The Tribe (2024) s01e08 Episode Script

Episode 8

1
[soft music plays]
[birds chirping]
[upbeat music plays]
-Hi Als, what's up?
-Hi.
How was your day?
You look like, a little exhausted.
-Yeah, I'm a little tired.
-You want some food?
-Yeah, some roti
-Roti?
and potatoes sound amazing.
I don't think I've had
a home-cooked meal
-in a while.
-You want to eat a little bit.
[Alanna] Hardik is an amazing cook.
Every time I'm craving home food
or Indian food, I'll go to Hardik's house
and he'll make me roti and
potatoes and it's like, the best.
Do you remember our first meeting?
Choosing the girls for CollabTribe,
-where we made a list
-Hmm.
-Mm-hmm.
-that we want the most drama-free
-Yeah.
-Down to earth
-Yeah. Oh, I know where this is going.
-Low-maintenance girls.
I know where this is going.
In the four years of us
knowing each other,
who has yelled at someone like that?
-Not as much as she was yelling.
-Over eggs.
I mean, I agree with that.
She does have her problems,
-and she does throw tantrums.
-Yeah.
But bro, tantrum is money
in today's world.
[dramatic music plays]
She's great, she's very talented,
but maybe she's not
cut out for like, social media.
I know. You want some pickle or chutney
or something?
-No, I'm good. Thank you.
-You're good? Okay.
I'm with you completely,
I'm just saying that
we came from India to
-get away from all of this.
-Exactly.
But let's see if we can
make an effort to honestly
help her in being productive
and like, live up to her potential.
And then this is the second thing,
that if she isn't
going to be a part of CollabTribe
then the girls
and I don't think that
she should be part of the Lakmé shoot.
Can you imagine if we do this hoarding
of like, "We are CollabTribe, look at us!"
-And then
-Have not one of the members, like, yeah
Explain to the world that,
oh, okay, she went back.
I think her lighthouse in her life
is the beacon of like, making money.
She doesn't understand how long it has
taken all of you to like, get there.
And she doesn't understand that
it's not instant, it's not going to like,
happen overnight and that she needs to
build like, a cult following and
A couple of times, she was showing me
a couple of pictures.
She's like, "Does this picture look good?"
Like, dude, this is 2016!
You cannot be liking this, so
-She is that,
-Yeah.
remotely disconnected from our world.
Let's do our best and then,
you know, something doesn't work out,
doesn't work out.
And then at least, we can tell ourselves,
go back to sleep peacefully
knowing that we did
everything we could for her.
[Alanna] Hardik did what he does.
He's like it's your decision.
But also like, she should be in it.
[in Hindi] Leaving someone halfway and,
[in English] like, you know,
not making them a part of it,
and stuff is not making any sense.
[in Hindi] Like, you know,
teach her, change her.
[Hardik in English] Do what we are
supposed to do for her.
I'm not going to give up!
But if this
happens again and again
I think you just need to jam like,
criticism down her throat,
whether she likes it or not.
[in Hindi]
Let her feel bad if she does.
[in English]
If she cries, let her go and cry.
Personally, I have come away
from a toxic environment.
Let's not ever go back there.
-You know
-Let's just give it
one last final effort
to make sure she realizes
what she has to lose
more than what she has to gain.
[tense music plays]
I feel like there are some things
we should discuss and clear out.
So, what's your plan here?
You clearly are unsure
whether you're gonna stay or not.
I mean, my only issue is that
there's no clear plan.
I mean, of course,
I'd love to make money here because it's
so much better than India.
-You know, you get paid a lot more.
-Yeah.
With my agency back home,
they said
Like, I have meetings regularly,
where they'll be like,
"Okay now, you need to start posting
these many times a week."
-And there are Like their content stra
-You might need a social media manager,
-for that.
-No. You just need
someone to help you strategize.
-Yeah.
-And right now, no one's doing that.
Everyone in this house knows you have
an issue with talking about people.
Yeah, I mean, I am opinionated.
It was a conversation
that was due for a very long time.
I figured I might as well
just sit down and talk to her.
If I don't like something
that someone's doing,
I'd even like,
go and say this to their face.
But that's the thing.
The issue is that you don't.
-You say it behind their back.
-[Alaviaa] But
In my head, I was like,
who are you trying to fool, Alaviaa?
You've not said anything
about any opinion that you've had
about any of these girls.
-You've said it behind their backs.
