The Great Escape (2012) s01e08 Episode Script

Escape from the Swamp

Trapped in the swamps of the deep south, surrounded by deadly snakes, alligators, and insects, three teams will attempt to free themselves by navigating the bogs and waterways of the bayou to find me and win "the great escape.
" My name is Luke.
And I'm Tim.
Luke and I are both firemen.
We've known each other for 20 years.
We came from the same area, on the south side of Chicago.
We were taught the importance of teamwork.
Because of our training, because of our history, that is gonna be an advantage for us, I think.
I'm Paul.
My relationship to jenn -- she is my wife, and we've been married for about 2 1/2 years.
Best decision I ever made.
I chose Paul as my partner because I think we make a really good team.
Jenn's the brains.
I'm just here to break stuff.
My name's davee.
I'm Beth.
We've been dating for a year and a half, and it has been blissful ever since I met her.
Davee will bring the strength.
He's my rock, and we're willing to do anything it takes.
Guards, remove their blindfolds.
I've never seen this area before.
Really quite amazing.
And I knew that we were in for a challenge.
Welcome to the Louisiana bayou.
This area was believed to be forbidden lands for hundreds of years for good reason.
The swamp here is home to 18-foot alligators, deadly cottonmouth snakes, leeches, crawdads, mosquitoes, and just about every threatening creature you can imagine.
You will start in the detainment zone, boarded up inside a backwoods shack, where you'll have to free yourself and locate your escape-route map.
This map will guide you through the four stages, and after completing the four stages, your final hurdle is the transport zone.
and also find a piece of the "great escape" key.
Throughout your escape, you may encounter patrolling guards.
If you are caught, you must drop everything but your map, and you will be taken back to the detainment zone.
The guards will be patrolling on three designated routes in timed rotations, so if you're smart, you can plan your escape timing accordingly.
After completing all four stages in order, you will make it to the transport zone.
You'll have to accurately assemble the "great escape" key to reveal my whereabouts.
The first team to hand me the accurately assembled "great escape" key will unlock the box and instantly become $100,000 richer.
Remember, this escape-route map is your guide.
Do not leave this in the swamp somewhere.
Guards, lock 'em up.
We just bought a house, and it needs a lot of updating.
There's a lot of projects we could use the money for.
My entire life, my mother has had a job and taken care of my sister and I.
I want to help her.
I'm playing to make our lives better.
When we win, I plan on taking my family to Croatia.
I'm gonna take pictures of my 7-month-old in the same spot where my grandfather was when he was 7 months old.
I have three sons, and, you know, we've been looking for a house.
The money would help a great deal.
When the shrimp-boat horn sounds, the escape is on.
I'm the most claustrophobic, uptight person you can possibly imagine.
Being blindfolded is a really, really awful feeling.
Love you, baby.
Let's do this.
Go! There's a target right there.
How do you open this thing? I pull off the blindfold.
We're in a shack, shackled together.
I see all these things on the floor.
I know we have to look for a map.
Look for a way out while I'm looking.
I think we're gonna go down the floorboards, honey, is what I think we're gonna do.
I'll take this satchel from here.
Okay, we have a way out, baby.
Oh! Why don't we use this to step up? This is gonna do it for us.
Target right there.
The shack -- find map, break out of shack, follow old trappers path.
Okay, we got to break out.
We got our escape from here.
All we need is the map.
I'm frustrated because I feel like we've been in there forever, and I'm like, "oh, great.
What are we doing here?" You're kidding me right now.
Check the satchel 100%.
It's not gonna be that easy, I'm sure.
I'm thinking this map's got to be here somewhere, so we just started destroying everything.
Satchel's empty.
There was nothing on that wall, right, when you kicked it? Okay, are you serious? There was nothing there? Yes, I'm sure.
Oh, geez.
Look at this, Luke.
Got it.
Follow me.
Follow me.
Okay, okay.
Red team has escaped detainment zone.
- Where are we? - Okay.
We're here.
Stage 1 -- abandoned cooking site.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
Let's just double-check, make sure we're going the right way.
I don't remember them ever saying it could be outside.
I don't think they would put it down here.
Okay.
Well, then, let's go back and look inside, honey.
I see some shacks back here.
