The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (2020) s01e15 Episode Script

Reunion Part 2

1
[Andy] Tonight, the jaw-dropping part two
of The Real Housewives
of Salt Lake City Reunion.
I smelled hospital still.
I never went to the hospital that day.
-Well, this is the headline.
-[laughs]
Leah from St. John's Valley
said, "Mary, there's supposedly
audio of you calling
your congregation poor and stingy."
"How do we know that's not really you?"
It It is me.
I wanna make something clear.
You are not my friend.
I'm not saying sorry!
I have a fear when guys are standing
out in front of a convenience store
Black guys?
Don't insinuate something
untrue about my husband.
That is the goddamn truth.
Lisa, you act terrified of her.
-The way you kiss her ass.
-I am not terrified. Am I terrified?
It's clear to the world
you're terrified of her.
It's so true.
Whitney and Heather, Bad Weather.
Bend the truth, destroy.
That's what you do.
Let's all [bleep] bail on Jen!
No one be friends with Jen.
-That's what you [bleep] want.
-That's what she wants.
Okay, is is Lisa coming back?
Part two of The Real Housewives
of Salt Lake City Reunion
starts now.
[upbeat music playing]
Lisa Rinna just texted and said,
"Please tell the Salt Lake City
ladies I'm a huge fan."
-Aw.
-Aw.
We have a lot of cards.
So much to get through.
[man 1 over PA] Gonna need you guys quiet.
We're gonna swing back in here in a jiff.
[Andy clears throat]
[man 2] Three, two, one. Cue.
[Andy] We are back with
The Real Housewives
of Salt Lake City Reunion.
Bold and unfiltered
Pentecostal First Lady Mary
has a strong sense of self
and perhaps a stronger sense of smell.
But nothing was stronger
than people's opinions
about her marriage. Watch this.
[laughs]
[Robert] I can't do you with this energy.
Everyone in Salt Lake City knows the story
about Mary and her step-grandfather.
It was all bizarre.
Did you sleep together the first night?
No. Thank goodness I was on my period.
-Are we good?
-[Jen] That's what I wanted to ask.
We talked, and I told you about my aunt.
I told you I had 12 surgeries
getting all my odor glands removed.
The worst experience of my life,
so that smell
My aunt just got both legs amputated.
She didn't eat right.
Like, drink water. Okay, forget it.
Okay, open your eyes
one more time at me like that.
If you're gonna act like this,
I don't need hoodlums.
When you told me,
"When there's Black people
in front of a 7-Eleven,
I go somewhere else"
-You're Black, just a reminder.
-I am Black. Okay.
I do know that Jen keeps
starting something with me.
Do Lisa and Meredith feel the same way?
-They do.
-What are they saying about it?
I'm scared of her.
-Meredith and Lisa
-Okay.
-called Mary.
-Called Mary and said what?
-They're afraid of you.
-Wait. Listen.
First of all, Mary's a [bleep]
lying-ass bitch!
They wanna [bleep] with me?
I am not afraid of you. Not afraid of her.
-Said you're talking [bleep] about me.
-Wait. Everyone.
-Never talked [bleep] about you.
-That's all I wanna know.
Ask me if I'm afraid of Jen,
the answer is no.
[bleep] you!
That is so hard to watch still.
I loved it.
[Andy] Karen from
Little Rock, Arkansas, said,
"Mary, can't believe that you
had your sweat glands removed."
"What was that all about,
and why was it deemed
medically necessary?"
Because I have a condition
that's in my family
called hidradenitis.
So my body and my immune system
kept attacking my odor glands,
and they would start getting
white cells and pus-y
and start they're called boils.
And they would get huge as
big as an egg.
Seventy percent of my body
was infected with those boils.
You're in the beauty business.
Ever heard of it?
-No, but I wanna market it.
-It's new.
So can you remove your odor glands
just so you don't ever have BO?
-No.
-[laughs]
Ave from New Orleans said,
"Mary, what you said
about Jen's aunt
was really mean-spirited."
"How can you proclaim to be a First Lady
-and then say these things?"
-[Mary] I was aggravated.
[Andy] I mean, you said, "Drink water."
Aggravated 'cause it kept coming up.
It was very hurtful.
I mean, I just asked you guys
to consider This is like my mom.
There's no excuse for it.
I can't take it back.
I said it, and I-I-I apologize.
I-I just said it out
of frustration because I
I-I would never just say,
"Ooh, Jen smells like hospital."
Say that she had said
that you smelled like hospital, Jen,
what was the trigger there to set you off?
[Jen] I never went
to the hospital that day,
-so when I walked in
-You hadn't been to the hospital?
No That is the issue that I'm trying
Well, this is the headline.
It's kind of ironic.
By the way, what were
you smelling if it wasn't hospital?
I smelled hospital still.
But you couldn't have
been smelling hospital.
So I felt like That was just mean.
Why would I make that up? That's silly.
Who smelled like hos
It wasn't me. That's the headline.
-Jen Shah didn't. Somebody else did.
-[Mary] Jen.
So your odor glands were removed,
but your sense of smell is very strong.
-Andy, really? That's a dig.
-No, it's not a dig.
-That is a dig.
-I'm saying.
-[Mary] Not my smell.
-[Andy] Okay.
