The Summit (2024) s01e09 Episode Script

The Final Checkpoint

1
MANU:
Two days left.
PUNKIN:
Y'all keep pushing.
MANU:
Five remaining
and almost $750,000 at stake.
- AMY: She's got a yellow bag.
- JEANNIE: Oh, my God.
MANU: Last time,
the mountain's keeper
demanded that a fateful choice
be made.
THERRON:
"Whoever touched this bag first
"has the power to eliminate
someone immediately,
sending them and their money
off the mountain."
Dusty.
DUSTY: Making it this
far was not a surprise.
Getting voted out in this slimy
of a manner is a surprise.
I don't think a leader
would make that call.
I wouldn't be able
to sleep at night.
PUNKIN:
I was not expecting that at all.
MANU:
With so few left
I could have a target
on my back.
MANU:
and alliances shifting
I don't want to go home.
MANU: finding out
who has your back
proved difficult.
AMY:
Coming, guys. Sorry. (grunts)
Amy can't walk through the snow,
and I'm like, "Girl,
I got to deal with that
tomorrow, too?"
BECKYLEE:
Me, Punkin and Therron
are a-a tight-knit group,
and we're just bringing Nick
along as a loyal number.
MANU:
Raise your hand
if you'd like to vote Amy
off the mountain.
I have busted my ass
like every one of you.
I deserve to go up
that mountain.
- MANU: Tonight
- We got to get out of here.
MANU: after being
evacuated to safer elevation
- THERRON: Oh, God.
- MANU: day 12
was lost to the storm.
BECKYLEE: You're so
close, you can just taste it.
- (thunder crashes)
- All you want to do
is get to that finish line.
MANU:
The pressure is on
to reach the final
checkpoint camp.
BECKYLEE:
Where even is camp?
JEANNIE:
Let's keep going.
PUNKIN:
I cannot feel my feet.
(shouts)
NICK: We got to go
up that whole thing.
MANU:
It's day 13.
- (Beckylee shouts)
- (Nick grunts)
MANU: The mountain
isn't pulling any punches.
I'm literally terrified
right now.
MANU: and neither
are the final five.
BECKYLEE:
I'm really scared, Jeannie.
If he gets a second
to vote you out,
he will, I promise you that.
I was not gunning for you.
Once a name is said,
it catches like wildfire.
NICK:
You're lying to somebody.
You're Dennis 2.0.
- What?
- MANU: The climbers
will be tested as they fight
to claim their share
of nearly $750,000.
NICK: I can't do it. No,
I can't, I can't, I can't.
(screams)
(wind whistling)

(Jeannie panting)
- PUNKIN: Jeannie, you good?
- JEANNIE: Yeah.
JEANNIE:
Now that Amy's gone,
I'll be in the back,
so I feel like I'm gonna have
to keep up a lot more.
But I trust that Nick
and Therron have my back,
so I'm gonna stick with them.
- NICK: How we doing, Jeannie?
- PUNKIN (softly): Oh, my God.
JEANNIE:
Okay.
(Jeannie sighs)
MANU:
Having waited out the storm,
the group's departure
from checkpoint eight
means their sights are set
once more upon the summit.
They have their work
cut out for them, though,
facing rugged terrain,
higher altitudes,
deep snow and punishing winds.
- THERRON: You good? The wind's blowing.
- JEANNIE: Can you help me?
- THERRON: Yeah, yeah, hold on.
- Yeah. It's that wind.
- THERRON: Yeah.
- JEANNIE: Ugh.
THERRON:
Ooh.
PUNKIN:
Ouch.
- NICK: Super windy.
- BECKYLEE: Sup very careful.
NICK:
Ooh, whoo.
JEANNIE:
(shouts) Oh, (bleep).
That is huge. Watch out.
(panting)
PUNKIN: I've been working with
Beckylee almost since day one,
so I think Beckylee
would be great
to make it to the summit with.
It's so many sand flies in here.
- Yeah, I know.
- I feel solid with Therron,
I feel solid with you.
I just think that would be
such a satisfying ending
- for me and you.
- Yes
PUNKIN:
Yes.
Nick has to go.
I think Nick
is very sneaky and shady,
so I just got to get Nick out
before he comes for me.
- Come on, Jeannie.
- Coming, guys.
(Jeannie shouts)
THERRON:
Oh, you good, Jeannie?
JEANNIE:
Yeah.
BECKYLEE:
Wow.
NICK:
My calves are on fire.
JEANNIE:
I'm feeling it now.
NICK:
At this point, I trust Therron,
I trust Jeannie
and I trust Beckylee.
That's who I want to go
to the summit with me.
If there ever was
a tough decision to make
between keeping me,
Therron or Becky,
Punkin would kick me out
of this game,
and that worries me.
So the best decision for my game
would be to take out Punkin.