Okay.
Hey.
Middle, middle, middle, middle, middle.
Watch out for guards.
Watch out.
Okay.
So, we get out of detainment.
We're crouched down, and I'm looking for the guards.
Oh [Bleep.]
guard, guard, guard.
Come here.
Yeah, get down.
And as soon as we see one, we just dove.
[Bleep.]
He's coming.
He's coming, he's coming.
He saw us? I don't know.
Okay, he's going left.
He comes down, and then he goes left.
You got to keep an eye out.
Hang on.
Hang on.
I want to see how far he goes.
Green team, stop! [Bleep.]
The green team has been captured.
Yes! We have a little bit of time.
No, I don't think we have to kick anything out.
The blue team is stuck looking for their map in the detainment zone, while the green team has been captured and must return to their shack.
Meanwhile, the red team is evading the guards' rotations on their way to stage 1.
Okay.
When we saw that first guard, I just thought, "okay, we got to get down and see which way he's going.
" Aah! [Bleep.]
So I'm going back, and I'm looking in places I've already looked three and four times.
I mean, it's a piece of paper.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Oh, my God! It was right there.
Let's look at the map first here, I think, if we don't get caught.
Blue team has escaped detainment zone.
I didn't know they were gonna be right there, right off the bat.
It was a learning experience.
Let's look at the map and let's see where we have to go and let's be really [Bleep.]
careful.
Trappers path? That's not -- what are we looking for? When we look at a map, we see where we are and figure out where we have to go.
Blue team, stop! [Bleep.]
We get caught by the guard, which is an awful feeling.
Let's go.
Back to detainment.
The blue team has been captured.
Let's go through right here.
There's a guard out front.
Let's go out back.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
Ah.
I'm scared.
I'm frustrated.
Ow.
It was way worse than the first time we were in the detainment zone.
My hands were tied with ropes, which we have to get our way out of and maneuver of those, and we still have to figure out how to get out of the shackles.
You need help? Okay, baby.
Carry the balls.
I have the map.
Let's look in here.
Let's look in here.
Wait.
Get -- ow! [Bleep.]
We're heading to stage 1, and I see a camp set up.
And there are guards kind of patrolling that area, so I immediately try to find a place that we can duck for cover.
Wait.
Here.
There's a guard! There's a guard! Teams will fight their way through the dense swamp to get to stage 1, an abandoned cooking site.
Here, teams will encounter three oversized caldrons and find various tools to finally help them break free of the ball and chain they've been carrying around.
But getting free is only half the battle.
You see, there are still some live things crawling around the site.
Teams must wade through these bubbling caldrons filled with live crawdads to find a slingshot and the first piece of the "great escape" key.
Here it is.
See what it is.
Where's the map? Do you have it? No! [Bleep.]
You should have it in your bag.
I don't know where my bag is.
Trappers path.
Okay.
That's where we're going, right? Yeah.
Shh, shh, shh.
I just saw something.
We see the guard, so we actually try to crouch down.
Blue team, stop! It's devastating.
I felt like I let Beth down by getting us caught.
[Bleep.]
That's all we can do, baby.
Let's go -- back to detainment.
Jenn.
You found some tools? Wait.
You got to come back here so I would kind of be the lookout, because I don't know how to handle tools to get these things off.
We should really take advantage if there's no guard here.
Okay.
You're bleeding.
I'll be fine.
The red team had gotten there right before us.
Okay.
I can move my hand now.
Yes! Just keep looking, just keep a lookout.
You're free.
Go.
I'll read the map.
I'll work on this.
We had a great strategy.
I took his shackle off, and he started working on finding a piece of the key and the slingshot, and then I just worked on my shackle.
I go to get into the cauldron, and the thing is filled to the brim with crawfish.
Aah! It bit.
Aah! Anything can happen.
We got caught twice.
They could get caught twice.
We're back in front.
I'm not! Just a little frustration.
I'm thinking, "there's probably a better way to do this," so I start feeling around with my foot, kick something.
Boom.
I think I got it.
It was a little, yellow sack.
It had the first piece of the puzzle and a slingshot.
You're out, you're out, you're out, you're out, you're out.
Okay, where's the map, where's the map? It's right here.