-But for my body. Yeah, the
-Right, okay. Um
If you know I'm going
through this traumatic thing,
think that's insensitive,
"My God, it smells like hospital"?
I apologized. I'm not gonna
keep apologizing over and over.
-First time you apologized
-It's not.
I apologized on television.
I'm sorry if I hurt you.
I would never wanna hurt you.
Come here. Please?
Like, really?
-But you weren't sincere
-Don't tell me Don't do that.
-No, listen. You weren't sincere.
-Don't tell me I'm
I hate hospitals.
I accepted it because
it's Meredith's birthday.
Okay. So that that's you
not accepting my apology.
Understand that. You don't even
apologize about anything.
-Not once have you apologized.
-Did you hear what I said?
-You denied saying it.
-I apologized, and it's not sincere?
-Not kiss your butt.
-You denied.
-Never kiss your butt.
-Denied.
-I apologized.
-No one's asking.
-I meant it. And that was it.
-You disrespected
-What do you want me to do?
-To say sorry.
-Again?
-It wasn't understood.
-Accepting your apology.
-Say sorry again?
I don't want "I'm sorry" again.
-I'm explaining.
-Explaining.
Then why are we wasting time?
We have a lot of cards.
Jason from Provo, Utah, said,
"Mary, I can't believe you said
you won't go into a 7-Eleven
if you saw Black people outside."
"How would you feel
if someone refused to go into a store
because your son was standing
at the door?"
It's not true. I didn't say that.
-You did.
-I did not.
-[Andy] What did you say?
-I said I have a fear
when guys are standing out in front
-of a convenience store to
-Black guys?
-No. No, I did not.
-Just men?
-I'm Black. Son's Black.
-You said, "Yeah, I said it."
Turn like how she threw Meredith stuff.
No, you guys heard it.
-[Jen] Heard her.
-[Andy] Fear of people standing
-in front of convenience stores?
-[Jen] The lunch.
-[Andy] Yes.
-[Mary] I do.
Attacked at a convenience store?
-No. No, Andy.
-You admitted on the show
-that you said it.
-No, I did not. On the show?
-Yeah, you did.
-At the luncheon.
-I said 7-Eleven?
-You did. You did.
-You said, "Yeah, I did say that."
-I did not.
Why say something like that?
-'Cause to this day I mean it.
-All Black people?
If you see Black people at a 7-Eleven,
you go to another?
Shut up.
I didn't admit it. I did not admit that.
-[Andy] Seemed like you admitted it.
-When I left,
my interpretation was that Mary's
reference was really more
about sketchy people outside a 7-Eleven
-Right.
-[Andy] Okay.
-not a racial issue.
-[Mary] I did tell Jen
-I said Black people.
-my taste for Black guys.
I don't I don't have
That's not my taste.
[tense music playing]
Your taste is not for Black guys?
-No.
-You prefer white guys?
So, Mary, your taste
is not for Black guys?
No.
You prefer white guys?
-You're married to a Black guy.
-Well, he's white.
I mean, not
He's light. Right?
He's lighter.
-[Mary] I told her that, but
-That's the issue.
I can't believe you'd turn that
into that, Jen.
You don't even know me enough
to try to say I'm racist.
-You don't know me.
-Not calling you that.
Yeah, you did Why would I say
if Black guys are in front of a 7-Eleven
-Is your husband biracial?
-He's Black.
But your your preference is
that you're attracted to white guys?
-Lighter guys
-Lighter guys.
-Yeah. More of a preference.
-What you're saying about darker skinned
Not that I don't like 'em,
and I'm not gonna talk to 'em
and they're beneath me.
It's not like, "Ew."
It's more so of a preference of
-An attraction.
-Attract
-A physical preference?
-Right.
People thought it was internal racism
-I know. I know.
-you saying it.
What's your response to that?
-I know all about that
-People were very upset.
because I'm Black.
-[Andy] Right.
-She I mean
She's not Black. I'm Black. I know
But you said there are
different types of Black people.
-And I And I was like, oh
-What?
You mean, like, from Salt Lake
and from, like,
my husband's from Compton?
Yeah, no. That's interracial
Don't know what she's talking about.
I didn't call you racist,
but there are interracial issues.
-Isn't your husband a racist?
-This is the facts.
-Watch what you're saying Not true.
-Okay.
-Okay, well, I asked a question.
-Watch your mouth. Don't do that.
-I asked a question.
-Absolutely not.
It's What are you talking
about right now?
Okay, I'm just ask I asked.
Wow! Don't do that.
I'll bring up true stuff.
Do not do that. Don't ever
insinuate something untrue
-about my husband. Don't.
-Finger down.
-Put your finger down.
-Don't.
Your kids are not here.
Can I just say, Andy?
-Yes.
-I need to improve on the way
I convey things and the way I say things
can come across offensive.
I think all colors Black are beautiful,
and I'm proud of it,
and I'm proud of my culture.
I have no reason not to love
who I am and where I come from
in my culture. I love all Black men. Okay.
[Andy] Richard from
Las Cruces, New Mexico,
wants to know why the ladies
didn't stick up for Mary
when Jen's out of line.
"They were quick to be on Jen's side
at the MET Gala."
Always. Doing it today.
"But when Jen called Mary
a 'grandpa effer,' no one checked Jen."
Nor did she ever apologize
-But how come nobody checked Mary?