-But I don't think it's a big deal.
-Like what have I
-But you're talking about someone else.
-Doesn't matter if it's a big deal to you!
-I mean, everyone sits and gossips and,
-says just dumb things.
-Yes, agreed. I agree with that.
You can't sit here
and say that you don't do that.
-Yeah.
-I'm not saying that at all.
Are you saying you don't
have opinions about people?
-I do, but then it's not personal things.
-Yeah, so it's not a big deal.
No one is trusting you right now.
I don't think that's
a big deal, like, whatever.
-Yeah.
-I just don't think these stupid things
are a big deal.
They're really not.
I don't care if they trust me
or not trust me.
I'm not here to become
BFFs with everyone.
Like, as if I've gone and told people,
"Oh my God, did you know
she killed someone?"
Well, it's not a big deal to you but
you're damaging people's reputations.
How do you have no loyalty
towards anyone here?
-What do you mean I don't have loyalty?
-Like, you're flipping on everyone.
Who have I flipped on?
I just don't think
I cross-pollinate things
that are not meant to be cross-pollinated.
Just like, who got fillers,
things like that.
I don't think those are a big deal
because I've spoken about it.
What might be okay to you,
might not be okay with someone else.
You've talked about me, right?
You've talked about Alanna.
Srushti has very blatantly told us
she'd never tell you anything personal
because she does not trust you.
Srushti's explained this to me being like
"You don't realize that"
-I do
-You talk about everything.
Unless you come and tell me like,
"Oh, Alaviaa, don't talk about this."
Then I'll think like,
okay, this is personal to you.
If someone doesn't come and tell you
not to talk about this to anyone,
then you have free reign over it?
I was like, yeah, I'd probably
joke about it with my friends and I'd tell
them about it because I think it's funny.
Everyone is so used to
just you talking trash.
Even when I heard about you talking shit
about Kyle, I was not shocked at all.
-I laughed it off.
-Yeah, but I admit to that.
I was just like, yeah,
I said what I said.
How do you not see an issue with this?
-You think you passed some comments.
-I'm not saying it was right
for me to talk about Kyle,
because I barely knew him.
He'd been seeing you for two months.
And also, he had no interest
in talking to you at the time.
Yeah. But this is my opinion that I formed
-after seeing him with every
-And you told everyone else.
-After seeing him with everyone else.
-So, does that Is that nice?
[dramatic music plays]
He's anyway shy, and on top of that,
she said all this.
He's not He didn't go talk to her and
I guess she didn't like that very much.
I didn't think me saying he was boring,
is like, a big deal.
Okay, then say it to me.
But we weren't friends.
I'm not going to come and
be like, "Oh Aryaana, by the way"
Like, we weren't on talking terms.
I'm not going to come and say that to you
-laughing.
-No one wants to be in a situation
where there is
no safe space for communication.
I mean, that's fine then.
They can think whatever they want to.
-Then they don't know me.
-But how does that not matter to you?
I'm not going to sit here
and try to justify myself.
I don't think like, there's anything
that I need to change
because I feel like the other girls
are literally the same.
I don't think I'm going to listen
to someone who like,
gossips as much as me,
but then comes and lectures me
about not gossiping.
[clouds thundering]
[Alanna] It's raining. Oh my god.
-What's up?
-I heard you sat down with the girls.
Do you think you guys are fine?
Or is it
I don't know yet.
I mean, it's for her to take her time
-[Alanna] Mm-hmm.
-and become fine.
So, this is something that I thought
Just felt like, the way it was dealt
in that situation wasn't right.
I talk very loudly and people
sometimes misunderstand that
for something else.
-But, it wasn't even a talk loudly
-But No, no.
It was like, a yelling situation.
-I'll tell you what happens Let me talk.
-No, no.
I'll tell you what happens
when you bring up something
in front of the entire group.
Now, automatically, the entire group
is involved, which I didn't want.
Like, we had a beach shoot plan that day.
The mood just changed. Everyone
was just like, "What just happened?"
This is something that had to
come from me that this isn't acceptable
and it can never happen again.
It was like, $35,000
to bring everyone out there to do this.
And to leave with no content,
I'm answerable to Hardik
because he's like,
"What the hell have you guys done?"
It's scary for me because
it's exactly why we failed the first time.
I get it. It won't happen again.
There is this man who is putting
a large amount of money behind us.
We're not making anything and
giving back to him as of now.