I took all the wrenches that I could find, and I stuffed them in my pocket.
Take them.
That was one of my strategies was to leave as little for the following teams as possible.
Green team has completed stage 1.
Okay, shh! Let's keep this [Bleep.]
we might need them again.
You know what? Okay.
We know where tresspassers' lane is.
I'm trying, baby, as hard as I can.
No, it's not about that.
Hang on.
Just keep a lookout.
Okay.
I'll tell you when to drop.
Stage 2, I'd say this branch out.
We just got shredded by these crawfish.
Ow! [Bleep.]
[Bleep.]
Okay.
Down, down, down.
Finally get my hand on a bag, and inside, there's the key piece and a slingshot.
So, we got what we needed from the first stage, and we're ready to go.
We got to go back out this path.
Okay.
Red team has completed stage 1.
Blue team has escaped detainment zone.
Okay, what are we looking for? Voodoo cans.
It's got to be next to the signs.
Okay.
I have no idea where we're going.
I'm just following Paul.
Do you see him? Baby.
Watch him.
You don't think it's down this way? Shh.
What's that? Fine.
Let's go.
I don't know.
Let's go behind this tree.
He's right there.
He's right there.
Down, Luke! Come on.
Come on.
Do you see him? I do.
We should run when his back is to us.
After completing stage 1, red team is lost and starting to panic, while the green team is slowly making their way to stage 2, and the blue team, fresh out of detainment for the third time, is trying to avoid being caught on their way to stage 1.
Then we went this way, and we needed to go -- keep going that way? Yeah.
Okay, so let's just go that way now.
Patience.
We are trying our best to avoid the guards, but the stumps, the mud, and this ball and chain is not light, and davee's trying to carry it.
Let's go this way.
Hang on, baby.
All right.
Come on.
Ceremonial cypress grove, three grove of trees.
I think we got a ways to go, buddy.
Says to "climb into.
" You think literally climb in, babe? No, not yet.
Ow.
These little [Bleep.]
Our first goal is we want to get this ball and chain off, so we need to find the correct tools to get it off.
Just look everywhere.
All right.
Everywhere, everywhere.
You think it's this way? There's the green team up there.
Okay, nice and easy.
It looks like red team's behind us.
Go, go.
Here's one of these.
That'll work.
Here.
I'll start looking for something else, too, for myself.
What do you want to keep searching for, honey? Anything that'll open this.
Dude, don't follow them too closely, 'cause if they get caught, I don't want to get caught with them.
There's got to be a guard close, bro.
Checking the map.
Red team came up behind us, and I think they were kind of almost using us to scout out where the guards were.
We want to go right.
Let's go right, buddy.
Let's go to this tree here.
Jenn, you look behind me.
If you see guards, you let me know.
Jenn, read the map.
Does it say ammo cans? It says, "use slingshot at ammo cans to knock down three voodoo dolls.
" In stage 2, teams will reach this ceremonial cypress grove.
Sounds peaceful, right? Not so much.
While avoiding patrolling guards and bloodhounds, teams will have to use their slingshots to knock down three voodoo dolls from a tree filled with voodoo artifacts and then rip open the dolls to find paper, a candle, and the second piece of the "great escape" key.
Oh, come on! God! I've hit it twice.
Three voodoo dolls.
See them hanging? What do you think I should aim for? I think aim for the dolls.
Why would they have this stuff here? What about shooting multiple weights? I got it.
Hold on.
Okay, I'm just looking around.
They took the tools with them that they used.
God.
It's so bad for us, knowing the other two teams probably had everything they needed.
They probably could have built a pair of shackles with the tools they had, and, you know, we're working with a file and a crescent wrench.
I'll try and hold that like that.
I'll hold it.
That's gonna go over like a pregnant pole vaulter, but -- 'cause I think it's gonna turn.
Yeah.
This is frustrating! Let's use what we got around.
Timmy, these things light on fire.
Ah! We got to light these on fire, Tim.
For what? We light it on fire, then we catch the voodoo dolls on fire.
Tim File or anything, honey? I get it now.
Got one.
Awesome.
Jiminy crickets.
Geez.
I can't even see.
My eyes.
I got crawfish poop and You're okay.
Is that the third one? No.
