Why don't we start with chi-lan? All right, speaking of creepy, I brought you guys the mythical cryptid The mothman.
We've heard about him since the 1960s.
Well, this video is a really recent one.
It comes from stark county, ohio.

Is that it? It looks like a gargoyle.

Whoa! See? You can even see the wings on that.
And its legs hanging down.
I think this is simply a 2-d animation, Not even 3-d, because it's not even moving.
The legs are not articulated.
The wings aren't moving.
Look at the lighting on the wings.
As it comes in, the wings light up slightly, And then as it goes away from the headlights, It slowly fades out.
So, what's the consensus? I think this would be a fun video to try to re-create.
I kind of like it.
I don't buy this video.
I'm a skeptic of the mothman.
I think it's cg.
I'm leaning towards it being more cg.
I'm really skeptical.
But I'm not willing to just completely "x" it out for now.
I say we put it aside and see what else we have.
So, bill, I hear that you have a really interesting clip.

He's he's on Lori and owen pate were fly-fishing at chopaka lake, Which is in washington state, When their dog started barking at something up on the hillside.
Lori looked up and saw, like, this large figure And grabbed her video camera and started filming, And she recorded this large, brown, bipedal creature Running across the hillside And behind this mound up on the hill.
Ben, why don't you go ahead and roll this clip? See where the bush is? And then there's a small pine tree.
He's he's on wow.
Is it bigfoot? It looks ape-like.
It looks like it has fur.
But I can also see a lot of skeptics looking at this video, Saying, "that's a guy running in a costume.
" How do you feel about the credibility of the filmer? Their attention was drawn to the hillside by their dog.
They were just simply trying to get set up to go fishing.
The dog was barking.
They turn around.
Lori pate then saw something.
Her camera was right there.
She grabbed it and just started rolling.
You know what I like? There have been bigfoot sightings all over the world, But a third of them happen In the northwestern region right in washington.
So to take us there to actually investigate it Would be really great.
What is everyone's feelings on this? It hits all of our criteria.
I say we do it.
It's got the possible breeding grounds of bigfoot.
Yeah, I want to go there.
That's what I'm talking about.
I mean, this is the hotbed for bigfoot sightings.
If we're gonna investigate a bigfoot case, let's go there.
This is one of the better bigfoot videos we've seen, And I've always wanted to do bigfoot, So why not use a video that's actually pretty good.
This is a very famous case.
It sounds like most of us want to go out and do it.
Let's revisit it after we've seen the rest of our videos.

I've actually got some incredible footage of a ufo.
It was captured in canada, And it created a pulsating, glowing light In the middle of a small farm at night.
So here's the footage.

That's pretty cool.
And they're thinking that's a ufo? Yeah.
To me, this just looks like a field That is brightly lit With maybe a landing-field light around above it.
Yeah, I see what you mean.
Now, I thought you guys might say that, So I had a version that's clarified So you can actually make out the shape.

Nasa mission specialist bob oechsler Says to have received the video in the mail mysteriously With some strange writing, And it was only signed by someone called "the guardian.
" This so-called guardian hasn't been heard from since '94.
No one's seen any lights since then, And, you know, that does cause a problem, Because we don't have any more information.
Well, how does everyone feel about it, then? We don't have the videographer.
I mean, he is the initial witness.
He's the one that created this video.
We don't have the official witness.
Jael, if you want to go look at that, Follow up on it, maybe we can look at it at a later time.

Okay, guys, well, now I have one of the most creepy, Incredible stories you'll ever hear.
Jonathan reed says that he was out with his dog suzy hiking.
His dog breaks loose and starts running.
He starts following his dog, and he hears his dog yelping.
When he gets there, he comes upon the scene Of seeing a 4- to 5-foot-tall creature Who has his dog by both jaws and is ripping it apart.
What? In his rage and fear, With this stick that he'd picked up off the ground, He gives it one big swat And hits this creature on the head to the ground.
He's able to pull out a video camera and a still camera He had in his bag and start photographing this thing.
If this is real, this case is awesome.
And he carries it back to his jeep.
When he gets home, he decides to do kind of an examination To see what this thing could be.
Oh, that's creepy.
This is where he hit it on the head with a stick.
He comes back to his house one day And sees vans parked in front.
The creature's gone.
What are your first impressions of the video? I'm so excited that you brought this case to the table.
I've actually heard about this before.
This guy has done radio specials about this, And there are a lot of believers.
He's had millions of followers.
He's written a book.
He's got dvds.
People believe this is really hard evidence Of extraterrestrial beings.
It's a big case.

I went back in and got my camera, And that's when I started taking a picture.

So, then you guys aren't bigfoot hunters or anything.

What is your gut telling you these creatures are? My gut says it's bigfoot.
It's just you know, it's sasquatch.
It didn't run like a man.
When a man runs, you know, They're up on the ball of their feet.
This thing was just kind of striding on his heels.
So you're saying its speed was unlike a human, That a human couldn't move at that pace.

And for this experiment, we're putting austin In the kind of costume available to any would-be hoaxer.

That is austin with his costume on.
You can see that this actually looks pretty similar.
That costume looks really good up there.
In the second part of the pates' video, The creature appears to grow by about 8 inches in height.
One of the theories for this Is that bigfoot was actually carrying a baby Which then climbed up onto his shoulders.
At the end of his run, austin will remove his mask To see if this will replicate the change in height We see in the video.

