but it's literally been
one messy, magical year
for our ladies and their love story,
but their search
for the one isn't over yet.
It all started at last year's
50th Annual Magnolia Ball.
And now, hm,
here we are the day of the 51st.
Remember, it's kind of
a big thing around here.
These ladies have come
a long way since the last one,
and there's no stoppin' them now.

Olivia said no to Tori's dream,
and now, she's about to buy
her own with her mom.
[crowd cheering]

Mya Jo traded in high school drama,
and now, she's going to--

LaShoundra divorced her hubby
only to fall back in love with him.
And now, well, things are
about to get pretty complicated.

she went from pining

to thinking she may have found the one.

I went to New York.
We had a long talk, reconnected,
and we've been inseparable ever since.

of who I wanna spend
the rest of my life with.

CONSULTANT:

It absolutely completes the dress.

ABBY: He is the most
perfect southern gentleman.
CONSULTANT: Aw.

CONSULTANT:
Now, where will the wedding be?
- So, it's actually
gonna be kind of destination.
- It's gonna be so fun.
[crosstalk]
- That's amazing.
- Yes, little bougie.
CONSULTANT: Ooh.
BRIT: We love the bougie.
[laughter]
KALA: We love bougie.
BRIT: Might as well
match the dress with that.
GRACE: That's right.
- Right?
GRACE: Absolutely.
- You know, I think--

ABBY: Hopefully.
BRIT: True.

[laughter]
BRIT: He ain't leavin'. He's stuck.

I'm so proud of you
and where you are, all grown up.

ABBY:

[Grace gasps]
- [crying] It's beautiful.
KALA: My gosh.
BRIT: Let's make a toast.

ABBY: Cheers.
GRACE: Yay!
BRIT: You look stunning.
ABBY: Thank you.
NARRATOR:
But even if you think you've met the one,
it doesn't mean temptation
won't come knocking on your door.

Now, from the bride-to-be
to the bride that once was, LaShoundra,
who finally realized that the man
she thought was the wrong one
was actually the right one.
Many, many therapy sessions,
lots of family time,
and occasional date nights.

LASHOUNDRA:
I haven't told my family or friends
that Kendell and I
have decided to rekindle.
Some may be excited,
others may be disappointed,
but I know I can't keep this secret
from my family and friends forever.
I hope I'm makin' the right decision.

[both laugh]
- Is it real sweet?
You just put a lotta sugar in it?
I mean, it's not--
- I don't use sugar.

and Kendell is--
- What's goin' on with Kendell?
- I mean, he's fine.
It's just that he and I,
we've been secretly dating.
- I didn't see that comin'.
- Well, [sighs] um,
I'm really considerin'
gettin' back with him.
- Are you sure Kendell's ready for that?

Well, I'm glad you felt, finally--
[chuckles]
- I know.
- comfortable enough to come tell me.
Things do happen and--
- Mm.
- everything is alright.

[laughs]

Now, while most men aren't generally known
for being intuitive
when it comes to women's needs,
there are the ones,
ex-boyfriends, in particular,
who you haven't seen
or spoken to in over six weeks,
who seem to be equipped with a rather
well-developed sixth sense
enabling them to detect
when a woman is, actually,
happy without them.
[knocks on door]
- Hey.
- Hey, how are you?
- I'm good.
I was in the neighborhood.
It's been a while.
- Yeah.
NARRATOR:
Abby, you finally met the one.
Remember how hard that was?
- Figured I'd stop by.
NARRATOR:
Come on, let's not blow this.

[narrator groans]
[muffled chatter]

Push it shut!
Oh, boy.

TREVOR:
It's been a while.
Figured I'd stop by.
NARRATOR:
What do you do
when the one that you
wanted to be the one,
but then turned out to be
the one who broke your heart,
is now the one
that shows up at your door?
ABBY:
I don't know.
music stops ♪
NARRATOR:
While Abby 2.0
may have temporarily
kicked her bad boy habit,
doesn't mean she's not wondering,
"What if this is the one time
things could be different?"
Now over to Mya Jo,
who's been spending a lot of time
focusing on the one
that matters the most,
herself,
by saving up for her next big adventure,
sans all the Nick
and Baylee Fairhope drama.

