Thunderbirds Are Go! (2015) s01e14 Episode Script

Falling Skies

Shuttle EG1, you are clear to dock.
Welcome to the Australia Grand Space Hotel.
- Oh, wow, Parker, isn't it amazing? - I'm stunned, m'lady.
In all my years, I've never seen anything quite like it.
All this luggage for a single night stay.
- You've really outdone yourself.
- Thank you.
You know it's all just for show, though, don't you? It's what they expect.
- Hello! - Maybe they could give me a hand with it.
(RINGING) - Lady Penelope, how's the grand opening? - Oh, quite the scene - but it'd be far more fun if the man who made it all possible could be here with me.
Oh I'm not much for p-parties.
Even this is more than I deserve.
Taking a bow may not be your style, Brains, but you gotta admit your nano-construction technology is a game changer.
The entire hotel auto-assembled in a week.
Well, you can't blame a girl for trying.
I'll get you out of that workshop one of these days, Brains.
Oh, got to go.
This is Kat Kavanagh reporting live from the Australia Grand.
Let's see who's here.
Nice place for a party, don't you think? I don't care about society events, Lady Penelope.
I wanna know if you have any comment on the claims that the hotel is unsafe.
This dangerous, unproven technology has no place in our world! And using it for the very first time in space - it's not only foolish, it's a recipe for disaster! Disaster, I say, disaster! I've seen that press conference before.
He sounds like a complete idiot.
Yeah, you tell her! I know the inventor personally and have every confidence that not only is it safe, but this kind of technology would inspire buildings that defy our wildest imagination.
Please, stay calm! - Somebody help me! - I've got you! Just as I was getting me space legs Five Four Three Two One.
(THEME MUSIC PLAYING) Thunderbirds Are Go! ~ S01E14 - Falling Skies ~ Mayday, Mayday! We have decompression in bulkheads A9 through B10.
Altitude thrusters not responding, over.
Thunderbird 5, what's going on up there? Sounds like some kind of structural failure in the outer hull.
Structural failure? That can't be right.
And even if it is, the nano-matrix should reassemble automatically.
Could I have done something wrong? A bit of a wild ride here, but we're all OK.
Ugh Speak for yourself, m'lady.
John, have you made any contact with the hotel? They're reporting some of the manoeuvring thrusters were damaged in the blast.
They can't control the spin.
The force of the decompression has pushed the hotel out of orbit.
Unless we can correct that, it's going to enter the atmosphere and crash.
- Wouldn't it burn up on re-entry? - No, Scott - I'm afraid not.
The nano-matrix is designed to withstand that kind of heat.
Something this large hitting the ground - it would be c-catastrophic.
What have I done? Come on, Brains, let's go down to that workshop of yours and think something up.
- What do you say? - Yes.
Good idea.
- We'll think of a solution.
- I'll join you.
Ugh - we need to get that hotel back into a stable orbit.
John, let them know that International Rescue is on the way.
They should prepare the escape capsules just in case.
Good idea.
Allen, as soon as Thunderbird 3 is fuelled up, I want you to launch.
Let's try and use the manoeuvring thrusters to push the hotel back into position.
I'm on it.
Lady Penelope, can you help reassure all the guests that we won't let anything happen to them? FAB, Scott.
Consider it done.
Virgil, let's get Thunderbird 2 airborne and pick up Gordon.
If those escape capsules start dropping into the ocean, - we'll need someone to grab them.
- What about you? I'll ride up in the pod abord Thunderbird 3 and take a look at the damage first hand.
If we can get enough data to Brains, maybe he can figure out what went wrong.
- Everybody agree? - Yep.
- Agreed.
- Sure.
OK, then.
Thunderbirds are go! (THEME MUSIC PLAYING) Five, four, three, two, one.
VIRGIL: Thunderbird 2 is go.
If this was somehow my fault, I could never live it down.
People's lives are now in danger.
Brains, I've never met a more cautious, thorough person than you.
I'd be very surprised if this was because of something you did wrong.
What does your gut tell you? I'm a man of science, Grandma Tracy.
We don't typically consult with our guts.
But I suppose I could give it a try.
What do I do? Close your eyes and listen to your feelings; what are your first instincts? The hotel structure should be indestructible by normal means.
The molecular bonds are just too tight.
For a hull breach of this m-magnitude, someone must have tampered with it.
