark path.
Right.
It's he's good.
I like that, comedian's dark mind, being funny and being dark and, you know, mischievous from the same part of the brain, right, Carly? I'm a mischievous funny guy.
That's why you love me.
That's sure, yeah, if you want to go with that.
You're just like Stiles? Is that what you want I'm not the perfect package? I think that's what he wants me to say.
What I want to know is, can I be the new Stiles? Yeah.
When it gets to college years.
Really? College compliment.
Compliment, 'cause I'm, like, 46 years old, so [Laughter.]
All right, let's talk about Lydia for a minute.
She starts hearing all of these voices.
What's happening to her? Well, Lydia, as a banshee, the idea about it the idea behind it is that it's not necessarily about her scream.
It's about what she can hear.
So she hears the whispers and maybe the wailings of other banshees that are warning her that someone is gonna die.
Ooh, wait a minute.
There's other banshees.
Oh, yes, you'll meet them.
I just heard that.
Really? You'll meet another one this season.
Yo, banshees be crazy.
Banshees be crazy, yo.
Banshees be trippin' all day on Wolf Watch.
[Laughter.]
Okay, now it's time for a little Wolf Watch fun.
We're lucky enough to have three experts with us today.
Carly's an expert on Girl Code, Chris is an expert on Guy Code, and Jeff is an export on the ways of the wolf.
Ha ha! So I'm gonna give you three scenarios from Teen Wolf, and then you tell me if these characters broke pack code.
[Sinister music.]
All right, here we go.
Okay, Stiles stops Scott from making a move on Kira.
Would he be found guilty in pack court? Ah.
Yes, absolutely guilty in pack court.
You can't stop another man from, you know, want to just get some you know, some - Wolf nooky? - Some new wolf nooky, yeah.
I think yeah.
I don't think you should block it like that.
Come on.
How do you feel? - I would say it - It's a tricky one.
He's still within pack code, because Stiles is his trusted number two, his trusted lieutenant, and, um, she could be dangerous.
Right? I mean, if someone had been there to say to Derek, "maybe Jennifer, you might want to check her out, see if she's a good person or a monster with a hideously scarred face that will try to destroy you and everyone you love," somebody might have stopped a lot of terrible things.
I think Kate probably would have told Derek that, but she wasn't around.
Uh, what about Scott's dad trying to get Stiles' dad fired? Is that a violation of pack code, people? Yeah.
Why are you gonna ruin someone's job and life? If we're talking wolf packs, which are very familial, it's got to be a definite break in pack code, for me.
- Mm-hmm.
- Yeah.
But then again, I mean, we're talking about a town where people die left and right and there are a lot of unsolved crimes, like who knows what happened to Kate Argent? She broke the code.
And it is time for us to take a quick break.
But when we get back, we're gonna talk more about the episode we just saw, and Tyler Posey will poll his costars on their favorite episodes of Teen Wolf.
Don't go away.
We'll be right back.
[Upbeat electronic music.]
[Wolf howls and applause.]
[Upbeat electronic music.]
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm Jill Wagner, joined by Jeff Davis [Cheers and applause.]
Carly Aquilino [Applause.]
And Chris Distefano.
[Cheers and applause.]
Okay, before we talk a little bit more about the episode we just saw, there are all kinds of numbers hidden in every episode of Teen Wolf, and we keep track of them each week, and we call it our Wolf Stats.
Now, not a whole lot to add to the tally from this past episode, no fights or deaths and no hookups either.
Come on, guys, it's almost Valentine's Day.
What's going on? But we were lucky enough to see one shirtless scene - Aidan, of course.
- [Woman hollers.]
Okay, now let's dig a little deeper into that episode.
Jeff, I want to talk about Derek's line.
What did he say? He said, "in this town, there's always something more.
" I think that pretty much sums up Teen Wolf, right? Yes.
Yes, indeed.
I think we knew that once we introduced a walking lizard man into the show, people would either say we'd jumped the shark or we'd eaten the shark.
- Right.
- So we ate it.
