Thundercats (1985) s01e26 Episode Script

029 - Sixth Sense

- Lion-O! - Cheetara! What is it? - Can't you hear it? - I don't hear anything.
I'm getting some kind of transmission.
My intuition tells me it's right on the edge of our atmosphere.
Whatever it is, it's in trouble.
It needs our help.
Communicating with it is draining me of all my strength.
What do the signals mean, Vultureman? Translate.
I can't break the code, Slithe.
But whatever it is, whoever they are, they're heading this way.
Tune in the scanners.
I can't focus on it.
It's not showing on the screens.
Impossible! Orientation control, negative.
Torsion balance failing.
- Cheetara! - We're going to crash! I'm getting you back to Cats' Lair fast! Thunder, thunder, thunder.
Thundercats, ho! Lion-O needs us.
Let's go.
The Thundercat cub in trouble at the edge of the forest.
Take one of the SkyCutters, Monkian.
See if there's anything we can do to make it worse, yes? - It stopped transmitting.
- Blast.
But I've plotted its point of impact.
- It stopped transmitting.
- But what was it? An alien spacecraft.
Its control unit can communicate with my sixth sense.
Cheetara's sixth sense in direct contact with an intelligence from outer space.
Slithe will be very interested in this.
Cheetara! - Are you all right, Cheetara? - Just very weak.
- What happened? - I don't know.
I think the spacecraft crashed.
I felt its confusion, its pain.
We better get you back to Cats' Lair.
Whatever it is, it controls Cheetara.
It takes over her mind.
It's invisible to Third Earth scanners.
And it has direct control over the female Thundercat.
We must be able to use it somehow.
It could be the perfect weapon.
Yes? You're forgetting one thing.
- Yes? - We have to find it first.
Before the Thundercats.
We must find a better way of communicating with this thing.
It's draining Cheetara's strength.
It could destroy her.
She even looks older.
It's cold.
Circuits starting to freeze.
It's transmitting again.
Wilykat, Kit.
Get on the scanners.
Try and track it down.
Power fading.
Need help.
Help.
We need help.
Where is it, Cheetara? Where did it crash? Nothing on the scanners, Lion-O.
Just a lot of radio transmissions.
I can't make it out.
It's cold and it's frightened.
And we have to find it.
Quickly.
Before it's too late.
They sound like they're coming from somewhere on Hook Mountain.
Cold and frightening.
- That makes sense.
- Snarf, you stay here and take care of Cheetara.
We'll take a look around Hook Mountain.
Suits me.
I'm too close to the ground to enjoy snow.
I found it.
I'm going in.
I'm under attack! Keep going, Vultureman, we're right behind you.
I'm going to blast that thing off the face of Third Earth.
No, Monkian.
Stop it! Cease fire.
You'll destroy it! We need it unharmed.
Nothing attacks Monkian and gets away free.
Thundercats.
Calling ThunderTank.
Come in, Lion-O! Come in, Snarf.
We hear you.
It's Cheetara.
She's being destroyed! It's as if something's attacking her.
- We must turn back, Panthro.
- No.
I think I've worked it out.
Cheetara's sixth sense puts her in contact with the spacecraft.
So if something's attacking the spacecraft it's exactly as if that something is attacking her.
He's right, Lion-O.
Seems like the only way we can save her is to save the spacecraft.
It's so small, yes? No wonder it didn't show on the scanners.
We'll take it back to Castle Plun-Darr and see how we can use it against Cheetara.
If that fool Monkian hasn't already destroyed its value to us.
Watch your tongue, scavenger.
Anyway, it's glowing.
It's still functioning.
Well, fetch it, simian.
I'll teach you to fool with Monkian you miniaturized metal monster.
No! You primitive fool, Monkian.
How can we use it if you've smashed it to pieces? That central section must be some kind of control unit.
That's the key to it.
That's easy enough.
That's what you wanted.
That's what you got.
Cheetara! Cheetara, wake up! Wake up.
Lion-O! Panthro! Tygra! Come in! Will she be okay, Snarf? I don't know, Wilykat.
Someone got here first.
- Mutants.
- But why did they try to destroy it? Sometimes when people come up against something they don't understand they feel threatened.
- And their first reaction is to destroy it.
- Cheetara! Whatever happens to that spacecraft affects her.
And those mutants have smashed it to pieces.
We better get back to her! Find out how it works, Vultureman.
We have to know.
It's beyond the limits of our present knowledge, Slithe.
It will take time.
I don't like it.
I don't understand it.
We should get rid of it.
Destroy it before it harms us! Ignoramus.
We must learn from it.
I'll give you just 12 hours, Professor Vultureman.
If you have not unlocked its secrets by dawn I'm going to obliterate it, yes? Yes, yes! You must find the spacecraft control unit.
But we brought the wreckage back.
There's nothing like a control unit.
It survived the mutant attack.
It means me no harm, but it's draining my strength.
We have to help it escape from Third Earth.
It's my only hope.
- Where do we start? - Castle Plun-Darr.
Take Wilykit and Wilykat and break into the castle.
Tygra and I will work on the repairs to the spacecraft.
I'll find that unit and I'll bring it back.
I hope so, Lion-O.
It's the only way we can save Cheetara.
It tries to communicate.
Nothing.
But what is it saying? - I'll go first.
Stick close to me.
- We'll be there.
What? - One down.
- Three to go.
Nice work.
Remember, stick close to me.
Well, that's the last of the defense units fixed.
Just got to get this reactor shield in place.
- Got it.
- All we need is that darned control unit.
I can't wait around any longer.
- We should go help Lion-O.
- Okay.
I'm with you.
- Wait.
- Cheetara.
- Lf you go, I'm going too.
- You'll destroy yourself.
That thing's virtually become a part of me.
My whole life depends on it.
If you're going, you'll have to take me too.
Slithe! Monkian! We've got to move fast.
Come on! What happened? Thundercats! They must have come for Vultureman's alien toy.
I told you we should have destroyed it! - These corridors are endless.
- Let' s try that one, Lion-O.
We must have gone past it.
We'll have to go back.
This must be it.
We found it, Lion-O! We found it.
Found what you were looking for, Thundercat? Not so fast, Lion-O.
Unless you want Monkian to destroy this precious piece of space junk.
And with it, your Thundercat female, Cheetara.
He would do it, Lion-O.
Monkian has no feeling for discovery or progress.
You bet I'll smash it.
Should have done it when we first found it.
Stalemate, yes? You fool, Monkian! This thing's toying with us.
It could have destroyed us at any time.
But who? Who's controlling it? Cheetara.
Wait for me, Monkian.
Wait! That ought to do it.
The question is, will it work? You did it.
It's not using my sixth-sense powers anymore.
It doesn't need me.
- What's it saying, Cheetara? - Tell us, Cheetara.
Please.
At your service.
You have to tell us what it was saying.
Please, Cheetara.
Well, it said it was sorry it caused so much trouble, but it had no choice.
- It needed help.
- And? And it said to thank the Thundercats.
And one day, it will do the same for us.
And? Tell us, Cheetara, please.
If you wanna know any more, you'll have to learn to read my mind.