It's the only explanation.
But sabotage? How would that even be possible? - We have one way to find out.
- I'm on it.
(THEME MUSIC PLAYING) Refuel complete.
Starting countdown to launch.
Dah! Kayo! - I need a lift.
- Uh, sure.
Brains thinks someone's up there poking holes in the hotel.
So you're not here to watch me save the day? Uh no.
Five, four, three Two, one.
ALLEN: Thunderbird 3 is go.
SCOTT: - Thanks for the lift, Thunderbird 3.
ALLEN: - Any time.
SCOTT: Brains, I can see the damage now.
Starting a molecular scan.
Oh, my! - Find something? - I'll say.
Even with this preliminary data, I can see that the molecular matrix has been unzipped.
Something seems to have disrupted it.
This is a pretty wild spin.
I'm gonna have to adjust it manually.
- You can do that? - Probably - how hard can it be? Preparing to retro-burn in three Two, one.
(INDISTINCT) Good save.
- Impressive, Allen.
- Thanks.
Looking good, Thunderbird 3.
We have another hull breach.
(INDISTINCT) Not one of the better parties I've been to.
Everyone, please remain calm.
It's all under control.
LADY PENELOPE: Scott, I thought you had this under control.
Sorry, Lady Penelope - I thought I did too.
(BEEPING ALARM) SCOTT: Thunderbird 5, you better get the hotel on the line.
I think it's time to get the guests aboard escape capsules.
That was fast! Yeah, except I haven't called the hotel.
I'm pretty sure those escape capsules were empty.
Argh! - This wasn't supposed to happen, right? - Someone triggered the manual override.
All but one of them launched and that one shows a malfunction.
Thunderbird 3, how many people can we fit in your cargo bay? - I don't know Lots? - Start docking with the hotel.
I'll meet you at the airlock.
We'll try to get everyone out in two trips.
Virgil, as soon as you have Thunderbird 4, take Thunderbird 2 as high as she'll go.
We'll shuttle down the guests for a high-altitude hand-off.
FAB.
Just picking up Gordon now.
- Aah What's shakin', bakin'? - Gordon, you smell.
Try spending two weeks at the bottom of the ocean in one of these suits.
You got it easy in here.
At least now it smells like hard work.
I'm just saying.
There will be a certain VIP on this flight Name starts with Lady, ends with Penelope Now that you mention it, a three minute shower and a clean uniform wouldn't hurt.
Computer, disable shower controls.
- Hey! What happened to the water? - Sorry! Must be broken.
Guess you'll have to smell like hard work.
Warnings about the nano-construction seem to be coming true.
Has your opinion changed? Nnot at all.
There's probably a simple explanation for all of this.
Even Lady Penelope has doubts about me.
- Oh, what makes you say that? - Her long, awkward pause.
And my gut.
(LAUGHS) Well, you don't have to listen to it all the time.
Thank you, Max.
Send the data to the holo-projector.
Oh, my! According to the m-molecular scans, some of the b-building blocks of the matrix have switched polarity.
They're registering a completely opposite status signature.
Son, I have no earthly idea what you just said.
But by your enthusiasm, it must be good news.
Oh, no.
This is terrible news.
Someone has found a way to instruct component molecules of the structural matrix to unbuild themselves.
It's an extremely localised effect, but in the vacuum of space, still quite d-devastating.
It wasn't my fault! This was definitely done by someone aboard the hotel.
A saboteur SCOTT: OK, Thunderbird 3, the hatch is sealed.
If they're still here, I'll find them.
BRAINS: The hotel has two hulls, an outer and inner.
You're walking through the bulkhead between them.
The sealed compartments add an extra layer of safety.
What happens if another crack forms while I'm here? Ordinarily, in the event of a hull breach, the nano-matrix would automatically repair itself.
But that's not happening now, is it? OK, I'm entering compartment A11.
You'll be next to a compartment that's been breached.
It's still in vacuum, so I wouldn't advise proceeding any further.
Thanks for the tip.
Brains, I think I've found something.
It's attached to the outer wall.
- I'm sending you a scan.
- BRAINS: Receiving.
Kayo, get out of there.
Now! This doesn't look good.
(GASPS) Kayo, are you all right? I'm fine.
I didn't find who did this, but I think I found the how.
I take that back.
I think I found both.