Do you ever get told no? I mean, I know all of this comes from your brilliant mind.
Is there ever something that you put out there and they're like, "that's a little too crazy"? Not really, no.
And this season, I said, "I want demonic ninjas in Teen Wolf," and we have demonic ninjas in Teen Wolf.
I love that.
I love that.
Okay, so let's talk tattoos, because, like I said, I'm in love with your tattoos.
Thank you.
I got a number three.
Like, there's a number five in this episode.
Speaking of the backwards number five on the neck, what do we think that means? I have no idea.
To tell you the truth, I have a piece of psoriasis on my skin that looks like a backwards number five.
[Laughter.]
Okay, Jeff, you can tell us what the backward number five means.
- Sorry.
- It's not a five.
I would call it a kanji.
A kanji.
Now, what is a kanji? A kanji is a character in Japanese language.
can we just go to Tokyo with you? I mean, Japanese 101 here.
I just want to be in Japan right now with Jeff Let's just drink tea in Tokyo And backwards number fives.
Okay.
All right, Jeff, we start to see some thawing between Officer Stilinski and Agent McCall.
Is this going to be maybe a mending to their relationship, or are they gonna still be at it? Possibly.
We're looking at the potential impeachment of Sheriff Stilinski here.
So McCall is in town for numerous reasons.
One is that he wants a relationship with his son, but you'll see where this goes, and it's not gonna be great for a while.
- Right.
- I like that.
All right, now it's time to check in with our weekly correspondent, Tyler Posey.
And lucky us, because he decided to drop by tonight.
Tyler, come on out, buddy.
[Laughter and applause.]
- [Growling.]
- Wow.
Just joking, guys.
It's just me.
I liked it.
It's not actually a werewolf, yeah.
- This freaking guy.
- Hey, man.
Just a white T-shirt.
Lookin' good, man.
Thank you.
Mr.
Posey, thank you so much for stopping by.
Hey, thanks for having me, Jill.
What have you been up to this week? I interviewed a lot of people on set.
We did another edition of Posey's poll.
- Ooh.
- Nice.
You know? And that's p-o-l-l.
- Okay.
- Like a voting poll.
Like, not Posey's pole.
Exactly.
- It's very confusing.
- Yeah.
But as I was saying, I interviewed a bunch of people and asked them what their favorite Teen Wolf episode was.
Jeff, I want to know if you have one.
One of my favorite episodes is definitely "the overlooked" from last season, the hospital episode.
Mm-hmm.
I think it was some of the best acting, too, that we've seen on the show.
- That's awesome, man.
- Yeah.
Okay, yeah, very cool.
Okay, let's take a look at this week's Posey's poll.
[Upbeat rock music.]
Is this on? Dylan is naked on set.
[Laughs.]
Hey, bro.
What's up? What's up? Nothing much.
Chillin', jumpin' on set.
Do you have a favorite Teen Wolf episode? - The motel episode.
- Awesome.
- The motel episode.
- And why is that? That's weird, 'cause I think that's 'cause I wrote that one.
- And? - Oh, wait, and I directed it.
Look at that.
It was so scary.
I was literally scared.
I had to turn on all the lights.
And I think it's actually some of your best work.
My goodness.
[Laughs.]
I'm terrified to go to hotels or motels or anything 'cause I feel like people are gonna die.
Hide your kids, hide your wife, because Teen Wolf's coming to town.
Both: Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin.
Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin.
There's, like, a bunch of different ones for a bunch of different reasons.
Like, the pilot just 'cause it's, like, our first one.
I actually really like the flashback episode with little Derek and What's the girlfriend's name? Do you remember? My girlfriend's name was [Mumbling.]
Paige! Paige.
Paige.
- Good job.
- Paige.
That episode made me fall more in love with Derek Hale, your character.
- Oh.
- Absolutely.
Because, you know, he's this mad, angry, tortured soul, but you don't know why, and now you totally understand his why he's such a [Bleep.]
all the time? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
Ow! Thank you for watching Posey's poll.