Try that one in the middle, between the two.
Good call.
Yes! Grab the dolls.
I'll keep a lookout.
Inside the dolls, there's papers.
Rip apart the dolls? Yes.
The candle.
Got it.
There were no papers in any of the dolls? No.
I'm looking in one right now.
Okay.
Take that.
What does it say? I don't know.
This is it.
I don't think it's aim.
Trying to control a slingshot -- I don't know this weapon very well.
Stay down.
Red team has completed stage 2.
All right.
We need one more.
I'll keep lookout.
What's up there? Cemetery? Yeah.
There you go.
One.
Calm, cool, and collected.
Use your skill.
Don't let anything fluster you, 'cause that doesn't do any good.
Nice.
One more.
I'm on the money, baby.
The red team leaving just before us, you felt like as long as in between challenges we're that close to each other, we're gonna have no problems 'cause we're gonna make it up on the challenges.
Oh, yeah! Okay, buddy.
On my way right behind you.
They can get detained.
Do you see anybody? Look behind you.
Okay.
See, that's just -- okay.
We'll be here for three days.
I can escape from Alcatraz before we get through this thing.
Did you see a candle anywhere? I see candlesticks.
Look anywhere.
We need the other puzzle piece, too.
You found it? Got it.
Oh, this is just frustrating.
Remember slow and steady, babe.
"Slow and steady"? They're gonna be, like, having dinner, and we're still gonna be sitting here with crawfish.
Well, that would be dinner, then.
Need papers and candle.
So, two papers and a candle.
All right, all right.
Back down.
Green team has completed stage 2.
God, God! What is going on? Why am I so weak right now? Davee, honey -- don't call me "honey" right now.
There's a guard back up there.
You see him, way across the cemetery? Got to wipe my eyes.
Stay down.
He's right back up there.
If I don't get it here, I'm seriously hacking your foot off.
Come here, come here.
No, no, no, no.
Oh! Down, down.
And go.
It's not doing anything.
Oh [Bleep.]
get down, get down.
[Bleep.]
I'm about to hack your leg off.
Win a hundred grand, buy you a new foot.
This is just absolutely nuts! Let's just hack your ankle off.
I'm about to hack your leg off.
Win a hundred grand, buy you a new foot.
This is just absolutely nuts! Let's just hack your ankle off.
At this point, I feel like I've been doing it for 30 minutes.
I mean, my hands are swollen.
My hands are sore.
Yep.
You're the strongest person I know.
I knew it, babe.
Just stopped when you said that.
The blue team is still in stage 1, trying to remove their shackles, while the red and green teams are neck and neck, making their way to the cemetery and stage 3.
Almost there, almost there.
When you're looking left, you got to tell me when to go down.
Let's try one last time.
I'm gonna go.
I have like -- down to the bone on my -- you're okay, you're okay.
I know I'm okay.
I know.
Let's just work on this as a team right now, not as, like, pampering each other.
Just -- we're gonna get it right here.
I'm trying my best at this point right now to help him with the bolt, and I don't know what to do to help him right now.
There's another toolbox over there that we haven't looked at, davee.
No! Outside by the anvil.
We've already looked in that one.
Well, this is just awesome.
Everything we needed -- it was all right there.
How did we not see that when we walked up? I don't know.
Davee, let me get over to this pot to start looking for that piece.
All right, what do we need to find? We need a piece, baby, of the key And then we need a slingshot.
You did it! You're funny.
You are amazing, baby! Saying cemetery's that way.
Here's a piece of paper.
"Find three headstones.
" Yeah.
We're good.
Just relax.
"Position paper on each headstone at four corner marks and rub candle over paper.
" This is stage 3.
As if alligators and poisonous snakes are not creepy enough, teams will find themselves in the middle of an old-country cemetery just below the levees.
Here, we've broken a very important number up over three graves.
Using their candle and paper, teams will rub the headstones to reveal a year to indicate which grave they should dig up.
There's no body in there, just a tackle box including fishing line, a hook, and the third of the "great escape" key.
Four corner marks.
What's a corner mark? These are corner marks, and these are corner marks.
There were three different sets of grave sites, and each team had to pick one.
Smooth and easy.
Go! We picked the one in the center.