- (wind blustering)
- (whooping)
NICK:
Damn.
There's a note.
PUNKIN:
Ugh, a note.
(Therron grunts)
PUNKIN: "Blocking
your path to the summit
is this overhanging cliff."
- (Jeannie grunts)
- NICK: Wow.

"In order to pass,
you must defy gravity
by ascending straight
to the top."
THERRON: We can only
get to our next checkpoint
by going up this cliff.
Where is the elevator?
Where's the escalator?
So who's going first?
- I would
- Y'all two, then me and Beck?
- Okay, that works.
- That work?
JEANNIE:
I don't mind going last.
I'd like to watch a little more.
- PUNKIN: Okay.
- Seems complicated.
But I don't mind.
I want to do it by myself.
I didn't want
to hold anybody back.
I'm the oldest, they're younger.
And I just needed
to do this by myself.
THERRON:
We got this. Okay.
Ready?
- THERRON: Yeah.
- Let's try it.
- BECKYLEE: Stand up, Therron, and move it up.
- NICK: Nice, Therron.
- PUNKIN: How are you doing that?
- BECKYLEE: There you go.
THERRON:
I don't know.
JEANNIE:
You got it!
THERRON:
So I go
step, move the orange,
sit, move the grey.
BECKYLEE:
There you go, Punkin.
NICK: Nice, Therron.
One after the other, man.
Ooh, this hurting my arms,
though, baby.
(grunts)
(panting)
BECKYLEE:
Nice job, T.
(grunting)
- THERRON: How you going?
- PUNKIN: This is tougher than
it looks.
Look, Therron,
it's a rainbow on the rocks.
- THERRON: My calling card.
- (chuckles)
THERRON:
It's really hard to decide
who I would take to a final two
because I've been working
with Nick and Beckylee,
but over the last couple days,
you know, me and Punkin
have gotten really close,
and I think there's just
something about having
two queer Black people
be at the final.
How you going?
- Trying.
- (grunts)
THERRON: Me and Punkin's
connection just started recently,
but she's a straight shooter,
and she says her word
is her word.
And I know that if she had
the option to take me,
she would.
BECKYLEE:
keep going, Therron.
- Almost there.
- (panting)
NICK: Nice, T. You're
right there, man.
(Therron grunts)
We made it up to the top, baby.
(Punkin grunts)
JEANNIE:
Come on. You're almost there.
You're right there, P.
(grunting)
(sighs) We made it.
- THERRON: It was hard.
- That was hard.

BECKYLEE:
I don't understand how to
NICK:
Here.
Just-just pull the line.
So, like, watch.
- Oh, okay, I got it. I got it.
- Okay.
(both grunting)
THERRON: So, tonight's
vote. What are you thinking?
PUNKIN: I know right
now Beckylee is on our side.
I feel like you,
- Jeannie and Nick
- (grunts)
would not say my name.
Nick would say my name,
and so would Jeannie.
Me and Nick do have a final two,
so I have to look out for him.
He and I think alike,
and he's a great strategist.
But also, I really want
to work with Punkin.
You know Jeannie would
say your name, girl.
That's what I'm saying, so
THERRON:
Yeah, so we vote for Jeannie.
PUNKIN:
You think Jeannie or Nick?
At the end of the day,
I want to be at the top two.
(straining, panting)
- How you doing?
- This is hard.
Yeah. Try to get
a good step up, Beck.
I'm all twisted.
(panting)
Me, too.
(Beckylee groans)
I'm supposed to be
working with Nick.
I feel like he trusts me.
But the problem is,
I have been feeding Nick
a load of crap for two days.
Punkin.
- She should be next.
- BECKYLEE: I'm open to it.
Oh, Lord.
NICK:
Come on, man.
BECKYLEE:
Nick was gunning for Punkin,
Punkin's gunning for Nick,
and I want
to go to the summit
with Punkin,
not Nick.
(sighs):
Okay. I'm all twisted.
- Me, too.
- BECKYLEE: Me and Nick worked together
to get a lot of big names
out of the game.
So I realized
he's a dangerous player,
and I have a very real chance
NICK:
Nice, Beck.
to make a huge move
and get him out.
Holy moly.
So I need him to trust me
until we get to the vote.
- That was hard as hell.
- Yeah, that was
a lot harder than
I thought it was gonna be.

- Hey, Jeannie.
- Yeah?
If you have trouble
moving your bottom hand,
grab the black rope
and pull it to your bottom hand.
JEANNIE:
Okay.
From day one,
Nick has been
so supportive of me.
Oh, my God, this looks so hard.
So now I feel like
there's pressure now.
(straining)
(quietly):
Nice and tight.
I feel like not only do I want
to accomplish my dreams,
but I want his dreams
to come true.
