The hockey world was stunned today
by the official announcement
that City of Angels Saints star
Ricky Blade suffered
a severe spinal injury
in a game against the Windy City Blades.
The injury has left him paralyzed,
but doctors are optimistic
that his condition may improve.
Blade, the Federal League's leading scorer
for the past five seasons,
was on the verge of another
record-breaking year.
We all wish Ricky the best.