-to this day?
-Like, it goes two ways.
-So do you wanna apologize
to her for calling her a grandpa effer?
-I can say it's not sincere.
-Yes. I want to
[Mary] And I could say that.
-Hear what she has to say.
-Just saying.
-Let's hear what she has to say.
-Okay.
Mary, it was a heated conversation.
I had a lot to drink. There's no excuse.
I shouldn't have said that.
I was angry and hurt.
That's it.
So do you accept her apology?
I didn't hear an apology.
-I'm I'm sorry, very, very sorry.
-[Mary] Oh.
I take 100% blame.
I shouldn't have said it.
I'm really sorry.
You said a lot about me.
You said it over and over.
I mean, it's like
she never let up, not once.
[Mary] You were all over social media.
I never had a conversation with you.
That's why I was like, "No, I didn't."
Did you post nasty things
on social media about her and her husband?
I said, "Where it started and
how it's going," or something.
-No, you posted a lot.
-[Mary] A lot.
-[Mary] Railed on me.
-Mean stuff.
-[Heather] You posted it.
-I posted that.
I posted a Christmas tree.
[Andy] Do you feel you've taken
your feud too far?
I felt like she took it too far.
There was stuff going on way
before we even when
Yeah, way before it started.
I'm saying universally
on social media, that's a venue
where you are pretty, like, detached
from human emotion and cruel.
-I agree.
-Well, then I'm telling you why I
That's cruel for her to say
those comments and then double down?
That's your artillery.
You've done that to me, Whitney, Mary.
"What does Jen want me to do?"
Heard she lost her legs.
That's your game.
Why is it a double standard?
Why are you guys always
[Heather] It wasn't impulsive.
-[Jen] You don't stick up for me.
-Because you took that meanness,
and you perpetuated it
[Andy] Jen, Sharrieff's birthday,
Whitney tells you that
both Lisa and Meredith told Mary
that they were afraid of you,
and that caused you
to get really angry you broke
a glass, you stormed out.
I wanna get to the bottom of this.
What did Meredith and Lisa
say to you about Jen?
[Mary] I asked Meredith
how she felt about the way
Jen treats me, she said,
"I don't understand
why it's every time and every event."
-Okay.
-[Lisa] I think I probably said
I don't understand it, is really my
Okay, but then how did that get changed
to them being scared of Jen?
Little Barbie over here.
-Okay, yeah, so
-Barbie. Glam Barbie over here.
Mary told me that they actually
don't like the way
you had been talking about her marriage.
-Right.
-But they weren't wanting
to tell you 'cause
they were scared of your reaction.
Every time we said,
"Mary," you'd freak out.
That's not true.
You're gonna go with Mary,
who [bleep] her grandfather?
-Shut the [bleep] up about Mary!
-[glass shatters]
Heather, is it not true?
You're her friend.
-Yeah, every
-Is that not true?
We say, "Mary," it's like
rip cord lawn mower, like whoo.
It's not the word "Mary." It's the issue
at hand that you're missing.
-We got it.
-[Andy] You explained.
Stop saying, "When you
hear 'Mary,' you freak out." Not true.
-You did.
-[Andy] What she thought at the time.
[Heather] I got you.
But that's what you did.
Did Meredith and Lisa say to you
that they were scared of Jen?
No.
Whitney was saying you told her
-Mm-hmm.
-that I'm afraid of Jen.
I didn't. I-I believe it,
but you guys are afraid of her.
I'm not afraid of Jen.
I'm not afraid of Jen.
Then why did you tell Whitney
that they did?
Because I said they are.
You said they are,
but they did not tell you that.
-No.
-There we go.
-[Andy] Got it.
-But why were you guys
so excited to tell her
that we're afraid of her,
-to cause discord?
-Because what was happening
-is you perpetuating.
-Wait! Not done talking.
-Set it up, then I'll agree to disagree.
-Just talking.
Heather, go ahead. Gotta cut me off.
-No, no. Go for it.
-You two kept saying
-terrified, scared.
-Didn't use "terrified." We could care.
-You said, "I am like Jen's lapdog."
-I was scared to go to Jen.
"I am terrified of her at Cultivate."
Her personality's intimidation, fear.
People don't wanna make her mad.
But, like, she has thrown down
I don't get that from her. Is that crazy?
-Don't feel that.
-Totally.
She scares the [bleep] out of me.
-Are you kidding? She doesn't scare you?
-No, not even a little.
Why is it you can't wait to tell Jen
I'm scared of her, and I was standing
right in front of you. Ask me what I said.
You act terrified of her,
the way you kiss her ass.
-Not terrified. Am I terrified?
-Clear you're terrified.
-Do I ever act terrified of you?
-No, you told me.
-No one in this room is as scared.
-It's so true.
I am not afraid of Jen!
Here we go, Weather!
Whitney and Heather, Bad Weather.
Tornados! Spin the truth. Destroy.
-That's what you do.
-Hopefully take off
more than "Jenisa,"
'cause that one has fallen flat.
-[laughs] Heather is crazy.
-[Lisa] I hope they say "Jenisa,"
'cause I am her friend
and I care about her.
-You're not her friend.
-Jenisa? Is that their couple name?
Lisa created the hashtag.
Whatever. Whatever.
Why do you two think that Lisa
is not actually friends with Jen?