I think that we learned a lot about the cast and crew, and I can't wait to use this information against them.
[Cheers and applause.]
Thank you, Tyler.
All right, we have to take another break, but still to come, we're playing America's new hit party game, wolf word.
And you'll get your first look at next week's episode of Teen Wolf, presented by AT&T.
More Wolf Watch is coming right up.
[Cheers and applause.]
[Upbeat electronic music.]
[Upbeat rock music.]
[Cheers and applause.]
Welcome back to Wolf Watch, I'm Jill Wagner, joined by Teen Wolf creator, Jeff Davis, plus lovebirds Carly Aquilino from Girl Code and Chris Distefano from Guy Code.
And it's time to play the game that's sweeping the nation, Wolf Word.
[Upbeat music.]
All right, now let's split into teams, Chris and Carly one one side, Jeff and I on the other.
And there are a bunch of Teen Wolf related words and phrases written on pieces of paper in that thing.
Okay.
We like to call it canister of doom.
- Yeah.
- [Laughs.]
One person will pick a word and give one-word clues until their teammate can guess what the word is.
Okay, the thing is, you can't say the word or anything that rhymes with the word.
[Laughter.]
All right.
The goal is to guess as many as possible before the mountain ash in this timer runs out.
Chris and Carly will go first, and then it's our turn.
Okay, guys, one, two, three, go.
Okay.
Um - Uh - Is that a word? - Flicking? - No! Lighter.
That's a lighter? [Buzzer sounds.]
Oh, my God! I go now.
I go now.
- I think is that a word? - Lighter.
- Okay.
Lighter.
- Team.
- Coach.
Yes.
[Bell dings.]
Huh? You see that? I'm coming for you.
[Laughter.]
- Pets.
- Dogs.
- Doctor.
- Veterinarian.
Okay.
[Bell dings.]
Oh.
They're on it now.
Look at them.
They're getting all cocky.
- I didn't see.
- I can't even [buzzer sounds.]
Pass.
It's just Come on, Chris.
Look at that.
My hands are fat.
I ate a lot of salt.
Michael.
Jackson.
Whoo! [Bell dings.]
Yay! Oh, my God! - And the time's up.
- Come on, hurry up! Come on, one more word! Okay.
[Cheers and applause.]
Okay, now it's our turn.
- Okay.
- What? Okay.
Okay.
Hold on.
I'm gonna do this simultaneously here.
Okay, ready? Go.
Light.
Bulb? Diffused.
Moonlight? - Skin.
- Glow? Yeah.
[Bell dings.]
[Cheers and applause.]
Argent.
Hunter.
[Bell dings.]
Got it.
[Cheers and applause.]
- Night.
- Day? - Sky.
- Moon? [Bell dings.]
Yes.
[Cheers and applause.]
Weak.
Strong.
Yes.
[Bell dings.]
- Ah! - Whoo! Oh, God.
Um - Skin? - No.
- Uh - Ah! Okay, that's time.
And guess what.
We won, Jeff Davis! Yeah! We won, and what I have for us, since we're the winners, these really cool "Wolf Watch Winner" mugs and T-shirts.
- Oh, yeah.
- Want it.
But you guys are not going home without anything.
You do have "Wolf Watch Loser" cups Thank you.
And T-shirts as well for the both of you.
- Very cute.
Thank you.
- Thank you.
There you go.
All right, it's time for us to take a quick break, but when we get back, we're gonna talk more about the episode we just saw.
Plus, we've got an exclusive sneak peek at next week's episode of Teen Wolf.
But guess what.
We've got a scene from that episode to show you right now.
[Upbeat electronic music.]
[Groaning.]
[Both grunting.]
What the hell are you doing? Uh, I missed you.
[Screams.]
Oh, my God.
Did you see how fast I was running? I felt it.
But we need to stop the others.
Why? Scott! Scott, stop.
Stop.
Stop.
Coach! Everyone stop! [Dramatic music.]
[Metal jingling.]
[Clapping.]
Congratulations, Stilinski.
You found a length of chain.
