MARVEL Spider-Man (2017) s01e21 Episode Script
Spider Island (Part 3)
You know, my favorite way of clearing my head's always been to swing above the hustle and bustle of the city below.
- My purse! - Uh-oh.
[bystanders gasp.]
But after the recent spider-virus outbreak, that hustle and bustle has gone up a notch.
[panting.]
[car alarm blaring.]
In fact, it's gone up about 20 stories.
Ow! Come on! Watch where you peck! Hey, all! I'm looking for a purse snatcher.
Medium build, sticky fingers, spider powers.
Let me know if this sounds too generic.
- Whoa! Sorry.
- One side! [yells.]
Are you kidding? [Yells.]
Where'd you learn how to swing, you web-dork? Everyone's had powers for, like, one day, and they think they own the skies.
Uh-oh! Out of web fluid! [grunts.]
[grunting.]
[groans.]
Look at them all, thwipping around with their organic web shooters like there's no tomorrow.
While I feel my college savings dip with every web-cartridge spent.
[earpiece beeping.]
- Hello? - Peter, it's Gwen.
I made it home last night, but something's wrong.
- I need you to - Need what? [glass shatters.]
Gwen? Are you there? Hello? [Grunts.]
[people shouting.]
[music.]
[shouting continues.]
What's with the crowd? Haven't seen a mob like this since the new Stark phone came out.
[people chanting.]
Spider-Gwen! Spider-Gwen! Spider-Gwen! [people whooping.]
Oh, I get it.
These are what adoring fans sound like.
You guys have heard about Spider-Man, right? Amazing.
I mean, what that guy can do with a web.
Does that guy actually know her? It's okay.
I'm a friend from school.
[murmuring.]
Gwen? Hello? Mr.
Stacey? Anyone home? I'm coming in.
Gwen? Man, you've got some monster fans out there.
I [faint rattling.]
[clattering, glass shattering.]
Hey, your frames are a little crooked.
Gwen, what's going on? Are you okay? [clattering continues.]
Gwen? [Growling, screeching.]
Something tells me you're not one of Gwen's fans! [growling, screeching continue.]
[growling, screeching.]
Wait a minute.
I never forget a fang.
You're that stealth spider that tried to poison the city the other day, aren't you? What'd you do, come back for Gwen's autograph? [Grunts.]
I don't know what you did with Gwen, buddy, but she is not gonna like what you've done to her place.
[Grunts.]
Whoa! I just punched on oversized spider-monster in the face.
I have so many conflicting emotions right now.
Itsy-bitsy, keep it coming, ugly! [roaring.]
Almost there.
[grunts.]
Open and shut.
Should be enough webbing to hold [grunts.]
[growling.]
[yells.]
[people exclaim.]
- It's a monster! - Where's Spider-Gwen? [people gasp.]
That's exactly what I wanna know! [grunts.]
[grunts.]
I could use a little spider-powered help here, guys! Just because we have powers doesn't mean we're heroes like Spider-Gwen.
- What about Spider-Man? - Pfft! Menace.
[growling.]
[grunting.]
Ugh! Spider breath! Back off, Gwen.
Parker's not on the menu.
[Peter.]
Anya? [grunts.]
Two things.
First, wow! And second, why do you think that spider-monster is Gwen? First, don't be so surprised.
Second, it's wearing what's left of Gwen's costume.
[growling, screeching.]
And third, I'm smarter than you and already pieced this together.
Why did I know that last part was coming? [growling.]
[Anya.]
Wait! Gwen! Okay, let's go.
[Peter.]
Where there's smoke there's fire.
[bystanders gasp, yell.]
[whimpering.]
[grunts.]
[car alarm blaring.]
Gwen left a voice mail.
Said something was happening to her.
She must've called me when she couldn't reach you.
Then the phone went dead.
[growling.]
[men exclaim.]
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
I'll wrap this up! You go for help! You're not seriously side-lining me, are you, Parker? Because Gwen's my best friend, so I'm staying.
- [grunts.]
But - If this was Harry, you'd do the same.