And I'd like to clarify this,
nobody's giving him anything.
And there is this girl who has just
gotten married, who has her own home,
but gets up every morning and comes here
and brings her husband
to click our pictures.
And pushes us and kicks us
to hustle for ourselves.
So, that is not their fault.
That is on me.
[Alfia] I'm largely misunderstood.
There are a lot of perceptions
about me back home
in the social circle, that I wanted to
change about myself,
-right?
-[Alanna] Yeah.
Like, people call me mad.
People say I victimize myself.
I've been called crack, mental, mad,
dramatic, all of those things.
But my problem is that I'm hypersensitive.
Inside of this
whole personality that I put up,
I'm also a very shaken up,
hurt, and sensitive person.
I have the courage
to acknowledge my mistakes,
but what is remembered is
only the first bit of it,
that she's crazy and she can't
She's victimizing herself
and she can't stop thinking
about anything but herself.
Don't forget that just because the other
girls, like, maybe don't show it
Like, everyone's kind of sensitive
deep down inside.
Like, Srushti cried that day.
She was like, "I don't care,"
but then she cried.
People might not show it, even I might not
show, but all of us are like, you know,
sensitive in our own ways.
If you're hypersensitive,
you need to be considerate
even more about other people's feelings.
I'm gonna talk about
something I've never spoken about.
Two people know this, my mom and my dad.
When I was 12, I was diagnosed with
really, really bad social anxiety.
At 14, I was put on
the strongest anxiety medication.
I had a breakdown when
we did the shoot. I went to the bathroom,
-I cried my eyes out. I wiped them,
-I saw.
and I walked out
like nothing happened.
And I completely understand what you said,
when you had an anxiety attack.
I have had so many as a kid.
I battled it and now
I'm the most confident version of myself.
Nothing anyone says can bring me down.
So, I understand
what you're going through.
But not once in my life have I used that.
I have never ever gotten my emotions into
a workspace or like, dumped it on others.
You have a fire in you
and you can just like, kill it
if you don't let
your emotions take over. Don't.
And you haven't even reached a point
where you have a platform
where you're going to experience hate
like you've never experienced before.
Wait till you have a million followers
and you're waking up every day
to unwanted opinions about your body,
things you can't control,
things you're born with.
People judging, you lose weight,
you put on weight, your face.
You're constantly being analyzed.
If you can't emotionally handle
something in your close-knit circle,
you are not cut out for this.
And I'll tell you this straight up,
this is not the line for you to be in
if you're going to be
so emotionally reactive.
Just wait!
People will use anything in their power
to drag you down.
I wake up every day and people are like,
"What's this body?
You look like a stick. You're flat."
I'll choose the tiniest top
and the tiniest fucking skirt
and walk out so fucking confident
and that's the only thing
that's going to work.
You cannot be a marshmallow.
You need to be a rock.
[gentle music plays]
I get it and I will get it together.
What people sometimes forget is
that I'm also just 24.
Like, too much has happened in three years
and the way it broke me,
I do feel like I'm alone.
If you feel like, in the future
because I want you to succeed
that you need any kind of
professional help, someone to speak to,
we're here for you.
I understand where everyone
is coming from
but I do feel like
I have to figure this out on my own.
Please don't take this the wrong way
but I'd never rely on anyone for anything
because of what all I have had to hear.
And I've just been apologizing
for the last two days.
If you need my help, we're here.
Like, this is what our company is.
It's not like any other agency.
It's literally, a company run by friends.
That's what our motto is.
So, we're all here.
I feel like what happened that day,
in an ideal world,
if I'm being a little selfish,
I'd expect a little support,
a little love.
[Alfia] I don't know why I did what I did,
and whether it was okay to have
that attack in front of people, but
I mean, I have to move on
if I want to work.
[gentle music fades]
[phone ringing]
-Hello.
-[Rumi in Hindi] Yes, dear?
-[in Arabic] Greetings.
-[Rumi speaks indistinctly on call]
-What are you doing?
-I've come to Chennai.
I'm at Boney uncle's place.
We've just eaten.
Do you miss your child?
I miss my child a lot, all day and night.
If I'm sitting at home,
I feel like knocking on your door.
"Alfia, have you woken up?"
And then I hear you from inside,
"Daddu, please!"
See what I'm eating.
You're having a doughnut? Oh, wow!
[Rumi on call] Awesome!
-[Rumi on call] Made me hungry!