It'll take me a while,
but I'll get up there,
And I'm like, you know what?
(straining)
I feel like
his path and my path crossed,
and we need to make this summit
together.
(grunting, straining)
I can't believe I did it.
- (whoops) Let's go, Jeannie!
- Come on, Jeannie!
(Punkin whoops)
BECKYLEE:
Be careful.
JEANNIE:
Damn, it's You keep sliding.
(Beckylee groans)
If you want to go ahead of me
- No, you got it.
- I feel bad.
- Okay.
- Take bigger steps if you can.
THERRON: Or step in the
steps Nick's already made.
JEANNIE:
Okay.
- NICK: Get them heels in, Jeannie.
- JEANNIE: Yeah.
NICK: I'm not letting
Jeannie not make it
up the mountain.
That's not an option for me.
- THERRON: This is straight up.
- JEANNIE: Whoa.
NICK: Jeannie has
been basically my rock
since day one.
I'm riding with Jeannie
and Therron to the end,
and if someone has to go home,
it's gonna have to be Punkin.
(sighs) We got to go up
that whole thing.
PUNKIN:
Yep, it looks like it.

- JEANNIE: Oh, my God.
- (Therron chuckles)
NICK:
What on earth is this?
- Another note? - Yep.
- Yep.
BECKYLEE:
"You've reached 'King's Leap, '
"a deadly crack
in this mighty mountain
"with a terrifying drop below.
"One single rope
and nerves of steel
- are all you have to get across."
- What?
BECKYLEE:
"Face your fear,
"or say goodbye to the summit.
The clock is ticking."
NICK: Everyone knows
I am terrified of heights.
JEANNIE:
Oh, my God.
(both groan)
NICK: I feel like we've
gotten higher and higher,
and the obstacles keep getting
harder and harder.
We've had at least
two ropes, a bridge,
stepping stone,
something on every obstacle.
Now I look across,
and I see
the highest one of
the adventure,
and there's one rope
from a mountain peak
to a mountain peak.
I have no idea what they're
expecting me to do here.
(echoing groan)
(wind whistling)

(grunts) Geez.
(sighs)
I'm not super confident
about this.
I don't even know
where to grab on
when I get over
to cross to the other rock.
So I've no idea
what I'm about to do.
I'm not looking forward
to this one.
You got this, Nick!
All right, let's do this thing.
(grunts)
(breathing heavily)
There you go.
NICK: When I get too worried,
I feel like I'll get paralyzed.
So I'm trying not
to think about it too much.
I'm trying to just see the rope,
and I'm gonna do everything
that I can not to look down.
(breathing heavily)
- (bleep)
- Your arms okay?
NICK: I cannot show
that I'm struggling.
If I fail this obstacle,
there's gonna be
a target on my back.
- Am I halfway?
- THERRON: Yes.
PUNKIN:
Yeah, more than halfway.
(groans, screams)
- No.
- (groaning)
(bleep) - THERRON:
Nick, kick your other foot up.
PUNKIN:
There you go.
Yo, I need
some freaking help, man.
(Nick groaning)
You just got to lean back
and go.
Nick, you can do this!
(groaning)
I can't get my arms up, y'all.
I can't. I can't.
What am I doing out here, man?
What am I doing out here, man?
I can't, I can't.
- (groans) No, no.
- PUNKIN and THERRON: Nick!
(cries out)
(wind whistling)
THERRON:
Nick, you can do this!
(groaning)
I can't get my arms up, y'all.
I can't, I can't,
I can't. I can't.
- (groans) No. No.
- PUNKIN: Nick!
(cries out)
(wind whistles)

MANU:
On King's Leap,
any fall requires a reset
- back to the starting cliff
- (groans)
where Nick must
confront his fears
- all over again.
- (sighs)
NICK:
Self-doubt set in,
and I was sitting there,
terrified.
I don't know
how I'm about to get across.
Man, I can barely feel my hands.
JEANNIE: Come on, Nick.
You're a big inspiration for me.
Nick is having some self-doubt.
I look up to Nick,
so it really hit home to me.
Out here,
if you don't dig deep,
you'll regret it.
- (Nick groans)
- JEANNIE: Come on, Nick!
NICK:
I can't help but feel like
this reminds me of
college baseball.
My dream was
to make it to the pros.
After college, I ended up
not getting a shot to play.
- (Nick grunts)
- Come on, Nick. You got this.
- (grunting)
- THERRON: Come on.
(groans) (bleep)
NICK:
I always came up just short,
and, uh, you know,
that was just the end.
I just wasn't good enough.
The past taught me,
really, to never give up.
When your back's
against the wall,
you still have
to keep moving forward.
(shouts)
I didn't come this far
to come up short.
(grunting)
(bleep)
THERRON:
You literally are, like,
four scoots away.
- Final stretch.