Because I know
Lisa's not friends
with anyone other than Lisa.
-Friends with Meredith.
-Meredith? Not a good friend?
-One hundred percent.
-Oh, she has been
-a [bleep] friend to Meredith.
-Oh, really?
-What?
-Meredith Meredith
My friend. Not sure what's going on.
-I don't feel like she is.
-Never said anything to the contrary.
-I have been the most loyal
-I would never align myself
Who talked about her marriage? Not me!
-Never align with someone
-You, and you did!
-that's talked horrible
-You talked marriage.
-about my best friend.
-You couldn't wait to share it!
You could not wait to go on your interview
and talk about my friend's marriage!
I was [bleep] livid!
You're a disgusting human,
and you're a [bleep] liar!
You're not a good friend.
I didn't say one thing about
her marriage this whole entire time.
Don't you [bleep] call me a liar.
Don't you [bleep] call me a bad friend!
Don't you [bleep] call me a liar.
Don't you [bleep] call me a bad friend.
I am a [bleep] good friend. She knows it,
she knows
I'm a good friend to both of you.
-A multitude.
-You [bleep] lie!
You went on a confessional! We watched it!
-So did Jen. So did Jen.
-[bleep] everybody else.
-[Meredith] Perpetual victim.
-[Andy] Okay. I want to
-Laugh 'cause it's true.
-I would like
-You'll have Jenisa.
-Get therapy other than Andy Cohen.
Oh. Wow! That's really unnecessary.
You said this was therapy.
Saying what you said.
Everyone hates me other than Andy?
-I'm gonna take that side.
-I said get therapy, perpetual victim.
-Aw, thanks.
-I said get therapy, perpetual victim.
You said the show was your therapy,
so you need a new therapist
other than Andy Cohen.
-I'm not a bad therapist.
-[Lisa] And so I wanna speak.
-Yes, please.
-I wanna make something
abundantly clear.
Next one of you who has anything
to say about my family
in any way, shape, or form,
you are not my friend.
-[Lisa] Thank you.
-And I did not. I did not.
Seth and I have broken our asses
to get into a very positive space.
It was a hard journey.
It was a lot of work.
None of you know anything
about it except for me and Seth.
[Andy] Okay.
It's done.
Mary, lot of comments on social media
about your marriage to Robert Sr.
It's It's mean.
Logan from Roy, Utah, wants to know,
"Is there a will
from your grandmother saying
that she wanted you to marry her husband?"
"Are there receipts?"
No. There's no receipts.
So how was that wish conveyed?
Well, my grandmother told me for herself
that she wanted me to take her place.
I told her, "Please don't
say things like that."
She's like, "Think you're too good?"
-She told Robert as well.
-No.
-She did not?
-No.
How did he find out that
that was her wish?
We prayed about it for two years,
and we felt like it was God's will.
I thought that the story was
that your grandmother,
before she died, said she wanted
your current husband
-She wanted her
-your then-grandfather to marry you
-to replace her.
-[Mary] So Robert Sr. was 20 years
younger than my grandmother.
-Okay.
-My grandmother felt like
she robbed his youth, and she says,
"If something ever happens,
I want you to marry one of my girls
'cause I know they'll be loyal,
treat you good like you've treated me."
It seems, if we're going with this logic
-[Mary] Right.
-that your mom would've been
more age-appropriate.
But my grandmother had pretty much
already put everything into my hands.
And then you talked about
how the beginning of your marriage
was awkward for you.
Yeah. Robert Sr. and I was never close.
Like, I say, like, Charlinda
she's my grandmother's brother's daughter,
but I don't hang out with her,
we're not close like friends.
Does that make her your aunt?
Second cousin.
-First cousin, once removed.
-Okay. She cleans your house?
-Her and her mom.
-[Andy] Her and her mom?
-Yep.
-Your grandma's sister
-Yes.
-cleans your house.
I mean, not like Yeah, I got help.
They help me out. We have a big house.
-[Andy] Right.
-It's huge.
And they have a little apartment.
So I pay their rent. They clean my house.
-[Andy] Okay.
-I take care of them.
They take care of me.
I'd rather have family
cleaning my house than any other.
Okay. Well, how would you characterize
your marriage to Robert Sr.?
Would you say today
that even after all these years,
it is one of an arrangement?
Are you in love with him?
II sayI absolutely think I am.
-You think you are?
-Yeah.
-What's the age difference?
-Uh, 18 years.
-Oh, 18 years.
-Yeah.
That the same age difference
-as you and your husband?
-Mm-hmm.
-Yeah, 18 years.
-[Andy] Wow.
-I didn't know that.
-And Amen.
-Thank you, Whitney.
-Because if you're happy
[Mary] I am.
[Andy] Suzanne
from Detroit, Michigan, said,
"Mary, there are rumors online
that say you were allegedly married
before marrying your step-grandfather."
-"Is there any truth to this?"
-Yes.
"Did you leave your husband
to marry your step-grandaddy?"
No, I did not leave my husband. He No.
IBut I was married prior.
Everyone gets married young in Utah.
But how old were you when you married?
-Like 19. 19, 20 or something.
-And what
And so did you divorce him
to marry your step-grandfather
-because of your
-We got divorced because he
We got divorced
for irreconcilable differences.
Just put it that way, Andy.
