I have good news.
Principal Gupta called.
The disciplinary committee
finished their investigation
into the cheating accusations,
and they didn't find any wrongdoing.
Finally, we can put
all of this behind us

So how's the Yale essay?

It's not really ready yet.
Bronwyn, the early action

Sweetheart, I understand
that you are upset about Nate.
And I am truly sorry
he didn't end up being
who you wanted him to be.
Mom, he didn't do it! I
mean, an anonymous tip?
And why would he keep the EpiPens?
Because EpiPens are expensive.
Maybe he needed the money.
And he was fleeing to
Mexico. Who does that?
Sweetheart, there isn't
anything you can do about it.
It's time to move forward.
Everything you have worked so hard for
is still within your reach
if you focus on getting back on track.
Hey.
That could start with

[PHONE DINGS]
Shit, I have to go.
Seriously, you're just gonna go?
What else do you want me to do?
Look, Hunter almost broke my arm today.
I got lucky, but this is
my whole fucking future.
You think I don't know what it's like
to put everything on the line?
I've been skipping
classes, missing exams.
I have a fucking personal
statement for Yale
to turn in, and I haven't even started.
Maybe you should get started then.
Look, we've tried
everything that we can.
I'm sorry, Bronwyn.
[SOFT MUSIC]

Didn't you say it before,
that Nate wouldn't want us
to throw away everything for him?
I'm sorry.

- All right.
- I'll hook you up Sunday, man.
- You good, man?
- Yeah, no worries.
Hey.
Hey.
You okay?

Really sorry we missed
the ice cream pop-up.
It's okay.
Jake, can we go home?
Does that mean you're done with
all this Scooby Doo stuff then?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm done
Come here.
Come here, come here.

- Dad, I'm sorry.
- You're too late.
Traffic's too bad. I already canceled.
You can't why'd you we
can reschedule though, right?
I'm sorry!
I just I was playing basketball
with some of the guys,
I lost track of time.
You were just playing basketball?
Yeah.
When are you gonna stop lying to me?
What?
Is this who you were
playing basketball with?
He tagged you in this photo.
That means all of your
followers can see it.
Recruiters, college teams,
the reporter you were
supposed to meet with.
Wait, Dad, is that why you canceled?
Just when this whole
Simon thing is starting
to die down, right, just
when we can finally talk
about baseball again,
you go on and pull this.
Dad, I'm sorry!
I didn't know that that would happen.
You are blowing it!
We are this close, Coop.
You gotta keep your head in the game.
That's if you still want it.
Of course I want it,
Dad, now more than ever.
But you know what?

I want to be myself, too.

Kiddo.
I'm not trying to
tell you not to be you.
I'm just I'm trying to
tell you how things work.
Tell your friend to take
the photo down, please.
Dad.
He's not my friend.
He's my boyfriend.
And I am not telling
him to take it down.
You want me to stop lying?
This is where I stop lying.
I want to play baseball.
And I want to be out while I do it.
I think I'm that good.
Nobody's that good.

All right.
Well, I guess we'll find out.

I finished my personal statement.
Do you guys want to hear?
Of course we do.
In 11th grade, I faced one
of the biggest challenges
I could imagine at
the time, AP chemistry.
No matter how hard I
worked, how much I studied,
I still found myself with a C.
For as long as I can remember,
I have defined myself
by my academic success.
If I wasn't a straight A student,
I didn't know who I was.
I was so desperate to
maintain my identity
as a perfect student that
I stole exam questions
from my Chemistry
teacher, and it worked.
I got an A.
So what did I learn from the experience?
How dangerous it is to
define yourself so rigidly.
There are more sides to me
than just being a good student.
I am brave. I am determined.
And I stand up for the
people I believe in,
like my good friend Nate
who is currently in jail
for a crime he didn't commit.
And I know admitting all
of this is not gonna get me
admitted into Yale,
but I've also learned
that there are more important things,
like getting Nate out of jail.
Bronwyn, I
Why did you write that?
Because it's the truth,
and because I can't focus
on writing anything else
while I know Nate is sitting in jail.
Maybe if we bailed him out?
So that's what this is about?
Okay, we only have to put
up 10% of the whole bail,
and I know there's way more than that
in my college fund please.
Bronwyn, we've already
talked about this.
There's still people out there
that think the four of
you were working together
So no. I'm sorry.
You have raised me to stand up
for what I believe in
and to never give up.
Those were qualities you admired
when what I wanted was to go to Yale.
And I'm telling you what
is most important for me
right now is helping Nate
because I love him
and because it's the right thing to do

["THE OFFICE" THEME PLAYING]
I am so happy you're here.
Cool if I play RDR for a bit?
Cool if I fall asleep while you play?
Only if you drool on me.
Oh, you missed it! Admit it.
I did, I did.
Should we get tickets to
that thing some other time?
You still want to go, right?
The ice cream thing.
Yeah, of course, of course.
Soon, soon.

I'm the luckiest guy in the world.

Step out.
Good evening. How we doing?
Amazing, I'm about to sign a deal
admitting to a crime I didn't commit.
So that means you don't
want to accept bail?
Sorry, what?
They didn't tell you?
Shit.
Not the reaction I was expecting.
But the deal's still
on the table regardless.
Do you want to sign it, or
do you want to fight this?
Fucking Rojas.