- (groans)
(grunting)
This is crazy.
He's a college baseball player.
How am I gonna do this?
I work at Trader Joe's.
(grunting continues)
Man, that was the hardest thing
I've ever done.
THERRON:
This is really high.
This is probably
the hardest thing we've done.
I'm literally terrified
right now.
(screams)
NICK:
Only think about the rope.
Okay.
Facing your fear of heights
every single day is hard.
It does not get easier.
But what matters is
that I'm showing people
that if you put your mind to it,
you can do it.
PUNKIN:
There you go.
NICK:
Nice, T.
THERRON:
You got this, Therron.
NICK: We'll let you
know when you're close.
You got this! (screams)
Almost there.
Almost there. Almost there.
Almost there. Almost there.
(panting)
- PUNKIN: Almost there, Therron.
- NICK: You're almost there.
NICK:
Nice, Therron!
Once again,
I conquered my (bleep) fear.
It's been heights after
heights after heights,
and I think that I'm ready
to conquer this mountain.
Y'all got this!
Don't look down!
Come on, Jeannie!
(squawking)
(bleep) Oh, (bleep).
NICK:
You got it, Jeannie.
- THERRON: Let's go, Jeannie!
- NICK: Come on, Jeannie!
JEANNIE:
My adrenaline is going.
My head hurts,
my heart's racing.
I feel sick to my stomach,
and I'm just tired
of feeling like this.
I'm so scared!
- NICK: No.
- THERRON: Don't be scared. You're good.
Please, guys, root me on.
- I need to hear your voice!
- THERRON: You got this, Jeannie!
- NICK: You got it, Jeannie.
- BECKYLEE: Come on, Jeannie.
(screaming)
- Keep screaming if that's what you need. Yes.
- (screaming)
NICK: You're moving
really well, Jeannie.
(yelling)
NICK: Nice, Jeannie.
Right there. All the way.
- Get as close to the wall.
- BECKYLEE: Nice job.
You literally look
like a superhero right now.
(panting)
JEANNIE: For me, the
faster I moved, the better.
I didn't want to hang out
in that rope too long
'cause I knew
I would psych myself out.
I don't think
I've ever experienced
fear like that ever before.
- You made it.
- JEANNIE: Yeah.
- Better than me.
- Yeah.
- Thank you.
- NICK: It was the toughest one.
(wind whistling)
This is this is terrifying.
I feel a little nauseous.
- This is disgusting.
- THERRON: Don't look down
before you go. That
I can tell you that.
I mean, the-the adrenaline
is addicting, but
you can only push
your body so much.
I'm nauseated.
Makes you want to throw up.
I hate this. I hate this.
I hate this.
Holy moly. Holy moly.
PUNKIN:
All right, Beckylee!
BECKYLEE:
Oh, wow.
- PUNKIN: There you go.
- BECKYLEE: Oh, man.
- NICK: You got it.
- PUNKIN: You got it.
THERRON:
You can do it.
THERRON: Just gain your
strength 'cause you do not
- want to start
- BECKYLEE: I can't do it.
- THERRON: Yes, you can.
- PUNKIN: Halfway.
THERRON:
Halfway.
- Only halfway?
- THERRON: You got to keep going.
- (panting, groaning)
- JEANNIE: Come on, Beckylee!
- You're, like, ten pulls.
- PUNKIN: There you go.
- JEANNIE: Come on!
- THERRON: Yes!
- You only have, like You're so close.
- BECKYLEE: Okay.
PUNKIN: You're right there,
Beckylee. Don't give up.
- There you go.
- Okay.
- You're right there. Beckylee.
- JEANNIE: Come on, Beckylee!
PUNKIN:
Come on, keep pushing.
THERRON: You're at the
end, so you should be good.
Okay.
Happy to be on stable land.
It was tough.
That was the toughest yet.
(sighs)
PUNKIN:
The last push.
I can do it.
Everybody's made it across, so,
I want to make it across
in one shot.
I want to show
that I'm as strong as Nick.
Let's go, Punkin!
- BECKYLEE: Good job.
- NICK: Nice, P!
Just like that.
PUNKIN: I got to call on
God, I got to call on my mom,
I got to call on my wife,
my sisters, to get me across.
My family has supported me
since day one.
They are always in my corner,
rooting me on.
My wife is like, "Never give up.
Just keep fighting."
- Tamika, Olivia.
- THERRON: Good job, Punkin.
Mary, Mommy, Tamika.
I met my wife in the Air Force.
We have been together
for seven years.
Me and my wife are ready
to start a family.
We want to do IVF,
to experience pregnancy,
and to have my mom
have grandchildren.
Mary, Mommy, Tamika.
Just to have a little baby
to hold.
Ah. I just can't wait.
- Mary, Mommy
- NICK: Yeah.