"On each headstone, at four corner marks, you rub the candle on the paper.
" Green team, stop! Turned out, it was right in the line of sight of a guard.
Don't worry about it.
The green team has been captured.
It's got to be in there, babe.
Dude, these guys bite the crap out of me.
I know.
My hand is all bloody.
Let's go.
I think we can catch up.
See if there's anything in here.
I feel really bad hurting them.
"Position each at four corner marks and rub candle over paper.
" Oh! Give me the candle.
Yeah, yeah.
You got it.
Disgusting and gross.
$100,000 gross, baby.
We can catch up.
We can do this.
Holy crap.
Snap, crackle -- what is this? It's the piece.
Just open it.
What do you got? We got a slingshot and a piece of the puzzle, baby.
Can't get them out.
Blue team has completed stage 1.
I don't know what that said.
"C-t.
" If we put all these together, it'll tell us something.
[Bleep.]
Something's biting me.
You got to go.
You got to do this.
I don't know what to do.
Cypress grove.
Baby, oh, my God.
Hang on.
Whatever -- right here.
Cypress grove.
All right, where do we it from? Where does it say to do it from? It doesn't say! Read the map.
"Use slingshot at ammo cans.
" Here are potatoes.
Where are the ammo cans? I knew we should have brought those potatoes! Come on, let's go.
Shoot.
I don't know what they look like.
Ammo cans.
Oh, here's ammo cans.
Huh? Go, go, go, go, go, go.
Just gonna continue, take these bumps in stride.
The other teams could be having the same problems.
Green team has escaped detainment zone.
We still have a shot of winning this.
Do you know how to shoot these things? Those are the voodoo dolls? Those are the only three things that look like voodoo dolls to me.
Oh, darn it! Were there sharpshooters on those other teams? "Dig under the headstone with the matching date.
" So it's a date.
Okay.
So there's a four.
I got it.
Yeah.
Five.
That one.
I'm looking for guards.
You keep digging.
Oh, my God.
Good job! Oh! [Bleep.]
So deep in there.
Come on.
Get over here.
I had mentally transposed the three pieces, and I could visually see that it said 1854, so I started digging using the wrenches I took from stage 1.
I got it, Timmy.
Got to get the key.
Is there anything else? Here.
They're off, baby.
What do we do? Rip them open, rip them open, rip them open.
Rip them open? Uh-huh.
What are we looking for? I'm sure the piece.
Here's a candle.
Here's the other piece! Blue team has completed stage 2.
Red team has completed stage 3.
Timmy, where did those hooks go that I had? "Find three family headstones, state country cemetery.
" So follow this arrow.
Stay low.
Okay, there you go.
Green team has completed stage 3.
We got to stay low.
These guards are everywhere, dude.
Just keep looking for the guards.
Okay, we're here.
There's a guard! Are you kidding me right now? This guy's just Hawking.
We're leaving stage 3, and it looks just like an open field.
This part was, terrain-wise, the worst.
Where the heck is the fishing hole? Look.
He's looking right there.
He's coming back.
He's coming back.
There's a guard on the boat? Go.
Come on, come on, come on.
Come on.
Go to the left.
Oh, my God! Go across the bridge! Come on! Go.
Come on, go.
Go to the left.
Oh, my God! Go across the bridge! Come on! Go, go, go, up.
[Bleep.]
Go, go, go, across this.
Oh.
Are you okay? No.
The red team has made it to stage 4 just after making their way across the bridge, and the green team is not far behind.
They're trying to make their way through the guard-infested marsh, while the blue team has just arrived at stage 3.
[Bleep.]
We arrived at stage 3.
I see a guard.
I swear, I could smell his cologne.
That's how close he was.
All right.
Get down, get down, get down, get down.
Okay.
We just need a hole.
Where's the map? We got to get one of those things.
What things? Those? Yep.
Okay.
Teams will cross this makeshift bridge, which will take them to an alligator-infested waterway for a little fishing expedition that we like to call stage 4.
Using their fishing pole, line, and hooks, they'll have to pull the correct buoy out of the water and bring it to shore.
Attached to the buoy is an alligator skull and the fourth and final piece of the "great escape" key.
Look at the map.
"Find a pole and tie a fishing line to hook onto it.