-No, I end up eating this every day.
I miss home-cooked food.
[in English] There was so much going on
at the time, I just felt like calling Dad.
I needed that warmth
and that comfort from family.
[in Hindi] I wanted to talk
about something.
[Rumi on call] Tell me.
I'm just wondering whether
I have made the right decision or not.
I'm a bit worried.
Why be worried, dear?
I'll tell you one thing,
in life, one shouldn't overthink.
Pray to God to guide us
and to show us the right path
and then just follow your heart.
And then once you do the work,
you shouldn't fret over it.
A lot has happened.
You know Srushti, right?
-The one I was the closest to.
-[Rumi on call] Srushti Yes.
I had a fight with her.
How can you have a fight
with someone who's the closest to you?
Don't we fight with those
who are close to us?
How can one argue with a stranger?
Spoken like a true dialogue
writer's daughter. And you're right.
I yelled at her a bit too much.
And then I
I had a very bad anxiety attack,
exactly after it.
I know that you cry or have a reaction
when you're angry.
But I've never seen you yell.
I got angry and cried.
That happened, of course.
But before that,
I yelled at her for a couple of minutes.
And now, the atmosphere at home
is very weird.
[Rumi on call] If you have a fight
with your friend,
the first thing you should do
is apologize to them and
give them a hug and a kiss.
-Yes, I did. I apologized many times.
-[Rumi on call] You did?
-Who was in the wrong? Was it her or you?
-I don't know.
But I do know that
I shouldn't have yelled at her.
Now that you've realized that
you shouldn't have yelled,
both God and your friend
will forgive you.
[Rumi on call] One should move on in life.
But the other girls aren't letting me
move on. What do I do?
They're still talking on the same topic,
even after all these days.
They'll pass comments
every now and then.
I was at fault,
so I'm quietly listening.
Yes, but talk to them politely.
Everything can be resolved
by just talking it out.
[in English] Okay, Dad.
[in Hindi] Okay, dear.
Take care.
-[in English] I love you, dad.
-I love you.
[in Hindi] Bye, dear.
[upbeat music plays]
[in English] Is the video ready?
Can you please send it quickly?
I'm super nervous.
Hardik is very excited,
and nervous to see it.
Just send me the first rush
whenever possible. I'm waiting.
Okay, thanks.
Did you switch on
the dishwasher in the end?
[Alaviaa] No, I thought
Aryaana's putting it.
She's not moved one bowl.
What have you done?
Your pan is lying over there.
-I have done the dishes.
-But what have you made?
Rice.
It's looking really bad.
[Alaviaa laughs]
How can you say that about food?
It's somebody's food.
Your attitude's a little bitchy right now.
[whimsical music plays]
-Yesterday, when you were like give me
-She's not washed that,
-Hi.
-you haven't washed the top, Aryaana.
Are you just roaming
around like, looking like this?
Yes.
Aryaana, I just wanna say
you have gone up 20,000 followers,
-I have!
-and that you've posted every day.
-And I just want to give you a big hug.
-Yeah she's been posting a reel
Every day
for the past seven days.
[cheerful music plays]
Srushti, take notes.
-You take notes.
-She's going to kill me today.
Okay, I have some really good news.
I feel like this might be
a table conversation.
Mm!
Remember I was talking I told you guys
at the cafe, I was talking to Lakmé.
Mm-hmm.
It's been confirmed. It's happening.
Oh, my God! No way!
And besides the US, they're also
gonna have hoardings all across Mumbai.
So, this is bigger than
we think it's going to be, guys.
My parents are going to be able to see me
even if they're not here.
People around me are very confused
about what I do for a living.
So, I feel like
-This is validation enough.
-This is the validation.
There's this word "privilege"
that just keeps thrown into our faces.
The fact that these privileged kids
have kinda done something
that's like everybody's dream,
I feel like
that's some kind of validation.
-That's so cute.
-This Alaviaa is not even excited.
I'm excited, guys.
This Alaviaa's acting
too entitled
-all day today.
-She's like, "Aw, that's cute."
It's not cool enough for you?
Guys, to cry and all now
You're a little spoilt right now.
Thanks.
My response to getting a movie
and the billboard was the same.
I'm just like, eh, it's okay.
But she was just, blah.
Who is blah to this?
I actually love it for you because
we've like, been here for so long, and
There's no struggle.
-She's nicely lived with her parents.
-That's not true.