- THERRON: Good job, Punkin.
- NICK: You are flying, P.
- BECKYLEE: Nice job.
- JEANNIE: You got this, girl.
PUNKIN:
I want it so bad,
and now, I'm just gonna do
whatever it takes
to make sure that happens
and to reach the summit.
NICK:
Let's rock and roll.
PUNKIN:
Let's do it.
PUNKIN:
I cannot feel my feet.
JEANNIE:
My toes are frozen.
- PUNKIN: Same.
- JEANNIE: All of 'em.
JEANNIE:
Tonight is our last night
on the mountain.
This is the last chance
to vote somebody off.
I need to hold my own,
keep up with everybody
and just make it there.
- NICK: Damn, this is steep.
- JEANNIE: Just keep going.
Don't look back.
MANU:
It has been a hard-fought day,
conquering one of
the most treacherous areas
on the mountain.
But the battle isn't over yet.
And no one's position
in this game is promised.
JEANNIE:
You guys hear something?
- NICK: Yeah.
- PUNKIN: It's the mountain's keeper.
- NICK: Yeah.
- JEANNIE: Are you serious?
JEANNIE:
Oh, no.
Here we go.
Here comes trouble!
BECKLYEE: I just don't trust
Nick. I have to get that bag.
It can't be Nick, because
last time, we saw, like,
this huge power from it.
- "Whoever touched this bag first has the sole power"
- (gasping)
"to eliminate someone
immediately, sending them
- and their money off the mountain."
- DUSTY and JEANNIE: Oh.
NICK:
Therron had
the sole power
to eliminate somebody,
so I need to make sure
I get to that bag.
PUNKIN:
Go, Beckylee!
(contestants screaming)
(grunting)
(wind whistling)
PUNKIN:
Go, Beckylee!
(grunting)
No. No shot.
JEANNIE:
Let's get out of this snow.
NICK:
Interesting little race, there.
Everyone definitely noticed
Becky full
sending that bag, which,
either she wants me out,
or she does not trust me
to keep her in this game.
Either way,
they're both scary for me.
So, Becky,
I think you just might have put
a little target on your back.
- It's not easy riding this out.
- PUNKIN: It's very hard.
BECKYLEE:
I am, like, trying not to
freak out right now
because I'm supposed
to be working with Nick, right?
I should have no problem
with Nick getting that bag
if I'm truly working with him.
So he's probably thinking,
"Why does she not want me
to have this bag?"
I'm kicking myself mentally.
Did I screw up my entire game
on this one fricking bag drop?
"The closer you get,
the harder it gets.
"In this bag, you will find
all the inspiration
"you need to give you strength
to reach the summit.
The mountain's keeper."
JEANNIE:
Wow. I need the strength.
(laughter)
- Come on!
- What's in the bag, Nick?
PUNKIN:
Oh, my gosh.
- Oh!
- JEANNIE: Oh, my God. There's a video.
- NICK: No way.
- JEANNIE: Oh, my God!
THERRON:
Watching Nick open it, realizing
that we're gonna get
video messages
from our loved ones it will be
nice to take a break
and actually just hear something
from someone I know I can trust.
- Oh, this is Mama with this wig on.
- (laughter)
THERRON'S MOTHER: Son, I
just want to say that I love you,
and I miss you,
and I am super proud of you.
I knew when you were little
that you was different
and that you would make
a difference in this world.
PUNKIN:
Oh.
Have fun. I love you.
Aw. I'm so glad
I got to see your mom.
THERRON: Hearing my
mom's words of encouragement
really was like
that final push I need.
Honestly, nothing's gonna
stop me from winning this game.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Is that your dad?
Hey, Beckylee.
It's your father here.
I don't know what advice
to give you,
but what I do know is
your determination
and your will, and I know you
got it in you to take this home.
Go, Gators. And your family
loves you. I love you.
- JEANNIE: Aw.
- Miss you. Can't wait to see you.
- JEANNIE: He's so nice.
- Aw.
BECKYLEE: I think I
have a type A personality.
I hate things
that are out of my control,
both in this game
and outside of the game.
Like, it's my Achilles' heel.
Aw. Beckylee.
BECKYLEE:
But hearing from my dad
just kind of gives me
more faith in myself
that, like, even in moments
where I feel dejected
kind of like now
I know I have to keep trying.
PUNKIN:
It's my mom.
JEANNIE:
Ah, let's see!
PUNKIN'S MOM: I just
wanted to tell you I love you.
- Take your mind to a peaceful place.
- JEANNIE: Aw.
Focus on you.
Know that we're here
praying for you.
JEANNIE:
Oh.
PUNKIN:
I love my mom
and my family so much.
And they gave me, honestly,
the inspiration
and the motivation I need.
- Who's this?
- Who's it?
- That's my parents.
