[Leonie] Hey, listen. Apparently,
one of the robbers cut himself in here.
The forensics team
found multiple microscopic bloodstains.
[Mats] Weren't the robbers wearing gloves?
Could it be from one of our people?
No, there's blood on the ladder
and around the broken skylight.
They must have bled through them.
Uh, SKL said
they're fast-tracking the processing.
[Mats] Okay.
Uh, come in so we can have a debrief.
Okay, I'll be there. Bye.
[man 1] Another tip, uh, from County
Criminal Investigations, actually.
It's high priority.
Two Poles were seen at Indian Garden
talking about money
the day after the heist.
- [man 2] What does that mean?
- [man 1] Should we go after 'em?
[man 2] We already got 2,000 tips,
and people are still calling.
[Tamas] There's no way we can follow up
on all of them, even with County's help.
[man 1] It'll only get worse.
I just spoke to G4S.
Now they're offering a reward
for any tips that lead to arrests.
- Seven million kronor.
- [man 2] Seven million?
- [Willner] Idiots.
- [Mats] Seven million, huh?
We'll be drowning in calls.
We'll get a call a minute.
No way we'll keep up.
- [Mats] Yeah, no way.
- [Leonie] Guys.
We shouldn't get swept away
in tips and speculation.
We need to focus
on what we actually know right now,
and we know that a pilot, Axel Broberg,
met with Zoran Petrović
no more than three weeks before the heist.
- [Mats] Huh.
- Hm.
What's the story with Broberg right now?
What do we have on him so far?
Good question. What do we know?
Let's take a look.
Axel Broberg.
Thirty-six years old,
resident of Ljusterö. Uh, two kids.
Had 'em when he was young
with his high school sweetheart,
Vanna Andersson Broberg.
[sniffs]
[tense music plays]
[Vanna] Is something burning?
- Hey.
- What?
- [Vanna] Smells like something's burning.
- [Axel] What?
No! Damn it!
[man 1] They separated last year,
but they've since gotten back together.
- He used to work in television.
- Good job.
[man 1] He's since pivoted,
now working as the marketing director
and co-owner of a wind-power company.
He got his helicopter license
in his spare time.
[Willner] So, we're not considering
a Serbian pilot anymore?
[Leonie] The connection
between Petrović and Broberg
is our strongest lead right now.
[Willner] I mean, that being said,
Broberg could've provided the helicopter
without flying it during the heist.
Well, we can't rule that out, no.
[man 1] The interesting thing
about Broberg,
is that his profile doesn't really match
the average hardened criminal.
Upper-middle class, a stable job,
a family, nice house, and so on.
However, it looks like
he was battling a cocaine addiction,
according to a prior conviction.
This is enough for an arrest, right?
We have a helicopter pilot
who was seen meeting with Petrović
just days before the heist and
[Willner] No. It's not enough.
We need more.
- Don't you think we could crack him?
- No.
[Mats] If the robbers told him anything,
it's what'd happen if he ratted them out.
[snorts]
[exhales]
[knocking on door]
- Yeah?
- [girl] What are you doing in there?
I'm, uh, pooping. Why?
- [girl] I need to shower!
- Okay, honey, let me finish up in here.
- [toilet flushes]
- [banging on door]
Settle down, honey. I'm almost done.
- [girl] Then come out!
- [banging on door]
[Axel] Okay, okay. God.
You're such a pain. What is it?
- Does it stink like poop in there?
- You shouldn't knock like that.
- [girl] Jeez!
- [Vanna] What're we doing for sides?
I'll make a salad to go with it.
[Tamas] Stakeouts in residential areas
are almost impossible.
You get spotted immediately.
That's a good thing.
The more anxious he feels,
the more likely he is
to make some mistakes.
[tense music plays]
[breathes deeply]
[profiler 1] Each point here corresponds
to what we call a heist phone.
Every line you see
represents a phone call.
The key to this whole thing
was that operator guy
from the phone company.
He could identify
all the new phones making calls
out of this massive list of phone numbers.
It showed us where to look.
So we searched the logs for new phones
that had pinged
or made a connection
to the tower near the Västberga depot.
We found another number
that we suspect could have been used
by someone on the ground.
Probably the person
who placed the caltrops
or acted as a lookout.
[profiler 1] Once we move on
to the next step,
we'll take that data
and map out the other phones
they were in contact with.
And from there,
we'll build a chain of phone calls.
[Leonie] Hm.
Are you able to take those phones,
and then compare them
to Axel Broberg's cellphone?
[profiler 2] Well,
there's 20,000 calls here,
so it's gonna take a while.
Okay. Thanks. Uh, reach out to me
when you know more.
Thanks.
It's incredible that they pulled this off,
don't you think?
Yeah, there was some kind of intelligence
needed to make this work.
It's just the level of planning
that went into this is spectacular.
Every step was laid out methodically.
It's pretty damn elegant.
- Uh, what do you mean?
- [Heed] What?
In what way is it elegant?
- I
- You gotta admit, it was fairly elegant.
[Heed] There were no shots fired,
no one got injured.
Have you talked
to any of the employees yet?
No.
- Tamas.
- [Tamas] Mm?
Um, when's the interview
with the pregnant woman?
The one who was stuck in the mantrap
and thought she was going to miscarry?
[Tamas] Her interview's scheduled
tomorrow, around lunchtime.
Mm. Heed will take it.
[Heed] But I can't. I have a baptism.
No, you don't.
[sighs]
That's great.
Yeah.
[Mats chuckles]
- [Alex] I don't know what else to say.
- [man] Okay.
Did you ever hear
any of your colleagues talk about
the specific route the robbers took
from the roof, and down to the balcony?
I don't know.
[man] No?
[Leonie] I thought,
since you never saw
what the robbers looked like
Do you recognize him?
No, I don't.
- Can I see it again?
- [Leonie] Mm-hmm.