You didn't live here for
the past three years all by yourself,
trying to like, make it, right?
Yeah, but I went to college in New York.
And then I was living
-Now, I'm living in Mumbai on my own.
-I went to college in New York.
Living on your own in Bombay,
-in your mom's house is not living
-Yeah, I'm not
-on your own.
-Yes, but I'm still spending my own money.
Back to business.
I mean, this shoot is
coming up really quickly.
-Do we know when?
-It's gonna happen like, within this week.
We're shooting at Paradise Cove.
-It's gonna be this sunset,
-My fave!
golden-kissed shoot
and everyone's gonna
be looking amazing.
-Basically, Alanna's feed.
-It's my feed.
Because I've to even run this
by the brand
Is it four girls or is it
-Five girls
-With the way Alaviaa's going,
it might be three.
Have you had a word with her about
what her plans are?
The last time we spoke,
she was really upset.
She doesn't feel welcome,
she feels out of place.
I feel like, if she's, "Oh, I don't
feel like it, I'm gonna leave,"
then she should not be on it.
-[Aryaana] Decide it.
-See, if it happens, where she comes here,
gets on a billboard
because of CollabTribe,
then later, has the story to tell where,
"Oh yeah,
once I was on a billboard in LA,"
then it's like, kinda,
we get taken advantage over.
Like, she's walked into a mansion, guys.
-Yes.
-Yeah.
We had it way harder than this.
Before she even did like,
a barter deal,
like, for a product,
which is how we all started.
Because she's lucky.
She's literally getting this
from CollabTribe, as her first-ever deal
without any of her credibility
because CollabTribe, for now,
is having this credibility.
Like, there's so many ifs and buts.
Sometimes she has like,
mood swings or how she takes criticism
or how she's so sensitive.
Obviously, we've built something
from scratch and then
finally get this opportunity and just,
easily just give it to somebody who's
probably not even very nice to all of us.
Yeah, nobody wanted to be a mean girl,
but there's a little bit of a
So, it just comes down to,
is this working out with this
With Alfia.
But I think you should've known that
when a girl was coming in
with only With zero followers.
But then again, guys,
she also came in with a different goal.
Her goal has changed.
-She came in wanting to start to cook.
-Yeah, I don't know Yeah.
She was
She said she wanted to do cooking videos.
That's why we were like, "Oh, wait,
this is something that
could be different,
-that could work."
-[Alaviaa] Yeah.
Okay, I'm calling Alfia down,
let's just
[Alanna] I don't think she's gonna
take it very well.
But this is again,
a very tough decision.
[dramatic music plays]
[clears throat]
-Hi.
-Hi.
-Hi, Alfie.
-Hey.
-You look pretty.
-What's happening?
-I love her hair like this. It's cute.
-Your make-up looks nice.
-I did it.
-And your blush.
So the campaign we were talking about
in Pismo has been confirmed.
-And it's Lakmé.
-Wow!
And it's going
to be huge.
They're gonna do it in the US,
but also in Mumbai right now.
-Oh, that's great.
-So, we're all very excited.
-Yeah.
-We just wanted to come here and discuss.
We just don't
want another girl that we,
not just get close to personally,
but even work-wise,
and then have a girl go back.
I mean, basically,
the discussion was
whether we
should include you or not, TBH.
You have expressed on multiple occasions
that you want to go home.
If we're literally including you
in the biggest opportunity we've had
and then you leave,
it's gonna be a little
[Aryaana] We're gonna look very silly.
Like, we
All of us want to share it, right?
Like, it's not in our hearts
to kinda be like,
"Oh, if we have this opportunity
in our hands,
why would we not give it to a girl?"
It's like, every girl's dream.
We already are helping you
so much as friends.
And then, just in case
we're not able to do this together,
it's like, we're sharing
the biggest opportunity we've had
with somebody we've known,
like, for the past two weeks.
[Alanna] Yeah.
-You know, so it's like
-Yes. I feel she's saying, at that point,
it's not just work,
but it also becomes personal.
What do you all want to hear from me?
I'm committed to CollabTribe in terms of
I will deliver what is asked of me.
Secondly, I'll never back out
from what I'm saying.
But in our initial meeting,
you told me you loved cooking
and that you wanted
to make cooking videos,
but when you came here that changed.
I said I want to be able to do
everything that I do on a daily basis.
Even with food videos, I've tried.
Like, I'm trying
to figure things out.