She's still Gwen.
[Screeches.]
[music.]
You're still in there, Gwen.
Aren't you? Come on.
Let's get you back to Horizon, figure out a cure.
[roars.]
[yells.]
[grunts.]
I'd take that as a "no.
" Okay, okay.
Let's get Gwen-Monster into the alley.
Oh, so now it's okay to call her "Gwen-Monster.
" You kidding? Did you hear that screaming? That's movie monster screaming.
[Peter.]
Almost there.
[screeches.]
Keep on her! [music.]
There's nowhere left to go, Gwen.
Just make this easy and give up.
[roaring.]
That does not sound like "I surrender"! [grunts.]
[screeches.]
Nice save.
You sure picked up quick on those spider powers.
It's all in the wrist.
[Yelps.]
Uh, maybe it was just luck.
[grunts.]
Your good fortune has turned into mine.
Kraven the Hunter! When the entire island of Manhattan gained spider powers, I thought, "What a challenge for the great Kraven.
" Then when I saw on the news a hideous spider-creature emerged, I had but one thought Ratings gold! Now watch as Kraven takes down his most extraordinary prey of all time.
Say good night, monster.
I don't think so, Kraven! [grunts, cries out.]
[roaring.]
She's getting away! [Grunts.]
[both grunt.]
[Kraven.]
How dare you interfere! Although, just as well.
A trapped creature is no challenge.
That is like shooting the fish in barrel.
Which we did in season one of Kraven's Amazing Hunt, now available for download.
[grunting.]
Anya, you wrangle Gwen.
I'll take care of the reality show hunter.
What? Peter, even Spider-Man can barely take Kraven.
- What are you gonna do? - Just go! I'll distract him as long as I can.
[both grunt.]
[thud.]
[groans.]
Why do all my best ideas give me headaches? [groans.]
You are becoming a menace, little man.
"A menace?" You don't know the half of it.
[grunts.]
Anyone keeping me from my hunt must be stopped.
Plus it is great television.
[both grunting.]
[music.]
[grunts.]
[both grunting.]
[yells in slow-mo.]
[grunts.]
[both grunting.]
[grunting continues.]
I don't know who you are, boy, but [sniffing.]
Wait I do know you.
Your scent is familiar.
[groaning.]
[yells.]
Huh.
That's a good look for you.
And just in time for your close-up.
[grunts.]
[grunts, groans.]
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
Whoaaaa! [grunts.]
[crash.]
[yells.]
[imitating Kraven.]
Huh.
And don't forget, folks, always be on the hunt for items to recycle.
It's the hero thing to do.
[object rattles on ground.]
Huh? [Grunts.]
Enough! You will now learn a painful lesson.
If you get in the way, you become the prey! Like it says on the back of the official Kraven T-shirt, available online now for just 19.
95.
You are skilled for such an inferior-looking creature.
[Grunting.]
Much like the African toad, who appears docile, but whose darts have the strength of a bomb! [Yells.]
[grunts.]
Aah! You fought bravely today.
[groans.]
You earned my respect, and this An autographed 8-by-10 glossy of my most popular hunt.
You can place it on your wall and impress your [grunts.]
[tires screech.]
[grunts.]
- Get in! - Harry? How did you know where to find me? I didn't.
Now buckle up.
[engine revving.]
[tires screeching.]
[huffs.]
[Harry.]
I've been tracking the spider-monster that peaced out on Liberty Island.
Been following it through its vibrational patterns.
Ohh! Tactile communication, the method spiders use to find each other over web-strands.
Yep.
I've just been tracking the more - Well, monstrous vibrations.
- Nice.
Now we'll be able to track Gwen as well.
- Gwen? What happened to her? - You're not gonna believe this, but Gwen turned into a spider-monster too.
Pal, this entire city has spider powers.
I'll believe anything at this point.
[beeping.]
Hold on! [Grunts.]
[tires screeching.]
- So, are we good with each other? - Yeah.
Sorry.
I just got freaked out the other day when I thought you were Spider-Man.