- Aw.
- JEANNIE: No way!
- And Caroline.
Nick, babe, hey.
I know you're probably
in the grind of it. Just know
that I love you so much.
Um, it's always me and you,
no matter what.
And I know you got this. You
don't need me to tell you that.
NICK:
After watching
the video, it just
really put in perspective,
I am here to come home
with the money.
Baseball didn't work out for me,
but I love my life
outside of this game.
The people in that video are
the people I care about most.
And I have to do
what's best for them,
which means
I got to win this money
and get my girlfriend
an engagement ring.
Oh, my God. There's my
there's my kids!
Oh, my little family! Ah!
Mom, I can't believe
you're in New Zealand right now.
I know. I love you.
Well, hon, I don't know
anybody else
that can do a better job
at this game than you.
DAUGHTER:
You put aside your dreams
to take care of us, so now
it's your time to finally shine.
JEANNIE:
This just gave me
the fight, the motivation.
Oh, I just feel like I got this!
Oh!
Mwah. Mwah. Mwah.
It was so special
seeing everyone else's family.
You become so close
from being out here
for all these days.
But good people go home
sometimes, and it stinks.
But it's a game, and I have to
do what it's gonna take to win.
PUNKIN:
All right, let's do it.
BECKYLEE:
Straight up.
(Beckylee groans)
BECKYLEE:
Where even is camp?
Checkpoint!
- PUNKIN: Checkpoint!
- JEANNIE: Ah!
- I love you, checkpoint.
- (Punkin sighs)
- JEANNIE: Oh, God.
- PUNKIN: If I never do it again,
it'll be too soon.
THERRON:
Tonight is our last vote.
I am stuck
between two alliances,
and I am in the middle.
I have no clue
what's gonna happen.
PUNKIN: Aren't y'all so glad,
like, we actually
made the checkpoint
with all the ground
that we had to make up today?
- I wasn't sure if we were gonna make it today.
- I know.
- Yeah. - NICK: And we had to.
- We had to.
JEANNIE:
Oh, no. Guess who's here.
PUNKIN:
Hello!
- Oh, you guys look dug in.
- Yeah.
Trying to stay warm.
It's cold up here.
Well, the last time I saw you,
there was a storm approaching.
- There was. - Yeah.
- Yup. Yup.
We had to be evacuated.
(Manu groans)
Well, this mountain
doesn't joke around.
ALL:
No.
MANU: The mountain keeper
visited for a bag drop.
Tell me what happened.
Actually, it was a happy moment.
We got, um, videos from home.
JEANNIE:
I don't know about you guys,
but for me, those videos
gave me new life, really.
- Yeah. - I agree.
- JEANNIE: I feel like
- Jeannie on day one.
- (laughter)
You know,
I hear from each of you,
after receiving these videos,
that the reason why you're here
is really sinking in.
- Yeah. Yeah.
- PUNKIN: Yeah.
MANU: This is your
last checkpoint camp.
But we're still gonna have
a vote tonight.
You're gonna get the chance
to steal someone's money.
Mm-hmm.
MANU:
Five of you sit here right now,
and one of you
will leave this mountain.
- Oh, Lord.
- Oh, my God.
MANU:
Think about it.
I'll be back.
- (sighs)
- JEANNIE: Tonight,
I really have to rely
on the people
that I trust in this game.
I do feel safe,
but you never know
what could happen.
This game has so many twists
and turns.
So I have to talk to
my top two Nick and Therron
and see what they're thinking
and then take it from there.
(wind whistling)
(wind whistling)
NICK:
All right.
All right. Let's do it.
NICK:
We only have five people.
We know
there's no more checkpoints.
I've been with Therron
and Jeannie since day one,
so if someone has to go home,
it's gonna have to be Punkin.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
- You? Okay.
- I feel fine.
BECKYLEE: I'm supposed
to be working with Nick, right?
So I have to tell him
to vote for Punkin.
- If I need to, I will.
- Okay.
You don't want to?
Okay.
But
I don't think
he has a loyal bone in his body.
I think he will do whatever
it takes to get to the top,
and I think he could flip
the script at any second,
and that could be on me.
I have a final three
with Punkin and Therron.
I believe
that's a genuine final three.
So tonight
has to be Nick.
THERRON:
Hello, Miss Lee.
- What's the plan, Stan?
- Do you mind if I talk to you?
THERRON:
Yeah.
What?
- I just don't want to vote out Nick.
- Please.
Please, Therron.
'Cause if that doesn't happen,
he'll gun for Punkin tomorrow
anyway. You know what I mean?
THERRON:
Me, Punkin
and Beckylee
have had an alliance
for a while now.
But if I decide to go
with Punkin and Beckylee,
that means
I have to not work with Nick,
who I've been working with
as well.