Kayo, it's Alan.
We're loading up the last group of hotel guests.
- You'd better get up here! - Kind of busy.
Leave without me.
- This hotel is about to crash and burn.
- I don't have time to argue, Allen! - Comms off.
- She hung up on me.
If we can't make it back in time, she still has the pod.
Punch it outta here.
(ALARM SIGNALS) There's no way I'm letting you keep that thing! So you can prove all this was sabotage Good plan.
You were the one who launched the escape capsules.
Probably not the smartest move for you now.
I'll be perfectly fine on the one that malfunctioned.
Amazing what switching a few relays can do.
Who are you? "This dangerous, unproven technology has no place in our world.
" I'm merely a concerned citizen.
- The Hood.
- I do wish you would call me Uncle.
Ugh Don't worry - your secret is still safe with me, for now.
- "Fancy meeting you here, m'lady".
- Gordon, what a surprise.
Ooh, glad you freshened up for the occasion.
(SNIFFS) I put on a clean uniform! Thrilled for you, sir.
Momentous occasion for us all.
Parker, don't you have some bags to carry? Oh, I knew I forgot something.
International Rescue, this is Thunderbird 3; we got 'em all.
Good work, everyone.
We didn't get 'em all.
Kayo is still on board.
- She has the pod, Allen.
- That's not what I'm worried about.
She's not alone up there and still not picking up our comm.
Hmm What's your game, Hood? Crushing a space hotel is a new low even for you.
I have nothing against the hotel - it's what it represents.
This new age in building things would mean a quick death to the industries I worked very hard to control.
This would put you out of the construction business.
All I needed to do was sow the seeds of doubt and the world would reject the nano-construction that built this hotel.
So you posed as a scientist, to shout the sky is falling, then used that thing to actually make it happen.
I only meant to cause a panic.
The imminent crash is simply a bonus.
With all the guests on board? They had plenty of escape capsules waiting for them, until International Rescue decided to show up.
I wasn't gonna make it easy for you.
You gave me no choice! Now, maybe your failure here will mean the end of International Rescue as well.
Argh! Go ahead.
Keep it.
Jump into your little spaceship and show the world your proof.
But leaving now wouldn't be very fitting for an agent of International Rescue, would it? Hmm? I don't believe your job here is complete.
Comms on.
Thunderbird 5, do you read me? Kayo, we've been trying to reach you.
Brains has calculated the re-entry vector.
The hotel is gonna crash in central Florida.
Good luck saving the world.
(EVIL CACKLE) Brains, please tell me you've got something.
Scott, I I have an idea.
But it's n-not what you might consider rational.
Never argue with crazy, son.
This time, I say, "Go with your gut.
" Kayo.
I want you to try something.
- I want you to unbuild the station.
- You want me to what? If we can amplify the destruction signal from the saboteur's device, theoretically we should be able to completely destroy the hotel - B-before it hits the ground.
- Tell me where to start.
You'll need to connect the device to a main power conduit.
- We're really coming in close.
- Yeah.
Right.
I've attached it to the conduit.
Are you sure this will work? - My gut says yes.
- Has your gut ever been wrong? So far, no.
But I've only started going with it today.
It's charging.
Time to go.
(SNORING) (BANG) (GASPING) (DRAMATIC MUSIC) (GASPING) (COUGHING) Oh Oh, phew! So, how am I supposed to land this thing? VIRGIL: Try to stay airborne.
We'll pick you up.
Good news.
Word of The Hood sabotage is spreading.
Your technology still has a bright future, Brains.
(BARKING) Stop that.
Got half a mind to send you into space, you spoiled little runt.
(SNIFFS) - That's more like it.
- Oh, there will be payback.
That was some out-there thinking on your part, Brains - nice work.
Now that I know what The Hood was able to do, I can re-engineer the process to make sure it can never be compromised like that again.
I never d-dreamed someone would do a thing like this.
Guess I'll never understand people.
It's because you always see the best in folks.
Our world needs more people like you, Brains - you and your gut.
But as long as The Hood is still out there, I'll need to be thinking three steps ahead.
And speaking of The Hood, any idea where that escape capsule took him? You can't navigate those things from inside.
- He could have landed anywhere.
- Maybe "It's amazing what switching a few relays can do.
" - Huh? - Uh-huh (SCREAMING) Work, you infernal machine!
