The Firm (2012) s01e14 Episode Script
Chapter Fourteen
Previously on "The Firm".
[sirens wailing.]
Martin Moxon's dead.
Sarah Holt was murdered in prison.
Men came into my house and tried to kill my family tonight! You are gonna help us take down Kevin Stack and Alex Clark! There's an unmarked room where all that stuff is kept.
It's only accessible by Alex and Stack via some kind of security fob.
Stack wears his around his neck.
There's a name on Stack's future victim hit list.
His date of death is recorded as today.
I can't just stand down and let this targeted patient die.
I need to speak with Isaac Nash.
I assume he's your patient? [gunshot.]
Mitch, Lewis Coleman has been shot! Stack has a peanut allergy.
We found it in his military file.
You're going to dose him.
[gasping.]
You son of a There's no port.
Meaning what? Meaning I don't know how we're gonna get what we need! You're just gonna have to take the hard drive.
What do you want? You have something that belongs to me, so I'm taking something that belongs to you.
My family is under protection.
You're not as smart as I took you for if you think they can be protected from me.
[loud gunfire.]
[screaming.]
Oh no! [screaming.]
[gunfire.]
I hope you appreciate the position you've put us all in.
If anything happens to my wife or daughter, I swear It will be entirely your fault.
No.
No no Well, that certainly got your attention.
You sound a little fragile, Mitch.
You want to take a moment? What do you want? You have something of mine, now I have something of yours.
Return the hard drive that you stole, or don't And see what happens.
I'll be in touch.
[loud gunfire.]
The Firm - S01E14 - "Chapter Fourteen".
Stack's guys don't know about Dimitri, right? No, I'm just keeping an eye out.
We should be safe here for a while.
What about the tracking device you put under their car? Well, it stopped working, so they must have found it.
I can't do that! It's not a request, Mitch.
I'm telling you to come in, and you need to come in now.
They have Abby! I'm not going to come in without her.
Listen to me: We will get Abby, the FBI.
It's not safe - Safe? I gave you my wife and daughter, Tarrance I put them in federal care! That's not fair; My agents were ambushed.
Maybe if we knew what we were dealing with I want to talk to Claire.
Hey, whoever took Abby did it for a reason.
You have something they want, something to trade.
Put my daughter on the phone, Tarrance.
Dad? Hi, Claire uh Everything is gonna be okay.
Dad, they took Mom.
I know.
I'm sorry, baby.
I'm gonna get her back.
I am gonna find her.
[crying.]
Can I call my daughter and make sure she's okay? I'll be asking the questions.
Now you took a hard drive that belongs to us.
Where is it? I- I don't know.
I- I'm a school teacher.
Listen, Abby, I don't want to hurt you.
But I will.
I don't know about any hard drive.
My husband's a lawyer.
If this is about one of his cases, we don't talk about his work.
I'm not going to ask you again So think.
Think really hard.
Like your life depends on it.
[breathing heavily.]
How's she doing? She saw everything.
The Marshall get shot, Abby get taken Oh God.
She can't be alone right now.
I'm going to her.
Hey! Mitch, you have to get Abby! I'll go.
You go to the federal building.
Find Tarrance, he'll take you to her.
Go, Tammy.
I'll call you.
You need to work faster.
I'm trying.
The encryption's military-grade.
I'm getting help from hundreds of computers online, [stammers.]
but it's not enough.
Keep working.
We've worked too hard to hand over the drive [phone rings.]
and be sittin' on nothing.
It's Andrew's phone.
Must be Stack.
He called you on it before.
Either Andrew's with him, or Or not.
Let's make a deal.
I want to talk to my wife.
At 2100 hours, you will drive to Dulles Airport Access Road.
You will park in the rest area off Exit 67.
And you will wait for further instructions.
I haven't gone to the feds or the police.
I know.
The files you have are encrypted.
The feds could break the code in a matter of hours.
If you gave them the drive, I'd be under arrest by now.