The voices in my head ♪
Gettin' kinda loud ♪
And I don't wanna deal with it ♪
MYA JO:
Coming back to Fairhope this year,
I assumed everything would be
the same as it always was,
but turns out, everything had changed.
I've definitely learned a lot this year.
Not only about love,
but also friendship,
and I know in my heart
that now is the time
for me to move forward
to the next chapter of my life.
- Do you have everything packed up
or, like, are you ready?
MYA JO:
I have everything packed.
FAITH:
Ugh, so bittersweet.
You leaving.
- I know.
- It's like the last moments we have.
- It's just crazy.
'Til you come see me in Miami.
- Mm-hm.
Are you nervous?
- Oh, it's gonna be,
[sighs]
it's gonna be a huge change.
But, you know, change is good,
change is necessary,
and I just feel I've outgrown Fairhope.
- Yeah.
- As amazing as this summer was,
it was very much an eye-opener,
um, of what I want,
who I wanna be,
who I wanna be friends with,
and, like, you knew how hurt
I was about the Nick thing.
- I feel like mine and his conversation
about boundaries in our relationship,
it's, like, you're kinda,
like, overstepping.
MYA JO:
Well, what do you mean?
- He slept in your bed and then
look where the relationship is at now.
- Because his brother died
a couple months ago,
and we were best friends.
But whatever Nick's comfortable with
with our friendship,
we'll handle that but--
- Well, then, he just
won't be friends with you.
MYA JO: I'm really not
the type to hold grudges.
So, I think as frustrated
as I was with Nick this past year,
you can't erase 10 years of friendship.
So, if he wants space,
I'll give him space.
But when he's ready to talk again,
I will always be a text
or phone call away.
I'm so excited for the Magnolia Ball.
Like, it's gonna be so much fun,
and I'll always love the Magnolia Ball.
'Cause, you know, you get to see everyone
that you haven't seen in a minute.
FAITH:
Mm-hm.
- Which means that I might see Nick.
- Oh, my gosh, I saw him and Baylee.
- Where?
- At the farmers' market the other day.
They were, like, over by,
like, the flower stand,
really just showin' off their PDA
for everyone and their grannies to see.
MYA JO:
'Member the last time I-- we ever texted,
he texted me and he was like,
"Uh, Baylee's movin' in with me.
I have to respect her
and we can't be friends anymore."
And you know what I said?
"Okay, cool."
So, then, we just--
- Good.
- I haven't talked to Nick in months.
Yeah.
- So, do you have your flight booked?
- Yeah, girl, I'm actually leavin'
right after the Magnolia Ball.
- Do you have your dress?
- Yeah. Do you have yours?
- Yes.
- What color?
- Green.
- Twinsies.
[both laughing]
- Twinnin' 'em.
NARRATOR:
As Mya Jo put up a good front,
pretending she wasn't gonna
miss Fairhope, her friends,
or even Nick,
Abby and her girlfriends
were toasting her engagement
in true Fairhope fashion.
'Cause I'm happy in my skin ♪
Never thought it'd feel like this ♪
- Hello!
- Hi!
GRACE: You made it.
- Oh, my God.
- Hey, I'm Britney.
ABBY: This looks so good.
No, thank y'all for doing this.
KALA: Yeah, you're welcome.
GRACE: We're celebrating.
- This is so cute.
GRACE: We are so celebrating you.
So excited to celebrate you.
- I feel so special.
FRIENDS:
You are special.
[group chattering]
NARRATOR: Now have you ever
noticed the power a woman has
over her single girlfriends
when she has a sparkly diamond
on her left ring finger?
It's as if her years of aimless
and reckless dating is forgotten about,
and all of a sudden,
she becomes the authority
on the subject of finding the one.
And now, her friends
are jotting down mental notes
as Abby's giving a detailed TED Talk
about how she cracked the code.
ABBY: Y'all are so sweet for doin' this.
BRIT: Oh, my gosh.
- Aw, your friends-- You're so blessed--
- I am.
- So loved.
GRACE:
to have all these beautiful friends.
- Abby, I love the story
of how you and Ben met.
- Yes, please tell us again.
GRACE: Yeah!
- It gives us single girls,
like, some hope.
There's some good ones out there.
[laughter]
Just sayin'.
Just sayin'.
ABBY: There are.
Um, so I had just
moved up there for a job.
dramatic music playing ♪
Like, it was, like,
my first day takin' the subway
and was honestly just lost and confused
and my metro card wouldn't work.
[subway rushing]
Then, all of a sudden, behind me,
I just hear this southern drawl,
and I turned around
and it's just, like, this handsome man.
BEN:
Excuse me, uh, let me help you with that.
ABBY:
He offered me his metro card,
but we got onto the subway
and actually got off on the same stop.
He then asked if we could get lunch
and we just ended up spending
the rest of the afternoon together.
And a month later, we moved in together.
BRIT:
Stop. What?
[crosstalk, laughter]
That is somethin' you,
like, see in a movie.
[excited chatter]
- I know, I know.
Like, completely--
KALA: I feel like
that never happens in New York.
- But, not everything is
always perfect, obviously.
We were dating for a while,
and he was talking about marriage,
and I just kind of panicked,
and I blew it,
and, uh left him,
and came back here
and kinda fell into some old tendencies.
BRIT:
Ugh, no.
[group laughing in background]
GRACE: That again?
BRIT:
Anyways.
ABBY [laughing]:
We all know how that went.
[crosstalk]
And, I mean,
but after then, ya know,
I dated some other people,
and I, um, you know, went on a date
with that Ashton guy and thought like,
"Oh, my gosh, this guy
is, like, great and nice,
and kind of everything that Ben was."
But, like, after spending
some time with him,
just realized, like, that,
that Ben was my person and--
KALA: Aw.
GRACE: He was always
in the back of your mind.
ABBY:
He was it for me.
And so, I just
went to go get him, basically.
FRIEND: Aw!
- That's amazing.
ABBY:
And thankfully, he was receptive.
[laughter]
Like--
KALA: That would've been awkward.
- I-- [laughs] That, that would've been--
- That would've been bad.
[laughter, crosstalk]
- So, I don't wanna
bring up a sore subject,
but does Trevor know you're engaged?
- I honestly don't care.
- Mm! Good for you.
- Yeah.
- Onto bigger and better things.
ABBY:
Absolutely.
Oh, my gosh, I'm getting married.
[group cheering and laughing]