It had nothing to do
with Robert Sr. Nothing, so
Was he around your age, or was he older?
-Yes, he was around my age.
-He was.
And I will never date anyone my age, ever.
-No desire.
-Because you're married.
-Well, I'm just saying, if I had to.
-[Andy] Okay.
-[laughter]
-[Andy] Um
-I agree, Mary.
-I like older men.
-You've been married for
-Twenty-two years.
Twenty-two years. And are you physical?
Um
Maybe since the last few years, no.
-Do you sleep in the same bed?
-No.
-Separate bedrooms?
-Mm-hmm.
-Got it.
-You can't go through a marriage
for 22 years and be happy.
[exhales deeply]
[voice breaking]
Like, every single Chanel,
he's bought it for me.
And I-I don't have to buy myself anything,
and all my designer things,
Robert Sr. has gotten for me.
And we're happy.
We're happy, and you you can't
say or do anything
to take happiness away from me
'cause it's hard to get.
It's very hard to find,
and if you could find that in a man,
it doesn't matter where he came from.
As long as you're happy
and the man upstairs is happy
with both of you, and that's
what people should know.
Why does that make you emotional?
Marriages are hard. They're horrible.
They can be a nightmare,
and I have a beautiful one.
[sniffles] Sorry, Andy.
-Here.
-[Mary] Thanks.
Thank you, Jen.
Back with The Real Housewives
of Salt Lake City.
Leah from St. John's Valley,
Maryland, said,
"Mary, there's supposedly audio of you
calling your congregation
poor and stingy."
"Because they didn't give
you gifts for your birthday."
That's That's not true.
-"How do we know that's not you?"
-It It is me.
-Oh, it is you.
-It is me, and you know what?
It It It was taken out of content.
It said Jesus said, "The poor
will be among you,"
which is, we are considered
as the gentiles,
and he was referring to us.
How you are blessed
is how you represent how you live.
If you live a life that's not okay,
then you're not blessed.
Who put that out there?
Hold on. So you did call
the congregants stingy for not
-No, I did not. I was tell No, it
-What was the context,
if it was taken out of context?
About Jesus saying,
"The poor will always be among you,"
he was talking about the gentiles.
I was saying we were We will
That's not what we were taught.
Are there rumors
that your church is a cult?
Yes.
[Andy] And your response is?
We have the exact
same beliefs as the Mormons, so
I'm not part of a cult. [laughs]
-[Andy] Have you all heard this rumor?
-There's rumors that Mormons are.
-[Mary] They say that.
-There's a lot of Yeah.
[Andy] How does Robert Sr. feel
about all these stories
coming into the spotlight?
I just think that
it's unfair how they try to make it
like I buy things through the church,
and buying clothes
and designer through the church.
I think that part is, like, nasty.
The rumor is that your personal wealth
-is coming from, somehow
-[Mary] But there's
-through the church.
-Andy, my church couldn't
possibly take care of me.
Whitney, you've seen. Meredith.
-[Meredith] I've been there.
-There's no way I could
And I guess
it would stand to reason, then,
that they would be quite upset
watching the show, seeing you
-with all the labels
-Yeah, they're watching.
If they thought I was taking
their money. They know better.
I'm a God-fearing woman.
I would never do that.
[Andy] When you married him,
does that mean that
-you got your grandmother's inheritance?
-Yes.
And so your mom, especially,
was not pleased with that?
Yes.
Grandmother and Robert Sr.
built all the restaurants and the
-Soul food restaurants.
-There are restaurants?
Yes. At one point,
she had three soul food restaurants.
Called Southern Plantation.
They were, you know, soul food,
-then a mortgage company
-Different businesses.
Yeah. Different businesses,
so as they kind of faded off,
I mean, Robert Sr.'s a saver.
[Andy] Okay, Brenda
from Pasadena, California, said,
"Jen and Mary, is there any way you ladies
can let bygones be bygones?"
"Us Brown girls need to stick together,
and you really seem to have
a lot in common."
Yeah, I-I can. I think
we just needed to talk through it.
And I apologize again for saying
that in the way I said it.
I was frustrated. I was hurt with you,
the way you said all kind
of nasty things about me,
-and I never
-Sorry. Mary, I was wrong.
I shouldn't have done it. I was hurt.
But it doesn't make it right.
It was wrong.
I would never say anything
to hurt you about your aunt.
I would never do that.
That's not who I am.
[Andy] So, Mary, now that you two
have talked it out,
do you think you two can agree
to have a clean slate?
Well, if Jen will accept
my apology, yeah, of course.
Okay. All right. Good.
Well, we're getting places.
Raised a devoted Mormon,
Heather couldn't help but feel
like her new life as a divorced single mom
was a lesson in failure,
but like any good spa owner knows,
it only takes a little self-love
and perseverance
to finally feel confident
in your own skin.
Let's watch.
-Oh, my gosh. Hi, Dad.
-How are you guys? Hi.
[Heather] When I first met Billy,
he checked all the boxes.
He was over six feet tall,
he was cool, and he was rich,
and he was Mormon.
You don't turn that down when you're 23,
a return missionary, and a virgin.
Four generations on both sides,
Mom and Dad, zero divorce.
I'm the first.
So should you stay
married then, and it's terrible?
A hundred million percent.
In this community, I just can't
find anyone that likes me.