But your wife would also be dead.
I don't care about the drive! I just want Abby! I find your love for your wife a sign of your character.
Your weak character.
The access road, 2100.
[breathing heavily.]
Andrew I see no introductions are necessary.
I want that drive.
And I think at least one of you knows where it is.
Andrew? I don't Kevin, listen to me.
I'm with you.
I brought in McDeere.
Mitch trusted you.
Look, Mitch took the drive.
I don't know where, and neither does she.
He never told us.
You know what, Andrew? I believe you.
And since you don't know where to find the drive I don't need you anymore.
No! No! [loud gunshot.]
[scream.]
Now, I'm done asking nicely, Abby.
I want the drive.
Where's your husband? It may take a while Dimitri's good, but I don't think he's going to be able to crack it in time.
Well, things are getting really serious here.
Lewis is back up and around, but, with him getting shot, and now another Marshall, Tarrance is on a mission.
You can't tell him anything.
I know.
I don't think he's gonna accept that for much longer.
Hey, I'm gettin' closer.
Tammy, I'll call you back.
I don't have the full key, but parts of the drive are coming into focus.
It's some kind of formula.
Part of it calculates costs for prescription drugs in markets all over the world.
There's nothing incriminating about part of a formula.
We need more.
Get it ready.
We'll take this with us.
If he hurts her, I will kill him.
You understand that? He's not gonna hurt her, not 'til he has the drive.
I will kill him.
Hey, nobody's killing anyone.
This can be handled.
You've got to be on your game, so get it together.
I'll do whatever it takes to get Abby back.
But once we hand the drive to Stack, he may kill her anyway.
What are our other choices? Hand it over to the feds, see how long it takes them to crack it.
No.
No feds.
Look, McDeere's stubborn.
The worst thing you can do is threaten him.
Go home, Lewis, I'll take it from here.
I told you McDeere was on to something.
I asked for your help You looked the other way.
Hey, I don't help civilians with cases.
I'm an FBI agent.
I run investigations.
My way, not at the direction of Mitch McDeere, or anyone else.
You screwed up.
And now he can't tell you anything, 'cause they took his wife! I told you I will handle it.
I've seen you handle it.
You handling it is what got me shot.
Let me tell you something.
McDeere got you shot.
He should have come in.
He should have told us everything.
But instead, he stayed out there trying to get the evidence himself because he doesn't trust feds.
Well, I am done playing his games.
What are you gonna do? You don't even know where to find him.
We found Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
Mitch McDeere in DC? I like our chances.
Thank you for coming.
I'm very sorry to tell you that I just got a call from the DC police.
They told me that some city workers found a man's body not long ago floating in the Potomac.
The ID in his pocket apparently belonged to Andrew Palmer.
It's still early, but the police are treating this as a homicide.
He has a wife and son.
His boy's only 4 years old.
We're reaching out to the family.
Of course, we'll do whatever we can to help at this difficult time.
[murmuring.]
A lot of sad faces out there.
Their friend was murdered.
I got Andrew into this, he didn't have to die, Kevin.
Yes he did, and I object to the use of the word murdered.
For the record, his death was justifiable.
It was necessary to continue our work.
It's not our work, it's your work.
And it's gone way, way too far! A few of us are involved, but the vast majority of this firm has no idea what you're doing.
I don't have time to hold your hand on this, Alex.
You knew what I was doing, and you supported it.
For the record, I found out only after the fact.
Martin Moxon came to me in terror when he figured out what you were doing.
Yes, and, like any good lawyer, you did the math.
An investigation would do more than bring down your best client; In the midst of a legal recession, it could taint and destroy this firm your father's pride and joy.
I know what I agreed to.
I don't need be reminded.
Good.
Although, I'd like to think your decision to support my mission wasn't entirely a business move.
Not here.
What are we doing about McDeere and the drive? We're attacking from two angles.
We'll get the drive when McDeere brings it in.
Unless, of course, his wife tells us where to find it sooner.