- But right now, that's the least of my worries.
- Uh, good.
Why such an interest in the original spider-monster? Pete, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I think my dad's alive.
What? How? Norman Osborn's tough, but there's no way he could've survived that explosion at Midtown.
Unless he was infected by the virus first, and it gave him spider powers, which could also explain the mysterious stealth spider.
And since he was the first one with spider powers, he'd be the first one to mutate to a monster.
That's why I've been tracking him.
I I have to know for sure.
I'm scared, Pete.
I want my dad to be alive.
But if he is, then I also need to figure out why he tried to poison the city as the stealth spider.
Let's take things one step at a time.
It's a lot to deal with.
But you won't have to go through it alone.
[beeping.]
[exhales.]
Hopefully, this is our monster.
[beeping intensifies.]
[growling.]
[both scream.]
That one is Gwen.
- Huh? - [Anya.]
Gotcha! Who's got the moves? Anya's got the moves! Oh, yeah! Pssh! She's really taken to these spider powers, hasn't she? Yeah.
And her ego's the size of Spider-Man's too.
[grunts.]
You guys got room for two more? [growling.]
[sighs.]
Gotta admit, this truck's pretty decked out.
It's a mobile lab, with a few modifications [roaring.]
- And a lot of new tech.
- Shh! Sweet.
I can get a jump on my research to help Gwen.
But I'll need my equipment back at Horizon if I'm gonna synthesize a cure.
We should head directly there.
[beeping.]
Looks like we're making a detour first.
[growling.]
Hey, watch the bumps! Sorry.
We've got a hit on Norman-Monster.
- "Norman-Monster"? - [Peter.]
Yeah.
It's a long story.
I've got a bad feeling about this.
[all screaming in slow-mo.]
[all grunting.]
[crash.]
- Everybody okay? - Yeah.
Um, nothing about any of this is okay.
[growling.]
Kraven has returned! [laughing.]
I warned you not to interfere.
Once Kraven sets his sights on his prey, nothing will stop his victory.
Yes, you are right to fear the hunter.
[Laughing.]
[spider chittering.]
[growling.]
[grunts.]
A second arachnid-monster? [grunts.]
[groans.]
Larger and more hideous than the first? Perfect.
Come, creature.
Show me your worst, and I shall show you my best! [roars.]
[music.]
[screeches.]
[grunts.]
[growling.]
[grunting.]
[screeches.]
[grunts.]
Huh? [grunts.]
[grunting.]
[screeching.]
- Dad! - "Dad"? So this monster is the great Norman Osborn? Perfect.
I will exact my revenge for the disrespect you showed me when we last met.
[growling.]
[grunts.]
[growling.]
[grunts, groans.]
Harry, you can't get between those two.
You'll be crushed! I've gotta do something! [groans.]
[growling.]
[sighs.]
Being Gwen's friend is hard.
[grunts.]
Third time's a charm.
[yells.]
You go for Gwen! I've got a plan! - But - Go! [roaring.]
[straining.]
[screeches.]
[grunts.]
[chittering.]
[roars.]
Be [straining.]
Quiet! [roars in slow-mo.]
This exterior suits you, Norman.
It shows the true monster you are within, and will look great in my museum! [roaring.]
[grunting.]
[screeches.]
[growling.]
Come on, Gwen! [chittering.]
[screeching.]
Weren't you just telling Harry to stay clear of the monsters? He doesn't have spider powers like we do, Anya.
He can't just Whoa! [Yelling.]
[grunts.]
[growling.]
[straining.]
Frying my web shooters! [yelling in distance.]
Need a hand, Pete? [growling.]
Huh? Gwen! There's armor for everyone.
If we're gonna stop these guys, you're gonna need more than just spider powers.
Good, 'cause some of mine just broke.
[grunts, groans.]
[chittering.]
[music.]
- [grunts.]
I can't stop her.
- Want to wear a cool costume, - maybe absorb some of those hits? - [sighs.]
Yes, please.
- Do svidanya, Osborn.
- [Harry.]