[Leonie] Do you recognize him?
No, I don't.

'Cause I can't figure it out.
Who said we could bring in the profilers?
Who approved it?
I had no choice.
How do you think it looks?
I said no, and you did it anyway.
[cell phone buzzes]
And Petrović? Have you found him?
Mm. We have 24-hour surveillance on him,
and that pilot, Axel Broberg.
Have you read this?
[sighs]

[Leonie] It's the fact
that they stopped at Kanaan Beach.
[Mats] Yes?
[Leonie] The witnesses are saying
that the helicopter barely touched down
before taking off again.
- No one got on or off.
- [Mats] Okay.
- [Leonie] Sorry!

Hi!
How are you?
[Kian] Tired.
[Leonie] Could it be
where they dropped the cash?
- Thanks so much.
- [teacher] Bye.
[Mats] No. Robbers at this level
would never leave the cash
out of their sight before counting it.
- They don't trust anyone.
- [Leonie] Mm.
So then, you think the robbers
and the cash were dropped off in Norsborg?
[Mats] Yes.
But that doesn't explain
why he landed at Kanaan Beach.
[Leonie] No.
No.
Could it
So maybe the pilot
got scared, and just took off?
[Mats] Okay, so you're thinking
that Skavlöten wasn't
their intended final destination?
[Leonie] Mm.
I mean,

[Mats] Huh.
[Leonie] You know that someone's
waiting for you when you land,
you're alone,
and you haven't been paid yet.
What do you think's gonna happen?
[tense music plays]
[Mats] You're saying he thought
they were gonna kill him?
[Leonie] Mm.
What if the plan was for the pilot to go
drop off the helicopter at Kanaan Beach,
but he got freaked out and ran?
[tense music continues]