Please, I don't know where the drive is.
Please don't do this.
You ever hear of water-boarding? I asked you a question.
I don't like to repeat myself.
It's a form of torture.
M-hmm.
I take this cloth, and I put it over your mouth and nose.
Then I slowly pour a little bit of water on it And it creates the sensation of drowning.
Please! Most people last 20 seconds and they tell us everything we need to know.
On the bright side, this'll all be over quickly.
[breathing heavily.]
[phone rings.]
Stack You sure? I understand.
Thanks.
No.
Stand by.
McDeere's wife doesn't know where the drive is.
How do you know? Let's just say we asked her in a way that encouraged the truth.
A way that's proven reliable.
McDeere's working with a guy named Dimitri, a hacker.
He's trying to break the encryption, but Abby doesn't know where.
You tortured her? I thought you lawyers were taught not to ask questions you don't want answers to.
So what now? We let McDeere bring us the drive.
And you'll release her? We gotta go.
Sorry, I wish I could have done more.
You tried, Dimitri.
We have to be at the Dulles Airport Access Road within an hour.
You got the drive? Right here.
Let's go.
Let's go get her.
[distant plane engines.]
This is the place.
No.
Put that away.
We're making the switch, Ray.
I don't care about this case, or justice, or anything.
You just get her back! I understand.
I did this.
All of this.
Leaving the program.
Hey, we all knew the risks.
No, that's what I mean, I knew the risk.
And I didn't let it stop me.
I wanted my name back.
I wanted a future, my future.
Don't do that, man.
I'm serious.
I have a problem, Ray.
I could have just walked away from all this.
At any point.
But I had to know the truth.
I was too focused on not being played.
So I was reckless with the things I care most about.
[phone rings.]
Stack? I want you to remember you did this to yourself.
What? [sirens approaching.]
What are you talking about? I told you to come alone.
I did! Stack? Out of the car - now! Show me your hands! Take it easy.
How did you find us? Your phone.
You called Tammy at the safe house.
Say what you want, but we feds know how to triangulate a cell signal.
I got a warrant now, smartass.
You're under arrest as a material witness in an FBI investigation.
Both of you.
Listen to me, Tarrance.
They have my wife! They have Abby! What do they want? What have you got that they're willing to trade? Agent Tarrance? I found something.
A hard drive.
No visitors, no calls.
These two go nowhere until I say so.
You have known Abby since Memphis, Tarrance.
They will kill her.
You did this, not me.
You're a civilian, do you get that? You don't bring down criminal conspiracies on your own.
You don't trade evidence for hostages.
That's why we have federal agents.
The same federal agents that let Abby get taken.
You're done.
Both of you.
We've got the hard drive from your car.
We'll know what's on it soon enough.
How did they get to her, Tarrance? Why was she being transported? Because federal agents were shot, and I wanted answers.
Somehow they knew where to find our safe house.
We were coming in.
I was bringing you the evidence.
If you and your damn ego would have just waited My ego? Do you even hear yourself? I'm shutting you down.
Put them in a cell.
They'll be arraigned later.
You want to talk, you let me know.
Otherwise, get comfortable.
[door buzzes.]
[door buzzes.]
He has the drive.
Mitch He'll kill Abby.
He has no reason to keep her alive.
Mitch They didn't get the drive.
I didn't bring it.
What are you talking about? I saw it.
You saw a drive.
You didn't see "the" drive.
Dimitri still has it.
You lied? What the hell were you thinking? You put Abby's life at risk? Take it easy.
If anything happens to her I will never forgive you.
I'm gonna let that go, 'cause you're not thinking right.
If we went to a switch with the real drive, Stack would have killed us all.
You can't hear that right now.
But I'm right.
So where's your plan? We make sure Abby is alive.
Then we insist that the switch take place in a public area so Stack's guys can't do anything stupid.
If that was the real drive, Abby'd be dead by now.
Stack doesn't know it's a fake.
