- Well let that jailbird
sing all she wants.
Who's gonna listen to
her behind bars, huh?
Shred.
- Aww, Vox, what's the matter?
There's no mint on your
pillow this morning?
- You'd better watch yourself.
Everybody's gonna listen to me
when I get outta here.
- Oh, well, you're not
gonna get outta here.
Progate Penn is escape proof.
- Isn't that what you told Flashpoint
and the Gangster Prankster?
- Vox you woo me,
that was before I enhanced the security.
I've added two guards to every jailer.
In fact here comes your two right now.
(rock music)
- Reporting for duty Warden Brickhouse.
- Not like that you're not.
You're in violation of Section Five,
Paragraph Four, Subhead Three
of the Prison Guard's Handbook,
which states that when
you put your uniform on,
you should be buttoned from
your cuff to your collar
to present an appearance that
has more decorum and order.
- I think he wants us to button up.
- Bingo.
And I want you to turn off that music too,
that's also in the
handbook too, no radios.
- But it's not a radio, sir.
- Well what is it?
- A boombox.
- The operative word being boom.
(grunts)
Do it girls!
(evil laugh)
(explosion)
(grunts)
(evil laughter)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(gunshot)
(bang)
(tires screeching)
- Because of the efforts of my precinct,
Vox Populi is in jail.
And her music is off the shelf.
- Well that's all well and good Captain,
but let us not forget who
exposed her in the first place.
- Talk about exposed.
(explosion)
- Believe me I haven't forgotten.
- Vox.
(nervous laugh)
- Time to play that tune.
(laser screeches)
- Come on let's go.
Darce?
- Uh uh.
(laser screeches)
(grunting)
(suspenseful music)
Nobody listened to us
when we played our music
or when we told you that
the mayor set us up.
Well from now on,
everyone's going to listen to us,
24 hours a day, seven days a week,
and on every radio station in the city.
- I don't think I like the sound of that.
- Well here's a sound
you're gonna like even less.
(high pitched guitar notes)
That was a warning.
If you turn a deaf ear on my demands,
I'll make you deaf permanently.
(guitar strums)
- Once again, Vox has become
the political hot potato
of the mayoral race.
Captain Strickland has
ordered radio stations
to play The Bleeding Eardrums album
in an effort to ensure public safety.
Mayor Worth, however, has
overridden these mandates,
refusing to give in to the demands
of what he called terrorists.
- What?
- As a result, the public
now sees the mayor as tough,
and unwavering, while they
look at Captain Strickland
as a coward and a pushover,
explaining why Worth has
now claimed 69% of the vote.
- 69%!
- Yeah!
- 69's my favorite number!
- Yeah!
- [Both] Congratulations, Mr. Mayor.
- I think we should celebrate.
- Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
- I bet I am.
- Everybody, mambo!
(mambo music)
(giggles)
- These supersonic audio plugs
should protect your ears
from Vox's high note.
- Right, but the question is
how do we protect everyone else?
- That's your headache, not mine.
- No that is your headache
unless you help me figure out how Vox
plans on deafening the city.
(sighs)
Do you think she's gonna
send out soundwaves
over the radio stations?
- Hmm, I doubt it.
If she could hijack the signals
from the satalite transmitter,
she wouldn't have demanded
that the diskjockies
play her music, she would have
just broadcast it herself.
Nah Blue, I'm thinkin' she's
gonna do it another way.
- I think you're right.
But how?
- With speakers, big ones,
placed in strategic
locations all over the city.
- But where are we gonna get em?
- There already there Screech.
- Where?
- Everywhere.
Courtesy of Mayor Worth
and his enormous ego.
(evil laughing)
- The air raid sirens!
- The what?
- They're on the roof of every courthouse,
police station, and every other
government building in this city.
- Yeah, I know, but they
haven't been used since wartime.
What makes you think
they're even gonna work?
- This does.
(suspenseful music)
- What a maintenance report?
- I got it from the computer
at Mayor Worth's office.
He had every siren cleaned
up in overhaul last month.
- Really?
Then that's gotta be it.
- Yeah, but there's hundreds of them?
- Which one would Vox
choose to broadcast from?
- Huh, the biggest one.
- Which one would that be?
- Bingo.
The roof of City Hall.
(rock music)
- Testing, one, two, three.
Hello City of Angels.
This is Vox.
I told you you'd be hearing from me again.
Well now, hear this.
(rock guitar music)
(evil laugh)
(high pitched guitar)
(yelling)
(explosion)
(high pitched guitar)
(grunting)
(laser screeches)
(explosion)
- Mind if I give you a little feedback.
- Black Scorpion.
- Time to face the music girls.
- How dare she interrupt us.
- We were in the middle of a jam.
- Now she's in a jam.
Get her girls.
(suspenseful music)
(grunting)
- They say music soothes the savage beast.
(suspenseful music)
(grunting)
I guess they're right.
- Alright, Black Scorpion,
you listen and you listen good.
(high pitched guitar note)
You wanna play sweet cakes.
(suspenseful music)
(grunting)
(grunting)
(suspenseful music)
(grunting)
- Now it's your turn to listen.
- What are you doing?
- Sending you out on a high note.
(loud guitar note)
(screaming)
Vox has left the building)
(suspenseful music)
- Welcome back to action,
a selection night coverage.
Countings from the last five
districts have just come in.
Winning the mayor race with
a startling 71% of the vote
is Arthur Worth.
- Oh, I don't believe it.
- I demand a recount.
- Oh, a recount's not gonna
help with that wide a margin.
- Well I guess I better
go outside and concede.
- It's the worst day of my life.
- Mine too.
- Cheer up fellas, there's a
bright side to all of this.
- There is?
- What's that?
- I'm still your captain.
- Oh happy day.
- But not just reelected a mayor,
you have crowned a king.
- Why don't I just put some music on.
- Ugh, would you please,
I think that's a great idea.
(somber note)
(fast paced rock instrumental)