What we're saying,
this is not a "figuring out."
You either want to do this
or you don't.
-This is not like, "I'm figuring it out."
-[Alfia] But, you want
Other than giving my word,
I'll sign whatever you want me to sign.
-But it's not much
-That paper doesn't matter.
If you want to go home, you go home.
[dramatic music plays]
I've been here for a month.
I've been really struggling to figure
in terms of like, content-wise.
That is why I came to you
two weeks ago and I said, listen,
"Twenty-two and divorced."
Shit! Like, crazy idea.
Just do it. You didn't do it.
I don't have the permission
to do that.
Not because I'm hiding my divorce.
There's something, there's a fine line
where things are sensitive
to the other side of the family
and they've made it very clear that
someone cannot be cashing out on that.
Even if it's a clickbait.
If I'm not wrong, she came up
with this title, it was not me.
She literally said, should I do Should
I make it as "Twenty-two and divorced"?
I'm like, hell yeah!
Cut to in front of everybody,
she's like [imitates Alfia], "I don't know
if I'm going to be comfortable with it."
You came up with it.
It's crazy because there are content
creators in India
-that would die to earn in
-To be here and do this.
Brand deals here are just
10x of what you'd make in India.
You're just like,
making so much more money here.
I couldn't stress enough
that we as an agency
just give you the resources.
You are the content creator.
And content creators create the content.
We're the agency, you're the creator.
Do you think professionally,
anything that has been asked of me,
have I ever let my emotions
get in the way of my content?
I'm posting every day.
I feel like that's a bare minimum
when you're an influencer.
Like, it's not enough
to be on a billboard.
I'm just saying that I feel like
there needs to be an aesthetic
where you decide, okay,
this is what I want to do.
It can't be all over the place,
because it's not going to work. Especially
because you don't have followers.
-But I agree
-[Alanna] When I
You know when I click
on yours, what's missing?
I don't know who you are.
It's like, there's a personal
and a personality element missing.
So, when it comes down to
have you done everything to
Like, have you done your best?
Then the answer is no.
Because you've not done this.
-[Srushti] But also
-So don't take me.
I don't know why people are acting like
this has been charity.
That, oh, how sweet! See, we let you be.
But it kinda is
At this point.
No, I mean, it's literally like
a free opportunity handed in your lap.
What have you done for it?
But when I have given every word possible
to take a call that maybe I don't have
that fire inside me is unfair.
I'm giving that commitment that I won't
let you all feel like it was a waste.
Whatever this discussion has gone down
right now, behind my back,
I'm not saying that you all were
planning or plotting against me,
but I could've been
included in the discussion
so that I knew
where everyone was coming from.
Alfia is really
And I wanna kinda learn this.
We prepped our conversation
to almost tell her off.
But when she comes into the scene,
it's almost like, flipped.
Like suddenly, you're the bad guy
and she's the victim.
What is it? How do you do that?
Do you have glycerin in your bag?
I have a question, Alfia.
Why do you want to
do content creation all of a sudden?
Because that's what
my gut is telling me to do and
I am an impulsive person.
And I would like to follow
what my heart wants to do.
I've always been clear
about wherever I live,
I'll be with CollabTribe and
it's my responsibility
to deliver the work and
make sure that the company
also has some benefit of taking me.
I think I'm just gonna make
the decision.
I think we should just do it.
So, I'm on it, right? So, I can be
Hardik did say that
we should give her a second chance
which I agreed with, but
I can't speak for the other girls
but her leaving is a direct reflection
of me failing, right?
Why would I get this girl, build up,
and then she goes back?
I think it's everyone
I think it's a yes.
I mean, we're doing
a Lakmé campaign.
From where I was thinking
about Juhu Circle,
I've actually made it to Hollywood.
I don't think she honestly realizes
how lucky she is.
It's beyond.
We've given her a freaking billboard
within 30 days of her coming to America.
I hope she realizes that.
I do think it was gift-wrapped
and handed to Alfia just like that.
You have 3000 followers,
so why should you be even a part of this?
But again, I don't think
any of us are the type of people
to take that opportunity away
from anyone.
If she does the Lakmé campaign,
it'll grow her followers.
And then the followers will get us money.
This is a business decision.
It's a money decision.
[energetic music plays]
[Alanna] So, we'd made the call
to include her
and things were still a little tense.
And I was worried because
I didn't know how we were supposed to
do a group shoot after that.
