My name is Wilma the witch,
and I'm your teacher for the day.

Last night, I watched a movie
about a witch who cooks up
a bubbly magic potion
to turn kids into cats!
The movie witch looked just like Wilma!
I think Wilma is a real witch!
I don't think so, Rose.
And now, it's spooky snack time, kidlets.
But I'm not even hungry yet.
Oh , you will be.
Muffins-o-pumpkin,
frosting yummy,
give this Radish a hungry tummy!
- Whoa!

Wow. Now I'm hungry.
Jack-O'-Lantern muffins
for all my spooky students!

Wilma is a witch!
And she used a magic spell
to make me hungry.

pretending to be our real teacher

Bet she's gonna put a spell on us ♪

That's just what a real witch does! ♪

Let's go get ready for spooky story time
before Wilma turns you into bats!

Look at the little spots around its eyes.

Like tiny eyeglasses

Ms. Moreno!
These spots are the same shape
as Ms. Moreno's glasses!
Wilma the Witch
turned our teacher into a guinea pig!

It is Ms. Moreno!
That's how she wiggles.
I'm coming
We gotta turn this guinea pig
back into Ms. Moreno now!
How'd they break
the magic spell in the movie?
With a good potion to undo the bad one!
I'm gonna need a bunch of leaves,
five wiggly worms,
and a lot of jewels.
Okay.
We've got leaves from the tree,
pipe cleaners for wiggly worms,
and fruit snacks for jewels.
Now we stir up the potion
and say the most magical words we know!
Uh
Recess-a-roni!
And, um, pizza-paloozy!
Then strawberry ice cream,
baloney Fruit smoothie!
That's it!
Everybody now! For Ms. Moreno!

Ms. Moreno is still a guinea pig.

Stop that witch!
Oh, no! What's going on, class?

so we're keeping her safe!

a big misunderstanding here.
It's me, Ms. Moreno.
Let's all go to the rug and talk.

You all know that we dress up
in costumes for Halloween,
so why did you think I was a real witch?
Because your snack time
magic spell worked!
It made Radish hungry.
Ah! That wasn't magic.
Looking at yummy food
makes anyone hungry.
That's true!
I get hungry every time
I think about hot dogs!
Well, Berti saw you make
a potion in a cauldron.
And you were casting
some "pumpkin spice" magic spell!
Oh, she must have seen
my Halloween coffee mug.
Full of pumpkin spice coffee.
Oh, yeah.
That mug's a real show stopper!
But wait. If you're really our teacher,
who is that guinea pig?
Her name is Periwinkle.
She escaped from Mr. Kim's room.
Oh!
That was Mr. Kim at the door,
asking if we'd seen her.
The second graders will be so happy!
It really is you, Ms. Moreno!
I love that you have
such big imaginations.
But when your imagination
starts to go to a scary place,
just stop and think Is that real?
And ask a grown-up if you don't know.
Yeah, I let my imagination
get really big today
and ended up making a really
big mess in the classroom.
But maybe we can make this potion mess
disappear like magic!

today we're going to
decorate pumpkins!
And when we're done decorating,
we'll have a contest to pick
the pumpkin-iest pumpkin.
Then we'll add it to
the Pumpkin Picture Board!
Every year, the kindergarten class
picks the pumpkin-iest pumpkin.
We keep pictures of all the past winners
on the Pumpkin Picture Board.
That's my big sister's pumpkin.
She won when she was in kindergarten.

If my pumpkin wins, that'd be even better
than having my witch picture
up for Spooky Week!
I want my pumpkin to be spooky,
but also cute.
I want my pumpkin to look cool,
but also like it could invent things.
I'd love my pumpkin to win
and be on the Pumpkin Picture Board.
So how are you gonna decorate it?
Well, all the other winners
have triangle eyes
and three spooky teeth.
Maybe if I decorate my pumpkin
like the other winners, then boom!
I'll win, too.

your own squiggles and whiskers?

or it might not win the contest.

All I have to do is find