With that mask on, It gets really hot as you're breathing.
It's hard to run through this.

I think this could possibly explain the growth At the end of the pates' video.
It does really look similar, guys, When you're comparing the original to what we shot.
I think this one's it.
While we have been able to replicate the video With some mixed results There's so many eyewitness accounts Of a bigfoot-type creature in the area That it does warrant a nighttime investigation, Especially considering that these are nocturnal creatures.
I'm gonna be heading over to the airport And jumping in the spotter plane and sweeping the area While staying in contact with the guys on the ground.
We'll have a thermal-imaging camera, And hopefully we'll find evidence Of a cryptid in the area.
Austin and I are setting up for the night investigation.

We could be dealing with coyotes, black bears, And at this altitude, we could even be Chasing after grizzly bears right now.
Honestly, I think that it was moving way too fast for us.

What is that? Well, how did it go? Did you find him? The believers of the footage said that no human Could run as fast as that figure did in such rugged terrain.
So what we did is we mapped out the exact same course, And I tried to run against the video To see how fast I could make it.
The figure ran in 10.
6 seconds.
I was able to do it in 9.
6, Which shows it's not a supernatural speed.
Anybody could do it.
But we then upped the ante, Put austin in a bigfoot costume, and had him repeat the test.
Wow! I mean, that's a pretty close match, I think.
That's exactly the same.
If you didn't point it out, I honestly wouldn't be able To tell the difference between the two.
That's what we go for.
So we're pretty convinced that we were able to replicate that video pretty well.
So, the challenge that we had was that we had eyewitnesses That claim that they thought they saw a bigfoot.
We thought that it was best that we would stay And do our own nighttime investigation.
I took to the air, and I circled overhead.
I had a thermal camera.
And it was then I spotted a large heat signature That wasn't very far from where austin and chi-lan were.
Really? So, chi-lan and I are on the run, looking.
He's telling us, giving us fixed locations Of where whatever he's seeing on the thermal imager is.
Unfortunately, apparently, we were a little too loud, 'cause we were never able to actually catch up Or catch whatever he was seeing.
However, we did find some pretty cool evidence.
Wow.
No way.
It's a bigfoot track.
Now, this thing that we were able to find on our night investigation While we were doing the sweeps we sent off to dr.
Thomas wake, And he is the director Of zooarchaeology laboratory at ucla.
He looks at that print, and he says He's not really sure what it is.
It looks like it's a partial print of something, But definitely too small to be from sasquatch.
What are your overall impressions of these witnesses? Do you feel they're credible? I don't believe that they perpetrated the hoax, Because they really, really felt like bigfoot was up there.
I think the videographers were hoaxed.
Bigfoot on the video is fake.
I think this particular video is a fake, But the bigfoot phenomenon is real.
It seems as if this particular video is fake.
But this is not to say bigfoot does not exist, 'cause he does.

Blood, tissue everywhere.
The remains of my dog Were nothing but white ash on the ground.
Hit the ground, and it was just ashes.
And so I didn't think.
I didn't have any logic.
I just wanted to kill it.
So what did you do? So I hit it as hard as I could with this branch.
And right at that point, I could see that, behind those evergreens, There was a black-looking shape.
And it was 3 feet off the ground.
Nothing underneath it.
Didn't make any sense.
I tried to find logic in the moment.
I couldn't find any.
Tell me where the point of it was.
Probably about where you are.

It was 9 1/2 feet long, What led up to this footage that we saw? I literally circled the body on the ground And brought the camera around, And I had the camera down almost between my legs, And the reason was is I kept falling down.
I kept throwing up over the top of the camera, Over the side of the camera.
When did you decide that, "I'm taking this with me"? I thought, "what I have imagined, it cannot be true.
" And so I picked it up, and I drove back, And then I brought it in my house, Put it on the floor, And got the video camera and photographed it.

You know what I like? There have been bigfoot sightings all over the world, But a third of them happen In the northwestern region right in washington.
So to take us there to actually investigate it Would be really great.

It's got the possible breeding grounds of bigfoot.

I mean, he is the initial witness.

He's able to pull out a video camera and a still camera He had in his bag and start photographing this thing.
If this is real, this case is awesome.
And he carries it back to his jeep.
When he gets home, he decides to do kind of an examination To see what this thing could be.

This is where he hit it on the head with a stick.
He comes back to his house one day And sees vans parked in front.
The creature's gone.

So we're pretty convinced that we were able to replicate that video pretty well.
So, the challenge that we had was that we had eyewitnesses That claim that they thought they saw a bigfoot.
We thought that it was best that we would stay And do our own nighttime investigation.
I took to the air, and I circled overhead.
I had a thermal camera.
And it was then I spotted a large heat signature That wasn't very far from where austin and chi-lan were.
Really? So, chi-lan and I are on the run, looking.
He's telling us, giving us fixed locations Of where whatever he's seeing on the thermal imager is.
Unfortunately, apparently, we were a little too loud, 'cause we were never able to actually catch up Or catch whatever he was seeing.
However, we did find some pretty cool evidence.

It's a bigfoot track.
Now, this thing that we were able to find on our night investigation While we were doing the sweeps we sent off to dr.
Thomas wake, And he is the director Of zooarchaeology laboratory at ucla.

It looks like it's a partial print of something, But definitely too small to be from sasquatch.

" And so I picked it up, and I drove back, And then I brought it in my house, Put it on the floor, And got the video camera and photographed it.