I promise you
I will get you to the summit,
- and you will get there.
- Okay.
THERRON: I don't know who's
gonna go home. I have no clue.
It's really hard.
Nicholas?
Ooh.
It's messed up.
Mm.
Therron has already let me know
that I am Beckylee's target
because she does not trust me.
So, if I can convince Punkin
that Beckylee
is going after her,
then I'll be packing
Beckylee's bag for her.
Wow.
What?!
Beckylee's been my girl,
but Nick told me that
she was coming for me,
she wanted to say my name.
And that definitely
puts a little bit
of suspicion in my mind,
because why would you do that?
- BECKYLEE: Punkin, you want to talk?
- Yeah.
PUNKIN:
You don't say my name.
I would never say
Beckylee's name.
Nick said that you told him.
It was like, "Oh, yeah,
it's time to get Punkin out."
Yeah.
Yeah.
BECKYLEE:
My plan
- has been us up there.
- Right.
I swear on my life.
When I ran for that bag,
I ran to protect you.
Yeah, I mean, I believe that.
I believe that.
I'm definitely starting to
side-eye Beckylee a little bit
and wonder
if she's being truthful to me,
because once a name is said,
it catches like wildfire,
and so,
that's messing up my game
and putting the possibility
for me to go home.
I swear on my life,
on my dad's life,
- I'm so solid with you.
- Okay.
I want Nick out tonight,
and I'll do whatever it takes
to get that to happen.
Okay.
BECKYLEE: I can just see it
in her eyes. Something feels off.
Like, she seemed
to not trust me.
And it's clear that Nick
decided to turn on me.
(Nick sighs)
I wasn't gunning for you.
It sucks.
Trust me.
One of us is gonna go.
It ain't gonna be your boy.
Becky, you're next.
Okay, guys,
it's time to make the vote.
Jeannie, can I talk to you?
- JEANNIE: Yeah.
- BECKYLEE: Do you trust me?
JEANNIE:
Yes. Yes. Okay.
I swear to God
I will get you to the summit.
- (laughing)
- No. No. Can you listen to me?
I'm really scared, Jeannie.
- Please. I swear to God. Please, Jeannie. Please.
- MANU: Jeannie?
MANU:
Beckylee?
- It's time to make the vote.
- You will? Thank you so much.
- Love you. Thank you.
- Wait. I Listen.
I know. Please. Please, Jeannie.
Please, Jeannie. Please, please.
BECKYLEE:
I need Jeannie to wake up.
And I hope she realizes that
Nick doesn't care
if she gets to the top.
But now
I can feel the panic setting in.
This very well could be the end
for me.
MANU:
Okay, guys.
(wind whistling)
(wind whistling)
MANU:
Okay, guys,
it's time to make the vote.
- Jeannie? Beckylee?
- Please, Jeannie. Please.
BECKYLEE:
Please. Please.
I'm begging you.
JEANNIE: This is the
worst position possible.
Beckylee she needed
that reassurance from me
not to vote her off.
I don't know what to do.
This is torture.
All right, so I know
that this is gonna be one
of the most difficult votes
we've made on this mountain,
being so close to the summit.
You guys have been
through this before.
Is there anything different
tonight?
I think the hard part
about right now is
the smaller the group gets,
the easier it is to fact-check.
- Mm-hmm. Yeah.
- THERRON: And it's really hard to figure out
who is telling you the truth.
MANU:
Beckylee,
how are you feeling about trust?
I'm disappointed
in where I feel right now.
I have people that I trust
wholeheartedly,
and I've never questioned.
Nick, you're not one of them.
NICK:
Hmm.
I never planned
to bring Nick to the top.
I think that's pretty evident.
- Yes, it is.
- Yup.
BECKYLEE:
And I was willing to
make you feel comfortable
for a long time
in order to protect
those that I do trust
and those
that I do want at the top.
So, s you're lying
to somebody.
I'm lying to you.
NICK: Not a surprise.
Who's really your ally?
- 'Cause you're I think
- I trusted Punkin more than you.
NICK: I think you've told
everyone you're their ally, though.
That's the problem.
You're Dennis 2.0.
- Everyone is your ally, like
- (Beckylee laughs)
- Nick, Nick, Nick.
- All you're doing right now
- You're just
- you're trying to overplay the game,
and I think I think
it's gonna backfire on you.
That's all I'm saying.
Okay, everybody's had
their thing to say, okay?
- Yeah.
- There's obviously some tension in the group.
Tomorrow,
you need four people together
who can work their way
toward the summit.
If you don't reach it,
you don't get the money,
you don't get the prize.
So, who are those four people
going to be?
Let's have some names.
I'll nominate Nick.
I'll nominate Beck.
No other names?
So let's make the vote.
THERRON:
I don't know what to do.
Put your hands up
if your vote is for Nick.
