[NEWSCASTER] And now,
a special report from Vincent Dardick
on the Reena Virk murder trial.
Four months ago,
on the night of November 14th,
it was under this bridge that the murder
of 14-year-old Reena Virk began.
A fight took place right
here in this very spot.
Six teenagers, now infamously known as
"The Shoreline Six",
swarmed Virk and beat her savagely,
leaving her bloody and bruised.
Earlier today,
the four teenagers who beat Virk
and then left the scene were found
guilty of aggravated assault,
each sentenced to one year in the
Youth Custody Center of Victoria,
a co-ed juvenile detention facility.
I think they deserved
their punishment, but
uh, they'll be free one day
with a second chance at life.
My daughter won't get that.
I'll never see her again. I
I pray that the families
of these children
help them understand that difference.
Look, we're very pleased with
the outcome, but make no mistake,
the other two culprits bear the
brunt of responsibility here.
[VINCENT DARDICK] Those
other two culprits,
who allegedly followed
Virk to finish the job,
Warren Glowatski and Kelly Ellard,
are each charged with
second-degree murder.
Glowatski is set to take the
stand this coming Monday.
Ellard's trial is to follow.
If rumor is all that's needed
to put young lives behind bars,
frankly, this country is doomed.

One woman is making

[NEWSCASTER] And now,
a special report from Vincent Dardick
on the Reena Virk murder trial.
Four months ago,
on the night of November 14th,
it was under this bridge that the murder
of 14-year-old Reena Virk began.
A fight took place right
here in this very spot.
Six teenagers, now infamously known as
"The Shoreline Six",
swarmed Virk and beat her savagely,
leaving her bloody and bruised.
Earlier today,
the four teenagers who beat Virk
and then left the scene were found
guilty of aggravated assault,
each sentenced to one year in the
Youth Custody Center of Victoria,
a co-ed juvenile detention facility.
I think they deserved
their punishment, but

with a second chance at life.