Can somebody now please tell me what the hell is going on? Hey, coach! Oh, crap.
[Groans.]
[Relaxed pop music.]
[Cheers and applause.]
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm here with Jeff Davis, Carly Aquilino, and Chris Distefano.
Now, everybody needs someone to love on Valentine's day, but some people just love the show Teen Wolf, and now it's time to honor one of them as our Alpha of the Week, and this week's Alpha is Joya.
Joya's from Texas and [cheers and applause.]
Yay.
And she's currently working on her PhD with a focus on film and Shakespeare, and she is here via video chat with us.
Welcome to Wolf Watch, Joya.
How are you? I'm fine.
How are you? I'm wonderful.
Joya, can you tell me why you're such a fan of Teen Wolf and Mr.
Jeff Davis, who is sitting right here on the couch, as you know? Sure.
Well, there is so much I love about Teen Wolf, but I think the biggest reason that I love Teen Wolf is because in spite of being called Teen Wolf, I think it's a show that's incredibly accessible and appealing to really any demographic.
- So yeah.
- Right, right.
Well, you know I have Jeff Davis here with me right now, so you can ask him anything you want.
- So go ahead.
- Okay.
- I'm not gonna stop you.
- [Laughs.]
I think that it's really great how interactive you are with your fans, and you always make your job seem like so much fun.
What would be your advice to a burgeoning screenwriter? I would say and I say this a lot to aspiring writers write the story that you would want to see as a fan.
You have to please yourself as a viewer and an audience first, and I have I'm the luckiest person in the world.
I come up with ideas, and I get to see them on-screen in very short time.
Literally, I'm writing pages, and they're shooting them in a day, especially when it gets to the end of the season.
But you have to please yourself.
Write the movie you would love to see.
There's no reason it would ever not sell.
I think you'll do very well.
- All right.
- That's great advice.
- Thanks.
- That's a great answer.
That was the best answer.
And speaking of fun jobs, you know, we have Carly and Chris here, two great comedians.
They have a fun job.
Do you have a question for them? I always do watch Girl Code and Guy Code, so I'm excited to get to talk to y'all.
I thought it would be great if you could just give some general relationship advice, since in Teen Wolf, there are a bunch of characters who are always in and out of relationships.
Be in the relationship that you really love.
Be in the relationship that you want to see on-screen.
He's taking Jeff's answers.
That was the best answer ever.
Be be in the relationship that you love and that you want to see [Laughter.]
Okay.
[Laughs.]
Well put.
Well put.
Very original.
Good job, Chris, you genius.
All right, Joya.
Bye.
We love you.
- Bye.
- Wave, bye-bye.
- Whoo-whoo.
- All right.
Congrats again to Joya, our Alpha of the Week.
And now something everybody can love, an exclusive preview of next week's episode of Teen Wolf.
Check it out.
Next on Teen Wolf Stiles really do this? Whatever's controlling him did it.
Whatever's inside of him.
Well, then how do we get whatever's inside of him the hell out of him? - I'm working on it.
- [Screaming.]
The nogitsune feeds off chaos [People shouting.]
Strife And pain.
Now give it to me.
[Applause.]
Ooh.
Jeff, that looks amazing, but is there anything you can give us, like, any little nugget of Anything? I can tease that we're not sure yet whether Stiles is really off the rails or not, and this next episode is probably one of our most action-packed episodes yet.
And that's all I'm gonna say.
Can we just see the whole thing now? - No.
- No, okay.
We have to wait until next Monday night at 10:00 right here on MTV, and after that, stay tuned for a "Back from the dead" episode of Wolf Watch, featuring some familiar faces who've been killed off of the show.
And I want to thank my guests, Jeff Davis Thank you.
Carly Aquilino [Cheers and applause.]
And Chris Distefano.
And believe it or not, there's more you can check out on the after-aftershow happening on mtv.
com and the MTV app right now.
I'm Jill Wagner, reminding you to watch your back, 'cause you never know what creatures are lurking out there in the dark.
[Upbeat techno music.]

Bye-bye.