7 MISSED CALLS
FROM: BÖRJESSON
[Mats] You were right.
[Heed] I went through the logs of
the taxi companies driving that morning,
the ones you emailed me.
One ride in particular stands out.
It's a drive from McDonald's to Hägernäs,
three, four kilometers
from where they dumped the helicopter.
The person calling was named Johan,
but the number was registered
to a Kevin Karlsson,
20 years old, lives in Täby.
Taxi Stockholm's trying
to get a hold of the driver right now.
What's the deal with the 20-year-old?
Is his record clean?
Uh, yes, and apparently
he works at that McDonald's.
[oil sizzles]
[Leonie] Do you remember
what he looks like?
He was like a normal business guy.
Uh, he ordered a small breakfast meal,
then he asked to use my phone.
Did he look stressed out?
Am I in trouble for this?
I only need to know what he said.
You guys have CCTV cameras at the counter?
[man 1] Mm-hmm.
And for how long
is that video footage stored?
I don't know. You'd have to ask my boss.
- Could you get him for me, please?
- Yeah, for sure.
[man 2] Did you say a quarter to seven
on the 23rd?
- Yeah, around seven o'clock.
- [man 2] Hm.
Wait, go back a little.
[tense music plays]

[Lena] We can tie Broberg to Skavlöten.
This is at 6:50 in the morning.
McDonald's in Hägernäs, a few kilometers
from where the helicopter landed.
[tense music continues]
[Willner] It's unbelievable.
[man] The parents won last year.
[Willner] What's he doing there?
Having breakfast?
[Leonie] He asked the cashier
to call a taxi.
Can we link him to the taxi?
The driver confirmed it was Broberg.
- [man 1] Right there.
- [woman] Here! I'm open!
Hey. hey!
[woman] Here! Hey!

National Forensics found a match
for the blood found in the depot.
Rami Farhan.
He did time
for the National Museum robbery.
[Mats] He seems to have fled the country.
- Where?
- I reached out to contacts at Interpol.
- We'll see what they say.
- [Lena] We know there were more than two.
The technicians found DNA on one
of the blast frames the robbers used,
so we're waiting on those results.
We need more names before we can act.
Otherwise, there's a risk
the others'll scatter.
- [cell phone rings]
- [Mats] Uh, sorry, I have to take this.
Yes, hello?
Ah, yes.
This is Mats Börjesson speaking.
[tense music plays]
[Mats] My contact said
that Rami Farhan was already flagged
when he landed in the Dominican Republic.
Apparently, the American DEA
thought he was traveling there
for some kind of drug deal.
So that's why they've been following him.
But the guy from the DEA
shared another little tidbit.
Someone else has also
been watching Farhan.
[tense music continues]
[Rami] Excuse me?
Hi.
Dolores?
Uh, can you help me
to mail this to Sweden?
[Dolores] Mm.

[melancholy music continues]
[profiler 1] We found something.
When we took a closer look
at a total of 14 phones
that were active during the night,
primarily two of them stick out.
They're more active, and move around
extremely fast over a large area.
Our theory is that these were two burner
phones being used in the helicopter.
And when we compared the data
from the cell tower
and the helicopter's satellite GPS data,
their location data
was virtually identical.
[profiler 1] Then, we stumbled
onto something else we found interesting.
We found one more number that had
pinged another phone tower in Frescati
at the same time
the helicopter landed there.
[profiler 2] A phone tied
to a registered number was turned on
and connected to the cell tower
at the same time as the two burner phones.
[Leonie] Axel Broberg's phone.
[profiler 2] Yep. That's his name.
[Leonie] Can we see what he was doing?
[profiler 2] Hm, he sent a text
to a Vanna something.
[Leonie] His wife.
[tense music plays]
So we're able to tie Broberg
to the helicopter now?
Just like that?
Well, the thing is that,
no matter how careful these robbers were,
we have an advantage.
They have no idea we can do this.
It's all new. Actually,
the first time we've fully used it.
[tense music continues]
For instance, we can see
that one of the burner phones
called a number that isn't a part
of the closed circuit of heist phones.
We're pretty sure
it's what one would call a prep phone,
which will, in turn, make calls
to its own closed network of other phones.
Using the network of prep phones,
we were able to determine the robbers'
exact movements during their prep phase.
We then cross-referenced
their location data
with your master list of plausible robbers
and their home addresses.