[feel-good music plays]
So, what we needed was an icebreaker
and where better than by the pool?
But no, content first.
Okay, we're done.
[Aryaana] It was a really pretty sunset.
We just wanted to sit by the pool
and do some girl talk.
-Tell us about your first date with Kyle.
-He came to Venice and
-first, we took a walk on the beach.
-[slurps]
She's talking and you're like [slurps]
This girl, literally! I'm trying to hear
the story and she's like [slurps]
[Alaviaa laughs]
Hey, I think I have mouth fixation.
I'm not sure what it is.
[slurps]
No matter what is going on,
I kinda have to like
[whimsical music plays]
We decided to just run
into the water.
We were planning like,
a hot tub later.
-We ran into the ocean
-Hot tub on the first date.
I don't believe they've talked at all
at this stage.
-No, we've talked a lot.
-You'll talked?
Actually, our first kiss came
-at the end of this date.
-Aw!
-In the ocean. At 03:00 a.m.
-Oh, my god!
[Srushti] Firstly, I wouldn't
enter Venice beach's water, like,
in bright daylight. What are they doing
at three in the morning?
This is like,
first dates are ruined for me now.
-What is going to match up to this ever?
-I've not been on many dates in my life.
-You've never been on a date?
-Irritating small talk.
Like, it's not for me.
I don't understand the hook-up culture.
Yeah, same.
Do you think you have a type?
I've never really had a type per se,
but someone who
believes in old-school love.
Who believes in like,
still opening the door for you
-Who cooks
-I thought you were You love to cook.
-Yeah, but someone doing that for you.
-You want a housekeeper?
[everyone laughs]
-She wants a butler.
-What's your type?
Now that I'm growing up,
I'm realizing that
I don't know, I guess
I'm not that into visuals.
He needs to be really smart,
cannot be a dumb guy.
I hope none of us
want to be with a dumb guy. I mean
I'm not saying dumb guys
don't deserve girls, they do.
-A little bit above average.
-All the dumb guys watching this
And then somebody who can
make you feel safe.
Like, you know, when
the world's falling apart, you feel like,
-oh, this person can save you
-Yeah, that's so important.
-Like smart enough to save you.
-Do looks matter?
Now, I think not really.
-Do looks No.
-[in unison] No
The first night I met Ivor,
he had a Halloween costume on,
and I didn't know what he looked like
and I loved him instantly
and that's how I knew that
Yours was love at first sight,
with no sight.
No literally, love at first sight
with no sight!
-It was like
-Aw!
[Alanna] Girls being girls!
Yeah, it was really cute,
and then I decided
to get some guns out.
They're pellet guns.
They cannot physically harm you,
they're made from gel.
Bitch!
-[Alfia shrieks]
-[Srushti mumbles]
[Alfia screams]
[incoherent chatter]
Guys, see how they target new people.
[incoherent chatter]
I loved just smacking all of them
with those little pellets.
[indistinct chatter]
[Aryaana] I shot Alaviaa so much.
I was just taking out all my frustration
from the last two years. Just
It was great.
[Alaviaa] Srushti was just
hiding behind that door
and Aryaana was just under the chair.
I fired the gun on Srushti
I don't know, all of them actually.
I was hitting all the snakes.
Aryaana!
Aryaana, can I have it once?
I didn't get it once also.
-Why don't we have five?
-If you protect me.
Promise.
-Enough!
-[Aryaana screams]
Dude, that's cheating.
I'll come close.
It was a lot of fun.
For a change, we had fun.
Someone fucking shot me
in my eye
the night before the billboard. Guys!
[seagulls squeal]
[groovy music plays]
Hello.
-Hello.
-Hi, how's it going?
-Nice to meet you all.
-Nice to meet you.
-I'm Aryaana.
-Aryaana.
-Liang.
-Alaviaa.
-Alaviaa. Liang. Nice to meet you.
-Nice to meet you.
-We usually have regular hair.
-Oh, it's okay.
I heard there's a high tide,
you think that's gonna be a problem?
Yeah, that's gonna be a problem,
with the high tide.
-We have to shoot on the beach, right?
-And we have to shoot it today.
-We're just gonna have to
-I think we'll make it work.
This is our first big campaign
as a company.
-Okay. Well
-And I'm just a little anxious.
Well, we're gonna make it work.
[upbeat song plays]
[upbeat song ends]
What are we doing for jewelry?