NARRATOR:
While Abby was celebrating
her upcoming wedding to the one,
LaShoundra was positive.
I mean, really positive
that another one might be on the way.
Surprise.
upbeat music playing ♪
NARRATOR: A lot's happened
in Olivia's life since we saw her last.
After she decided Tori was not the one,
she went into business with her mother
and bought the iconic Fairhope Inn.
- Cheers.
[crowd cheers]
NARRATOR:
And Claiborne, well,
she hasn't quite decided on the one yet.
- Nope.
[duck quacking]
NARRATOR: But that doesn't
mean she's not still looking.
- Have ya found a date
for the Magnolia Ball?
- I might just go solo
because there's supposed to be
a lotta really good-lookin' men there.
Takin' a date's like takin'
a ham sandwich to a banquet.
[both laugh]
NARRATOR:
In the meantime,
LaShoundra's life
has gotten a little complicated.
So, now she's wondering one thing,
who was gonna be the first one
she told her big secret to
that wouldn't blab about it.
DAWN:
So, what's goin' on, girl?
- There's a lot I need to tell you.
Somethin' juicy.
- M'kay.
- Juicy like gifts.
- Okay.
- It's a blessin'.
- Oh, it's a blessin'?
- Mm-hm. [laughs]
- Okay, okay.
- Well, blessin's are good.
- Okay.
- So, just remember.