[phone ringing.]
[Abby breathing heavily.]
[clears throat.]
Sir Yes, sir.
I understand.
Yes, as we discussed.
Yes, sir.
[sighs.]
Well, I'm sorry, but I don't have good news.
Your husband was arrested with his brother.
The FBI now has the drive.
And that drive was the only thing keeping you alive.
Please I won't say anything.
I don't even know who you are.
I can't help you.
I'm just a soldier.
Decisions like that are way above my pay grade.
But what I can do is give you a choice.
They say the experience of drowning is uh hell unlike any other.
But if you want I can end this for you very quickly.
[clicks gun.]
I want to call my daughter.
I want to say goodbye to her.
I'm sorry.
Who is he to you, Kevin Stack? You're not a soldier, not anymore.
Why would you kill, just because he ordered you to? Even if I told you, you wouldn't understand.
But what you should know is that your death will allow others to live.
When's the arraignment? And what about the drive? I understand.
I'll call you back.
They've both been arrested as material witnesses.
I know, the feds have the drive.
It's time to roll this up.
We can take the room on 4 apart, destroy anything written.
Alex, the feds have more than enough on that drive to destroy us both.
Noble is gone.
This firm's gonna be crawling with feds in a few hours.
What about Abby? You can't kill her.
Kevin, if we're exposed, it's over.
It doesn't change anything to kill her.
We only kept her alive to trade for the drive.
Maybe we still can.
How long 'til the feds break the encryption? A few hours.
We made some modifications to the security, but they will crack it.
Then we have a few hours to get McDeere out.
If a judge rules he's not a material witness, the FBI have no right to search the drive.
Is that true? [dials number.]
[phone rings.]
[sighs.]
Sir.
Is it done? No, no, I'm just taking care of it.
Hold off.
We may have another card to play.
Yes, sir.
If what you say is true, then get McDeere out, and get us that drive.
You have no right to hold us.
That's a joke.
Two federal agents were shot.
You know why.
You have evidence that would expose a major criminal conspiracy.
You can't prove that.
I will prove that when we decode the hard drive we found.
Then I'll add charges of obstructing justice, and tampering.
Mitch, he's right.
You put Abby and Claire under federal protection, and you told me you were on to something big.
Diane, you arrest a criminal defense attorney, then tried to leverage him for privileged information by putting him in jail.
You can't have it both ways, Mitch.
First you say there is no information, then you say it's privileged.
[stammering.]
Mitch, are you okay? We're filing a habius petition.
Which one of you's the lawyer? You don't have to be a lawyer.
I saw guys in prison write habius petitions on napkins, paper bags He's right.
You are an officer of the court.
You have to file that petition.
I want an immediate hearing.
I've heard enough.
Marshall, take him back to the cell.
Let me ask you something.
If you had the evidence, would you trade it for my wife? No.
The federal government doesn't trade evidence for hostages.
We should tear that up.
Then I'd be obstructing justice.
Don't worry, Agent Tarrance, it'll take a few days before any hearing gets calendared.
Diane, it's his wife.
Are you really in favour of this? I like McDeere, Lewis.
But this cowboy crap has to stop, right now.
How long will it take to get the habius hearing? It'll take a couple days.
We'll get an arraignment first.
We'll ask the judge to fast-track it.
And what if the feds want to stall? That means we might be in here a while, right? Susan McDougal did 22 months for refusing to cooperate with a federal investigation of Bill Clinton.
Hey, that was a good call on habius.
Thanks for picking up the slack in there.
[door buzzes.]
Let's just hope Ruckheiser has a conscience and files it.
Oh, I think we can do better than that.
I just filed one on your behalf.
I need to have a privileged conversation with my clients.
Could you excuse us? Sure.
Alex We have a hearing set for an hour from now.
I made a call.
There's plenty of judges in this building who owe me.
You want to represent us? I want you released.
I want the drive released before it's decoded.
And if you want Abby back we need to start working together.