Like a snake around my neck.
[Alfia] There was this table with all this
fancy jewelry,
beautiful dresses picked out.
Oh my god, those make-up products,
they were so good.
I was glowing.
[Alfia] I felt so confident
and so powerful.
-Why do I look like Tarzan's sister?
-Not at all.
-[Alanna] Srushti!
-[everyone laughs]
It distracts from the make-up.
[Alanna] We had Rachel
and Shushana on our make-up.
Pranita on the styling,
she absolutely nailed it.
[upbeat song plays]
The girls looked like
glowing Greek Goddesses sent from heaven.
[groovy song plays]
[Aryaana] It was the most ideal situation
for me. I'm at the beach,
loving my outfit,
loving my hair and make-up,
and we're shooting
for a fucking billboard.
Are you all kidding me?
Who wants to sit?
-I just feel like they should
-Okay.
-be in front and we can have,
-Okay. Yeah.
maybe have Alfia here.
-Okay.
-Me,
-Aryaana, Srushti.
-Okay.
Ready?
Keep going.
Here we go. Perfect.
Can we switch, please?
Srush, my hair is also here.
But then you still have some here.
You don't have any
-Put your hair at the back.
-No.
Let me just switch with you.
Big deal.
-No, Srush, that is a big deal because
-You're tip-toeing
-I'm way smaller than you.
-But you're tip-toeing
-Still
-Tip-toeing a bit.
Srushti is complaining
that she has to be on that side.
Did you have to put it on the one side
you know I wouldn't want it to be?
And I'm just like,
guys, this is not how shoots work.
Alaviaa looked gorgeous.
Like, she really has
figured out her model face.
Just went like
She just looked like,
she was just like,
just sent from heaven.
-[Liang] We'll do a couple of more here.
-One sec.
[Liang] Okay.
-Do you mind if I do that?
-Can we see it once?
Alfia has been clinging on to me
for dear life. I don't know why.
All the pictures, she's like, squished me.
She didn't leave my shoulder.
You moved your shoulder
-when I'm putting my
-Sorry
Perfect.
-Alanna
-Don't take your hair in front.
-It comes on my face, please.
-Put your head a little bit in.
Why are you clinging to me? Of course,
it's going to come to your face.
I love how everyone's all together.
There you go.
[groovy song ends]
-Alanna, please, you'll move your hair?
-Everybody, close up?
Okay, wait, one second.
-Can I just see it once?
-Yeah.
-Alaviaa's looking so good.
-[Alanna] Mm-hmm.
-Alaviaa, do you want to swap with Alfia?
-[Alaviaa] Yeah.
-I think she's getting uncomfortable
-I think we got This is the look.
-with my hair.
-Okay. This is the look.
I think she felt a little bad,
but I was just like,
listen if you're going to cling on to me,
my hair's going to be in your face
and you need to figure it out.
I was telling you nicely
when you got irritated.
But I felt you were getting uncomfortable,
that's why.
I don't want you to be uncomfortable
because it'll show if you're like
I was sticking to Alanna so that
they couldn't crop me out later.
[in Hindi] I was like,
now you're trapped with me!
[in English] Alright. Closer again.
One, two, three.
[Liang] Got it. Okay. It's good.
-[Liang] We got it.
-I just started to like the pose.
[Alanna] Yeah!
[energetic song plays]
Do you wanna test it out?
It's going to be freezing.
[upbeat song plays]
Okay, three, two, one, let's run.
-Run? Where?
-Ready?
Should we do the Baywatch run?
[Alanna shrieks]
[everyone squeals]
Honestly, I was just really happy
that it finally happened.
Like I said, I'm prone to problems
There were like,
thousand chances that it would go wrong.
And the fact that it happened,
I was pretty happy.
I went to Nobu after.
[upbeat song fades]
-What the hell is this?
-[dramatic music plays]
It looks like some amateur
has done it.
I don't give a damn
about my social media.
This is horrific.
She's doing her own thing.
Sometimes, you're a little over-dramatic.
Am I fighting with you?
He's lost touch.
I didn't take much from you.
It's frustrating.
Where is CollabTribe helping me?
I feel like you still don't have a vision.
This might have been a mistake.
Enough of like, complaining.
-It's a different situation for me.
-That's not my problem.
All of you need to give a fuck!
[dramatic music fades]
[upbeat music plays]
[upbeat music continues]
[upbeat music ends]