Is that the truth, or an excuse?
The [bleep] truth. Not an excuse.
I'm divorced. I drink. I have three kids.
Like, no one wants to take me
home to meet their mom and dad
for Sunday dinner.
Everything about me is wrong.
I went to lunch last week with Heather.
We've known each other for 20 years.
And just, like, years of history.
I don't remember her.
I say I know someone, and they're like,
"I don't know that bitch,"
that's offensive.
I know I would be pissed off.
I used to hear stories. She was the one
that was like, "Honor Code what?"
[laughter]
I don't think I'm worth
the pain that, like,
it would cause my kids.
You're saying you're not worth it?
That's like one of the things
that I hate so badly.
There's a thumb over you
that you're not good enough.
You will never be good enough
because of what you are born into
and the fact that you're a woman.
I want to date, and I wanna go out,
and I wanna drink,
and I wanna do all these things,
and there's so much shame
and there's so much fear.
There shouldn't be, though,
because we support you.
That's why I feel
you can be so open with us
and, like, letting us choose,
like, our own paths
'cause you've taught us so well already.
-Love you.
-I love you.
[laughs]
How you feel watching all that back?
[voice breaking] You know,
just all the emotions.
[sniffles] Grateful.
I actually feel so grateful
because filming all that
and being kind of forced
to just, you know, figure things out
was huge for me, and it was
absolutely therapy for me.
She's grown so much.
Um, I actually met her
-right after her divorce.
-[Andy] Okay.
[Andy] But you're cousins.
Found out we were
cousins after we were friends.
As far as our relationship goes,
she's honest, she is raw, she is real,
and I've seen that change in her.
I told her from day one,
"Heather, I wish you could see
yourself the way I see you."
Has being on the show made you
see yourself differently?
I mean, you're getting a DM from Rihanna
-saying you're great.
-Yeah.
I have to assume
that affects your self-esteem.
Truly, that was the healing moment.
-[Andy] Right.
-Rihanna healed everything.
-[Andy] Right.
-Let's be clear.
[Heather] The show has been
absolutely transformative.
I just didn't think there was an audience
for the mess that I am,
and to have marginalized Mormons
and just humans
across the globe, like,
reach out and laugh
and relate to anything
has been totally healing,
and you start to see
yourself in a different way,
and it feels supportive.
Janell from Darrington, Washington said,
"Heather, my heart broke when you said
that no one in Utah
would love you for you."
"Have you broken through
those limiting beliefs,
and are you now going
after what you deserve?"
No, and kind of.
-Are you on apps?
-I'm not on any apps.
-Get on it.
-I know. I know. I should.
-I know I should.
-Rough out there, Andy.
Your daughter I mean, so, like
-what was their reaction to them
-It's an issue.
seeing you on the show
with Curtis and that conversation?
I'll tell you, like, girls love
men with big equipment.
I had preached to them
absolute abstinence
-Right.
-and that their value
and their role in life was to be chaste.
[Andy] And?
My daughter has a boyfriend,
so we talk about sex,
and I describe it as, like,
"Listen, making out,
all of that's the kiddie pool.
Sex is the ocean."
We talk about it abstractly
and in a way they feel safe to discuss.
I want them to be wild.
I want them to have multiple partners.
For my kids, I want them to be wild.
I want them to have multiple partners.
You know? Get wasted and
-Live.
-To live.
[Andy] Tammy Lynn from Dallas
wants to know are people judging you
-on social media?
-I've only had any negativity
from just really active Mormon people
who feel I'm not representing the Church
in a positive light, which I understand.
I would've felt the same.
But the love I have felt
from just the community in general
-has been transformative.
-The Mormon community?
No, I would say marginalized Mormons
are the ones that connect with me.
-Got it.
-Gay Mormons, ex-Mormons,
-female Mormons.
-[Andy] Got it.
Which is funny because we attract
the same groups, like, I think.
Who? You hear from those people?
Yeah, the, like, um,
LGBTQIA members that are, like,
"I wanna live the Church
the way you do it."
"I wanna have cocktails. I wanna"
-[Andy] Right.
-"do it more leniently."
So I understand you that way
and, like, why it's appealing
and attractive.
[Andy] Lisa, you said on
Watch What Happens Live
that Heather's ego is the most
inflated since the show aired.
-[Lisa] Mm-hmm.
-What do you mean by that?
[Lisa] In a way,
she's making fun of herself,
but in another side
there's two sides to Heather.
I'm like, always, like,
are you mouthy or mousy?
-[scoffs]
-You can't be I'm not
I'm mouthy. I'm not mousy.
Well, could she be using her humor
to cover up for something else?
It would be unfair
to continue to answer the question
because I don't know her
well enough to even answer it.
What was your reaction to that?
Why would you recommend me
and then deny knowing me?
We have no history.
She recommends random
strangers that she thinks
would be great on TV
that she has only disdain for.
No, I don't like liars. You lie big-time.
You're the liar,
we're gonna prove it today.
Welcome to your show.
[Andy] Let me ask you a question.
If you didn't really know her,
then now it comes out
you actually recommended her for the show.
-Let me explain.
-The more you talk,
the more you crucify yourself.
Go for it, sis.
[Andy] You must have known her
-if you recommended her for the show.
-I met her in 2017.
-Want proof?
-[Heather] False.