Just hear me out.
You are working with Stack.
He's killing Noble patients.
You were helping him.
I'm not here to explain myself, and I don't expect you to trust me.
But we both want the same thing right now.
I doubt that.
We both want you out of here with the drive.
If a court rules you're not a material witness, the feds can't search it.
If we get the drive back, we can trade it for Abby.
That's the idea.
Stack says the drive can be cracked in a couple of hours.
That doesn't leave us much time.
Then you'd better get us in front of a judge.
This was all a lie, wasn't it, Alex Getting me to join the firm? It was to keep tabs on Sarah Holt.
Why are you helping him? People are dying.
About a year ago, Stack asked me for space at the firm to store some confidential documents.
I said yes; Noble was our largest client.
Kevin started coming around more often, working out of the room we provided.
I started seeing him more.
Over time, we connected.
The room, that's where we found the hard drive.
Yeah, I didn't know what he was doing.
Martin's the one who figured it out.
He came to me one day, terrified, with proof.
Why didn't you go to the police? And tell them what? It was happening under my roof? Even if the police believed I didn't know, the scandal alone would destroy everything.
My father built that firm from the ground up.
He will not live to see me tear it down.
Alex, it's not to late.
We can get Abby back, and you can help us.
Please.
It is too late! I started trying to fix this.
But it's just as much my mess now.
I got you the hearing.
The rest is up to you.
Get yourselves out and get us that drive.
[door buzzes.]
Who was that on the phone? Doesn't matter.
What matters is, they told me to stand by.
You believe in God, Abby? You don't have to answer me.
I was just thinking, if you did, maybe it would give you some comfort right now.
All the major religions believe that death isn't an end.
You go on.
They don't agree on how, but still I was raised Methodist.
Really? I don't know a lot about that.
I have a daughter.
She needs me.
I am not ready to move on.
Very few people are.
I've seen soldiers barely 18 years old say the exact same thing.
You served with Kevin Stack in Desert Storm.
And William Herman and Vincent Mercer How do you know that? We know about SoA The FBI knows.
You could let me go.
And I wouldn't say anything about you.
Tammy, it's me.
Hey, what's going on? I don't know, something's wrong.
Mitch and Ray, they were supposed to call me.
Say that again? Something's wrong! Mitch and Ray, they went to meet Stack, they didn't take the hard drive.
Why not? Ray was gonna call me.
I was supposed to bring it.
He was gonna tell me where.
Okay, if he says he's gonna call, he's gonna call.
How long should I wait? They're not answering their phones.
I don't know.
Give it half an hour.
If you don't hear from them, get out of there, and bring the hard drive to me.
Okay.
Ms.
Ruckheiser, do I have this right? The people seek to hold these defendants as material witnesses? That's correct, Your Honour.
Witnesses to what, exactly? That's precisely what we're trying to find out.
In the last 72 hours, two federal agents have been shot, and we have every reason to believe Mr.
McDeere could help us determine who is responsible.
May I be heard, Your Honour? In fact, Mr.
McDeere himself came to my office, asking us to launch an investigation.
And you did nothing! There was nothing I could do.
Not without evidence.
And you believe these two have evidence now? Yes, Your Honour.
Mr.
McDeere's wife, Abby, was abducted this morning while she was being transported by federal agents.
Did you say abducted? We believe the defendants are withholding evidence in an effort to use it to trade it for Mrs.
McDeere.
May I be heard, Your Honour? Good Lord, yes, I can't wait to hear this.
I have no information to provide the government, Your Honour.
Now, I know that they think that I do, but it is an outrageous abuse of process to hold us on this baseless claim! We seized a hard drive from the defendants, Your Honour.
And when we decode the contents, our claim won't be so baseless.
I am an attorney, an officer of the court.
Now, if I say I have no information You will say whatever it takes to be released! Is that true, Counsel? I can't release a vigilante who wants to take criminal matters into his own hands.
If your wife is in danger, talk to the FBI.