Get away from him! [grunts, yells.]
[whirring down.]
[yells, grunts.]
[growling.]
[grunts.]
- Hey, Gwen, you look lost.
- Anya, stay back! She's still my friend, Peter.
[chittering.]
Gwen, it's Anya.
I'm here to help you, honey.
Let me do that.
Let me help my best friend.
[growling softly.]
[chittering, cooing.]
Stay away from my dad! [groaning.]
Harry! [gasps.]
Ugh! No web shooters! Finally, just you and me.
Now you'll regret all you've done.
No! Don't! You're gonna kill him! Back off, Kraven! [Crying out.]
What are you [Peter continues crying out.]
[grunts.]
Why would you do this? - Because he's my best friend.
- You? [grunts.]
- Thanks for saving my life, Harry.
- You saved my dad's.
Plus, you know, it's what friends do.
You will need more than friendship to beat me! [Peter.]
Seriously? I know a girl who'd love to help.
- You are hardly a match for Kraven.
- Wasn't talking about me.
[Roars.]
Ah, the thrill of the hunt! [growling.]
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
No! No! [Kraven screaming.]
[grunting.]
[muffled grunting.]
- What's this? - For fighting worthy of Spider-Man.
[marker scribbling.]
For fighting worthy of a best friend.
How were you able to get Gwen to do that? Beneath all that scary, Gwen's still in there.
I just reached her on an emotional level, I guess.
[chittering.]
[growls softly.]
Dad? It's me.
It's Harry.
[growling, screeching.]
[grunts.]
[screeching continues.]
Don't worry, Harry.
Norman's just not himself.
We'll find him, and we'll help him.
- How? - We've got this tracker.
And he's one monster in a city of eight million people.
[overlapping beeping.]
What? I'm getting more tracker hits! [gasps.]
I think you mean we're three people - in a city of eight million monsters.
- Oh, no! Looks like it's monster week on Spider Island!
- My purse! - Uh-oh.

I can't stop her.
- Want to wear a cool costume, - maybe absorb some of those hits? - [sighs.]
Yes, please.
- Do svidanya, Osborn.
- [Harry.]
Get away from him! [grunts, yells.]
[whirring down.]
[yells, grunts.]
[growling.]
[grunts.]
- Hey, Gwen, you look lost.
- Anya, stay back! She's still my friend, Peter.
[chittering.]
Gwen, it's Anya.
I'm here to help you, honey.
Let me do that.
Let me help my best friend.
[growling softly.]
[chittering, cooing.]
Stay away from my dad! [groaning.]
Harry! [gasps.]
Ugh! No web shooters! Finally, just you and me.
Now you'll regret all you've done.
No! Don't! You're gonna kill him! Back off, Kraven! [Crying out.]
What are you [Peter continues crying out.]
[grunts.]
Why would you do this? - Because he's my best friend.
- You? [grunts.]
- Thanks for saving my life, Harry.
- You saved my dad's.
Plus, you know, it's what friends do.
You will need more than friendship to beat me! [Peter.]
Seriously? I know a girl who'd love to help.
- You are hardly a match for Kraven.
- Wasn't talking about me.
[Roars.]
Ah, the thrill of the hunt! [growling.]
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
No! No! [Kraven screaming.]
[grunting.]
[muffled grunting.]
- What's this? - For fighting worthy of Spider-Man.
[marker scribbling.]
For fighting worthy of a best friend.
How were you able to get Gwen to do that? Beneath all that scary, Gwen's still in there.
I just reached her on an emotional level, I guess.
[chittering.]
[growls softly.]
Dad? It's me.
It's Harry.
[growling, screeching.]
[grunts.]
[screeching continues.]
Don't worry, Harry.
Norman's just not himself.
We'll find him, and we'll help him.
- How? - We've got this tracker.
And he's one monster in a city of eight million people.
[overlapping beeping.]
What? I'm getting more tracker hits! [gasps.]
I think you mean we're three people - in a city of eight million monsters.
- Oh, no! Looks like it's monster week on Spider Island!