-No, I believe you.
-That's actually a lie, but
I'm telling the truth.
I have the text message.
-I have the photos.
-"Can't wait to meet."
-I have it all in texts.
-Great. Bring it up.
-I have it all in text too.
-I'll be happy to share.
-If I knew her, why lie?
-Of you describing me in college.
You described yourself as the same as me.
She's gonna keep talking over me because
she doesn't want anyone to hear me.
-Okay.
-It's the truth coming out.
I want the world to hear you
'cause I think it's disgusting.
[Andy] Heather, at a point this season,
you started feeling jealous
about Jen's friendship
-with Lisa and Meredith.
-Yeah, totally.
-[Andy] Why?
-Yeah, I just felt like
there was a lot
that had happened in my life
with some of my very best friends where
this conflict had occurred.
They had kind of jumped ship with me,
and those were people
that I totally loved in my life,
and so I was pretty raw.
I felt like you wanted
to level up, and somehow
-I was lower.
-[Lisa] 100% not who I am.
And so you wanted to be part of,
you know, the glam kittens.
And I felt that,
and I was highly sensitive to it,
and I still feel it on a level.
That's absolutely not true.
That that's not true.
We talked about it in the hot tub.
I understand how you would feel like that.
And when we talked about it,
I was shocked.
I mean, I was genuinely hurt
for you that you felt that way.
[Andy] Do you guys have
a picture together?
Yeah.
I've posted me and Jen together.
Have you posted me?
-Yes.
-[Heather] I think so
That was an issue for you.
Social media was a huge issue
for me and Jen
because she made a lot of innuendos
and was kind of
lighting everything on fire,
and she never she went after
Brooks pretty hard.
She definitely went after Whitney hard.
She went after me hard,
and she went after Mary atrociously,
and that alone showed me that she was
She did not go after Lisa.
That alone showed me
that she was making choices
in in her friendship loyalties.
-That alone.
-What are you talking about?
-After the show? After we filmed?
-No, just the whole process.
Once we even announced it
in November of 2019.
-When Andy announced it
-I thought you guys were close.
-Heather, no
-It's the blogs that were saying things.
-I was asking you to post
-Blogs were fed by you and Jen.
-I don't feed the blogs. You crazy?
-You did.
They've already ratted you out, Lisa,
-so don't embarrass yourself.
-So you're saying
I'm manipulating Jen to go
after you on social?
-You manipulate Jen.
-I do not. Jen!
-[Jen] You think she's weak
-I don't have power over Jen.
I don't have power over myself,
don't have the energy
or time. I would never.
Lisa never thought I was good
enough to be in this seat.
-It is not.
-This woman has put me down
over and over to my face, behind my back.
-Nope, nope.
-And that is the goddamn truth.
-[Lisa] It is not.
-[Andy] Yeah.
Okay. Um, okay, this is
a good spot to break,
and the sooner we get back,
the sooner we leave.
We have a lot more to do.
I mean, just so you know.
-[man 1 over PA] Go ahead.
-Yeah. I'm hungry.
[man 2] Camera. All right,
we're gonna go to lunch.
[indistinct conversations]
-Okay.
-[Lisa] Heather, I know you now.
I did not know you before January of 2017.
-I never met you.
-And say you hate drama.
-You hate lies. You hate these things.
-I do. I don't get engaged.
And you double down on Jen Shah?
I care about Jen Shah,
and I don't know why
it triggers every single one of you
that I care about her.
-Over Meredith?!
-[Lisa] Not over Meredith.
I didn't pick Jen over Meredith. Never.
-In a million ways, you did. Subtly.
-No, in a million ways
[Lisa] I am direct with Jen,
I'm not afraid of her,
and I tell her exactly what I think
when I think and how I feel,
and I will say, "You're in the wrong."
Doesn't make you friend to Meredith
just because you call Jen out.
You can see,
you can see you're trying
to attach yourself
to whatever you think's gonna be
most buoyant, that's called trading up.
Heather, I would be fine
being on an island alone.
-I am [bleep] fine with myself.
-I understand. You make that very clear.
-I don't know why this is an issue.
-What is going on?
-Made it clear you'd be fine alone.
-Didn't we have a conversation
about this five minutes ago?
Why going backwards?
Why are we rewinding?
Don't know why you're upset.
Pointing out what I thought.
I'm done. You wanna move forward, we can.
-Not backwards. Forward, or backward.
-Don't wanna move forward.
You wanna move forward, we can.
Not backward.
-Forward, backward.
-Don't wanna move forward.
I don't know if I wanna move forward.
Well, good for you.
Just don't try and, like,
sabotage other friendships I have.
I do not wanna wedge
between you and Meredith.
Meredith's taken enough hits.
[Lisa] Meredith, she's saying
you've taken enough hits.
I don't wanna do anything to Meredith.
Enough hits. Allowed to say that, Lisa.
-Not from me. You guys. Not from me.
-I can say whatever I want to you.
-Didn't open my mouth about her marriage.
-Didn't say. Why taking it so personally?
She's my friend, I don't like you talking
-about our friendship. Off-limits.
-Didn't want to do anything mean.
-Enough hits, you took it personally.
-Andy, are you sick of all this yet?
-[laughter]
-It's my life.
She's my friend. She knows, shown her.
You've not shown up for her today.