The FBI cannot get her back.
They have no legal right to hold us.
They have to prove that we are withholding evidence.
Ms.
Ruckheiser, how much time before that hard drive you seized is decrypted? Not long, Your Honour, within a few hours.
There is nothing on the drive, Your Honour! I need to get out of here now! If that's true, you'll be out soon enough, Counsel.
Until then, you're both staying.
Alex, listen to me.
The drive is not real.
You have to tell Stack.
He has to keep Abby alive.
What the hell do you mean we lost? Both McDeeres are still in custody.
The FBI are working on the drive right now.
Then we're done! Hold on.
Something's happening.
Ms.
Clark.
By all accounts, you're a reasonable woman.
You want to tell me what the hell's going on here? You want to be a little more specific? There's nothing on the drive.
The contents aren't even encrypted.
Don't go away.
Well, then, you can let them go.
Alex, help us.
Who's Dimitri Portnoy? We ran the serial number on the drive.
Some guy on River Ridge in Anacostia.
I really don't know, Diane.
I'm just here to help out one of my attorneys.
Did you get that? The drive is a decoy.
Abby told us they took the drive to a guy named Dimitri.
River Ridge in Anacostia.
Go find him before the feds do.
Do you think she's okay, Ray? Ray, do you think she's okay? I don't know, brother.
We need to call Dimitri.
He has to deliver the drive to Stack.
Even if he does, Stack may not let her go.
[door buzzes.]
McDeere, Mitchell, McDeere, Raymond, saddle up, you're both on the move.
This is them? Yes, sir.
You have authorization for this, right? I'm a federal Marshall, these men are material witnesses in a federal investigation.
I'm taking them out for a debriefing.
Works for me, I just need you to sign.
Thanks, I'll take it from here.
[door shuts.]
Cuff yourselves.
[door buzzes.]
What are you doing? I've known Abby longer than I've known my own wife.
I was there at the hospital when Claire was born.
Here.
All right.
Just keep moving.
I'm walking you out of here.
What about Tarrance and Diane? Let me worry about them.
You just find Abby.
[sigh.]
How you gonna explain this? I'm injured, and for the record, you two got the best of me and took off running.
Thanks, Lewis.
Wait! I almost forgot.
I signed this out of the evidence log.
I understand you guys need to do this alone, but call when you can.
Thank you.
[phone rings.]
Come on, come on, come on [phone rings.]
We just pulled up.
River Ridge.
We should have him any second.
His name is Dimitri Portnoy.
Hurry up, the feds are probably on their way to question him.
[phone ringing.]
Mitch! Dimitri, where are you? Where am I? Where the hell are you guys? Ray said he was gonna call.
We got delayed.
You still got the drive? I talked to Tammy.
She told me to bring it to the safe house.
There's been a change of plans.
Get out of the apartment, take the drive, and meet us in the alley on the south side of the park, near Grace church.
You know where that is? Yeah, park near Grace church.
Listen, I'm still on parole, I can't be seen walking around in the world with anything connected to computers.
Dimitri, south side of the park near Grace church.
Otherwise you won't be walking around.
You hear me? [sigh.]
So angry.
Why are you McDeeres so angry? Gone! He can't be gone.
We're standing in his place.
Nobody's here.
What about the drive? Are you kidding? It's like a Radio Shack in here.
Take it all.
[phone beeps.]
McDeere It's McDeere.
Who is this? Who do you think? How the hell are you calling me? You're in federal custody.
Not anymore.
I got out, and we got the drive.
Where's Abby? I don't believe you.
Yeah, well you need to believe me.
You also need to show me proof that my wife is alive or I will bury you.
I have two men standing in Dimitri's apartment as we speak.
Well, then your men are two steps behind, as always.
Meet me at the park near Grace church, on the south side of the street.
No, I'll tell you what we're gonna do.
No, hey, you listen to me! I'm not following your instructions anymore.
We meet out in the open, fair exchange.
