(male narrator)Up and at 'em, it's Atom Ant!
He's strength, he's might,he's speed, he's fight.
He's Atom Ant, that tiny ant,and his atomic power
has what it takes and alwaysmakes the vilest villain cower.
He's rough, he's tough,and bad guys yell enough
when he is up and at 'em,Atom Ant!

kaboom
[instrumental music]
(male narrator)Deep down in hissecret laboratory
that defender of justice,Atom Ant
has just finishedhis morning exercises
when he hears a startlingbit of news.
(man on radio)
'You recreation fans
will be happy to know'
'that Professor Von Gimmick
has just purchased'
'an assortment
of old army surplus.'
'And he's planning to build'
'a children's amusement park
with these items.'

How wonderful!
Professor Von Gimmick
has reformed.
I shall go visit him
and volunteer my services.

Meanwhile, in his laboratory
the eccentric Von Gimmickhas been working feverishly
on his new project.

Von Gimmick's New Gimmick.

Hi, there, professor.
It is I, Atom Ant.

At your service.
I hope you've wiped your feet
before you came in,
you little show-off.
'What do you want?'
I came to help you build
that amusement park.
'I'm not building
an amusement park'
it's an amazement park.
Amazement park?
Yes. For the amazement
of my enemies.
[laughs]
I don't get it.
'No, but my enemies will.'
With this machine you see,
if a small enemy bothers me
I just push this button.
'And out of my little
amazement park, a small gun'
'takes care of it for me.'
[gunshot]
You fiend, I shall have
to stop that shell.
Don't bother. I'll stop it
with this button.

'See? Back in to the gun.'
Phew! That was close.
I can get closer.
Now, watch this.
For a medium-sized enemy,
I'll punch this button.

Alrighty, worrywart.
Here's another button to stop.

Not until I show you
the panic button.
'It sends out my robot bomber
loaded with live bombs.'
Fun is fun, Von Gimmick
but that plane is headed
for the big city.
'Stop it quick!'
I would if I could,
but I can't.
Why not?
I forgot where I placed
the stop button.
Silly me.
Then I shall have to stop
that robot bomber myself.
Lots of luck.
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!
I hated to tell him the whole
machine is out of control.
Anything can happen now.
Jumpin' jets, the plane's
right over the city.
The bomb-bay doors are opening.
'And it's dropping the bombs.'
Lucky I was the best outfielder
on my very Little League Team.
swoosh
Got it.
Got another and another.
A triple play.
Now, out over the ocean
and bombs away!
Away from the city that is.
splash
Well, that's that.
Uh-oh! Bouncing barbells!
The bomber has turned about
and headed for that skyscraper.
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!
swoosh
I shall grab this big bird
by the tail and hold it back.
Oop. Oop.
screech
Splashy landing!
[engine roaring]
splash
boom
Crumbling comets!
It's the Big Bruno cannon's
50-ton shell.
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!
I shall remove
the firing mechanism.
First, I shall unscrew
the nose.
whirr
There, it's off.
'Uh-oh! It's heading
for the buildings below.'
I shall disconnect this wire
so the shell will not explode.
Easy does it.
pop
There! That's got it.
Now, I'll get out.
Target, vacant plot.
bam
Now, what? Von Gimmick
has run the gamut.
Looks like the tanks are coming.
[gunfire]
They're heading for the bridge
to enter the city.
I've got to stop them.
swish
Now, if I can just lift
this bridge.
[grunting]
Phew.
Don't go away,
I shall be right back.
swoosh
One, two, one, two, one, two,

Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!

Now, up! Up! Up!
'Upsy bridgsy!'
'Just like lifting a baby.'
That will cool off
those hot rods for good.
'Easy now, that does it.'

Von Gimmick tries next.
I'm up and at 'em ready!

Atom Ant, you stop wrecking
all my beautiful
war surplus stuff, you hear?
I won't stop till you promise
to use it right.

'Instead of an amazement park,
under my supervision'
'you will build an amusement
park for the kiddies'
'just like you started to do.'

'Beautiful!
The wonderful Von Gimmick-Land'
'Dozens of fun-filled rides,
airplane spin, Ferris wheels'
'roller coasters.'
'Nice going, Von Gimmick.'
I got to admit,
it is a fun place.
Can I ride the merry-go-round?
Can I, huh, pretty please?
Not until you finish
decorating that pink ride.
Oh, gee golly whiz, shucks.
You know,
any body that's so anxious
to ride the merry-go-round
can't be all bad, right?
[laughing]
