[Danielle echoing] Hello!
Hello!
How you doing?
Nobody's in this house ♪
We got a fresh house!
[echoing] House.
Yo!
[chuckling] This is wild.
I know that our team is about
to have so much fun with this house.
But before we can even get started,
we have floor problems.
There's no flooring.
We gotta put in
2,000 square feet of flooring
before we can even get this crew in here.
-Let's do it.
-[dramatic music playing]
I'mma stop talking,
and I'mma go handle that right now.
Game time, baby. Let's go.
Hey, everybody.
Everybody, hey. Okay, this is what I need.
I need half of you all to

Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
[Danielle] Whoo! Here we go. Here we go.

Whoo! Here we go, baby!
-That's what I'm talking about.
-Guys, get everything out that you can.
I want this to be a space where they can
actually hang out and use this front yard.
'Cause it's a big space.
Soon as we're done with that,
we'll take the stairs out. We gotta move.
This is looking good. Let's go!
[upbeat music continues]
Hey, Danielle!
What's up?
Oh, my gosh! How crazy is this, right?
-I am so excited!
-[Danielle] This is bananas right now.
It smells like lumber.
That's a good sign.
Okay, how do you know Tami and Scott?
I've known Scott and Tami
for seven years now.
Um, they're just people that constantly
give of themselves freely and selflessly.
Specifically, have a heart
for the marginalized.
Those that live on the streets,
those that are completely without.
-Nice.
-This year alone,
they have given away 10,000 pounds
of food to the community.
There's nobody in Atlanta
that is more deserving than them.
My name's Scott,
and this is my amazing wife, Tami.
And this is our son right behind us.
He goes by Ezekiel.
So these are the blueprints for the house.
And there's been a lot
of different hands on these blueprints.
We had a vision.
This was gonna be our dream home.
We want it very modern and clean-looking.
[Scott] Kind of having
that urban-industrial kind of look.
[Tami] We hired a contractor who said
they could do it in four to six months.
[Scott] And four months
turned into a year.
But it was all these promises.
"It's gonna be done."
-"It's gonna be this, gonna be that."
-And then he disappeared.
It really does blow my mind
that four years ago,
they purchased this home,
ready to build this family,
and all of a sudden
[imitates brakes screeching]
the train tracks stopped.
You know the house
was completely naked, right?
-Nothing in there.
-Yeah.
-[Scott] This is the kitchen area.
-[Tami] Yes.
This is supposed to be an island.
[Scott] The yard,
because we're not living there,
we haven't really
been able to take care of it.
[Tami] It looks like people use it
as a trash dumping site.
[Scott] But I think this house has put
so much stress and so much weight on us.
-[Tami] Yeah.
-[Scott] Paying multiple houses.
Now it's the mortgage for this house,
and it's the rent for the other house.
It has been financially
just completely draining.
There are certain times
where it gets super tense
'cause you have to figure out every month
how you're gonna pay for it.
[Scott] Worst-case,
we won't be able to keep the house.
[Tami] And I'm losing hope.
They think that they're coming to
meet with a contractor tonight.
Of course, they were super hesitant,
but I told them,
"If you trust me,
then you can trust that this person
is the right contractor for you."
They're willing to come meet him tonight.
When they get here, plot twist,
you're the contractor
that they're gonna meet.
We're getting this done in one day, Megan.
-Yeah!
-One day.
So the biggest thing is,
you're my accomplice.
-When I call you, please pick up.
-I'm gonna pick up.
'Cause every minute
is crucial with this thing, okay?
-Yup.

We gotta get the stairs on
before we get the railing on.
[tools whirring]
[Erik] That's the stuff. Drop it.
We gotta double-time it.
Let's go.
The house is a 1950s ranch.
The problem with this house
is the fact that it's completely undone.
There's nothing inside.
But, Paige, I think you're 100% right.
There's a lot to do here
in terms of the size and the magnitude.
-[laughs] Yes.
-I'm just gonna say it.
It's more than a renovation.
It's a rescue.
[Adair] Totally.
So the highlight of this front
starts with color.
We're gonna have the white
across the front here.
-And this nice dark charcoal.
-[Paige] That's great. It looks wonderful.
[Nick] And then you have the plants
for the pop of color.
With some nice perennial flowers
in the front,
it's gonna look amazing.
But I still need something
in the hardscaping
to connect to the front.
I know flagstones take a while, right?
Because we have to cut the flagstones out.
I grew up
with my front walkway being flagstones.
And I just have
such a special affinity towards it.
It just gives it such a more natural look.
But when you're talking about flagstones,
you're talking about excavation,
laying down sand,
laying down stone dust,
laying down the pavers,
making sure everything is graded.
That's a lot to do on that day.
Yes. I'll play around with it.
[Erik] Let's jump into the house.
Adair, walk us through.
One thing to note is,
we know for sure that they love,
love, love the industrial aesthetic.
But I think for them,
we need to warm it up a bit.
-I'm adding farmhouse to that.
-Love it.
[Erik] Okay, excellent, excellent.
Can you walk us through
the main rooms on the interior?
[Adair] The very first thing
this house needs is floors.
Floors take forever.
And you can't do anything else in a house
until the floors are laid down.
-Okay?
-[Adair] Uh, yeah. This is not good.
So, all-new flooring,
all-new kitchen,
all-new kitchen cabinetry.
Okay.
[Adair] That is a stove
inset into the island.
And now, we have
a delineated space for the dining room.
And headed into the living room,
not only are we finishing the beams,
we're adding metal tile cladding
to the fireplace.
-Okay. There's a lot going on now.
-You can't tell me no.
You can't tell me no.
Back on up.
Okay, so
Remember, this was a hazard before.
There was nothing there.
Now we're putting up some metal railings
and some industrial-looking shelves.
-So, wood and steel.
-[Erik] That's nice.
We're gonna swing over
into the main bedroom.
Okay. So we're in the main bedroom.
What I'm proposing is we're gonna
drop some really beautiful furniture,
we're gonna accessorize,
and we're gonna get out of here.
I like the vibes.
I think that fits farmhouse nicely.
-[Adair] Totally. Thank you.
-[Erik] All right.
Let's head into Ezekiel's bedroom.
I feel like for Ezekiel's room,
we should do something
really, really special.
He's never had his own room,
so I'm sure
the first thing you'll notice is,
it's the only room in the house
that has color, which is very exciting.
Within his own closets,
we're going to do wallpaper.
Adair, don't kill me.
Um, but I think
that'd be really, really special
I agree.
to personalize his bedroom.
Wallpaper?
Yep.
That's a lot of time for a closet, man.
And so labor-intensive.
And of course we need to figure out
how to lay down flooring
in the entire house
before we do any of that.
So that's wonderful.
Super optimistic
we're gonna figure it out.
2,000 square feet worth.