And if she's How do you know about the SoA? And how much does the FBI know? We know it started in Desert Storm.
We know you call yourselves the True Healers.
You don't know why.
We do.
We know about the mission.
We're on your side.
Yeah, right.
That's why you're sitting in that chair.
My husband defended Sarah Holt.
Do you know Sarah? She was SoA.
We tried to protect her.
You've got this all wrong.
What's the mission? Sarah killed Margaret Whittaker.
Stack sent [shouting.]
What's the mission? [stammering.]
Sarah told my husband.
He was helping her.
You're lying.
Because no SoA soldier would ever betray Major Stack.
That was very clever.
Trying to get into my head.
Major Stack was right.
All enemies of the mission need to be turned or eliminated.
No No No please.
Now No, please.
[phone rings.]
I'm sure that's not for you.
[loud buzzing.]
[pained cry.]
[phone rings.]
[whispering.]
Where are you? I'm losing my mind.
We're fine.
We took a little detour to the courthouse but we're back on track.
Try to keep this short so they can't trace it.
Did they find Abby? We haven't found her yet.
We called Stack.
We're gonna do the switch in two hours.
Put Claire on.
Baby, she's really terrified.
I don't know.
Yeah, I know.
Mitch wants to talk to her.
Claire, honey? Dad? Dad, I want you to come back now.
Where's Mom? I'm gonna go get her.
Don't be scared, I'm gonna go get her right now.
I'm fine and Ray's fine.
We'll see you soon, okay? Dad, I thought you said we were done with all this.
I know.
Look, I messed up.
It's my fault, but I'm gonna fix it.
Okay? I love you.
We're taking everything.
The drive's not there.
I just talked to McDeere.
He wants a trade.
The park near Grace church.
Two hours.
I thought he was in custody.
Here's what I've learned.
If you think something, the opposite must be true.
You're gonna give them Abby? I don't know yet.
I just called our friend who's watching her and he didn't answer.
Why not? Go find out! Pack her up and drive her to the park.
We'll decide what to do with her there.
[panting.]
[.]
[panting.]
Mercer, she's gone! Walker's dead! What the hell do you mean, she's gone? She has to be here.
Go find her! [grunting.]
How the hell did they get out? I watched them being taken back to the pens.
I don't know, and I don't care.
I just want this behind us; I don't care what it takes.
McDeere wants a meeting, he has the drive So he claims.
I guess we'll find out in less than an hour.
He doesn't care about the drive.
Just give him his wife.
After everything they've been through, they'll let it go.
There's a lot he can tell the feds.
Not enough.
That's why he went after the drive in the first place.
Everything else is circumstantial.
I'm a good lawyer.
I've done more than enough to insulate us from an investigation.
It won't matter if we don't get that drive.
Then get it.
But then we stop.
Everything stops! You're giving up? You were always the true believer here, Kevin.
But even the best and bravest soldier has to know when to cut and run.
Where'd you get the car? It's my sister's.
And I don't know what we're doing, but I'd really like to get it back to her without any blood on the seats.
Where's the drive? I couldn't crack it.
Something to do with drug prices and Noble pay outs.
I couldn't get a full picture.
I don't care about that anymore.
I just gotta get this done.
It's time.
He's gonna show, right? He's gotta show.
I got your back, let's go.
Diane! Excuse me.
They're gone.
Gone? Mitch and Ray, they were signed out by Lewis an hour ago for debriefing.
That's not possible.
It is possible.
I knew you didn't approve it.
Of course not.
Oh, Lewis, what did you do? Where is he? I don't know, but I want a warrant.
If he is helping them - Wayne, he's a US Marshall.
What the hell is going on here, Diane? How does Mitch McDeere get the best of the FBI and the US Attorney? I don't know! But agents on active cases don't throw hissy fits in court hallways.
Call Lewis's boss.
We'll find them.
It's the only option we have at this point.
Wait 'til we make contact.
When I give the order, drive her in.