I have not shown up for her
today? Oh, my God.
Not in the way I would want,
that would matter to me.
Meredith, she's saying
I'm not showing up for you today.
How am I not showing up?
I wanna know. I wanna hear.
-Aligning with the one that went after
-How?
[Heather] It's my version of friendship.
But that's, like, me.
You're saying because friends
with Jen, and Jen went after
-Yeah, the one person who
-Let's all [bleep] bail on Jen!
Let's no one be friends with Jen?
-That's what you want.
-I brought her on the show,
-you were furious.
-You want her to yourself. Roll footage.
She's saying, "Blow up on Lisa
and Meredith." That's what you say.
-Watch footage. I watch the show.
-I think that you should answer
-for a lot you're refusing to.
-I don't. All stuff fake in your head.
Go read all the press.
I don't even talk about you.
-This is why we have problems.
-You are flipping out
You're in your own head thinking stuff
I don't think or do,
sick of it, a constant narrative.
I try to be your friend not worth it,
because you're in the past
-on weird [bleep] that didn't happen.
-Are you hearing your
[laughing] Are you watching
your own performance?
-I'm listening to her.
-[Meredith] You guys do realize
that's what I was saying earlier.
There's so much hostility
and anger here that you guys
-don't hear.
-Heather won't let me.
Never friends because Heather will
Heather is not my keeper.
Well, I feel like if I even try
and reconcile with you,
there'll be something I did wrong.
I'm not a good friend, not a good person.
But, Lisa, the point is,
can you realize that it's 50/50 for how
Whitney, I am so sorry! My God!
I'm sorry for everything, for breathing!
-I think
-It's so ridiculous.
[Whitney] I'm trying to help you
understand why it keeps coming up.
-You don't like me. Don't care. It's okay.
-[Heather] You don't care?
-You care a bit.
-[Whitney] All I'm going to say.
-I'm getting accused of
-[Heather] Seems to scream "I care."
-See? Why friendship in question?
-Just ignore me.
-I have no idea. I do not have problem.
-We're totally good.
-I'm sure you're good.
-My problem, my voice
[stammers] But I'm saying for me,
that would trigger me.
-Doesn't trigger her. Triggers me.
-I could use a shot.
It's relentless. It's relentless.
It's like mind-numbing. I can't.
-Everything I say
-The problem is, everything you say
-is interpreted the worst way by her
-Right.
and everything she says, worst way by you.
No, you did not just hear me
say the nicest things to her?
-No, I wasn't listening, to be honest.
-No.
There's nothing I can say. Not worth it.
[Heather] I just think that you will not
you say you hate lies.
You hate liars, hate drama,
hate all these things,
-and you have aligned yourself
-[Whitney] Can I get a shot?
with the nexus of all of that.
-[Lisa] Wait. You She told me you
-So, inconsistency
-[Lisa] Jen called me
-and then show up for the rest of us
I just need to go to my room
and get Advil.
I'm coming with you. [bleep] it.
instead of piling on
when it might be beneficial to you.
-I'll be back I can't.
-Don't think anything's beneficial to me.
Hasn't been beneficial.
You're in last place.
What's last place, Heather?
-In life.
-Really? Okay.
-With me, for sure.
-Heather, do you see how mean you are?
-Yes. It's a defense mechanism
-Do you not see how mean you are?
-for things you've done to me.
-I have done nothing to you.
Fine. Stop talking, go sit down.
I have nothing to say.
You know, this is what you do
all the time.
This is you. I can't do anything about it.
That's so funny that you know me.
You can predict me.
-I don't know you. Nothing about you.
-Fascinating, we have zero history.
-Where are you going?
-This is what I do.
I'm gonna go give my husband a hug
'cause this is negative.
Can somebody get me John, please?
I would love to be friends.
It can't happen with this.
-This is
-[Mary] What is going on?
Like, what is this?
[Lisa] It's abusive. It's seriously
I don't have friends like this.
Do you see? Heather wants me to hate Jen.
How do you be dismissive
of someone who's broken?
How do you just say,
"You're not I know"
"I'm gonna abandon you too." Noah!
And then, they're trying
Meredith is supposed to be my best friend,
and I'm like, "What the [bleep]?
You know this," like
[Heather] Oh, hi, Meredith.
Stirring up problems and gliding in.
-I'm just kidding.
-[Meredith] What?
I was just being funny.
She's obsessed with my best friend.
It's so [bleep] crazy.
You guys don't need this filmed.
Okay, is is Lisa coming back?
[dramatic music playing]
We hope.
[Lisa] They can go on without me.
[Andy] Next week, the dramatic conclusion
to The Real Housewives
of Salt Lake City Reunion,
and the men join the stage.
Coach Shah, why not be there
to support Jen
for her dad's funeral?
I was at the wake.
Jen, do you think that's something
that you're gonna be able
to let go of at some point?
Robert, what was it like watching
Mary's discord with Jen?
-[whispers] Oh, God.
-I don't like people messing with my wife.
How is the reconciliation going?
-Uh
-It's horrible.
-How's your dad doing?
-I just hope the show didn't break him.
[Jen] Telling a woman of color
she's aggressive,
-it is very dangerous!
-You are aggressive.
You're aggressive right now.
This is aggressive.
Do not tell me my feelings mean nothing!
[dramatic music continues]