- I'm pregnant.
[LaShoundra laughs]

You took a pregnancy test?
- Yeah, two.
[both laughing]

[both laughing]

- Kendell.
- Oh. Now, that's surprising.
[both laughing]

Okay, so, how do you feel?
- Um,
I don't know.

[laughs]

- You are the first person

- [laughs]

[both laughing]

ABBY:
I think what I love most about Ben
is the way that he looks at me,
and the way that he listens
to me when I speak.
And how he wants
to spend quality time with me.
Yeah, he's proof that
my picker's not completely broken.
I mean, it may have just gotten
a little finicky over the years
[laughs]
but he's just so simple
and it's so refreshing.

ASHTON [singing]:

I lost sight ♪
NARRATOR:
And, yes, that is Ashton
who was the one before the one.
There's Trevor who's so not the one.

[crowd cheers and applauds]

MYA JO:
So, I leave tonight.
DEVIN: Miami, huh?
MYA JO: Miami.
FAITH: Are you excited?
MYA JO: Yeah.
Somethin' just clicked in my brain
and was like, "Go."
- Yeah. [chuckles]
CIARA: For sure.
FAITH:
Maybe it's, like, a sign.
Maybe it'll be good.
- Exactly.
- You know, I'm 21.
Nothin' holdin' me back. I'm single.
- But I talked to Kirk the other day.
- I know. We talked a little bit.
It seems like he's been livin' it up.
FAITH: Yeah.
- What, is he in Seattle right now?
- Yes, the tour. He's all over the place.
I feel like all the time.
- He's meant for that life.
- I know. He is. I know.
- But I'm just really grateful
for this past year.
I feel like it really opened my eyes
to, like, how grateful I am for home,
and how home will always be home.
Fairhope never changes--
CIARA: Mm.
- and, like, this will always
be where I'm meant to be,
but it doesn't mean I can't
go out and explore, right?
- Exactly.
- Don't cry,
but I'm about to have
to leave to catch my flight.
- I'm gonna miss you.
DEVIN: I know.
MYA JO: Don't cry.

- [softly] Yeah.
I love you guys, but I do have to go.

Yeah. [groans]
CIARA: Aw.
MYA JO: I've made so many friends
over the years in Fairhope,
and I think I'd be lyin' if I said
I wasn't hoping to see Nick one last time.
I guess God had a different plan for me.
Don't miss me too much.
- Oh, no promises.
- I'ma try not to.
It'll be boring without you.
MYA JO:
And I definitely do realize
that making a whole new friend group
in a new city is gonna be hard,
but I know it's time for me to move on.
NARRATOR: While Mya Jo
said goodbye to her childhood friends
to catch her one-way flight
into the unknown,
Claiborne was introducing her new friend
to, well, an old familiar one.
- Well, do I see Darcy standin' there?
- Miss Claiborne!
- How are you doin', girlfriend?
- Good.
- I'd like you to meet Mr. Dick Scott.
He's a good friend of mine
and we call him Poppy.
- Hello.
- Hi, Poppy.
NARRATOR: Now there's one
more thing I need you to remember.
LaShoundra has yet
to tell Kendell one minor detail.
KENDELL: Hello, ladies.
- Oh!
Oh, hey, Kendell.
LASHOUNDRA: Hey, Kendell.
KENDELL:
How y'all doin'?
- Good, how are you?
- I'm good.
DAWN:
I'm gonna let you guys catch up.
Kendell, good to see you.
- You're leavin'?
KENDELL:
Alright, good seeing you, too, Dawn.
LASHOUNDRA:
After Kaden was born,
Kendell and I often spoke
about havin' a second child.
So.
- What's up?
LASHOUNDRA:
And here we are, with child.
I hope he's just as excited as I am
because he's such an amazin' father.
I think we need to talk.

She's drivin' me home.

to the restroom or something--

that she'd be a minute.

[Trevor chuckles]