" I got one.
Okay.
"Catch and retrieve a buoy in the canal.
Take alligator skull.
" Beth, what -- help me out with this.
Help me out with this map.
Give me the map over here, please.
We're supposed to find a word or something.
Three headstones.
"Position paper on each headstone at four corner marks.
" This is gonna be hard.
We're gonna be fine.
We got this.
Okay.
Okay, all we got to do is retrieve this thing.
Yep.
Just watch for guards.
I got nothing behind me, Tim.
I don't see anything.
Go real slow over it, like impossibly slow.
"Dig under headstone matching date.
" So there's a date.
There should be a date on this paper.
Oh, man, this is just -- [bleep.]
It's okay, it's okay.
Give me input, any input.
I don't know.
Use the water to slow it down, and then pull it up.
We were so excited getting to stage 3, and it was like two steps forward, five steps back.
I'm on the top, and I'm, like, rubbing the candle on.
Figure this out.
Like, help me.
Give me ideas.
Do something.
Do it! Grab the candle and do it! I'm telling davee the complete wrong thing to do.
Oh, my God.
Right here, the four corner marks.
Let me know when you get tired of it, and I'll try it.
I need you to try it.
Yeah.
Here's the other hook.
We're trying all different things.
My arms are giving out.
Can you hold the back of it for me? It was too heavy for me.
See? How it has holes in it? I just told you that.
I just did that here.
I see him.
I see him.
Better go back down, maybe.
So we're gonna do all four pieces of paper on each one and see if it works? Davee, you're not listening to me.
Use that.
Do you want to put two hooks on it and see if that'll be faster? Sure.
Okay.
Try another piece of paper or something.
Okay, let's try holding it I feel like we should be back here, because -- jenn, chill.
I don't know if the guard's back there! I don't want to go [Bleep.]
to stage 1.
I was so tired and worn out and frustrated.
I was just almost ready to give up.
I knew that about him.
Better think of something real quick.
I think you just need a whole bunch of string to tie that.
Okay.
Is there a way you could jam the end of it in? Jenn just had this brilliant idea -- "instead of having the hook just dangle, why don't you tie it and make more of like a spear?" We are so close.
And we're looking for one of these dates.
Oh, my God.
Like, this is just asinine.
We need to find a date on one of the tombstones and dig there.
I want to win.
Oh, my God.
Hold on.
It says "'93" over here -- "1893.
" That's it.
Get the bag.
Get the map.
He's down there somewhere.
We find the date.
We dig like nobody's business.
Is that the other key? Is that the other key? Yeah.
Okay, here we go.
Here we go.
We're down about a good foot and a half.
She hits the tackle box.
You can hear the suction.
Oh [Bleep.]
it's heavy.
Here.
We threw the pole into the water.
We were screwed.
It's a bag of rocks.
Here -- what? We threw the pole into the water.
We were screwed.
What are these for? Oh, my God.
We didn't want the other teams to see what we had done with the pole, so we run over.
Fortunately, it got stuck in the mud.
It didn't go that far.
What does it say? "Catch and retrieve buoy in canal.
Take alligator skull.
" Did you see an alligator skull? No.
All right.
Well, then, I'm gonna get the other buoy.
Okay.
Scan the horizon.
See if you're picking up anything I'm not picking up.
What do we do now? We're gonna get the piece, and we're gonna get the tackle.
Red team has made a costly error, throwing their fishing pole in the water before realizing they did not have the key piece nor the alligator skulls, so the green team now has gained valuable time and is making their way through the marsh, while the blue team has just found their tackle box at the cemetery in stage 3.
Here's the piece, baby.
Blue team has completed stage 3.
There's tackle.
The piece and the tackle.
This is all that's in here.
Hang on.
Don't pull hard.
It's got the alligator skull.
Yes! "Stage 4, old fishing hole.
Find pole, tie line.
" I have the tie line right here.
Fishing hole.
Be cool.
That guard's over there.
What is it? Okay.
It says "cajun pearl ii.
" That's probably a boat or something? Go for that big tree.
Red team has completed stage 4.
Let's go.
Come on! Okay, so, which way are we going? "To transport zone, boat landing.
" This is the transport zone, where three canoes are waiting.