BECKYLEE:
Please.
Are you kidding me?
- Beckylee, I just
- I just, I-I
- I've never questioned you, Punkin.
- I never questioned you, either,
but Beckylee,
there's just so many things
He has been throwing your name
in the mud for three days.
Punkin, h-he (stammers)
he seriously has.
He will not take you. If he gets
a second to vote you out,
he will, and I promise you that.
NICK: You saw who she'll
vote out anybody at any time
- Punkin no, I will not.
- to get herself to the top.
PUNKIN: Beckylee, I-I've
been struggling with this.
I have to do what's best
for my game, Beckylee.
- And I would have taken you to the top, Punkin.
- But you've been lying to me.
Honesty: you mean what you say,
you say what you mean.
Don't lie to me. (sniffles)
And I hate this,
because I always thought
it was me and you,
but I just can't do that.
And I have to do what's best
for me right now in this moment.
It was always
me and you, Punkin.
MANU: Okay, we've
got one vote for Nick.
Put your hand up
if you want to vote Beckylee
off the mountain.
That's four votes, Beckylee.
Your climb to the summit
ends here.
I was loyal.
And unfortunately,
you will see that.
And I maybe you'll
regret that tomorrow.
Do not trust him.
Jeannie, he is not taking you
to the top.
I hope that says a lot.
- I really do.
- He's not taking you to the top.
Who am I taking to the top?
Therron, that's it.
He doesn't care about you two.
You'll see that.
Beckylee, grab your money,
bring it back to the group,
say your goodbyes.
BECKYLEE:
I feel true betrayal
from Punkin and Therron.
Like, I-I feel shell-shocked
that Punkin
would flip on me like that,
for someone who has
ran her name through the mud.
You know, Jeannie doesn't know
what's going on, so whatever,
I can't blame her, but
Getting to day 13 and not seeing
the top of the summit,
it-it like, you almost
would rather go home
at, like, day ten.
Day 13 is just evil.
THERRON: I know you're
mad, but I would like to hug you.
BECKYLEE:
I don't want any hugs.
THERRON:
Okay.
- Can I
- BECKYLEE: I genuinely love you both.
Can I give you a hug?
BECKYLEE: The people
that I had worked so hard
to build these
relationships with,
I had faith
that they would have my back.
But I think the mountain
allowed me to prove
that when my back
is against the wall,
I can't count on anyone
except myself.
I wish I didn't feel this way,
but I feel so bitter.
Like, if it was up to me,
none of them
would be getting anything.
I'm not rooting for any of them.
You are the final four.
This mountain has a way
of protecting the summit.
It's going to push you
to your limits.
Those of you who do make it
to the summit
will share not only in success,
but in $750,000 prize money.
- Get some sleep
- PUNKIN: Thank you.
and prepare yourselves
for the final push
to the summit.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
The vote was very emotional
for me.
I felt like I had
an amazing bond with Beckylee,
but Nick told me
Beckylee was saying my name,
and because of that, I lost
trust in her and her word.
And so, I just really had
to make the tough decision
to vote her out.
I'll share $700K with y'all
any day of the week.
I'm feeling incredible
right now.
Could not be happier
to steal Beckylee's money.
Everyone's rocking
almost $200k right now.
We got almost $750K
sitting there right now at camp.
This is the major leagues
for me tomorrow.
JEANNIE:
Just so you know,
I always have your back, okay?
I've never been more focused,
and this is my time.

MANU: Next time
on The Summit finale
NICK:
Day 14.
JEANNIE:
This is it, guys.
The summit.
MANU: the finish line
is in sight
(Therron shouts)
- JEANNIE: I keep falling through!
- Yeah, it's just deep.
NICK:
My foot's slipping, too.
- PUNKIN: We just got to push, y'all.
- (grunts)
MANU: but the mountain's
keeper has one final test.
What is this?
JEANNIE:
What the hell?
THERRON: We don't have
time to go down and back up.
JEANNIE:
What are we gonna do?
I don't know.
- What?
- JEANNIE: Oh, my God.
"Between you and the summit
is an impassable chasm.
(Therron screams)
(laughs):
What is happening?
MANU: And what the
final four don't yet know
is that the eliminated
have returned
for retribution.
This group is gonna have
the power
to decide how much cash
the people who reach the summit
will take home.
- Wow.
- DENNIS: The sweetest,
most bitter reward is revenge.
You don't got to lie
to all of us.
AMY:
Was your strategy
to deceive all of us
and thinking you had
all of us until you didn't?
You lied to everybody.
MANU:
The vanquished will decide
who will be crowned
champion of the summit.
This is the moment
when your power
becomes meaningful.
It's not just about winning.
It's how you do it.
BECKYLEE:
One last chance to make
my mark on the game.
JEANNIE:
Oh, my God.