Teams will have to use their alligator skulls' teeth as a knife to cut the canoe rope so they can escape the swamp.
Once the teams have accurately assembled the great escape key, it will reveal my whereabouts, and the only thing standing between them and $100,000 are their paddling skills.
Look out for guards, please.
Okay.
No guard.
Which one is our boat? We're taking this boat.
No, no, no.
Does it say cajun pearl ii? I think that's where we're supposed to go.
Oh, oh, oh.
It was tough getting through there -- through that bayou, through that swamp.
Seriously? Use these to cut through? That's not gonna help.
I'm cutting the same rope.
Well, I was over here first, dude.
Use the water to spin the hook.
There you go.
Shoot.
I don't like this one.
You really just need one side.
Just focus on one side.
We heard them over there, trying to deal with the boat, the next challenge.
Dude, I'm halfway through.
This is hard.
Running in the swamp doesn't compare to anything.
It's wet.
It's slimy.
We could hit a gator.
You could hit a snake.
There you go.
How about sticking it in the end? Got one.
Okay.
Here you go.
Little bit of ingenuity, Timmy.
Old fishing hole.
Guard.
Oh! Yes! As we were paddling, we started passing the green team fishing, and we actually locked eyes with them.
We had no idea that they were that close.
Dude.
We saw them paddle by.
And I heard him say, "hurry up.
" They're right on our tail, so we can catch them.
Green team has completed stage 4.
- Are you doing okay? - Yep.
Don't give up hope.
They can get detained, and we're right on them.
Hang on, hang on.
It might be this.
Watch out for guards.
Getting there.
Wait, wait, wait.
I think we're going the wrong way.
We are? I see stuff.
All right, all right.
Let's go.
I think I see something.
Yeah.
I didn't.
Davee -- he literally just throws the line into the water and has it in one swoop.
Team cha-ching just handled it.
I'm straight-up redneck.
Blue team has completed stage 4.
Here.
To the right.
This way.
We basically rolled the dice and made a right.
Oh, my God! Wait, stop, stop.
Try to keep going.
We got to keep going.
[Bleep.]
I'm stuck in the water, babe.
Can you please help me?! Oh, no.
I'm scared! Hang a right.
That's it! Cajun pearl ii! There's rich.
Oh, my God! Let's do it.
Whoo! They could drop the key in the water.
Anything could happen.
We have to take it to the end no matter what.
It's done.
I'm done.
Keep going, honey.
Oh, my gosh! 100 grand, 100 grand.
Whoo! Oh, my God! [Bleep.]
As soon as we get to the boat, you think, you know, smooth sailing from here on out.
You got the bag? Got it.
And as soon as I stand up, I start losing my balance.
Oh, my -- [Bleep.]
I fell out of the boat, and I just watched the bag.
If that had fallen a foot to the left, it would have sunk to the bottom of this deep, muddy river.
You got this.
Hey, do you have the map? This is it.
Do you have the key? It's behind you.
Do you want me in the front or back? Go.
Go out the back.
Okay.
Come on.
Watch your step.
Oh, my God! Come on up here.
I think you have something for me, right? All right.
Let's see.
It fits.
Jennifer and Paul, you fought.
You fled.
You found your way to freedom.
You navigated the waterways and canals of the Louisiana bayou.
You have won "the great escape.
" Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Red team has won.
Well, as you can see, your green-team competition is pulling up right here.
Sucks.
They went through this whole thing.
They got to the end, just a little late.
We're used to determination and teamwork.
It was bad luck getting detained by guards, because we were right on their tail.
It was a great experience, and it was fun.
You know what? Yeah.
Well, I'll learn from it and be a stronger person from my failures.
The shackles -- I think if we would have got those in even 1 1/2 times as fast as those other teams did, we would have at least been in contention.
I feel bad.
Like, I feel like I let him down.
You didn't let me down.
Come on.
We were a team.
What are you guys gonna do with $100,000? Well, we just bought a house, and the money's tight, and Jennifer and Paul, you escaped the real Louisiana swamp.
You've got the mud, the bite marks, and $100,000 to prove it.
All right.
Congratulations.
I never win anything.
I just feel like we're able to take anything on now.
It was tough, but we won "the great escape.
